Previous comments archived: Please describe your religious philosophy:
- There appear to be no real answers out there...what people find to be true is as real as it gets. I find that "truth" is merely opinion, and thus am lost.
- Life is like a refiners fire to test our faith and commitment to God
- There is no God but Allah and Prophet Mohammed is His last messenger
- There is one God, but many approaches. Spirit is our ultimate, eternal identity.
- There is a Source of All Sources. Ours is to unite with that Source.
- Religon has taken the blame for much destruction that has taken place in the past, it is time when we learn that it is not religin that sepperates people it is the fundamentalists that believe there is only one way to look at the world.
- We should not use religion to harass people.
- The Church is responsible for more killing than every drug and serial killer combined
- I feel organized religion is good for the people who enjoy it, but a person should be able to decide for him/her self what values and beliefs they have.
- Religion is an unessasary means of controling stupid people. Some day we will all understand this and still maintain peace through science and understanding.
- I believe we are surrounded by forces of good and evil. Choosing to embrace the goodness brings us joy and contentment.
- I believe in a universal, transcendant Eternal or Divine. But I believe everyone has their own personal religion.
- Jesus is the messiah prophesied of by the OT prophets. He is the only hope for eternal life. He is our personal saviour. There are only two types of people in the world, the saved and the lost.
- Truth is relative. The truth is in the mind of the believer. Many people die for their beliefs without having the same ones. To a man who believes he can fly, he CAN fly. Everyone else who doesn't is just not seeing through that man's eyes.
- Most aspects of formal religion are metaphors for an underlying truth beyond human comprehension - they need not be LITERALLY true to be valid.
- When you input irrational concepts like God, the output(behavior) displayed is unpredictable. I wish to build my behavior on the rock of fact and reason.
- Religion is something that everyone has to deal with in one way or another. I'm not that religious though.
- that god created evreyone and one day we'll be judged
- We all create the divine in OUR own image.
- I was raised roman catholic, but i very much respect the Bahai' faith. I believe all people are equal and of one god. I believe all religions stem from the same roots, much like Bahai. I believe in living in a communal society were people care about one another. I believe, like Karl Marx, that "religion is the opiate of the masses, however it is calming, soothing, needed..."
- I indicated that I was previously religious, but that was only for about a yr or two
- There is no way to be 100% sure that one religion is better than the other. As long as you're not hurting anyone or anything, and you feel good about yourself, then you're fine. People should just worry about improving the earth and the lives of the people and animals that are on it.
- I believe in the Trinity and that Jesus is the Son of God where by all must confess their wrong doings and live a blameless life. I also believe that Jesus will soon return to gather the Church to be with Him.
- If you died right now, would you know where you are going? Jesus loves you, and wants to give you the opportunity for eternal life. Deu 6:4-9, Num 6:24-26, Eph 2:8,9
- you are your own God
- Religious people need to get with reality and not run to a 2000 year old book whenever they have even the smallest problem in life. There is no proof that a god exists. We are all our own personal gods, and we decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong. These people are against everything that makes us feel good, and that is a shame. The church has no right to dictate to use how we control our minds, our bodies, who we sleep with, or otherwise. There is no devil, no god, and no Jesus. Anyone ho believes a virgin can get pregnant is just fucking STUPID! And since Jesus is supposedly the son of god, why is Joseph even in the picture?? And who the fuck is the pope to denounce homosexuality and pro-choice? FUCK HIM AND FUCK ALL RELIGIOUS PEOPLE! QUIT RUNNING FROM REALITY!!
- Religion is a personal choice. Organized religion is beneficial in a support capacity, but destructive in its relative intolerance of change. To me, Christianity and religion in general should practice what they preach: love, acceptance, hospitality, and faith.
- western dualism is a bane to society
- I need evidence. I only have a few shreds of that now.
- I do not believe the "religion" in the way used in the survey is of much value. Rather, I believe that believing in Jesus Christ for the salvation of our souls is the only way to eternal life.
- Islam is a complete way of life.
- Even though I am Catholic I don't believe there is one "right" religion. I find practices in my own religion that I don't agree with. I am also fascinated by other religions such as the Native American beliefs.
- I do not believe in religion. I believe in my own and other's spirituality.
- Jesus Christ, the Son of one, only, living, and creator God, is the only way to salvation. God loves you!
- my religious philosophy is that what one does and believes is between himself and god. Communicating with god is all that is important. Church attendance, typed of clothing worn , etc. will not influence god's decision to allow on to enter heaven.
- God has put us only on this earth for thesole purpose of worshipping and has given us free will as a test of our faith.
- I beleive that if I just just live to positively affect as many people as I can, then i'm doing just fine, religious or not.
- Religion should guide, not rule. Compassion, charity, and tolerance are key basics. Religion should stay out of secular affairs (gov.). To each their own.
- Allah is the one true God ( with NO partners) and Mohamad is his Messenger. Prophet Mohamad (peace be upon him) is the final prophet.
- to believe in something more than yourself is very important, religion groups keep people together giving them a sense of togetherness and support
- See Nicean Creed PS: You spelled Orthodox incorrectly!!!
- i believe that tere is God, and he looks over us like His flock of sheep while on this planet
- the belief in jesus is most important in my life
- LOVE
- What are the options?
- that religion was created because people were scared about death, so they created another being to look over them, i believe you return to the state you were in before birth
- Trust that Jesus Christ died for you, so that you could have ETERNAL Life and have a definate heart and mind change, and you will be saved. And you will spend eternity in Heaven. Stay away from False prophets such as Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses.
- THE ALMIGHTY GOD IS THE CREATOR OF THIS "UNIVERSE" AND HAS DOORS OF MERCY AND BLESSINGS OPEN TO US ALL THE TIME.WE TURN TO ALLAH DURING THIS TRANSITION FOR WE SHALL RETURN TO ALMIGHTY ALLAH WHEN OUR JOURNEY ENDS.HE IS MERCIFUL,OMNIPOTENT.AND THE MOST BENEFICIENT THE MOST MERCIFUL.
- religion sucks, spirituality overcomes
- I wish to adhere to the teachings of Jesus Christ and those completely faithful to His message.
- Religion is in the eyes of the beholder. People shouldn't blindly accept a religion's rules. They have become an institution and are most likely based on some false information from the past e.g. allegorical references in the Bible, changes in Christian Doctrine by popes, etc.
- Gods were made up by men in the past to explain the unexplainable. Many people believe in them today because it comforts them psychologically, it was the way they were raised, and the power of suggestion is strong.
- I am a reader and believer of the Urantia Book
- Religion Kills. It is poison to the people. Throughout the ages, religion has only been used to destroy people. Take the roman catholic church. They are probably the most notorious organization to ever exist.
- I am not "religious" I am a Christian...there is a BIG difference. To be a Christian it is to be Christ-like. You can worship the devil (satan) and be religious, but, in order to make Heaven your home you have to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Ask and it shall be given you, seek and you will find, knock and the door shall be opened.
- religion on the whole is a good thing as long as it is not pushed onto people, including children. It gives many people some comfort in their day to day lives and lets them feal more secure about life and death, and gives them some order. however, organized religion is not for me. religions that actively go out and seek converts are inheritantly evil. if the religion is that good, people will hear about it through word of mouth, its not neccesary for the fucking mormons to come to my door and tell me t at i should convert, and the same thing goes for those people who stand on the sidewalk uptown and preach. people who have the "holier than thou" attitude really have closed minds and if there actually is a god, then i doubt he would really care which religion you believe in, or even if you dont believe in religion, what god would care about if he exists is more likely whether someone is a good person or not, and you dont need religion to be a good person.
- What is real, is real. What is not real, is not real. What we believe about either changes neither.
- the world is only a preparation for another life
- Politics is boring.
- Religion is way too political right now. It should be based on your beliefs and morals.
- Religion could be good but has been perverted by fundies becoming a tool of bigotry and hatred towards others that don't agree with them.
- there is a supreme actor, God, who created us and has chosen to have personal relationship with us
- I am an active Christian woman, I am pro-life and do not condone living together before marriage, homosexuality or dishonesty - however, Christ never taught violent behavior or anger against those who don't believe the way I do - Hate the sin, Love the sinner ....
- Religion may have been useful and purposeful in early (ancient) times, but now it is just a massive BRAINWASHING of society and the people whom are stupid enough to believe everything they are told. Think and decide for yourselves; that is what makes us Human - the ability to CHOOSE.
- no lori
- Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven. If you do not have him you will spend an eternity in Hell.
- Religion is the basis of Civilisation, and can also be it's downfall. Freedom, Tolerance, Understanding and communication is muchmore important. Most religious books, guidelines are outdated for the world's current psychology.
- Religion has at times been used for good and at times for tremendous evil. It is the filler for a void in many people. I would not put it down but I believe that good and evil reside in the individual to varying degrees.
- Organized religion all delvivers the same message. Get it, or kill each other due to your own ignorance.
- For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotton Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
- religion should be found within the self, not taught
- Belief is important for dealing with what we do not understand.
- Your survey is centered on religion. I would much prefer that you had framed this in the sense of spiritual not religious, with subordinate questions about religion. Life is a spiritual pilgrimage.
- Not religious; Objectivist
- Stubbyism
- I beleive evryone is here for a reason, and once you find your reason, you can never loose it or you will be eternally lost. I beleive thier is a higher being out there, somewhere, and that they are watching over everyone.
- Jesus said 'I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to God the Father but by me." John 14:6 " For by grace are you saved thru faith, not of yourself. It is the gift of God, not by works, so no man can boast". Ephesians 2:8-9
- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowlegde him and he will direct your paths.
- religion is a personal issue and should not be used to oppress others. i hate it when i am condemned for being different, or just for being an atheist. there is a definite air of "we're better than you because we're christian"- in the form of trying to
- No proof for 'supreme beings', Scientfic evidence for natural evolution and universal creation. I'll keep following what is proven rather than some ancient works of fiction.
- By promoting intolerance, religion is socially pernicious, particularly when its adherents attempt to impose their beliefs upon the law. Even worse, of course, is when they attempt to impose those beliefs upon persons by use of force.
- i had a religion, but lost it. now i'm looking 1)for a different one (possibly) 2)why/how i lost it
- I am a devout athiest, who uses the discordian "religion" to parody other religious sects. i consider religion a bad influence on individuals, although it is possible it is a nessecary lie for socioties.
- I believe that there is one God, that individuals must discover for themselves the best way to worship and serve that God, and that all people will one day come to Heaven, or whatever you want to call it. I don't believe in Hell or Satan, and I believe that all people are basically good.
- I practice an earth-centered religion and worship a God and Goddess who are immanent, rather than transcendant.
- Goddess is everything, Everything is Goddess.
- Treat people the way you want to be treated. Turn the other cheek. Forgive. Love one another. Love the sinner--hate the sin.
- ahlul-bayt
- Ibelieve the Bible is Gods holy word WEshould live by it
- I believe religion is a personal belief system. The wisest Catholic Priest I ever met commented on my Wiccan religion by saying, "I may not agree with you, but who is to say who is right and who is wrong?"
- I am a pagan anarchist. I believe in all of the old gods and ancient beings, there is more to the universe then we will ever comprehend. Time has no begining or end.
- Religion is a personal thing..but it is scary when people will follow it to perfection even if they do not agree.
- Not sure exactly what's being asked, but Jesus is the key. He died so that you could have eternal life... he'd literally rather die than live without you... "No Jesus, No Peace... Know Jesus, Know Peace!"
- jesus freak
- I am also a member of Jews for Jesus
- Jesus Christ is the only way to God and to get into heaven. If you do not belive in Him and what He did for you you are lost and will spend and eternity in hell apart form God where there will be weeping and nashing of teeth
- Religion will not save you. Only Jesus can
- not sure what to believe. basically believe what i can see.
- Without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, each person is lost. If you don't believe in Jesus Christ or think He can make a difference in your life, I have a challenge for you: Live your life for 30 days as if you do have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. At the end of 30 days, you can decide what to do, continue in your walk with Christ or walk away from God completely. God bless you!
- Jesus is the way the truth and the life
- trust in Christ and you will fellowship with God for eternity
- smile
- Jesus is coming back soon. Be ready.
- Christianity isn't a religion its a relationship with God through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
- If you look at all of the major religions they are all very similiar in the respects of the morals and values they teach. I believe that it doesnt matter that much what ideology one believes in as long as they hold the basic beliefs that society has stre
- I believe in the death, burial and ressurection of Jesus Christ. You must attain salvation through the Blood of Jesus Christ and recieve Him as your Personal Savior.
- Please, follow Him (Yesus), there is key to happines and eternal peace
- Just the word religion stirrs negative feelings in me. I belive that everyone can benefit from experiencing some form of spirituality but that there is no need to conform to a specific religion to accomplish this.
- There is one God, and in the end every thing will blow to him
- Love God with all of your heart and love your neighbor as yourself
- Jesus Christ is the key to eternal life
- I think our conscious mind was given to us as a kind of guide in our actions. I believe in forgiveness from God if you truly want it, and that Jesus was a perfect being. Religion is a crucial part of my life. Without it, I'd be forever lost.
- There are many ways to worship God. What religion you use to get closer to Him doesn't matter in the end.
- there are many hidden truths in the bible. there is a chosen people(i.e. race), yet all are to be respected. love of God is the most impt. quality and that if one truly and thoroughly loves God the truth(s) will be revealed.
- I am spirit filled and believe God is the only way for true salvation
- Only by studying all the modern scriptures, the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Pearl of Great Price and the Doctrine Covenants can you receive complete joy!
- Christians and Muslims suck, Hindus rule!
- There is a Source of all things that is both good and evil, it has no sex, it has no race, no form. Humans interact with this Source through Gods, that includes Jehovah, Cernunnos, Shiva, Athena, Great Father, Great Mother, ALL gods and goddesses are part of the Source, and Humans are part of them. All things are part of the Source, that means trees, rocks, plants, animals, even humans. Religion isn't found in a book. Balance is important.
- There is no God but Allah and Mohammad is his last prophet
- Jehovah's witness
- religion is bullshit
- Jesus said: Unless a man in born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)
- i personally do not like religion at all. It causes too many problems.
- If you don't have god to help you then you end up going to psychologists and therapists.
- Religion is man's search for God, whereas the Bible teaches that God has revealed Himself to man through Jesus. This is God's grace and man's only hope. The Bible is God's word.
- We are all seperate people with seperate experiences that influence our religious beliefs. I practice tolerance of all people and their beliefs, but will protest those that attempt to impose their beliefs upon everyone.
- I was raised Catholic, but began to question my faith as I got older. I finally came to the conclusion that I was more of an agnostic than anything else. I was never able to fully believe in the theology, even when I attended parochial school. I always felt out of place. Now, I don't practice any religion except kindness towards other people.
- I see God as an entity whose body is the universe... and he/she has Multiple Personalities, and we are some of them.
- I like Whitman's philosophy. I try to find everything I need in myself
- Without religion, there is no guidance nor appreciation of Allah.
- God is in Control
- I feel that spirituality is about developing a personal relationship with the divine, and "Religion" is a controlling, destructive force that gets between people and divinity, in order to make sure that all believe as the controlling class.
- Lack of religion in the homes is a cause of violence in America.
- I believe that the universe must have been started somehow, but though i'm not sure how, i will not believe in any religion that can't prove it is the right one.
- Religion is the enemy of DEMOCRACY.
- It is important to have a spiritual framework, a set of beliefs thjat transcends everyday life and helpos one face life and our own mortality.
- Do your best to live a good life. Do onto otheres as you would have them do to you!!!!!!!
- Respect for others beliefs is paramount. Personally, I am atheist, but have strong humanist moral beliefs.
- The important thing is to respect other people's beliefs, however it's ok to question the logical processes by which they came to their conclusions.
- "all positive paths lead to deity" and the Wiccan rede: "As ye harm none, do as ye may"
- I love and am friends with God. He is the one who gives HOPE and looks after and loves us even when others don't.
- Jesus is- the Way, the Truth, and the Life!
- I don't believe in God, or any other supreme being, but I won't go out and try to tell everyone who doesn't agree with me that they are wrong, and will suffer eternaly. I belive that religion is a personal choice, and someone should not be threatened into changing their beliefs. While I think that the concept of God is rediculous, I do not go arguing with everyone about it. Religion has created many evils (crusades, wars, etc.), but has also created some good (Mohter Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr., etc.) People should be judged by who they are, not what religion they are.
- religion is the problem, not the answer
- There is a grain of the truth in all religions.
- someone elses religious beliefs should not infringe upon my freedom
- Jesus Christ died so that we may live
- love one another
- It's hubris to pretend to "know" anything about the supernatural. Faith is fine, but you should recognize it's weak epistemological basis and not try to foist it on others. IMHO, keeping an open mind is preferable to any "belief", whether in a religious or scientific paradigm. SKEPTICISM IS TRUE HUMILITY.
- "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him." - Voltaire
- Treat others as you wish to be treated. Accept change.
- there is some sort of higher being - what? it is unsure,
- Anyone who thinks they know what's going on most definately doesn't have a clue, I think. Honestly it is a mystery, and all aspects are quite mysterious.
- Jesus was the great reformer of Judaism, while Christianity is just an extension of that. No one comes unto the Father except through him (Jeus the Messiah).
- I feel that we as a society should be more liberal in our tolerance of others beliefs. I feel that is a nonchristian i am looked down upon. We need more religious freedom, or our country will loose the freedom that we have.
- Well, being a Christian, I believe that if you are not saved by Jesus Christ then you are lost. Therefore, if you are lost when you die , you will go to hell. I believe it because the bible says so.
- I have studied religion in college and have determined that Islam is the best choice. I follow the jafaria school of thought
- I LOVE JESUS
- The proof of GOD's existance is speaking his language or in tongues. If you do believe in JESUS but have never told him so he won't keep you, because Satan believes in GOD too. There is a line as thin as a nail that determines whether you go to heaven or hell and one step in the wrong direction (like being born) and your a goner. But it's OK, there's a second solution. JESUS got tourtured and killed so that whoever may call on him for forgiveness may be forgiven because we're all born sinners. GOD will forgive anyone who askes and you will be included in the book of life and you'll go to heaven (YIPPIE). Heaven is like a kwadzillion times better than the altimate feeling you have felt. Hope to see you there.
- To set my life around religion not the other way round
- I know Jesus is the way, but I keep getting side-tracked by today's pleasures. It'
- God is our Father and we're all brothers and sisters in his eternal family.
- I believe in a moderate Christianity, but I feel many people take on religion because of their own insecurities.
- I believe that Islam is a total way of life. Either take all of it or don't even bother.
- It is right if it makes you a better person.
- The Covenant with God and His mercy dictate that when spirituality declines and gives way to materialism, the link to God is renewed in the form of another Messenger to bring us back to spirituality(roughly every 1000 years or so). "This is the changeless Faith of God, eternal in the past , eternal in the future." Baha'u'llah
- REligion shoulod be personal. I was a very devote christian till the hate that most of them exsude became so apparent . Now I only belive in my heart and want NOTHING to do with those people
- I believe that humanity is God's greatest creation but is imperfect and that the entry of God into history in the form of Jesus Christ is the most significant event in human history since creation itself. I believe He calls each of us to accept Him personally. I am concerned that many people--Christians and others as well--are less interested in what is true than what works and what feels good. I didn't check evolution or creationism even though I mainly consider myself a creationist because some cr ationist material is poorly researched though the intentions are good. I care about homosexual people but still consider the homosexual act to be in the same category as sexual relations with animals. (I don't approve of that either, if you're wondering.)
- God is my backbone & Jesus my heart.
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- I believe that there is a general set of universal truths, like the ten commandments outline, but beyond that, each person has to find what feels right to them. I believe that everyone is born with an innate sense of good and evil, and learning how to listen to God is the biggest challenge in distinguishing the difference more effectively.
- God Loves his creation and cares for us.
- mine is very personal, came to me naturally (by complete surprise!) and is the most powerful ingrediant in life i could ever begin to emagine. since THE experience, i have studied nonstop all areas of such. all is related, all is balanced, all is god. all is ok and will be decided as on ongoing evolution without beginning nor end. there will be some moments that stand out though. the best is yet to come as is the worst. we make our own reality both jointly as we interact and independently depending upo our viewpoint. micro/macro. as above/so below. etc etc etc...
- We are here to serve the All Mighty and to Him we will return...so worship Him and beleive in His forgiveness and generosity.
- Religion teaches us to love each other... and that's god's greatest gift to us
- Before I found religion, I was very unhappy. I now have a very bright outlook on life. Without my Heavenly Father I could not face another day of my illness.
- We are to turn (repent) from breaking God's commandments and all other sins are turn to god to and believe that Jesus Christ died for our sin on the cross, rose from the death and can forgive us our sin and save us from eternal punishment as result of our sins. Once we have turned to God we are to obey His Word and share the Good News with others and live a life pleasing unto God.
- The afterlife probably feels the same as the beforelife - NOTHING! Also I'm guessing time has no beginning! WAKE UP!!!! You blind believers! BAAAAA!
- There is no God but one and Prophet Muhammad is the last Messenger of God.
- I believe every one will believe what they want to. I personally don't believe in God or Satan, heaven or hell. I think we are on this earth for a reason, but it is only a short amout of time. I think a lot of people waste a lot of their time worshiping something that may not be there. Take life at it is. Don't try finding an explanation for it.
- We must acccept Jesus as our personal Saviour. Once we have done so we can rest assured that he has a place in heaven for us.
- Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength. And then love your neighbor as yourself.
- If one does not know Jesus Christ as his/her personal savior, they will go to hell when they die, no if's and's or but's about it.
- To me Islam is a comprehensive way of life. For someone to understand true Islam it is important to look at the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be up him) and not to the cultural and socio-political pollutants that many people practice. True Islam is the answer to success in this life and the hereafter. The Qur'aan and its teachings must be looked at aside from what ignorant people say. Go to the people of knowledge to really understand Islam.
- Religion is not rules of likes and dislikes, religion is about spiritual closeness and love for God, and seeking guidance from God. Without the guidance of God, we are alone, lost, and have no moral goals. God teaches those who belive and have faith about the right path in life. God IS the Creator and owner of this world. One day the Creator of the world will ask us all about what we have done to make this world a more loving and peacefull place and what we have done to thank him for all of life's eauties, and too many of us will stand speechless!
- I am a muslim who has tremendous respect for Jesus, Moses, Krishna, Guru Nanak and all of God's true Prophets and Saints. I believe that being on the Sufi Path has also helped me be a better muslim and a better human being. Islam teaches moderation, tolerance, and peace. Most of these so-called "muslims" you see in the news who commit terrorist acts are going completely against Islam in the name of Islam. A good place to learn more about Islam is on this page: www.suficompassion.com
- If there were more respect for any form of relationship with God, or any form of religion that encourages peace, the World would most likely not have as many problems as it does.
- No matter what happens in todays world we find comfort in knowing that God is in control.
- I don't accept that any 'religion' will save you. I believe that God will save you and that He has revealed His plan in the Qur'an
- No matter what happens in todays world God is in control.
- SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTISM. STUDY IT, LEARN IT, KNOW IT
- i think you should respect others and not infringe upon their rights to religious belif or life style, as long as they do not infringe upon yours
- Has anyone ever tried to find out the cause-and-effect in utopia?
- Religion and worship for me are means by which to humble myself before my creator. The practices taught to us by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) make me feel more close to God because when I remember Him, He also remembers me.
- The Universe lies within us and beyond us. It had no beginning and no end. There are a million "truths" but no single Absolute Truth. There are many paths to the goal. What is the right path for one is not necessarily suitable to another.
- I think religion is a mind thing, that works for us all,the key is to find what works for you.
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- The wiccan Rede An it harms none, do what thu wilt
- That one must believe in Allah and only him, and Muhammad (PBUH) is his last messenger. We believe in the angels, the Books (Quran, Torah, and Bible), the prophets, the day of ressurection, and the divine destiny either good or bad.
- God: We have not created man, except to worship me.
- islam is a way of life: tells one how to spend your whole 24hrs as Allah wishes them to be spent
- I'm very confused about religion at this point in my life
- "To Allah belongs the East & the West & wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah, for He is Omnipotent, All-Knowing...And your god is Allah. There is none but The One, The Compassionate, The Merciful." Holy Koran
- I believe in GOD(ALLAH)the eternal creator and sustainer and i believe in all his messengers .THERE IS NO GOD BUT ALLAH AND MOHAMMED IS HIS MESSENGER
- gnosis. discover. grow.
- One God. We were Created to worship our Creator only. The definition of worship is to obey God's Laws, which are all that is Good. Interestingly!!
- I perceive the workings of my gods in every part of my life. I don't ask you to perceive as I do -- I ask you not to ask me to perceive as you do. Saying that your religion is true because your religion's holy book says it's true is circular logic. I don't believe so much as worship -- my own religion is one of orthoPRAXY rather than orthoDOXY. I am a polytheist and don't necessarily believe that there must be ONE supreme being. Religions that insist on conversion because theirs is the One True Right nd Only Way to Salvation are diseases -- viruses of the soul. Thank gods I'm immune.
- I believe Jesus is the only way, religion is a replacement for relationship with God, Gay are to be loved but I don't agree with lifestyle, eternal security of salvation, salvation is a free gift in Christ.
- The purpose of my religious activity is to know myself, and so to come to know the Self in all things. I worship my gods to align myself correctly with all the powers of the universe, and thus to move more harmoniously within it.
- ALL love is of God - Let those love now, who never loved before, and those who've loved before now love the more! (Epictetus) & It dosen't matter who you love, or how you love, but THAT you love. For any act of loving anyone is an act of loving God. The good in us is all the God there is. And loving is an offering to that Good and to that only God. (McKuen)
- True salvation is believing that there is One God who is neither begotten or begetten He forgives all sins except the great sin of associating partners with Him like for example He has a son,or He is part of the creations, God forgave Adam and eve because of His Mercy but He will never forgive associating partners with Him!!
- Allah created us all and is kind to all (in this world) whether we believe in Him or not. He fulfills all our needs and it is love that turns one towards Him
- God created the world then communicated to us ultimately through His Son and we should follow His words for happiness and eternal life.
- The Quran says that God Himself has decreed different paths of faith for people and that followers of different paths should only compete with one another in good works ( humanitarian causes). People should not dwell on their differences, breed intolerance, and take God - given lives. This is my religious and humanitarian philosophy.
- The reason why I believe so strongly in Islam did not exist when i was younger. As I grew older, I read and found out more from an intellectual's point of view. Ilam caters to the thinker and the educated. The value of its message simply cannot be measured.
- Wish for your brother what you wish for yourself (Saying of the Prophet Muhammad [May Peace Be Upon Him])
- Peace and harmony will prevail, if justice is based on God's commandments and not as we see it today- the powerful nations dictating what they want, irrespective of what is right and what is wrong, just or unjust. Good moral values, and justice based on Islam can certainly bring peace and harmony.
- Islam is the final revelation of God to mankind. I believe that there is no god but God and Muhammad(P) is his messenger.
- Greetings of Peace to one and all, just too much confusion and too many confusers, each religion proclaiming they alone have the answers, but if we examine them, none of them can bring "Peace" to mankind, except Islam, which embodies the best moral values for a lasting peace in this world and the hereafter.
- We believe in the oneness of God, who has no son and no wife. He is the ONE, and no one is like Him and no one deserve to be worshipped except Him.
- "Those who believe & do righteous deeds have nothing to fear, nor shall they grieve..." The Holy Koran
- Believe in ONE God (Allah), and obey Allah's commands
- I follow Islam because it is the "deen ul fitra", which means in Arabic, natural way of life. Man is naturally inclined to submit to his creator and Islam is the path. It is what is in your heart and conscience.
- Religion is the key to happiness and serenity.
- Islam is like a diamond to all those who desire the best in this life, and in the hereafter.
- A complete total submission to the will of the eternel creator and sustainer GOD
- Not to do any evil, to cultivate good, to purify one's mind, this is the Teaching of the Buddhas. In short, Sila, Samadhi, Panna.
- It is not about being "religous", It all comes down to whter or not you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
- There is someone who is aware of us and gives us a hand from time to time. Jesus should be another name for purity of love, tolerance and harmony.
- Just two things, that life was created for some reason, and that we as humans will not comprehend this "reason" in our physical life for very very long time ...if ever.
- I beleive that a person needs to be born agian.
- I think you should have replaced the word "Religion" with "Spirituality". I am not religious, yet I believe I am a quite spiritual person.
- God cannot be the foundation of morality. We must be good for goodness sake. The reward of goodness is being good and the punishment for evil is being evil. As Abraham Lincoln once said: "When I do bad I feel bad, and when I do good I feel good. That's my religion."
- god is the supreme being that we will have to answer to for all the good or bad deeds that wedo while living. we were born alone and no matter with howmany around . we die alone.
- Christianity is the downside of Western Civilization, choose you own path
- I'm GOD. Bow down. I have irrefutable evidence, but you wouldn't understand. So just go do amusing things until I smite you. How does that sound? Or do you have a counter-proposal? Is it any more logical than what I just put forth? No? Then get me a cup of Kenyan coffee and kill Jack Van Impe.
- I cannot believe something for which there isn't a shred of evidence.
- I belive in God the father, Jesus Christ his son, and the Spirit that they are three in one. That Jesus Christ came down to this earth as a baby, to save us from all of our sins. He was perfect yet he suffered under Pontious Pilate to save us all. The bible is Gods words and teaching to us and we should follow it in our everyday living. Jesus Christ is coming again and then it will be the final defeat of Lucifer, aka the devil, and then like the prophet John stated in the Book of Revelations, that e will live in eternal peace with all those christians and maytrs who have gone before us in a "New Jeruslem"
- I believe on the lord jesus dealth burial and resurection all was done to save sinners like me
- Religion is pointless.
- My mind is my weopon, My body is My foundation, My emotions make My world go around, and My desire contols all
- JESUS CAME TO SAVE THE WORLD, BUT IT'S UP TO USE TO ACCEPT IS CALL.
- Objective, scientific evidence supports this as the most likely conclusion: the supernatural and all it's subsidiary concepts, gods angels, ghosts, demons, heave, hell, reincarnation, etc. are myths and products of human wishful thinking and egocentric desire to be the most important part of the universe.
- Religion is unnecessary. Its net effect in creating the modern world has been terribly destructive. Individual religious (and non-religious) communities and practices range in effect from very beneficial to very destructive. Human beings can, and must by necessity, solve their own problems. Moral values developed as reasoned response to the world we live in are much wiser, more durable and more logically consistent than those enforced as religious dogma.
- There is a supreme being known as god or any other name. Every phenomena is the INdirect bond between nature and time.
- I think Christianity has done a lot of harm over time. I think more tolerance should be taught in schools and by parents re people with different views, etc. Christianity and some other popular religions tries to hard to dominate other people; it's the vi
- i believe that the existance of god can not be proved or disproved.
- I believe that all religions, with a few exceptions, contain a part of the truth. Really we are all worshipping one Spirit with different names and methods. We are all interconnected.
- Although nominally Roman Catholic, I was previously Unitarian-Universalist. I still embrace much of the liberalism and tolerence of UU. At this point, I'm trying to find a fuse these beleif systems.
- Religion is not the same as the Love for Christ, Religion has mans rule,
- there are no good reasons to believe in a god(s) and many good reasons no to.
- I belive in a personal loving god.
- Jesus said nothing about homosexuality or abortion. I wish Christians would strive to be like Jesus, instead of blindly following political candidates.
- i beleive in god, but not in the hypocracy of religions i have experienced.
- FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE SENT HIS ONLY SON. Thanks Jesus for saving my soul.
- 100% Atheist/Humanist.
- Ithink that people who profess to know the "truth" are only fooling themselves no one alive really knows the truth concerning God , religion etc.
- Mysticism is a disease of the mind.
- to achieve pure happiness, get religion in God and Jesus
- I am an Atheist who thinks that religion works as an anodyne to the masses but in nature can be destructive.
- When it comes to god, I don't know and neither does anyone else.
- I BELIEVE CHRIST WAS BORN AS A HUMAN BEING WITHOUT SIN, DIED FOR THE WHOLE WORLD SO THAT EVERYONE CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE WAS BURIED TO TAKE CARE OF ALL OUR SINS,ROSE AGAIN TO GIVE US A NEW LIFE IN CHRIST AND SO THAT ONE DAY WHEN HE RETURNS WE CAN GO TO HEAVEN TO LIVE WITH HIM FOREVER. AMEN.
- Fight the good fight of love. Sacrifice for the cause. Love.
- To all non-believers: If you believe in God and are right, then you will be saved. If you don't believe in God and are wrong, LOOK OUT!!!! Why take the chance, common sense should tell us that there is some supreme being out there. I also respect all religions. I think those of us who believe in different religions actually believe in the same God, we just see him/her/it in different ways.
- Forcing someone to believe as you goes against the basic nature of religious belief and freedom. Don't understand ? Look for answers on your own - don't let anyone force your opinion.
- We are all born Atheists; atheism is natural. Religion - Christianity - is a crutch or excuse used to do what you want, say you're sorry and then do it all over again! It is a sham. Christianity removes all critical thinking and skepticism from the human mind.
- One religion cannot fit many people, they need to be more individual.
- Obey God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Eccl.
- I would've liked to answer more questions, but the way they were worded precluded my giving a satisfactory answer.
- Whoever is reading this, ask Jesus Christ into your heart so you will NOT live in eternal suffering after life.
- I think it is easy to confuse "religion" and faith. I believe in a God who loves each and every one of us individually, loves us enough that He died for us in order that we would be able to spend eternity with Him. God's kingdom is in our hearts. He offers us peace, comfort, and unimaginable love. It takes a while for us to learn that He isn't Santa Claus--He never intended to give us everything we WANT--only everything we NEED. My faith is the most important thing in my life. It makes me a better person, in that I try to see everyone through God's eyes. And God sees directly to the heart. It's much easier to care about people when I know that God loves them as much as He loves me.
- Faith and religion, while related, can be very different. I have a deep and abiding faith in God, in Jesus as my Savior. Sometimes "religion", with its man-made rules and values, gets in the way. When I look at someone who may be distasteful to me for one reason or another, it changes my outlook to remember that God loves that other person as much as He loves me. We have ALL sinned and come short of the Glory of God. And we praise Him that He loves us, for no reason that we can fathom, enough to d e for us, that we might have eternal salvation. And that is the absolute ultimate.
- I believe in the family unit as described in the Bible: man, woman and children. I believe schools and public places could and sometimes should post the 10 commandments, for our whole structure of law is partially based on them.
- "To Love is to be Happy With" and happiness is spontaneous and natural. Unhappiness is a cultural pretense.
- One unnamed, ungendered 'god'. Celtic and Native American idealogies.
- In terms of respect for those who believe differently it is more of a respect for the person than their beliefs
- wherever i go there iam
- Beliefs should be based on reason, not on faith -- to do otherwise is to be dishonest. All the religions of the world are man-made stories, theories, and ideologies.
- I believe Christ and that he will return so that we can be judged accordingly.
- Religion, in general, promotes blind obedience to the "keepers" of said religion. It seeks to prevent creative and different thinking in favor of strict dogma, no matter how rediculous. Religion is popular superstition.
- Religion is a personal matter and one's religion and beliefs should not be forced on another. Also, church and state should ALWAYS be separate.
- Religion is based on ignorance and fear.
- Gods stand for elements or modes of consciousness. What we believe about gods reflects what we desire (consciously or not) in life. Hence, gods which favor pleasure (Pagan/Discordian/what-have-you) are a sign of a healthier personality & culture than go
- Religion is mentioned 5 times in the Bible. Only once in a positive statement!
- I believe that there is a supreme being, but not that you are eternally damned if you do not totally adhere to the rules of the religion that you follow.
- I won't believe in God or the Bible until someone care *prove* it happened.
- Allah (God) is one and only; There will be reward or punishment to the humanbeing in the hereafter (next eternal life) for their deed in this world, Prophet Mohammed (peace be on him) was the last prophet (Moses, Jesus were also prophets) ; he was a human (not God) but he was an examplary person and Allah (God) has choosen him to guide the mankind of his time and time to come.
- There are as many ways to worship God as there are people to worship Him.
- Tolerance of others is the most important religious value. Next to it is a determination not to harm others if possible. After that is intellectual integrity (continually think it possible you may be wrong).
- "An it harm none do as thou will"
- Atheist, reductionist-materialist. Be the person you would like to become. Egocentrism is pointless: we should look to improve humanity as the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
- we are sea monkeys in a univers
- Gaia is the Earth. From her comes all life and to her returns all life. Energy is shared among all creeatures and combines to make forces for constructive or destructive purposes. Disease is a result of an ailing, overburdened Gaia; we cure or severely inhibit one deadly disease and another takes its place in an effort to continue natural selection.
- i am not quite sure what to believe.
- religion tries to point to, but can never be, the truth
- all that is arose from one and that is where it shall return
- wicca is a great thing. you can meditate and relax yourself. And you can belive in the goddess

