- I think that retailers that sell to the secindary market should have there accounts canceled !!!
- I really think that it is disgraceful that authorized retailers (QUITE A FEW HALLMAKR STORES ) are selling newly retireds for $20.00 each and the Princess Bear for $280.00 at an average.
- Ty's handling of Princess!!!!!Bummer!!!
- the second hand market is making way too much money out of people who are collecting for fun.
- I don't enjoy going into a store where all the new ones and ones that are hard to find (not retired) are held behind the counter and sold for at least 5 times the going rate. I'm also extremely upset with a local Hallmark card store that has had many Princess bears in their possession and have not donated any money to her fund. Instead, they call up customers who are willing to pay high prices and then sell to them. They were getting and still are over $600. each. When I mentioned if any of the mo
ey was going into a fund they LAUGHED. They said that they could do and sell the beanies for any amount they wished. I truly believe that people in they Ty company should do spot checks on certain stores - especially in the Bergen County area of NJ., Maybe if some stores were told that they could not sell these beanie babies, they would clean up their act.
- Ty is an amazing marketing master! These are the best collectible to come along since, well, since ever!
- none
- I did end up writing a lengthy complaint letter to Mr. Warner on behalf of my two young daughters. It is extremely disapointing to have to literaly fight greedy secondary market dealers in order to get one of these for the kids. We paid 200.00 for Princess to add to our collection only because she is so special to us, and remains in a glass case, on a bed of roses wearing a tiara I made myself, holding a glass balloon which says "I love you". My kids want their own to play with, to play with? What a jo
e! Now they want Erin too. If Ty can only ship 12-36 each month, they have no business shipping at all until they have more stock. It's rediculous. Ty did answer my letter, but the response almost made me more ill than the situation itself.
- the Hallmark stores are getting greedy, charging 8-10 dollars, I thought they were regulated. Guess not. I mwas told they could charge what they wanted.
- I wish they would make a poodle. I think Cholate and Bones will be 2 of the next retirements. I think they should do retirements every 4 months.
- I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHEN A HALLMARK OWNER CAN SELL A BEANIE BABY FOR 200 PLUS TO CUSTOMERS.THEY ONLY COST $2.33 TO PURCHASE FROM TY.
- Here's hoping BB continue a long time!!!
- I DON'T APPRECIATE BEANIE RETAILERS WHO LIE AND ABUSE THEIR "BB POWER"--THANK GOD THAT THERE ARE STILL SOME HONEST PEOPLE OUT THERE...OTHERWISE IT WOULD MAKE COLLECTING UNBEARABLE!
- I can't believe what some of these beanie's are going for and on top of that people are actully paying those High Prices. If people STOP PAYING those prices maybe just maybe prices would go down and my kids could buy them with their own money from their allowance instead of me shelling out the money . Those $300.00 beanie's are only worth that if someone is willing to pay that and I AM NOT!!!!!!
- I will never pay over $50 on the secondary market. I buy them for my kids and friends that collect and I think that dealers on the secondary market are greedy. I have a wait and see attitude and have been able to get every beanie I have wanted at a decent or retail price. Just my thoughts on the matter.
- I want to be a Ty distributor but they're not allowing any more. I find that unfair.
- TY claimed Princess would be available to everyone. In most cases, she is only available to those who are RICH.
- I believe upping the prices so high on a toy that is intended for children is wrong.
- retailers are asking you to buy $20 from their store in order to buy one beanie! AND another store is demanding that you purchase $5.00 from their store for every one beanie! rip off!
- hope TY doesn't over produce, people like the hunt!
- Princess bears has become a symbol of GREED.
- I believe upping the prices so high on a toy that is intended for children is wrong.
- I have never had so much fun in my life!
- I would like to see TY send a better variety everywhere - For Example: instead of the West Coast getting Flip, the East Coast getting Nip and the Midwest getting Snip WE ALL would get some of each.
- I am Very disappointed to see Erin listed for sale on the net at such high prices and to date, I have not seen even one in any of the TY retailer related stores. It was the same with princess for whoom I paid an excess of 300 for only to see her price drasticly reduced and see how overwelming in amount she can now be located. I enjoyed the days when I could walk into a store and buy the "new" releases as they came into the stores but now it seem to me that they are being held and sold through the back
oor as many retailers say..."I am expecting Erin any day now". I personally know two women who get their beanies from a UPS driver who delivers TY products. I will not participate in such dishonesty and onle wish it were easier for us "regular Folks" to acquire these Prized Pets.
- I am the #1 Beanie Original Babie fan I have all the Teenie Beanie Babies plus I sell Beanie Babie Accessories, Also I have my own web page
- I hate the fact that secondary market has new beanies before the stores do
- The irritated attitudes sported by retailers when one calls or drops by to inquire about shipments of beanies is really amusing. Would they be happier if no one was stopping in? These retailers are making a tidy little profit on all the $2 beanies that fly out their doors at $6 a pop! I've stopped shopping at the stores with the more "pissy" proprietors--I won't buy beanies or anything else at these stores. And don't even get me started on the retailers that sell common beanies for $5.99; new beani
s for $7.99; and hard-to-get (i.e. Peace/Princess/retired) beanies for $30-$300. THAT is some profit for a $2 toy!! I heard Ty was going to send undercover people into stores to look for this and yank licenses...that's probably way too delicious to be true?
- I think there has GOT to be a CAP on what stores (primary) can charge, and if the stores do overcharge they should have their accounts pulled after all they are making 100 % profit already!! I think Ty has to bump about 15 currents and introduce new ones on a limited (12 per order etc.) which will drive prices back up, but there are stores stock-piled with currents and no one is buying them. Retirements: Gobbles, Valentino or Maple, Patti, Chocolate, Pinchers, and Squealer.
- more colored bears
- I think the link between small stuffed animals and economics is hysterically funny! I think sometimes it's hard choice whether to play with them or keep them as investments.
- you can't find them
- Well i didn't start collecting untill early 1997 but i knew about them since 1993 and have always wanted Kewi but i guess i can't get him now
- I think that they should all be $5 again!!!
- I love retired beanies and hope more come out and more retire
- The secondary market is artificially making demand for beanies. It takes my local retailer over a week to get rid of all of their beanies.
- no
- I dislike the fact that some stores charge over $12 for beanies and I have to tell me children that I just can't afford to buy them at that price
- I like being able to find the beanies I want. I dislike not being able to get the beanie babies I want.
- I don't like not finding the new ones until after the next set come out!
- I think that Hallmark should know when Beanies come in. If they don't, then they will really lose money.
- i think they're cool.
- I feel it is unfair to limit the much wanted Erin and Princess bears... I think they should all be equally available!
- BEANIE BABIES RULE!
- don't like the retailers setting their prices too high.
- I think that some parents just go too far in their collecting habits. Their behavior is often rude and borders on the savage at times. Collecting should be fun, not mercenary.
- I really dislike the fact that I can go into a retail shop and see 36 Erins for an outrageous price of 200.00 and 12 Princess for 300.00. They say they are on consignment, but whos to say they didn't pull them out of their shipments and hike up the price. Very, very frustating. I have considered to quit collectting for this reason. It is hard to explain to my six year old boy that I can't get him Princess even though he sees 12 right in front of him. :-(
- Beanie Babies are very cute. The only problem I have is Ty, Inc. should have more control over retailers. Other than that "KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK TY". Also I think they need to make a Shih Tzu beanie baby==Maybe black and white. Just a thought.
- It seems as though the Ty retailers are getting tired of the beanie business. Several stores in my area only want to order a select few and have even taken their beanies of the shelves from time to time for their convience . Collecting used to be fun but now it seems to be discouraging. Of six retailers in my community none have sold Erin
- i think they should retire PEACE because it would make its price rise because of the limited amount shipped to stores>>
- It would be more fun, if there was a good chance of being able to buy the more unusual Beanies, i.e. Princess, Erin, at retail price (or close to it). It would also be nice if the numbers shipped to each retailer of these special Beanies was increased. Sending12 to each store is not enough! I also get a bit peeved that some of our local retailers, while benefitting from the TY Beanie phenomenon, are grumpy and unpleasant when asked about whether or not new Beanies are expected soon in their store, etc.
I have a problem too with the retailers who sell ALL the special Beanies out the back door... not one gets to the floor. This particular retailer sold all his Princesses for $250. and more ...none of the proceeds were to benefit any charity. Others of our local retailers are great...they take "lists" and help us Beanie-hungry beasts find the Beanies we need. In our town unfortunately, 2 of our best and fairest retailers have gotten account cancellation letters from TY. I enjoy the Beaniemom site. It's a g
eat source of information and is fun! Thanks!
