- My husband and I started collecting for our baby before she was born. Now she is 14 months and we have put all single beanies on shelves that she can see from her crib. She wakes in the morning and waves hi to the beanies and doesn't go to sleep until she waves goodnight to them. They are adorable. I wish people who have taken the secondary market to a disgustingly greedy level would realize what they are doing to the market of all collectibles - hurting it for the little guy!
- I think that there are too many greedy and dishonest people out there!!!
- They're so cute, and were once afforadable fun toys. Secondary market has totally ruined it! They buy them up just to resell.
- I think it is amazing that some people want to buy reasonable priced beanies, and then turn around and sell them at a very high price. I think the beanies are adorable and love the ones I have, but some are way out of my budget.
- I love the new bears but I'm sick of them not being available and the secondary market people selling them for outragious prices!
- I love the Beanies! I think they are great! I get upset though at people and how they "hog" the new Beanies and do not let the kids that so deserve them get them. I also get upset with retailers who tell you if you want to purchase one new one that you have to purchase one of the older ones. I have really had it with how some of the retailers take this so for granted. That is just my humble oppinion. I have had so much fun collecting the Beanies for my kids and now a new grand baby. I just wish
hat people would cooperate with each other. Thank you for this opportunity.
- People should always remember that it is supposed to be fun, not a violent sport!
- Too hard to get Princess & Erin
- IT MAKES ME SICK WHEN YOU CAN'T FIND THEM OR YOU JUST MISSED THEM
- I feel it is very unfair for so many businesses to sell to secondary markets or raise their prices to extraordinary levels instead of selling them for $5.00 like they were meant to be. Isn't Ty Warner going to do anything about this? I work at a business that marks all its Beanies at $12.00 and Princess at $300.00. I am tired of seeing children come in to the store and look disappointed because they cannot afford the Beanie they want to buy.
- IT MAKES ME SICK WHEN YOU CAN'T FIND THEM OR YOU JUST MISSED THEM
- don't like that I cannot get them, most sell out before I get off work.
- All bunnies will retire next
- I don't like that the authorized dealer can hold up selling certain BB then raffle them off. I was just in a store that had 100 Erins and and you have to buy a $5.00 raffle ticket to try and obtain one. I can see it if they only have a few but, 100. That's unfair pratices.
- I am very disapointed in how the selling of princess Di beanie. If TY had in morals about them they would make Di very availible so the money from her sells would go to charity and not to line the pockets of secondary dealers.
- Everyone is keen to jump on the "Lets beat up on the secondary dealers" bandwagon. I feel that it is the responsibility of the TY Inc's research team to be more accurate in their estimates for demand. It is not the secondary dealers who are causing the Beanie Babies to sky-rocket, it is the backward thinking of the marketing people at Ty. If there were enough to fill the market place and give every little child in town across North America a Beanie.... this horrendous financial appreciation would not
e born. In the World of Mutual Funds, Stocks and Commodities, I find it incredible that we are confronted by such an investment opportunity, not from the pages of the Financial Post, but at our local toy store!!!!
- I would like retailers to be more fair in pricing the beanie babies reasonably. Some stores save the babies in the most demand and then charge more for them--much more!
- ib think ty should ship more often then once a month
- I don't like the stores holding their shipments of rare or retired ones for friends, family and employees.
- They should sell more Princess Bears at the retail price so everyone can get it for cheap, not the price of $200.
- they should make and exclusive bear for the fan club...
- SEcondary dealers are okay, but when primary dealers mark beanies up according to internet prices, I get pissed. I only mark up retireds.
- Beanie Babies are cute, but the prices are way to outrageous for lots of people to buy (including me). Most of mine are presents from relatives. I got one by asking a friend whose family looked for Beanies if she got a duplicate , would she sell it to me? A few days later I bought Nanook.
- This whole things is getting really rediculus! All I want is to keep my collection complete and when the diffenet bears come out like Princess & Erin they make you crazy trying to get them unless you are willing to pay some scumbag a disgusting amount of money to get them. I collect these for a 5 year olds collection and it really causes alot of uneccesary stress!!!
- DEALERS SELL PRINCESS $150. AN THEY ARE GETTING
- Beanie babies are fun to collect,I started out collecting only the bears but now I collect them all!!
- I wish my children could have the opportunity to buy Princess or Erin without having to pay hundreds of dollars!!!!
- I think most Ty retailers are selling to the secondary market and we dont get a chance to buy from the retailers any more.
- I don't like authorized retailers (.ie some Hallmark stores) that inflate beanie baby prices as to the current market conditons - these people are unscroupulous.
- Well I have a Baldy, but somethings wrong with all of them, they all have black tails when supposed to be white?