- you yourself are your own god and should treat yourself as the most important priority in your life.
- Its all about conciousness. When you know who you are, than you know God.
- Good and interstine survey!
- Religion is personal -private - can be shared - but mainly inside your self.
- Live life, because there's only 80 or so years (at best). My religion is Existentialism.
- It is totally illogical to believe in a supreme being who created us.There IS a problem in our society trying to believe ourselves perfection, and the fact that we seem to NEED a supreme being to feel whole. This is pathetic.I got more, but i'd rather have a larger platform to speak.
- I believe it is an important decision which someitmes can take a life time to make.
- Religion should never be an excuse for war, violence or sectarianism in any form.
- Religion was derived from, and continues to be fed by ignorance. "Miraculous" events ARE scientifically expicable, though perhaps beyond our present understanding. I am friends with and admire many devoutly religious people, however I have found them resolutely unwilling to explore evidence which would suggest the falsehood of their beliefs. :)
- I think most religions have the same underlying concepts. I believe we are all on a path toward self-discovery and spiritual enlightenment (if we make the effort)
- Religion is between me and a higher power. Who or what that higher power is, I do not know, but there is some powerful force that created and sustains life. There is also too much unknown to rule out such a higher force.
- The Universe is tremendously old, and hugely complex. To credit the entirety of all that is to One being is naive at best. Societymust continue to search for clues to answers we seek. As of today, all of the facts aren't in yet.
- Religion is a great evil that must be eradicated for the sake of human happiness
- I have never seen anything to convince me that a supreme or lesser being(s) exist.. what we see here on Earth is what we get.
- I'm a Secular Humanist and I live by what I call "situation ethics."
- Faith, in essence, is belief without reason. I believe in being reasonable.
- There is only one God and Muhammad is the Messenger of God!!
- I do not personally believe in a higher power but I respect the good that religion does for many people.
- Religion is what YOU as a person believe, not as a group.
- La Ilaha Illa'Llah, Mohammadan Rasulu'Llah.
- I believe that you MUST save Earth until the Andalites come.
- The divisions of faith are destroying the world, but religion is the only thing that gives us something eternal to strive for
- U believe in urself u are urself and thats it
- You misspelled "Atheism"
- I hate different cultures especially hindus! They came to America to make money. I hope they leave. This is an American country. There should be only americans.
- God always calls everybody to feel that He is their father and people only has to recognise that inside eachone there is an immage of our God and listen to Him and recive His love. Maria, mother of Jesus is still calling us, because we are loosing more then ever.
- Organized religion IS an opiate of the masses and at that point becomes destructive rather than constructive. However, religion is (to smost) necessary primarily for moral support.
- I don't believe in any supernatural beings because there is no evidence for their existence. I believe in making this world a better place for all humanity.
- There can only be one "truth". Jesus Christ is the only way to the real God. Everything else is merely "religion".
- Let Jesus in your heart tomake you a whole new person.
- It offers hope, albeit false, that beleivers will be rewarded with eternal life after death. Appealing concept especially if you fear what the rational, logical truth is "that this is all there is."
- Religion is personal, it should not be enforced, but rather except it if you choose too.
- I was raised an Episcopalian, but have recently found the bible to be too inconsistant to believe. I believe in God, but little else.
- There is no fate but what we make for ourselves. (And you spelled atheism wrong.)
- One must do what he must do.
- I believe that as a Christian, I should be "Christ-like". To me this means that I should treat those that don't believe the way I do, with dignity. Jesus sat and ate with the sinners. He never told them "You're going to hell if you don't believe the way I do." He did however call the Pharisees a den of vipers. The only way to win the world to Jesus Christ is by our love for one another. Because, "God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him, shoul not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him, might be saved"(John 3:16)
- I favor ethical living
- I believe in ethics without the intervention of God, dogma, or cult. I believe in ethical behavior without the carrot of salvation or the scourge of damnation.
- The only time I wish there was a heaven and hell, is for the day Pat Robinson dies, because he wouldn't make to the heaven he preaches about!
- I know it is important to believe in Jesus as the savior. The lord wants us to be tolerant, but not in violation of God's teachings, but not to be oppressive in the enforcing of the laws.
- Religion is merely the commonly-held local superstition.
- When the Almighty and the Blessed Virgin have moved in your life, it is impossible to gainsay it and retain any integrity.
- Jesus Christ came to save and free ALL of us... If we don't accept him, we will suffer eternally in Hell. We are called to love others unconditionally though, and only to hold fellow believers accountable
- I am a Unitarian Universalist who expresses his faith using the symbols and myths of Christianity.
- existentialist secular humanist :)
- All people have a fallen nature and cannot do good without God's help. Access to God is found only through a perfect sacrifice which is by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
- Religion is mankind's way of trying to find simple answers to complex questions. It defies reason and logic.
- My wisdom lies in knowing that I know nothing.
- Shit happens.
- It's like fairy tales, they're fun to beleive in as a child, but sometimes you just have to realize to yourself what's true and what isn't
- we should all try to find happiness and a sense of worth in our lives. This is best accomplished by being a benefit to others
- There are no gods.
- I do not care wether or not there is a deity. If there is, it is no better an entity than I am. I think religion is a poison to freedom of any kind.
- Religion is based on assertions which stem from man projecting his own characteristics on to an abstract fabrication of his own making. The possiblity of such a being existing is highly improbable. Therefore wasting our time devoting resources to the worship of such a thing is wasteful and therefore destructive.
- The Blood of Jesus Christ if the Finished work. We are able to enter heaven by the Grace of God through Faith by excepting Jesus Christ as our redemer.
- There is a God. Just listen and believe, and you will understand my philosophy.
- Jesus is coming and I'm glad I've got faith and Him to help me everday.
- religion is some thing that each of us has to find for our self and that no matter what else you must be honest to your self.
- without religion, we would live in a utopia
- I feel that whether God exists or not is irrelevant to the fact that humanity is on its own. If we trash our world beyond repair, we will vanish from existance, and no celestial being will bail us out.
- Religion is a part of America that should be seperate from all else
- I feel strong and that all will work out for me with my faith. God has his plan and he does provide for me when I really need it.
- Believe what you want to believe, just don't drag me into it!
- All "religions" have falts to get hung up on. We are only human! Though I believe that the only way to have a clear conscience inside is to try to be a reflection of Christ (the ONLY pure, sinless, and completely understanding freind and God) we are not perfect by far but the cleaning of the heart comes in the striveing.
- I'm Christian but I'm a liberal, which makes me un-pure and not a real Christian, or so they say.
- If the time and energy used to support religion were instead focused on, say, a cure for cancer, we would have cured cancer by now, and lost nothing in the process.
- Personal philosophy matches Ayn Rand's Objectivism.
- Religion is primitive superstition. Difficulties within and between religions and religious sects continue to cause many of the problems which continue to plague mankind. Religion is big business. Man in general, and children in particular, need to find out how things really work.
- just do it
- A personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ, by His grace alone in His strength I am able to serve others.
- Religion is obsolete.
- This is the only world we'll know and we should make the best of it for all.
- God is real...He loves you no matter what you did...
- My philosophy is probably best described as weak atheism. While it may not be possible to prove that there is no god, I think it's highly unlikely that god, or any supernatural being, exists. Also, I believe that learning and reason will help us to achieve a higher standard of morality and more meaningful lives than religion ever will.
- God may exist, but I have never seen any credible proof.
- Religion and Christianity are not the same. I am a Christian and have a personal relationship with God through Jesus. Religion is not a relationship but a practice to appease or rather a way to approach an unapproachable god.
- I believe in a "natural order of events in the universe"! Everything that is affects everything that is to a small degree.
- Love is the law. Follow it.
- Fiat
- I believe religion to be superstition and impedes social as well as scientific progress.
- People should help each other, because no "belief system" or "god" is going to do that for us. Religion breeds fear and hatred. Children are born "atheist" and the most heinous crime in my opinion is to introduce them to religion. Science Rules!
- In the beginning God.......
- Religion began as man's explanation of things he did not understand. As knowledge has increased, man has struggled to maintain his concept of higher, supernatural powers. It all boils down to primitive fairy tales.
- If you are doing nothing, seek into your heart and if you find nothing then you havent wasted your time
- Religion is the only hope we have. Look around... we need change, and Jesus is the change we need.
- I believe Religion is false but a positive side of society as it can promote people to do good things. This is outweighed by the huge numbers of people killed over gods each year.
- Some of your choices did not completely describe my beliefs. (Just so you know).
- I have seen no evidence that would lead me to conclude that a deity exists.
- I am a strong atheist who is against any form of organized religon.
- My philosophy is to take responsibility for my own actions, as I believe everyone else should to instead of blaming it on a diety or asking 'forgiveness' from a diety for their actions.
- My philosophy is that a daily relationship witht he Lord Jesus Christ is more important than anything else in life.
- Religion (mainly Christianity) has been used to justify slavery and holocausts of all kinds in all generations and to believe in that brand of faith is guilt by association.
- Religion has no place in an educated society.
- Religion as a word carries too much stigmatism for too many people. The truth is less about principles and individual dogma as it is about a personal relationship with God and an understanding of how humanity relates to Him, as is related in the Bible (old and new testament alike).
- Jesus is the way to salvation. Without believing in Him you are doomed to eternal damnation in hell. God loves you so much, He does not want anyone to go to hell. He came and died on the cross to save you from that fate.
- Fear drives religion.
- I am on a journey, called life, we didnt ask to be here, so lets love and live to the best of our ability, always following the Golden rule.
- Add to 14: Religion is a crutch. It is used to answer questions that would otherwise be left at "I don't know."
- A life motivated by sympathy and compassion, guided by reason and science.
- Marx said it best: The Opiate of the Masses
- I am a secular humanist and do not believe in things supernatural. Mankind can solve its own problems, and should get about doing it. Religion concentrates power to the few, and splinters and divides humanity, keeping it stupid, impotent and ignorant.
- I have none. I believe in the law of equivalance. There is no majic or supernatural.
- There is no god. This planet would be better off if more time was spent on this life rather than trying to plan for a hypothetical next life.
- Religion is a highly contagious mental disease.
- There is no "god".
- Mass indoctrination of our youth is our society's greatest evil. To do good should be the worlds's only relgion. We must be tolerant of others' religions or lack thereof.
- I am a rationalist. I believe religion is superstition.
- Religion is something that can be both constructive as well as destructive. Ex. The Jesuits and liberation theology vs. the Jesuits and the inquisition.
- Objectivism - Ayn Rand
- The Creator set into motion the physical laws of the of the universe and has allowed the universe to run its course without divine corrections. The mind of the Creator is revealed to us, and any other intellegent life, only by understanding the workings of the creation. Nothing in the universe is ever distroyed; it only changes with time (energy to matter and vice versa). Perhaps, but not necessarily, our concept of an afterlife follows this pattern.
- We only live a short time, make the best of it. Immortality comes from being remembered.
- The evidence I see around me suggests that the existence of an infinitely powerful, infinitely benevolent being, especially the one described in the Christian Bible, is sufficiently improbable that it can be safely rejected -- and given some of the horrifying stuff I've read in that Bible, I'm eternally thankful for this.
- People should believe whatever they like, as long as those beliefs do not cause them to harm others in any way or impose said beliefs on others.
- I believe that there is some transcendental and immanent consciousness of which we are made up. I have no evidence that it has morality or influence apart from us, i.e. our thoughts may be the energy which transforms matter. I am against dogma or doctrine
- I believe that we were created for a purpose. God created us and placed us in a world to test us and see if we would turn to him. He placed us on this world to teach us and to allow us to understand His love for us. The only way to God is through Jesus.
- matter is neither created nor destroyed;humans are "life conscious of itself" thus storytellers and creators. you spelled polygamy wrong
- I do not believe in a higher power. No evidence exists to make me believe in Santa Claus, ditto god.
- ************************************************************************
- Religion can be used to help humans, but it rarely is.
- I am an atheist with regard to Yahweh or any of the other gods of the established religion. I do not know, and doubt that we can know, about the existence of some kind of supreme being which created the universe. I kind of doubt it, but it's possible.
- "We are condemned to be free"
- Religion was originally based on man's need to understand himself and his surroundings. Science has answered these questions, and religion, based on conjecture to begin with, ought now to be discarded.
- It seems that most folks pine for some afterlife, while letting this life go to pot. I'd like to make the present world into the best one possible. Otherwise, it's all wasted energy (in my opinion). As for a personal philosophy, I'm still working on that. I think the golden rule (in all its various incarnations) is a pretty good start. Respect and tolerance for all.
- Believe first in yourself, then a "higher" belief.
- It is hard for me to belief that what is named "God" is all knowing, all powerfull and all loving. I tend to believe there is a more complex form of life which is what society terms as "God" without ever exploring other philosophical aspects.
- Behave in loving way toward all other living beings.
- Live your life the best you can, do not wrong anyone
- That through Christ is eternal salvation only.
- Let religion's pay their own way!
- Beleif in deities is irrational - PATHETICALLY irrational. But too many people, feel so inept at life and existance, pray and grovel in order to maintain their psychological crutch. The truly sad part is that they need everyone else also mired in their delusion.
- My philosophy is we are born with a "clean" slate and through our parents and others we learn hate and intolorance through our culture and religious bigotry.
- Acceptance of, and faith in, God's grace through Jesus Christ as Saviour to all who believe in Him and as Lord to all who seek to daily follow Him. A Christian will exalt Christ's love to others as they seek to spread His gospel through sharing the Bible, doing good works, and otherwise living a lifestyle consistent to Christ's teachings. Chistianity is best expressed through following Scripture (1-Scripture), learning from the path that other believers have trod in ages past (2-Tradition), implement ng the standards of Christ with an necessary amount of reason (3-Reason), and never hesitating to witness the Christian experience of one's own life (4-Experience).
- I don't have a "religious" philosophy. Religion is an odd holdover from ancient people's that understood little else well either. Since it is comforting to many and can't be disproven by anyone... religion is here to stay.
- Religion is only an organized form of denial, while it may help some people cope with life, it dulls people's sense of reality.
- I consider myself a Humanist which believe in moral valuses based on reason and respect for the earth, self, life and other people
- There is nothing supernatural.
- My basic philosophy is scientific skepticism. If it cannot be proved, if it does not make rational sense, it is furitless to believe in it..
- eupraxsophy, rationalism, critiacl thinking, without the construct of religion or god forces
- I am not religious. I am an active secular humanist.
- Secular Humanist. Non-religious, though I belong to a UU fellowship, but for mostly social reasons.
- Religion keeps confidence high among weak-willed individuals. It is indeed the opiate for the masses.
- It was hard for me to respond to some of the questions because I don't believe that my philosophy/world view of life is a religion. However, I do get together with other NON-believers on a very frequent basis but that does NOT include any type of ritual, ceremony, etc.
- If all of them are right, who must I listen first to?
- That religon and science are the same: they are both explartions of the truth.
- I am an idealist who works for greater peace and harmony in this world. I do not consider myself religious, but I support tolerance for diverse belief systems.
- I think everyone may believe in the same type of all powerful being however we each sort of describe it differently. Which makes many different religions in the world.
- I view religion different from spirituality. Religion is a collection of beliefs learned & seldom questioned. Spirituality is life itself & the way of life/ultimate truth.
- Religion is a way for some people to find themselves, while others can do it on their own.
- God is love and loves diversity and harmony. The best way to know God and Love God is to Love others and the world God created and put Love into practice daily.
- Wow! A major age-old philosophical issue in 14 questions.
- I'm a non-conformist and I have tremendous respect for everyone
- Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone, and all we need to know this is Scripture alone! sola Scriptura!!
- God is all you need. Live for him and love him as he loves you.
- Religion for purpose of this survey is defined as a personal relationship with God
- A personal reconciliation between oneself and the Divine, whether that be in the form of JHVH, Allah, nature, or oneself.
- Scientology is an applied religious philosophy. It holds in common many of the beliefs of other religions and philosophies, and considers man to be a spiritual being, with more to him than flesh and blood. Scientology believes man to be basically good, not evil.
- The last question got me... spirituality is personal, but religion is also the last five on the list, it depends on WHICH religion one talks about. As any 'set of beliefs' are different, so is Religion. I believe in spirituality, NOT Religion, for it has
- Religion is different for everybody and cannot be forced onto other people
- I have come to believe that for me, the existence or non-existence of god, has no bearing on my life. I live by my own values, which seem to be more stringent than those of most christians.
- all the stuff written is by man.your god is within you
- A Child is only what their parents make of them(minus career) good or evil, righteouse, or wicked. Your life ends in absolution neglecting this responsiblity first.
- It's not a matter of only going to church as usual, you must go throuth a journey in order to make sure you have a RELATIONSHIP with GOD---that's what it's all about---GOD must know you, and you must have faith in HIM!!!!!!
- I'd say religion exist because humans need to believe in something greater that themselves and you should not strongly BELIEVE something is this way or another. That means nothing. You should rather try to find out if it really is so, and sofar i've understood that religion is just a pretty illusion.
- most organized religions are stupid
- "God" exists and loves us all, but we are too simple to understand the complexity of any after life and should not try to. We should just have faith that if we live happily and try to not hurt others, we will be fine.
- love God with all your heart ,soul, mind and strength and neighbor as yourself
- There are so many wonders out there, that you would be foolish to pick one and stick to it.
- Religious intolerance cannot be accepted in society
- ALL of the major religions SEEN in the world today are directly responsable for most of the atrocities
- RELIGION IN AMERICA HAS BEEN REDUCED TO A POLITICAL ACTION GROUP.I NO LONGER CAN SUBSCRIBE TO THE ACTIONS OF THE SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION OF WHICH I STILL BELONG. I HAVE QUIT ATTENDING CHURCH (IN WHICH I WAS A DEACON) AND NO LONGER TITHE MY INCOME. I STILL AND ALWAYS WILL BE A BELIVER IN CHIST BUT CAN NO LONGER SUPPORT THE POLICITAL AND SOCIAL AGENDA OF THE SBC. I FIRMLY BELIEVE JESUS IS COMING AGAIN AND I JUST AS FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF FOLKS WHO SUPPORT THE SOCIAL AND POLICITAL ACTI ETIES OF THE CHRISTIN CHURCH WHO ARE IN FOR A VERY RUDE AWAKNING.
- Religion is a hard word for me to swallow. Faith is a more accurate description. so, in this case, sub each instance with "faith." Or belief.
- I love Jesus!!! If you dont know your lord Jesus Christ..find someone who does and pray with them to have Jesus in your heart :)
- u will know the truth at a later date
- Man controls his own destiny
- I believe life on earth is a chess game between what is good and evil, and we are but the pawns in the game.
- religion is a personal process which has the purpose of allowing humans to find there place in the universe, I respect all religious views though I think that some are obviously better than others.
- I consider myself mostly Taoist, based on my own interpretations of the Tao te Ching, and the Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet. I'm also influenced by Hinduism and Gnostic Christianity. I was raised a fundamentalist Christian, and became very angry at all religion for a number of years because of that. I believe forcing of the parents religion upon the children is extremely wrong, but am otherwise tolerant of most practices, so long as they extend the same to me.
- I believe in a transcendental realm, wholly apart from the physical, and unknowable by virtue of our physical limitations. The cosmos is too complex, and yet too subtle in its detail, not to be the prooduct of design.
- My beliefs are based on evidence. I have no faith, which is belief without evidence.
- Religion is a code that's lived by and affetcs all aspects of life, not something determined by another. It should be a code of behavior that helps one to become a better and more fulfilled person.
- There is no doubt that Jesus is God, that He loves me and I live by His Grace.
- PETER WHO NEEDS A COMB
- respect all life forms and let them live
- Christ died so that we would be saved and have eternal life

