- They should make enough so people who want them to keep(not resell) can get them!!!
- I hate collectors who have lots of multiple Princess bears and who will not tell you where they purchased them.
- I love beanie babies, and own 3, but I think someplaces are selling to high!
- I don't like the fact that the news ones are so hard to find. Too many people are buying them up and selling them in antique stores at too high of a price for little kids to collect.
- I think it is pathetic that children can't get the beanies they want to anymore because of the secondary market. They were made for children to play with. My daughter cuts all the tags off her beanies because they are more fun to sleep, play , and cuddle with that way.
- I think all retailers in California are the greediest people and should be sent to hell!!!
- Erin plentiful on secondary, yet not available in stores. Are they selling directly to secondary bypassing general public?
- do not like secondary market people,Beanies are for kids! So they shouldn't over buy and sell at higher prices, because it takes beanies away from the children!
- I love to see the excitement this relatively inexpensive hobby can create. My brother-in-law who is seriously ill and in congestive heart failure seems to have "good" days when he is actively beanie baby hunting on the internet or in local stores. Sometimes that's the only way he goes out of the house--going on a Beanie Baby Run!! What a miracle for him that he has something to live for and some new excitement caused by these precious Beanies that we started collecting just for our grandchildren--fo
their college education. Thanks to Ty.
- Dislike how a child's affordable toy has become so commectialised and ina lot of cases, innafordable for children. I think it's appalling that even in the UK, you can't get Brittania unless you're first in line when the store opens - if they're going to release it over here, then they should darn well make sure tehre are plenty of 'em!
- Retailers "upping" price when Ty hasn't charged them more; retailers selling to employees and their friends and making "leftover" available to general public. I;ve almost quit collecting because of these practices.
- I would really like to a certian one but I am sending my Idea to TY. As for dislikes, I am very disappointed at the attitude of many many hallmark store employees down here in florida. they are not helping the trend last. They put down the business and the people that collect. I would really like to see a report center on the TY site for compplaints about licensed TY retailers. They are worse for our survival than the secondary market wil ever be.
- where is Erin???????? I would love to see her
- I am first and formost a Bear and Doll collector. I started collecting Beanies because they are cute, cheap and a good investment. While I do not purchase collectibles with the intent of reselling, I always look at them as investments. I had to put this philosiphy to practice a few years back, by selling most of my precious bear collection after an extended illness, just to pay the bill. These are all material things we can enjoy for a season, but let's not take this Beanie craze too seriously, bec
use you never know what curve life may throw at you.
- idonot like thesecondaries markets i don't think it is fair to the ty compnay as they have keep they price down to special b.b. like erin and princess diane act. shut them down like long viewmtowers in greefield as he is selling all his on the secondaries market shut them all down
- I didn't like the way 1997 Bear and snowman were quickly retired. I didn't even get a chance to see them in the stores. I don't like the way many if the stores are already jacking up the prices of the new beanies that came out in January. Many places are already selling them for $15-20 and I think that's gouging the public. I'm not sure what this new beanie club is all about. Are they entitled to special beanies or what? think that's gouging.
- blackie will go next
- there are dealers in our area that purchase from ty and are selling them at a mark up of 75% or more, how sad.
- I wish more were available. I often go weeks without seeing any. Also more variety. My children and I have all the ones we've been seeing in stores for the last month or so.
- I enjoy searching for them...but I wish everybody could get the new ones a little faster. First you have to wait until every employee of a retailer has scarfed theirs up.... then all the retailers family members then MAYBE they will put them out for the general public!!
- I think that the prices on those carts that are at the malls are outragous! This is crazy! A $5.00 toy for 200 and 300 dollars!
- My dislike is stores that auction the rarer beanies off or retail them for exurbent prices.
- FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO ARE HAVING A FIT about the secondary market prices, what do you think keeps these babies so intersting??? Yes I know they are cute, but if you are honest with yourself you really want to get one that is going to make you some money!!! I have alot of ones that I will never sell and I have ones that I will. I hope that I can atleast make enough on some of them to help pay for the ones I want to keep. And don't you get a thrill out of watching the price rise on babies that you own??
If we were not willing to pay more money then all there would be would be babies at $6.00 but no we all love the thrill of the ride. And you can still find beanies all day long for $6.00 for your kids birthday parties or as suprises for chores done well. So Don't get down on what is keeping this craze going or it will be over before you know it. Then what will we all do with our time??? Just a mother with 3 kids who all love the beanies and the market rush!!
- Ty needs to retire a large number of the currents that are just sitting on store shelves to get the fever started again. I'd like for Ty to coordinate and conduct giveaways on extinct and otherwise unobtainable beanies. I predict Ty will retire and add new beanies more often as he is doing to keep everyone's interest at a high level.
- Just wish they were easier to find
- I believe Ty Warner is a marketing genius. I do not believe he started out to make a toy for a child to buy with his allowance. I feel this phenomenon was exactly what he was hoping for. Whatever the reason it is here to stay for awhile. Nothing lasts forever!
- Wish magazines we more available in stores
- Hi, I am Danielle, I am 9 years old and I love collecting beanie babies!!!!! And I would like to say I think store people should give us kids a break. We are not going to rip off the tags and throw the beanies on the floor and step on them, only the moms do this. Some of us do have our own money to buy beanies with and just want to have the chance to buy them like others. Thanks P.S. I have a little sister who is three and she already knows the #1 rule about beanies... Don't take off th
tag!! and be ease. Maybe the store people should let us kids in the stores and not the moms.
- The lack of princess Di and Erin
- I believe Ty Warner is a marketing genius. I do not believe he started out to make a toy for a child to buy with his allowance. I feel this phenomenon was exactly what he was hoping for. Whatever the reason it is here to stay for awhile. Nothing lasts forever!
- WHERE IS STRETCH???????????
- thanks for info on fakes, their p;resence makes on want to stop collecting .
- Iwant Coral!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- It is getting to be very discouraging in collecting BB lately. ALL of the stores I have been to looking for the new ones have been charging $15 - 25, this of course does not include Princess or Erin. Those in my area are going for $200 a piece. It is such a scam. I am sure those retailers aren't donating the extra $190 to the Princess Diana Memorial Fund. It makes me want to quit collecting Beanies, but I've already got such much time, energy & money invested in it. Besides, they ARE cute!! And
hen you can find them at a reasonable price, fun to collect. My husband thinks I've lost my marbles!! But he plays with them too! Thanks for listening and letting me vent! Please do something about these greedy retailers before Beanies are ruined for everyone!!!
- I think they're cute, but people looking to sell them for up to $2,000 are crazy, and it used to be fun collecting them whenever we can but now it's a bad situation, because you have to race to get them at $10 dollars or you'll have to pay $50.oo
- why Ty does not ship Erin & Princess to all dealers rather than just some? I dislike some dealers selling for more than 8.00 a piece and there are many many doing it- e
- I wish TY wouldn't make and ship small amounts of certain beanies, ie: Princess and Erin. People like myself who only collect them for myself and my son will probably never be able to have one of them. I think TY is only working for the secondary market then. We have a lot of fun collecting beanies. We do it together.
- beanie babies make cheaper

- Beanie Babies are for KIDS!
- Store owners make such a big deal to keep shipments secret
- I'm not sure on some of theese, since my mom buys most of them.
- It's CRAZY, but OH, Such FUN!
- I just love your teddies. I can't wait to get Erin and Princess at normal prices.
- They should make more of the bears!!!!!
- I think they should retire Princess
- just begining hope to have fun collecting!
- TO MAKE A POLAR BEAR NAMED POPSICLE AND A BEAR NAMED CHINA OR CRYSTAL
- a crocidile, couger, tazmainian devil,sea horse
- dislike authorized retailers selling at secondary market prices
- people with wholesale accounts have gotten way too greedy and are attempting to blaim secondary market sources for inflated prices when in actuality it is the primary sources(the wholesalers) who are the cause of many of the inflated prices. TY needs to set an established policy to "GUIDE" the wholesalers in how they can price and sell the beanies. They then need to weed out the BAD APPLE wholesale accounts and then open the door for additional wholesalers. Too many wholesalers feel like they have a
monopoly on the beanies and are really treating the general public quite rude to put it politely. TY should reconsider its negative feelings regarding secondary market sources as they are what is driving the beanie train. It is the only source for most people to get their beanies as most wholesalers have limits and lists and essentially cut out the new collectors. If the craze over the beanies dies down it will be due to TY, greedy wholesalers or counterfeits.