- I think Ty retailers should be required to sell beanies at $7.00 or less and stop being greedy when they pay less than $2 for each beanie regardless of what the secondary market prices are. I can't find the new beanies because of low supply and/or greedy retailers. This isn't fair to the children trying to collect beanies.
- I dislike stores marking up the favorites so high that an average buyer cannot afford to add to their collection.
- I love the cuteness of beanie babies, they are adorable! I dislike the Hallmarkstores in the north east who charge outrageous prices for current beanies.... it is sad that most people can't afford them.
- I wish Ty would go to mail order direct, so the people scalping them would be cut out!!!
- The secondary mark ups on Princess and Erin are out of control. There is no way I can purchase either of these from a dealer for myself or my 6 year old daughter. And try finding one in the stores at regular price - there is no way!! It's sad that a toy made for children is no longer attainable by (or for) children. There has to be a stop to these outrages prices.
- I think TY should make these bbs (they can change the names but I`d like them to keep the same creatures) The dino trio: Teri the teradactal,Tops the trisaratops, and Claw the Raptor. Also the lab trio:Sunshine the yellow lab,Pant the cholate lab,and Midnight the black lab. Please suggest those bbs to TY if you can.Thank you for your time! ;)
- Adults should let kids collect them, instead of purchasing whole shipments at a time..After all, kids are who Ty Warner created them for.
- It is disheartening when the beanies go out the back door or the retail stores to second hand dealers. I have witnessed this and if I know what store they are from I would not shop there any more!!!
- Ithink Ty is an OUTSTANDING company I Love Them
- Some retailers who are so very rude when you inquire about beanies.
- Don't retire Princess in 1998 or 1999
- keep 'em coming!!
- There needs to be a ferret beanie. Ferrets are the coolest animals around, and Ty hasn't made any yet.
- i am amazed at how people in the stores act with the beanies....
- I think the the Beanie Baby Phenomenon is awesome. Their website is also great. Tell the beanie baby phenomenon that I think Valentino is a sure bet for retirement because he is already hard to find and he wouldn't be info beanie for nothing.
- I wish the stores would put more of a limit to how many you can buy, by the time I get to the store they are usually sold out, so I end up paying more. I also think that if Ty would let their stores know when they are coming in it would make it easier on the stores. I have seen many store owners complain at how Ty is handling orders.
- I do not like how high the price is for Princess beanie baby!
- mark my words: Carolina Panthers will do well this year b/c we have a defensive line and that will directly effect the value of "Velvet" the panther.
- I wish there weren't so many greedy, unethical people when it comes to Beanies.
- well there is gonna be a 2nd tbb set and peace will probably be 1 of them
- I think people who's life is searching for beanie babies need to grow up. i've heard of women fighting over beanies in the middle of stores, and that;s utterly ridiculous. They were intended for mostly kids, but some people are taking this fad way too seriously.
- I think people who's life is searching for beanie babies need to grow up. i've heard of women fighting over beanies in the middle of stores, and that;s utterly ridiculous. They were intended for mostly kids, but some people are taking this fad way too seriously.

- 50 state bears with the states flag on them and cute little names
- I love Beanie Babies
- Erin shouldn't be as hard to get as Princess.
- I dislike authorized retailers who act as if selling Beanie Babies is a major inconvenience!
- I am very upset that Princess is so hard to get. The dealers in Northern Michigan are not able to get this bear. A certain retailer that received them sent them downstate to get more money for them.
- Make a chocolate lab-Hershey 4-15-98
- I think beanies are the best
- would like to see german sheppard beanie
- I really love these beanies. I am the mother of 3 very small girls. My 4 year old really gets into them, too. It's very depressing when you can't afford to add one (i.e. -Erin, Britannia, Princess) to your collection! I think this is a very fun and interesting hobby.
- I think the 3 bunnies are a good investment. I also like Daisy the cow.
- I wish I could buy any of them for $5.00
- I dislike retailers holding back sought after Beanies, and charging ridiculous prices, or not putting them out at all .
- I wish beanies were only for the children still and not so desireable for the greedy and childless! The legitimate Ty retailers should take prepaid orders(with # limits perhaps) from the public - especially from children with allowance money! This would make acquisition fair and less frenetic for all.n still and so desireable for the greedy and childless!
- Beanies Rock the World!@!@
- I wish beanies were only for the children still and so desireable for the greedy and childless!
- I don't like the retailers that raise the price of hard to find beanies so that no one can afford to buy them. Princess & Erin are good examples, the local stores are selling them for $200 and up....
- I only collect the cats in the group
- Sadly enough, I think that the beanie babie "trend" is dieing out.
- I don't like how people are getting $5 beanies and selling them for 100+ !
- Some retailers ask way too much for beanie babies.
- I believe, as a collecter that tries to be up to date, that Bones and Doby have been out for way too long. I understand that since they have been available for so long many people probably already have them. But, either way, Ty has come out with many new dogs. So it wouldn't hurt to retire Bones and Doby. Do you agree?
- Would like to see a beanie goat.
- I fell that it is hard for people like my self to have a chance to get the BB's like the princess bear, and Erin. Every retailer I talk to says they don't sell them to the public, the either give them to their employees for family. There for what chance do I have to get one? And is this fair, because I have no connection or tie in to a sellected store. I don't mind buying fair market value for them. My son who has a medical condition wants certain ones that you can't get. I truely don't find this
at all fair.
- I feel beanie babies are for EVERYONE!!! They are not just for little girls, but for boys and adults! There is a beanie baby for every individual!
- I think Ty should make more of each Beanie Baby.
- I don't like how the new ones are more expensive than the soon to be retired ones.
- I think the thing that aggravates me most is the whole problem with getting a "princess" bear. Between the retailers and the beanie fanatics, no REAL collectors are going to be able to get their hands on one. It's sad because it's supposed to be based on "Princess Di", one of the most unselfish people in our modern history. How ironic and sad!
- I dislike seeing new bears-Princess-Erin way up high on shelves w/ $400 pricetags teasing little children who cannot afford them.
- i wish retireds were just a tiny bit less expensive
- I really hate the fact that retailers and secondary places are getting away with charging hundreds of dollars for new beanies. retailers are charging over $200. 00 for Princess or Erin. You can't do anything about secondary's, but retailers should have to stick with the normal price of a beanie. At our local airport, a gift shop was selling Princess for $800.00, and this was just the price, it was not going to any charrity. In anybody's book, that should be wrong !!
- If I have to pay extra for a beanie, I'd rather give the money to one of my favorite retailers than a greedy secondary dealer!
- I would like quicker update information on so-called rumors that tend to run rampid.
- I started buying Beanie Babies as gifts for nieces and nephews then found myself becoming attached to them. It really irritates me that some retailers (especially Hallmark stores) are getting one or two dollars more than some others for each baby and conveniently hike the price of those that are hard to get at any given time.....even those not yet retired. I think there should be some controls by Ty that these stores cannot ask whatever they want , even for retireds, if they paid they regular price.
Just my opinion but I have seen too many children get upset when they at last find one they have been wanting then can't pay $20-$30 for what should be a $6 item.
- Beanies will never go out of stile.
- I live in Great Britain and am embarassed on the conduct of some of the Americans living here and the ones calling. They are using emotional blackmail, bribery etc. to get these Beanies. If TY would just mass produce them and let everyone enjoy them it would make life a lot easier. I have to smile when I think of the guy who got ripped off for $1200.00. He was over the top on trying to aquire all of the retired beanies. I do like them and if I resell them I DO NOT make a profit. I do it because I
like people and want them to enjoy themselves. If they make a profit, well, that is not my problem.
- I love beanies.
- I think the dealers that sell way over the suggested price should be stopped. I hate that so many new styles at some dealers have a higher price than the regular styles. It is VERY unfair to children who like to buy their own Beanies with allowance money. I wish Ty would take away their rights to sell.
- Ty designed Beanie Babies to be affordable for children. The adults are getting greedy and ruining it for the kids!
- This secondary market person at the mall has Erin at 399 dollars and Erin has only been out for a week.
- Grandmothers are trying to collect for grandchildren. The secondary market has gotten out of control. These toys were meant for children's enjoyment. Ty should at least be producing and shipping more current ones in order to quell the secondary market which is now sellimg current beanies for outrageous prices. Stopretiring beanies for awhile. This will also help dry up the secondary market.
- I am not happy with the way some retailers are handleing the sales for retired BB's. They are only puting out so many a day which means if your not first in the beanie line you don't get one and they jack the price up. I think standing in line for 4 hours is a bit much and the discontent of the customers is not good. I expect to someday read the headlines in a newspaper Beanie collector shot while standing in line for store to open.
