- I want Radar very Badly!!!
- I think everyone collecting Beanie Babies are carzy (including myself). It's so much fun " going out for the hunt "
- I like the low prices at Baskets.
- I think it's stupid that people like these things so much that some even slept outside the micdonalds just to buy as many happy meals as they could. Mini beanies use to come free in the happy meals. Then they would just throw away the happy meals. Which is a big waste.
- i don't like not having enough of one for everyone. like princess and erin.
- I wish retailers would sell them all for the same price. I'm tired of going into stores that sell the new ones for 5.00 and other stores sell them for alot more. There should be some type of control!
- I find the whole thing/craze utterly ridiculous! I liked the beanie babies when I first biught one in 1993 because they were so cute and soft and inexpensive. If a child saved their money, a beanie baby was an attainable goal. Now you can't get the beanies away from crazed housewives to allow your child to buy one. Now, it is nearly impossible to find one for $5 bucks either.
- After trying to locate beanies whether out shopping or on the internet I find it quite disgusting that so many are taking advantage. My understanding from what I have been told from Ty's site is that BBs are supposed to priced to make it easy for children to purchase. Well I'm an adult and collect for my niece (which got me started collecting for myself) and sometimes I can hardly afford to purchase them, let alone my 5 yr. old niece. Just try to purchase a Princess or Erin. I mean, how much do the
e retailers pay that they feel justified in charging at the least I've seen $150.00 up to $400.00. I think it's ridiculous and disgusting and Ty should not allow these authorized retailers to sell at a price like that. How are we supposed to purchase BBs when they are priced so out of line.
- I wish there would be a way that you could get any retired ones you want!!!!!!!
- Those second market dealers are greedy pigs!!
- There are too many greedy adults snapping up beanies, these are mostly for the children!!
- wish I could afford the older retireds on the secondary market. I love my beanie collection- it makes me happy to come home from hard day at work and see them growing.
- I think beanies are really cute, but people are selling them for too much.
- Love the whole clooection!
- I think that many retailers are to mean. I also think that children deserve Beanies more than MEAN adults!!! I think that Ty should also stop making the Exclusives that can ONLY be found in a certain place!!! I don't like that!!! I also think that it really shouldn't matter if the tags on Beanies are gone. I think that they should makes like a certain KINDS of Animals like a Collie!!
- Beanies Rule!@!@
- I Love Beanie Babies!!!!!
- I think they should retire, Derby, Mysric, Mel, Inch, 3 bunnies, Valentino, Patti, Sly
- I am slightly disturbed to see that stores are selling the newest Beanie Babies for $10.00 instead of the price of the currents.
- I will not pay more than $6.00 for a Beanie. Am I going to be out of the loop of collecting if the prices keep going up. I'm very dissapointed about the amounts that the retailers are charging for the new Beanies. I wonder how many other people feel the same way. I think it takes the fun out of collecting. Thank you !!!
- Every beanie should be available and should be made in quantity enough for all to be able to add to their collection to enjoy. I can't stand telling my children we can never get Princess, Peace or Erin. It breaks their hearts.
- Retailers should only charge $4.99 for all !!!
- get all orders to retailers on time no back orders send all of order out at one time tell Ty to retire three times a year and to keep the beanies coming
- get all orders to retailers on time no back orders send all of order out at one time tell Ty to retire three times a year and to keep the beanies coming
- The new bear releases are very frustrating because all my kids want them. I have 3 children and I can't afford to spend big money on each new bear for each child. I thought the initial intention of these were for childrena and Ty seems to be losing sight of that
- I think It is getting way too hard to get the new ones and the bears are coming out for way too much money. Children no longer can get close to the tables to get a beanie. Trade shows are crazy The little kids can not even get near to make a trade.. I think Ty should retire a HUGE amount at one time and bring the list back down to a small amount to aquire if you are a brand new collector. I love collecting !!!!! I think Beanies are about ready to decline in polpularity for awhile Just m
opinion.....
- I look in the hand book and it gives one price go on-line and it gives outrages prices. went on-line for even-up trades but ends up giving half my collection away. It seems that the market is way out of hand. People should get a fare price but to what expence.
- I am a bit frustrated at the number of stores that sell these beanies especially non-retireds nd brand news for 3 to 4 times the origianl $5.00 price. I am more than willing to pay up to $7.00 unless of course they are retired but I find it ridiculous that even for my niece and nephew I can't touch the brand news for under $15.00.
- I think that all prices should go down so kids can buy some of the older ones. I have most of the rare ones but I think that I'm they only kid in my school who has them. Please change.
- I would like to see that more children get beanies. My children used to save their allowance so that they could by them and now they are unable to find any for the $5 or $6 price. I think that the adults should just stay out of it and let the kids have their fun, after all wasn't that the idea at first?
- 1. Would like to see a much more realistic market price on hang tag protectors.
- I don't understand why Erin is going for $200.00 already. What is the story. Gldendash@AOL.com
- I RESENT TY AUTHORIZED DEALERS SELLING AT INFLATED PRICES AND HOLDING STOCK SO THEY CAN SELL ON SECONDARY MARKET THRU FAMILY AND FRIENDS, THIS IS PRICE GOUGING . EXAMPLE, WHERE ARE ALL THE NEW BEANIES, NOT IN STORES SELL AT REGULAR PRICES $15.00 OVERPRICED FOR ME.
- you should make a scoripan bb
- This was answered for my sis who is blind. Can't stand retailers that put their beanies in a secondary market---have one store but put them in another store at higher value!
- I getting very angry at authorized dealers selling current beanies at secondary market prices. I have seriously considered quiting collecting if this continues and have boycotted retailers that due so.
- almost every authorized dealer in my area (50-60) is selling their retired and htf at more than even on the internet...i wish their was a way to report these dealers to ty and i wish ty cared... i saw erin today at 2 stores in the mall for $200 and $299 peace was $30
- It is something new to me and I love it, I would like to see a white bufflo, and a boxer dog added to the collection. I think it is ashamed that there ae not enough of the Pince Bear or Erin for everyone. We hav a retailer in our area who has a drawing for The Prince Di bear, but you have to purchase $25.00 of what she sell in the store to be able to purchase a $1.00 raffel ticket on the bear. It is wather unfair, to those who want to purchase a ticked. I kow of a nother dealer who offered a pers
n a prince bear in exchange for another hard to get beanie. The more I am resurching it, I am finding that the Retailers, are 1. raffeling off may be 3 of the 12 bears, and selling the others to their workers, or raffeling them off and keeping a few for traid. One retailer close to my store sell the beanie babies new, for $10.00. Another will sell the retiared one when he finds them in his shipment for $14.99 each or higher. I work so I have a hard time finding Beanie Babies, because when the store op
n I am working and when they close that is the time I am getting off. So I find it real hard to get anywhere. I wish I could get a Erin or Princes Bear, to use for our American Legion Auxiliary Unit, for Scholarships, and to sponcer Girls State.
- WOW - is it true?? Between my 2 kids and I we have over 200 Beanies?! But we don't ever even have the chance of acquiring Tank, or others like Seamore & NF Brown Teddy for my kids - way too expensive now on the secondary mkt. It's hard enough to finance current Beanies for 2 kids, but now I want my own collection, too, so have acquired some of the inexpensive (?) retireds ($12-$20) for myself. Hoping someday to sell perhaps, or trade for some of the retireds we need. I don't like how Ty seems to s
nd the new releases to stores in such small quantity's - this causes the lines and hours of waiting, only to be disappointed when the people in front of us snatch them all up - some stores don't set limits, such as only a couple per person. I think Ty purposefully changes the styles or yarn, fabric, etc of a current (like Derby, Zip, Inky, etc..) so that everyone now has to run out to get the latest. What a profit they are making on this strategy!!!