- i believe that ty should be more careful on his marketing ideas. because a lot of the less wealthy, middle-class people can't afford to buy even current beanies with the inflation in beanie prices. and a lot of people are losing the desire and interest in buying beanies.
- I hate how Peking and Humphrey are up to like $1000 so I could like never buy them because I am saving for a car.
- I love them !
- I don't like how difficult the co. makes it to get Princess and Erin, and the huge increase in their cost. I was quite excited about the Princess bear and the idea of donating the money to charity but, I feel they have defeated the purpose by not allowing more people to be able to buy her.
- I like hunting for Beanie Babys
- I do not like so few of Erin & Princess being shipped. And that a new beanie should sell for more than the normal price.
- I would like TY to answer questions about rumors online
- Next on my acquisition list is Erin, Maple, Britannia. I despise the secondary market.
- Predictions- Retirment:Bones, Chocolate, Pichers, Quackers, Zip, Princess, Peace, Pinky, Wadles, and Stinky
- I feel they are going to retire some Dogs because ther are so many and only two have ever been retired
- Beanies Kick and they rock my world!!!! They are something for adults and children to expereince and they are a very clever idea, and i complement ty on this wonderful job he has done!!!!! :)
- Beanie Babies are adorable. I strongly dislike greedy retailers who mark up the prices enormously (in Hawaii, Princess sells for $300 and Erin for $170, just retired ones for $30+, popular ones like Nanook, Spunky, Rainbow, Iggy for $18. If prices keep escalating, this will discourage many people from collecting because it is getting too ridiculous and unaffordable. Fortunately, there are still a few retailers with morals and Beanie Babies can be found at reasonable prices ($7-8) if you know wher
to go. I feel that Ty Co. should be able to maintain some kind of control over keeping prices reasonable and affordable for the children. The Beanie Babies were meant to be for children.
- beanies rule
- They should have made a million Princess Bears if the money was really to benefit Princess Di's Charities!!!!!!!!
- ONCE YOU START COLLECTING YOU CAN'T STOP
- The secondary market has gotten out of hand in the last 6 months
- I don't think it is fair for some second-hand retailers to sell Kiwi for $250
- They are addictive ! But addorable..
- Retailers are way too greedy. They are trying to make a fast buck on a child's toy. If everyone would stick together and not pay outrageous prices it would stop. Ty should also not sell to retailers that are selling their products at a ridiculous price. They should sell for 7 - 9 dollars and no more. I refuse to pay 49.95 and up for some of the beanies. It is meant as a child's toy - not a money making process for greedy people. The fleas markets also seem to have a lot - I owuld like to know how they
an get them when no one else can. Thank you.
- I don't like the way that secondary dealers manage to buy up so many of the "hard to get" beanies and then sell them for extraordinary prices.
- I get frustrated with retailers that mark the price of there beanies up. Especially Princess, Erin, Peace. etc.. I am personally getting tired of the beanies, and thinking about not buying them anymore.. I collect them for my three children, and it really frustrating trying to find new beanies and paying high prices....
- I don't like retailers setting higher prices on newly released beanies. I would like to see more bird beanies-like mockingbirds, blue jays, cardinals, etc.
- I like BB ,but not enough people sell them.
- I just love beanies, the hunt is as much fun as the find..we have a great store intown that calls us when the beanies are in and save them for us.. I think the rest of the 93's will retire on May 1st.
- I dislike the fact that retailers can sell the hard to get ones for such a high price insead of first come first serve. Also those that buy mass to resale at flea markets and cause the prices to go up so much that the children cannot afford to buy them.
- A new idea for a beanie baby would be a German Shepherd dog named Shep.
- I hate it when stores offer special "promotions" like making you buy $250 worth of merchandise, and then giving you an Erin or Princess "free". Let's be serious. This is a lousy idea. It sucks because you end up buying $250 worth of their crap that you wouldn't buy normally, in order for you to get a bear the "authorized" dealer pays $2.00 for. I do not and will not take part in these "promotions", and encourage others to do the same. Another "promotion" that has me steamed is the Easter bunny "pr
motion". Here, the store packages up the 3 bunnys in an Easter basket and resells them for $25.00...they refuse to sell them separately. Just another wonderful way to screw the customer over. In my opinion, Ty needs to look more closely at their "authorized" dealers, and crack down on the amount of corruption that is going on! Or how about this one: an "authorized" ty dealer is getting a shipment of Princess bears. (The ups man lets it slip) So, the owner of the store calls 8 of her closest friends
nd invites them to come to the store after hours to pick up their Princess at $5.95. This, of course, is the entire shipment of Princess bears, and everyone else is oblivious to the fact that a shipment came in. Something must be done!
- I hate it when stores require you to buy $250 worth of merchandise in order to get an erin or princess free! Let
- I feel sorry for poor people who has a child who wants a Maple that was made for less than $5 and the can't be touched for less than $200.00.
- I think retail stores should be able to purchase the babies more frequently and backorders should not be a problem. How do all these secondary market people obtain the bb and retail stores are either unable to obtain them or they are put on backorder?
- It can be insane!
- How do you turn in authorized dealers who are selling beanies for high prices?
- I wish some retailers would make up their minds on what they sell beanies for because I've spent anywhere from $6.95 to $19.95 on beanies and the stores are in the same mall, right around the corner from each other.
- I'm really tired of seeing people at flea markets selling Princess for $300.00 and up without donating any of the proceeds to Princess Diana charities. They are very selfish, and they never seem to sell them, due to their outrageous prices.
- I did like it when retailers sell their beanie babies for more than $7.00; or when they have a gimmick of buying two of the common beanies inorder to get the one you really want. Here in Hawaii, many of the retail stores sell them for 7.99 - 19.99. A certain retail store sold princess for $100.00 and Erin for $50.00. I think those on the secondary market have made it extremely difficult for those who just want to collect for themselves because they are the ones that have time on their hands to go sh
pping for them. I've seen them stand in line and when the store opens a bunch of their friends or family get in line, they go into purchase their limit and they have someone else standing in line and they get in line again. They'll use their babies as a means to buying. I also think the Ty company is at fault for releasing only a limited number of beanies in the beginning because the demand for it becomes out of control and people will pay enormous prices just to get their hands on the first releases.
erhaps they are doing this on purpose. I have seen a very young couple with a new born baby purchase a Princess Bear for $300.00 cash and in 3 weeks the price went down to $150.00.
- THE HOME SHOPPING NETWORKS PRICES ON BEANIES ARE COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY EXPENSIVE AND SHOULD NOT BE SELLING THEM AT THESE UNAFFORDABLE PRICES.
- I wish that TY would concentrate on filling their current orders before announcing new beanies. This is especially true of the ones like Erin issued for a holiday. There was no possible way that Erin would be in stores and available to regular costumers in time. Now the only way that I can get one is by entering a drawing or paying up to $300 on the internet. I am seriously considering giving my collection to family/friends and not buying any more beanies after what I have seen over the last few mo
ths.
- I am appauled at how the secondary market has taken over and influenced authorized retailers to higher prices. My understanding was that TY wanted to make a product that little kids would be able to buy for a small sum of money. This is not the case at all. I will continue to collect beanies but...I will not pay above the suggested retail price of $5-$7.00
- when i first heard of these i thought people were crazy until i saw how cute they are!!
- I believe that babies are the new hoola-hoop, they're great. They keep me warm at night!
- BEANIES KICK BUTT!
- They should continue to make "hard to obtain" Beanie's because the market is becomming flooded!
- I'm really getting fed up with all the beanie sharks out there. Beanie babies are for children and there so out of price for them. But as long as the craze is there theres not too much hope. I still can't believe how some beanie humters buy all they can for profit. Thanks for the great site. Jeanne Arch
- I predict that the Princess Bear will retire in the next 6 months or sooner.
- I hope that retailers continue to sell the Beanies at low prices so that many of us can continue buying them for our children.
- I dislike the fact that Ty promised a sufficient quantity of the Princess Bear---and that promise is not being met. I tend to think that the only people who are now in possession of Princess are secondary marketers!!
- I love your site!!
- I believe it is very interesting that something like that has grown to something so big
- I dislike that when a new beanie is released, some retailers charge double or more because it is new. It is not a limited edition and should not sell for four or five times the value jus be cause it is new. Also dislike the VERY HIGH PRICES charged for Princess and Erin also Peace.
- I dislike that primary dealer charge more money
- I want to see more cats--I love the cats the best
- I dislike having to search for mint swing tags.
- I wish no beanie were retired. I want a manny the manatee but now he is retired he is hard to find and expensive.