- I wish i could get Princess and Erin at a regular price. I feel the Scalpers should be stopped. and would like to see TY or your page keep an up to date list of the BB's, I found it hard to collect them for myself and kids, when TY did'nt update there list of Retireds and new ones, till way past the New Year !. Thank You, Hallie
- I've had fun collecting the BB's. Most of the people I've met have been wonderful, but some people go to far.
- I like Beanies that sit up rather than lay down and are different than the flat ones
- That Ty reatilers are charging$5-30. Should be $5
- TY needs to make more Beanies based on pets (i.e.-ferrets,birds,gerbils,hampsters,fish,etc...)
- Wish less people were dishonest. It's suppose to be fun!
- Wish less people were dishonest. It's suppose to be fun!
- wish new ones were easier to find. Like Princess and Erin. Hate having to stand in line at 6:00 am for new beanies. Lines are always so long for Beanies.
- I dislike that some area merchants get BB's before others and therefore, they set their prices higher. Also, by merchants receiving a very limited supply of BB's, those of us with children have a difficult time purchasing two of the same beanie because the merchant limits the customers purchase. I also feel the time frame between new releases is too long.
- I think beanies are great for children
- I'm very lucky to have aquired three Erins, and need to find out how much they are going for in the secondary market.
- This is more fun than I've had in years!
- Although, I'm going to sell mine, they are addicting
- I am sorry that ty allows the Princess Di to be sold on the secondary market on their web site.
- I have had more fun, and meet more nice people collecting beanies. I think they bring out the best in people.
- Ty needs to stop this haphazard distribution stuff and shipp the things out as ordered, it makes the retailers look bad and increases the secondary markets ability to gouge us.
- I am looking for Erin, not because she is the latest craze,
- I dislike how retailers handle distribution of beanies.
- I HATE IT WHEN DEALERS KNOW HOW MUCH A BEANIE BABIE IS WORTH AND RIP OFF LITTLE CHILDEREN WHO DON'T!!!!!!!!
- This becomes an addiction - something like a sickness. The retail stores cause the headaches they receieve they play games with beanies - only putting certain ones out - lying about list. Ty has got to get shipments to the stores in a timely manner.
- I think that TY
- tired of seeing hundreds of beanies at stores for $15-20 for currents, and hundreds for Erin and Princess. I see that Beanie Babies are not going to be as popular in the future.
- People wait in line 5 or 6 hours tobuy beanies is ridiclous. These are mostly for kids and they are being shut out !!! Also people "HOLD" places for their "friends and family" I feel that if you are not in line, you do not get to "cut"in !
- I think this is all great I gave one to my nephews and who knows, maybe that'll be their ticket to college in 15 years!
- I think that retailer should be fair about he pricing
- I want an English Springer Spaniel dog named Sadie.
- I dislike it when a store I regularly spend a great deal of money at expects me to stand in line for hours with collectors only. I refuse to do it and have called retailers and reminded them that I shop with them regularly. I dislike the way Ty has distributed Princess and Erin. Most retailers are charging $200+ to get on a list. Beanies are cute in the 5-10 dollar range but the secondary market is rediculous. It seems like many of the retailers are jumping on the bandwagon. It's too bad the chi
dren can't get them for a normal price.
- I really resent dealers and secondary market people selling Princess at ourtrageous prices considering profits should be turned over to charity. I could pay a higher price, but refuse to contribute to the scam. Rude retailers are also difficult to understand considering what they must be making on each shipment they receive. If I do not feel that I am dealt with fairly, I don't buy Beanies or any other merchandise from them. There are some dealers who should have to sit on a huge inventory of Bea
ies.
- i have had so much fun doing this it is addicting. i think retailers getting them for 2.50 should not sell them for secondary prices
- I like the colorful ones.
- I like the search...just want to finally find!
- if things keep going up, the beanie market will crash hard.
- I really wish people would not try and make so much money reselling the BB. They're so fun to collect, and it's not fair when some of us can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars for beanies that we really want!
- produce an O'riley Opossum
- I got a iggy with Rainbows swing and Princess tush.
- I'm getting fed up with these price gouging, black marketing retailers, to the point of stopping collecting beanies.
- My biggest gripe is with those authorized TY dealers who are raping the public. One such dealer in my area (Commack NY) takes HTF's (not retired) and puts them on a shelf and charges $15! He kept all the Princess Bears he got to sell on the internet. The "little guy" doesn't have a chance. Or dealers hide new shipments under the counter and only sell to those people they know. "They ought to make it a crime!" TY DEALERS should NOT BE ALLOWED TO TREAT PEOPLE THIS WAY!
- PEACE AND ERIN ARE MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- dislike adults going crazy about indulging their kids
- I dislike the way some retailers jack up the prices to make money. This should be fun. So the prices should stay resonable to the public thru the retialers. Thanks!
- I can't believe the prices people will pay for retired Beanies.
- Hopefully dealers will continue to sell at $5-$6. This keeps the kids involved and the demand up. Dealers need to find ways to not let the secondary market dealers buy up all the stock.
- Only collecting for about 3 months but these little critters are extremely ADDICTIVE!!! Maybe they should be posted with a surgeon general warning!! (haha)
- Retailers gouging prices for whatever is the newest one out!
- My biggest complaint is the fact that retailers are saving all the Princess of Wales or Erin bears for themselves or family or they are putting them in a drawing for an enormous amount of money. I think they are making quite a profit because people will buy them.
- I think the secondary market is practicing unethical means when it comes to the Princess and I will not be part of it!! This should be about CHARITY not personal profit!
- I would love to have all of the Bears, I have been collecting Bears all of my life. and now I am collecting beanie babies I love them all, but the bears will always be first on my list!!! I will be so happy to own Princess, Maple,Garcia,Erin,Peach?, and any of the new ones comming out!!!!! I think Valentino will be next to retire with the three bunnies. I dislike the secondary market!!!!! they try to make 100% profit!!!! ITS SICKING!!!!!!
- I live in a city, and certain customers seemed to get called that the new stock is in, and then it is gone!! Then retailers limit one of a kind, so it is difficult to pick up gifts. I am having lots of fun, but am not as excited since Princess and Erin are going for such high prices. I think that is very sad for the sweet children that these toys were intdended for in the first place. Some of my friends are totally giving up on the collecting because of the difficulty if finding certain beanies, an
the attitude (not positive) of the retailers!!
- I started out getting a few but like so many other fell in love with them all. My pet peeve is adults who "hog" the hard to finds and keep children from getting them. My philosopy is these are first of all kids toys and I make sure the kids I know who collect them get the new ones first and then I feel ok about collecting them.
- I Believe that TY should allow some other forms of distribution on a small scale basis just to keep the fad alive long term. Hobby store ie: BB card stores etc. are selling beanies all second hand these people are all independants that could use a little help from a megalith like TY these independants are helping to fuel the secondary market that has caused beanies to get to where they are today- these secondary retailers must have a legitimate way to source some beanis at a reasonable mark up - most d
rects are reselling the " new pieces for way to much to keep these stores competive- Call me if you would like any other feedback- I am the Executive Vice President of Baseball Card Warehouse Inc. one of the largest sportcard and supply distributors in the nation. Thank you, Rick Namm 94-978-7027 Fax 954-978-1488
- Prdiction is Ty Warner will sell out to a larger company with better distribution and manufacturing capabilities. Beanies will be more readily available, the secondary market will colapse, and beanies will be worth less, except those that have been retired and are not re-produced.
- no
- It would be nice if my 2 sons could go into a store and purchase a $5.00 beanie babie in stock and especially after they wait for hours in line to spend their money they have saved not to be told they have to be 18 to buy a beanie baby. I also want to know how the retail stores that buy from Ty can sell their beanies for $5.00 to $100.00 to the patrons.
- I wish the beanie babies being released could be purchased for a reasonable price, most notably Erin, Princess, and Peace. It makes it very difficult for those of us who want to own just one of them. I love each beanie baby. I understand that the retired cost more but the currently produced ones should be more accessible to everyone.
- I love thye cute little things but I don't like this greedy secondary market or retailers that make it impossible for the average income person tofind and puchase a Beanie Baby. I can not afford show prices. I wish that retailers would think about their regular customers that can only afford $5 to $10 for a BB. The bears are beautiful, but who can afford $400 for each new bear? I wish someone would help us average income people!
- I hope that Benies stay around for a long time!!!
- It's truly a shame a toy that was meant for children to enjoy has attracted the attention of the greedy of the world and put them out of sight for the comman man only wanting them for children to enjoy. I hope these people end up having to eat them rather than make a profit on them. I purchase them ,and only one of a kind for my Granddaughter.
- Too hard to find. Making me greedy. Don't give them to the grandkids anymore, because the ones I give away are the ones that retire and I can't get the anymore at a reasonable price. Can't make myself pay more than $7 a piece..
