- My mom and I have had a great time collecting. We have not purchased any on the Internet and only have one of each, but we just completed our collection today. We only need Erin and Britannia to have all the fourth generation tag Beanies. Hooray!
- I love collecting, but hate the Ty head games trying to geet some of the Beanies.
- Send me a free beanie!
- i think all beanies should be sold for $6 and not $1000+ so that kids can afford them like it was origanially supposed to be.
- My mom buys beanies for me
- I would like it very much if the regular people could buy a Princess bear. By opening up the market much more money would be raised for the fund set up.
- Where do secondary retailers get there supplies?
- please sell the princess bear to all beanie fans
- I'm very disappointed that when a new beanie comes out that a few people seem to get their hands on them to offer them at outrageous prices thus driving prices way out of wack. I think that the company (TY) needs to make more of them available so that we (true collectors not dealers) stand a chance of adding them to our collections without having to crawl on our hands and knees and offer all that's in our pocketbooks to add that one new beanie to our collection. I guess I don't understand how the stor
s don't have them for sale but every "dealer" in town has them for way to much!!!!!
- i think ther should be more of the other countries available for people in the states that don't cost us an arm and leg to purchase. my daughter in going to england on spring break with her high school class, and i wish she could have a list of stores that carry Britannia bears, in hopes of finding her at least one, that does not cost a fortune. if anyone has a list and expected cost fir mid april please e-mail me so she might have it my e-mail address is as follows hemejo@aol.com any help will be ve
y helpful. thanks David Lovette
- I think that Pounce might be retired because there is a brand of cat treats that is called Pounce.

- I love Beanie and hope they never stop making them! But it is so unfair that I will never get my Kiwi since I'm only 12 and don't have $20.0
- I feel that people try to cheat you out of money and take it to seriously!!
- As a mother, I think your concept of producing a quality product for a reasonable price is great! I only wish, when my kids are looking for their favorite "BB" that all stores would share your philosophy, $5.00. Unfortunately that is not the case. We recently puchased two "spunky", to our surprise when we got home there was not a swing tag on them..is there any way to have a swing tag put on them...Unfortunately, the store we bought them at does not have any more in stock and does not do refunds. I
have two kids that collect BB and are always excited about any new ones coming on the market and hoping the will run across some fo the old ones at a good price. I would also liek to request any information you are able to provide regarding possibly becoming adistributer for your company. Thanks Alba Lovett
- Many authorized TY dealers in my area are very unfair as to how many beanies they let certain people buy, for instance hospital gift shops let hospital employees buy more than non-hospital employees, also there have been many stores that I call on a day to day basis that sometimes lie as to whether or not they have beanies.
- I love all beanies!!!! The store owners are very stupid. They buy each beanie for 2.50 and sell for more than three times that price!
- In large because of BBs I have met the a lot a extremely nice people that I feel I would never had met otherwise. BB people are fun as well as hard working at collecting.

- NEED PRICE CONTROLS. THERE SHOULD BE A WAY THAT EVERBODY HAD A CHANCE TO BUY.
- A chipmunk beanie and an easter chick beanie would be cute!
- i would like to get an e-mail address for someone at TY to speak with about becoming a dealer of beanie babies
- I wish that someday I will have a room full of Beanie Babies including Princess and Erin. There is a rumor that the first Princesses will be worth more because of the glass over the tag. And then Ty will make more princesses that are common and the ones they made before will be worth millions.
- I dislike the high retired prices
- I now have princess and erin and hope the beanie madness will end . I know all I can do is try . If a new bear comes out I might be tempted rumor is a peach bear with a ribbon I don't remember the color of the ribbon will be out next and already I am thinking about where I will seek out this newest treasure. I am not alone I have many friends in the same boat. It has been fun and at times torture and I think I am at the end I have one hundred and something different beanies I think that should be eno
gh. My little girls room look like beannie land!!!!!

- I think the retailors should be a little more consistant. I have not fould one yet that is selling Erin or Princess for the regular price. Would like the Beanies to be more available for kids, my 6 year old does not understand when she can't get one that she really wants. Next retirement: Patti Chocolate Snort Pinchers. Thank you.
- I think ty has to retire at least three dog twenty just too many and the last release had two.
- I am an employee at a retail store that sells Beanie Babies. I would just like to say that people don't realize what it is like to work with these stuffed animals. We try to be fair to everyone, but there is always going to be someone that yells at you because you don't have any of which ever one they wanted left. I also think it would be nice for people to buy some of the other product that we sell in our store. We have had a whole new crowd of people in our store since the phenomenon hit the nati
n, but it would be nice if they noticed some of the other things in our store.
- If I cannot get Erin for my sister at reasonable price, we will sell all of these things and never buy another one again. Case closed.
- They are too expensive!
- I LOVE Beanies. I hope Beanies will last forever!
- I feel that stores such as Hallmark and other shops that sell beanies are milking this beanie phenomenon. They charge whatever prices they feel necessary, and it's unfair to the people who enjoy the beanies most:children. Ok, collectors can afford to pay alot for beanies, but not children. I find that to be a downside on beanie babies, but it's not Ty Warner's fault, it's the marketing. I am glad I started collecting beanies before they became such a hot item.
- I was dividing the BBs for shelves, 1 shelf for dogs and cats. 2 shelf creatures on or near the water, 3 shelf creatures on or near a farm, 4 shelf animals in the wild and shelf #5 unicorns, dinosaurs and animals that do not belong on another shelf. I said to my husband as I was doing this "they still make me smile :-() "
- I predict there will be a retierment this spring
- I think they should make an election day bear
- I am very disappointed when I go into shops to find that the owner is holding back Beanies such as Princess and Erin for $200.00 each. It totally cuts out the everyday Beanie lover and collector from ever hoping to complete their collections due to the high price that the shop is asking. It's all very maddening and frustrating. What can we do about this sort of gouging? When I ask them why they are doing this to we little consumers they say they are "only in it for the money $$$$$$$$$$" !!!!! I'
mad!!!!!!!
- I DON'T LIKE BEANIE BABIE DEALERS WHO CHARGE TO MUCH
- I don't like having to worry about counterfits,
- Being from Alaska, it is often hard to find certain beanies. I am also an educator and am often working when others are buying. I would like more of a chance to by certain beanies.
- all new beanie babies bought directly from TY should not be sold for more than $6 a piece---too many greedy merchants out there taking away the fun of collecting from the little ones who can not afford to pay 12,15 dollars a beanie baby
- We need an addict support group!
- I want an Iguana, I thought I had purchased one but as it turns out it was Rainbow and the tage were misprinted
- I love Beanie Babies! My mom is so into them she is what got me into them. Thank you Ty for all the fun you have given all of us by creating beanie babies!
- I really do not like the greediness of some who try to purchase more than the allotted one allowed at most stores (specifically with all the new ones. It amazes me what lengths people go to to coerce a stranger into making an additional purchase for them, such as offering to pay $20 or more.
- iit may end up like the cabbage patch kids
- come out with not so many new at their release time. Summer
- prediction.........PEACE, CURLY, VALENTINO, & NANOOK WILL RETIRE BY APRIL
- Yes, I would like to say..that my daughter and I enjoy the Beanie Babies very much. She will make up stories with them and we play together and have fun with the Babies. But I am very disturbded about the the fact the prices of the Babies ...for example the Erin and the Princess..right now you cannot touch those forunder 200.00 dollars, and where is the money going? Not to the charities of Princess Di, but in the persons pocket who has a connection that can get 12 or 36 Erins or Princess. And beca
se I am not friends with the gal who owns the flower shop, I can't get the Princess or the Erin..what is fair? My daughter would like to have an Erin or Princess just like the little girl who lives down the street, but her parents make double the money we make. So my daughter cannot afford the Princess or Erin so how does that make a child feel? I cannot afford to give 300-400 dollars for just one Bear. I can afford the 5-10 dollars, but not hundreds of dollars. I understand the collecting part of it
but who does the toy industry belong to the children or the parents wnating to make a buck and the children not learning from it...just the fact that the lawyers daughter can afford it but the nurses daughter can't....Ty needs to take a look at the market and figure a way that they can make the bears affordable to all and cut out the ones that are cut throating the under dog. But I love Beanie Babies..anyway..I just cannot afford to pay the high prices...
- It is disappointing when the retailers buy or give to employees the beanies that are in the most demand, leaving none for the primary consumer. The employees at the stores have total control over who gets a beanie and who doesn't. I don't appreciate the retailers complaining about having to sell beanie babies (the hassle of it) when I know it's a top money-maker for them.
- I am having fun and my grandchildren are profiting by it,
- I think that beanies are great and i wish all of the currents were 5.00, I think that Ty Warner can tell stores that if they don't sell them for 5.00 they will get less beanies for a higher price. I think that Nanook the husky,Patti, and Chocolate are gonna retire the soonest of all. In wish that I could find Brittania in America for at least $15.00 and Princess and Erin for 5.00 and not $300.00. The Beanies i want most of all are Flutter, Peace, Princess, Erin, Hissy, Brittania, 97 Teddy, and Snowbal
. I really love beanies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I am having fun and my grandchildren are profiting by it,
- I am having fun and my grandchildren are profiting by it,
- i need beanie babys
- We need more, more, more! Ty where are the beanies?
- I love the Bears and wish they were easier to find. It seems the secondary market really jacks up the prices on the bears and collectors like myself either can't find them or can't afford the prices. I LOVE MY BEANIES!
- I would like Ty to set up a toll free hot-line where beanie collectors could turn in stores that purchase directly from him, and then sell at outrageous prices. We have two store in this town that are selling Peace for $50.00 and Princess is $79.95. None of this is going to charity
- when I said I liked the cats I also count the wild cats too. Beanie babies are so cute!
- I like the wa;y retailers are getting regular of shipments of the new currents and recent retireds, this is very exciting. The secondary market is charging too much for currents - and new releases. The secondary market bloodsuckers have taken all the fun out of Princess - I predict the same for Erin.
- i think retailers that charge 150.00 for some of the beabies because of supply and demand is rediculous. they should not be allowed to sell them that way. it should be on a first come first serve basis. i have been trying for two years to buy from ty for my flower shop. i have been in business for 14 years and they will not sell to me. but they sell to people that have a tax number and no actual business. it isn't fair business. but what is. i still would like to carry ty beanie babies in my sho
. sell them for $5.00 on a first come first serve basis.
- I wish they would STOP this nonsence of sending out 15 or so of the special beanies to dealers. All this does is make greedy dealers even MORE greedy. It makes it IMPOSALBE to get what my daughter needs>
- All beanies should be available in all countries
- I feel that the prices are out of hand, and that the retailers are hoarding all their stock to sell to make a killing at the public expense.
- no answer
- I think it is not fair that the retailers are either put Erin and Princess away and not saleing or they charge alot for them. The retailers complain that some of the people buy and resale. The retailers are making us pay alot for Princess and Erin so some people have to resale so they can afford the two bears. I'm also upset that TY is causing this by limiting the bears. From a person that is unable to purchase either bear.
- I want Erin!
- fuck you all, you asshole-suckers!!!!hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll kill you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I'm upset at how hard it is to get certain Beanies, like Erin, for a reasonable price. She's been for sale around me for $250.00
- Ty should make and retire more bb bears
- I have heard from a girl who knows someone who works for TY inc. that Snip will retire.......................I also dislike that to get Princess and Erin that you must pay high prices
- Ty should make and retire more bb bears
- The grownups are hogging Beanies too much, and charging too much money in the secondary market. This makes collecting for kids too hard and too expensive. The retired prices are too high for kids to afford. This is NUTS! Collecting Beanies was started by kids and should remain for kids. We don
- That customers are alway giving people who work there a hard time about the price. When I'm not the one who set the price in the first place.
- Ilike them very much and there cute
- Dislike the way new releases are held back in very small quantities pushing the prices out of reach of the average family who are the real supporters of the product and are the ones who really love and appreciate Beanies. Lose them and you will lose the real market forever which would be a terrible shame. Remember these are for children as well --that's important, very important. Thank you for listening.
- I feel that they should send out more beanie babys to retailers. No other collectible is shipped so minimal . I feel this whole situation with the Princess Diana was truly unfair. don't you realize the more sold the MORE goes to charity. It is sad that this started out as a way for childern to feel special because the could buy them by themselves. Now you need a home equity line to afford them. I feel these places that sell them for 3-4 times the amount is unfair. (those are the ones you can get at bb
etailers for $5.00.) they should be closed down. I feel you should have tighter controls.
- I love collecting beanie babies but not too sure when the fad will fade and the prices will go down, which seems to be inevitable
- I hate so much when the store merchants get the new ones and sell them for more then 5.00. Or make you buy two old to get one new, or keep all the princess and erin bears and sell on internet for 2oo.oo or more I think they are so unfair and should never be allwoed to sell a beanie ever ever again. This practice is totally unfair to the children.
- I dislike how Ty randomly puts just certain ones in peoples orders, and the ones they do if they are requested alot in that area there is never enough in the dealers orders, which in turn causes the dealers to mark the prices higher and turn away honest business.
- I hope that TY re-releases their retirements for a short time.
- It is maddening that so many retailers sell direct to secondary dealers and never offer some of the more desirable beanies to the customer
- I disagree with Ty retiring Snowball and 97 Teddy cause' they weren't in circulation enough
- Beanies are cool, awesome, neat, and wonderful
- The retailers need to sell them for 5.00 not jack up the prices for ones they just got in that are new or retired. They also need to give everyone achance to get some.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES ALOT
- the new beanies are kind of ugly.
- the prices that secondary markets sell for are insane. I wish Ty would do something about it.
- They should make as many bears as the other so they aren't so hard to get or so expensive on the secondary market. Bear collecting is very popular so making the bears so hard to get is VERY dicouraging to little kids, which after all is who the beanies are really made for, so PLEASE don't be so stingy with producing bears!!
- My daughter wants the Princess bear so badly but we can't afford one .I think the price on this one has gotten way out of line!!!!!!
- I think they should have a peacock.
- I just started buying beanies very recently, and I already give up - there are too many, they are all cute, and I haven't got enough money. From now on I will only collect cats (though if I see a fantastic deal, I could be swayed). I also have a suspicion that Ty is making mistakes on purpose - for example, Iggy and Rainbow's switched tags - everyone is going to buy two of each now, in case the switches ones become fabulously expensive. Oh well! I give up!
- i would like moore "insects". Maybe an ANT named "Picnic" ?
- I have never collected, or have been interested in collecting anything in my life. Beanie Babies are so irrestibly cute, I can not control myself. Do they put human catnip in these things? The thrill of the hunt is DEFINITLY a large part of the equatio
- TY must maintain controls so that children can still purchase Beanies. Collectible Beanies should become like collectible Barbies or baseball cards, where adult participation is involved.
- We do not like the secondary market because it is often difficult to tell fakes from the real ones. Buyer beware! We are not sure if we have a real Grunt or not. We would like to see TY make a Woodpecker, Stork, Pomeraian, Golden Retrever, Anteater, Roadrunner, Clam w/pearl, Triceratops and other Dinos , Wolly Mammouth.
- I feel there are people out there that are taking advantage of some unsuspecting people. They are charging outrageous prices and trying to make a fortune in a short time. I believe these people should be stopped in some way, I don't know how. The people that are collecting them for a hobby don't stand a chance. Please give everyone a chance!
- Everything is awesome!!!!
- I wish I could find more stores in my area that sell Beanies. There is only 5 around that I can find.
- Mobs should not be controled and stupid should get mobbed most of all
- PEOPLE ARE GRABBING FOR RESALE NOT TO COLLECT,& THIS IS WHAT HAS MADE COLLECTING SO HARD. LAST YEAR I HAD NO PROBLEM FINDING MY BEANIES. PEOPLE ARE GREEDY & THEY TRY & CORNER THE MARKET. THE GREEDY RESALER'S TAKE THE FUN OUT OF COLLECTING.
- I am a collector of other items and this is an inexpensive way to get my daughter involved in the fun of collecting things. We only pay the regular price of 4.99 + tax for any item (my only rule on this craze) and my only complaint is the way some people act when a new shipment comes in. Adults push and shove the younger ones and one man took Spunky right out of my daughters hands (the store owner saw this action and demanded that the man give it back to her..which he did) We love your web site an
maybe some day you could do a feature on bean sprouts (she collectes them too!!)
- I dislike the secondary market people having all the new releases before they can be found in the retail stores. How are these people getting these beanies? Let's put some restrictions on this market.
- I hope TY will keep Princess and Erin out long enough for collectors to be able to get them at a reasonable price.
- I hate the fact that adults have taken it too far in expanding collections. Let's make it reasonable for anyone who wants to collect. Also Ty shouldn't limit retailers in the number of Beanies they can get at anyone time. Maybe Ty should hire more people for the demand.
- MORE NEWS!
- beanies are the bomb
- I think it's fine for people to trade beanies or buy extra beanies and sell. I will purchase extra ones and sell them and with that cash purchase another hard to get or older beanie. For example, back in October I sold a set of Holiday releases for $72 and turned around and purchased a coral the fish for $75. It makes it easier to afford that way. I don't like the way dealers have become who buy large quantities of bulk retireds which jack the price of older retireds up. That makes it very hard
or those who try to collect any beanie at a decent price.
- I think it a shame that people are just collecting them to sell at exhorbitant prices.
- I wish that they were more readily available, and the price should never be more than $6.50 per Beanie Baby. Also, the secondary markets should be eliminated. The Princess Bear should be remade with a lighter shade of purple and more readily available. I still haven't seen Erin the bear and it is March 8th. Each and every Beanie Baby is absolutely cute. Don't stop making them and please don't remake the retired ones. I am hoping that my duplicate Beanie Babies will help me when I retire in twenty
or more years. I am a Physical Education Teacher and I also help parents find Beanie Babies and they help me. I even give some away as gifts to the "needy" children at my school. They make fantabulous gifts and the price is just right!
- Would like to see ALL retailers sell in limited quantities so all could have a chance at new beanies.