- I don't know about you , but I am Beanied out!
- I absolutely love the bears and the new ones.
- Stores are selling Princess & Erin for WAY too much!
- hi, bye. Rea's a haha, haha, doggie. Bye. TTFN
- I love Beanies !!!!!!!
- Because of the price and diffuculty in finding and getting new beanies I have thought about stopping. The prices are to high on Erin and princess. I cant find them anywhere.
- TY should make more beanies & ship more often I usually wait 4 to 5 month for new shipments
- I don't like how the dealers are raffling the Princess Diana bear . I should be able to purchase it without dealers hording them as well.
- I wish the secondary market people wouldn't speculate on the retirement dates, it just gets the people that are really collecting upset and discouraged......like me.
- more beanies should be available to the public instead of ttto the greedy secondary market. i should be able to buy beanies at regular retail store for a small markup. some of the retailers in texas are buying from ty and sell some of the new beanies ( princess, erin, peace ets. for $100 this makes it impossible as a collector to buy as intended by ty. i would like to be a ty beanie store and sell beanie for no more than $6.00 no matter which beanie it is, but ty will not allow me to buy beanies fr
m them. i have been trying for 14 months. i have a florist shop in texas . in business for 15 years and ty will not allow me to carry the ty beanie babies.
- I have a retail shop, I try to call everone on my beanie list as they come in. I take up to 30 or more calls a day. The people who buy at my shop are very happy with the way I run my shop. Each time they by beanies or any gift item, they have a card I keep on file. After 10 purchase ,they get 25% off of them next purchase. They are happy with the way I sale the hard to get beanies.
- cheaper price on the market so that anyone could afford to buy them.
- There is only one store in my hometown of Palatka, Florida. This store only gets a limited supply and they never know when they are going to come in. My mom has to call the sstore everyday for me to see if any Beanies have come in. I wish there were more
- I don't enjoy looking for the new one for months.
- I wish I could find someone who would sell Princess or Erin at a little above retail. We are just collector because we love them, not to make money. We can't afford the expensive prices to get the new teddy bears!
- Sure would be nice if Product Release's where more predictible for general availability.
- I try to collect as many as possible
- I never read it.
- They are really cool. It is a good way to spend your money.
- we would like to have a purple panda
- I dont like the fact that new things like Erin and Princess are so expensive when they first come out and that TY only send 12 of the new ones out at a time
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES MADE BY TY
- Availability of new issues is too limited
- My grandaughters and I are having fun, when it gets too greedy and it is not fun, we'll collect something else. They were so disappointed in the Princess thing that we almost quit then.
- back off!!!!!!!!!!1
- dislike retailers can charge high price
- I have come up with many different ideas for new beanie babies such as a buffalo or bison, a squid, a warthog, a guinea pig, a goat, a grasshopper, and various others that I think would be good additions to the Beanie Baby collection. If you can, please e-mail me at: jessicamorgan53@hotmail.com if you have any information on how I could get a hold of Ty Inc. to submit my ideas to the company. Thanks!
- wish they could be more readily available
- no
- It is too difficult to get some Beanies such as Princess or Erin. Also, I am disappointed that some items are introduced and almost immediately retired like 1997 Teddy and Snowball.
- I get tired of dealers raising the prices so drastically.
- i am just going to type so all you stupid freaks reading this have to read asdfjkl;asdfkl;asdfjkl;asdf;sdf and you cant stop me so i am giong to type some more asdfjkl;asdfkl;asdfjkl;sadfkjl;asdfkjl;asdfkl; www.beaniemania.com chat wont load so i am pissed asdfjkl; ~!@#$%^&*()_+_)(*&^%$#@!~!@#$!@!@#$!@#$turn your head to see a rose------------------------------------------->------------------------------@ cool huh addmit it i am the coolest and most bored person inthis world so if you are still readin
this you are a freak so stop and shutup la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************()()()()()()()(**********************************************************************()********************************************************************************* f*** you freak!
- What about a musical BB. IE: a bear with a treble cleff on it's chest.
- Maple and Brittania should be available in the U.S.A
- I didn't even think when I was taking this test I just picked all the last choices so f*** you!
- Princess is my favorite as it is in rememberance of Diana & I & Di shared the same birthdate. Also I feel Princess will be retired as per the Official Logo on Di Memorial Fund has been authorized.
- I think most of the adults are getting too greedy with buying them, they need to share with the kids who want them for fun, not as a money-making "frenzy".
- hard to find in my area
- they're so cute!
- hard to find in my area
- I would like to comment on the outragous prices of the Princess and Erin bears. This started out as a collectable that children could afford and since adults have started collecting, prices of new beanie babies have gone up way to much
- i DISLIKE LONG LINES AND CERTAIN BEANIES THAT ARE NOT AVAILABLE TO ME.
- I think that collecting is fun for both children and adults. Retailers should be required to agree to sell within a predetermined price range so that beanies are more accessible, especially to children. Those Ty authorized dealers that sell as if they were on the secondary market should be dropped. Ty should also produce enough product to meet demand rather than create a shortage, and higher prices before a beanie is released (ie Erin and Princess). All beanies should be available in all countries
ie Maple, Britannia). People who are trying to make a living off of selling beanies only should find a real job, where they can treat their customers in a respectable fashion and not rip them off. These are cute collectibles but those collectors who think that they are investing should try real estate, stocks, annuities, etc. The retailers should be nicer when dealing with collectors...our hard earned money sends them to the bank with a smile on their faces.
- Hallmark owners are holding popular stock for there personal use. MANY are selling them on the secondary market!
- Beanies should continue to have a low price, which makes them accessible to the children. Retailers who hike up the prices of the new BB's really make me angry. I am delighted at the quality of the critters. The variety of animals keeps my interest.
- I don't like how high the prices are.
- I think Daisy is going to retire, because she was made before any of the new/old face bears. I also think Bones and Bongo will retire, because they were made right after the original nine.
- Beanies are great! We just need to be more considerate when we set our prices!
- I LOVE Beanies!!!!
- I think that the secondary market charges way too much for non-retired beanie babies
- collecting is fun for our entire family
- I would like to see a new style cat, much like a teddy bear with arms and legs, instead of lying down.
- I believe that popuar beanie babies, such as Princess, should be more accessible to the public. Especalily serious collecters!
- TY should have more manufactured on ones like Princess or Erin etc. before putting them on the market for sale in stores.
- All proceeds of the Princes Bear should go to a charity since that is how she was intended. I don't like seeing the huge profit going to greedy people.
- We have several retailers who sell beanie babies for $5.00. I frequent those stores most often. I think the others are a rip off.
- i hate secondary markets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I don't like all of the adults who collect beanies. They were made for kids, and kids only.
- I work, and dealers only put out beanies during working hours. It is very difficult to get any. Also they hold back the beanies until they are retired, never putting them out for customers
- I want Flutter to be in the McDonald's Teenie Set coming out in May!!!!!!!!!!!
- this is crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I work, and dealers only put out beanies during working hours. It is very difficult to get any. Also they hold back the beanies until they are retired, never putting them out for customers
- I want Flutter to be in the McDonald's Teenie Set coming out in May!!!!!!!!!!!
- I dislike the secondary market and the dealers who buy from Ty and sell at extremely high prices
- The Beanie Babies should have been left at 5.00
- I dislike the secondary market and the dealers who buy from Ty and
- TOO MUCH GREED EVERYWHERE AND TOO MANY MEN USING THIS AS INCOME AND THEY ARE THE WORST TO DEAL WITH.
- I'd love to, but like most people, once I get started I can't pick a point at which to stop.
- i think ty needs to concentrate on making beanies with higher quality standards and elimate all of the russ and bean sprout copies of beanies. also it is sad when a shipment comes into a retailer and they stash all of the high demand beanies to sell later for a fortune like princee going for 1400.00
- Being in retail, it has gotten way out of hand. People are practically stalking the UPS man or the retailer. We get at least 20 calls a day from the same people. The sad thing is these are supposed to be childrens toys and money hungry adults are the ones getting the the beanies. Children are happy to get one when they come in, but adults have to have dozens. It is out of control!
- i dislike it taking so long for beanies to reach the stores.
- These toys need to be easier for CHILDREN to collect and afford. Children see the greedy side of some adults because of some dealers who try to gyp people with secondary market prices. These people are often seedy looking characters and I am surprised you want your toys associated with these characters. It is giving your toys a bad name and some stores are getting a bad name in our community also.