- I can't find Princess in any of our local stores.
- How many of each beanie are made?
- I hate the fact that some people sell the Princess bear for such outrageous prices, kids can't get a hold of one
- All the bears seem to be the best investments with their resale prices always going the highest. I wish that would be a little more across the board for all the different types of Beanies. I wish they would make a Shih-Tzu Beanie as that is our family's breed of dog. I would say that Squealer or Chocolate would be good candidates for retirement.
- I think the crap with the Princess Bear was terrible. Ty wanted it to go crazy on the secondary market. Sending twelve of ANYTHING to a store is RIDICULOUS!!! I did get a 1997 Princess, but I traded a beanie that I had paid $5 for. That was all I was interested in paying for it.
- I am able to find most any of the beanies I want if am am willing to pay the price. I did splurge on Princess for $100, and I guess if I want Erin anytime soom I will have to do the same thing. I hate to see the 2ndary marketers getting rich, but if the store owners keep selling to them, they will soon be millionaires. tls
- i do not like the fact that certain gift shops ask 100.00 to 200.00 for new ones.
- I think the secondary market is way too high. TY Inc. shouldn't hold back Princess bear or ERIN bear. Nobody should have to pay more than $6.00 for a beanie.
- I'm disgusted with Ty and greedy retailers. I'm thinking of getting rid of my collection because there's no more fun in collecting. I'm out-priced, since I only need Erin and can't find her at a retail store for under $200, for which I refuse to pay. I can understand a secondary market dealer charging those prices, but not a retailer. The thrill is gone!
- I don't like dealers selling current for high prices on their own predictions of retirement.
- I would like to be able to purchase Princess for less than $200.00.
- Since most retailers are selling Princess, Erin, Peace out their back doors to the secondary market the "normal collector cannot obtain them unless they want to pay a couple hundred dollars or more. There has to be some way that this can be stopped. If not stopped you will be losing a lot of Beanie buyers because it is no longer real
- I am not crazy about the trend of the new bears ie. Princess, Erin, Britania. These are almost impossible to find for someone like me who is a thorough "finder" of beanies. I can only imagine how hard it is for the "occassional" buyer.
- I buy for pleasure and children, I give as gifts to children, I want to always remember these are childrens toys frist. Never let me step in front of a child for a Beanie out of greed.
- I wish I could get new releases at decent prices dor example princess and erin. newer collectors should be able to stay up to date on new releases without paying an arm and a leg.
- I personally love collecting beanies and hope to continue to add to my collection. I do however get upset that so many retailers are in it just for the money and will hike the prices up astronomically, sometimes making it impossible to complete a collection.
- I just think that Beanies are a cute and wonderful mania gone out of control by greedy second market merchants.
- golden retriever beanie
- Take good care of your Beanies!
- I think Erin will be run 1x per year 98-00
- I dislike how it has turned into a inexpensive childs' hobby into a very greedy and costly one by opportunistic selfish adults that are only thinking of how much they can sell that $5.00 toy for $50.00.
- I am not a dealer, I collect with my daughters and I think it is unfair that Ty has released only 14 Erins per store and the prices make it impossible for kids to pay for them
- I first started collecting Beanies just because I thought they were cute and would make cute gifts for my two sons (ages 3 & 6). But a Great Aunt from Northern IL told me that they were the latest & hottest collectible in Nov. 96. Thus began my craze. Living in So. IL. very few people knew the craze so early. That is how I was able to acquire so many. I still love it, but I hate it when I see a retailer raising his price. I feel that before too long the market will be come saturated possibly slo
ing the craze. I have seen it here. Beanies now sit on shelves for several days not hours. I personally also think they are cute and adorable.
- I LOVE beanie babies
- I wish I could get new releases at decent prices dor example princess and erin. newer collectors should be able to stay up to date on new releases without paying an arm and a leg.
- I hope that this doesn't get out of hand so that we can't enjoy collecting because they are getting too expensive too quickly. I'd also like to see a labrador retriever Tbb - black, chocolate and yellow. These would be VERY popular choices I believe. i am a NEW AVID collector and look forward to many, many new additions to my family.
- I think that a tighter leash should be put on those dealers who received a Priencess beanie. I have seenat them seltheling for $300 and that's not the way it is supposed to be.
- I dislike 'flea market' dealers selling 'Princess' for $1,000.
- I think that a tighter leash should be put on those dealers who received a Priencess beanie. I have seenat them seltheling for $300 and that's not the way it is supposed to be.
- BB have turned me against many stores in my area. One, in particular, Browns Wallpaper in Wakefield, MA....Pat Brown said it takes her 24 hours to put the Beanies out as she has top sort thru them. She applies the "going rate" on each Beanie. She pays one price from Ty and turns around and rooks the public. As a result of this I have stopped purchasing anything in her store. The Ty Rep goes in there...he's aware that she hikes the prices.....it turns you against the store and Beanies.
- i got wrinkle's as a gift for christmas and the i got hooked
- I'd like to see more ty-dyed animals.
-
- Its fun, but frustrating too. I started collecting before the May 97 retireds, and never got a Radar for my daughter. I still hope I can someday, but at a REASONABLE price!
- I love collecting them but most of the stores are way to greedy. I mean come on $200.00 for Erin, $400.00 for Princess (not even with the first tush tag.) The new ones shouldn't cost any more than any other in a shipment. I wish every one would put limits on them so there would ne no secondary market. I still want them but I'm not allow to pay more than the regular price my mom says cause she feels I am getting ripped off. I agree but it is frustratring because I feel I might not find them again
In summer it is easier to collect them because there is no school when the delieveries come in. I love my beanies!!!! Can't Ty controll the stores more? I guess that is my main complaint but at the same time they don't seem to care.
- Retirees: seaweed, chocolate and inch. Dislike ty dictating where beanies can be sold like brit only in europe. limiting retailers to 12 of htf new ones. creates the demand by limiting supply.
- It's a lot of fun to collecting, meeting
- My only dislike about beanie babies are that i have never seen a store that only carried beanie babies
- Some people are ruining the "fun" by being so greedy. A lot of the retailers are now charging $15 and up for the new releases.
- I don't like it when stores charge more for retired and "rare" Beanies. I do like it when stores put limits like " 2 per style per family" so more people can get Beanies.
- I love it! I've had so much fun finding them, calling my Mom and sisters about them, reading magazines. The adrenaline is terrific. And they are sooo cute! I love them all.
- I would like an Erin bear but hate the stress.
- Hope they remain as popular at least - this is fun!!!!!!!! Just did a fund-raiser for my kids' school - had a B.B. fair - raised over $5,000.00 for the school!
- I'm crazy over retailers sending BB's out the back door!!!
- when a special beanie comes out , too many times there is a shortage and they become very difficult to find!
- I hope that the Beanie Craze last !
- sooner or later the beanie fad will die off : (
- Beanies Rock!!!!!!!!
- I think blackie and blizzard will retire next. Beanies are really cute and I don't like how some people are just wanting so much money for them, because I can't get them for that much! I also hate it when people steal them!
- I dislike the retailers that raise the price just because a Beanie has become popular or is hard to get.
- the thing that is the most irritating is that you can't find the new beanies (ie, erin and princess) in the stores for the regular retail, but most of them are on the internet for several hundred dollars. It takes the fun out of beanie collecting. Also, w
- I wish that retailers could sell more BB
- I think alot of the greedy dealers are ruining it for the little ones who used to have fun trying to get the new beanies.
- I'm almost positive that Ty will retire at least 2 dogs in the next retirement because there are only 2 retired dogs and around 12 current ones.
- People are getting out of hand with there prices.
- I DISLIKE THE WAY SOME STORES SELL
- People are getting out of hand with there prices.
- would like to see cost come down for low income school age childlren to afford.
- I miss the days when you could find beanies everywhere!
- Have to run around to far to get them!
- I like the low prices on the most common beanies. I dislike it that we can't order beanies direct through Ty. They should have a mail order ctatlog for the beanies and charge 5 dollars for them. They retire some beanies too fast. Finally, the beanie baby Princess Bear shouldn't cost 350 hundred dollars in a store. It should just be 6 or 10 dollars the most. Thank-you.
- I wish Ty would only ship out new ones when there is enough for everyone to go around to keep retailers from price gouging ie: Princess and Erin!
- I dislike the fact that Ty knows the demand on the newest and only makes so many.
- I think that the beanie craze will keep on going for a few years before it begins to die--beanie babies are not cheap toys and have proven themselves on the consumer judging panel. I think that Ty is beginning to make more bears so they can retire some of the older ones---hmm, we'll see!