- Some people complain about the prices on the secondary market. They seem to forget that they have a choice to either buy or not. I usually go with my instints about what I need to buy and enjoy watching the market. It's so much more fun than the stock market. May be not a lucrative, but definately more fun. By the way, If I thought it would help, I would stalk Ty Warner.
- I think Princess should be sold for original price $5.99 and it should be able to find in all Ty stores.
- overpricing on secondary market and hoarding and backdoor selling by retailers.
- need to make a Bronco beanie baby
- Retailer need to stop complaining to the customers about what a hassel beanies are to carry. Do they not think we know what kind of $$$$ they are making from them? And if a retailer is truly " fed up with Ty Warner and his unusual ways- all they have to do is stop carring beanies. It is truly annoying to be out having a blast with a young child, both be excited to find beanies and have some old grouch behind the counter grumbling about how she hope they never get anymore of them. Yes, Ty needs to
pply this restriction on it's retailers---only happy people sell beanie babies.
- I dislike the secondary market dealers who push and shove their way to the front of the line to buy beanies. also they hire people to be first in line, so the rare beanies are kept in the hands of the secondary dealers. also, i love bears, and all the bears are the hardest to find. why not change focus for awhile and make cats or reptiles rare. Also i would like to see a pink tie-dyed bunny. Maybe a tie-dyed version of otheer things too.
- I am disheartened by the way Ty has chosen to release both Princess and now Erin and the price gouging that has occured by retailers and secondary market making it impossible to obtain either for children or myself. I have also stopped frequenting any store which sells for more than resonable retail, esp. stores which did not give proceeds for princess to a charity, but profitted greatly from her sales.
- I don't like the obviously planted mfg oddities
- I think beanie babies are fun to collect because of the hunt that is involved
- i love beanie babies, and love the "rush' to find them. i think that they should not be sold in chain stores and that alot of people over price there beanies when they re-sale them(like princess) i think that it is about time to retire some of the dogs since most of them are still current. PS: i am having a hard time thinking of a new kind of animal (beanie) that ty will create.
- I dislike the limited supply of new beanies
- I would like to see a ferret and a tie dyed Hippopotamus named hippi
- I have lost a lot of interest due to the irrational way in which retailers get the beanies. Store owners lie to you, engage you in game playing, make you hate them. I only go one or two places now. So many people are sick of Ty Warner & his stupid marketing system. He knows some of the retailers are not really stores and probably knows who sells them out the back doors. It is too bad that kids can't get them anymore. All if this just makes me think of setting up on a corner in the spring and sell
all currents for $3 and retireds for $5. People are just too greedy these days. It's not even fun anymore. I think the quaote of the day on the Ty websute should be "sick of Ty"
- I enjoy collecting these adorable Beanies, someday when my grandkids are old enough to appreciate them, they will get my collection. I feel Beanie collecting is a fun and interesting hobbie! Thanks Ty!
- I think its a shame that kids can't get Princess and erin my son has wanted them but I can't find them its silly. How do you explain that grownups are greedy people and are out to make a darn buck
- I just love collecting things and I've been lucky because whenever I'm out buying them, the owners of the stores and the other customers have bene nothing but courteus and gracious. It's refreshing to treat other collectors so nice. Thanks Ty for giving us something fun to do in our spare time!
- Beanies are the bomb!*****BBBBBOOOOOOOOMMMMMMM******
- Many Beanie people are not nice.
- The secondary market sucks mainly because almost all of them are dealers out to make money, they're not real collectors.
- I like the dealers that have kept their pries as low as they can and are being as honest as they can be. Mr. Warner should really do something to keep them supplied. The greedy secondary market people are getting too many BBs and I for one would like to see that stopped. especially the ones who are getting them form the distributers. We have 2 dealers in our area who get hundreds of BBs every week, I've been told that they have paid the distributers to send the BBs to them instead of the regular Ty acc
unts.
- I wish that stores didn't auction off Erin and Princess Di dolls to the highest bidder, not every one can afford to pay that much.
- enough with dogs and cats!!!!!
- MY DAD IS A FREQUENT BEANIE SHOPER. HE HAS A FRIEND THAT GETS HIM SOME WHEN THEY COME IN. RECENTLY HE WENT TO PUERTO RICO AND GOT PRINCESS FOR $20.00. HE BOUGHT 6 OF THEM. I THINK THAT THE NEXT TO BE RETIRED IS ONE OF THE BUNNIES. THEY'RE CUTIES!! *******
- we are totally upset that once reputable merchants such as a number of Hallmark stores that are taking advantage of customers and lying that they do not have any beanies when in fact we saw them on the counter. In addition they are selling the new ones at 10 to 15 times markup. For those of us who are trying to collect them to donate to fund raising charities this becomes an up setting matter. Collecting these cute animals is fun as long as it is done fair. New idea for the baseball beanie make a beani
of the mascote of that team and don't just offer it to kids. Adults are collectors too. and some of us do not have childern. Thank you for asking what we think.
- Ty Warner,I'd like to see you suffer. You and all of those jerks on the secondary market suck. Why are you making Beanies so hard to find? I just want to get them to give as gifts and to decorate my painting room with. As a mother of two and girl scout leader, I have these words to say: GET A LIFE AND STOP RIPPING US OFF!!!!!
- Stop bringing one out at a time like Princess & Erin. It makes them impossible to get, everyone hoards them incuding the retailers and the prices go sky high. I know of several Hallmark stores in my area who pull all the Princess & Erin Beanie babies and sell them on the internet for as high as $700. This was suppose to be a colectible for the kids that they could purchase at a retail store. You tell me what child can afford to pay $700 on the secondary market. If these beanie babies had not been s
ngled out, they would be avsailable for everyone at a fair price at stores like the other new ones.
- I'm just downright disgusted by dealers on the secondary market. Those greedy fools are ruining this craze for everyone.
- Not at this time.
- Im realy mad that it is so hard to find Erin and Princes. A place on the beach is selling Princes for $350. Me as a kid it is very hard to get because where am I going to get that kind of money. Even though I dont Know about barbie's. I think BB are going to last as long as them, but they need to make more quanities so every loving collector shoul be able to get the BB they desire. Also Places like Party World and Cheshier cat should not make you pay more or buy another beanie with it. Beanie Mom I lov
your site it's always the place I check first to find new updated information on Beanie Babies. I realy do think you should have a good prie guide.
- I Love Beanies and I wish they would sell all currents for 5.00 like Ty Warner wants them to, but I think they should sell retirees for the price it's worth and no more. My favorite beanie is one I don't have, it is Digger the orange crab, and my collection are these, Iggy, Claude, 1998 retired Derby, Pouch, Doby, Legs, Valentino, Bucky, Speedy,Seamore (my brothers who kept in the greatast care), Lucky, Pinchers, Freckles, Gracie and a coke beanie retired in Sep. 97 and a taz beanie and soon to be adde
a nintendo beanie, Mario. One last thing, I LOVE BEANIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- As much as I enjoy these charming little toys, I am saddened that they seem to have brought out the worst in people. I've given my daughter most of the Beanies to play with and have only replaced those that were covered in peanut butter. I'll continue to do so for as long as Ty makes them but I refuse to assign them any more worth than what I paid for them. I predict that they will soon go the way of baseball cards and the only Beanies that will retain any appreciable value will be those that were reti
ed between 1993 and January 1997. All others will only show a slight increase in value with the exception of the very special Beanies, Princess and Erin and any others of their "ilk".