- I dislike the fact that we can't find princess or erin at reasonable prices.
- I think they're cool but the adults should be ASHAMED for selling Beanies for too much
- think the next retirement will take out the remaining 95 beanies. three bunnies. dislike stores becoming greedy and charging triple for new ones and $30 to 60 for Peace to say nothing of the $200 being charged for Erin and Princess. If Ty continues to release one at a time, it will stay like this, I'm afraid. I like the hunt but don't want to pay that much as I'm buying for me, two daughters and two granddaughters!
- I have only really been aware of beanie babies for a couple of months and cannot believe their popularity! Everywhere they are sold there are always people buying!! They are very cute and I intend to increase my meager collection!
- tired of people buying all the same of one beanie leave someone else one stores should limited one of each to buy and stick to it.
- I do think that authorized retailers should be required to set purchasing limits and be required to sell all beanies at a certain price. For those of us that collect just for us and our children, it is very frustrating to see the secondary market with 100's of new releases before we can get them in our local stores.
- ty can not tell retailers what to sell beanies for can not do a thing about the secondary market. the only way to stop the high prices are to refuse to buy from these people
- I love BEanies, because they are investments, and they are FUN to collect
- I believe that all of the bunnies will be retired before easter. i also wish that we the consumers did not have to worry about being ripped off from crooked retailers in the secondery market!
- Lack of supply on Erin and Princess is making collecting a drag!!!
- retailers are making people spend up to $100 from their store to be able to purchase special beanies like princes and erin.(some retailers )
- I don't like the fact that stores don't get items in in an orderly fashion. I have been looking for Erin since I knew it was coming out, and everywhere I went I was always a day or two too late. I also don't like the fact that places like antique shops are buying the rarer Beanies (like Erin and Princess) and selling them for an astronomical price. Recently, in Ozark, MO at an antique dealer, I found an Erin--for $450!! That's outrageous!!! There should be stricter controls--I realize that you can
t do a background check on everyone who purchases Beanies, but let's figure something out!
- I think that Ty should start making more insect and bug Beanies.
- I wish the retired ones were easier to get and not so expensive.
- ljw327@aol.com
- retailers are not donating any profits from princess that thjey are asking hundreds of dollars for, just ty's pennys on the dollars
- I'm having a lot of fun doing this, buying for my daughter and myself. I hope to make a little money eventually, by selling my duplicates. I really dislike the greed of those in the secondary market.
- I think ya'll should come out with a porcupine beanie named Quills. PLEASE try to if you can
- I dislike retailers who hoard BB's then put them out at high $$$$$
- ty might have a possible massavy retirement and make new dinosaurs.
- This phenomenon will most likely end soon if ty doesn't make a few changes
- I think that most dealers should be honest in new shipments instead of hiding or holding the best beanies.
- I hate going to shows which have ty beanie dealers...who hold there stock for shows so they can triple the price. I would really like to see this stop.
- I like that they are both toys and collectibles. This is something that both my daughters and I enjoy doing together.
- The prevalence of counterfeits is terrifying!
- would love to hear what everyone thinks will retire next - and when
- More info on retired beanies
- I dislike the way unfairly distributes to retailers
- Clean up the retail price gougers!!!
- Mel will retire next
- This will be forever, it is not a fad, it is a phenomenon. Welcome to the ground floor.
- I do not like the hiked up prices on beanies that are not retired yet, especially by authorized dealers.
- I think the beanie phenomenon is like a fun game. You have to keep trying to get the beanies at the lowest prices. Sometimes you get good prices sometimes you don't. You keep finding until you find the last beanie of your collection. I love the game that keeps me trying to find the very last beanie.
- I think that it is great!!!
- i dislike retailers selling new beanies for more than $10 a piece
- I dislike the hoopla Ty created over the "special" ones like Erin, Princess & Britannia. They're driving up the prices and they know it!
- I eat beanie babies
- if you hate the idea of the secondary market, get over it. it helps increase your beanie's value and gives you a chance to get the retireds you dont have.
- I never like to see ads such as "12 - still in Factory bag, it says a retailer put it out the back door.
- i like different stuffed animals. I dislike not being able to buy them at normal price and some new ones already being rare
- larger supplies on erin &princess &more often
- The prices on the "retired" beanies are outrageous!
- Its incredible, I love it, Hope it doesn't fizzle..
- need to make a pegasus and a mustang horse
- The prices on the "retired" beanies are outrageous!
- need to cease some of the rumors on beanies...too many rumors!!!
- I'd like to see many many Erin's so everyone can gey one without paying rediculous prices
- I think that chains of stores that get rare Beanie's should not be allowed to auction them off and it should purely be a first come first serve, because it is not fair to everyone.
- Too many greedy people out there. It is impossible (unless you are willing to pay big bucks) to get some of the collection. When we started this we thought it would be more fun but now I'm not so sure.
- Beanie Babies Rule!!!!!!!!
- I don't like how hard beanies are to find in the stores around here! People living in more urban areas have a great advantage!!!
- I have heard that Princess and Erin are very easy to obtain at a reasonable price up north (Illinois, etc) but they are rare in Tennessee. I think there should be a more even distribution.
- I do not like how beanies are so hard to find.
- I think they should have a sports Beanie!!!
- I am sick of retailers who do not even offer beanies to customers when they first get them in. My UPS guy told me a local store just recieved a shipment of Princess' and put them out to sell immediately for $300.00 apice. If TY started this line as inexpensive toys for CHILDREN to buy , how can children ever get some of these? I can understand the secondary market for retired beanies but not for retailers to make so much profit just because they are the retailer and can demand it. TY should put a s
op to it . TY does not make the profit from the sale the retailers do. It is not right!
- ty distributors gouging prices
- Ty has us by the beanies!
- I am hoping for a retirement and release SOON
- I really am glad about the phenomenom. I think that most people dont think about this, but since everybody has them even when they become retired they wont be worth anything. That is why I get them for fun and not to resell. I predict that all ones that are for special occasions like erin and valentino will retire.
- I don't like Ty(tm) limiting production of items, like Erin. It makes it almost impossible to find one.
- I want more cats not wild ones just ones like flip,prance.etc.
- I LOVE BEANIES!
- I don't like how the BB store sellers can Jack the prices up to $300 for things like Princess and Erin when they are getting it for $3
- I don't like the fact that the only reason some adults are collecting is for money, sometimes they litterally push little kids out of line for beanies, kids dont care about the money they just like them
- I dont like when Hallmark stores sell the new ones, and hard to find beanies for 9.95 and the rest for 6.95. Especially when I was told from a Ty dealer that only the retired Beanies are allowed to be sold higher than 6.00.
- Should make more and cheeper Princess baer
- I think it stinks that when you go into an auction and find a "lot of"....tighter controls should be in effect.
- give me a good deal on Trap
- cooooool!!!!
- I Love it when beanies retire. Especially when I have them!
- I think that Gracie the swan will soon be retired and will be a valuable piece in a collection.
- I think Beanie Babies are great and cute
- I think the beanie baby phenomenon will be around for a good while longer. But from what ive noticed, the Puffkins are climbing right up their backs.
- Ty is going to end the beanie craze with all these new hard to gets like Brittannia, Princess, Erin, etc. It's sad when you have to pay more than $100 for a new beanie.
- I think the beanie baby phenomenon will
- I think that people should not be selling outragous prices for beaine babies even if they are retired. These toys were designed for kids and not for profit. I think it is okay for adults to enjoy beanies but grabbing one of these out of a childs hand at a
- Prices have gotten crazy! I hope those people paying big $$$$ remember what happened to prices of Cabbage Patch Kids!
- I think it is unfair for retailers to sell BBs at whatever price they like. If they wan to make a profit, they should do that as individuals, not as an authorized retailer.
- They are SSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOO cute!
- I think beanies babies are here to stay!
- I think that TY should make a beanie that looks like princess so that people who can"t afford her can at least have a beanie like her
- beanies are cool!
- Just one thought: I don't think it is right for Ty to limit Erin the bear to being sold in the USA. Erin was made for the Irish, for St.Patrick's Day, which is a holiday celebrated around the world. I think Erin should be released in Canada as well as overseas.
- My favorite Beanie Babies are Bessie and Daisy!
- I do not like how dealers are jacking the price around on the bears. That is totally ridiculious. They cost them the same they should sell them for the same.