- I don't like that retailers let customers call to reserve the new shipments. I've also learned that they don't place any restrictions on how many a customer may buy. Makes it real discouraging for a recreational buyer for my little kids to get excited about looking for something that's usually snatched up befor I can get there. I'm not into stalking the ups guys or calling a zillion stores for shipment info. I just want to be able to go into the store and find the new cutie bb that's out. I foolishly t
ought I could walk into this one store today and find Princess. I had no idea what was entailed...I said forget it. thanks...Kris
- I have heard that 3 of the McDonald's in my area will be selling cases of Beanie Babies for $50 to people in the secondary market, which I find offensive.
- I think beanie babies are great! I wish people wouldn't sell them for more than $7.00
- I think that ALL dealers who are caught selling on the seconday market instead of in their stores should be PERMANENTLY dropped from Ty's list of retailers. I think women who TRY TO or DO buy up every beanie of a particular kind at a store, so that the average person can't get one for their collection, is greedy beyond belief and should be boo'd and hiss'd by every other buyer in line to buy. I sincerely wish Ty would flood the market with past and present beanies (particularly the Princess) to bring
the secondary market crashing to it's knees where it belongs. My wish for the secondary hoarders is that their collections suddenly become worthless and they are forced into bankruptcy for being such greed-mongers. Get a life, people. These are TOYS....not the next VanGogh! In a few years, they will have no value at all, except as a cute toy...which is as it should be. Harsh? Maybe so, but ugly-acting women have made it so for everyone.
- Ty will ruin his following withholding Bears like erin and princess. It hurts that with all my dedication to collecting beanies I now can't get these because of the prices on them. why cant he make as many of those as he does of the ugly ones like crunch?
- anyone should be able to get princess at a good price because she is not retired yet. Please help me get one. thank you
- I hope and predict that retailers will start selling Princess and Erin at the regular ($6) not super inflated prices.
- I enjoy the hobby but it has become way out of control. Too many shops sell newly released beanies at very inflated prices making pieces like princess impossible to be able to afford. This has made my interest in beanies drop. I limited myself only to the ones I really like and even that is difficult, time consuming and expensive. If Ty really wanted to donate $ for the Princess fund then they would have made more availabe for people to purchase. The store owners are the ones that made out like
bandits selling at great $$$, not TY or the Princess fund. Granted, some stores auctioned their Princess bears for local charities, but , I feel Ty should have made more for the masses if they truly wanted to donate. I would have bought one, but not from the stores at $200+++ I hope thing will settle down. Maybe it will take a new trend to relieve some of the stress off of the market and make things fun again.
- Brittania&Maple&Erin&Princess are too limited. The average collector should be able to buy any Beanie that is not retired. Only making a limited number and having Beanie's not available in the US drives up the price to outrageous and frustrates many collectors into selling out and stopping purchases. If you work, you can't stand in line; and secondary market collectors are making it so only the rich can purchase some of the Beanie's named. I don not mind buying off thesecondary market; but $500.00 to i
finity is not in my budget.
- retailers are pricing way too high
- I disliked the fact that no Turkeys on Turkey day were to be found in Illinois or no Snowballs or Christmas Teddy was to be found at Christmas very annoying for little children.
- I VERY MUCH THE CONSTANT LIES FROM RETAILERS
- I'd really like to see TY drop authorized dealers who sell on the secondary market. I don't mind the fact that regular people sell them on the secondary. But, a TY dealer should only be able to sell retail. Too many are selling Princess at a HUGE profit and Princess just isn't getting to the regular people like she should.
- I like the secondary market in ways, but yes this was made for kids not for adults, and those adults have become more and more greesy with these toys that these adults are out of control and NEED to be STOPED !
- Wish that they would retire more!!
- I am very upset with the retailers in my area!!! I am so upset that I am considering selling my entire collection and NEVER buying another TY product--ever!!! The suggested retail price is $4.99. The TY RETAILERS sell them for $8.50--up to $250!! That's outrageous!! The retailers are selling beanies at secondary market prices. We the consumer are being cheated by their price gouging and greed. Please help this to stop!!!! Thank you for your time!

But, a TY dealer should only be able to sell retail. Too many are selling Princess at a HUGE profit and Princess just isn't getting to the regular people like she should.
- Wish ty would except more authorized retailers so that us who can't get erin or princess can not only get it but can share the opportunity to other kids and collectors! Also i would like to see a simlar sting ray like sting, but a little different. i would love to have him in my collection! I would like to see a bear called the "in memory" or the "in memory of" since alot of people give them as gifts for what ever reasons, i would have liked to have recieved a special bear when my grandfather passed a
ay. he enjoyed looking at them with me when i had gotten new ones. that would have cheered me up!
- I love the Beanie Babies. I wish that I had started collecting them earlier. I hope to add many more to my collection. I dislike that some of them cost thousands of dollars. I like the different animals. Each has their own cute thing about them. I think that Chocolate the Moose will be retiring soon. He's 5 years old. I also think that Valentino and the Peace Bear will retire soon.
- I'm not sure the craze will last much longer...people are tired of being ripped off in the secondary market.
- What I don't like is that ty limits the amount of beanies to stores that just makes it harder for simple people like me to get the ones I want instead I have to pay outreagous amounts because the second handers get them first. Tehy are not my life but they are very cute
- i don't like the fact that ty seems to ship so few beanies at a time. for instance, the new erin bear, since it has been announced, why can't they ship ALOT to each store so everyone will have an opportunity to purchase it. i refuse to stalk a store and call constantly. i was speaking to the very nice ladies in a local hallmark store and the stories they told me were outrageous. she said the same people will call them 3-4 times EACH DAY and must drop everything and fly over if a shipment has arrive
. we have been trying to purchase peace the bear for quite some time now and but always seemed to just miss it. luckily, my relative found it in north carolina for us. i think princess is a lost cause - i will never pay $299 (which is what a toy store is asking for it here in ft. lauderdale) and, like i said before, i refuse to stalk a store for it.
- I have three children to purchase for and some of the prices are so high I can't even purchase one. I think dissapionting the children is extremely frustrating. Some stores have their own clubs and will sell the newest, most popular ones to club members.
- It is harder and harder to find the new beanies as they should be fair traded in authorized retail stores. If folks are willing to pay a higher price on the secondary market that's fair. The authorized dealer has a steady inventory and a steady income making 100% return on investment. A retail store is not a flea market.
- I have EVERY beanie baby....except for Britannia and Erin, and of course, the employee bears.......I am so surprised at how much my collection is worth -- My first beanie babies were Nana and Quacker (without Wings..) Who'd have thought theyd be worth so much now!!!! If I l only knew back then what I know now.....
- Authorized dealers that are selling "out the back door" should have their accounts cancelled by TY.
- I love collecting beanie babies, but I wish the shipments were more regular. The dealers get too frustrated, and I don't blame them!
- I love Beanie Babies!!!!! Have a BEANIE DAY!
- Prices are getting unreal-especially Princess and Erin
- Beanies are the greatest thing ever!
- the princess bear will cause great distress for those hunting her in the near future!
- My daughter has her heart set on Princess & Erin, but I will not pay $100-$350! for a stuffed toy. I would spend up to $10, but even that annoys me!
- The mark up in the secondary market as well as the obsession with collecting will wane sharply this year.
- I wish retailers would sell at suggested retail prices. I can afford to pay more but last Saturday a local retailer after holding back the new releases, Princess & Erin made a big deal about having them available.
- I'm very dissapointed with many authorized dealers. There are several here where I live that sell current beanies for well over their intended cost. Keep in mind these are not second hand stores. I also buy from them but expect to pay more for retired beanies I can't find anywhere else. And a quick other note, Ty should retire at least 80% of thier current beanies because everyone has them already.
- There are stores that I have been to that sale the beanie babies for up to $20. I think that is ridiculous. I think Ty should try to keep the retailers in control.
- I just started the retired Plush..I love it!
- I think that retailers are awful when the give store employees first option on the beanie babies the have in stock. I also think it is sad when you see older people in line before children that have saved their money especially for beanies and they can't get the one they want because of lines and adults that follow the shippers around from mall to mall.
- I think that it is crazy how regular retailers mark the price up when they don't pay that for them from TY. For example a store in my area sold Princess for $75 and they purchase them from TY, but the Hallmark right around the corner sells Princess for 5.95 just like all the rest. Thats how it should be. Then if people don't get lucky enough to buy them from a place like Hallmark then they have to go to the secondary market which I hate to do.
- I think the secondary market is wrong. Sooner or later the interest in BB's will die and those markets will be out of buyers.