- I wish adult collectors would stop hoarding the beanies so more children could be able to collect them. I would like to see some hamster, gerbil, and bird beanie.
- I would hope that people would quit paying such inflated prices for new releases such as, Erin and Brittania. They only add to the frenzy. I see people esp. kids not excited at all with new shipments of the regular ones. I even saw a father trying to persuade his daughter to get one and she was not interrested. If the adults would relax about new releases then the kids could enjoy them again.
- I think Squealer, Valentino, and Gracie will go next. Somehow Ty always seems to retire the white ones and the bears most quickly.
- We feel (since I began bringing these little guys home from my work-compelled trips to Chicago/Detroit 3 years ago) that BB's were the cutest additions to the "Daddy's travel gift" ever to come along. I still feel that way. I have problem, 3 years later, with the "glut and cut" that appears to be taking place, with, expecially, an old dependable site like Beaniemom. That's one we could use as a reference, & EVEN, recommend, something that doesn't happen often. I started bringing home bb's as an a
ternatibe to magnets & coloring books on my business trips. I didn't know that I was beginning a BB craze @ home. We all thought it was fun to find a site like beanie mom to use as a reference & news source, "til today, when I realized that my family had been dumped, so to speak, from a great communication. Apparently to be picked up by a "big Guy". NO ONE SHOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT WHAT THE SECONDARY MARKT IS DOING TO THE PRICE & AVAILIBILITY/DESIRABILTY OF BB'S-----TIL THEY'VE SEEN WHAT THE SO-CALLED A
LIES OF COLLECTORS OF BB'S LIKE BEANIEMOM HAVE JUST DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I have a real concern about mass production,,,in the summer of 1997 it seemed to me that beanies just flew off the shelves..but in Jan. stores recieved back orders and now I see beanies 3-4 weeks on the shelves,,,meaning that Ty is making TOO many beanies... if the product exeeds the demand that means that product goes down in price according,,,and the collectablity down, also!!!!
- I love beanies all of them
- dislike retailers capitalizing on retired beanie by charging a huge amout
- I don't like it when Ty only releases 12 beanies to each store(Erin & Princess). You are very lucky if you can find them at retail or if the stores even sell them. Alot of stores in my area(northern Iowa)sold them to their employes or had auctions for them. The different variations and the limited supply is a very smart marketing plan. It wll certainly keep people interested. I wish that they also wouldn't have the ones that are exclusive to a country(Maple & Britannia). My kids really like to c
llect them and it is almost impossible to find them at a reasonable price. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! Thanks for letting me share and watch out for the older woman. My 2 yr. old daughter and myself waited in line for atleast a half-an-hour in the cold to get a chance to get beanies and an older lady about knock myself and my daughter, whom I was holding, over. I never got a chance to look at them before all of the good ones were gone. Their are a couple of retailers in my area who
also hold drawings for Peace. When you purchase beanies you get to put your name in a drawing and if your name is drawn then you can purchase it for regular price, but the employees can take as many as they want. I don't believe that is very good customer friendly business and I no longer shop at those places.
- They are so much better than collecting Barbies or Cabbage Patch Dolls. Beaniemom, of whom we've been loyal followers, has apparently just sold to the highest traitor(excuse me, trader), and so, despite the "Methiks thou dost protest..."etc, beaniemom Sara Nelson is out of here having cashed in , and those of us who've followed this site long & hard for far too long, are in the dust, notwithstanding the comments to grasp onto us standys, lik,e, "the Collector site wil be up again really soon, y'll"---
eah, right. Please be advised, that while deciding to go public, or to sell to outside buyers, or even to cash in is an acceptable, if not applaudable business practice, fraud, or, pretending to continue to be sole proprietor while in fact long gone is not. We are so concerned about this precedent-setting behaviour, that additional legal recourse has been both recommended and undertaken. Have a nice day, Ms. Ne.son, anf Monumental.!!!JSH, ESQ
- I believe that the prices on the secondary market will fall fairly soon. No true collector can afford the prices, and they aren't that rare.
- Ty needs to make an effort not to create excessive demands for BBs that have limited availability. If they cannot put out a lot, then wait until stock is adequate to do so.
- You should come out with a seagull and/or a blue booby
- I am upset that some are so difficult to afford for the person just wanting cute, inexpensive gifts for children - due to the secondary market. I do not like that when a store gets in Peace, for example, he automatically is marked up for at least $35 resale. They still pay TY $2.50 for them. I also dislike the feeding frenzy that results from limited releases like Princess and Erin. Only employees and the wealthy benefit.
- Retailers should be allowed to order 12 dz. of new beanies.
- Ran into one Hallmark dealer that "rations" distribution of his shipments. I think this gives more people a chance to obtain "high-demand" Beanies. If he receives a shipment of 36 of a Beanie, he may only display 12 per day (but if he has one you don't see, he'll get it from the back of the store if you ask). Hate dealers that jack up prices on current (Princess, Peace, Strut) Beanies. Wish they would start making "endangered species" Beanies, or more bugs, birds, hamster,????
- I don't like the way that prices are so high for beanies that have never come to where I live. It's also once a month that stores around here are getting shipments of the new beanies. A lot of people are in it just for the money and are driving up the prices so that that unless you have a bunch of extra money laying around the house to buy a little stuffed animal, you can't get any of the older retired ones because you can't afford it.
- Counterfeiting, been stung for over $1500, more coverage to help people become aware before they get taken
- Wish they would QUIT shipping only 12 of the bears!!!! That's what I like and want to collect the most, they are impossible to get your hands on. The second hand dealers sure seems to get them fast enough and price them at 300 and up-----
- keep tabs on dealers. some doubling prices.....
- I hate greedy people selling the Princess and Erin for $200 to $300. How can a parent buy for their child when these people are helping to raise the prices by buying and selling at such outrageously high prices.
- Not enough places in our small town carry them
- Can never find the ones I want + they retire to soon before I can get my chance to buy them. Plus they were targeted towards kids, not older greedy, aggresive people! That is one thing that needs to stop for sure!
- Tired of Retailers selling out the back door the hard to finds for more $$$$$.
- they're cool
- When TY comes out with a new beanie, I think thy should make them more available to th mass market, not so impossible to get! It would make it more fun to actually be able to find the ones you're searching for and not have to wait a year or so till the market gets saturated, they've always got some out that are impossible to get especially in my small town, it's frustrating as heck!
- I am a first grade teacher who also collects them for my classroom. i use them as a tool for writing and reading. I have an entire BB station set up where kids write letters to their favorite BB, write about their Beanie having a job, etc. I have a seperate set for the class. We use them! I leave all the tags on because the main purpose is for the kids to read the poem. They love the BB station! I also by them as gifts for my students.
- I think more of the new beanie babies should be offered to the public when they are "born" and then retired after a certain length of time, in order to give the public a better chance to purchase them.
- My children really enjoy them.
- I dislike retailers who increase the $5.50 price 2 or 3 times that. Ty should revoke their license.
- I just hope TY keeps it up, I don't want them to show up in more stores as it would decrease their value. Secondary markets and the internet are great as they are they only way to get retireds. I can't wait to see what kind of animals TY is going to come up with next!