- Need a Labrador Retriever. #1 AKC reg. dog!
- I want Princess!
- i wish retailers would'nt sell "out the back door"
- I wish I could find more retireds that weren't so outrageously priced.
- NEED LARGER QUANITY OF BEARS OF EACH BEAR
- Spike is very hard-to-find and I predict he will retire next. I got him for a dollar more then normal Beanie Babies.
- My main gripe is the fact that all the beanies that regular people want seem to be all on the secondary market before every being orginally retailed to an individual.
- I would like to see more stores have more than a certain number of "new releases" so there are more than enough so everyone can get one.
- I think you could make a Beanie Baby that was playing football and was kicking the football.
- I just begancollecting three days ago and i'm very disappoited that the retailers keep lists of their customer's needs and we have over one hundred people ahead of us for all shipments of the Princess Bear and Erin. I feel this is very unfair and I now want to be a distributor so I can offer a selection of Beanie babies to whomever contacts me.
- It really bugs me to see retailers selling their merchandise on the internet. We have a local retailer that sold all her first princess and erins on the internet then lied to her customers. There will be life after beanies but everyone will remember how they were treated!
- Ty Warner should get his act together, and start shipping on time, and shouldn't limit retailers to just 36 of each style.
- I work at an authorized BB dealer's store, the employees aren't allowed to buy them
- I think that too many stores are selling out the back door. They are selling like Princess & Erin.
- I do not think it is right when you limit the primary dealers to a certain price and they do not apply that. We have a retailer in my town, that is always hording back, and then changing prices. I thought that they were not to sell for over seven dollars? And as far as princess goes, what are they doing? You hear one minute she is retiring soon, the next they are making her available to anyone wanting one. I think that this is a wonderful idea. My daughter and I enjoy talking with other BB finati
s about all the latest. What a great pass time!! Thank you for giving me something my daughter and I both enjoy.
- hate the fact that some beanies are impossible to get, especially in rural areas. Would love to be able to get special edition pieces like Erin for my own pleasure, not for resale, but they only release 6 to stores nearby. One of our stores donates these to charity and raffles them off which is a fair way to do it but I wish more pieces were available. I don't collect for investment purposes but because the kids love them so.
- I think kids should have beanie credit cards and adults should have a limit of 3 beanies the limit for kids should be 5.I think they need to retire Stretch before he gets to popular.I just gotyhe last on today and 2 girls saw me get the last one and one whined and the other on sniffled.I also think they should retire Bongo because he is running down on popularaty.
- Yes I don't think some of the retailers out there should be doing what they are doing selling brandnew beanie babies for Higher prices than what they are worth My children can't buy the new ones like Princess, Erin because they are asking way to much and I really think that this is really wrong Beanie Babies are for Children aren't they
- I need more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- I don't intend to try to make money from anything I collect. I only collect the things I love. If they appreciate in value, so much the better. I'll love my Beanies even if the bottom of the market falls out. I don't intend to sell them.
- I wish I could get " Princess" the bear
- I just started one week ago collecting and Im addicted!!!
- nothing at this time
- I like it!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I love your web site!!!!!! I predect that ty will come out with a new fish.
- I don't like how the stores hold back beanies especially the new ones for other customers instead of putting them all out and not saving any for there customers.
- I wish I could find the Princess bear easier
- I refuse to purchase from the secondary market. This is a children's collectible and greedy individuals have taken away my children's enjoyment.
- I don't like the way Ty has marketed Princess and Erin. I think they should be made in a plentiful supply so every collector can have one at a reasonable price like all other beanies. Limited supplies cause the high price on the secondary market, and the average collector and children cannot afford the limited ones.
- I think or suggest that a Bichon Frise beanie will come out in a number of years
- use more childish words
- I find that several dealers have made it impossible for children (or anyone) to purchase the "new" beanies due to their unethical policy of insisting that the buyer must purchase three "regular or hard to sell" current beanies at their regular price before any one of the "new" beanie can be bought for regular price. The store inparticular was the chain called the "It Store". The sales people informed me at two locations that this was their company policy. It hardly seems fair to ask a child or any
ne to spend $40.00 just to by one new beanie! I did finally find Spunky at another store for $8.50 and a smile! Needless to say the only stores with a firm supply of the new beanies are the "It Stores" in our town.

- I think the shortage of Princess bears is ridiculous, and even though Ty has tried to prevent authorized retailers from selling her at exhorbitant prices, it's still happening. The limit of twelve Princess' per month is also ridiculous. It frustrates peoplr like myself who not only collect Beanies, but were also big admirers of Princess Diana. I would like to purchase Princess from an authorized retailer so that I know that my money will be treated as a donation, not cash in some secondary retailer'
pocket. The idea that the secondary retailers are using Princess Diana's name to make a fast buck makes me ill, and I sometimes let secondary retailers know that. I want this bear BAD, but not bad enough to lower myself to the level of these heartless secondary retailers.
- I think that some people sell B.B. for too much $!!!
- I think that secondary market stinks!!!! They are to collect for currents and fpr retired it is fine don't mark currents up to double or triple the cost!!!!
- I am primarily buying complete sets of Beanie Babies for each of my grandchildren. As they increase in price, I plan to sell them and put the money in a college fund for each child. At this time they are appreciating faster than the stock market.
- There should be fewer retailers.
- They should retire more beanies!
- I love Beanies they are wonderful and cheaper than diamonds and Barbies!! MY Mother is TY Beanie obsessed!!! She waited outside a store for 15 hours with my sister and they both got a princess bear for 5.99 last week in thomasville, georgia. she was ecstatic!!! Now she wants Erin, I don't knoe if we'll find her ,she's outrageous around here!!!
- my daughters and I love collecting. we prefer to trade our extra beanies but on occasion we have sold to purchase special retireds that my daughters "needed to have"
- I think they way TY announces a new beanie and then markets only 12 at a time to each store is totally ridiculous. The secondary market , for example, got hold of Princess before the stores did leaving "regular" people w/no hope of ever getting one and now that there's a second version of Princess.... The same thing is happening w/Erin. Where is she? And just why do some retailers feel they have to make a "killing" profit wise on Beanies? They're already paying a low price to TY for them and then
they inflate the price to the consumer to such an extent that we'll never have Princess or Erin in our house!!
- Everyone would like to know just what is going on with the Princess bear market!
- you should stop making so many bb you dhoulf make like 2 or less beanie babies a month beause it makes it harder to collect them when you make 20 or more a month
- I like Erin and Princess the same you have to get both of them beacause they are so cool!
- PEACE IS THE BOMB!!!!!!!
- total quantity restrictions - limiting to one each is ok but where I buy you can only get 5 at a time and I feel the limit should be a little higher
- they should not retire them so fast and not make as many new ones.
- Retailers have gotten greedy and are overcharging for the hard to find non-retirees. This is taking the fun out of the hunt to the point where I am seriously considering discontinueing collecting,.
- they should not retire them so fast and not make as many new ones.
- I dislike that it is difficult to find new ones and that some people buy up all of a supply, making the demand greater. Ty has developed a certain strategy, I think, to keep customers on the go for more BBs
- N/A
- I am glad part of the profits go to protecting our friends, the animals.
- just keep them coming!!!!!!!
- ILBB!
- In my area, the southeast, its difficult to find beanies. If a store gets some in, they are few in number and gone within 1 day. Plus, I have a question, is there a reputable secondary internet dealer?
- I think they should never retire Beanie Babies and make more of different kinds.
- the new princess never got to the public. the stores employes scarfed them up for resale
- At this point I am so disgusted with the retailers, in regards to popular BB's, ie PRINCESS and ERIN because they refuse to sell them for retail. So noone with minimal money will ever own these BB's or kids....Something has got to change!!!!!
- Beanies are here to stay, it is not just a "phase".
- Ty not making enough of beanies that everyone will want, e.g., Princess, Erin
- I love Beanie Babies and would like them to be more accessible. I cannot find Peace anywhere, and would like to know why he is so hard to find.
- I wish I could find Princess and Erin.
- I don't like when store charge more than $6 for a beanie
- I THINK BB ARE A GOOD INVESTMENT, AND SHOULD LAST FOR ALONG TIME
- Beanies are THE HOTTEST TOY IN SAINT LOUIS
- I like all Beanies and I hope that they continue to come out with new ones often.
- yes
- I think Beanie Babies are great because they are cute and are becoming more valuable every day.
- Just wish more of the retireds were more affordable. My husband says if they put a lien on the house because of my beanie addiction, I'm in trouble!
- I wish the newest beanies weren't ssoooo expencive!
- I hate the secondary market
- Beanies are fun, but some of the secondary market entrepreneurs and their customers are scary!
- we dislike beanie hoarders.
- I love Beanies and hate the secondary market!
- Go Beanies
- Crunch will retire in May
- TY SHOULD START A STATE-BIRD LINE.
- I think that stores should have maling lists and not lines becase lines are not fair if people get there 5-7 hours before the store opens. Also if the find out you work at the flea market they should stop selling to you!
- I think it is very unethical for retailers to up prices on harder to find beanies. It isn't fair for them to charge $20 - $50 for a peace or a curly when it only cost them a few dollars. I started collecting beanies because it was fun and I could afford a $5 -$7 purchase here and there. Now retailers are pricing them out of my budget.
- I think the counterfeits and seconds are going to discourage people from seriously collecting beanies because they will be too hard to detect.
- I think they are quite special and very cute....most all of them will put a smile on my face or make me chuckle. I wish I had them all...........and sometimes wish they were more readily available...but that takes away the anticipation of what is coming.. thanks to Ty for Beanies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
- It's fun, cool.
- I think that BBs should only be sold up to $6 at the most.
- I think that with the next retirement on Mother's Day, the bunny trio will go with ending of Easter.
- I got the surprise of my life just this week. My Daddy was in Puerto Rico on business at the Rio Mar Westin and he walked into their gift shop just as the clerk was unpacking his first shipment of Princesses! Talk about right place at the right time. And they were only selling them for $19.95! He came back home with 6 of them for giving to his and my friends that collect them, since they were so inexpensive - relatively speaking of course. I am glad that at least one retailer is not trying to screw the
collector over the Princess issue. Kudos to the Rio Mar Westin!
- please send Erin to Battle Creek, MI
- Collecting beanies is an addiction!
- Ty put Erin on the net at the beginning of the month to get interest and said 12 per store. Most stores didnt get it and the ones in my area the did get it, sold it to flea market venders.I wouldn't mind buying a limited piece from TY at a high price but it makes me mad that the retailers decide whos allowed to buy and change the price depending on whos buying. They're worse than the secondary market.
- I started collecting to help decorate my baby's room because we picked Noah's Ark as her decorating theme. Little did we know it was such a big hit or I may not have let her play with some of them, anyway the beanie babies are a cute and inexpensive way to decorate! The only real problem I've encountered (besides trying to decide which one to buy) is lack of availibility in our area. I'm from a town of about one thousand people.
- Speculation on "next to be retired" leads secondary sellers to spread misinformation and overcharge for BB's: Patty for example.
- I love the dogs and cats!
- I don't like the way retailers are trying to make mega bucks by selling Princess and Erin for hundreds of dollars when they only paid $2.50 for them and the money from Princess isn't going to charity and those of us who cannot afford to spend that kind of money will newver get them unless we are crazy enough not to feed our families for a few months this needs to be stopped and be need to get less greedy this is a fun hobby don't turn it into a war.
- Keep the BBs at a small price again. It takes the fun out of looking and hunting the Beanies, when the stores ask any price they want too. It spoils the fun and excitement of looking, and enjoying every Beanie Made. I almost quite a few times, and its getting to the point, its know fun anymore. when I'm in a store and talk and see the little kids just drool over the Beanies, and the moms can't afford them anymore. Its also cute to see the kids say the names and point out all the details on each B
anie, and hear I am with a list. The kids know everything about them. I mean everything. Its getting ridiculous & stupid. The kids wan Princess and their is know way they will ever be able to afford her. why put something on the market that can't be bought or found at a descent price. Our princess would NOT of approved. PUT IT THIS WAY-THEY WERE CUTE, BUT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE, MONEY COMES FIRST.
- hate when dealers make you buy 1 or more or the current ones in order to buy a new one!
- Ty's refusal to grant new distributorships is fueling the secondary market. We have tried, unsuccessfully, to receive a distributorship for 6 months! Ty is slow to respond to correspondence and frustrating to pursue.
- I hope Beanie Babies go on for a LONG time.
- dislike stores that make you buy 3 currents in order to buy one retired, when you have all currents plus lots of extras
- Why are stuffed children's toys so expensive?
- I believe retailers should not be able to sell the hard to finds & or retired beanies at a higher price. They did not have to pay anymore for them .Let them pay retail for them just like everybody else & put them out on commission. I just think it's very greedy of the retailers, since they get first pick of everything. The collectors who are children really don't have a chance. I'll get off the shop box now. Thanks for listening.
- I think you should not retire beanies so quick
- It's difficult when you buy beanies for your child & even the local store jack the prices up & make you buy 2 of the older beanies to buy 1 of the new releases!
- Beanies have many uses, can be worth alot of money
- New Beanies should stay at a price of $4.99 with few exceptions like Princess and Erin.
- Those retailers that sell beanies for 10 dolalrs are greedy!! I wish ty would do something!! I love beanies though so please don'tt misstake me!!!
- I think Ty will put out some New Beanies at Easter
- This started for kids, however the prices are driving out of range. Also the short time and limitation to suppliers (official) for Erin the bear to drive a craze is unethical business greed.
- This is the first thing I have ever collected. I love Beanies!!
- Too Hard to get!!
- got Chops as a gift & love "her". Plan to buy some now (could never find one when I tried to buy one for myself!)
- we don't know if we plan on collecting beanies anymore just because Ty and the people are making it impossible for children to collect them anymore. The price and the unavailablity is absolutely ridiculous. What started out for kids is now just a collection for very greedy people who do not care at all about the kids....only their pocketbooks.
- I love Beanie Babies!!!