- I love Beanie Baby Collecting
- I am frustrated and dismayed about the availability of Erin and Princess. I see people online who have up to 11 Princess bears with prices which are way too unaffordable. Ditto for Erin. My question is this: how do some people manage to have so many of these hard to find Beanies, and I can't find just one at the normal issue price? I feel something fishy is going on, and I feel someone should investigate this.
- I do not like that Ty has limited "Princess". It has only helped the secondary market and hurt the average collector.
- I feel people need to remenber that this is primarily for kids. These unauthorized BB sellers on the roadsides and in shopping centers are so greedy and should not be allowed to sell them without being penalized. Overall, I feel strongly that the BB phenomen is great, exciting and fun!
- I Wish Ty would flood the market so they get back to being kids toys instead of collections
- It makes me happy when I find a store like Judys halmark in Ill where you can buy any of the b.b. for $5.oo the only problem is i live 45 min form there so i wish more stores would have theirs for the same price so all or most kids can afford them. My kids love them !!!
- I used to enjoy hunting for beanie babies, now it is bothersome. All of the retailers are keeping them and selling them on the internet and in the newspaper etc, making it impossible to get the ones that are the hardest to find. It doesn't even matter that you spend tons of money in a store and are a loyal customer, when they see the price that it gets on the secondary market, it is too tempting for them not to participate. I think that if Erin is going to be limited then I will be done collecting b
anie babies - it just isn't worth being upset all the time!!
- Beanie Babie are great and so much fun! People get upset with the secondary market, however, the secondary market keeps the Beanies "alive" and drives sales. People get upset with the prices, stating Beanies are only for kids. If it weren't for the adults, the Beanies would not be a "phenomenon". Ty is a marketing genius!! I love when new Beanies and retirements are announced.
- I hate that Beanie collecting isn't just for kids anymore. It's sad to go into a store that used to sell them for $5 and now they want $49.95 for Stretch the Ostrich. Try explaining to a 4 year old why she can't have the $50 Beanie Baby to play with. If I were "Mr. Bulky store", I would be ashamed!!! How can retailers get away with this? Ty should stop selling to these people and make it easy for them to be reported.
- I like that I can buy cute toys for 5 or 6 dollars. I like that other people drive up the values so that my quest to never pay more than retail is more fun.
- I would like to see more bears.
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I suspect that if the rumor is true and Disney buys out the Ty Co., the original Ty beanie babies will become very valuable. Disney hasn't done a good job on their beanie creations, and I fear they would hex the Ty products from the time they may acquire the company going forward.
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I dislike going to beanie shows and seeing the new releases such as Erin's by the bag full being sold for up to $300.00. I can't help but think there are unethical Ty dealer's out there.
- mad about prin.di being over priced there should be way more available so the fund can make more money not the stores
- I prefer to deal with stores that limit each customer to one of a style, that way I stand a chance of getting one. Also stores that keep the prices the same $5-7 each no matter what the Beanie is. I will never pay an inflated price for a current Beanie, so am still waiting for Princess and Erin. I do buy retireds at secondary prices if necessary to get one.
- Retailers should not be aloud to hype up their price when the get any beanies. Retired or not.
- I think there should be an alien or teddy bear trio that would replace Hippity, Hoppity, and Floppity!
- i think that these are great toys . my daughter and i enjoy getting beanie babies and talking about them . we say keep them coming.
- I really dislike the greedy people who rush to the stores as soon as they find out there are new beanies. Then they proceed to grab all the new beanies. I dislike the fact that as of March 1 I have been able to find only one of the new beanies. I don't like the fact that Ty is only releasing limited numbers of Princess and Erin. I do like the new beanies, and I like the new Club idea. I would like to see more of the "Special" beanies available in the stores. I would also like to see more "adul
s" acting like adults and not beings greedy and taking beanies from the kids. After all, beanies were meant as a toy for kids, not as a money making product for greedy people.
- I just love beanies, and I've met the nicest people during many of my "Beanie Hunts!"
- dislike the scalpers
- Ty should release more of the bears, so that retailers don't become so greedy. That way, more people can enjoy each beanie!
- i liked it better when i shopped and there was not so much greed. it was fun shopping for my grandchildren when i started more than a year ago. not very many people buy them for fun , they buy them for investments , and put them away for selling later. but i will continue to buy because i love seeing my grandchildrens faces when i give them new ones. they really care what the poems say too.my grandson loves doby because he will protect him at night. every night he lines them on his bed,(HE HAS 30 SO FA
)BEFORE HE GOES TO SLEEP.HE HAD A BRAIN TUMOR SURGERY ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO AND REALLY LOVES CURLY AND VALENTION.MY GRANDAUGHTER ALSO LOVES THEM. HE IS 7 AND SHE IS 8. I HAVE ALSO BEGAN COLLECTING FOR MY NEW GRANDCHILD EXPECTED IN JUNE. OF COURSE I HAVE SOME FOR MYSELF,THEY ARE SO CUTE.y
- I wish that stores with Ty accounts would make the new and specialty ones like Princess available to the kids instead of selling them out the back door to dealers at high prices.
- I wish the "limited edition" beanies wouldn't be so "limited"...it's very hard for a kid who just loves collecting them to know he can't have a beanie because there's "only 12 per store"!!! I don't mind a bit of a hunt, but hate the impossible....
- prices will continue to go up and so will greed in the secondary market
- dislike: not enough available at one time of the new ones and retailers that charge way about the market price...Hallmark has been very good about pricing.
- princess should be retired and never redone
- With all the counterfeits out there I am very wary of purchasing over the net or from independents ( secondary ). I am constantly trying to educate myself on how to spot counterfiets. Thanks for the web site, by the way!
- i love the hobby it is a great way for my daughter and i to spend time hunting and playing games with them however i feel ty needs to set tighter controlls on the retailers it is very hard to tell a child they cant have princess or erin because they cost too much when they are using their money to buy other beanies please mr warner remember who this toy was intended for and the good moral ideals they stand for
- Beanie's should be affordable to all, not just for the people who have fat check books. Kids save up for these Beanies and how can they ever afford Princess and Erin at these outrageous prices. Wake up retailer's and secondary market people, do you really need the BIG $'s that much? If you do maybe you should be in another line of business and quit taking the fun out of collecting these $5.00 items. I boycot stores who jack up there prices because they do not deserve my money. Thanks to all of the
great stores that keep the prices down, you really know how to make your customer's happy.
- Mail order direct from Ty, Inc.
- It would be nice if TY was more consistant in shipping their orders to retailers and shipping what the retailers actually order off of their order sheets for that month instead of having to wait and hope the get at least "one" of the "rare and hard to finds".
- I like the fact that the beanies are affordable but the flack that we receive from some retailers is a bit much. You don't know how frustrating it is to look & look for a particular beanie and find that its been sold out the back door to dealers therefore skyrocketing the price of the "current" Example..Erin You can"t find her in the stores but check the auctions. She's a plenty there; there's no way I'm about to spend 250---300 on a current. This out the back door stuff needs to be stopped. It really t
kes the fun out of collecting.
- I think it's insane when currant beanies like Princess and Erin sell for over $100.00. They are $5.00 beanies like all the other currant beanies. Who is creating this type of situation, Ty or the retailers?
- I AM SICK OF SEING RETAILERS AND SECONDARY MARKETS JACK UP THE PRICE SO MUCH THAT IT IS NO LONGER AFFORDABLE TO COLLECT THESE FOR MY NIECE SHE IS ONLY 1 1/2 AND SOME PEOPLE ARE CHARGING SO MUCH I RATHER NOT BUY THEM THE ERIN BEAR WAS BEING SOLD AT $395 WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT. BUT OTHER THAN THAT I AM IN LOVE WITH THE CUTE FACES THAT EACH ONE HAS!!! IT WOULD ALSO BE NICE IF SOME OF THE BEANIES LIKE PRINCESS WAS ABLE TO BE OFFERED TO EVERYONE INSTEAD OF THE FEW THAT WILL SPEND THE BIG BUCKS....
- My daughter and I have a Peace Bear that didn't get his face finished. He appears to have an old face but really it isn't stitched at the eyes like the new faced bears.
- Some people are so UNFAIR
- I am very discouraged with BB collecting at this time because of all of the retailers that charge higher prices for HTF's and new BB. Retailers should charge the same price for all BB, not arbitrarily set prices according to the demand for a certain Beanie. These retailers are making money hand over fist with this product anyway, I don't feel they should take advantage of the consumer this way. If this trend continues, I will stop collecting BB, as I refuse to support merchants with such unethical p
actices.
- I DON'T THINK THE RETAILERS SHOULD BE ABLE TO SELL ALL THE BEARS (LIKE ERIN) . i RECENTLY WENT TO A SWAP MEET WHERE ONE PERSON HAD 12 ERIN'S THAT WERE GIVEN TO HER BY THE OWNER OF A STORE. CONSEQUENTLY THEIR WERE 12 OF US THAT PROBABLY NEVER GET ONE NOW.