- I mamage a store that sells Beanies and am seriously concerned about these obsessed adult collectors. It is ridiculous to see adult men and women get histerical at the sight of the UPS truck, wait in their cars daily, grab and shove for the sake of these toys. It is becoming an addiction. People get literally angry if they miss a shipment. I worry about these people who have nothing more to do than pant at the window of the Beanie retailer day after day. If you are reading this please re-evaluate
our priorities and remember these toys are for the children. They are not the greedy ones. Thank you!
- I think Peace will retire next
- no
- I think it is very unfair how they handle the Princess and will probably handle Erin. We are serious collectors but will not pay the outrageous price they are asking for a beanie that is current.
- I think the prices retailers are asking for the new beanies are outrageous!
- I don't like the way the stores are making it so hard to get beanies like the Princess and Erin and Peace .They are selling them for huge profits. It making it very hard for the average person to get one for our collections.
- I heard that Scoop would retire next because he shares a birthday with Princess Diana. Great survey. I enjoyed taking it.
- I love it
- I think that they should make a peacock!
- some times they are to hard 2 find. they are also alot of money at cerain places.
- I really LOVE beanies
- This was a good idea!!!!
- bbbbeannnniiies RRRRRRRRULLLLLLLLLLLLLEE
- I LOVE BEANIES!!! THEY ARE WHAT I LIVE FOR!!!
- My two girls have been enthusiastic collectors of beanies for quite some time. They used to easliy be able to save their allowance to make their own beanie purchases for their collections. This has become increasingly difficult as retail prices for the
- I think they should keep the prices reasonable so kids could afford them , Beanies originally were put on the market for kids.
- I love Beanies and love this page to death!
- I really detest secondaries that don't know their retireds form the currents and charge a fortune because of it!
- i dislike the greed involued.
- I think Pounce will have a name change becaus of the cat treat Pounce
- It is fun & you meet lots of nice people.
- I wish I could get ALL the Beanies but I won't pay the ridiculous price for some of them
- Great for all ages and they create a delightful feeling of being young again after a long, long day of working
- i DONT LIKE THE STORES CHARGING MORE FOR THE BEANIES THEN ISSUE PRICE ESPECIALLY FOR THE NEW ONES.
- continue the retirement trend.it may help me retire some day.
- I wish Ty had an email address for us to send out comments to. I wish there was an 800 number to call for Ty for comments and questions. I wish that we could report Ty direct dealers for taking their entire stock of Princesses and Erins and other hard to find Beanies and making it impossible to buy these for retail-$5.00. I also wish Ty would watch ebay and see how many lots of 12, 36, and more of Erins, Princess and Brittania are put up obviously by their direct retailers. Thank you for the
opportunity to voice my opinion.
- beanies rock our world.
- I love Beanie Babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I wish they weren't so difficult to find!!
- i dislike the hording on the secondary market of the beanie that are specialty like erin and princess.
- The only thing that I dislike is that Princess was originally made to be a fund raiser for Princess Diana's charaties. They weren't enough made for everyone who wanted to contribute to the fund & have one of these Beanies. I think Ty should make more & make them more available so that even more money can be made for the fund.
- the secondary market is ruining it for people who are collecting it isw hard to find the jan. new beanies
- Very tired of authorized retailers joining the secondary market. My child loves to collect them, has no intention of selling them, and with the high speculative prices on the current ones, can't afford them on her allowance. It's out of control!! Also, they retailers who rip the public off, are no longer patronized by us, and we know of many other people who feel and act the same way. The way they price and handle BB's, will either make or make many retailers.
- I JUST HOPE THAT THE PHENOMENON WILL GO BACK TO THE KIDS. I GET REALLY MAD WHEN THE SECONDARY BUY UP THE STOCK AND REQUIRES ME TO PAY VERY HIGH PRICES FOR THE BEANIES. AND THE FACT THAT STORES CHARGE HIGHER AND LIMIT THE NUMBER OF THE NEW RELEASES.
- This is becomng nuts...Ithink we all need help, but not before we get THE one we really want.
- I feel this whole situation is but a craze and many people will over spend family money. What was a childs collectible has become out of reach for the child. I has become a case of greed and children are innocently drawn into a collectors, over priced would. Let the children collect and play with them. As a dealer on the retail market, it takes many hours a day answering phone calls about Beanies, when our employees need to be working at other things. I don't want to sound too negative. Yes it has incr
ased my business for the time, but I know that this too shall pass. I still charge $6.00, since the cost of shipping is 5% of the wholesale order. I do not like the attitude that we see and experience, when we can not answer "When do you expect the next shipment?" As a dealer, we never know when Ty will ship, until they come in the door. It is a cute and a very good sell through. Have enjoyed most of the customers that do shop in our store, but would like the "Beanie" customers to consider the fact that we
carry more than beanies and have and plan to be here long after this craze is over.
- I don't like the fact that people resell BB's, and that I have to compete with those people to buy a beanie for my own personal collection.
- I DISLIKE PEOPLE RAISING THE PRICES ON BEANIES AND I DISLIKE THAT THE BEARS ARE SO HARD TO COME BY. I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER GET AN ERIN OR A PRINCESS BECAUSE OF THE INSANE PRICES THAT PEOPLE ARE ASKING FOR THEM AND I DON'T BELIEVE THAT TY MEANT FOR THIS TO HAPPEN, THEIR ARE ALOT OF DISAPOINTED CHILDERN OUT THEIR WHO CAN NOT AFFORD THESE PRICES AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THEIR COLLECTION. JUST TO MANY GREEDY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD TODAY.
- I dislike the greediness which is ruining the innocence of collecting these items. It seems that Ty is allowing their goose that laid the golden egg by unethical dealers and which allows a corrupt secondary market to exist.
- I dislike the fact that adults have so perverted a neat thing like beanie babies. I'm appalled by the sale notices afor hang tags and the repetitios notes about buying for big bucks retired or hard to find, so that they can resell at an even higher price.
- I think the are beautifully designed...don't see how they can wholesale them for $2.50!!! They are a very inexpensive and fun hobby. I bought a Princess on the Internet for $175, and averaged the cost with 2 friends for the 2 I had paid $6.50 and $7.00 for, so my 2 friends and I averaged $63 each. I was nervous buying the one on the Internet, but checked out the Good Trader list (which I can't seem to find now)...I would have been VERY upset if I had gotten so carried away with this that I got rippe
off. But it was a perfect deal, and I have a new Internet friene. Take care!
- Wish I'd discovered beanies much sooner!!
- I'd like to see a set of deer-JANE DOE/SHAWN the fawn ?
- n/a
- I lOVE BEANIE BABIES, unfortunetly I don't have much money.
- love them!
- I think it all started with the ty beanies at McDonalds. If that would have never happend then alot of us wouldn't have a clue what they were!
- New bears such as Princess, Erin & Britania should not be going for $200+. They've just come out!!!
- New bears such as Princess, Erin & Britania should not be going for $200+. They've just come out!!!
- I think TY should make a "ferret" beanie, I know lots of people who would buy them.
- I think that it is wrong, what is happening to the Princess bear. I have seen retailers selling it for $150 and not donating the money to chariyt. This is wrong. I don't like the secondary market 95% of the time. They are extremely greedy. Especially on Princess and new beanies. I am positive they do no tell their customers that they can purchase those beanies very soon at retail price. I don't believe in price gauging. The only time I have ever bought secondary market is on three occassion. That means
I have 62 of my beanie babies from either trading or from retail. I think that Ty should be making more of these things instead of less. I do not like Beanie Babies as a collectible, I collect them for the thrill of the hunt and they are cute for #1 reason. This is causing a huge drop in other collectibles. For example, Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments, Precious Moments, Cherished Teddies, Dept.56, Coca Cola, and Boyd's Bears. Their is a huge drop right now in these collectible lines. I blame Beanie Babies.
- I think they are really cute, but some are way too expensive!
- I think that Beanie Babies should have more control (price-wise) on their retailors. Beanie Babies should also be easier to find.
- It is fun going to a store and finding beanies that I do not have. I love giving them away to my friends & family, kids that otherwise would not get them, nursing homes, fund raisers. What I really dislike are the retailers who are so greedy. In my area, they sell new ones for anywhere from $15 to as high as $300. I like the idea of retirements, that is what keeps the hunt going. It just makes it more exciting. I work nights, so it is very easy for me to shop and look around during the day. Although, w
th the retailers in our area, I do not frequent the stors that often anymore. Most of the people around here are finding better things to do than go in stores & get snubbed because we refuse to pay the high prices they ask.
- Prices will skyrocket when McDonalds does another round of Teenie BB this spring.