- The new teenies are coming soon. i have seen the first one! It is Doby
- One thing, I talked to a sec. store someone came in there first week of March w/ 50 princess & 50 erin they wanted 16000 for all. The guy said no. It had to been an authorized dealer trying to make big bucks since no store said they didn't have any erins yet.
- We LOVE BBS
- I don't like it when adults take beanies from other people. I was in a store in January 1997 and had Libearty (for me), Righty(for my daddy), Lefty(for my brother) and Gracie (for my mommy). As I was walking up to the register some lady asked me where i got those. I said on the shelf over there and there was no more. The lady took all of them from me. I could not get them back! I never got a righty, lefty or libearty. i got a gracie later on though.
- I don't think that the prices should be so high for people that are on a fixed income that want to shop for their children. My husband has cancer but we want to get all of them for my daughter and grandson
- I dislike how kids, who they were created, can not find them , of if they can they are to expensive
- Could you talk to TY and ask him if he would make a Pink French Poodle and name it Frenchy?
- I hate when retailers sell hard-to-find Beanies for more than other Beanies. I also REALLY hate when stores charge up to $300 for Princess when they are only paying $2.50 for her. It is a complete rip-off!
- I don't like how new dealers are getting all the new currents and old dealers are not.
- I love to collect any kinds of cats. I look forward to retirements and wish I could get some of the older retirees without spending a fortune as well as the Canadian bear.
- I wish someone would have the guts to sell Princess to someone for $20. OR Maple OR Erin!!!!!! Somewhere along the line someone got it for $5 and then new they could get big time bucks for it!!!!!!
- It's fun trying to collect the popular ones.
- As a working woman, I wish retailers would put their new shipments out later in the day so we would have a chance to get the beanies we want!!!
- (For question #16, I put sec. is good and bad.) I LOVE beanie babies! My friend and I even have our own club! You know, it's nice to know that what you love to collect can be worth big bucks! I just love beanie babies!
- shipments of new ones should be faster
- N/A
- beanies rock!!!!!
- I hate high price sellers
- I think we're all nuts!!
- prices are going to get more out of hand as quality goes down
- I am tired of hawking the stores for new beanies (bears seem hard to get) - I wish TY would hold back distribution of initial shipment if they can only send out 12 - an average "joe" like myself can't get one unless I pay too much and buy over the net. Stores will keep for their friends or put up for charity fund-raising ($100-$300) most people can't afford to pay that.
- beanie people are insane I know i'm one
- I find it very disconcerning that the retailers except for Hallmark in my area (Chico, CA) are upping the price on new releases and raffeling off princess and Erin to the highest Bidder. I thought the idea was to sell to people at reasonable prices and not mass market the merchandise. For example, I know that Dove's Seceret Gardern's owner is selling part of her shipment over the internet for high dollar leaving only a few in the store. She has also raised the price on recently retireds even though
hey were just shipped. I think that stinks!! Hallmark still hasn't gotten their first 12 princes bears. They seam to be the most fair with their prices and continue to sell even retireds at regular prices. Teddy Bear Junction is also selling their beanies at outrageous prices and so is a brand new dealer in Paradise, Now & Then. I think this is unfair and is only going to make it harder for kids and collectors to obtain the beanies they desire.
- I would subtitle this section: Hard to tell the players without a scorecard. I would follow the Retail evaluation (#16) with a Consumer evaluation: What is your attitude toward other collector/buyers? Purpose: Define what the consumer thinks of their fellow consumer. Suggested choices are: Everybody's a wanna be dealer. Or my next door neighbor is over/undercharging me for beanies. Or beanies have taught kids the value of investment and money, both good and bad. In the Retailer evaluation
add this choice: Most dealers are not honoring dealer to dealer prices (a sign of an immature or unstable market). And this: Dealers are giving dealer prices to consumers (Amatuer and contributes to uncertain market...where does everyone stand?) Good idea. Appreciate the work you ladies and your staff are doing. One more comment. Haven't seen such a dynamic trend mostly in the hands of woman. Interesting. Maybe it's why the market is having a little trouble with these issues. Most of us woman ha
en't been socialized to set up and trade markets. I notice the sportcard guys are plenty interested. Last comment, I promise: Beanies are really a neat $6 item. The people are generally honest and nice, if a little naive about business. I feel good about beanies as a product that is well-made, gives "warm fuzzies"-good for the soul, is available to the family who can't afford a full collection and easy to give to those who can't afford any. AND fun to play with them with my other over-40 closet-k
d friends!
- DON'T LIKE RETAILERS SELLING AT SECONDARY PRICES. 100% PROFIT SHOULD BE ENOUGH
- I think collector who go to stores and come out with bags just to turn around and sell for more to make a profit is sad.
- I'd like to see a chipmunk and a cardinal, I dislike high retail prices (anything over $5.99 is too much), and I dislike the shortage of certain bears (Princess and Erin).
- dislike the way princess was handled, they made it impossible to get. and they are doing it to Erin.
- wished I'd learned about them sooner
- THERE SHOULD BE MORE NEW BEANIES OUT NOW SO PEOPLE WOULDN'T BE FIGHTING OVER THEM WHEN THEY FIRST COME OUT!!!!
- I do not like the way TY seems tp purposely control the numbers of beanies produced in order to keep demand high. That practice seems to go against the purpose of making Beanies in the first place and it ruins the fun of collecting them.
- I would LOVE to have Caw the crow, but with all those nasty secondary market "scalpers" who get as many as they can and sell them at outrageous prices, I'm afraid I naver will!! O=(
- When new ones come out, it's too hard to find them. You have to spend a fortune. I think the stores should carry more of them to satisfy customer demands and sell them for $5.oo.
- i believe the craze will run it's course, but i still intend on collecting
- I have to admit that I got into beanies as a way of spending time and energy with my 3 children. We have found several kind and caring souls out there and I'm sorry to say some very greedy and rude retailers. I suppose like everything else it's a good lesson for the kids to learn. Some people are ruthlessand and other are terrific.
- I don't think this thing is slowing down a bit. It will be interesting to see what Ty's action to limit dealers and to make them carry all the lines will be. I'm also interested in the Sally Winey bears etal.
- I love BB 'cause they are cute, but authorized dealers should not be sanctioned to sell at secondary market prices! Without limiting this practice, no hobbyist who is not out to make bucks, but only collects for private collection is able to attain the Beanie Babies missing from his/her individual collection.
- Peace will retire soon!!

- Well, I love to collect beanies. When I first started collecting them, I bought them because they were cute inexpensive gifts for my friends, and now all of those are retired. It's neat how they can be worth so much, but at the same time I'm disgusted with it. People are becoming too greedy, and it is now very dificult to find those cute little animals at reasonable prices, just because people have become too greedy and obsesive.
- I hate greedy resalers who deny my child the opportunity to get her weekly Beanie by snatching up all beanies as they come in. We don't have a lot of stores that carry them and they can be hard to find, yet these greedy jerks ruin what should be fun for little kids
- I liked it when Beanies were readily available for purchase in gift shops. They made wonderful surprises for my daughter when my husband or I traveled. They were very small and easy to pack. Now you have to buy several when they are available, because you never know if you'll ever see them again. It also disgusts me when stores charge more than $5.00.
- I dislike that ty cut some stores off and refused to ship past orders even though they promised the retailers in writing they would honor those orders ,the stores should have some way of forcin ty to keep thier word and if ty was truely an hororable business men his word would mean something to him,I love beanies but I don't have any respect for mr.ty .
- I dislike that ty cut some stores off and refused to ship past orders even though they promised the retailers in writing they would honor those orders ,the stores should have some way of forcin ty to keep thier word and if ty was truely an hororable business men his word would mean something to him,I love beanies but I don't
- I think the retirement element adds a lot of fun. It really makes me angry when I hear of stores selling their stock out the back door to 2ndry markets.
- Beanies are very cute, and I am glad they made them.
- I think beanie babies are so cool!
- I don't like the stores upping the prices on them. I think they should how many you can buy instead
- Retailers should get more than 12 in their shipments on new beanies such as Princess and Erin
- I would also like to add that I have a 3 month old son that I am collecting for him like my father did with baseball cards for me.
- I hate when someone buys several of a beanie just to sell at a higher price to make money, then the little guys, children, and working class can not get one.
- I feel that it is terrible that greedy adults have driven the price of beanies up to the point that they are too expensive and hard to obtain for the children that enjoy them for what they are, a cuddlely toy.
- I believe the new ones are over priced
- I don't like the way some of the retailers treat the people who want to buy the beanie babies. Not all people are crazy people and when you go in a store sometimes they will lie and tell you they don't have any or they will talk about you when you come in to check. It seems to me that beanies are a easy sell for these retailers so they should treat the people who purchase them with a little more respect. If they don't want people coming in to buy them then they shouldn't sell them. Some retailers won'
even sell to children which is the craziest thing I have every heard. From what I've seen all the retailers seem to be raising the prizes of first time beanies which I was under the understanding that these babies were suposed to be affordable.
- I think it is alot of fun to search for the BB that I want. I wish I could predict on future trends!
- "The Beanie Trend" WILL last long. I wish they were found in more places.
- I need Libearty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think some people sell them way to high.
- I don't like the way the secondary market "steals" from our kids. I do not believe beanie babies belong in flea markets. I do not like the way some people are raising the price by using charities. I do like it when I can go in a store with a nice selectio
- I don't think it is fair that TY Inc. doesn't distribute many beanies, because then they are so hard to find, and people chage outragious prices.
- Tye-die beanies are the best!!!!!
- I LOVE BEANIES!
- Seeing yhe old ones all over in stores are turning people off ty should retire alot and begin making new ones
- I am so shocked my how popular they have become.
- I think the retailers who markup the prices for Princess should be dropped.
- The shortages of the new ones.
- I'm having the hardest time finding cheap retireds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I THINK IT IS TAKING TO LONG TO GET SOME OF THE BEANIES INTO THE RETAILERS HANDS, SUCH AS PRINCESS AND ERIN.
- My daughter and I share the Beanie Baby hobby, and we really have a wonderful time doing it!
- I wish they didn't make some the new ones so impossible to get. ie Erin, Princess and I wish all the bears were available in all countries.
- I like being a part of the phenomenon. It's fun. I dislike that the authorized retailers sell them for more than $5.00 each when that is what Ty wants them sold for and I want to buy them for. I hope though that all of the beanies don't come overly available to drive the secondary market price down. It's exciting to wait for retirees, but I don't really want to speculate who will retire next. I just want to be prepared by having at least 1 of every current one within my family.
- Beanies are great!!! It's just too bad that people forget that they are suppose to be fun and enjoyable for children and getting them is getting tougher and tougher!!!!!
- I think that authorized dealers should be allowed to set prices up to a ceiling. I am tired of talking and checking day after day just to find that when the beanies finally came in the retailer put $20 and up on each one! I mean, they still only pay $2.50 for each one! I would like to think that the beanie phenomenon will continue forever and it very well might. Retirements? It's really hard to say, but Blizzard is named after a frozen DQ treat and Pinky is getting rather long in the chops, so I g
ess I would pick these two.
- The new release bears(Princess, erin, etc.) are way too hard to find and the secondary market is much too greedy. How do you expect a child to pay upwards of 100-500$ for these new Beanies? This is supposed to be fun. . . Ty isn't helping by only releasing limited quantities of these items. Everyone should get a fair chance to get these.
- I strongly disliked the way Ty Warner used the Princess Di bear, first saying there would be plenty for everyone and THEN bringing out only 12 to so many dealers in the month of DECEMBER no less!!! He should feel very ashamed of himself to use his beanie baby fans and the death of a much loved lady for people to profit from. I know a lot of the princess bears were used for charity (hooray for all those GOOD retailers) but there were also plenty that were sold for $200 and up. Shame, Shame, Shame!!!
- I think that you should add to the survey: what beanies do you have? enclude all of the beanies
- People spend way to much money on a toy
- I really think a cute beanie would be a chit zu and it's name is Sasha.
- I predict that Gobbles the turkey,Batty the bat, and Spinner the spider will be the next 3 BB to retire .
- My mother, myself, my daughter and my granddaughter are all collecting. Anything that is 4 generational has to be terrific!
- i sure wish i could find erin (@ reg. price)!!!!!!!
- This is the first time anything I bought has made any money for me. I have been able to put a downpayment on a car and buy new clothes. I sell on eBay auction and I am having such a good time.
- I think that beanies babies are a lot of fun to collect. The retiring keeps it fun and exciting. Even if the worth does drop, they are still cute, and you can still get them for only 5 dollars, so it's not like a huge waste of money.
- I LOVE THEM
- I dislike the secondary market very much the aquire most of their beanies from people who have access to beanies (i.e. store clerks and owners).
- I wish they sold Beanies EVERYWHERE!
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- all regular retail stores selling beanies should limit people AND families to one of each beanie...the last shipment here had one lady walking off with all 5 Erins, another walked off with all 4 Valentinos
- ERIN BEANIE RULES!
- all regular retail stores selling beanies should limit people AND families to one of each beanie...the last shipment here had one lady walking off with all 5 Erins, another walked off with all 4 Valentinos
- Prices should be fixed at no more than $5.00 for beanies.
- Dislike secondary market. It makes it hard for collectors to obtain wanted beanies at reasonable prices.
- It's too bad that what started out as a children's collectible has now turned into a greedy enterprise. For those of us who cannot afford hundreds of dollars, we are deprived of owning a Princess or an Erin.
- I think it's pretty sorry that some retailers seem to never get the much sought after beanies. Also, how can secondary market people sell "original bag of 12 beanies." How does this happen
- they should put fair prices so kids like me can afford them
- I would like to say that Beanies are great. It's a fun hobby which brings smiles to the faces of all. However, I am distraught over the ridiculous prices that I have paid to keep my childrens collection current. I love to purchase beanies to give for gifts or just giveaway! I am so happy when I see the smiles on faces young and old when they have their very own beanie. I would like to know why the retailers are not putting various beanies on the shelves, but yet they are "in the back room" or "be
ind a counter"being sold "on consignment" for someone else. It amazes me that since the Peace bear came out, I have not seen it on the shelves of several stores, but only in secondary showcases..Seems funny to me! I have found that it is best that I do not take my children with me to get beanies as they are left disappointed when they are told they can't have a beanie because it is $14.99 . That is the rate in which the new releases are being priced for starters! So much for rewarding my kids with a
new one! We'll have to wait or start collecting something else! Thank you, anonymous WISCONSIN
- i like them because of the size they don`t take up much space
- I don't like that TY only sends 12 new bears to each retailer. This makes it difficult not only on the public, but the retailers as well.
- Ty retailers who purchase the item for approximately $2.65 have no sense of morality selling the item for $150 or more. Secondary market sellers are tainted because of the greediness of the primary ty vendors.
- I don't like thae fact that I cannot buy a Princess at reasonable price.
- I am becoming disenchanted as I see store employees walk away with the "htf" beanies. No wonder they are so hard to find. It's really not fair to regular collectors, because those store employees go and sell "htf's" on the secondary market. :(
- I think things started heating up around Christmas!
- Please do these survays more offten.
- Add to your questions : If you wanted to stop buying beanie babies could you? yes or no
- i would like to obtain information on becoming TY direct. i have a collectible shop for adults. their kids need a place to do their own shopping. currently i am selling my own beanies as inexpensively as i can to children ONLY. as a matter of fact "KIDS ONLY" is even decorated and priced for kids. ABSOLUTELY NO ADULTS ar permitted in the shop for kids. i really am having a hard time keeping the price under $10.00 for any purchase made in KIDS ONLY. AND for the record we purchased a FAKE PEKING
to display so people will be aware of what to look for.
- dislike the secondary market
- What I don't like is that retailers are keeping the hard to find ones for their families and/or employees and not giving beanie collectors a chance.
- I hate that people are ripping off children.
- Beanies are fun
- I AGREE THAT SOME SECONDARY RETAILERS ARE PRICING BEANIES OUT OF REACH
- I wish Ty would send 100 of each of the new beanies to retailers each time they add one. Maybe this would discourage the greediness.
- I do NOT like the way TY encourages these high secondary prices when they release a new beanie such as Peace, Erin, Princess, etc. Why don't they flood the market with the beanie and thus discourage the high prices that children can't pay. After all, didn't TY say that the beanies were to be a collectible for children? Then why do they encourage these high prices, that children can't pay, by releasing limited numbers at a slow pace and driving the prices sky high by greedy sellers and buyers. It br
ke my heart the day I watched a mother purchase an Erin bear for a ridiculous price and when the daughter of about 9 years ask if it was for her and the mother's response was, "NO! This is mine, you are to keep your hands off!" and then looks at the other people in the store and laughs. TY is to blame for this, if they had flooded the market with the beanie the little girl would have her own beanie , and her mother wouldn't have to worry about her daughter touching her precious beanie. Come on TY, stop
ncouraging the greedy people and get back to your original plan....a collectible that children can afford AND find!!
- I love beanie babies, and I have been collecting them from the beginning. This lets me own many old beanies, worth thousands. But I'm not interestied in the money--they're fun! They're cute! They're not economical!!!!! THEY'RE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Would like to know what is keeping it going...
- would like to see more new designs produced
- My 5 children and I are collecting beanies for enjoyment (not financial gain) and I find it rediculous that we are unable to obtain certain currents for the intended $4.99 rather than the absurd after-market prices of $100-$300. Unfortunately, I'm afraid this means my children will never even see some of those beanies. I wish the after-marketers weren't so greedy.