- Ty should find a way to control the cost to the customer, retailers really like to charge the customer and
- I think that beanies with patches ( lefty, righty, valentino, maple, peace, etc.) are becoming very popular.
- I think the secret to the ones they will retire next is the most unpopular ones and the ones that cost a lot of money to make
- I am a grandmother and started buying beanies for my grandchildren. I have had a very difficult time finding the ones they have wanted but fortunately for me and many, many dollars later, I have been able to get the ones that they wanted. I get angry when people seem to take advantage of children with the high prices they put on these toys. It really is a shame that the almighty dollar seems to take precedence. I have spent more than I probably should have for beanies, but when I see the expression
on my grandchildren's faces, it was well worth it. Don't people understand that children don't have the big bucks they are asking for the beanies? I also have a pen pal at a local school and I gave her Valentino for Valentine's Day. The letter I received back from her was well worth the money that I had paid for Valentino. Many people said that I was crazy for giving it to her. But, it makes me feel good! If people would only think of the children rather than themselves this beanie phenomenon would
e wonderful. What a tragedy to teach children what the secondary market is teaching them. Thanks for listening.
- I think they're a great hobby, cute and a lot of fun.
- I think the Beanie babies should be more available! People are often very greedy and I don't think they are setting a good example for todays youth!
- The Hallmark where I live is a very reputable and reasonable store to shop for beanies. They never sell their beanies for more even when they receive retireds; they charge the same fair price for them as the new ones. ($6.00). I so not wish to see Hallmarks lose their accounts because of some that charge more and are unfair. Most Hallmarks are owned by individuals who just buy into the franchise. So please people don't fault all stores just one or more are greedy and unfair. Think before you speak out.
Thanks
- i would like to see a basset hound beanie, a black lab beanie , a parrot beanie and a chinchilla beanie.
- I am very dissappointed that Ty company allows large chain stores like Hallmark, It store, and Animal house to inflate prices at their discression. eg. Maple 130.00, New beanies 18.99 . I dont think that this should be allowed.
- I wish that they wouldnt limit the shipping of specialty bears (Princess and Erin) People are saying the bear valentino has very recenty been retired. Is this true or false?
- love the low prices on new beanies
- I think Ty should pass a rule to all beanie sellers that there is a certain price such as Princess could only be $100 or less!
- i love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Beanie Babies are a great thing they help make new friends everyone you meet at a beanie store seems to become your friend instantly!
- I want more information about "fake" beanies so I can be a better informed buyer.
- some say princess is going to retire next, I think its going to be peace
- WOW
- I think more stores ought to get beanie babies. Everyone at my schoool loves beanie babies! They are the topic of our conversations everyday. I come to this web site everyday when I come home from school even more than I go to the official Ty web site.
- I think that they should have more Erin bears!
- i would like to trade my beanie babies
- no
- I enjoy collecting beanies and hope to sell some....if the prices fall in the future, that's ok...because I also collect for fun!
- I want all the cats, I want Flip, Zip, Pounce, and Prance. I've never seen Erin the green bear
- I dislike Ty's current shipping policies and feel this may kill the Beanie phenomenon.
- I love the cats!!!
- i hate the fact that people selll them for so much
- I think the limitation of beanie distributions by Ty (such as Princess and Erin) is terrible. It limits people who really love beanies from ownership unless they are willing to pay high prices. I have even seen Hallmark selling Erin for $300! It's especially unfair to children ,which is an absolute disgrace.
- I think TY is acting irresponsibly by not shipping PRINCESS to all retailers so Diana's Charities will benefit!
- Beanies were made for kids and now look at them. They have gone from $5-$400000!!!!!
- Ty dealers selling out the back door or for too much money.
- Beanies were made for kids and now look at them. They have gone from $5-$400000!!!!!
- I have heard that they only made a few thousand Chips and Spunkys
- i THIK THAT TY SHOULD SEND bEANIE bABIES TO MORE STORES AND ALSO, I THINK ITS OK TO RETIRE THE BEANIE BABIES , BUT ITS SILLY THE WAY PEOPLE ARE SELLING THE RETIREDS FOR SO MUCH MONEY. bEANIE BABIES ARE FOR KIDS , NOT ADULTS, SOTHERE FOR, THEY SHOULD BE MARKED AT PRICES THAT THEY CAN AFFORD, NOT WHAT PEOPLE ARE SELLING THEM FOR ,LIKE $300.00!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I don't like retailers who put up signs that say #(any number) per adult, who are the toys supposed to be for? Or retailers that enjoy making people stand in line. A major pet peeve of mine is when they say no we didn't get any___ maybe next time, when u know they have a box of them. Once I stood in line for 45 min. and when I got in i said do you have doodle? no they didn't they said. later they gave my sis 1.
- I would like to see that new Beanies are readily available to the public FIRST and not to the greedy secondary retailers who inflate the price exhorbitantly.
- Feel some retailers are raping the public. They get a shipment and it goes directly to the secondary market. This is not fair for the people that are collecting only for their children and not for an investment. Ty should really have more control over this.
- I think that Ty should make it easier to get a dealership with them. I think that they should also get in more Princess Dianna bears because they are so meaningful and I would really like to have one. I think that that was a nice way to remember Princess Dianna. I loved her so much and having her Beannie Babie will help me remember her and what she did. I hate having to wait in the line to spend $20 on raffel tickets and then I don't win!
- Me and my mom are such big collectors, we sometimes are late to school just so we can get a.some beanie babies we don't have. Is there any cure? I mean, I cannot stop..Anyone else feel the same? Thanks,
- Beanies are not a product that you can easily purchase anymore. Believe secondary market will discourage many collectors from going forth with collecting beanies. Lately been on a hunt and have to spend to much money on new beanies.
- ITS AMAZING!
- ITS AMAZING!
- I have Maple
- I just love'm!
- I have been very discouraged in the past few months, and my interest in beanies has diminished. I am now avidly collecting the Ty Attic collectibles. There is no meanness, no lines, no greedy retailers (atleast not yet) they are affordable and they are very cute. I don't know if I will continue to buy beanies. With Coral and the others that retired around that time now going for nearly $200, its just not worth it to me anymore. I think that it has gotten way out of hand and I don't find the "hunt"
any fun anymore.
- I have only been at this for a short while and already I am noticing how extremely difficult it has become to acquire a new release at a price less than $20. I hope there is a solution to this or I won't be getting many new ones in the future.
- l think the price for Princess and Erin are too much
- I think Beanies should sell for no more than they're worth, especially Erin
- I think Beanies should sell for no more than they're worth, especially Erin
- I think they should make an eel called Eddie.
- I don't like dealers buying them for $6 only to charge $20 or more. This depleats the stock for those of us who only want one for ourselves or to buy one for a gift.
- I do not like that you put some beanies on sale for so much money. These are for kids, and there are some beanies they can't get because they're too much money.
- I am a daycare provider and buy many, many beanies for my daughter and my daycare children. It's unfortunate that daycare providers cannot become ty distibutors for our children. The secondary market is out of control and these kids have to go without beanies. It's a shame.
- I think that ty should make a praying mantice, or a porcupine, or a jack russel terrior,or a parrot, or a clam, or a starfish, or a hermit crab,or an albino snake.I think that ty will next retire a bird, a rabbit, a dog, crunch, mystic, derby, doodle, and spinner.
