For those of you unaware, the "latest craze" is collecting
little stuffed animals called, "Beanie Babies". Perhaps this is a first in
that these simple items are inexpensive to obtain, well made, and of interest
to males, females, young and old.
Admittedly, I have succumbed to this addiction. I visited my mother for Christmas
only to find these little stuffed animals strewn throughout the house. I asked her
what the deal was? And she gloated about how she purchased a little stuffed seal
for $5.99 a year ago, and how it was selling in excess of $140 now. Needless to
say, that got my attention - I can't remember the last time something appreciated
in value to this degree. I can't walk into any gift shop and not mention the
word "Beanie" without several people appearing out of nowhere to share their
thoughts on this subject.
So let's examine this phenomenon a bit - see who is into this fad, and what their
thoughts are on its future...