- I feel that some of this has gotten out of hand because it is impossible to get some beanies for $5 and how do you explain to a child that you are not willing to pay $50 or $250 for something they really want.
- The general public should be able to purchase Beanie Babies, esp. kids. The secondary market is rather rediculous price wise.
- Bones will retire soooooooooooooooooooon
- I only have three or four BB's, but I am looking to get more. were can I get them for cheap. please call me at 594-7509 my name is Tess and I'm 14 years old.
- I would like you to sell them to people that go to the marts and see them in a window and order them because my mom has gone there and wouldn't let her get any.

- counterfeit beanies are becoming to big of a problem. Buyers should be careful of fake beans.
- I would like to see better quality control so that there is fewer variations in each BB on the market. This is the only real collecting I have ever done in my life, and I have really enjoyed the hunt for the next BB. I have found in my travels that sometime a dealer will sell the lates BB at $10. but the BB that have been issued in past years are priced like secondary market although they have generation 5 tags. Dec 97 when the Princess came out retailers were either auctioning them for charities or
charging a fortune for them. The one that I purchased was $450. and am sure the store got the profit.
- It truly bothers me to have people selling current BB for outrageous prices, like "Peace" for $75 to $100. We have vowed not to pay over $10 for a BB and we have all the currents (except Princess and Erin) and 12 retireds that were all purchased for <$10. I like that Ty keeps retiring and bringing out new ones - that is what should raise the value of BB, not "scalping" - and we regret not getting into it sooner so that we could have more retireds before they retired! It helps to know a few dealers p
rsonally! (But that doesn't help with retireds!)
- It's too hard to purchase them for children
- People must remember this is FUN and sould be kept in perspictive. Also TY has a very BIG responsibility to the little guy, both the small STORE owner and the KIDS like my God-Daughter Elizabith(12), my Nephue Kevin(10), and my Son John(10). Thank You annd God Bless, John A. Morgan (732) 541-4572
- I love beanie babies
- I think they should make: Polly the Parott, DATE OF BIRTH: 2-15-98. Polly the parott likes crackers, no doubt, that's what all the beanies at ty are talking about. Some say Polly and Quackers are a perfect pair, the sound of,"Polly wanna cracker?" ringing in the air.
- I don't like the way that the new ones are so difficult to find. I also think that retailers should not be able to sell the Beanies for outrageous prices. They shouldn't be permitted to make such high profit.
- I think Beanies are one of the biggest crazes ever! I really feel that some secondary market retailers are very greedy. Some authorized TY retailers are even selling beanies making over 20 dollars profit! That is so wrong! I wish beanie collecting was alot less greedy. But you can find some great dealers out there. Happy beanie hunting to all!
- Many stores on the primary market are hiding the 'new' beanies behind the counter for specific customers. This is wrong. Also stores like Bulky's are charging double for the new or retired beanies. There ought to be limits on primary pricing. These were intended for children.
- ty should retire beanies about 4 times a year and offer new ones at the same time.
- It bothers me that I can't purchase some of the Canadian b.b. or even from the U.K. It was bothersome to me when I heard that Canadian customs is actually wasting time to prevent Maples I.E. from crossing the border. I think their time and moneys should be spent on bigger and better thhings. The one other thing that bothers me is the effort of Ty to make money on things like Princess Di's death and now the death of Harry Carry. I wonder if they will come out with beanie babies that will have to do
ith "Zippergate".
- I would like to see more contests to win Beanie Babies
- Beanies are wonderful - keep them coming!!!
- I am a new Ty retailer and got hooked by my customer's enthusiasm. It has been frustrating waiting for shipments that seem to take several months to appear, but the have been honoring all of the Princess backorders, and they have all shown up. I feel tha
- I never really knew how much I love Beanie Baby collecting! I tried not to get caught up in it but it got me anyway. But unfortunately I missed the now much sought after older retireds. Just keep making these loveable little creatures!
- i don't think it's fair that retail stores are purchasing most of these and selling them to us the consumer for outrageous prices. i am happy to say that nordstroms sells them for $4.99.
- I do not like that when new babies are available I have such trouble purchasing the new babies--I cannot stand in a line for hours to wait for a number to then stand in another line to actually purchase the item. If a new set is being offered please tell TY to send enough so that the retailers do not have to restrict to the extent that they do the ability of the average mom to buy the toys for her children. It is very discouraging to check the TY web page and see a Beanie that my children want and no
be able to easily obtain one.
- I really like collecting Beanies because of the hunt. It is very frustrating when authorized Ty dealers say that they will not sell Princess and Erin and Peace for their regular prices when they paid Ty their regular cost. I also wish that Ty would make enough of the hard to get current beanies to get rid of the greed......My children love playing with their beanies but don't understand why they can't get the bears....It is sad when children who they beanies were made for can get them.
- I HAVE A STORE IN TEXAS AND WE SELL THE BABIES FOR 6.50 AND THAT COVERS ALL OF THEM, HOWEVER SOME OF OUR CUSTOMERS ARE RUDE AS CAN BE. MY WIFE WAS SLAPPED FOR TELLING A FLEA MKT. DEALER SHE COULD ONLY BUY ONE OF EACH STYLE. I TRIED TO GIVE A PRINCESS TO A LITTLE HANDICAPPED GIRL AND HER MOTHER SCREAMED AT ME THAT SHE WANTED NO CHARITY. OUR UPS MAN WAS KNOCKED DOWN BY SOME WOMEN THAT FOLLOWED THE TRUCK AND SAW HIM UNLOAD 16 BOXES.EVERYBODY NEEDS TO BE A LITTLE NICER AND MAKE LIVING WORTHWHILE.
- I'm wondering why there are tag errors on Curly, colored bunnies, Peace, and Valentino. I believe these are a few that will retire next. Is Ty letting us know putting these mistakes on the tags?
- RETAILERS NEED TO MAKE A PROFIT BUT TOO MANY OF THEM ARE LYING TO PEOPLE, AS WELL AS CHARGING WAY TOO MUCH.
- don't like that stores never have new ones in stock get tired of looking and looking.
- I don't like that the retailers are charging more for the newer ones than all the others. They should all be the same price if they are not retired.
- just hope it last a long time!!!
- I hate retailers who overcharge in their stores
- I hate the way retailers take advantage of beanie collectors.....they charge too much...over $7.00.....they are often mean and rude
- I wish more stores put Beanies out on weekends. Most put them out during the week while I'm at work, so I get the leftovers. To get anything good anymore, I usually have to buy from a store at higher prices or from the flea market or antique/collectible mall. I predict the Beanie Craze will last for two more years.
- unethical dealers
- Retailers in this area are holding beanies to see what the highest price they can get for them.
- THERE ARE ALWAYS THOSE WHO SPOIL IT FOR OTHERS.....GREED...MISINFORMATION BY SELLERS, AUTHORIZED AND SECONDARY MARKET. ONE MUST BE CAREFUL...IT'S A SHAME THAT PEOPLE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OTHERS. BEANIE BABIES BRING JOY TO ONE'S HEART AND A SMILE TO EVERY FACE. DON'T LET GREED DESTROY THE "WONDER" AND "MYSTIC" OF THE BEANIE BABIES....
- The secondary market/speculation stinks, takes the fun out of it for the rest of us. My 7 and 4 year old love to play with them, and I enjoy them too. My son wants ty to do a tapir or okapi.
- I don't agree with selling the Princess Bear for any other reason except for donating the money to charity. I don't agree with paying $300.00 to a personal seller when the money would be better spent in a charity foundation, to help the needy.
- I think some authorized dealers are selling out of garages and no there store fronts which makes it hard on people whom collect
- too much emphasis put on a crease in tags..I had to argue with a woman in my newest "secret" gift shop about giving me one without a crease..it was almost like the kids behind the desk folded them on purpose!I think the tie dyed ones are going to be worth the most, and also any bears or dogs. What I do not understand is the tags being all wrong..didn't even know I had purchased the Rainbow cuz he says iggy on both tags!
- retirements
- something should be done to keep the prices down.
- Beanies are like the stock market
- i would like the collectors to back off
- I really enjoy Beanie Babie, I just hope they can keep coming up with new animals and designs!
- I'd like to see a beanie baby Raven
- i think the market is out of control ans it is starting to take the fun out of a grown-ups "childish pleasure" it is making me very sad! i wish ty would take control of their own empire!
- make a polar bear named poly
- I'm having soooo much fun. I feel 12 yrs old again.
- I don't like retailers marking up the price on princess.
- would like to see more information available on the collector series, which i also collect
- I would like to know why none of the stores around here ever have the Peace bear, Princess or Erin. Everyone has them for sale on the secondary market for $250. One store - B & J coins sent letters to all the stores around here offering $100 for each Princess, all most all stores sold them to him and then he had them for $300. This is not right. My grand children love these beanies and I have to buy them on the secondary market at much higher prices. Also, some stores make you buy two old beanies
n order to buy a more popular one. This is not right. One other thought, why does Ty make beanies you can only get in other countries? This just makes the prices higher and higher. Thank you for listening.
- THE TY COMPANY IS MAKING ABSOLUTLEY ILL!!! BEANIE BABIES ARE CHILDRENS' TOYS FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! TY NEEDS TO BE INFORMED THAT THEY ARE BREAKING CHILDREN'S HEARTS AND PARENTS' TOO WHEN THE PARENT HAS TO TELL THE CHILD THAT THEY CANNOT ADD THE LATEST BEANIE TO THEIR COLLECTION. WHEN THEY DO THIS CRAP ABOUT "LIMITED EDITION" BEANIE BABIES. I AM JUST ILL!!!!!!!!!COMMENTS? E-MAIL ME @ SKYLERTJKM@JUNO.COM.....SOMETHING MUST BE DONE.
- I see way too many Snort's around and no Princesses. I think that TY should stop making Snort (for a while) and start mass producing Princess. That way everyone could get a Princess.
- i started with bucky for my daughter as a fad for school.in thing at the time.i was given flip as a gift..and its all beanie history for this family.now im up between 150 to 200+ heaven help me.they are fun to "amass".dislike very much to see beanie retailers keeping any and all number one beanies at any given time.then selling them on consignment at way to expensive and unattainable prices.and its being done all over.other than that its beanie baby heaven.
- It's very upsetting to me that adults interested in resale acquire more beanies than kids who want them as a toy.