- I don't like the stores that make getting an order of babies a big deal and put out all kinds of signs. And do this every time. It makes it a mad house, they should reward their normal, loyal customers that purchase other items at their store, by offering them the babies when they have some in.
- garth brooks bear
- Cannot find any of the new ones except at grossly inflated prices. I wait till I go to Chicago to purchase my Beanies. The prices are still low there!
- I'm tired of TY playing games with the release of Erin. I have not seen a single in my area that has received her. I have though found them on the secondary market for hundreds of dollars. Where are they getting her?
- Stores or Ty is holding back on new releases which isn't very fair to loyal customers-they only make the secondary market profit more
- Ty needs to make Erin and Princess more readily available to everyone, not just those who can afford to spend a fortune on them. .
- I think it's great but I really think the bears should be MUCH easier to get even if it brings down their values. Everyone should be able to own an Erin or Princess because I like a lot of people, can't pay $200 for each one. Beanie Babies are supposed to make people happy, not broke.
- Get rid of those greedy, sarcastic, mean retailers!!!
- I love to collect beanie babies but some of them are too expensive like Erin, its just a bean bag shaped like an animal
- I like the fact that i can find most available Beanies for between $6 and $10, which I believe is the most reasonable prices. What I don't like is that some places try to sell these same Beanies for $15 to $25!!!!
- I REALLY THINK Ty should RETIRE Princes and if not change her totally. Also STOP STOP selling to big chains and start limiting the sellers stores. So price will go up and demand also will follow on retireds.
- Beanie Babies are extremely cute, BUT I very powerfully disagree with these secondary vendors hoarding beaines away and driving up the prices so that regular people cannot in their wildest dreams afford to buy one. Also...the Bears like Erin, Maple...their prices are so inflated that I know I'll NEVER own one and I'm sure many people are in my position and thats sad cause we are the people who enjoy them. Thank You
- Authorized dealers need to put the premium bears on shelves...instead of grabbing them and selling for huge $$$$ outside of their shops !!!
- I think t
- retailers selling at secondary market prices is not right; neither is selling retired beanies for higher prices in retail stores
- I dislike when you go to get beanies, people are rude and inhumane and resale Princess the Bear at outstanding prices. I like it when I can find beanies over the internet or anywhere, for good prices. I wish stores would put an exact date on which beanies they get. I wish that Ty should send extra beanies for the people who work for the store, instead of them getting the hard to find beanies so only a few people can get them. I wish stores wouldn't have silent auctions, or resale beanies for outsta
ding prices. I hate it when your in a line and you see people grab more than there share, especially for resale. I like it when stores have limits, but people don't abuse them, like bring themselves and all 5 of their kids. Beanie Babies are the greatest and I hope they will be around and kicking when I have kids.
- Hopefully prices will go down on some of the more popular ones so the average person can buy them for their collection.
- I think the market has turned very much to the retired beanies. No longer can a person trade currents to get a retired... or sell currents for more than about 5-12 dollars. At one time, commons were 12... and it went up from there. Many currents which were considered "hard to find" in May of 1997, are now either retireds and are worth less or are currents and worth next to nothing. Spooky, for instance, was worth 50+ dollars in May of 97... Now he's 20-30, and retired!!! He was harder to find when he w
s current. LOL. The bunnies used to be hard to find for 25 dollars a piece... 60-80 per trio! Now... maybe 30 per trio is too much. The market for currents is and very much has as we knew it... disappeared. The retireds are soaring, though, as people realize where the market is going. Take the American Trio as witness on that one. Once worth 150 dollars MAX (I actually traded an original Disney set of 11 in July for an American Trio and a Tabasco MINT!)... now they're about 1300 dollars... The market is so
ring. Hold on to your retireds (unless you're going to sell to me)!!
- When is everybody going to see an Erin in stores around their area?
- Angry that Ty does not make them more available and at retailers who continue to claim, "Princess has never arrived" or"We don't expect to sell Princess or Erin for less than $250.00". Retailers are selling on the internet and allowing for sales by the secondary market.
- I feel like the Ty company should really monitor the retailers for selling these at higher prices.
- I think the marketing is excellent, but I also think to many retailers are greedy
- Hippity,Hoppity, andFloppity will be the next to retire
- I dislike that people have Beanies held at retail stores and then buy all of the new ones before anyone else can see them. There should be a limit on how many duplicates you can buy. My little brother never gets to see any new ones because adults come in at 8 a.m. and wipe them out. Come on, let's leave some toys for the kids!!
- I certainly would love to have a Princess or Erin, but I have never seen either one of these at a store for less then $200. Kind of steep for a current beanie.
- retailers charging to much
- I think that the closed accounts by Ty should be checked into soon, some were closed unfairly!!
- much to frustrating when we dont even have a chance to buy a certain beanie then d=see them advertised in paper for hundreds of dollars. How do they get them if I cant?? Retailors hording and re-selling without putting items on shelves??