- Human beings create the sacred
- Religion is dogmatic and aims for control, while spirituality is the only path for an individual to attain "religious" (sic) knowledge.
- Humanism--I seek communion not with any god but with fellow human beings.
- Religion, like all things, is what we, as individuals make of it.
- I follow primarily the teachings of Christ, with less attention to the Old Testament (based upon certain books of dubious origin) than most of my fellow Christians. Jesus' teachings of love and peace make a profound difference in my view on life.
- Ihave a very good working relationship with my G_d. I don't ask him for a whole lot and he doesn't expect a lot of me.
- Religion is a loose term. I believe Jesus is the only one that saves...
- Love and respect your niebor as an example of Christ in you. Tolerasnce for those that are different, Leave judgement to god and trust in Christ.
- Few things have causes such turmoil and hatred as a popular religion
- Religion was once a good things designed to give the poor and destitute something to believe in. Now however the churchs of the world have become more or less a business which has lost sight of its original goals. Thus I have found it better to believe in myself and what I have experienced for myself. I believe in a more supreme power, but also believe that the other supreme powers of the other religions exist as well. Religion is something that a person must define for himself rather than let it b thrust upon him by society.
- Could one imagine what it would be with God, I can't! With Him there is hope and a purpose in life.
- There are truths that people come to in many different ways... most of which are "right." It is possible to live the spiritual life wihtout knowing the answer to "fundamental questions" such as the existence of God and an afterlife.
- A family that worships together will stay together
- Religion is a personal opinion and should not be forced upon anyone. I believe in a supreme being but do not need to attend church and pay to hear the views and beliefs.
- Man has a soul, I know this through personal experience. What he does with it is up to him, and no one else. He can become a God or an Animal. Your Choice.
- God set up laws (physics) millions of years ago and set them in motion beginning with the big bang. We have slowly, yet methodically evolved into what we are today.