- I enjoyed buying Beanies for my boys (6&9) to play with and now I find them getting too high in price. I dislike that it is so difficult to get the new ones without spending double the cost or standing in line forever.
- I don't like making beanies like Princess & Erin so scarce that you have to pay so much for it! It's impossible to get Brittania without going to secondary market too!Do they want to drive us crazy?
- I just think Beanie Babies are great!!!! But I think the prices of them now are totally ridiculous.
- I think beanies are going to be hotter than ever after teeny beanie day II at McDonald's
- Authorized dealers should have quotas to allow more people to be able to buy BB and prevent secondary markets from buying cheap and selling high. They should also keep the price at $5-$7.
- no comment at this time
- I was really disappointed with the way ty handled the Princess Bear. The aftermarket sold them for ungodly prices and I'm quite sure that the money they earned did not go to charity. Even in the stores they are selling them for at least $200. It's a pity ty didn't produce more.
- I wish TY would produce the volume of beanies needed to satisfy public demand, especially the more popular styles such as Princess. Eventually , some of us parents may get fed up and stop collecting.
- Because so many unauthorized dealers are buying beanies to sell on the secondary market it is hard for regular people to buy beanies from authorized dealers.
- It's unbelieveable!!!!!
- Wish they would fill them with something else
- I think Ty can improve their shipping schedules!!
- I hate how Ty makes beanies like Princess and Erin that they will only release in limited quantities.
- i like all the beanies, i wish i could find them easyer, ty should make a set of 101 dalmation dogs next- make each dog different
- no
- Specialty holiday beanies should be available earlier and more readily before the holiday
- i wish more poeple would like beanies so they would buy them from me
- I think retailers that are loyal to Ty and sell their beanies for suggested retail prices and stock only those received in regular shipments from Ty should get preferential treatment.
- I can't wait for McDonald's new Teenie Beanies!
- They will soon retire Bones the dog, Daisy the cow, Happy the Hippo, 3 bunnies, Gracie the Swan, and Blizzard the white tiger.
- princess & erin should be available to everyone
- Chilly is a bear. Chilly is not purple.
- Chilly is a bear. Chilly is not purple.
- I'm 13 and I wish Zip the cat was easier to find, he's so cute. If you know where I can find one e-mail me at magenta65@hotmail.com. Thanks! I love b.babies!
- i think that they need to make a peacock, cardinal, and a poodle. i also think that ty should set out certain prices for cfertain beanies. and that they should bring out every beanie at least for six months. thank you.
- I have collected beabies with my two girls, 7 & 13 since 1993. We loved them from then. However our love has wained a bit because of the secondary market and the retailer's attitudes towards beanie buyers. I have seen a some retailers in our community, who was a "dear people" turn into "monsters" over the profits they get by selling them at secondary prices. The thrill & fun is gone! I bought the last 10 new releases off the internet only because over the past three years, my girls get them as inc
ntives to do better in school & cooperate at home and my stock was depleted. However, I do not check the web sites 2-3 times daily nor do I stop at every strip mall while on vacation. But we still love beanies and I will still hold on to my older retireds to trade for the really HTF or sell for mega dollars as I did with extras of Flutter, Caw, Sting, Libearty & Kiwi. You guys do a nice job keeping people informed...I give you a lot of credit!
- Princess & Erin should not be sold at such a high price. $100 to $300 for beanie babies that are not retired yet is way too high for young collectors to purchase.
- when stroes sell tickets for lotterires
- Although I am a strong advocate of free enterprise and capitalism, I am concerned that my children can no longer purchase Beanies with their own money. Ty supposedly made Beanies to appeal to children. How can a child buy the "new" Beanies when retailers are only being allowed to order 12-36 of bears like Princess and Erin? The secondary market keeps retailers alive and keeps the demand for Beanies high, but the craziness is being caused by Ty releasing so few Beanies into the market. Demand would not
uffer if retailers were allowed to receive 200 pieces each! Values would still be high and consumers would not be so frustrated! Also, Ty should be concerned about retail accounts who receive their shipments of Princess, Erin, etc. and then sell the whole lot to a secondary dealer. What chance does the consumer have at that point? Is this what Ty wants? Why not just charge $50-$100 at the outset and forget the secondary market all together? As far as retailers charging what they want, if the consumer will
ay, let them charge what the market will bear.
- The thrill of the hunt.
- I wish there were more authorized retailers in rural areas. My niece and nephew live in rural michigan and its impossible to find a store that carries bb's. I would like to see a safe arena for children to "find" bb's if they can't find them in their areas. Internet is not the place for children to search for bb's. Any suggestions from you where a child can safely search???????
- I have high blood pressure and when I hold one of my Beanie Babies my pressure goes down. It sooths and calms me immediatly !!
- You should issue more endangerd spicies.
- I only need Princess & Erin- I don't like the idea of the limited supply from Ty, and the stores letting the employees have them. Also, when attending the BB convention in Phila., it had to be store owners selling their inventory of Princess & Erin for anywhere between $200.-350. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
- People should stop buying current beanies for inflated prices, such as Princess&Erin. As long as they do the secondary market will continue to flourish. And the rest of us will continue to be frustrated.
- I think that the other members of the original 9 will retire soon, along with Princess, Peace, Iggy, Hissy, and Rainbow.
- greed can take the fun out of it
- I dislike retail stores that are able to purchase BB's at regular prices and then mark them way up. Also, I don't like it when the stores sell one person a whole bag of a particular beanie. I do not own a Princess or Erin, however, a friend was able to acquire six Princess' from a Nordstroms because the salespeople didn't want to deal with the nasty crowds. Also, I would like Ty to deliver many more of the new ones and retire others faster. I figure that by doing this people will balance out their
uest for the new ones with their search for the remaining ones on shelves that have retired. I do not feel that stores should be allowed to sell for the retired prices!!!!
- I think that the cats like Blizzard, deserve more credit, and should retire next.
- I think that Erin, Brittania, And Princess are extremely over priced, kids everywhere want one and then they find out that they cost, they are children's toys, why not make it where the kids can afford them, they shouldn't have to spend there life savings on a bag of beans, no matter how cute it is.
- I LOVE BEANIES!
- I really HATE it when stores jack up the prices. Thursday (3/19) I saw Erin for $249 dollars. 249!!!! She is brand new!!!! That really ticked me off. I think Ty should drop stores who sell for crazy numbers like that. Especially with Princess. All Ty's profits from her are going to charity. You would think stores could be a little less greedy and sell her for $5.00 like they're supposed to!!!!! Only retireds should, in my opinion, sell for more than $7.00. Whew, I'm glad to get that out. I know not ev
ryone will agree with me, but this is just my opinion.
- Ty should make the following animals: a chipmunk, a goat, a starfish, a prairie dog, a chicken, and another polar bear
- can not find erin under $200!!!
- Collie Pup
- I hate it when retailers charge too much! It isn't fair!!
- Collie Pup
- I think all the bears are going to retire soon
- Collie Pupin' cool
- I wish it were easier to find the ones I want.
- The Princess Bear should be sold as a regular item
- Beanies have provided a common interest with me and my kids....It is fun to collect together!!
- I love it and hope it continues
- Me and my mom have brainstormed and we figure that the beanie babies have got to have some sort of magic in the beans! We've only been collecting them for 5 weeks and we have almost 90 beanies!! We just thought that we were going to collect the beanies that we liked and the !KAZAAM! we have almost 90 beanies in 5 weeks! We just recently picked up a PRINCESS for a very good price.
- Beanie Babies are very popular! They are the hottest thing to get.I like then very much.
- i want beanies
- I think that retailers that put outrageous prices on beanie babies should be punished. I am very happy with my local Hallmark. They sell every beanie for $6.00 or less. That's the way beanies were meant to be. As far as I know, retailers get the current beanies for $2.50 each and get Princess and Erin for $12.00 each!!!!!! For goodness sakes, they don't need that much profit anyway!!!! They're selling enough!!!!! It's not like they can't sell them!!!! You know what? I'm going to start a petition and fo
ward it to Ty Inc. If you agree with all that I just said, pleeeeeeeeeese send me an E-Mail at Catz26266@aol.com. I'll put your name on the petition ( don't forget to include your name in the letter) and after I get a lot of names, I'll send the petiton to Ty Warner. Have a great day, and may all your Peanuts be royal blue!!!!! ------------------------ Isabel (Izzy)
- speedy is sooooooooooooo cute
- We need to take a united stand against snippy retailers who make you feel like second class customers when you buy beanies. I have curtailed all buying for ANYTHING from my local Hallmark stores, from A FIne Affair, Newport Beach, CA, and from Whale of a Tale, Irvine, CA for their snotty attitudes when you ask about beanies. There are enough stores out there that are nice that you can find a $5.99 Peace from that I don't need grief from these places. If I was a retailer, I would thank my lucky star
that I had a product that sold for a 3x markup, minimum, and was guaranteed to sell out before the next shipment. I would court the customers who bought this product; I would certainly not sneer at them! Believe me, as a former retailer I can tell you that beanie babies are a retailers' dream product and if a retailer embarrases you for buying a product that helps pay their rent then they should switch occupations. I think if enough of us "just say no" to snippy retailers they might change their attitu
es.