- I don't like it that the bears and new ones are hard to find and outrageously priced. They were suppost
- I feel that the BB market is unstable, buying a high price BB could be worth less in one week or year!I like the new style that continually come out, availability is sometimes a problem. Many retailers sell the new ones for a highter value than they are worth. Is there a possibility of issuing new additions with some molifications to the old retired, like Humphry, and Flutter, etc.!!!
- Would like more outlets limiting the number of Beanies they can purchase at one time
- Beanies came in quickly and fear that they will die as quickly
- The bears are very hard to find, and when you find them they are expensive!
- I don't like it when reg, Ty retailers hold back and overcharge. It is happening more and more.
- I ABSOLUTELY love Beanies! I don't really like one specific animal 'kind or type'. I love them all, especially Princess! (I got her for 6$!!) Thanks Beanie Mom for having this site! -Melissa
- I think it is amazing people are willing to pay well over a $1000 for a certain colored material that is stuffed w/ beans and sewn, then has tags put on it and sold!
- I have spent time and effort collecting beanies for both myself and family members, but I have also sold or trades special beanies to children, such as Libearty, because it has been difficult for them to afford them. I do believe in the system of free enterprise, but when merchants choose to sell beanies on the secondary, or as I like to call it "Black market", instead of selling them in their stores as they would any other toy, I think there is something wrong with that. I don't mind paying premium
rices for retireds from other individuals, but when several of our home town merchants chose to "sell them out the back door" and I see tham at the beanie swap meets for twice to three times the value, I believe that is wrong. I have enjoyed collecting and have made a lot of wonderful friends over the internet by doing so. Thank you for allowing me to participate in your survey.
- I ABSOLUTELY love Beanies! I don't really like one specific animal 'kind or type'. I love them all, especially Princess! (I got her for 6$!!) Thanks Beanie Mom for having this site! -Melissa
- I think you should retire blackie
- Make different kinds of animals
- I think "flea market" vendors should be banned. Somehow they manage to get all the current Beanies and sell them for outrageous prices. I'd like to know how they manage to do that. If retailers are selling these people their allotment (particularly Beanies like Princess and Erin), Ty should consider removing them.
- secondary markets should be limited..kids can't afford those prices!
- I wish that beanies were what they were meant to be in the first place...childrens toys. I refuse to pay the inflated prices that even the "retailers" are charging.
- Beanie babies started as a childs toy and now the greedy adults charge so much or buy so many kids cant get them.
- retealers be fair on price
- I think it;s gotten totally oput of hand when current beanies sell for over $15. I personally don't care about the new releases but I do like the bears. I think it will bottom out this summer...I'm hoping to find some good deals on retired then. Everyone with an old retired thinks they have the golden egg...It's only worth what you can sell it for.
- I would like to know what the Princess bear is selling for on the beanie market.
- Entirely too many greedy dealers out there and too many retailers selling desirable beanies "out the back door" to these greedy people who do not appreciate them rather than putting them on the shelves for collectors to purchase at normal prices.
- Entirely too many greedy dealers out there and too many retailers selling desirable beanies "out the back door" to these greedy people who do not appreciate them rather than putting them on the shelves for collectors to purchase at normal prices.
- i find it terrible that retailers are keeping their shipments in their storerooms for their own personal gain. The remove all retireds from the shipment and then sell them personally at inflated prices. They also hold shipments back until a certain holiday or to make the "market" crazier.
- I love Beanie Babys, and notn' will change that!
- Keep'em comin'
- Ty should try to control retail pricing. Some retailers inflate prices too much.
- i love them but i wish that the secondary market wouldnt jack the pric es ski high and that the bears were so hard to find.
- I will not shop in stores that raise the prices because the items are new (i.e.- $17.99-25.00). These are stock items and the retailers are gouging the public.
- TY is apparently doing something right, in that their marketing has created a demand for Beanie Babies. If they were to flood the market with beanies then there would be no demand, because it is not only small children collecting them, but some older ones to (with an eye cast towards their investment value rather than their amusement value). If they were so easy to come by everyone would have them and they would be as $herised.
- I think all retailers should set limits on the number of beanies people are allowed to buy. It makes it hard for collectors to aquire beanies in a reasonable manner when the secondary market sellers visit our limited number of stores and buy all the beanies they can get their hands on! Beanie collecting needs to stay fun, not bcaome an all out war! :)
- I do not like the new ones being sold for more than $5.95 to start with. They should be normal prices until they retire, then the sky would be the limit and lucky the ones that got several to start with!
- My daughter and I love Beanie Babies and have enjoyed collecting them, but some of the prices people ask for them is rediculous. It has become impossible to buy them from stores around here unless you can camp out all night to get the ones you want. So I have had to get them off the internet and really look to get decent prices. While it is fun to have to look for them I feel like it has gotten out of hand. TY should make them more available. Also the difficulty with getting Princess is dissapoint
ng.
- I love beanies, and I think the beanie baby Official club will be great.
- I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM, THEY ARE SO ADORABLE!!!
- No one should be allowed to sell any BB for more then $5.. the price ty has put on them. Get rid of the secondary market and fine businesses who charge more then the $5. I think most of the Hallmark stores are selling them for what they should be sold, but I have found some who are charging more for the retired ones and we know they pay the same price for the new and retired. Ty should have a e-mail address so it would be easier to report the abuses out here. Thank you for doing this I really
appreciate being able to tell someone what I like and what I don't. I deal with just the honest dealers and I am so thankful for them. Let's get the BB baby prices back were they are suppose to be. I saw them being sold in a McDonalds for inflated prices, this was in ElPaso, Ill. Should they even be selling them Peace was $65 and others the same price, Spooky and the Rosster, I don't know if it was Doddle or Strut.
- newer beanies should be more available so secondary market cannot profit and so retailers will not charge more money/ty should not retire holiday beanies so fast as this does not allow people to purchase them and secondary market profits
- I wish Ty wouldn't make and distribute Beanies specifally for International retail ie: Britannia and Maple. It really makes it tough for zealous collectors like myself who are basically "in it" for the love of collecting. People are way too greedy and capitalize way too much on collectors like myself!
- I dislike retailers who jack up prices on newly retired Beanies which they have in stock...after all, they did not pay a higher wholesale price to get them.
- Retailers selling them at secondary market prices...
- I think that Ty should really crack down on the authorized retailers who are selling the beanies as though they were in the secondary market. In my area retailers such as Hallmark stores are selling currents such as Peace for $50.00. This is very wrong. I got into beanies because they were cute and affordable. Not any more!
- I hate retirements!
- I think they should make a black, brown, and white lop eared bunny named Snuggles
- I love collecting the BB, but I thought that retailers that deal directly with TY were supposed to sell the BB at the regular rate, 5.00-7.00 ????
- I do think retailers who are pricing the princess bears at 100.00 and up are crazy. I have been told the retailers purchase BB's for 2.50 and sell them retail for 5.99. Now, everywhere I go to look for Princess or Erin, retailers what to be greedy and say "we are selling them for 250.00". I'm sorry, but I feel these people are in it for personal gain. I like the Princess bear as much as anyone else but I'm not about to pay no more than 10.00 for it. I know a store that is selling the Princess bear
nd Erin bear for 6.99 like they are suppose to and I'm sure I will get one when they arrive at the store.
- There should be more Princess Bears and at a reasonable price. I think it's good that retailers are putting SOME KIND of limits on how many beanie babies a customer may purchase at one time - that way more collectors are able to purchase them, too.
- i hope it stays in fad untill i finish collage

- They are so cute-I always have them for my grandchildren to play with here.
- Kids like to take tags off--can they be cloth tags with poems??Kids need to PLAY with but need poems!