- A force beyond our understanding created and maintains the universe, though I do not see it as a being or personal god.
- To promote harmony and justice among mankind and to care for the universe by doing good and avoiding evil deeds guided by the teachings of the Qur'an which represents the ultimate wisdom of ALLAH, THE LORD ALMIGHTY

- Live and let live, we'll find out soon enough
- One must find and accept a perfect living Master. You are born here under the law of Karma and will be reborn until you clear all your accounts. You are responsible for your own development, birth, suffering and death.
- God is with me and in everything I touch. I forget him often and stray from the path, but I know he still loves me, as I do him.
- We shouldn't look, which religion is right for us, but which is right for God! What does he require of us?
- Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God and me, and through him and his vicarious work for me, I have access to almighty God. My personal relationship with God through Christ is an ever growing and on-going relationship, and I seek to grow in wisdom and in obedience to God's will as I live. That relationship requires that I serve my fellow man as God makes opportunities available to me.
- There is no philosophy
- I believe that more "evil"has been committed in the name of "god" than any other. IL'm sure the world would be better off with no religion.
- I don't believe in the soul, but I believe that, in some remote time and place, virtuous people will have some of their faculties incorporated into super-beings of some kind. I also believe that the history of this planet will be altered so evil-doers can be punished.
- Don't bother me about it, I won't bother you.
- Whatever gets you through the night is OK, as long as you don't force it down my throat.
- Love and only Love.
- I believe very firmly in the reality of God, but I think we miss the the mark on what that means to us as a society. Values do not equate belief in God, but are maintained by a societal interpretation of who that God is. I do not believe God is so interested in what we do, but rather, who we are. The teachings of the new testament and progressive revelation show this clearly, it is just that we, as a society, want to manipulate religion to guide societal behavior.
- All life everywhere is connected. Our Earth is alive and is Sacred Space. Blessed Be!
- one should not have to join a group, or belive a set of someone elses rules or dogma to find god
- The very perception of the universe and indeed the self is based on viewpoint and context. These are the source and underlying foundation of belief.
- I hate people who push religion on other people. I will believe in what I want to. Religion is a way for a person to deal with themselves not a social group to be joined for the sake of fitting into a "better way of life."
- I am a Solitary Pagan Agnostic of Celtic Descent.
- The world is a cycle, the water the trees the electricity etc,we must learn to co exist no inhibit and control in order to be calm.Just be

- I trust God in the name of Jesus Christ and nobody in this world will go to heaven if not trough Him
- Humans can't evolve to the next level until we abolish all religions
- In God's great love for us, His creations, he provided the means for our salvation, His Son Jesus. Only those who accept this gift will be saved. The mysteries of our life on earth will one day be revealed and will be the the greater glory of God. However, organized religion being in man's hands, is faulty and has done great harm throught=
- do anything you want to, as long as you do no harm
- Religion is an attempt to organize the SPIRITUAL beliefs of many. In organizing there is control.
- I have a patron diety, I believe the others are prime forces. I believe all religions have good and evil, and the need to make choices.
- Religion is not for me, Life is for me, and I live the way Jesus tells me to live instead of imposing myself on others.
- Constitutional "freedom of religion" means also the freedom to not have a religion.
- The divine is in everything. Respect and love for each other is respect and love for the divine.
- If it fills an emotional need and doesn't hurt or harass anyone else, then it is alright with me.
- rational humanism
- Thou are God!
- Keep religion and religious people as far away from me as possible! Religion is the most destructive force in our world.
- I need God, I need religion, I value my sense of spirtuality, it give me a sense of peace, hope and a feeling that there is a force greater than us that can somehow make sense out of the madness of the world. I believe in miracles, I have seen them happen. I can't explain God, I just know that he is...and has always been there for me...he's been better to me than I could have ever deserved . I don't go to church every Sunday, but I listen to ministers and speakers in the media., this is not to say that I blindly follow these people. I accept their text and message and draw my own analysis. I don't go to church for several reasons, I am usually busy working around the house or ranch trying to keep up with chores that don't get done during the work week and also, I don't like so-called Christains who are negative, narrow-minded, pious and gossips. I perfer to surround myself with persons who are positive thinking and rejoice in the life that God has given them
- all were created in God's image and should be treated alike.
- If it works use it.
- The sun shines brightly and the tree gives me shade.
- Religon should be able to give one comfort in their times of trouble and need. it should not make you feel guilty by making you believe tht you are worthless if you do not follow the rules 100% all the time. It should also teach one that all religons have points of validty and commonality which makes each of us dependent on the other.
- Religion is a form of death denial. It is used to satiate our inability to truly comprehend infinity.
- Religion was created as a means of controling the masses. It has flowered into an excuse for hating each other.
- God has a plan. We're along for the ride. Things will work out.
- Do What You Want, Do What You Will. Just Don't Mess Up Your Neighbors Thrill!!!
- I have encountered evidence that something is going on,that I have been helped, blesed, that there is a God that has a personality , a sense of humor, answers prayers, entervenes when that wont cause greater harm, has agents(Angels), Is not mean and petty
- Love and serve like Jesus did!
- I have encountered evidence that something is going on,that I have been helped, blesed, that there is a God that has a personality , a sense of humor, answers prayers, entervenes when that wont cause greater harm, has agents(Angels), Is not mean and petty
- I find hard to believe that religion has a place in modern society, but people should make their own choices.
- Being religious and being an atheist is not a dichotomy, nor are the two ideas exclusionary. Religion is fellowship, and atheists need fellowship as do all humans.
- My philosophy is that there is One True Church, the Roman Catholic Church, and that there is no other way of salvation. There may be exceptions, but those are for God to know, not man. Everything else is just philosophies or sectarian nonsense.
- All religions are based upon the dreams of our ignorant savage ancestors.
- I feel the VERY religious do a lot of harm to society. I know there are truly good religious people, but many are not.
- Christianity is a lifestyle, not just a religion, though we sometimes fail in our day to day lives, God forgives us and is constantly working to make us more and more like Jesus Christ in our thinking, attitudes, and beliefs. It is not something to be crammed down the throats of people, it is to be offered if you are not chosen you will not accept Jesus. It can't be bought or earned by good deeds, it can't be lost by our actions, it is
- Humankind has developed religion(s) over the years as a "security blanket," to give life a "deeper meaning."
- religion is based on factless myth. I prefer scientific approaches to theories, and religion is strictly a means of control and oppression of the mind
- My entire parents' families were non-believers, and I have seen nothing in my long (69 years) life to change that opinion..
- I did not know whether to pick hedonism, or christianity, or taoism. I appreciate a little of all. I am annoyed by the tenets of mainstream Christianity, and esp. fundamentalism, but I appreciate many of the thoughts and wisdom of Jesus.
- atheistic, agnostic, irreligious
- (1) I see no compelling evidence that supports theism, and (2) I see a few somewhat compelling evidences that support atheism. As far as my attitude toward religion, goes, I consider it extremely difficlut, if not impossible, to determine what the world would have been like without religion, so I cannot say if it has been destructive or constructive.
- Beleif in god/gods is a mental crutch. I won't take your crutch as long as you don't force me to us it also.
- Religion is used by many as a paliative...Truth is what I believe only makes a difference to myself & cramming it other's throat won't do em much good. God is greater than ALL religions put together.
- Religion is a delusion, an excercise in wishful thinking. The truth of a meaningless cosmos grinding on with no regard for humankind is too painful for most to accept, so they continue to ignore the plain truth: there is no god.
- I am a Strong Atheist and have been for 20 years. I have no plans on ever changing.
- My basic philosophy is humanism -- humans have to work together to rationally plan for an improved present and future. While religion has done some good, differences and belief are often very divisive. (Note: You spelled "atheism" wrong.)
- Irrational beliefs are harmful to society, and that means that irrational religious beliefs are harmful. So far, I haven't found any religious beliefs which *aren't* fundamentally irrational.
- Religion is an excuse for not confronting reality
- I beleive in applying Christ's teachings but not in alot of "doctrine".
- Seek scientific truth; seek happiness for many and self; balance these goals.
- religion is like a glass of milk to me; like I have to drink milk but don't want to like that I have to believe in god eventhough I don't want to
- God is with us
- agnostic
- Though not too active in my church, I do believe in a living Prophet is guiding it. I believe that the true church has been restored to the earth today.
- i am the way the truth and the light, anyone who comes to me shall be saved
- I used to be attracted to little girls, just like Lewis Carroll. When I started thinking in evolutionary terms, that's when my hang-ups started to heal.
- There has to be only one right way to God. Therefore, after careful study, I discovered that in true biblical sense, God cannot be appeased by our efforts to earn our salvation where we can boast on our efforts. True satisfaction came from what He did for us, apart from our intervention. Therefore we can only accept or reject what He did for our salvation. Jesus' redemptive work was the complete requirement God desired for all mankind, therefore we cannot add anything to it. Salvation then can come onl by us personally accepting the redemptive work of Jesus for ourselves.
- Islam is Peace
- There is a difference in being "religious" and being "spiritual" I have a relationship with God but believe all churches today are apostate frauds

- Whatever creation force brought us inteleget life is universal. We all have the same human needs
- I believe in Jesus Christ as the Savior of the World
- Pray to the Lord and he will listen
- My religion studies the book urantia, meaning earth, it is an experience to just read it, if you beleive it or not, the size of three bibles, and much more complex, it covers everything from earth, the universe, afterlife, and god.
- We are all God. Our bodies are just a means for us to create who and what our souls really are. There is no heaven or hell, only eternal peace elsewhere.
- I am only 15 years old, and right now, I do not care to worry about religion. So of my results do not make much sense, you now know why.
- The Catholic Church is the one True Church of God.
- We need to accept and be all that God calls us to be to the best of our ability putting no limitations on God and all he can do.
- Stay up late, have no children, burn, burn, BURN!!!
- Religion is very important, whether your are Catholic, Christian, or Islomic. We all need a higher bing, a creator to believe in and to believe in us.
- Jesus is the only way to God, to salvation, to eternal life, to peace here on earth--John 1: 1-18; 3:16; 10:7-10; 14:6-7!!!!!
- THe devel sucks but i must obey him
- One must believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, fully God, yet fully man. Jesus came to save us from sin and the punishment of eternal damnation we so rightly deserve. There is a resurrection for all those who believe, that they may live in love with God forever.
- Listen to your Heart. It is the only thing that can guide you.
- Religious belief is based on your own convictions, and cannot be forced,
- I believe that humans are the result of some basic chemistry and chance.
- Fuck all who believe in jesus christ!!!!!!!!
- I choose not to choose whether a supreme being exists or not; it's a waste of energy to me. It cannot be proved either way. Anything is possible in the afterlife (including absolutely nothing). However, to some extent, organized religion is "good" for society, simply because some (or most) people need/want to be told what is right and wrong, as well as needing answers to unanswerable questions. I just find it hard to understand how they can blindly accept answers and guidelines that are so extremel hypocritical, unrealistic, and irrational.
- Every human is an animal, so we all have animalistic passions: sex, revenge, envy, etc. Judeo-Christian religions try to deny us these rights. Satanism cheers them and encourages them. Satan is just the name given to these "evil" natural passions by Judeo-Christian religions. That's what I believe. I do not eat babies or kill cats, but I am a Satanist. Thanks for your time.
- I believe that God provided humanity's only eternal hope in Jesus Christ.
- Religion is confusing because so many belifs that oppose my religion I agree with but at the same time I agree with my religion.
- A MUSLIM IS ALWAYS IN PEACE WITH HIMSELF AND THE WORLD AROUD HIM. ACTUALLY HE ALSO SPREADS PEACE AND ATTRACTS OTHERS TO IT.
- One good god, I don't buy it, multiple gods maybe. It's a crutch for the weak of mind.
- When you die, I believe you go to "heaven", and there is no "hell".
- It's a waste of time speculating about something we'll never have evidence of.
- It is for Freedom that Christ set us Free. Gal 5:1

- Love and relationship--with others and with all of creation--are of supreme importance to inner peace and universal harmony.
- I beleive in Islam which mean peace and total submision to the only God "ALLAH" orders. The words of ALLAH "The Quran" is the last Testament the only testament survived to the day of Resurrection is the law of our life.
- I think people need to derive their own belief system and worship how they see fit.
- Religion (spirituality) allows a person to have respect for others, for the environment and for the future of our universe.
- I believe in oone omnipotent God, all the prophets, all revealed scriptures, angels, predestination, and a day of judgement.
- I am a non-denominational Christian who was reared Pentacostal. Although I am tolerant of others' beliefs I find most people I meet shut me out the minute they hear I am even a Christian. I don't knock on doors for Jesus, but I'd like to be able to be tolerated as much as anyone else.
- Religion is, for the most part, a crock of shit. You croak, and that's it, you're bug food. No heavenly choir, no afterlife, no wings. Religious attitudes have caused much unnecessary pain and sufferring in society.
- There is no god but Allah(The God) and Muhammad(pbuh&hf) is His Last Massenger
- Belief in anything beyond the physical, spatial or temporal is, by definition, illogical. Religion is acceptable and effective as a means of control, but unnacceptable as a world view for those who can reason before acting.
- An' it harm none, do what thou wilt.
- Treat others as you wish to be treated.
- Religion is necessary for the Human Spirit, Soul, and Body
- I believe that ritual and spirituality can enrich our lives. Organized religion, however, can take from our individuality/lives if viewed as "the only" or "the right" way.
- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. There have been many prophets who have shared Truth. They are not mutally exclusive. Faith needs to shed the strict ritualism of many religions.
- Values, not matter or mind, are the basis of existence. I value therefore I am.
- THERE IS NO GOD OR SUPERNATURAL BEINGS. ANYONE WHO BELIEVES IN SUCH NONSENSE NEEDS TO HAVE HIS HEAD EXAMINED. THERE IS NO PROOF, OR JUST CAUSE, TO JUSTIFY A BELIEF IN AN IMAGINARY WORLD OF SPIRITS AND DEMONS. RELIGION IS WISHFUL THINKING AND FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN. IF YOU READ THE BIBLE THOROUGHLY, YOU WOULD BE AN IDIOT TO CONTINUE BELIEF IN THE CONTRADICTORY, OUTDATED, ERRORED RELIGION OF CHRISTIANITY.
- Inner spirituality is more important than adhering to religious guidelines. God is personal.
- FOLLOW ALL 613 LAWS IN BIBLE
- God/dess is not a personified being but rather a force within nature that we all obtain in our own way.
- Alot of the things I belive may seem contradictory, but I know they all fit together somehow. My view is, God gave me a mind to choose right from wrong. If something seems right, it comes from God (like love). If something seems wrong, it has nothing to do with God (like discrimination.)
- traditional roman catholic
- I believe that you must believe in Christ Jesus and ask Him to save your soul, or you will be eternally lost and condemned to hell.
- there is quite a difference between "religion" and "spitituality". for instance, i would consider that i have STRONG spiritual conviction, but belive that "religion" is a destructive force through its righteousness and ritual.
- Religion is a personal issue to me. I feel that it is in my heart and what I believe is between me and GOD.
- i believe all of us should have the freedom to practice our own religion and not be judged for it
- AS A MUSLIM, I MAINTAIN DESCIPLINED CONDUCT, AND HOPE TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT ON LIFE AROUND ME.
- There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger
- I believe in God but I am nondenominational.
- The life that you live today, is nothing compared to the the life you live after "death" and how you live your life today, determines you after-life.
- To one day hear the Lord Almighty say to me, "Well done my good and faithful servant. Enter into the kingdom of Heaven."
- Christ will give you peace
- I have studies most the religions enouph to think that they should all be combined as one. All of us belive in a God of some type- we all agree there is a pieceful eternal paradice like after life- whats the difference? Question 14 has the option of "If you are not religious you will be lost" I belive in that principal, but in a spiritual sense. I think religion is something a person can use to guide himself to really know who and what he all about. Who created him- that will tell him he is a spirit that is a personal bond between you and God. I also beleive Religion is the Opium of the masses- becaue so many figure heads use it to keep people under control. It doesen't have to be that way- at least not for me, there are some out there that really need it. God wants your heart- he wants to know your soal- and really when you come down to it- he already knows - he wants you to learn it for yourself, like child in discovery of somethig new exciting in his path- we go through life learnig lessons mea t to some how bring us closer to him. I think he gave us so much to choose from down here on Earth that he wants us to make mistakes and learn what best for us- what feels right? Sorry this is so long-
- whatever makes people happy, they should do it, because time is a mere scratch and life is nothing. be nice to cats.
- We are here to prove Allah's Perfection, Most Fails to do so
- I beleive religion is simply a set of morals that beleivers think everyone should follow and everyone should beleive in the same thing. I choose not to have a religion because it basically robs you of individuality and the right to have your own personal set of morals/rules to follow. I've had the same beleifs ever since I was young because my parents gave me the freedom to choose mine, other parents should allow their kids the same priviledge. Plus I'm extremely angry when followers of a religion j dge you or degrade you based on your beleifs. As far as heaven or hell goes, I've seen no proof that either exists and I do beleive that everyone goes to the same place no matter what.
- If it works, let it; be good to yourself and others and respect those who think differently.
- Organized religion has always been the easiest way for man to dominate and control his fellow man
- Jesus is not a Religion, but is one to live by - my Salvation is in Him.

- There's no proof, therefor we don't go on
- The devil is not a mythological creature, the devil is man, and evil is simply human nature.
- I don't believe the Lord entended for people to go to church to see how everyone is dresses.. Thus I believe religion and beliefs are personal issues.. But, I believe we need a superior being to help strengthen our own days and years of turmoil.
- Anyone that does not have the Holy Spirit in him/her, then his/her life is meaningless.
- God is always there and is always there for you unconditionally
- You are not alone - Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
- I believe in balance of energies. Negative/positive/neutral. Positive being life-enhancing, negative being destructive, and neautral being nothing. I believe there are many levels of existance, and if there is a god, we are all a part of it's energy, and praying to ourselves is like praying to god.
- Christianity is not to be used as a weapon but God is for those who want the best in life.