- I hate it when grown-ups try to sell the beanies for hundreds of dollars! Why can't they let us kids have our fun- and have it cheaper than $500!!
- You should only sell retireds for high prices, not ones like Erin, Princess, Brittainia, ect.
- It bother me to think when I call to check if a store has a certain beanie, there is a possibility that they are not telling the truth-as later I find out.
- That when you put out new bb you make enough so the store have alot of them to sell and not drive the prices up for the secondary stay low. So many people buy the bb and try to make a mint of the other people.
- i don't like when retailers over charge by ALOT
- I LOVE BEANS!
- I tottally LOVE BEANIES! KILL SECONDARY MARKET! BRING ON CHEAP STORES!
- I thought these beanie babies were intented for kids, not overly greedy adults. Retailers are pricing Princess and Erin for way to much money. If they want to make some money for Princess Diana's memorial fund they should make them more available so they can have more money contributed. Those prices are outragesly stupid.
- Beanie babies have brought happiness to my life
- I have not seen any Blizzards with 5th generation tags!
- I think Choclate will retire next.
- I think having beanie babies that represent different countries or certain holidays is a great idea. However, I think those beanie babies should be available world-wide to prevent the secondary marketers buying up all of a retailers supply and then charging exorbitant prices.
- I was watching "David Letterman" the other night and he said himself that he might mass produce Princess.
- I think the rest of the orignal nine beanies will be retired next
- I am becoming so frustrated with retailers who overcharge for Beanies and would like to see Ty taking some control. At one store, all 12 Erins received by the store were sold for $250 apiece in one weekend. The other January 1 releases were then being sold for $10. I realize that retailers will continue to do this as long as there are people willing to pay such prices but I would like to think there are some honest retailers out there -- I've found a few but they're the minority. Predictions: A ca
(Zip) will retire, a dog (Bones) will retire, an original (Pinchers or Patti) will retire, a pastel bunny will retire. Ideas: a ferret, a robin, a chipmunk, a deer, a goat. Thoughts on future releases: As usual, Ty will release new versions of retired Beanies (e.g., Hissy/Slither, Jolly/Tusk, Legs/Smoochy, Claude/Digger -- we might see a new camel, crow or mouse. Thanks for the opportunity to participate and vent a little!
- I don't think authorized dealers should be permitted to sell above a stated price.
- people are really rude and uncontrolable when looking. i feel that most people collecting for quick money should be ashamed of themselves. being a retailer , i get to see some of these parenst that call and sk about certain ones they are looking for - come in to buy it with their child - the child will ask for one and the parent is very indignet and won't buy one for the child. when we started selling them several years ago the beanie was a cheap cute pick up for the parent to take home . now the kids
can't even touch them. i personally keep a certain couple of my collection aside for sentamental reasons- but my 2 year old grandson can play with the rest. he dosen't hurt them the tags and everything is still intact and like new. he plays with them on my bed. it's a kids world -well it used to be. i go on the internet to keep up with my customers ,as they hear rumors and i try to keep up on things for them. the latest rumor is that ty is goinh to redo the ostrich and flamingo because kids can pull off th
legs/or head. hav e heard anything? i can't find any info on it - but they said they got the info off the internet. hence - adults are grabbing them up.
- I want a Border Collie with one black eye
- fluffy the cat
- I THINK THAT THE REST OF THE ORIGINAL 7 WILL RETIRE, AND VALINTINO, PEACE,AND THE 3 BUNNIES, I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE A OLYMPICS BEAR WITH THE OLYMPICS RINGS
- I would like beaniemom to sell beanie baby products of the inter net.
- Only interested in Beanie Bears
- I'm sick of seeing authorized Ty dealers raffling off every Princess and Erin they get and not stating it is for a charity.
- I would like beaniemom to sell beanie baby products of the inter net.
- It's really fun collecting beanies and exciting to see if the one you is retired or retiring soon and what the value will be. I am wondering though, how long this is really going to last and if I should start selling off my retireds at the current prices or wait it out to see if they will still increase. Who really knows?
- I think Claude is going to retire next because he's tye - died and I really want Fleece next or either Claude.
- retailers seem to be getting tired of beanie collectors
- I think that more reputable discount stores should sell them
- I love Beanies! I started collecting for my daughter, and have since started my own collection. I don't like new items being introduced but not available - like Erin - but I believe that helps raise the value of them. I've been extremely disappointed with trying to find Princess, Erin and the newest additions in any of my local stores. I believed Ty Warner when he said Princess would be all over the place this year. I look forward to the next retirement, but I hope they do not introduce as many new one
. I can't afford to continue two full collections if they introduce 40 new beanies a year! I would like to see more "Nations" Bears, but I would like there to be a US version of all of them! I think we should be able to purchase Maple, Britainia & any others here in the USA.
- I think Princess Di would be ashamed to see how much the Princess Beanie Baby is going for.
- Make some more!!!!!
- I don't like the fact that a retailer in my area sold her shipment of Princess to a greedy person at $300 a piece. I bet that Ty did not receive the money for charity!
- People are selling beanies for really high prices and it ruins it for us kids!
- All the Princess charity idea created was a BIG mess. The amount of money that it actually created, compared to the amount of greed shown by the store owners was pathetic. Mass produce the little guys and get the out on the store shelves where they belong.
- I have an idea for Poof the Puffer Fish
- I'm SO glad that Ty is retiring more often!!
- princess and erin prices are foolish
- i want to see a manx cat!!!
- The secondary market is out of control!!!!!
- So often, I find the attitude to be "beanie eat beanie" world
- Dislike Counterfeiters!!
- So often, I find the attitude to be "beanie eat beanie" world
- I think they shouldn't have retired Garcia. I never got a chance to get him! Oh and I think they should make another allgator except named Gator and his colors are scwithed with Ally's like in the spot green is brown should be!
- without major retirement, beanies will be enjoying a much longer shelf life than before. Most collectors have all but the new ones.
- don't like Europe only or Canada only releases
- I do not like how retailers, such as Hallmark, will get their alloted "12" in a shipment, and raffle off 5 to 7 and the others are never heard about. Their "raffles" I also question on validity. I also do not like how one store will sell for the $5.95 price, yet another, mostly out of greed, Learning Express in Glen Burnie, in particular, will sell from $10 to $15.00. These retailers are making a mint off of raising the prices on their own. I question who then makes the profits. Some like Erin and
Princess are just too hard to get and I think it's ridiculous.
- I think it is unfair and downright WRONG for retailers such as hallmark and other stores to let employees buy the beanie babies at an employee discount and then turn around and sell them for outrageous prices! I understand how the secondary market works, but I think this is wrong. Morally, it is wrong. There should be a limit an employee can buy, total, of any one design. The people at Hallmark are about to get boycotted by me, my family and my friends if they aren't careful. They sometimes act pu
out if you ask to switch a beanie you are thinking of buying. I'm not sure of any place that does not let you look over the merchandise to your satisfaction before you buy it, yet whenever I want to see more than one of a certain beanie, they act like I've just asked them to go out of their way. That IS their job! And I highly doubt they would have a good a business as they do if they didn't have beanies attracting customers not looking to buy their other overly priced merchandise. Spending over $3.00
on a childs b-day card is ridiculous! Anyway, can you tell I'm not happy with the people at my local hallmark? It only takes one person with an attitude to ruin a stores reputation and keep customers away!!! Thanks for letting me vent.
- Although the secondary market is good for the value of beanies, the dealers should have to stand in line just like the rest of us, instead of the retailers selling direct to the dealers at exorbitant prices. Beanies are for the kids, not the greedy adults that want to control the value of a beanie. Princess in dropping in value since Erin showed up, just wait until the next special beanie gets released, Princess and Erin will be dropping!
- It must be frustrating at times I am sure for the retailers who are inundated with calls, however if it weren't for consumers buying the beanies they would not be making a profit.......I appreciate POLITE, and friendly retailers and REFUSE to deal with Rude retailers who act as if EVERYONE they sell to is out to make a profit.