- I feel sorry for kids looking for $5 new beanies, unless their MOM is out looking they don't stand a chance!
- I think beanie babies are the best thing in the whole wide world
- Would like to have direct access to Ty for purchasing; prices are too high for children
- Would like to have direct access to Ty for purchasing
- This is a crazy thing, I mean I love 'um but this is cocky!!
- Like a treasure hunt. A lot of nasty people out there, but a lot of nice ones also.
- I think that beanie babies are very cute and cuddly that's why I collect them. I don't like the retailers trying to sell conterfeit beanies I agree that if evryone takes the right precautions and uses their commen sense that these people will be stuck with 50 useless comterfeit Pekings and Grunts..ect.
- I think that authorized dealers should stop selling beanies for more than$6, except for retired beanies. i also think that ty needs to send out more hard to find beanies so everyone can have one and buy one for $5-$6. Also i think that if the authorized dealers and ty does not shape up on they way they do business, i know i will drop them and beanies like a sack of flour. I am tired of searching and not getting the beanies i want because the beanies are being sold outrage prices or I can't find the b
anies, like princess , erin, and peace.

- It's not fair! Only the super beanie crazed people get all of the new ones and the bears.
- I enjoy beanie collecting, but I don't like when certain stores that stock the beanie babies decide to set different prices for different beanies. On the secondary market I don't like when they don't list their prices from the start. I don't what to ever see a discount store carry beanies and I like it when there is a shortage, that is what makes it fun. I would like to see them produce a deer or fawn beanie baby.
- none
- retailer should all have to charge the same amount. Some stores are charging a lot more then they should for a non-retired beanie.
- more stores should sell them and they sell out too fast
- This is the most refreshing buying phenomenon that has occurred in the world in a long time. I just adore my Beanie Babies. When I feel sad, I go down to my Beanie Baby room and just being there cheers me up. I reallly love the ones that are obviously so work-intensive. The ones that seem to have a little soul like Bones and Daisy just make you feel like they're looking at you. The latest batch of new ones left me a little disappointed, though. It seems as if not as much work and creativity went
into making them. Even my 11 year old (who lovingly tolerates and happily participates in my addiction) said, "Mom, I think that some of these new ones look like knock-offs." Well, as they say, "Out of the mouths of babes". Actually, if you'd like to write to me or get some experiences from a real Beanie Mom living in a small town in Georgia, you're welcome to. I'm Judy Miller at "amiller@west.ga.net". Thanks, again, for giving me and all the other children of the world something so precious, fun, acce
sible and unoffensive to collect. I'll have my Beanie Baby buddies forever!
- I LIKE, BUYING LIMITATIONS, ON ALL MAKES!
- I like it very much.
- What a rage!! Made up my mind that I wouldn't get hooked--a birthday present --Inch the Worm--changed my mind. I'm hooked and loving it!! Sharon
- I think the price should not go over $4.99 for any beanie because they would be more affordable. They are somewhat hard to find in my area and I hope some day to get a Princess Diana without paying an arm and a leg to do so!!!!
- I love how Beanies are pulling the generations together. Grandmas have something in common with grandkids. Dad's make Beanie runs on their lunch hour. We have huge lines when we get a new shipment and it is a "happening". Starbucks acorss the parking lot does record business when we have Beanie lines. It is just plain fun. I do not like how collectors believe everything they read on the internet. I do my best to remind them that the only real news comes from TY. The rumors often are to stir the
market and raise the prices.
- I don't think any Beanie Babies should be priced over $4.99 . I don't know why we shouldn't be able to buy Princess Diana Bear or Brittania, etc. for the $4.99 price. I enjoy buying them for my grandchildren (and myself!!)
- It would be cool to see a peacock BeanieBaby.
- beanie babies are the best!!!
- I do not like origanal retailers selling Princess for 50.00+
- I love Beanie babies! I'm holding Pinky right now!!
- I hope they stay in the $5 range
- Adult "brokers" driving up the prices make it very difficult to obtain beanies for the children who collect and play with them!!
- retailers should be less greedy and make the beanies more readily available instead of hoarding the newest releases for personal profit.
- wow!
- I really don't like it when beanies are only available in other countries/ Canada-England and who knows what next!! Not fair to those of us that have no way of obtaining them except thru secondary market and we all know what kind of a price that is...If anything, would be changed within Ty selling methods, that would be 1 that I would strongly recommend. Thank You...
- The entire shortage of Princess and Erin disgusts me. It is almost enough to make me sell my entire collection and bad-mouth Ty to everyone. If you're gonna make a beanie, get it out there and give everyone a chance. I understand making special edition beanies only shipped for 6 months, but to only send 12 to a city? They're not even hitting the stores. They're going straight to the secondary market at $275 (for Erin). sigh.

- you guys oughtta make a german shepard named shep, an eel named elly , a clydesdale horse named clyde,
- predictions on retirements-ziggy,snort , gobbles , spinner and dotty
- Love those Beanies-keep them coming! It is fun to collect beanies!
- Beanie collecting is fun but it's getting out of hand when greedy people push, shove and grab beanies, sometimes right out of peoples hands, when a new shipment comes in. This takes all of the fun out of it.
- I am continually amazed at the marketing genious behind this Beanie phenomenon! Just when consumers start to get slightly complacent, WHAM, more Beanies either debut or retire. The only real gripe I have is the way the Princess Beanie has been handled. I wonder about the morals of the people who were selling 10 or more Princesses in the classified for upwards of $500 a piece. These people had to be retailers, or how would they have gotten 10 Princesses? These are CHILDREN's toys for crying out lou
! I am sure that Princess Diana would have been appalled to see her name on something that caused such greediness. Her charities are only getting the $6.99 asking price, the other $493.01 went to an amoral retailer. It just doesn't seem right.
- Non-Ty Beanies are just as cute as Ty beanies.
- I hate that on the secondary market ERIN and PRINCESS are so high priced. They are like this at most retailers also. I think the retailers shouldn't be able to do this. I would love to get one of these for my collection sometime!!!
- I abhore Ty Warner's business tactics. He is a true marketing genius, but I do not like the way he runs his business. He is currently telling retailers that he is not opening accounts, and then they do go ahead and open accounts if they "like you". The entire Princess Diana scheme was disgusting, and when he was called on it, he just went ahead and created Erin. As a reporter for a small town newspaper, I did an article on "the craze" last Feb. 1997. When I spoke with Ty Warner's spokesperson, I w
s told that these are toys created for the enjoyment of children, and that there was never an intention for this frenzy to occur. Well, I beg to differ....if that were true, the "Princess Fiasco" never would have occured. They would have created billions upon billions of Princess beanies to meet the demand, and to truly be charitable which is what they were claiming to be doing. I no longer shop in any retail stores (FOR ANYTHING, NOT JSUT BEANIES...all out boycott!) that jack up prices on ANY current b
anies. I have no objection to retailers selling retired beanies for more then normal retail price, but I strongly object to the doubling, tripling or more of retail prices on new, or so called "hard to find" beanies. There would be no hard to find beanies if the retailers would stop hoarding them and jacking up the prices. It is my opinion that if a retailer is going to choose to become a secondary market dealer, then they should do so outside of their retail establishment. The general consumer should
TOP paying more then retail for CURRENT beanies and thus force the retailers to stop charging more for them.