- God was is and will always be he wonts us to be happ
- Rather than religious, I consider myself spiritual. I feel 'religion' often is controlling, while spirituality allows freedom to explore many possibilities.

- Religion has caused most of the world problems
- There is No God but God, and Muhammad was the Messanger of God. I believe in living your life conscious of God (Allah). By doing so, one will always do the "right" thing.
- The word "religion" has been corrupted by organized institutions that have used the concept of spiritual belief as a yoke with which to bind people into servitude. Religion should be, ideally, an expression of an individual's deepest beliefs about life and his/her role in it.
- Religions reflect the regional environment they were made in.

- Heaven is a free gift. We can't earn it or deserve it. Man is a sinner and can't save himself. God is loving, but just and has to punish sin. Jesus was punished for our sins. He took our place. We receive the gift of eternal life by faith in the finished work of Christ.
- I'm a Christian, yet a scientist. Everything happens becuase of something. Evolution does exist, but only God could make it happen.
- Each person and ONLY that person is responsible for what they are and what they will become
- I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God and that through Him, we can have eternal life in heaven, and a full life on earth. I believe in tolerance and accepting others for what they are.
- Love God and care about others everthing else falls into place.
- Treat EVERYTHING (including other animals besides humans) the way you would like to be treated. Don't depend on a god; act.
- Life is bioloigical, we are an advanced species, but never the less we are animals. People should just get along, life is too short
- I am the Creative Principle.
- God is my Friend and Father. He is part of all my loved ones that have gone ahead. I believe that when a soul is ready to participate, they will be reincarnated to complete a life that has been taken too soon. I feel that we have things to learn here on Earth and God knows we can not learn all the lessons in one lifetime.
- Man fears, death, so he invents eternity beliefs. These beliefs evolved, just as animal have, competing for survival. Science corrects the grossest superstitions, but irrationality can predominate over truth.
- To be kind to others and try to learn from them in a harmoneous way. Especially Elders
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- NOONE CAN BE WITHOUT ANY BELIVE. TO HAVE A FAITH IS LIKE BREETHING IT IS LIKE OXYGEN
- God is sovereign, and ultimately he wants us to be satisfied in him...
- Nothing can be proved. Until then.......the world will have to wait to be certain our outcome.

- What kind of moral or religious values could we possibly set forth with such an immoral president! How can he go to church, living the lifestye he does, I would be ashamed!!!
- Religion is something people believe in, not what they are.
- religion is becoming less and less necessary amd will eventually become extinct.
- There is an afterlife, heven, hell, and devil, but no god. Nothing runs the afterlife. (unless you go to hell, in which case the devil makes you watch "Barney and Friends", "Power Rangers", and other just until your eyes exlode.) People that don't change their carnivorous ways to a vegetarian lifestyle are punished.
- I believe mostly what the Catholic church believes, but I also believe killing animal is wrong in any way, shape, or form.
- This survey did not provide many options for thoes of us who believe in both creation and evelotion, not the creation of Adam and Eve but creation non the less. Who also believe that religion as we know it is still greatly used to mantain control and that it is also useful in maintaining a sociaties values. Is a wonderful concept that promotes love everlasting, forgiveness, the right way of living, etc. also at the same time promotes a seperatest us against them, I am choosen, your not, mentality. More blood has been shed in the name of religion than any thing else in the history of humanity. That makes me sick!
- False beliefs create false hope. There is no god and never has been or will be
- There is no god, 'cain killed able ...and then cain took a wife'...where'd the wife come from? ther is scientific proof that there were cavemen, but in all religions, they say there was adam and eve, perfect and beautiful..then where'd the caveman come from? in the old days, there was a need to explain the question of 'where did we come from?' and the bible was they're way of killing two birds with one stone, they gave them an answer, and then gave them a reason to obey certain rules, and not have comp ete chaos. It worked very well, still does, but this is the nineties, time to look at the evidence.
- The concept of a god is totally irrational. Earlier in human history religion was necessary to explain the unknown. Now that our understanding of the universe has increased, we should give up the childish illusions offered by the belief in a god. This does not mean we should abandon our morals.
- An intellegence made the universe and the laws that control it; we and everything in the universe are composed of the same sub-atomic particles and forces; it's our self-awareness that is a unique gift from God and will continue after our physical death.

- this is a Christian slanted survey, did you get the answer you wonted, and witch golden rule ?
- Religion is necessary on a personal level; you must have something to believe in. If you do not, you'll be empty inside.
- Love God above all.
- God is the one and only "uncaused cause." He is the supreme reason for everything and is in control. People have to learn to trust in Him.
- Canadians are much more laid-back about their beliefs, and there is less fundamentalism here. I've found religion to be the best thing in my life.
- do unto others as you would do onto you
- christ borned of a virgin-died on a cross for me and the forgiveness of sin. he is my savior and lord.
- Having faith in a religious philosophy is a blessing, it is good and important to people. Faith is not possible for me. I do not understand why people fear the devil and actually believe others can be devil worshippers, it makes no sense, people have a hard enough time believing someone or thing loves them...Religion also offends me with its belief that it has a corner on 'goodness' (sometimes, then others, I think, we'll who else would??) For many people I know, religion has been a positive influen e in their lives. I just can't go there.
- everyone has the right to do as they wish aslong as they do no harm
- The only reason for being religous is if you can't control your self any other way and you have pathetic fear of your own death. Truly good people will do good deeds for other people with no earthly reward AND no hope of reward in the afterlife either, otherwise your doing good deeds for selfish aims.
- Anyone who believes in the same religous values as their parents is just a mindless Zombie, unable to think for them selves or live up to the possibly cruel truth. Christians particularly are responsible for the deaths of many so-called witches and other belivers such as the south americans through their typically stupid and hypocritical ways.
- I am starting to believe that nature religion such as some parts of wicca, native american, and Chinese/Japanese nature worship may have some validity, but I belive all organised religion is a dnagerous and essential evil thing as it removes persoanl freedoms and allows excuses for all kinds of atrocities.
- Moderation in moderation
- Religion is a man made idea and there are many faults to it and people don't seem to stay in wahat is real when they follow religious beliefs

- rastafari is the root of david, conquering lion of judah. all tongues shall praise his name
- Jesus is the answer! Your survey is confusing religion with a person's spiriituality. They are vastly different in general. There is no salvation from religion, thus my response of "no answer" to many of your questions.
- I believe that everyone is entitled to believe in whatever religious affiliation that they wish. Sometimes they can be either repressed or intimidated by others, but still should have the right to believe what they choose to believe for themselves.

- do unto others as you would have them do unto you
- Seventh-day Adventism is the best religious philosophy/theology that explains the great controversy between good and evil.
- I don't believe in anything (supreme-being wise) really.
- I worship one god, ME! I created this universe because I got bored one day
- Religion has always had a useful purpose before the second millenium. After that the churches of the world failed to become modern along with rational thought. The bulk of religious people today have lost sight of any intrinsic values their religion might teach, and allowed themselves to become concretized like the sybols of their religion. Ultimately, religion is not a failure, its abilities are.
- I don't follow Christianity, but do believe in a Higher Power. American society often contradicts itself in preaching about traditional values but not living up to those standards. I generally have more respect for those who have made a conscious choice in their religious beliefs than those who blindly follow what society/their family tells them to believe. Make your own choices and live according to your beliefs!
- I believe with all my heart that my church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is the true church of God. And that Jesus Christ is my Savior and without following his example I cannot be saved. I also believe the Book of Mormon and the Bible (as long as it is translated correctly) to be the word of God. I also believe that God still produced miracles and has a living prophet on the world today.
- For me, it's not about religion, but about a personal relationship to God through Jesus Christ.

- I don't believe in a supreme being but wish I did because believing there is not is very lonely compared to being raised Roman Catholic and believing you are not alone and there is an afterlife.

- Jesus Christ is the Son of God; He is coming back(soon) for all of those who have confessed Him as their Lord and Savior. Jesus never told Christians to tolerate sins, such as homosexuality. In fact, He tells us to rebuke and condem it.

- As Muslims we submit to Allaah (the One True God). Allaah, is the Creator. The main focus of Islam is the worship of the Creator without accociating any of His creation with Him in our worship. All other religions attribute some form of creation to their god(s) be it a man, a stone, an idol or whatever. Asscociating partners with Allaah is the only sin that will never be forgiven. And Allaah is the Most Forgiving, the Oft-Returning.
- It is simply unimaginable to conceive of the universe and its details to have been 'there' all along or to having been formed by accident. There has to be a 'Super Being' behind this marvel of complexity and order - GOD. HE is one and independant. He has created man for the sole purpose to serve Him. He has provided guidance for man through His prophets(peace be unto them).
- Mankind must excel to heights of excellence, but, in a collective sense... not forgetting those who are forgotten. Such is the life put forth by Islam.
- The key to life is to balance the spiritual and material.
- I believe in a higher power, but everyone should be able to believe in what they want. I also believe that it's not for me to judge what someone does or believes. I wish all Christians would read the Bible.... "let ye who is without sin cast the first stone."

- None of the above attitudes describes my attitude about religion. I think that being religious will save you, yes. I believe some people can be at peace just by believing. Not ALL people can be. - As a Muslim I shall attain peace with myself and the world by attaining peace with my Lord.
- We were placed here on this planet by a power that I can not yet explain and choose not to figure out. When I do pass on to what ever lays before me, I shall await it with open hands.
- God loved us so much that He gave His only Son. I really don't believe in "Religion". Any one can have that. You can do anything "religiously". It's a heartfelt commitment to God with the kind of Love He had for us. That we would give our lives for Him by living for Him and serving Him everyday. In return He grants us peace, love and prosperity and a hope of an eternal future with Him.
- I believe that faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is the only path to eternal life. I do not believe that any human being can be good enough to earn salvation; therefore, God gave salvation as a FREE gift, available to each of us if we accept it.

- If you want insight on religion, read the book "Anatomy of the Spirit"
- Religion is beneficial to many people, but in the grand scheme of things, I don't think that one's particular beliefs matter, as long as you are true to yourself and try to help make your world a better place for everyone (yourself included).
- Religion is related to other parts of one's society such as language and other cultural practices. I believe people should not try to "convert" other people to their religion by saying it is "the one true religion." Everyone should have the right to believe what they want.
- Thanks to my Higher Poweer, I am clean and sober today.
- I believe that the Godhead is very flexible, and ritual is not only to worship him/her but is neccesary to find each and everyone of our own personal power. We are all a part of God, as s/he is part of us. We much find the manifestation of God in ourselves, in any way we see fit. :-)

- I am not sure whether God exists or not, but because of the fact that there is suffering in this world, God is either not all powerful or not all loving. In either case he is not worthy of being worshipped

- Reality is the key for me, I do not want to live my entire life using the guidelines of wishful thinking as if the life I have is allowed to exist within the bounds of a fairy tale. My children shall hear my perspectives on the truth, and will have to make up thier own minds, for I may be totally wrong; althought given the evidence I've seen, I believe my rationale is the best option. - My religious philosophy differs from my belief. Christianity is living my life after Christ's example. Religion is a process. It is man's attempt at worshipping God. There is a difference. Being a Christian means having a personal relationship with Christ. Religion is vague, general, and once again is more of a process of worship.
- satan loves me
- I don't believe in fairy tales. Noah's ark, genesis etc. I can never believe in it because it sounds too fantastic and incredulous. I don't live in the biblical times where my beliefs and concepts of the workings of the world was explained away by superstition and magic. I lived in a modern technologically advanced world. Jesus was a very charismatic mundane person who managed to lead a large following. His doctrines were designed to control the masses and uphold certain moral codes and values. ou obey these commandments and you will live in eternity in heavenly paradise. If you do not adhere to the commandments your soul will be condemned to hell for eternity.