- I LLOOVVEE BEANIES. Some are to expensive exspecially when dealers get them for the most $12 and sell them for 3 and 4 hundred dollars.
- Beanie4Ever is the coolest!
- I would hope that Ty would send their honest retailers more of the beanies that are commanding the high prices;so the prices would be forced down to a reasonable amount.
- I think on the next retirement that they will retire Hoppity , Floppity and Hippity , Freckles , Gobbles , Blackie , Bernie , Princess
- Beanie Baby keychains would be great
- It is a shame that the "joy of the toy" was taken from the children. It makes me so sad to hear my son talk about monetary value when I used to hear him fantasize about being in the jungle with the cats! was taken away from the
- I wish we could find at least one store that will sell at the suggested retail price
- I dislike retailers that won't sell to the public. That is happening with Princess here in Mobile, AL. How is the collector who doesn't want to resale Princess get one. I just want one for me and one for my grandaughter. Also I want Erin and they're making it just as difficult to get. You'd think Erin was also a bear for charity.
- I do not like the way they went about Princess if they wanted the profits to go to the Princess Diana Fund why wouldn't they make alot for the fund instead of 12 for each dealer? That was REALLY stupid
- Secondary market has blown prices way out of reach of the children who these toy's were made for!
- could get more of the more popular styles
- I am only 12, and I hate having to spend so much on beanies, when all I want to do is play with them!
- I think stores need to be monitored more closely. I know of at least 2 who set the "biggies" aside and have people sell them at ridiculous prices...thus they never see the display cases.
- It is so hard to find Peace, Princess and Erin, was doesn't TY make enough so that everyone could have one without paying big buchs for them.
- erin and princess are well over priced
- I don't like people selling Garcia and Libearty for +200! while they cost 150-175
- Beanie collecting is contagious. I have "turned several people on" to collecting
- Beanie BAbies are AWESOME, but they should carry them in more stores.
- I dislike the fact that we can't find Erin and Princess. I'm not willing to pay the ridiculous prices and I wish they were more available.
- We're hoping to see a goat named Billy or nanny. We're also hoping for a pinto pony, a deer and a praire dog
- Beanies are fun but people are greedy and they are so hard to find at the price that most people can afford. thats my biggest complaint. thank you
- Even thought I feel that the secondary market helps increase the BB value, some of the secondary sellers are asking way too much; but, they're probably getting it, too!
- I dislike it when the older people buy all the new Beanie Babies before others can get them. Then they sell it for more. It is very unfair. They should remember the main reason Beanie Babies were started... for kids and to have fun.
- I like your site
- I am very disappointed in the way retailers are increasing the prices on bears such as Princess and Erin. They were intended to be affordable for children.
- keep status quo..no big chains carrying beanies
- I don't like the high prices on the new beanies and think Ty should ship more of the new beans. Paying more for the retireds is ok but to charge such high prices on the new beanies is unfair to children and if the reason Mr. Warner started beanies was for the children than he is missing the mark. A good thing about beanies is that they are so well made and very cute.
- I think that all Ty Dealers should loose the right to sell TY products if they charge more than $10 for a Beanie.
- I think they ask too much for beanie baby's, and should lower the prices, also make more so people can buy them!!!!
- It is ridiculous the prices the secondary market is charging for currents. It is also ridiculous the prices of Princess and Erin. I would love those two bears and would love to give them to a friend of mine but just can't afford to pay for them. I don't understand how authorized TY dealers can just raise the price on certain beanies.
- They are supposed to be for kids, aren't they? I don't think they should be for lining the pockets of secondary dealers.
- Ty needs to revamp this system. I have yet to see one store sell a Princess or Erin outright. Everyone is raffeling them off. I think Ty themselves need to set up a way to sell the speciality ones so that retailers can't sell them out the back door. This is getting ridiculous.
- I think they should stop selling any beanies that were made after95' for more than $10.00, especially if the beanies are not even retired. no one should sell them for more than $50.00 until at least the year 2000
- They are TOYS!!! I am sick of not being able to get a child one because it's new and $300 dollars. People are betting their retirements on these and they are going to end up losing.
- I dislike the "greedy" secondary market and those who overcharge for new beanie babies.
- I am really disappointed with TY on Princess Bear & Erin not making more and easier for us to get. We started a collection and everyone should be able to buy them.
- I think people that buy beanies and then sell them for way more than they're worth stink. They buy as many as they can, so when kids come, the dealers have already taken all the good ones.
- Help me find Erin
- I love this fad!!! The minute I realized how big it was and saw all of the web sites, and magazines and the variety of Beanies out there, I *knew* this was a fad for me! I collected Cabbage Patch Kid's when I was a kid, and this fits right in with me! I love trading and buying and selling. Everything about it. I wish that some people wouldn't think that it is wrong or that it is like the Black Market, because it is not and people should go after real criminals, not stuffed animal collectors!!!
- I dislike the fact that adults take this beanie baby phenomenon thing out of hand. Beanie babies are supposed to be for children. The adults have gotten way to greedy, and I'm sick of it! I also think that Ty is getting to greedy too! They could stop
- I think that aduls should stop hoarding all the newest and rare Beanies-they were originally meant for children at an AFFORDABLE price. I am 12 and I don't get money that often. I can't afford Princess and Erin at $150-$500 each!! I can't even afford $15 a beanie, for gosh sakes! Adults are too greedy-either they should stop hoarding them from little kids that were the target of this whole operation or the adults should give us some money!!! There are so many kids out there that can't afford highway ro
bery prices-we love Beanie Babies too, you know!
- i love the beanies. except some of the retailers have gotten greedy. and making the prices too high for kids and some adults to afford to buy. its suppose to be fun not outrageous and people fighting over them.
- More people need to relize that they can get currents (including $200+) from 1st market at $5-$8
- Personally, I collect to make money. I have a personal way of buying and selling that is strickly private exept between reletives. It will be very useful in the future.
- I hate the fact that Ty does not produce enough of the bears and that the prices are so ridiculous on non-retired bears from the very first moment that they are sold. Makes it very difficult for the average person to buy them.
- It's becoming very difficult to just "find" the beanies, the unusual and popular ones, because many retailers are keeping customer lists to fill before you get to the store. It tends to remove the thrill of the hunt.
- I really like it!!!!!
- Has anyone else noticed that the American school system seems to be failing to impart the ability to spell?
- I love Beanies!
- iT'S GOOD
- It seams to me that Ty is retiring the oringal nine two by two. I'm sure I'm not the first to see this but no one says anything
- ... 3/20... Ty needs to get some stuff under control, especially their website and info beanie... mail you get from Erin is from Spunky & Valentino
- The Beanie Baby phenomenom still has to take full effect where I live, but it is on its way!
- It's cool And I love Tim and Danny
- I don't like how a current (i.e.: Erin or Princess) is being sold for 3 digits!
- I wish there were enough bears for all!
- I think it's silly that prices for Erin should be so high!
- I think Ty retires some Beanies WAY TOO early!
- A HipTheCat is coming!! TIEDYED TOO!
- I think that TY should be the only ones who should be able to make beanie babies so that people can't cheat kids off their money
- I THINK THE CUSTOMER SHOULD ONLY ALLOW ONE OF EACH NOT TWO OF THE SAME BB ITS NOT FAIR ON THE NEXT PERSON IN LINE . I DO IT CAUSE IT FUN, NOT TO BE GREEDY LIKE SOME PEOPLE HAVE.
- BEARS ARE WAY TO MUCH PEOPLE SHOULD STOP BEING GREEDY AND GIVE CHILDREN WHO CAN'T AFFORD A PRINCESS OR ERIN BEAR BEANIE BABIES LIKE GARCIA OR LIBERTY
- Why are they so much?
- Greedy adultls have ruined them fir kids!
- I don't think that retailers should continue to order Erin and Princess monthy when Ty is not producing enough and distributing enough of them. Some retailers have never received the December order for Princess and has continually ordered them.. They are going for the rate of 100.00-250.00 and the kids can not afford them. It's ashame that such a special item such as Pricess is so far and few between.
- When it comes to retired merchandise, anything goes, but when dealersare charging $15-25 for currents, and selling Princess & Erin out the back door. I blame TY for inadequate distribution. Don't release a new baenie until you have produced an adequate supply. If millions of Princess were available, every child would have one, and millions would go to Diana's charity.
- I think some retailers sellin that are selling to the secondary market should be punished!