- the lack of stores carrying them and the shipping procedures
- Hard to locate newer BB (Erin) and would like to see authorized book by Ty summarizing each BB thus far....also asking for suggestions for new BB and names....ie Jazz the Cat!
- I would very much like to complete my set, but I am unable to find Peace, Princess, or Erin for a reasonable price. I cannot afford to spend hundreds of dollars on these bears. I have waited 2 hours on line at Noodle Kidoodle to buy a Peace bear to have t
- I think it is terrible that retailers are getting some beanies such as Princess and selling her for over $200.00, I don't think that was why Ty Warner started this.
- I enjoy Beanies, they are a fun and exciting hobby.
- I think that the fascination will eventually burn out. I have tried to get my kids to sell theirs now and take the profit for a family vacation but they won't do it!! As cute as they are the thrill of the hunt is pretty much over for me.
- It makes me sick to see retailers sell 'several' Erin or Princess. When we all know good and weel they are retailers who never even let the girls see a store shelf. $200.00 for something they paid $2.50 for! These are the people who ruin it for the rest of us.
- Since TY is introducing Beanies teddies with country themes, what about occupational teddies? THE CRAZE IS DEFINITELY ADDICTING!!!!!
- I dislike that they have made it next to impossible to puchase some of them for under a $200.00 + price tag--- My 8 yr. old purchases alot of her own with money she earns or recieves as gifts--- I don't see a chance of her getting her much wanted Erin--- due to Ty and retailers etc. greediness
- As a worker at McDonald's I wish we didn't sell them!!!
- please make more teddy's so small people like myself can have one
- I LOVE BEANIES SO MUCH THAT I DECIDED TO HAVE A SHOW IN A SMALL TOWN IN VERMONT, IT WILL BE SOOOOOOOO FUN!
- My kids are quite disenchanted with the adult craziness--it makes it virtually impossible for them to buy a Beanie on their own anymore. They started collecting early enough that they have most of the older (although not oldest) ones and simply can't find the new ones as they come out. They've gone from being a very common birthday gift for friends to something that doesn't make sense to get unless you happen to come across a new one the day before a birthday party. Uh huh. The inflated prices are
eally appalling and send a horrible message about priorities--does someone really need to buy yet another "retired" Beanie or could perhaps that $100 be put to better use? We're about ready to let the kids sell their collections (which include Garcia, Tabasco, Libearty, Righty, etc.) and put it in their college funds!
- Hate the way some people use there kids to get beanis for them selfs.
- I think this is wonderful!! I have met so many nice people thru Beanie Babies of all ages and sex. It brings everyone together. I have ony had two bad experiences of being scammed for money and Beanie Babies, totally $600. I think it's a shame that no matter what area you try to have fun in, someone has to try and spoil it. Just be careful out there and be very through in your reference checking. Thank you Ty Warner!!
- Hopefully the secondary market has stabilized/
- I wish that retailers would get them more often, and get more PRINCESS and ERIN!!!
- Hopefully the secondary market has stabilized/
- I have ben disabled since March of last year and Beanie Babies have kept my mind off of my pain.I have also been involved with making Easter baskets for a home for abused and abandoned children. This has been very rewarding to me and the children find much Love from the Beanie Babies. It shouldn't hurt to be a child and the love and affection they get from the Beanie Babies is sometimes all the love they get at all.I wish all the chidren in the world could have their own beanie baby collection.
- Not being able to find them in reputable stores or for a reasonable price anymore really frustrates me!
- I do believe that the beanies are getting cuter, and more desireable. I don"t understand how the new beanies start selling at$400. I have done a lot of trading for the ones I want, but I'm only able to do this because I had some lucky hunches. My husband and I both collect, and if we couldn"t afford to get them. I feel bad for children who really want them to play with, and they can't buy them. So much for an affordable childs item.
- The secondary market is both a blessing and a curse. I dislike seeing top beanies going "out the back door" of shops, preventing ordinary collectors and children from getting a favorite beanie. Clearly, however some tolerance must be given as without the
- I love your site.
- Dislike retailers that mark the price up
- Beanie Baby collecting is contagious. Once you start or are exposed to the little "Creatures", you fall head over heels and have to start collecting them. Even my 27 year old boyfriend is nuts over them!
- I THINK I'M CRAZY. ONE THING I DO HAVE TO SAY THOUGH, I HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH FUN COLLECTING SOMETHING BEFORE. I WON'T BE HAPPY UNTIL I HAVE EVERY BEANIE BABY TY HAS EVER MADE!
- I think they should make a deer beanie baby
- make more solid color bears!!!
- Beanie Babies are sooo cute!
- They're affordable and cute.
- i hate that i have to pay 250 for Erin!
- pouch will be discontinued
- What I don't like is when people buy the special beanies all up (ex. Peace bear, and Princess) and then sell them for 10 times as much. It really makes me mad!
- Retail stores are hiding new beanies and sell them secretly. I don't know how to get in touch to complain to Ty.
- COQUI the fro
- IT IS RIDICULOUS TO MAKE A bb AND NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH TO ALLOW EACH DEALER NO LESS THAN 36 EACH TIME. IF NOT ENOUGHT AVAILBLE, NOT UNTIL ENOUGH ARE AVAILABLE!
- What started out as an affordable hobby for kids to use babysitting money on ... has gotten entirely out of control by secondary people out to make a buck and retire themselves!
- I think that the stores that sell beanies for more than 4.99-5.99 are crazy.
- yes to all those questions above
- Beanie mobs should be controled and orderly
- my friends and I are tried of the greedy retailers, Holding the BB hostage for large amount of money. If others are as tried are we are about the pricing they will stop buying and collecting .WE ARE NOT BUYING THE NEW RELEASES BECAUSE OF THE GREED OF THE STORE OWNERS.
- Beanie mobs should be controled and orderly
- I think Beanies will stay "in" for a long time!!
- we like the collectibles best and hope they start selling more
- Not tied into a t.v. show, hooray!!!
- dislike retailers who sell active beanies for extreme prices
- Should not take so long in shipping to the store after introduced.
- Curly and Blizzard are in the next group of retirements.
- It's not as much fun as it used to be. I don't like the way stores avoid the truth and sometimes even lie. Princess and Erin are causing too much of a craze, and are making some of the retailers too greedy.
- I did place an order with a London internet company for 10 Princesses @ $25.00 each and 10 Britannia's at $50.00 each plus shipping on 08Jan98. I believe this was Koolcollactables.com Although they advertised that they were in the business for the past 10 years, and would fulfill orders, they just announced that they was enraged with so much rude mail, demands for product that they did not receive, threats etc., that they just destroyed all of their orders and will reconsider selling these again withi
a period of 6 months. Some People are just to nuts about these items, are too impatient and want to make as much money as they can. These people are to me real slime balls. Anyways, back last March and early April 1997, I placed over a 2 week period orders for about 102 Maples form Hallmarkboutiques.com in Thetford, Quebec. I received only 8 of these and was told only in the middle of Jan 98 that they would only ship these even though I had confirmed orders and was willing to wait "forever". Sellers
ho take orders for Ty's merchandise should commit to their orders and Ty Co should fill orders given by their retailers. Retailers, especially on the internet should have a strict limit of 1 or 2 per style Beanie per customer, SS number or whatever, so that they don't leave the customers with the impression that they will indeed receive merchandise, when either a few monhts later or even a year later they retract there offers. Unfortunately Ty appears to be the biggest Lagger to the effect that they cann
t keep up with supply...so those $2.50 wholesale prices, supposedly going for $5.00 or $6.00, are rearley seen by the customer. They also retire too many before those folks who want them are even able to get their hands on them. Finally I consider TY Company to be a not so friendly, gready, stalking and preying party to all of this madness
- bucky
- Their popularity seems to be dwindling or Ty is doing a better job of meeting demands; they're not quite as hard to find.
- I think that there should be another US bear!!
- Too hard to find new ones for $6, especially ones like Peace, Princess and new releases.
- The one thing that I can't stand is when TY retaliers like J M Brian, sell there currnets for over 8.00! They sell the new ones for like 25.00 and HTF's for 30.00 and currents for 15.00.
- Patti, Princess, Spinner will all retire soon!
- I don't like the way TY only sends out a limited number of Beanies to dealers once a new one is release, such as Erin, Stretch, Spunky, (&other new ones) The Princess Diana Bear caused total chaos & pushed people to show their GREEDY sides. I don't think Princess Di would have been pleased with such commercialism. I understand the proceeds were contributed to charities..but come on....$250-$500????? Why not distribute tons of them & sell at a fixed price of $20 each. I'd love to have one myself, n
t at that price.