- Being an Atheist doesn't mean not being at all spiritual. I think being an Atheist, for a lot of people I know, might be better described as being Pantheism -- it is for me at least.
- Christ is the image of the invisible God
- With God all things are possible!! I am so happy that there are as many christians in the World! We need to unite together to bring the nonbelievers to our walk with the Lord! God Bless America
- Christianity is social hogwash - Half do not know what they believe, and are social hypocrites - and the rest are fanatic about something that they do not fully comprehend - 'Faith' in something that you do not know the history behind seems rather foolish indeed. They need to stop looking for a anthropological god, and realize that even 'Jesus' looked upon god in such a fashion in some instances - all sects all basically teach the same philosophies, but disagree on everything, kinda takes someone aback doesn't it?
- I believe religion is not only set for you to follow blindly, but iti is a way of life. I believe God has asked us to think and ask about the reasons behind all he has asked us to do, and if not, we must accept and believe in His logic blindly. Religion is the key to happiness and success.
- I have learned after studying religions, their history, and the cultural history of mankind that the Holy Torah is a gift from G-d to mankind. It's values, commandments and wisdom are eternal and they are a lifejacket in a sea of ever changing values and societal mores. Torah is Truth.
- I believe that ALL religious/symbolic systems are attempts to picture something that humans have only barely glimpsed. I can learn from all of them.
- An active faith in Jesus Christ makes all the difference!
- Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Only through Him can a person find true peace and reality.
- People should be entitled to believe in what they wish as long as they are satisfied with it and should not feel forced to conform to the ways of their particular society or family etc.
- I never had religious structure in my family(although we celebrated x-mas in the sense that the family got together & exchanged gifts. I had a wonderful nanny who was a devout Buddhist when I was growing up(lived in Asia, parents expatriates)If I feel connected to any "religion" it's got to be Buddhism. I don't practice, but I try my best to be a good person and not to harm any one.I believe in peace.
- First of all, I believe religion is not something left upon man to decide. Religion is chosen by God (Allah) for His servants (mankind and jinns); as such, it is built in within them, as the concept of fitrah (innate inclination to Islamic purity) shows, meaning we were are all born with the natural belief to worship God ALONE, it were our parents and the circumstances surrounding us which converted many of us into false man-made religions or ideologies. However, throughout man's life his self reproac es and reminds him of his true innate religion. Islam is the religion I am referring to; Islam, meaning submission to the will of God. Note, Islam is the only religion which has a MEANING and it is not named after any of the creation (man, place or tribe).
- I Love my Shrunken head collection
- Not many questions on the survey but it was interesting anyway.
- We don't need any gods.
- I believe that the church is the Body of Christ and that by being a member that I am also part of the Body of Christ
- I truly believe the signs of the times are here! God is getting ready to send hiswrath on this earth , just as Noah"s days. Wake up America!!!!!
- You must find yourself, and by doing so, hesitate from defining yourself and associating yourself with any one group. You must not beleive in any asolutes (neither an absolute supreme being, nor an absolute beleif in its non-existence) and, in doing so, you, in an oxymoronic way, beleive both and liberate the soul. Also, meditation and "just being" are tools to that noble end.
- I BELIEVE THAT WE ARE ALL GENUINELY GOOD PEOPLE. WE STRAY AT TIMES BECAUSE OF ENVORONMENTAL REASONS. I DONT FEEL THAT CRIMINAL LIKE BEHAVIOR IS GENETIC. ITS TAUGHT.
- I believe that you shouldn't have to believe in any set religion but only to be what you want and to believe whatever you want. I don't think that God solves everything. If he did, this world would be a better place.
- Which intelligent person can believe in a "God" ?
- Always do good, one day, you'll be rewarded. Never do wrong, one day, you'll be punished.
- The important thing is not the religious sect to which one belongs, but that person's relationship with the spiritual entity whom they worship.
- try to be good; love others as you love yourself; everything comes from something
- I believe in a personal God who loves each individual personally. I believe Jesus Christ is His Son, and that belief in Jesus is essential to salvation. I believe there is no salvation apart from Jesus Christ. I believe that salvation through Jesus Christ is the only way to fulfillment and satisfaction in this life. I believe the Bible is the inspired and unerring Word of God. I believe that the Holy Spirit is faithful to each person on earth to reveal to that person what he/she should do to obtai salvation.
- Faith in Jesus Christ as a personal Savior is the only way to heaven, as the Bible plainly teaches.
- Christ came to restore man to his place as the image bearer of God. Faith in Christ and his substituionary sacrifice on the cross is all that is necessary and the only means to achieve peace with God. It is a free gift and furthermore, unobtainable through any merit of man.
- I believe that christianity sells because many people are tired of trying to cope ffwith the modern world and offers Jesus who will take on all your burdens.
- Religion is PATHETIC! If there is a God I dont think that he would want people to adhere to strict rules and regulations. I dont participate in any form of religious behaviour or worship yet I believe that I am a decent human being who wants to help other people, and that is all that matters. I do not believe in Hell or Heaven though I do believe that there is something after you die, but that it is very similar to Earth except better. As for Hell , noone deserves to be condemned to eternal suffering whatever they have done. They need help not punishment.
- Jesus is coming soon! Get ready.
- There is one way to obtain salvation & that is in Christ. It is the same for all cultures, ethnic groups, and nationalities. Without Christ, there can be no salvation or eternal life.
- RELIGION IS A PREACHING OF THE WAY TO LIVE LIFE
- religious people are better behaved
- I wish to serve God through serving others and am committed to service through teaching and healing.
- Whatever you feel is right for you deep down inside, not through influence of others is what you should focuss on.
- I believe that everyone has there own beliefs and that you should respect that. Your ideas should not be withheld, but not pressed either. Every one is different...
- I do not consider myself to be religious. I have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This gives me joy, peace, purpose and hope in this life and the promise of life forever lived in the presence of God after death
- Strive to know God better and each has its own timing in dealing with this internal struggle. The truth wil always prevail.
- UNITY OF ALL RELIGIONS BECAUSE GOD IS EVER CHANGING AND ALL RELIGIONS ARE CONNECTED IN SOME FORM OR ANOTHER.
- I don't think of it as religon. I think of it as spirituality.
- I consider my self a Christian ecumenist, regularly attending both Roman Catholic and Protestant churches. I have a difficult time with those who find it necessary to point out differences in religions, for I believe in searching for the commonalities of all of the world's religions.
- i have a problem with religions that preach vengance, lety alone trying to convert "pagans"
- I believe that God is the sole being for all of the answers
- God is something which all of us can tap into in our individual ways - it is a soothing and loving entity but is not so crass or unevolved that it forces us to abide by its own will.
- As a moral issue, I see organized religion as an attempt to set good standards of behaviour, but nothing mystical. I believe humans to be just a part of nature containing a simple "life force" that remains after death. This force is part and parcel of all living things, animal or plant, and, for example, mine will be passed into the grass that is fertilized by my remains, to be eaten and absorbed by a grazing animal or insect. It's completely cyclical.
- Our Heavenly Father created us all, loves us all, and wants us to return to Him.
- "Religion" differs from a personal relationship with God through Christ. One can be "religious" about watching sports. Christianity centers on a full-time relationship with God, made possible through Christ's sacrificial death for our sins. This ensures forgiveness for our sins, direction for our lives, and eternal life in God's presence.
- The key to happiness is following the teachings of Jesus Christ. In Christ is peace and eternal life.
- Be a good person, it comes around in the end
- There is not one supreme being but a life force.
- An it harm none, do what thou wilt.
- With so many brainwashed bible people, no wonder our society is going to hell.
- I am disgusted by how commercialized and unchanging with the times the Roman Catholic Church has become. God wants us to love and respect EVERYONE no matter what color, sexual preference, weight, gender, etc. Roman Catholics can be a bunch of hypocrites. I know...I was baptized and raised Roman Catholic.
- However we got here, we're here now and we're going to die soon. Try to make the best of it - have fun and try to make a difference.
- I believe that to take an entire ideology whole is not to think. I chose my beliefs individually.
- I don't believe that you need to go to a church or temple to worship a god. I think that it is more important to practice what you believe in everyday life.
- To me, religion is a very personal thing. I was baptized, but am no longer a practicing catholic[sp?]. I DO NOT believe anybody should blindly follow anybody or religion. We were given brains to use, not to ignore.
- I am a pantheist and Goddess-Worshipper. I believe that God is everything and unites us all.
- Religion should be a useful, workable technology which actually gets results in helping me make my own and others' lives better and better!
- There is none worthy of worship than Allah (God) and only Allah. Before the Day of Judgement, He will send a prophet to every nation.
- We have a unique family religion. We like it that way.
- tolerance.
- religon has done nothing for humanity as a whole
- everyone is different to one degree or anotherget over it
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- I don not follow the dogma of any church, just the guidances of my soul
- Don't let anyone fill your head with nonsense--doubt much. Test any "spiritual principles" you're presented with to see if they work in your life. If not, scrap them.
- The phyics I belive are false preachers
- I believe that many people who do attend church every Sunday, think that they are special and better than those who do not attend. You can tell by the way they walk around on Sunday's. I believe that whoever wrote the bible is one heck of a writer. I also believe that people who attend church regularly are merely being baby-sitted with "story time". I have read the bible, but I don't need to attend church every Sunday to have someone read it to me. Many people also think they will be saved if they go to church. Whatever? Your no-better than me.
- I believe, to be saved, you must believe that you have sinned against God, which makes you a sinner, realize that Jesus Christ was sent from Heaven to die for our sins and that He is our Lord and Savior, that He rose again the third day after He was crucified, repent of your sins (turning away from sin and turning toward God). You must believe this with your whole heart, and then you are saved. Then follow in believers' baptism and are added to the church.
- i have an e-mail address therefor i am
- I believe that we are moving toward a God less society. History shows us the dangers in this kind of thinking and behavior. The question becomes; do we pull together, bring God back as the centerpoint in our lives, or are we predestined to accept the ultimate conclusion, which will be God's fury and destruction?
- Non-traditional christianity. Hodge-podge of beliefs. Tolerance if not acceptance.
- God sent His Only Son-Jesus. He died for our sins and rose to give us life. Believe and be set free
- All deserve hell, Only Christ's perfect life can save us
- I believe in God, but I believe that most religious institutions are basically corrupt, and I don't believe in proplets, Adam and Eve, etc. I think that life is just too weird for there not to be a God.
- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
- Jesus came to earth and died for our sin. Whoever believe him can be a son of God through Jesus's blood
- There is one and only one god Allah, and prophet Mohammed(S.A.) was the messanger of god.
- The whole idea of a supreme being is detrimental the the liberties of our society. Religion in the past has done more harm than good. It is immpossible for me to comprehend the concept of the Christian God, He is internally contradictory, and immoral.
- we will never cease to hate until we make strides to understand life itself. Religion is the blinder.
- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- The universe does not require a diety, and can be explained without the inherent complications of involving supernatural beings. This condition is true by default.
- the Bible
- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you
- there is reality and the perception of reality
- I believe religion today can easily become cultish. I don't understand the Bible. I think it's a wonderful storybook, but it's just a storybook. I think people should thrive for eternal happiness and well-being for themselves and others.
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- Take a little from Hinduism, a little from Buddhism, a little from Taoism, and nothing from Catholicism
- God is love; he sent his only son to this earth. Those believe in Him who save people from sin can get eternal live.
- Jesus, save me from your followers...
- God is omnipotent. He rules the universe and the regions beyond it. He has no partners, no son, daughter, or mother, and knows what is in our hearts, and knows what we know not. We are accountable to God alone, and one day, we shall return to him and be judged. The Koran is universal truth, and those who life life according to its teachings will be successful in this life, and the hereafter.
- "There are ten million laws on the books trying to enforce the ten commandments." If everyone would develop a good moral code, live by it, and respect those of the people around them, the world would be a far, far better place.
- There are 3 Truths, 1. My religion is right yours is wrong. 2. There is a way to find out, are you in a hurry. 3. My Innermost Thoughts Are Not Subject To Acceptance By Others(MITANSTABO)
- I'm an eclectic UU pagan of Jewish heritage. I wish you had more write-ins on this survey.
- I believe in a higher power, not necessarily a "God", but something beyond our comprehension - and something neither good nor evil. I think that people should be good to others and to themselves; be tolerant of the beliefs and lifestyles of others; and make an effort to help those less fortunate. I believe that humanity is too complex to have been accidental or merely an evolution of nature alone. I think something sentient got the ball rolling.
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- there is one god for all and organized religion is power struggle to control the weak and uneducated.
- Every thing has an inheirent right to live, and though there is no reward for doing good, and no unearthly punishment for evil, that does not change the fact that some things are inheriently right, and others wrong
- I believe in ME and MY DOG
- technically agnostic, researving.000000000001 % probability for a diety
- I feel that everyone has a different need in religion. I do not beleive that you should argue about what you beleive. Everyone is different.
- Religion is belonging to and supporting that which is bigger than yourself -- and showing this in daily life.
- The Force of the Universe is all around us it created us and its energy is always guiding us. When neccessary it is available as an independent energy source giving strength and endurance, it is a giver of knowledge as well.
- beliving in Jesus' sacrifice you can get the ethernal life
- In the name of Allah the most beneficient, the most merciful. Islam is a way way of life.
- christians are weak minded
- I believe in a mixture of science and religion: for example I believe that God made the Earth and then set evolution into motion and that Adam and Eve are symbolic of all of this.
- I belive that all beings who do not follow the same religious practices as me should burn in the flames of hell.
- There is a God who initiated the universe; nonetheless, he shows unique compassion for each individual. Jesus is God's gift to us to exemplify the perfect relationship with him.
- There must be a SupremBeing
- I would very much like to be more involved in my religion, but as an extreme minority this is difficult. I was born Jewish, but was repulsed by the sexism and harshness of Jewish dogma and converted as soon as I learned that there were real alternatives.
- Religion is significant in society, but in both constructive and destructive ways. It encourages people to help their own group; but it also encourages them to hate people who are not like them.
- The book: Coversatons With God realy put a lot of how I feel inot words. I feel that organized religion today breeds hate and intolerance. I prefer to find God (in whatever name or gender) inside of myself, and not from a "church." Many religions have excellent teachings, but many have been warped by personal hates and desires
- Religion kills - don't do it
- Skepticism, Atheism, Pragmatism, Nihilism: Life, itself, has no meaning or purpose. Some things within life can be meaningful.
- My Christianity has helped me along lifes path in unfathomable ways, whether or not Christianity is for "everyone" is not for me to say, I just know that it has helped me.
- There is only one God and Muhammad is His Prophet
- Love God and your fellow man. Grow in your spiritual relationship with God. Continually search for truth. Everything you do must be motivated by love.
- True Islamic monotheism. That there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger. Follow the Quran and sunnah (Prophet Muhammad's way)strictly and only for only that brings happiness and Paradise. Islam means peace because it is and it deals with all aspects of life with great justice.
- There is god except Allah and Muhammad is His last messenger.
- I think the freedom of one person finishes where the freedom of other people begins, that religious integralism is not really religion and that if someone does any harm to other people in the name of religion, is not religious, is mad. everyone is judged from other people for his actions, not for his intentions. And, above all, even if it's sometimes difficult, TOLERATION is the most important thing
- Islam is the way to eternal freedom in this world and th next
- I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS ONE GOD WHOM WE ALL SHOULD SUBMIT AND WORSHIP, HE AND HE ALONE. WE SHOULD TREAT EVERYONE WITH GOOD INTENTIONS AND KEEP PEACE IN OUR HEART AND MINDS. THANK YOU AND MAY ALLAH KEEP YOU IN HIS GRACE.
- I beleive in science and what I can see. Traveling the globe and spending time on every continent has turned me against religion.
- "HE THAT WORKS EVIL WILL NOT BE REQUITED BUT BY THE LIKE THEREOF: AND HE THAT WORKS A RIGHTEOUS DEED-WHETHER MAN OR WOMAN AND IS A BELIEVER-SUCH WILL ENTER THE GARDEN (OF BLISS): THEREIN WILL THEY HAVE ABUNDANCE WITHOUT MEASURE."QURAN(40:40)
- I think that, if God exists, he must die.
- I hold to no beliefs but my own, which veer between pantheist and atheist. I do not believe that god is a being separated from ourselves, but something inside everyone that anyone can hear in their own heart. Everything else is the attempt to explicate experiences that we have yet to find words for.
- just be
- Submission to the will of God is the only key to happiness in this life and salvation in the next.
- Without God I would not be, therefore, I am.
- One absolute God, undescribed by creatures, created good and bad, devil and anges, heavens and hell, The merciful,The powerful... He has all the perfect attributes. He reveals to man kind this reality, through centuries, and give him the choice to accept it and tolerate it or to revolte. He want us to obey his rules, as the whole univers do, by our choice and openmind.
- Jesus Is The Way
- I believe that Nature and the Universe are incredible things. They are to be praised(not worshipped) and respected. They are the ecsence of everything.
- There is no God. Religion keeps people from being rational.
- I believe that Jesus is the Son of the living God, and the only path to heaven. One who is not living in obedience to Christ is lost-even if he (or she) doesn't know it. Anyone can be saved by obedience to Jesus.
- There is no deity save Allah. He has created everything. He is everyones Lord. He does not forgive shirk. In striving for Him you will attain Peace and Bliss. And if you attain the position of Jannah you will experience things that no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard, and no mind ever imagined. And to disobey Him and His last Prophet Muhammad (saws) and ascribe partners with Him may land you in the burning torments of Hell. Allah Ta Aila knows best....
- in our journey to eternal life , we stopped on this planet for testing and for constructing the planet.( test is by the creator)
- I believe in God, and I believe in Jesus Christ and I know that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that he died for all of our sins, and anyone who does not have God in their hearts, really needs to try and find him because He will be there for you when no one else is.