- I think the bunny trio will be one of the next ones on the retirment list. Crunch the shark and Daisy the cow might go soon. I'd like to see a beagle, a hamster and a deer added to the list. I was very surprised with puffer, and I think she's so cute! I'm also fond of Spunky, and of course, Erin and Britannia. I rhink Princess was the greatest idea, and I was very fond of Di. Now her memory can liive on, in a way.
- Hallmark is the worse-they change their prices all the time and they wanted $100 for Princess. She is meant to be a tribute--not something for greedy peopel to snatch up and resale. They seem put out by Beanie Lovers-customers seem to be a nusiance to them.
- I'm very disterbed by the fact that it seems that, in my area, most of the sit up bears go out retailers back doors to the secondary market.
- I don't think Ty gives beanies enough time on the market before they retire them.
- I WANT REX
- I think BBs will be a long staanding trend thanks to the diversity and reasonable prices.
- How much the retailer gets the Beanie Babies for and how much they sell them for...What a difference
- I love Beanies! If all of a sudden, the Beanies were no longer wanted, I would still collect, no matter what!
- I think BBs will be a long staanding trend thanks to the diversity and reasonable prices.
- I love beanies, espically the bears!
- I dislike the high cost for unretired beanies.
- PEOPLE SELL BB'S FOR TO MUCH MONEY
- I think that Princess should only be sold for retail EVERYWHERE! Selling her for $200+ only defeats her beautiful purpose! And as far as Ty is concerned, they should be producing enough Erins and Princesses to go around instead of this 12 per month crap.
- It's getting insane. I saw Britannia selling on ebay.com for over $900.00. I feel Ty is doing treating the collectors poorly with the constant "special" bears. Erin, Princess, Peaches? If there is to be a limited edition, tell the buyers. If some of these go into mass production, there are a lot of buyers who are going to get hurt badly.
- I think that every store and everybody who sells Beanies should sell them for $5 or &6
- Erin, Britania, PrincessUnavailability to us family collectors
- You should add a Henry the Hamster and Anty the Ant.
- I think Blackie shoud retire to join Cubbie in retirement.
- Well I'm collecting BB so I can trade one for Trap.
- This has been a great survey. I love beanies and just started to collect them the week before Christmas and now have over 200. Thank you for putting up pages and links such as this so we can get all the information for our Beanies.
- Hamsters!
- I dislike retailers who charge more than regular price for new ones, which are really currents. They are not secondary markets and this is unfair for the original purpose of letting kids buy them.
- I think that the retailers who get a shipment and sell them to the kids for 5 times their value should not be allowed to sell them at all. The children don't stand a chance of getting the beanies anymore and it will become just another grownup ripoff.
- I think they will soon retire what's left of the "original 9"
- I would love to become a Ty detective and bust bad retailers. There's more than one in my area. Not long ago, I was standing in the Beanie Baby Line at Cracker Barrel. My six year old son was with me. He also has a beanie collection. He had money and was allowed to purchase whatever beanies he wanted. The people behind us were amazed. Then one lady remarked, "well they are suppose to be for children." I think people forget that these beanies were originally created for kids to purchase with t
eir allowance. Yes, my son is allowed to play with his. He loves to slide Claude the Crab on our tile floors.
- I love my retailer who allows us to sign-up for beanies. Standing in line 1 time to sign-up beats standing in line 100 times and maybe getting the beanie you want. I'm greatful to retailers who limit purchases by type and qty.
- I thank ty should come out with more snakes like Hissy
- I THINK IT IS TERRIBLE THAT STORES CAN HOLD THEM IN THE BACK ROOM AND SELL THEM FOR HIGHER PRICES AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC CAN'T GET THEM. I THINK TY SHOULD WARN THEM AND IF THEY KEEP DOING IT, SHOULD BE DROPPED AS A RETAILER!!
- It is a lot of fun putting a collection together (I have 3 that I am trying to maintain). I have found that the trading boards are a very valuable resource but should be used in conjunction with local stores.
- I think Erin will be a collecters item.
- Dont like the way retailers handling sales.
- I think that the stores TY sends beanie babies can do business however they want as long as they tell the truth to their customers. I think that TY should make a blob named "bob" and that they should make a cat with 3 legs named "trip". I also think that TY should make a bear that sits up black like velvet the panther and a trio of bears that sit up that are red, white, and blue. Those bears should each have stars on their chests and that they should all be born on the 4th of July.
- i dislike the fact that there are probably 50-70 retailers in my area and only 5-10 sell for normal price... i went to 2 retailers today (w/ty accounts ) who wre selling erin for $200 and $299 .. peace for $30ea ..even saw spooky for $75 can not believe it ..my daughter has wanted princess and what can i tell her?
- We buy for our children and collect for ourselves. My favorite part has got to be the HONEST retailers (ha!ha!) that only charge $50 for Peace, and $100 for Erin and Princess. Actually, they can charge what they want, it is the unfortunate part of impatient buyers that allow dealers and retailers to make these markups on $2.50 items. How many collectors just happen to run across 36 Princess Bears to put on EBAY- I know that could never be a dishonest retailer. This has been great fun for us, as we c
llect many other items such as Star Wars, Barbie, Hallmark, etc. and will continue to collect and purchase for our kids. They are irresistable. Thanks and happy Beanie hunting.
- I love them!
- There aren't enough Beanie stores in Canada
- I dislike how TY keeps making bbs harder and harder to get, I collect them but in no way afford the prices or the fighting over them. I would really like two Erin bears, one for me and one for my boyfriend
- retailers being greedy!!!
- I love collecting these little critters! I do resent the authorized retailers that sell the newbies for exceptionally outrageous prices! I can understand it on the secondary market, but not the authorized retailers! They should all be ashamed of theirselves! My local Hallmark retailer in Clark, NJ is selling Erin the Bear for $250.00, which is outrageous! As much as I want her, I refuse to pay it! She's new, not retired! What a shame! Something should be done about these authorized retailers, f
st!
- I work for an authorized dealer who sincerely wants to sell to the CHILDREN and MOMS and DADS who are collecting. We have had a great deal of trouble with GREEDY ADULTS whose attitude needs some serious adjusting! Please be kind to your fellow beanie baby customers and the dealers!
- I dont like the fact that some of the beanies have been limited. It just causes a rampage and all. Although, I do have the Princess bear, I feel that Princess as well as Erin should be or have been manufactured the same as all the other highly reproduced beanies.
- People need to chill out about being the FIRST to get new ones!
- I love collecting, but I wihich I could get bears at a descent price. All the retailers sell them for more than normal if they get them in.
- My daughterloves beanies, but I think that it is sad when she has to save $30 to buy $25 in store merchandise to buy a $5 toy. Although that is better than the prospect of her having to pay $30 outright to a secondary seller who went and bought up all the $5 ones with no thought of children. $5 is alot of money for a child, much less $30!
- More communications directly from Ty to collectors!
- beanies help kids to learn to read by using internet and all books pub. about beanies
- I wish Ty would crack down on retailer that have the high prices, such as Johnny Lemmes in Westland, MI, he charges our rageous prices and hogs the market, I for one will not buy from him, Thank you, a concerned Beanie Lover
- princess is way too high-it should be available to all
- I feel that retailers are getting greedy. If I had a shop and I got 12 Princess Di Bears, I doubt I would sell them at retail realizing how much people are willing to pay. I don't think the average person really has a fair chance at obtaining the "retireds or the hot BBs" because many retails are already marking them up so high, they basically cut out our opportunity of obtaining any at reasonable prices; I guess doubling their money is not good enough for them!!