- I,m disappointed that only the dealers and friends and relatives get the new bears Princess and Erin and Brittania before some of us. I,d Like to purchase them at a reasonable price and have them available for us and not just the rich.
- I hope TY will really make Princess andErin available for every one
- I also think that they should retire Princess so that is does not become "popular"
- need more stable ty deliveries
- They are very hard to find
- I think the beanie faze is going to crash soon, It's unbelievable that the lines are still long and prices are sky high.. I hate the idea of Hallmark stores selling beanies for more money when they themselves paid the small amount at purchase. But I guess if I had to put up with all the beanies faniacs I'd increase prices also.. They are all so cute...
- I want a new beanie baby named HeeHee the Hyena with its birthday on April Fool's day. Hyena laugh and that would make sense.
- i could write a book, but my major comment is how retailers treat beanie shoppers like second class citizens.....if i could have a product to sell that i would be guaranteed to sell out of every order, i would be greeting my customers a the door with a smile on my face and thanking them for patronizing my store.....instead retailers make you stand in line, open their stores late, lie to you about what they have available and hold silent auctions and raffles on beanies like princess and erin, when you w
re on a waiting list and promised one.....then you get there and they tell you they decided not to sell them but instead they will hold a silent auction. there are three retailers in my area that i will never shop at again because of those practices.......and i have been tempted to turn them in to ty corporation.....although i have a children's party business and extensive office space and was thinking of opening up a small gift shop and would like to become a ty retailer.........but so far they are not t
king on any new accounts........but i ramble on........the point is these retailers have a wonderful product that brings people into their stores that may not otherwise have had so much consumer traffic.....they should be thankful......beanie collector's don't mind spending money.......and i tend to spend money on other things at the retailers who treat me with respect when i shop for beanies.....
- I wish current new beanies were so difficult to purchase.
- It is very discouraging to see the same people at the head of the line every time there is a beanie babies sale. They always get the new ones or the hard to find ones and then raise the price way up and resell them. People who work every day from 7:45 a.m. have almost no chance of getting the new/rare stuff.
- I wish that they were more available to the children who collect them. The secondary market drives the price up and also makes it harder for children who are collectors because you have people who hoard all of the more desirable beanies. I wish that you could order directly from TY. The retailers complain about the beanie moms who bother them with their calls yet promote this hysteria by not always being honest about the beanies they have on hand. The reason the beanies have become so popular is ma
y people see it as a good way to make a quick buck.
- i wish that retailers wouldn't keep marking up peace the bear when they are able to order ample quantities and are only paying 2.50 for them. I would love to have one, but am not going to pay $30 for a current beanie that is still being shipped!
- Beanies are great way to go Ty!!!!!
- I am not happy that TY aids in the inability to get Beanies on demand because of the way they market this product. If a 4 year old wants a Bear named "Erin" she should be able to have one without having her mother scour the free world. It is just not right. What if it were their child who wanted one? Do you honestly think they would be for all this hype/inavailability?
- I think dealers selling beanies for more than the suggested retail price is crazy. If they carry current beanies on a regular basis then they should not be allowed to sell the newest, hardest to find and the current retired beanies that they just happen to receive in for the outrageous prices. I enjoy beanie hunting with my daughters but I do not like when beanies, such as Peace, Princess, and Erin are so limited that it is nearly impossible to find. Of course this is what makes them so collectible.
I would like to see a chipmunk made. I think that it could be made very very cute, with the name cheeks.
- they should make lab. retrievers, yel, choc, blk

- I regret that adults have inflated the prices of certain beanie babies to the point that a child can't acquire one that she loves for a birthday. But if someone offers them at a good price, secondary dealers snatch them up and the child still can't get one.
- Beanie babies are okay but the way people are selling them for sucha high amount of money is rediculis. People should think about the little kids before they go out and sell their Erin and Princess for $100-400.
- Thank you for the great site, and for asking. I am so mad! Ty is shipping 36 each of Erin and Princess, yet we are not seeing them here. I see them for sale BY THE DOZEN on the I-net, gosh, I wonder where they are coming from? I am getting very discouraged by the whole thing. I wish I could write to Ty. I also know of a couple of Great stores who love their customers and don't CHEAT them! I wish that I could tell Ty about them, too, but I don't know where to write. THANKS for listening! Ellen at: ellen
reelfoods@webtv.net
- They're adorable!!! However, they are getting extremely expensive on the secondary market. I wish I could afford them all!!! I especially like the Mc Donald's teenie beanies.
- give me all the retired ones please
- I like the idea of princess being limited at first to create a higher price for charities but I hope this is not a trend with the new ones (like Erin) because it is nearly impossible for those of us who want to keep it cheeper for our collection and our children's. I think it is frustrating to the children who really want these new bears to see the prices and know that it will be impossible to get them.
- If Ty Warner truly wishes to be philanthropic and contribute to to the Princess of Wales Fund, the release of the Beanie should not have been so limited. Princess primarily lined the pockets of seconcary merchants, and frustrated many, many collectors.
- I like them very much(and for One twelve year old girl 105 is quite a few!)
- I think that the really hard to find ones should come back out currently for a limited time, like one month. I would kill for the Cranberry Bear!!
- I would like my daughter to be able to find what she wants without adults trying to buy them all up.
- I just feel that when ty releases beanies such as princess and erin, they should release them as they do the others so everyone has a chance at them, not this 12 per store and they only get them once every 3 months or so!!!!

- Ithink ty should let retailers order more bears, all of them go to the resellers and the average joe out there can't ever get them. I just want one for my collection and I have to compete with all the resellers who already have several. They have several I have none.
- I think that TY should make a special Brown Teddy with the UPS logo on its chest and only offer it to and through UPS for all of those guys and gals who transport our friends to us! Without them, well, they deserve the recognition. A personal note: None of my family or friends work for UPS. Thanks Michelle Brown Cavnhobbes@aol.com
- I like beanies but I think it's getting way out of hand; And all of the prices.
- I'm amazed at the phenom. I never imagined such a craze over stuffed animals.
- I'm pretty much disgusted with how obnoxious this craziness has gotten. I started to collect these because they were cute and I thought they'd be fun for when I have children. It's gotten so I don't even want to bother anymore collecting them. I used to be able to buy them without any hassles at a price of $5. Now it's like a battle to even purchase them that it turns me off! It's taken all the fun out of collecting! I was never in it to make a profit and I never will be because all I see is gree
. We're talking about stuffed animals for God's sake!
- I think it is terrible some of the prices that are out there for a $5.00 beanie. I refuse to pay exhorbitant prices!
- I would love to see more fish styles
- Wish more Princess Di Bears would come available
- I like them all!
- let the Beanies get to us before the retailers pull them to resell at a higher rate
- Dislike the fact that it is hard to find the beanie babie your son wants.
- WISH WE COULD GET INFORMATION QUICKER ON NEW AND RETIREDS
- I feel that next year Erin will be like Peace or Valentino, not like Princess in availability & price.
- I enjoy collecting them for my 2 girls but I find it hard to pay some of the high prices that people are asking for the new ones like princess, erin and the not retired yet maple. thank you
- i i love Beanies. Keep making new ones.

- Since the Holiday beanies came out last fall, the local stores in New York City keep all the new releases on counters behind the cash register and charge $12 to $15 for them - forever. They get annoyed if you don't like the one THEY choose for you and you are holding up the line while you are selecting them. The retailers should put them out on the shelves like the rest of the Beanies so that you can choose the ones you want yourself at your leisure. These stores are still charging $20-$30 for Peace
and they are charging $200 for Princess, which I suspect goes into their pockets instead of to charity.
- more dogs are needed-so everyone can get a BB of their own dog, collie, rottie, maltese, etc.
- I don't like when retailer stores announce a shipment. I think its better when you walk in and they have them or you call and they tell you, yes they have them. I hate waiting in line for hours and then find out they don't have what I want.
- Stores should only be able to sell them for $5. Afterall, Ty Warner started them for the kids. Kids don't understand why you look all over for Rainbow and find it for $20 and still don't buy it for them. Let them sell only the retired ones or more then $5-7.
- dislike the high secondary prices.
- Unfair the way retailers are holding on to Erin and going to sell themselves for whatever the price. This is going to upset people and will stop buying beanies. I have collected Barbie for years and always had a chance to buy a new one when they come on the market. I haven't even seen the Erin bear and the price is up there. That is wrong. If this is going to be a ongoing tactic of Ty I will not continue my quest for beanies.
- Yes, I think Princess, Erin and Britinna are way to expensive and should only sale for no more than 50.00. The brand new ones should only sell for 6.00 at the shows and flea markets. I am abouletly outraged by these prices! These should have a demand to lower all their prices. If people don't buy the high price ones, then maybe the dealers will lower their prices.
- I think it is a fad and won't last.
- I dislike the difficulty in finding the new releases, especially Princess and Erin. They're almost impossible to find, and when you do, the price asked is outrageous!
- It's sad that I can't just go out and buy my children a $5 beanie. I usually have to give at least $10 to $15. This is not right. Those of us who are not out to make a buck ought to be able to walk in a store and buy them at the price they were meant to be. Thanks to the secondary market you can't do that any longer. I would also like to see TY come out with a Buffalo Beanie. Sounds funny, but my husband likes Buffalo! I think that would be a neat addition to the collection!
- I wish that more people (myself included) had a chance to get popular Beanies such as Princess & Erin before they go through the roof at retailers (who get them from Ty directly and sell them for hundreds) and the secondary market. I don't think anyone sh