- beliefs passed down from when the world was a scary place.
- it's about love
- Do not do anything to anybody that you would not like done to you.
- There is truth.
- I believe that I do not have to attend church to be moral, obedient of God's will. I also believe that God made me naked, and gave me "equipment" to enjoy in relationship to others and the ability to enjoy those others and give them enjoyment in the use of it. I also believe that in nakedness and screwing we can be just as close to God as we would be if we were in our "Sunday finest" sitting in some church pew. I believe that our society is all screwed up in that regard, like most churches are when the advise that you should give them your Sunday offering, instead of Tithing to the storehouse (storehouse meaning what Webster's says about it). I believe that most religious organizations are mostly headed up by clergy that are lazy, worthless, and ill prepared mentally to make an honest living otherwise.
- I try to follow the teachings, and example of Christ; I've always tried to keep alert to experiencing new spiritual insights.
- THE LOST 10 TRIBES OF ISRAEL ARE THE CAUCASIAN PEOPLES OF EUROPE AND ALL THE COVENANTS GOD MADE WITH THEM ARE EVIDENT IN THESE PEOPLES/COUNTRIES. JESUS IS THE MESSIAH SENT TO THE 'LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL'(HIS WORDS). IN THE END THE KINGDOM OF GOD WILL BE ESTABLISHED ON THIS EARTH WITH JESUS ON THE THRONE, AND ISRAEL SHALL RULE WITH HIM.
- I believe there is higher power, and I believe that there were too many days when that higher power was no where to be seen in Viet Nam.
- Trust in Allah. Submit with all your senses. Do not argue.
- philosophy? errr...........
- Religion should be personal, especially NOT a political issue! The right -wing christian fanatics want to make freedom of religion a choice between different christian sects (catholic, baptist etc.) not what it was truly meant to be. I am an " out of the broom closet" wiccan, but most of my friends don't have that luxury. They feel that if their beliefs were known they would lose their children, jobs etc. where is the freedom in that??????
- i believe man (in the plural term) is the image and likeness of god, and is a child of god, that relationship is indistructable and eternal
- My religious philosophy is that too often too much emphasis is placed on a person's religious beliefs by others that should not be concerned. I believe that I can be just as close to God out in my cow pasture with or without others around me, bare assed naked (the way He made me) as I can be in some building, sitting in a pew, etc., dressed in my Sunday finest. Or for that matter, "pumping my sex organ into that sex organ of a woman beneath me", creating sensual pleasure that God gave me the ability to enjoy, in the realm of worshipping Him, as the 2 of us in all our naked glory have the ability to do, as he provided this for us in His creation of us. I stand open for discussion on this at
for realistic, educated discussion if anyone wishes to dispute me. - When I neede guidance I prayed to God. Embracing Islam has brought more purpose and spiritual peace to my life. All Praise be to Allah (Most Exalted and High) and peace be on our prophets Adam ,Abraham(father of the prophets)Moses,Isa(Jesus),Muhammad and all the others not mentioned. La illaha ill allah (there is no "god" but God).
- Yeshua (Jesus) is the key to eternal life and to happiness here on earth. The Holy Spirit is the giver of joy and understanding.
- Find God through the highest ideals you have, the try to reach those ideals yourself, to become more like God.
- Religion is a crutch on upon the progress of the world. Unless we rid the world of it, there will continue to be wars. Give me an example of a war involving atheists! None!
- Please don't preach to me like my opinion doesn't count!
- My belief in God keeps me striving to be the best person I know how to be, allows me to forgive myself when I screw up, allows me to accept forgiveness from others and most of all teaches me to forgive others. The Spirit does not just enter you, you must invite the Lord into your life, and by doing so you agree to abide by his will, not your own. I,m still learnig.
- I'm a strict Monothesis who beieves that Allah (SWT) is totally seperate from His creation. It is important to both do the 5 Pillars as well as act rightious to others. One can't go without the other. I don't like Hamas or any other terroist group. No one has the right to act wicked towards others.
- My philosophy is to follow a biblical teachingswhich I've summarize in seven words: Love God. Love your neighbor. Judge not.
- There is only one God and if you believe in God who created Adam and Eve and try your best to follow the teachings of the religen you belong that is all that matters, all of Gods children should be respected and not judged by the title of thier religen.
- God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit is the Creator, redeemer and sustainer of manking, who calls men to Himself and receives them in his gracious love through the merits of Jesus Christ who has attained for the offense of man
- I believe that Jesus founded a church that can be seen as "one (united worldwide under the successor of Peter), holy (improves society), catholic (universal, worldwide, for all) and apostolic (founded by the apostles, rooted in their memory of Jesus's teaching). I believe we will be saved by God's grace, through faith in Jesus which is made manifest through good works.
- Muslim in belief, respect all others' beliefs
- Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and to love your neighbour as you love yourself.
- Love God, love neighbor
- ISLAM+SCIENCE=WORSHIP GOD
- Our sins are forgiven because Christ died in our stead
- God loves us just as we are--but he doesn't want to leave us there. He wants us to be just like him--not to be more loveable but to be more useful. Max Lucado
- conservative Christian
- I believe you must read and interpert the Bible yourself instead of relying on your spiritual leader telling you what the Bible says. I believe that you will be judged in the end by your adherence to your interpertations of the Bible. Thus, I belong to the Church of Ruth. I believe that how you treat others during your life will be paramont in how you will be judged. The Bible says, Judge not, lest ye be judged. The act of one person judging anothers actions is what I believe to be one of this worlds g eatest sins. I also believe what people need to learn and practice most is the simple act of tolerance. I believe you should worship and do your good works in private. I believe your random acts of kindness will go far toward your salvation.
- Jesus Christ is my Lord & King. He brings peace, power, love & joy to my life.
- There is no other diety worthy of worship but 'Allah', & Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Allah'u'Akbar...
- To each his own!
- I think that the vision George Lucas had of the Jedi masters has come closer to God in many ways than the Church has. We are luminous beings, not this crude matter.
- Only Jesus saves; we cannot save ourselves.
- whatever religion you believe in is fine as long as you respect others rights to belive differently. DON'T try to force your beliefs on others. If something is legal but you don't think it's morally right then just don't do it,don't try to make it illegal for those who may believ differently.
- Thou art god. I believe in an objective/subjective reality. The gathering of perspectives creates a static reality. Each person shapes that reality through his perspective.
- Believe in One God, Religion guides human life, this life is only temporal
- If religious groups could concentrate on what they believe in rather than try to conform everyone to their "correct" way of life, the world would be much better off. (Or for Christians, "remove the plank from your own eye first.")
- God created the Bible to give us a guideline for how to live in this world advantageously. It is our nature to rebel, but we only hurt ourselves.
- God is every where. God loves all how love him.
- Religion should be your own thing. It should give you peace.
- I believe that because we are all born in sin, we are alienated from God. But by believeing in Jesus Christ and life, death and ressurection, we have access again to a relationship with God. Christianity, I feel, is not a relgion, but a personal relationship with the living God. I plan to spend eternity with Him and am enjoying having Him be the most important thing in my life until that time, as well.
- I dance the Wheel
- I believe that God created me and gave me free will so I could decide if I wanted to love Him back and live with Him for eternity. I do love God for the world He made, for our incredible capacity for love and inventiveness, for sending His son to atone for my sins, and for preparing a place for me in heaven.
- FAITH IN AND DEPENDENCE UPON GOD ARE WHAT GETS ME THROUGH EACH DAY.
- Religion is not only a way of life but it is life in itself. No matter what people may say about their personal belief or disbelief in GOD what it comes down to is that everyone believes in GOD on his/her death bed!
- Jesus is the way the truth and the life. Anyone who believes in Him (which is not the same as just believing he exists or existed, it's following Him)--recieves eternal life in Heaven. We deserve eternal life in Hell for our sins, but he took our punishment, and payed for our debts. God is actively involved in our day to day life--and following Him gives us purpose. God's ways are beyond our ways. We need to trust in Him.
- There will never be any true world peace until religion ceases to exist and the peoples of the world rely on themselves, take responsobility for their own morals and values, and stop using the crutches they call 'gods'.
- The Bible is God's "love letter" to us with eternal principle's that guide you through every situation in life. Faith in the christian God is the only way to find peace.
- an ye harm none, do what ye will
- I think religion is the key to my success as well as the success of mankind.
- religion is innate behaviour, like language.
- My beliefs are personal.
- I do not preach my beliefs to others; I expect that others will not preach to me.
- There should be laws prohibiting public evangalizing.
- Far too much fuss is made about religion; far too often religion is a control for the masses; far too many horrible acts have been commited in God's (or whomever's) name.
I think life is a test; we are here to live as God instructed and to ackhowledge Him, and those who succeed shall be rewarded, and those who choose this life over the next shall get exactly what the wanted, this life, but punishment in the next. Islam is the only progressive way of life and has come for all humanity Live and let live in moderartion. Religion is a very powerful force which creates a balnce between hell on earth and the heaven to come. The philosophy of Islam is "do ma'ruf and don't do munkar. Prayer (solat) can get the best personalities to us and the Islamic Law is a way of life and become us to get safety and peace" In our hectic lives, a few moments of worship is the ONLY time we get to reflect on the way we live. It's your soul's version of a workout at the gym. Try it for YOU. To be precise, I'm a weak athiest. No, that doesn't mean I don't have the strength of my convictions. It means that I don't deny the existance of god(strong athiest). Instead, I simply don't believe in god. It might not seem like it at first, but those are substantially different viewpoints. What it boils down to is, I don't have faith. In anything. As the definition of faith is the belief in that which one has no rational reason to believe, I've never understood why anyone would have faith in a ything. Religion is my relationship to my God and Creator. the universe is what made all of this......it is you, me, the rocks, the trees, the animals, the earth, the wind, the air, water, fire.... too bad we don't respect that. There is only one God, ALLAH and Mohammad (pbuh) is his messager I suppose I'd be considered anti-religious, because I am so vehemently atheist, I feel that religion and the idea of a supreme being is stupid. Religion is for simple minded "follower" people. Even smart people are quite simple minded when it comes to religion. I believe in the higher power that lies within all of us. It bears no human form and certainly does not require financial or social sacrifice in order to be utilized or justified. I feel organized religion is a high-level form of brainwashing, coercion, and control. Jesus Christ is Lord of all, he is the author and finisher of my faith. accept him as my personal saviour, into my heart, soul, and mind. he's the way the truth and the life!!! he who believes in me shall not perish but have everlasting life!!! The Urantia Book Over time I have gone from liking, to hating, to tolerateing religious. I think that they do good and are needed. BUT people take it WAY to seriously Religion creates hate between differences. Very BAD! THAT GOD IS ONE AND MUST BE WORSHIPPED IN TRUTH. DENIAL OF THIS SUPREME CREATOR IS BEING FALSE TO YOUR OWN NATURE. The religion is a sect created to lie the people and control indiscriminated. The religion is a Fucking shit! If God exists, he has to die. I believe in the concept of energies and karma-what goes around, comes around. I'd like to say I practice what I preach 100% of the time, but I am human, not divine, and I mess up. Although I believe others have the right to believe as they wish, I also know that they will be lost to God's eternal kingdom if they do not believe in Jesus Christ. I will spread the Gospel because that is what I am instructed to do in the Bible, but I will not brow beat or nag anyone into acceptance. God gives us the alternatives and waits, and so must I. IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND WANT TO KOW M RE ABOUT JESUS CHRIST, CONSULT YOUR YELLOW PAGES FOR THE LOCAL CHRISTINA CHURCHES IN YOUR AREA. everyone has their own religion, no matter what "sect" you belong to. it is a personal matter of the heart. Jesus is as He said; the way, the truth and the life! #6 is flawed. You usually believe in resurrection and eternal life on another level simulaneously. We are created by Allah, and we should obey his commands. Organized religion has bastardized the teachings of great and enlightened individuals for their own gain I believe that life consits of "forces or energies" and we either disapate at death or attain a higher energy God=truth Jesus died for my sins, I now have apersonal relationship with Christ and I will have eternal life with him when I die It's an incredible con job when you think of it, to belive something now in exchange for life after death. Even corporations with all their reward systems don't try to make it posthumous. I believe there is only one god. He has no son, daughter, mother or any body else. I also believe in the Messenger of Allah. Prophet Mohammed (SAW) religion=mind control Relegion should be your life not a way of life. I think that too many people see the outward way of life, rather than the inward (batin) and if they saw the inward way more, they would be much more intelligent..in their soul that is. khodah hafez. Wicca/Paganism in my way of life, evolves around you personal beliefs. Yes I believe in a Goddess and God and the All (the one great power or life source, of which the Goddess and God are both a part), I do not believe at all in the Christian Devil/Satan or an ultimate evil. This a religion, it which has open my heart to all the worlds potentials. I believe in the power of the self - something I think most religions tend to stay away from in order to keep the "flock" mentality. The more I read, learn, and think, the closer I get to Atheism Although religion is important to me, and is the basis for morals, I do not believe that one needs to attend a group (ie: church) to be "religious." Truth, love and freedom is forever. I don't believe that any one person, religion or church here on earth has every correct answer. It is up to each individual to search their souls...because if you are truly searching, the truth will show itself to you. Prayers never bring anything....They may bring solace to the sap, the bigot, the ignorant, the aboriginal, and the lazy -- but to the enlightened, it is the same as asking Santa Claus to bring you something for Christmas. The most important thing to me about my religion is the fact that it is a PERSONAL relationship with Jesus Christ. If God exists... he/she/it cannot be proven or disproven. Who cares? I just live a happy, healthy, kind and productive life. The end. I believe in some kind of higher life form, equal in male/femaleness, perhaps a god and goddess. I believe that they look out for people, and I believe that as long as you don't hurt anyone emotionally or physically, you should be free to do whatever you want, and comprimise is important. as long as what you do doesn't hurt anyone(including youurselff) do what you wannt, and let others do what they want. I believe in christianity, but my mind is kept open to different aspects of religion. I pray and have my own beliefs, but I accept the possibility that there is no "true" God. I still pray and hope that someone is listening!!! When I was a child, I believed in God. As I became an yong adult, I couldn't believe. If enogh of terrible and tramatic things happen to you in your life, it becomes harder to believe in good things. As a small child I would pray, but my prayers were never(not once ansered). I want to believe, but how? CHRISTIANS ARE FULL OF SHIT The more you see just how vast and complex the universe is, the more you have to realize that it wasn't created by accident or by chance. Every creation must have a creator. If we are created then God must have send us guidance for eternity, not a book that man changes whenever he feels the need to. We are eternal children, of our loving Heavenly Father, We lived with Him before we came to earth to receive our bodies. He loves us so much he sent His only begotten son in the flesh to save us that we through Him might return home to live with Father & Jesus Christ. The key to happiness is finding out who you are and consentrating less on what people think you are I believe in a supreme almighty GOD Jehovah as creator of life and a means to happiness now and in the future. Faith is the answer I am a Biblicist and a literalist, ie., when the Bible makes plain sense I seek no other sense and all figurative literature must be interpreted in light of clear passages. I am also a separatist believing that in lifestyle and ecclesiastical associations I am to be holy as God is holy while at the same time showing love for people as God so loved the world. Religion is the greatest cause of human suffering throughout all time. The majority of religous people are hypocrates which have a policy of convert or die. Sects (Co$, etc...) should be banned and severely repressed Islam is the way of life Humans are responsible for their own destiny. There are very, very few religious people who I feel I can respect not only for the sincerity of their religious beliefs (not the beliefs, themselves), but also for their integrity, the clarity and unbigoted nature of their thinking, and the proof of their humanity and compassion displayed by their words and actions. However, even though I respect these people - though they possess all of these qualities which I hold so highly and try so hard to maintain a clear view and course of action on - I cannot ollow their religious path, believe what they believe. I decided a long time ago that - before I can maintain any belief in something as veiled and vaporous as something that I cannot sense but can only speak to and hope is there - I would make myself aware, and make myself aware of that awareness so that my decisions would not be influenced and especially not made by someone else. This way, if I should ever decide that I do believe in a higher being than myself (an unlikely event, at best), my thoughts an actions will all be based on not only what I can sense exists, but what I can actively reason for my self exists. It is far too easy for people to just believe when another says "Here is Hope - a chance for you to have meaning in your life and above all to understand and appreciate that meaning - but to get that hope you must first believe me when _I_ tell _you_ what that hope will be." Jesus Christ is part of the Trinity of God and He offers the only way to eternal life. I do not know what to believe, but I know that there is more to life than just living it and there is an afterlife. Cramped is the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it...--Matthew 7:14 Just that science can explain everything to a point, and until it can explain everything, I'm going to leave room for the possibility of somehting RELIGION IS A PRIMATIVE WAY OF THINKING. IT E IN A MODERN SOCIETY. Belief is Existence I belong to the Shia faith which is a very much misunderstood sect of the Muslims because the media has often portrayed us as being terrorists, bigoted or fundamentalist. The truth is that Shias believe that terrorism and for that matter the taking of any human life (unduly) is one of the gravest sin. The concept of women is also greatly misunderstood because it is made to appear that women are like prisoners in islam ---the exact opposite is the truth because in Islam women are probably given more rig ts than in any other religion. Take an example -- is Demi Moore more free or a veiled girl (or a nun in the Church) At first it may appear Demi is as free as a bird but when one interpretes what free means one realises that Demi is being exploited by fiolm producers and not only is she man-habndled by actors but is made to appear naked to millions of viewers. Well that's a paradox isn't it. Hope you got the point right. Dont give any trust to someone presenting a book as 'THE TRUTH'. Just take time to study and try to understand rather than believing in something enforced by another being (natural or not). If you have a brain use it and help other people using theirs. Be tolerent with people tolerent with you. When a war start somewhere, religion is almost everytime involved, even if this religion says 'You shall not kill other beings...'. I very much believe in Free will... As well as "an' it harm non, do what you will" If people would look into most "Established" religions they would find that most, if followed even most of the time would make life in this society much more bearable. There is one basic principle in most religions I have encountered. Don't hurt your fellow human (Sometimes the word unjustified is used). Religion is destructive in all manners, it breeds ignorance, intolerance, and manifests itself in power and hypocrisy. The only good thing that religion does is instills some moral code for some individuals, although this moral code is not usually strictly adhered to. This non-adhersion to moral code is overwhelming evidence of the hypocrisy of religion. Questions 7-10, 13 and 14 are too restrictive. Q7: in my heart I adhere to my faith 100%, in my actions it would be less (I sin); Q8: twice a week; Q9: traditionally my family is Lutheran, I am not; Q10: raised Lutheran now Baptist; Q13: I will eat MOST meats, I suppose human flesh could be considered a meat; Q14: John 3:16 and John 14:6 follow the path of the salafus salih and you will be successful i definitely believe in God, but i am a strict believer in pre-destination, which does not allow for a savior. Religion is responsible for more murder than anything else ever invented by man i do not believe in the supernatural, therefore, i do not believe in religion. Man created 'god'. Screw everyone over I do not like many Catholic values. I beleive ISLAM is the perfect way of life for all mankind and for every time God is the center of our lives ALLAH IS IDOLATRY!!! Thou shall worhsip none other then me (God) There in no other object of worship but Allah and Muhammad is the messenger of Allah I am catholic and I think religon is important but guys like Billy Graham and guys that broafcast their masses really piss me off I believe that having something or someone to believe in is extremely important. In general, a human being always needs that good feeling that comes out of believing. I am a muslim, and I came from a country where most people around where either muslim or christian believer. I took the power of believe for granted until I came to the United States. I realized that there are other people that believe much stronger than myself in totally different God than my God. Also, I have met people who don't beli ve in anything. That is what really brought me back strongly to my believe. To summarize, any believe bring peace to the heart and to the mind. I prefer Islam, it works for me. I am very very happy..... I'M MUSLIM AND I THINK EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO BELIEVE IN WHATEVER THEY WANT. I ENJOY MY NEW RELIGION AND WILL RAISE MY CHILDREN MUSLIM. I believe that you will go to heaven no matter what your "religion" is if you treat people with respect. I feel relgion is very interesting but i feel relgion can be like fire very helpful and lifegiving when used in a safe context Or it can be jsut the opposite when it out runs its boundaries. Science and spirituality will soon begin to strongly converge. We are all one. One whole eternal, radiant, and ever-changing field of energy. We can all learn to fully open the connection, and flow with the energy of the cosmos. FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE -JOHN 3:16 No sdupreme being; no life after death. I don't worry about all the millenia I wasn't around before I was born so why should I worry about all the millenia I won't be around after I die? Someone once told me a "definition"of Agnosticism that seems to suit me...I'm not sure if God exists or not-- but if s/he does, I'm on his/her side... I follow the traditional views held of the Holy Bible, that it is God's Word to us to follow. In it, we find salvation through Jesus Christ. He is the only way to eternal life! THE 10 COMMANDMENTS! each person has the right (god willing) of their own directed experiece of God. I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth , and in Jesus Christ, his only son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into hell, the third day he rose again from the dead. I believe in the Holy ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen I believe that Jesus is the one true Son of God and only through trusting Him can someone spend eternity in Heaven. Otherwise, they reject His sacrifice and are condemned to an eternity in a literal burning lake of fire. religion is the system that God chose for us to experience this life in a wholesome and productive manner. God is love. God doesn't care HOW you worship, only THAT you worship -- because it is to YOUR benefit, not to God's, to do so. Religion is a personal agreement between the believer and the idol, with elements of social conformance to maintain a civil culture. "No man cometh unto to the Father, except through Me" Through out history religion has been used to manipulate and control the masses, but a spiritual belief is very important My philosophies, beliefs and principles are all syncretic. religion is not important being a true believer in Jesus is. John 3:16 NIV Jesus died for all our sins, and we need to spread His love to all nations. Religion is too often used by weak-minded, mean-sprited people to hide behind and justify their prejudices and intolerances. The God of the Bible too much resembles dictators like Stalin and Hitler for my tastes. Condemning to Hell (the cosmic concentration camp) all those who do not believe in him is malicious and evil. Being omnipotent should not be a license to be supreme cosmic dictator, judge, and executioner. God is love. wutchcraft is fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!! believing in One God and his prophets ACCEPT ISLAM AND BE SAFE The infinite number of horrors performed in the name of religion overshadow all type of "evil" ever in existence. Man need look no further than himself to see both the face of an angel and a devil. I don't know, nobody else knows, it's unknowable and irrelevant. true sunni.shia islam is the best way of life; however, I'm sick of sexist Muslim men WHO BEAT THEIR WIVES! p.s., the Torah = The Old Testament. Religion is a crutch while personal spirituality and personal moral code/respect for living things is the key. anti-semites/racists/homophobes/zealots are all abusers of values and religion. My relegion, Islam, offers peace with GOD and with all humans and eternal happiness. "...What shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world and lose his own soul?" If there is a god im sure he would want nothing to do with the war causing money making crooks, oops sorry churches. Have a look just about every war in history can be traced to religion. Isnt the "ours is the real lord" attitude worse than racism, its caused more wars. Religion is the way in which we, a finite entity come in contact with the infite and reach higher levels of understand; ourselves, each other and those mysteries of God, enebling us to leve better lives. Mine is not a code of principles in order to attain eternal peace, but an attempt to have a real and personal relationship with the Creator of all things. IF YOU ARE NOT SAVED WHEN YOU DIE, YOU WILL GO TO HELL, YOU MUST ALSO REPENT YOUR SINS. There is no god. Religion was created by man for man. I believe Jesus is the Son of God and God Himself, but loved us so much He died on a cross to save worms like us from our sins. I take the Bible literally and God at his word. Having been very close to death twice I wasn't upset about leaving mortal life behind and moving on to the next level. The great mystery gets answered at death: for 100% of us --no affrimative action programs-- no hate---no racisim---no I am better than you---you cannot buy your way into "heaven" or out of death. There are alot of very surprised spirits... I believe that God is entering into the world in a new justice for all people and that through coming to an understanding of Gods wishes for all a new equality for humankind will be born. Although I believe in God, I do not subscribe to any particular ideology. Though I admit the necessity of some commenly accept ethical rules, I dislike the veiled representation of such rules in religion. Biblical Christianity christianity is a very hypocritical religion which has harmed our country for long enough I believe there is a 'Creator' who created the world but has largely left us to our own devices. Faith is important to many, and so be it!!...I have a poor opinion of organised religion I believe in the Wiccan Rede: An' it harms none, do as thou wilt. Secular Humanist. Religion is more than a belief system; it's a way of life. Religion is an emotional crutch for those who are frightened of death and too afraid to take responsibility for their own lives Allah is life "Religion is the greatest instrument for the order of the world and the tranquility of all existent beings. The weakness of the pillars of religion has encouraged the ignorant and rendered them audacious and arrogant. Truly, I say, whatever lowers the lofty station of religion will increase heedlessness in the wicked, and finally result in anarchy. Hear, O ye possessors of perception! Then be admonished, O ye endowed with sight!" - Baha'u'llah ( Glory of God) christianity is not a religion it is a relationship with Christ who in tern seeks a personal relationship with the believer No religion has prooved itself to be logical(provable) or moral, thus there is no incentive to believe or follow. World has nothing bad No god, know peace. As an atheist, the thing that annoys me most is when theists say "you have no beliefs." On the contrary, I believe in freedom for everyone, and being allowed to believe in the existence or non-existence of any god(dess). Keep the church and state apart, or suffer a evil fate. There has been no objective proof to prove the existence of ANY supernatural entities. Therefore, the burden of proof lies on those who believe in them. Religion, while it helps to form a sense of "community", is the most destructive idea ever foisted upon humankind Religion, specifically Christianity, should be the foundation for everyone's life. Jesus came to save and its up to you to accept salvation. God bless. You spelled "Atheism" wrong! It's interesting that (according to the current survey results) while most respondants claim to be Christian, *less* than that amount believe in the Bible and *alot* less in the Trinity! Religions separate us more than they bring us together. The One True Religion is the Individual's Personal Relationship to their Creator. Religion and spirituality are becoming closer entertwined in this day and age. I think many prople are turned off by the word religion, and would be more open if the word spirituality was substituted. The concepts behind spirituality will bring the good forces of the world to the forefront. Morality IS possible without religion; it's just a lot harder to maintain without threats of heaven and hell to reenforce them. I believe that there is an entity and that any higher being that is worshied is part of the All Religion to me is a mix of all those that I've seen in my life. I have lived abroad for almost half of it, and have seen religion in many forms. There is no true religion, it is what you feel, they are there only as comforters, and therfore it doesn't matter what you beleive. Islam Erfan Substantive motion of Mulla Sadra There cannot be a 'supreme' god or being due to the fact that there's suffering, imperfectness and evil; and if this god created everything, this god would have also created 'evil.' No Ultimate God would create a imperfect universe! There is no afterlife. Period I am a very ecucumincal United Methodist Christian. I believe in universal salvation although I am more interested in salvaion in this life. Jesus is the path to God for me but I do not believe he is the only path. I see more evidence that God exists than that he doesn't. I know Jesus Christ is the way because I have seen the miracles and experienced the joy. You cannot try God on like a coat and throw him away after a week just because all of your problems didn't go away, you have to hold on. Trying to get closer to Allah each day Religious writings are too often misinterpreted. Many damaging misconceptions are born from this.People should listen more to their hearts and not their religious leaders. Religion is the outward expression of what we hold dear in our lives. If we believe in the goodness and mercy of God we should exemplify that in our own lives. This is what I call religion. I believe that all communal religions are man made and are actually just social clubs that the religious elete use to control the masses and subsequently create wealth for themselves. The use of the terms religious and religion are confusing in the sense that religion is just superstition. You have to have a personal relationship with Jesus because no church or religion will save you. Love under will, Love is the Law. Love is Low-Phi ! Do no harm and don't meddle, especially in politics. That there is a Being greater than humans. God has entrusted earth into Man's control (Genesis) and look what has happened! Humanism cannot be logical simply because of the limited knowledge of man - how can you believe in something which in its very nature is limited in some way? Atheism is merely not having the courage to admit that maybe there's something greater than yourself out there... Regarding Question #1: God is not a "Being" and cannot be comprehended. Perhaps you should rephrase the question to ask: "Do you believe that there is a God." people with strong christian beliefs are struggling in an agnostic or atheistic society , much of society is missing our God and is void of true love. society enjoys freedom of choice and is in love with themselves , satan is doing a fine job . science , material wealth and self gratification are many peoples God. our nation is a whore to the devil with no concience. we are in for some terrible times in the near future ,both believer and non believer. There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is His Messenger I am suprised q#13 does not contain the Holy Quran as an option! Q#15 Enjoy good forbid evil! One God The religious feelings have to change when we cross over the 21th. More tolerance and less stupidity. Take responsibility for your actions, your free to live your own life so long as it doesn't hurt others. Live and then you die. I had trouble deciding if I was Anglican or Episcopal, being that episcopalians are anglicans. I believe God is the creator of of the universe, That the bible should be taken literally(and not interpreted) according to common sense, and nothing should not be questioned(Politically, socially, economically, scientifically, or spiritually). I am a pastor who believes that the key to living is to obtain life eternal as soom as possible so that one can begin "living" in the present. One should respect every living. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE IN RELIGION AND CHRISTANITY,BEING A CHRISTIAN IS TO LIVE CHRIST LIKE AND ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF GOD,RELIGION IS A RITUAL BASICLY AN OUTWARD SHOW The Bible is mythology. Devout believers deny their reason when they buy into ideas as absurd as conception without intercourse and making a woman from a man's rib. Does this make sense? Is is ANY DIFFERENT from ancient Greek mythology? No; both were invented by ancient people as a way of explaining life. Nowdays, we explain life through science. Christianity and belief in God is an idea whose days are numbered. (By the way, regarding the Bible: WHAT ABOUT THE DINODAURS?) Basically? Don't hurt anybody. Respect others' beliefs. Don't be narrow-minded. Don't impose your beliefs on others. If personal faith works for you and gives you strength, bravo. Following Islam in full will make me a more useful, effective and objective person who is at comfort with himself, others find comfort and peace in his company and Almighty is pleased with him. I believe that to be "religious" a person must have beliefs that answer important questions about life and death. "Religious" does NOT mean believing in a mainnstream faith. Religion is deeply personal and should be accepted as such by people who disagree religiously. There are far too many conflicts- from a family scale to an international one because people cannot accept differences in religious beliefs. "The separation of Church and State"- whatever happened to *that* part of the Constitution written by the Founding Fathers? pantheistic Christian Religion will enable you to become better in tune with yourself and others. The Universe has no need of a custodian; it can take care of itself, as can we. i believe that some god has made the earth and now he/she is slowly watching it burn out I am a Christian who seeks to return to the heritage of the Apostolic Era of the Church -- to first century faith and practice. This involves getting in tough with the Hebraic background of authentic Christianity. Today's organized Church has been politicized, intellectualized and commercialized. It bears little resemblance to the original "faith once for all delivered." Ashes to ashes, dust to dust: I don't want to go, but for you I must. To learn and to love Jesus Christ is my Savoir. I believe that the Father sent Him from Heaven to die for us on the cross. Jesus made a pot head into a Jesus Freak!!!!! Religious and spiritual contemplation allow us to grapple with the difficulties and pain that life can bring along with providing us with a community to share our joys. In my opinion, struggling with the meaning of our existence is more important than finding any sort of defined doctrine. There is only One. That One can be called God or whatever else anyone wants to call It. God is Omnipresent, so everything and everyone in the physical and non-physical universe is a manifestation of God. We are all one with God and one with each other wh I believe that people should be allowed to follow their own beliefs without judgement or restraint as long as it does not harm others, I do not believe that going to church is necesary to show my faith in God, but to appreciate and love what he has created. I do not understand why people kill in the name of religion, in my reasoning, any religion that supports killing would more closely follow the concept of the devil. Jesus Christ is the son of the one true God and he died for my sins. I will be forever in Heaven with him when I die as I believe and have repented of my sins and do so daily. My beliefs are but a combination of all the religions of the world. Therefore I have tolerance for all religious affiliations. Religion is the organized state for one to gain insights of the Creator in this life - to aid in our spiritual direction for the eternal life with the Divine. To me religion is a way one thinks with the recognition that there is an aboslute. My religious philosophy is based on the belief in one God and worshipping Him by following the guidelines He has put forth for us. To my age group, religion is often of little importance unless it is a very firm belief. Thoughts are individual and often confused. zuhair ubrahim Do not follow religion blindly but ask why you believe in what you follow. God created the world and all of us. there are a light:it isn't important the name we give to this light. Every religion is a way to adore the same light that gave us the life. "every man and woman is a star governing their own orbit" as Crowley said. The Wiccan Rede says: "and it harms none, do as you will". Both express my religious philosophy: God/the divine/Spirit is something you have a personal, interier relationship to. R Why do some people try to force their religions on others? Organized religion is useless as its political and theological or philosophical opinions change to fit the mood of society. Therefore Religion in mass form is destructive and each person should search for religion themselves. We must accept the beliefs of others and they must accept ours. I believe in a loving God, open to the interpretations of all. Religion is the only way to be happy in this life and afterwords. Understand God not as a holy "person" but as love itself and live a life guided by love. So even if I don't know the goal, I do know the way. :o) RELIGION IS IMPORTANT TO SOME PEOPLE AND OTHERS COULDN'T CARE LESS . I DON'T THINK YOU SHOULD HATE SOMEONE FOR WHAT THEY BELIVE IN , ITS JUST LIKE SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE YOU KNOWING WHO YOU ARE PICKING FOR AN ELECTION , IT CAN BE PRIVATE OR PUBLIC While I will not condemn others for believeing in something, I will recognize the paralells between their's and my own belief and try to objectively dissect that belief for the raw truth. Your survey asks about 'religion'. While I answered your questions as truthfully as possible. I feel it necessary to state that I am not 'religious'. I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and follow his teachings. I believe that if we care about GOd he will care about us. I am the "ruler" of the world and you little people are my slaves. The truth is out there. I will eat your heads off. There will come Aliens in yer 2000 and will take me with them.Worship me. Attend church when I can, but don't make a habit of it God is my rock. Everything I do, it has something to do with God. My whole life is wrapped up in God. Truth is constant, therefore religion is the process of discovery. I believe the truth to be that which is presented in the Bible and fallibility to be that which is inate to human reason. JESUS DIED FOR US.........WE SHOULD LIVE FOR HIM! I am a spiritual, not religious person and follow the dictates of my own soul without another human serving as intermediary, which is quite unnecessary. Eckist believe in the LIGHT & The SOUND of GOD (or SUGMAD) I think the most important thing is, as Jesus told us many times, to love your neighbor and help those in need. I am dismayed by the seemingly large group of people who use religion as an excuse to commit violence. Religion should be taken out of schools. It has a lot to answer for in causing racism and other ignorance. Islam is a religion that keeps you on a right path. It is actually a summation of principles that help you to be firm on the right path. When you pray to allah, allah is obliged by your prayer, though he doesn't need your prayers but He gets happy when you accept His greatness. He rewards you with what you are wishing for. This peace and tranquility cannot be found in any of the other religions. But at the same time Islam also teaches us to respect other religions. that is why History has seen that Isl m was not spread on the force of Sword but it was the teaching of Islam that caused them to be attracted towards the teachings of Allah. Thus we offer you Islam. You will find your peace in this religion but if you are not willing to accept Islam and want to remain ignorant it is upto you. My duty was to make you aware of what is truth! Contact No: niazimm@meena.cc.uregina.ca Its good for some, bad for others 1. Scepticism: There is no absolute knowledge. There is one bible quote that I like, and that is in 1 Cor 13 "For we know in part". 2. Science: The only true way to knowledge is through observation and testing. We only know in part, but science can enlarge that part. 3. Humanism: Man should be the target for human morality. We should not seek morality in gods, the laws of nature, mother earth or anything alike. Truth and living from the depth and core of our existence in harmony with creation and our Creator I can't believe that so many people blindly follow and accept anything that is laid out before them. If people would take the time to look out from behind their Bibles and think for themselves, the world would be a better place. As far as I'm concerned, the Bible is just another book (and a work of fiction at that). I'm so sick of hearing Bible verses quoted and twisted around to serve a purpose and to spew hate and discrimination. man needs a divine set of guidelines to live happily on earth I believe as most muslims believed before me that, "Muslims love death more than non-believers love life" I am Muslim, so I believe on Al-Qur'an Selfism: God is in everyone and by bettering yourself you become closer to you/god/overall happiness Religion causes hate. It is destructive. sorry, I don't speak well in english, for this answer! By! do unto others as you would have them do to you I subscribe to the most rational, compassionate and humane religion-Shia Ithaansheri. many questions are insolvable by materialistic and human means ; but God exist and created also the logical way to feel him , as we can feel sorrow or happiness . Believing is finding and doing peace , and also fighting for it and for justice . The creator is the only meaning. because he gave meening to meenings. he is the first and the last. because there must be first and last. Since he is greater than every thing in every thing he should be the leader of every thing. Matthew 22:37-40 YOUR SURVEY IS TOO GENERAL there are MANY water ways that lead into one big ocean. all of which are diverse from eachother and none with a greater importance than the other...... But Jesus is my way I believe that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Life is this present moment you wany my philosophy?!?! Hmm...well...therefore...are you ready for the Second Advent? Revival is coming!!!! JESUS CHRIST IS LORD! Unless a man repent he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. You must be born again! This questionaire had several leading questions, and bias was easily detected. One such problem was the emphasis on religion (for example in question 14). I don't believe that RELIGION is the key to happiness, but I do believe that a close and personal relationship with Christ is. As far as my philosophy, it is obviously difficult to summarize in a couple sentences, but Love the Lord your God with all you mind, heart, and strength and everything else will fall into place. If you really love God in that way you will do all the things you are supposed to. . . feed the hungry, love your neighbor as yourself, etc. . . Seek to love your Creator with all your heart, mind, body and soul. RELIGEON IS A CRUTCH USED BY PEPLPE WHO THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS,TO HIDE THEIR HYPOCRACY. religion is so primitive After having bad experiences with organized religion, one becomes disillusioned and follows teir own code. spiritualism without specific religion Religion is a crutch for some and a guiding light for others. For me, I choose to rely on myself. God is the center of the universe Christianity sucks I believe that you should do as you personally believe but not so that it condems others beliefs. have a blast and let the others have one too I'm a Christian, which is not a matter of "opinion" My beliefs are not just how I happen to see the world -- the Bible tells us the Truth. Unfortunately, even though the Bible calls us to love one another as ourselves, I find many Christians to be sadly intolerant. Seems a lot of people have trouble with the "love the sinner, hate the sin" concept. i like this survey If you follow Quran and Allah´s laws then you can live better here and after the cause we can never make good here in life cause you live only 70-80 years Jesus Christ is my savior. He died for me save me from my sins. I believe that the Bible is the Word of God to mankind, and that faith in the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is necessary for salvation. "For god So Hated The World That he Gave his Only Begotten son, That Whosoever Does Not Believeth On him Will Perish And Be Denied Eternal Life" - Myrddin 3:16. Religion is a bunch of nonsense. Jesus was a Rabbi whose followers were a bit too overzealous. Visit http://www.montego.com/~jim/cor.html ! There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah The key is not necessarily "religion". It's salvation. Believing in Jesus Christ. That he died for us and was resurrected that we would not have to suffer. I BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOUR AND AM WAITING FOR HIS RETURN TO RAPTURE HIS CHURCH MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL Islam is trul the only answer to all major dilemmas the world is facing today. A personal relationship with Jesus is about loving God and loving my neighbor! Those who are blessed enough to be given a chance to follow God should do so. Those who are deprived will one day be given a chance. islam is the way of life I definitely believe in a higher being, that my beliefs are personal and I don't lie anyone trying to change my beliefs. I believe that everyone believes in God. (Even a self-styled atheist will pray, "Please, let the baby be all right and I'll never do.....again." I believe that adherence to any religion is better than adherence to none. I believe God sent prophets to every part of the Earth, but that over time most of their teachings have been distorted or lost. I believe that adherence to a revealed relgion (coming from a prophet such as Abraham, Moses, David, Jesus, or Muhammad) is preferable to adherence to a r ligious philosophy thought up by a human being, such as Humanism or the Church of Mormon. I believe that any religious person behaves more responsibly than any non-religious person does. I believe that America was a better place when most Americans were religious, and that it will be a better place again when Americans insist on the freedom of all people to believe and practice as they wish. organized religion can be used for good or evil. it can help people or can be used an an excuse to persecute or kill them. on the whole, i think we would be better off without it. I believe and live Quran cause it is the words of Allah. I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY. RELIGIONS GET TOO CAUGHT UP IN DOCTRINE. SPIRITUALITY IS A PERSONAL THING THAT PEOPLE MUST MEDITATE AND FIND OUT BY THEMSELVES. THEY MUST READ ABOUT EVERY ORGANIZED RELIGION TO KNOW ALL IDEAS IN THE WORLD BUT THEY MUST PERFORM SELF-SEEKING TO DISCOVER WHAT THEY FEEL TO BE REALLY TRUE. As long as you harm no one (including yourself) do what you please Be moderate. I believe that living a Christian life means that you treat others as you wish to be treated. Basically, I believe that we should follow the teachings of Jesus and live the way he has told us to. Someone or something must have created it all! Anyone who rigidly believes anything will crumble in time. The less I become religious and dogmatic, the more I discover the strength of my spirituality. I don't believe in a "supreme being" but in a universal spirit; something we are all connected to, in the spiritual realm. All religions, to me, are forms of honouring the same thing. I believe that when you die, you are judged for your sins, then God puts you in either 1 of the 3 stages of heaven, or outer darkness(hell). Yes, we do believe in the ressurection, and that all men(good and bad)will rise again. We also believe in eternal marriage in one of our temples. Try to set a good example TO ME RELIGION IS A WAY OF AND I TRY TO LIVE IT EVERYDAY. Following a Religion is easier to live, but is harder to believe all that strange concepts! For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son, and whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. After accepting Christ as Saviour, the Holy Spirit will guide into all truth. Until then, your eyes are blinded to the truth. Remember, A fool hath said in his heart that there is no God. Personal beliefs are one thing - but when it is used to legislate against others' behavior or access to information, it is dangerous. Your right to swing your fist ends when it hits my face - your right to personal belief ends when you legislate against m and who I am? Andrew the Costance? "RELIGION" IS ERROR; GOD IS THE TRUTH. TO HABITUALLY FOLLOW A ROUTINE OF CHURCHGOING IS ERROR. THE LOVE OF GOD IS LIFE ETERNAL. Mortal life gives us the opportunity to learn how to choose between good and evil. Faith in a loving but just God empowers us to make good choices. By making good choices we bless others lives and become like God. Many paths lead to the same center. We cannot know anything - We can only look inside ourselves MAN CANNOT EXIST WITHOUT RELIGION If God is a "truth", how is it possible that I disbelieve? Free your mind. I believe that God sent His son Jesus to die for me on the cross. I believing that he rose agian after the third day that if I try to my best potential to be in His will and do His work that I will go to heaven when I die! GOD IS LOVE AND THE CENTER OF THE LIFE Jesus Christ is my life. Today is the first day of the rest of my life, literally - forever and ever................. As a Skeptic, I'm aware of the limits of human understanding. We cannot know with certainty if god exists, or does not. It is a question you can waste your life trying to answer, and a question you cannot answer is merely speculation. Speculation is nothing to base your life on. I try and live my life by making wise decisions based on individual situations. I have no god to justify my actions, I have to accept complete respondsibility. I think religion isn't a part of life. It IS your life. Your whole way of life should be in accordance with your religion and it reminds us this life is short. The idea of the soul is not reconcilable with modern science. the only views that are not entirely contradictory are materialism and immaterialism. I believe that there is a God who is all knowing, all powerful, and all merciful. There is no one "true" way. Each person has their own true way. Sometimes I feel my religion has become very money hungry and corrupt in a way. I hardly attend church and I pray on my own more than I would at mass. I think a little differently than when I was younger which has pulled me away from the church. Religion is responsible for more death and hatred than any other single force in nature. my own religion prayer is a sign of personal weakness Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Take up your cross and follow Him. i believe that i am master of my own destiny. Do as you would be done by ( with apologies to the original author!) Jesus died for our sins. And as long as we believe in him, we will be in heaven with him. I'll never know where we came from untill I die, and still then I may not know. Therefore, I'm not going to spend my life worrying about it. If there is a higher entity or the like, it would surely respect my thinking it through rather than blind fear which I see most religious people as haveing. To quote Hobbs: "What is material is real, what is not material is not real". Treat all people with kindness and respect because it's the right thing to do, not because some imaginary deity told you to. We must respect all forms of life and stop raping the Earth, for we are all (including mosquitos,Milkweed, even Cannibis)God's children. be good I practice martial arts, which is, in a sense, my 'religion'. I believe in respecting others and myself and achieving personal (spiritual, mental, psychological, etc.) peace because it's the only way to survive and therefore continue the evolution of ME. Religion is based on a fear of death. The things that are important do not die. The ego (self) is not important. Love is all. I do not believe in any religion. I believe that religion serves merely to calm the fears of those afraid of the unknown. My religious philosophy is that I believe in God. I consider Jesus my best friend and constant companion. I believe that God is an all powerful, forgiving father and holds me in his arms like a daughter. What you do now is all that counts. Make the best of it.