- the secondary market will collapse in a panic selloff
- why is Princess NOT retired?

- What a rollercoaster ride
- why is Princess NOT retired?
- The problem with secondary market prices would be eliminated if Ty would just get it's act together. The retailers who are authorized and also deal in secondary market bb are forced to as shipments from TY are so irregular and out of an $8,000.00 order only $185.00 worth of product will be shipped leaving the dealer no other choice but to deal in secondary bb. As a dealer, I find it appalling that I am allowed to make less than $2.00/beanie and that is not counting the hours of phone calls, the extra
help hired just for bb (and believe me, it doesn't pay for the extra help) and then hear that some secondary person is selling out of the home or at fleamarkets with little or no overhead and these same ignorant customers do business with them - knowing they are unauthorized - and where did they get the bb in the first place? Are they buying from merchants who only are dealers to sell to these people? If that is the case, they are taking them from honest merchants who want a few on the shelves for their
customers to purchase. Also, as with anything that is considered a collectible and markets the collectibility through retirements, retired peices will command whatever the market says. Do you really think our basketball stars, football stars, etc., should be getting millions of dollars? What is the difference. I have yet to see the rudeness to them for making exhorbitant wages for something many would consider 'fun' everyday. It is the same rule that has been in effect since the economy existed----law
f supply and demand ---and it all goes back to TY. Point the finger where it belongs, not on the retailer who is trying to promote and sell a product for such an unconsiderate company as Ty.
- am disgusted that the princess bear has become such a big deal. I will not spend $150 plus for it. most stores just keep them for their kids instead of dealing with all the hubbub.
- I am amazed at how fast the secondary prices increase.
- I think the secondary market can be too greedy but it's up to the buyer to know what is a fair price. The research and the hunt is half the fun!
- I think that there should be set prices instead of retailers selling at their own discretion.
- I wish that ty would make a furry orange and white Cat named Augie!
- sometimes have to travel out of us to purchase bb's
- I hate people that buy beanies for $4.99-10.99 and then try to resale it later for like $100.00 I think that thoses people are greedy and should not be allowed to continue. so if you are one of thoses people I SAY THAT YOU SHOULD NOT BE IN THIS BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO PLAY FAIR AND WE DONT WANT PEOPLE THAT DONT PLAY BY THE RULES!
- delivery peop;e are acquiring beanies before they get into the stores
- The secondary market drives me insane!!! I was there collecting beanies before anyone even knew what they were, and now collectors like myself have to suffer because of all the people who are buying beanies "for profit". I also am getting fed up with the Ty company releasing "exclusive" beanies for other countries - what about the kids they were originally made for? Kids cant possibly pay the prices secondary marketers ask for these "exclusive" beanies. Overall, I feel beanie collecting has gotten
ery frustrating, but I continue to collect because I love the little guys!
- I am having a ball collecting and searching for these cute little anmials that make me smile when I look at them. I would love to be able to make some mone off them but I buy them because they are cute and I love the hunt.
- I WANT ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!!!!!!ERIN!!!!!!!ERIN!!!ERIN!!ERIN!
- Two retailers told me that TY told them to sell BB for as much as they can get!
- I would like to see retailers stay at a reasonabel price and not sell them out the bak door for more money. The retailers sell on the internet because they make more than the 6-7 amount they are suppose to charge for their beanies. Thanks
- What I am really against is the reselling of Princess for more than $10
- I feel that is immoral to sell Princess, Erin, Peace, Etc. for $50. It is really upsetting to know that the retailers only pay $2.50 for each beanie, and then they are ripping off the consumers.
- I think Beanie Babies are wonderful, but I hate to see adults hoarding them as an investment when so many children are still seeking their favorites. I think retailers should not play games...one in our area tells people he'll be putting out a new shipment on Friday, then hides them behind a counter and disperses them to whom he chooses rather than placing them for all shoppers to shop. He also charged $125 for his Princess Bears and we doubt he donated the proceeds to charity.
- They are making way too many of some beanies now (let's say sly the fox) and done of other beanies(princess) I say just sell the same amount of every beanie or don't sellit at all
- The fact that people are willing to pay big money for Beanies is proof that people are foolish.
- I think "authorized retailer" that sell current beanies for more than TY's suggested price are little better than scalpers, and that is illegal with many other items. I also hate retailers that keep supplies back for their workers and special friends to pick through first, or who reserve beanies for certain people they know and not for the general public. And TY is feeding the greed by limiting supplies of beanies such as Princess and Erin, because they are the most popular and people WILL ask for as
much as they can get if it is tolerated. Ty also runs the risk of discouraging poor collectors who know they can not possibly complete their collections and lose interest because it is no longer fun. I do not think any beanie should be sold for more than $5 until after it is retired. Anyone asking more is unethical.
- I am excited about the membership!!
- I think people shouldn't be that greedy about selling princess- $500.00? it just came out!
- unbelievable!!!
- none
- II love Beanies, however, I hate the secondary market people & the retailers that are getting greedy! Let the stores order more than 36 per month.
- I LOVE 'EM!!
- the secondry market is way to high priced
- I don't like it when the authorized dealers get in their beanies and then sell them in the guestbook at such high prices. I collect them for my child and the bears for myself and I am a working woman and I can't afford to pay the high prices and still get at least one of the beanies for my child. Thanks for the time and space to vent.
- see Erin and Princess heading for retirement shortly as well as Valentino, probably 1 or 2 more of the original 9 is bound to go soon also
- I've enjoyed every minute of it!!!!
- Stop the over pricing of beanies
- i have sent 2 letters to ty and they never answer the questions they just use the same response each time
- The people who run the Beani Baby shows and publications lack the business "smarts" needed to run a fully functional operation. Even though these people believe that what they do is for who believe in the hobby they need to relize that it is more than a hobby and relize that it is also a business.
- Well I dont feel ty should limit retailers just so many, of certain beanies like princess and erin and so forth, and retailers shouldnt up the price. They currents are still 5 t0 6 dollars around hrre and the Princesses and erins and Britanniis's should not go for any thing more, or even the new ones. Also I think Rover will retire too.
- The best deal I got on a beanie baby was putting 50 cents in a "skill crane," whoever owned had put 5 beanies in with all the junk toys. My daughter went nuts and said "HEY MOM-I BET YOU COULD GET A BEANIE BABY!" I thought, yeah right but put 50 cents in to make her happy, and about 30seconds later was the proud owner of "floppity", the 1 and only beanie in MY collection!!
- Should retire 4 times per year (once a quarter)
- I think that the following will retire next: Curly, Valentino, Mel, Pouch(safety hazard), Waddle, Scoop, Pinky, Rover, Squealer and Chocolate
- they should put erin princess maple and brittania for a lower price like $30 and under
- I think that authorized retailers should be regulated on the prices they can charge and should be checked on to see that they are not gouging their customers. One retailer her got princess in and sold them for 250.00 each with no money going to charity
- Getting Peace for $5 was my best deal ever
- I've enjoyed collecting and making friends on the internet
- I think the biggest thing that everyone should remember is that Beanie Babies are toys first. I gave my 3 year old a Dotty for Christmas and actually removed the tag and let her play with it, sleep with it, and since we are still potty training she may have wet on it. The bottom line is she loves her Dotty and she could care less that someday it could make her rich and famous. One other thought, all last year O worked ina gift shop that sold Beanies when we could get them and of course we got mobbe
. For the most part people were nice and understanding, but occasionally we had some very nasty customers. My feelings about that is this: Beanie Babies do not sustain life. If you never hold or see another one you will not die, so please folks lets get this Beanie Baby thing ing the right perspective.