- yes
- Ty Dealers should not be allowed to sell entire shipments to secondary dealers. Secondary dealers should have to stand in line like everyone else. I know of several stores whose entire shipment of both Princess and Erin have been sold to secondary dealers!!
- my kids & I love going & finding them. Its great family fun and I get to spend more time with my kids!
- I dont agree with the way retailers have friend lists in which they call and let them have first choice. Also many places which are the small business resell them for there own benefit like the Princess and Erin bears. It is not proper business but I guess everyone is in it for themselves!
- I HATE THAT WE HAVE ACTED LIKE ANIMALS TO GET BEANIES OUT HERE THE LAW HAS BEEN CALLED IN I THINK THIS IS WRONG WHAT ARE WE SHOWING ARE KIDS. TY SHOULD MAKE IT FUN LIKE IT WAS WHERE YOU COULD A BEANIE IF YOU LOOKED NOT FIGHT FOR OR PAY SOME PRICE THAT WE CAN'T AFFORD OR HAVE A CHILD LOOK AT US LIKE WE ARE MEAN BECAUSE WE WON'T OR CAN'T PAY THE BIG BUCKS. IAM STILL LOOKING FOR ERIN BUT I WON'T PAY $200.00 . THANK YOU CHRIS
- beanies were fun when you could find them in stores. I hate the attitudes of retailers and secondary market people just trying to gouge customers
- The stores here in my area are making it very hard to purchase new beanies that come out. They sale them for way more than the normal $5.00 going rate or they make you buy 5 old ones to get one new one, or spend x amount of dollars on merchandise to purchase one. This is bad for those of us who have all the old ones. I really don't understand why people pay so much. I have purchased one myself for $190.00, but only because I had it sold for $250.00. Yes, I have started selling some of mine. I hav
paid off for all the ones I have purchased and even saved enough money for our family vacation to Disney this year. Hey, I figure, it people will pay these ridiculous prices, then I'll buy and sale! People are making money right and left off a $2.00 stuffed toy, even places and pages on the net. Those charging for people to advertise or list that they are wanting to buy or sell. EVERYONE'S in this for a buck. EVERYONE!
- Personally, I am pretty disppointed. I have two daughters (ages 8 and 6) and they have been pushed away so greedy "collectors" can their "treasures". We are turning away from Beanies and looking for "safer" things to collect. It was a lesson for my daughters that I wish they didn't have to have. My mother has been buying Beanies for us for many years and if it weren't for her - we wouldn't be getting any more of them because I will NOT buy any more of them!!!
- I do not like Retail stores LYING about Getting Beanies
- I wish that the new releases were limited to a price range of between $5-$7 instead of being as high as $100-$400 as soon as they are released. Retireds I can understand being high priced, but new releases, it's not fair.
- I think that TY will make another retirement prior to spring. Here in the northern Detroit, MI, area there are stores that have had common sitting on their store shelves since January - everyday!! Once he notices the orders decrease, he will need to get everyone in motion again. I love beanies, what I do not like is that the stores that do receive the HTF's are selling them at extremely high prices where children do not even have a chance to purchase them (i.e. Princess and Erin for $200). I can un
erstand lotteries but as much as I love these things, I cannot buy each nephew one beanie at $200 a piece. My wish is for TY to gain some type of control over these stores who are selling them out the back door - I can give a list of at least 10 stores in my area who are in fact doing this. But on the other hand, I think TY is also thriving over this type of activity because it creates more demand. So I ask myself, does he even really care as long as he is making his cash??
- My daughter and I really enjoy collecting beanie babies. It is alot of fun. We wish, though, that the prices for current ones like Princess and Erin would not be so high. We can't get them and it is very frustrating. We are now also enjoying collecting Ty Plush. We predict that market will take off soon, so we are getting as many retired as we can. You can still find retired plush at retail prices and they are beautiful.
- I enjoy the excitment and fun that people in general are having with the collection of Beanie Babies
- I don't like dealers holding out on their stock to sell in the secondary market.
- I think the secondary price is taking the fun away for the kids who really enjoy the collection and can not find beanies in the stores anymore because of people that are buying for an investment instead of enjoyment. My grandchildren just love them and receive one for good deeds and now it is getting harder and harder to buy the one they want.
- I was in a store on 3/4/98 called Cogers Farm on Market street in Saddlebrook N.J.. They had many of the new ones but they said they didn't get any Princess or Erin. Knowing them as I do I could tell that they were not being honest. I dont blame the workers because they are told by the owners to lie. They are put in very difficult positions. They are obviously uncomfortable doing this. The owners are selling the beanies at the inflated secondary market prices. They are not selling them in there store.A
ter leaving there I went to the Hallmark also on the same block in that town and they said they didn't get any of these bears either. This was at 12.30 pm . When I returned home I recieved a call from my sister , she said she was at that Hallmark and seen them get two TY boxes at 10.30 that morning. They definately lied to me so I guess they are doing the same thing as Cogers . I think that these people should have their contracts with TY severed. What they are doing is not only unfair but unethical. If I
as Hallmark I would be appalled at this type of behavier. Its giving Hallmark a bad name. Its hard enough trying to get them as it is. This type of practice makes it impossiable.
- I don't understand how new beanies like Princess and Erin and now Britannia end up in the hands of secondary dealers in quantities (frequently still in the original bags of 12) without ever hitting the retail market. I have personally been approached by retailers offering to sell me entire unopened bags and even boxes of beanies and i find it disgusting and disappointing and I will not return to those retailers even though i know i could make a decent profit by taking them up on their offer. So many
have lost sight of the reason that Ty is producing beanies -- an inexpensive collectible for children that makes a great adult collectible also when retailers put them to the market as they should. I realize that Ty can not legally price fix his retailers, but i certainly think he can and should drop retailers that sell direct to secondary, those that take their own product direct to the secondary market and those that use a "reservation" system to hold beanies for customers and then charge $15 for the a
ministrative costs of the reservation in addition to the cost of the beanie.
- getting to greedy, don't like some of the prices, not fair to people like me who don't have much
- I am really angry with the greedy retailers who have ruined the whole beanie experience for the children. How many kids can afford to pay $250-$350 for a beanie baby?
- I dislike retailers selling the 10 new beanies for $21.95 and up.
- Prices for retireds are ridiculously high, I will never be able to complete my Jan. & May '97 retireds. I only need 7 more. Theres no way I can pay those prices and most don't want to trade.
- erin and princess will retire very soon!
- My children are collecting beeanie babies for fun and value. They are a 9 year old boy who makes gifts for his beanie babies and my 11 year old girl who has birthday parties for them. I wish I could explain to them why current ones such as Princess are unatainable ... or if it really is unatainable. There is no where one can go that I know of and find out if something is truely a highly limited edition. I think it is the unknown part of this that is so hard. I also have talked to people selling them i
the newspaper who say that shop owners are giving them to them to sell so they can sell at a greater profit. I have also heard people discussing how a shopowner friend of theirs kept all the princess ones for themselves. There are 2 stores in my area that are fair (maybe not perfect, but fair) . One is Patton's Drug Store on Montana in Santa Monica, Ca. 90402 and the other is Drugtown on 7th St. and Montana in Santa Monica, Ca. 90402 - Patton's only sells one to each child or adult if they are hard to get
and Drugtown is starting to do the same ,
- The "professional" Beanie Baby collectors get all the new or rare ones because they bug the dickens out of the retailers to get UPS info., and they make it very difficult for collectors who work for a living.
- I'd like Princess and Erin to come out in droves!!!
- I think Ty Warner is a marketing genius. However, I believe his concept of producing an affordable product for children to buy with their own hard-earned money is being destroyed by greedy retailers.
- Love the Beanies--the thrill is in the HUNT!!
- None really, I wish some of the very old beanies were more available at more resonable prices. I hope Beanie Craze will last forever.
- I do not like how people have got this so out of hand that a toy that was maded for kids, they can not afford to buy !
- I think TY should regulate retailers to sell BB for the manufacturers suggested retail price. These retailers are getting way too greedy. I mean Peace (a current BB) for between $25 - $50...that's appalling!!!
- Reselling is what makes these guys an investment. Resellers pay the asking price from the retailers so why do the retailers dislike the resellers? this is called free enterprise. This is what America is all about.
- Secondary dealers prices are out of hand.
- I sure wished that I never started this, because now I am HOOKED!
- I sure wished that I never started this, because now I am HOOKED!
- I dont like the fact that retailer can sell the hot beanies "out the back door" and the average "joe" like me has no chance at it.
- I dislike the way some merchants handle the selling of the beanies, i.e., post rules then change rules at sell time; clerks who cram beanies in bags without even letting you see what you are purchasing, destroying tags in process. I walk away from agressive crowds who are that way because stores will only sell beanies on certain days, thereby creating "flurries" of long lines starting at the wee hours of the morning!
- I think Ty Warner is a very smart man!!!!
- LIKE TO GET RID OF DEALERS THAT ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF.
- I like the variety of toys...I strongly dislike the greed displayed on the secondary market.
- I hate the beanie babie lotteries. Its more money for the retailers
- I'm disappointed in the way Ty is not able to keep up with the deliveries of their new releases, especially Princess. I'm VERY disappointed in the fact that this was to raise funds for her charities and with the secondary market and the charity raffles, I don't see much going to "her" charities. I also don't like the frustration that this has put on the retailers. I don't like the change of tone I get as soon as I call our local shops and ask for "beanies". Ty needs to either rethink their marketin
strategy or give more people work to do and produce MORE BEANIES!!
- Beanies are nothing less than a phenomenon. It has become an adult addiction instead of a child's joy, which I am as guilty as the next adult involved in the addiction cycle. I wish they were more available to children. I am upset with the way retailers have become secondary marketers. There are only a few places left that are $5 Beanie retailers. I try to honor those stores. The Princess Bear is a farce. The monies made on her will never see the foundation. I believe Ty was very wrong to relea
e a xingle Princess Bear until millions were ready to go out, so that everyone could feel like they were giving to the fund, rather than a lot of people's pocketbooks. There seems to be no end to the phenomenon. I hope TY DOES NOT sell out to another company, especially Disney!!! We love to see new Beanies come out, and we love to search for them. We have made wonderful trades, and gotten old Beanies for our collection. It has been a fun activity for our family! Thanks for doing this survey!
- it's too expensive for a teen.......i can't afford bears like erin or princess
- the lies told to you from ty distributors the most
- I would like it to be easier to find out which ones have retired
- I have never had so much fun with collecting. They are the most addorable toy on the market today. It's like an obbsession. They need to make more Erin and Brittannia. Those are next on my list.
- I hate the stores are supposed to sell beanies for 5.00, but diuble the asking price.
- I wish there was a site that you could go to and find up to date news. My family enjoys going on beanie baby excursions. I can't image we would ever resell them - however we do have several duplicates of ones we think might retire soon.
- My dad helped me do this survey. I look but he buys. Iam a lucky kid!
- It's a wonderful project that you end up getting the whole family involved in. My husband surprises me with them as well as my son keeping up on the newest beanies available.
- I hate to see no limit on how many beanies a person or family can buy. I have seen "dealers" come into stores with no limit and scoop up armloads of new and old ones.
- HOW MUCH MORE OR LESS IS MY MISS-MARKED CHIP WORTH (his hang tag says chip and his tush tag says CUBBIE E-Mail me with your answer at nike_girl_4@hotmail.com)
- tell us about good secondary market stores -- what to look for to be treated fairly
- I am a grandmother who got carried away with beanies.
- I'm chosing to buy Beanie Babies before paying my bills, that's a scary thought.
- Ithink they are here to stay, they are fun to collect
- I love beanie babies! I buy them for everyone who has a birthday. The only thing I don't really like is retailer who charge $40 to $50 for current or new retired B.B. Otherwise thank you TY for all those Beanies!!!!!
- They are to hard for children to collect with all of the adults buying them in bult to resale!
- I think beanies are rgeat, but they will all drop in value one day, so sell them while they are at their peak!
- I THINK BEANIES ARE BEING SOLD ON PRICES TOO HIGH BECAUSE THE PRICES ON THE HIGHEST PRICED BEANIES ARE GOING TO DROP AND PEOPLE WOULD HAVE BETTER BUSINESS IF THEY ACTUALLY SOLD ALL BEANIES AT REASONABLE PRICES THAT PARENTS AND CHILDREN CAN ACTUALLY AFFORD! I LOVE QUACKERS AND MAGIC!
- Ilikebeanie
- I like the fact that they are easy to collect and kind of easy to find, but I don't like the fact that you can't even get Erin anywhere, I mean come on: Where do these people get duplicates of beanies to sell?
- it makes me very mad when a retailer can sell beanies for $50. when they first come out...
- Stores charge too much for the new beanies or the hard to find beanies! They should only sell beanies for $5-$6. Ty should make more bears so they are easier to get.
- Dislike: Retailers who never put their beanies out for sale to the public, instead offering them privately to a select list of buyers for the "highest bid". Also some retailers in my area follow the "internet prices" and that's what they sell their new beanies for. Once a branie retires, it's price is increased by $20-$25. Many of the stores in my area never put a 97 Teddy on their shelves and now they seem to have plenty of them for sale at $25.00. I think beanies are no longer "fun for the kids" or
hobby - it's stictly business and a not a very nice business either. I have met more greedy, cut throat collectors and business owners than I care to.
- I WOULD TO SEE ONE ABOUT A WHITETAIL DEER.
- I wonder if the total production of the new Jan. releases is only 250,000 and why? I hope Erin comes down in price.