- I belive religion should be a whole. There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus exists/existed, but religion is a bond that is only between the mortal and God himself- That is who I answere to in the end, not the priest who I think judges prematurley and tries to tell me he knows what God is thinking- that alone looks like a control thing to me. I know Jesus/the universe hears me and knows everything I do even when I deny to myself that I have sinned- I have learned all the same things that Christans kn w just by being out in the world and experiencing life- but I'm considered a heathen because I won't pay allot of money for church dues and join the church. I have learned what the bible means with its many lessons and such- I know the same they do- Religion is in the spirit- its a bond between spiritual father and child- I guess I consider myself a sort of rogue christian.

- Syncretism--My beliefs are syncretic; they are combining different beliefs, principles, or philosophies. I believe in a creator and I am content with my own beliefs, so I will not participate in or practice any modern religion--I refuse to be a sheep, led in the wrong direction that is not a true comfortable feeling in my soul. I am also somewhat a subscriber to the notion of existentialism, however I am a firm believer in Devine Intervention (i.e., fate/destiny--non-coincidence related experiences. I believe in novelty and the exponential quickening of events for and because of mankind--as if it were now in the middle of a transition between an adolescence and a maturity. As a human child develops into an adult, the human race (the ONLY race on Earth) also comes to a maturity and develops and learns as it grows and experiences it's existence. Thus, humanity is as a living sentient being--at least I believe it should function in this manner. Keep your eyes to the skies--many answers will soon come o our planet and it's peoples from extraordinary influences. Evolution is not just a theory. The human race here on Earth has deep roots beyond our world. The Universe is quite exiguous to the devine creator, and yet, it is at the same time infinite to both God and Mankind.