- would like to see accurate productions of each beanie made. The Fox book is only a guessamit. It would be very useful for values and pricing info.
- I find it very upsetting when they make such small quanities of a particular beanie such as the princess bear. When the retailers get them odds are they will never be put on the shelves to be sold because they can get so much more for them from a private dealer. people like myself will never have the money or the opprotunity to buy these , which makes it impossible to complete my collection.

- Where does the Home Shopping Channel get theirs?
- whod've thunk it!
- beanies are fun and interesting hunting for new or special beanies and finding them at good prices is a good part of the thrill. I think bones will retire next and erin will only be a very short release and will retire very soon.
- whod've thunk it!
- Children collecting cannot afford prices on Princess
- wish they were easier to find
- I think Princess's prices should be lowered
- no
- I think that if the retailers are going to "save some" for their "friends", they should do it when the regaular customers aren't around. I enjoy the search for beanies, but often get disappointed at missing getting a certain one, by just a couple of people.
- I think that the secondary market is way too greedy. Also, why are the new Jan releases so hard to findy?
- Make a chocolate lab named Hershey
- It will never die!!
- I predict that in the later 1998 or early 1999 that all beanies with fourth generation tags will be retired.
- blank
- I really wish Ty would mass ship Princess and Erin and put an end to the secondary market purchasing these up from stores before we could get them. I also wish Ty would just have people do more research and find out which authorized dealers are selling to the secondary market and drop them. These dealers are so unfair.
- I think the beanie baby craze is a little overhyped. But it is still fun to collect.
- I love how cute they are
- Some retailers sell the common beanies for $8-$10 each, when other retailers sell them for $5. I dont think it is fair to inflate prices.
- I'm collecting for my autistic son and his sisters it is very hard to stand in line for beanies only to find out there's someone in line in front of me who is bragging that they already have several of the beanies for sale and are purchasing more to resale which makes it harder for those of us who just want one.
- My daughter is 3 years old. She does'nt understand why we can't buy the Princess bear because they are $250.and $350 a piece.
- I'm upset that Ty allows the inflated pricing on his own guestbook especially as they relate to 'currents that are hard to find' such as Princess and now Erin. I think he should only sell to retailers that have actual stores and must be required to resell the currents for the $5 price. I don't understand who the vendor's are or how they get their stock that sell at the 'Beanie Shows & Swap Meets'. I am collecting for myself and my kids and resell occasionally extras that I purchase. I only sell for
my purchase price plus shipping and a little extra for gas for currents and have had to pay thru the nose for retireds. Its

- I dislike the stores getting only 12 bears, like princess and erin and then charging ourrageous prices for these, non of which goes to charities.
- Dislike the unavailability of "special" beanies, like Princess and Erin.
- I really enjoy looking for Beanie Babies!
- its hard for working people with long hours to find beanies
- People should remember they are for kids to play with and Ty should remember to. Ty is just as bad by putting limits on the Erin bear and Princess bears along with a few other.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!
- I don't like that they resell them for so much money
- I dislike the way the retailers tell everyone they have a shipment but will not put it out for several days. I believe they should be priced and put out immediately so the "favorites" will not have advanced notice.
- I wish that authorized dealers would get a larger quantity of new and retired beanies. When a new shipment comes in it is almost a fight.
- I think what the retailers are doing with the new beanie babies is wrong. They charge anywhere from $15 to $50 for recent issues or make you buy 2 older beanies in order to get 1 new one. Also, the problem with Princess is ridiculous. The stores hold them back and sell them for a fortune. Most people, especially children, cannot afford these outrageous prices.
- I really like to collect BB but I do not like all the greedy people & the "scavengers". I am really mad about all the deceitful retailers that play "favorites" and don't allow the general public to get them. If you are a nobody you might as well forget it!!
- I think beanies are for children not for adults.
- I got BB's 4 sale
- I love Beanie Babies. I buy them with my own money. The grown ups are driving up the prices (my Mom says). I keep an inventory list of my Beanines on my computer. My Dad is now sending them to me from California where he lives. He can find them easier than we can in Texas.

- They need to update
- I dislike a Ty authorized dealer buying from Ty, and then selling a Erin for $300.
- the unknown makes it interesting
- I think that Ty will do another mouse/hamster and another dinosaur set.
- I think the people out here who are Harrasing area retailers and calling them liars need to back off! There are alot of decent retailers who charge only $5 for beanies. These are the same people being targetid. This fad is way out of control, and so are the people who are addicted!
- Retired Benaie Babies are just waaaaaaaay tooooooo expensive when you DO find them!
- I just dont like those greedy people out there. Not only with selling but with buying. I work at a retail store that occasionally has BB's and when we finally got peace in one customer grabbed seventeen of them. Because we had no limit on beanies at that time we couldn't stop her, since then we have a limit of one per design but as many designs as a person wants.
- I LOVE 'EM
- I think that the people on the 2ndary market are selling way to high and Jhonny Lemas of Westland,Mi featured in Mary Beths Beanie World are crazy
- cost for beanies are getting out of line where the common person can't afford the retire ones.
- First, I think the secondary market keeps the Beanie phenomenon alive - those who complain about it are just whiners; the law of supply and demand applies here and if you don't like the prices, go elsewhere. Everyone here will tell you that a Beanie you might pay $100 to obtain can be had somewhere else for $6 if you keep your eyes open - so what we have are lazy people whining because some collector got there before them. If you're REALLY buying this stuff for your children, they don't care whether
t's a legitimate Ty beanie or a knock-off - there are plenty of beanie copies around for much cheaper so I don't buy the argument that kids are being hurt because they can't get Princess for $5. Second, it's obvious that TY is playing this business very well - they shouldn't make too much, nor should they make too little - most people will be able to get what they want if they're patient. That's the way it should be. As far as the secondary markets - well I find more unethical behavior in the authorized
TY dealers - especially those stores that require you to purchase $X of "other" merchandise before they'll sell you a Beanie - that's much worse than some secondary marketer selling for $10-$20 - at least they worked; they went out chasing down Beanies to resell - but the dealers who pay $2.50 and then attach requirements to purchase - those are the ones people should be angry at.
Most of the complaining I think is exaggerated - IF you want to be the first one on your block with ERIN, then you're going to have to pay or work to find one; that doesn't mean you won't eventually see them out there for $6.
- I dislike how people are willing to buy and sell Princess for such a high price.

- I think their fun to collect but the retailers are gettin just terrible about selling Ptincess and Erin , some are keeping their shipments to see what's going to happen to the market this I know because that' what 1 of the retailers told me herself. It makes you want to stop collecting.
- I'm so frustrated with not being able to get Beanies without HUGE investments in time and money that I'm ready to quit. These are for my daughter and it hurts me when other kids with an inside edge with a retailer get Beanies and brag and she can't get them. It's not for the kids any more and it's getting to be not fun!
- beanie collectors in our store are FAR too greedy! leave some for the children!
- I think the initial idea of making a toy that children could easily obtain was great. I used beanies all last summer to incourage my children to read. For every 100 pages they got to pick a beanie from my stash. This worked as a great incentive. I think that the secondary market has gotten out of hand. I think that retailers know that they have control, and are using it to take advantage of the buyer. Children can no longer walk into a store and purchase one with their allowance, because most kids don`
get that kind of money each week (at least mine don`t). I think Ty should investigate retailer practices more carefully.