- I think that Beanie Babies were made for CHILDREN of all ages to have and play with. I think some prices on a couple Beanies I saw were terrible! Some people are sooooo greedy. I want Erin really badly because I am Irish and I really like all the Teddy Bears!
- drawings make it extremely hard to purchase certain ones, such as Erin
- I've only been collecting beanie babies for a little over 3 months. For the most part I've been enjoying it. Except lately, I am getting extremely sick and tired of the greedyness I see. I have been unsuccessful to purchase any of the new releases - a secondary dealer is selling them for $20 a piece. This kind of thing takes the whole fun out of enjoying the beanies. They are cute and adorable and everyone should have the opportunity to purchase them freely, without having to spend an arm and a le
for them.
- Prices should only go up because of supply and demand, not because store owners are getting greedy!!
- They should be lower priced!!!! About 3-7 for current 10-20 new or retired!!
- Dislike: Retailers who never put their beanies out for sale to the public, instead offering them privately to a select list of buyers for the "highest bid". Also some retailers in my area follow the "internet prices" and that's what they sell their new beanies for. Once a branie retires, it's price is increased by $20-$25. hobby - it's stictly business and a not a very nice business either. I have met more greedy, cut throat collectors and business owners than I care to.
- I think it is awful that retailers make you buy 6 to get 1 new one. It is unethical and only hampers collectors from completing their collection. How can it be stopped.
- Some retailers charge too much for them.
- I really agravates me to see secondary dealers with stock piles of Beanies that are hard to find. Whatever the situation...somebody always comes along and ruins it. JUST SAY NO....to secondary dealers!!!
- Dislike greedy retailers selling at 2" prices
- I get mad at secondary market retailers sometimes. Most of the time they are good sources for any type of beanie, but sometimes they get way out of line and exaggerate prices. In my area, Erin is selling for up to $200!! All I have to do is wait until Erin comes out in stores, which will be soon, and buy her for $5-8!!
- I think one of the original nine will be next along with Zip.
- erin will go up in price soon
- I admit it is pretty easy to get sucked into the secondary market...you see the values and think you have a fortune in beans sitting there. Truthfully, I would sell on the seconday market if people were willing to buy...my collection as it is on the secondary market could put me through Graduate School...all in all, I just think they are cute and get just as discouraged about the secondary market as everyone else does. You gotta love 'em!!! :)
- please lower the prices on princess, erin
- Retailers are disservicing their customers with beanies. They are way too greedy. Very frustrating.
- I hate to see Beanies released for a short period of time (ie. Lefty, Righty, Libearty released for one month) as I want as complete collection as possible and also want my children to have all they want and these special releases make my goals difficult. For instance, my 7-year old wants Princess and Erin and so do I. How am I going to get two of each of these bears if they are retired after a short time? Both me and my two boys (ages 7 and 10) would LOVE to have the 3 dinosaurs...I think this inst
nce is self-explanatory. I have MUCH more to say, but this issue is first on my list of Beanie concerns. Thanks for showing an interest in my opinion.
- Retirements: I think that the following will retire: Crunch, Scoop, Gracie (not this time, but next time), Scottie, Wrinkles, Bones, Chocolate, Patti or Pinky or Stretch, Inch, and Waddles. Well that's all I can remember now! -Dave!
- BEANIES RULE emma age 10
- I don't see it EVER ending. They will be more valuable every year. Just get rid of or try to control the "FAKES".
- i suspect pinky to retire soon
- Dislike Retailers selling Princess & Erin out the back door and for high prices > $200 !!!
- when will it end????
- I dislike the limited quantities sent to current retailers. It forces consumers to buy from the secondary market, because there is a fear of losing out or prices will continue to go skyward. I don't like the prices once a beanie has retired.
- I have a feeling that the bunny "trio" will retire, as Batty and Spinner, to make up a holiday set for Hard-to finds...I am also upset about the Princess being SO unobtainable to the real folk, just trying to collect.
- I don't understand why more Erin bears are not being distributed. Some children are sad that they will never beable to have one -- just like the Princess bear.
- It is frustrating not to be able to find the ones you want, but I guess that is why there is such big demand for them. It is hard to purchase them when stores wait for a certain time to put them out because working people cant go. I think the retailers should just put them out at random and let it be a your in the right place at the right t
- i dislike cogers hallmark in saddlebrook nj. hallmark in maywood nj. and I think that they are pathetic greedy degenerates that should not be allowed to sell beanie babies. hallmark and cogers in saddlebrook nj both recieved erin and princess today and niether one sold any to the public, but there was a collector waiting in cogers for everyone to leave so that he could load up his car without being seen. obviously they thought they were outsmarting someone.they were wrong.the hallmark in saddlebrook nj
recieved two ty boxes that arrived at 10:30 am this morning that were never put on the shelf either. I personnally asked if they had gotton any beanies and they said that they were still waiting for a shipment. this was at 12.30 pm today. my sisters personally seen those boxes being delivered this morning so i knew they were holding out. these people should have their contracts with ty terminated. this is unfair to the children , who have anxiously been awaiting the arrival of both princess and erin. i'm
ure if there is a way to check with ty about what shipments these stores recieved that they would be able to prove that these stores have recieved these two beanies. i'm sure they have gotten more than one shipment that never made it to the shelves. something should be done to get control of these money grubbing animals
- I think that Princess and any of the Oringal 9 will be the next to be retired.
- i love spunky and the new easter bear and want them badly
- I don't like the fact that Princess and Erin cost $200.+ and I think Ty should let a store like Toys R Us have an account then that way it would kill the demanding secondary market and give people who really 'like' beanies a chance to get them at more reasonable costs.
- Ty should be retiring beanies more frequently--this will keep up interest and value
- please make store owners stop charging an arm & a leg for regular old beanies, it's not fair to little collectors like me & the little ones who only get 5.00 a week allowance!!!!!
- I have the "fever" just like everybody else. I wish they were more readily obtainable, but I guess that is part of the popularity. I think Ty Warner is an absolute genius and his marketing strategies are the best I have ever seen!!!!!
- I don't like that Ty puts out a new beanie then retires it three months later. There was no time to get it but it sure seems to skyrocket on the secondary market -- what a rip off and disappointment for the kids!
- We will always find something to collect, to a collector it's the hunt that is fun. Too many forget it is a game & to remember the simple rules of coutersy. Don't spoil it for the children teach good sportsmanship. Good things come to those who treat others as they wish to be treated.
- I wish retailers would just put Beanies out whenever they get them and let the chips fall where they may. Limiting one per style would stop the secondary hoarding from retails. I know they have other sources.
- Please make more Erin's so my Mom will buy me one.
- I like the tye-dyed beanies.
- I think that very soon Daisy the Cow will be retirered and Bluebelle the blue Cow will take her place.
- i love bb but i have trouble with stores only having certain ones, they should have all that have been made why make it a market like cabbage patch
- I believe we should be able to buy the Canadian and British beanies in our local stores, or they should be made more available through mail.
- Selling Beanies out the back door, in order to sell above retail, and subsiquently driving up the secondary market prices, should be HIGHLY discouraged.
- Dislike secondary market making so much money on beanies. They get a hold of way too many, not buying according to limits, how do they get a hold of them?
- Most retailers are fair and honest but it really makes me angry when they lie to me about not getting "hard to finds". Do they really think i'm stupid, to believe they are the only ones who didn't get them?
- the survey is very interesting, some of the answers surprised me !!
- We despise the dealers who are trying to make a 100% profit from the Erin Bears and Princess Bears. This makes it impossible for many of us to acquire these. We would love to see a labrador retriever beanie and an Alaskan Spitz
- My major complaint is with the retailers who sell their shipments to the ups guy and others out the back door. And the employees come first. Of course they know enough to grab them first to sell them and make a profit. They help keep the market going also.
- i like the fact that i can meet new people and instead off having nothing to talk about we can always talk about beanie babys i like the new ones except the prices that are going arround for erin i dont have enought mony to by him for $300 and my parents aniversary is the 17 of march that really stinks not being able to get them a neat present just cause the beanie fad!!!!
- I am totally and completely hooked on Beanies. I have never seen anything quite like it, and probably never will again! The only thing I find difficult to contend with are the crowds, and some of the grabbing, shoving and lines from collectors. And some of the retailers in my hometown (South Florida) are flat out rude to Beanie Collectors. I have found myself more and more on the internet, to avoid those aspects of collecting, with very possitive results. I have 3 childen 13,10 and 7 and we all
hubby too!!) LOVE LOVE LOVE Beanies. Have been adding to our collection daily. Thought we might get into secondary market. But hate to part with any of them now. Even went out and bought new cabinets, shelves, etc, for everyone's beanies. As for predictions or trends? To us, now knowing is the fun part. Wondering what will be retired next. My boys wrote their predictions down. Waiting now to find out...Anyway, we are all enjoying this so much!! It's brought us closer as a family. Also my boys pref
r beanies to an allowance, have made signs..."WILL WORK FOR BEANIES".
- Dislike the difficulty finding them for resonable prices due to greedy retailers and the secondary market
- I wish that they were easier to find.
- I don't like it when Ty Co. releases a new beanie but sends only a limited shippment. Those individuals on the secondary market are usually the ones that can get their hands on it first and then turn around and sell it for three times the amount of what they paid for it. In Hawaii a store sold Princess Bear for $100 and Erin for $50. The individual who purchased five of each then sold them at $250.00 and $200.00. Those individuals who participate in the secondary market have all the time to run aro
nd and follow the UPS delivery truck and are right there when the beanies are put out so for those of us who work, we hardly get a chance to find them except on weekends or by chance. A lot of times the retailers have friends that they save for or even call ahead of time. I don't know what would be the solution to correct these problems.
- how hard it is to find them or when you get to the store they are sold out. luck is not on my side.
- I love beanies!!
- Second hand dealers grabbing all the beanies and marking high prices on them.
- I don't like the people who use the internet to scam people out of their money or beanies. They send out junk for mint beanies, never send their end of the trade or never mail the beanies that they were paid for. I like the wide range of beanie styles made by TY. I do wish they would retire more styles and produce more new stlyes then they have in the past. I think by doing so it will heat up the market value and make more beanies desirable to children and adults.. ...Future Retireds?- my guess would
be Happy, Floppity,Valentino,Sly,Lucky, Chocolate,Pinchers.......New Beanies?-White bunny (laying down), sitting curly coated white rabbit, black sheep, Peacock, A new insect,,
- I hate that Ty releases certain beanies (Peace, Princess, Erin) in limited numbers. I haven't found any of them in stores. They are all over the e-bay auctions in multiple quantities. Seems the stores are selling them on the secondary market instead of putting them on the shelves. I've seen up to 36 Princesses on e-bay. What does that tell you? There are only two stores in Yuma that sell beanies and I check regularly. No sign of Princess or Erin. I'm an adult collector and I can't find these be
nies. What are the children supposed to do? Does Ty think this is funny? Ty is the cause for the high prices and store greediness. I've seriously thought about selling my collection so I won't have to fret over keeping my collection up. One more question: If Ty intends to release an abundance of Princess or Erin or like beanies, why don't they state so? That way customers won't scramble to buy them at the higher prices.
- I hate the secondary market! They are ruining the whole beanie craze, especially for the kids.
- I am tired of these greedy retailers ruining beanies for the children. How many kids can afford $250-$350 for a teddy bear?
- I DON'T LIKE THE FACT THAT STORES ARE SELLING THE NEW BEANIES FOR SUCH A HIGH PRICE. IT TAKES SOME OF THE FUN OUT OF COLLECTING THEM. WHEN YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE GREEDY MERCHANTS TO LOWER THE PRICE THEN YOU KIND OF GET OUT OF THE MOOD. I WILL ALWAYS CONTINUE TO COLLECT BUT I HAVE ALSO LEARNED TO QUIT GOING TO THE STORES THAT SELL FOR SUCH AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICE. THEIR ARE STILL MERCHANTS THAT ARE SELLING THE NEW ONES AT THEIR ORIGINAL SELLING PRICE.
- I just feel that retailers should not be selling current Beanie Babies for anymore than what they sell the rest of them for, such as Erin, Princess, etc., and there should not be a secondary market. If people want to sell them, they should sell them for the normal prices that the Beanie Baby is going for. If they are retired, then sell it at the book listed price only. People are definitely too greedy and the poor children out there who look forward to having any of them, are unable to get them. Th
s has been said time and time again, it's a stuffed animal and it's not made of gold or diamonds.
- Started a collection for my grandson's college fund-then 2 other sets for my other 2 kids' future grandkids college. Fell in love with them and have so much fun! Meet terrific people and have renewed my (and Ty's) concern for children. After all, they were meant for the children! Feels good to donate to charities or buy from Infants In Need.....there I know the money goes to kids!! These beanies have put life back into prospective for me!! It's all about fun and sharing and caring!! Thanks! :)
- more availability on special editions.ie:princess and erin
- I think Ty Warner is a terrible businessman. Instead of meeting the demands, he simply retires the beanies. Some of the ones that have been retired, have not been on the market that long. Also, some stores only received an initial shipment of 12 and then the beanie was retired. I think the whole Princess bear is a scam! If Ty really meant for it to benefit charity, then the market should have been flooded with them and then the Ty company donate the money to the Princess Diana charities!
- yes I would like predictions on retirements, and list of beanie new and prices up dated more offtend