- I like the fact that the secondary market exist but i HATE the fact that some beanies are so expensive. Likek PRINCESS. This beanie was made to honor a great woman, NOT to make 100's of $ off of!
- I think Batty the Bat should retire next because bats are like Halloween. Also, I had this idea that you could make a GUINEA PIG beanie. I just thought that would be so cute with the name of Sugar. Ok, so it is named after my pig, but so what. I think a guinea pig would be cute!
- I don't like the idea that only children should be able to buy them. I buy them for my daughter and a few I buy because I just like them. Their are adults who buy them not for profit but because they are cute (ex. my mother). Most resellers are so crazed they just send kids in to buy Beanies, if they aren't allowed. People just need to accept the craze and stop imposing rules on how to buy them. Although dealers and stores need to be controoled more to prevent the frusstrating prices and back door
dealings.
- n not seem to get the same answer to a question
- ui l0ve freckels
- I don't like how hard it is to get Princess. SHe is supposed to go to a fund, hello!- do the math, the more you sell, the more that go to the needy. Instead, everyone(attn.2ndary market)is getting way to greedy. Mr. Warner is just doing this for security fuel to the fire, that way BB's won't slow down and he stays rich. I got a Princess, but I gave to my grandma who I knew would really love it, I just hope someday I can get another Princess for 5.99 like I did! I don't like how impossible it is to
et other Beanies like Erin and Peace. I feel like a pawn in the Beanie Babie game of chess. Yet they keep on making cute Bb's so I buy them. Also at times the prices are so outrageous they are sickening. The most my dad has paid is seventy, my mom spent thirty as for me 15 dollars is my max. Anything more and I get spenders guilt. I love Beanies Babies;Erin, Peace, Weenie, Stretch, and the new Derby are my top five faves. But, they should be more accesisible.
- I think beanie babies are great but I do not like how retailers are doing anything they can to make it harded for the customer. I am not impressed with how some adults are acting either. These are toys that are meant for kids then adults. If I am in line and there is a kid behind me and only one of that beanie left, that kid can have it, but not another adult. I am very unhappy with how many of the retailers handle the sale of beanies in my area, Northern Virginia. I wish something could be done.
- I think the prices on most of the retired beanie babies can't get any higher? At some point, who is going to pay $5,000 (or whatever) if you bought it for say $3,500. We're not all millionaires. I would think most of the beanie baby "collectors" are mothers with children and if you happened to have started this collection back in early 95, then I suppose you've made a wise investment. But if most people are like me they will just buy a few currents now and then. Then just hang on to them and see
what happens next. Who knows we could all lose interest in the next decade.
- I don't like that people sell the brandnew ones for alot of money.
- The resellers buying everything a store has are driving up the prices way too much because normal people can't even get one without spending hours looking (and then it's just luck if you get there before the resellers). I think Ty should ship so many that the market is flooded and the resellers have to lower their prices dramatically (at least to the $10 range) and that all Ty dealers should limit quantities.
- I want Peace and Princessand people shouldn't be selling Princess for that much.
- I would like to be able to suggest new Beanies for Ty to produce
- I collect them because I think they are cute and if thay become valuable so be it. It bothers me when I see the sheer madness of some who want these cute toys. There are some crazy people in this world. I also dont like regular srores selling currents for high prices. Leave that to the secondary market. While Im venting I want to say I dont like people who say they are collecting for their kids when we know that its mostly for themselves, kids dont really care if the beanies are of mint condition.
- my little girls love their beanies, and I aprreciate the well made little inexpensive toys.
- I don't like that it is hard to get certain beanie babies. Retailers are charging such high prices (Princess), that I, as a child, cannot afford some beanies, except with the help of my parents.
- lower overall prices(retired and current)
- beanies are for kids, but some of the prices charged by people are ridiculous.
- I don't like to see anyone, ty dealers as well as the secondary markets making the price of the new ones out of reach for the average person. $250 - $300 for The likes of Erin is not fair. This should be a fun hobby that all can enjoy.
- Some retailers are getting way out of control with there prices. But obviously people are paying it or otherwise the stores would not be asking so much $ for them.
- I have a spot {with a spot} that has a sticker on the plush tag with the heart and star. I heard that Mc Donals is going to have tiny b.b again!
- Curly the bear
- I think that everyone on the BB Guestbookshould stop sell the BBs so high it's unfair too the one who can't purches them or doesn't have enough money.
- I think people are being very greedy. Us kids can barely afford beanies like Peace even though they are current. There is a store where I live ( Toronto ) that sells all of their beanies for $10. Even Peace. I hope stores will catch on to this fair price.
- They need to retire the brown tailed Bongo/with name on tag
- I have a suggestion-I would like to see Ty come out with State Bears or Animals (ie official state animal/birds). I would like a whistle blower program for over greedy reatailers and secondary merchants.
- I dislike retail owners who buy up all their shipments of exclusive beanies ie: the Princess Bear, and resell them for two hundred dollars. This seems illegal to me.
- I dislike retail owners who buy up all their shipments of exclusive beanies ie: the Princess Bear, and resell them for two hundred dollars. This seems illegal to me.
- I feel
- The stores that are selling out the back door or selling on the secondary market when ty sells to them and they are supposed to be selling in their store for the price they sell regular ones for --not for the big prices that they can get in the secondary market
- none, thanks
- I wish that the stores would sell the new bears to the general public
- a bear named cheeseballs They should make a cat named misty and a ant named phil and a cardnal named george and a bluebird named albert along with a cochroach named freddy and a fourth of july bear named mike
- more rabbits
- I don't like people making fake beanies
- Beanie Babies are the coolest thing. I have many. My friends and I always go "Beanie Hunting" I do hope though that more retire more regulary.
- I dislike manny the manetee. He is not as cute as other beanies.
- I think Ty should pass a rule that there shoud be a certain price for each! As an example Princess for a hundered or cheaper!=-)
- WE DO SELL BEANIE BABIES, AND DO NOT APPRECIATE THE BAD REP TOWARDS HALLMARK STORES. WE WHO SELL BEANIES AT A REASONABLE PRICE BECAUSE WE BUY THEM AT 2.50 EACH AND SELL THEM FOR 5.00 FOR A MEAR 2.50 PROFIT. WE DONT APPRECIATE THE DISCRIMINATION TOWARDS ALL OF THE HALLMARK STORES, THAT SHOULD JUST HAPPEN TOWARDS THE ONES WHO ARE OVERPRICING THEM, WE ARE HAPPY TO SELL THEM FOR 5.00 (WE AT LEAST NEED A SMALL PROFIT TO STAY IN BUISINESS) BECAUSE THAT IS THE LOWEST PRICE IN OUR TOWN THAT YOU CAN FIND THEM F
R. I ALSO THINK BEANIES SHOULD BE DIRECTED TOWARD KIDS AND BANNED FROM ADULTS THAT BUY JUST TO SELL FOR A PROFIT. AND THANKS TO THE IRRESPONSIBLE ADULTS, I AND KIDS EVERYWHERE CANNOT AFFORD THE BEANIES IN WHICH I WISH TO PURCHASE.
- For as well made and adorable they are, it is a shame it is so hard for children to get them! Almost every place around here is for the adults. Once in awhile there is a children's day but that is becoming less and less due to some of the new beanies (Princess & Erin.) My biggest complaint would be the back-door selling at retail stores. rersD
- I think the pricing of Princess and Erin are ridiculous!
- Don't have alot of time to find them, but when I call and they have them in by the time I get there many are gone and I'm told that people come in and buy them by the dozens upon dozens. This is not right.
- This has gotten way out of hand. The prices are way too high for retired on the secondary market.
- I think retailers that raise the prices just because something is hard to find should be dropped. We have several stores in Lawton that are authorized Ty retailers and some are selling Princess for $300.00. Some of the stores in this town sell the ones that are harder to find, such as Peace, Curly and the other bears for $12.00. Rainbow and Iggy were also sold for $12.00 simply because they were mistagged. This is not fair to people trying to buy for their children. Also, one of the stores sells a
y of them for $15.00 and up. Some of these stores are supposedly selling to secondary stores here in town. I think Ty should come out with a buffalo, cardinal, and a prarie dog. Those would be different. I think Bongo and Rover may retire soon.
- i like them becausde they're C.U.T.E.!
- can't wait for more teenie beanies
- it is cool.
- I have heard of a royal blue teddy with a crown named Prince. Will this be Princess' replacement? Only Ty Warner knows, the rest of us can only guess.
- I dislike retailers who encourage minors to gamble on chances to win a HTF beanie and where the retailer keeps all the profits from this.