- Beanies Rule!
- It has been one of the most fasinating collectibles I have ever seen. The price jumps in a year far outweigh the stockmarket.
- Retailers should sell for a limited amount, not "jack" the price up on current beanies.
- I just love beanies, and love to get money by selling too!
- I dislike adults comming into stores and taking all the beanies for themselves so they can just resell them, when I just want one for my collection and then there all gone!
- Dislike the Greedy people
- need more princess di bb's in Waco, Tx. at an affordable price!!!
- I think that the way Princess and Erin are being handled is really disgraceful. My daughter and I have put our names in raffles all over the city in which we live to no avail. I have seen a princess on consignment for $220 dollars. I think Ty should discourage this by sending out large quantities of these bears.
- I love Beanie Babies. They're cute and fun to collect, but my God! it's a full-time job trying to find them! They can actually take over your life!
- I think they should give many more Princesses to the stores....same with Erin too! Personaly, sometimes Ty Warner can be a jerk.
- i sold my beanies because I am tired of them. I am a retailer . I had a customer ask me which ones I had collected before the craze . She made a crazy offer. If she wanted to give me over a $1000.00 for a few beanies why not!! I have not bought a banir in a long time. I fell their is money in it now . If every one had a beanie how can it be a collectable?
- authorized dealers should not be able to sell the beanie babies for more than $6.oo dollars.
- Freckles will retire in the next six months.
- I do not like the idea that they can sell them at the gas stations by us and we can never find them in the collector stores.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!! :-D
- I think Ty is stupid holding back all the new ones!
- Resellers are very greedy they don't want beanies. They want money.
- BEANIE BABIE'S SOCK! I'M STALKING TY WARNER SO I CAN SHOOT HIM!
- I hate greedy merchants,I want a new camel
- I think that Beanie Babies are "Pretty Cool !!!" and CUTE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I hate greedy merchants,I want a new camel
- re-issue sparky he would seel good
- I would like to see Ty produce "state bears"; this would be an adorable collection in itself. Sell only the state bear in the state that it represents -- better than collecting state spoons!!!!
- I think everyon Beanes should be more abundebt in stores including new and newly released bears.
- I think everyon Beanes should be more abundebt in stores including new and newly released bears.
- Keeping the collector's interest relies y, Inc. has to walk a very fine line or the bubble will burst as has happened with other collectables in the past.on supply and demand. Over production will kill the golden goose, on the other hand, the way Ty is h
- Counterfeit beanies are ruining the fun of collecting beanies.
- I love beanies very much.
- I really like Beanie Babies, but i can barely aford them. Greedy adults are hoarding them. The prices they are selling for are outrageous. I will have to sell some of mine in order to get more. There should be some kind of limit onn the pricing matter. Thanks.
- hate how adults have ruined it for kids/resent Ty and retirements making the collector phenomenom so pricy!!!!!!!
- no
- I think they are going to retire blackie, gracie, chcolate, squeeler and other ones
- I'm too new at this to really answer.
- I'm giving it up do to the frustration and aggravation that it causes when new ones hit the market, especially the bears. Ty never sends out enough bears and the retailers sell on the internet to gouge the public. Who needs the added stress? Ty appears to be a poorly managed company with great ideas,or else they are cruel and designing the shortages themselves to keep the public interested. It stinks!
- i want you to make a grasshopper
- I think that they should come out with more Beanie bears
- no
- I hope this phenomenon goes on forever. I'm having a great deal of fun tracking it, which I keep adding to my collection and all this for a very small investment.
- I hope this phenomenon goes on forever. I'm having a great deal of fun tracking it, which I keep adding to my collection and all this for a very small investment.
- Sell your beanies now. They are only a fad!
- Really feel that the public has lost sight of the real reason the beanies were made (or has TY lost sight) a toy for the kids. This seems to be true with the frenzy over Diana and Erin....why such a short supply?
- I think direct buyers should sell beanies at reg. price...not the expensive price
- I hope prices on retires continue to rise as all of mine will go to my grandchildren and perhaps help with college. (Ages 2, 2, 1, 8 months)
- They should make it easier to find princess and erin
- Retailers should sell very limited quantities, like 4 total-1 of a kind. That would slow down the secondary market while allowing semi-serious beanie seekers a chance to get scarce ones. Right now there is a window of 15 minutes to be at the store when they are put out. I also like retailers to announce when the beanies will be put out, and, at that time to limit quantities. I do not mind going to more than one store in order to get all the new beanies I need if, at least, I know that I have a chan
e. I also think that more attention should be given by the stores in relation to parents who work and their inability to be able to call stores all day long and be there during working hours.
- I really like Beanie Babies
- more beannies per store
- Like many people, I wish they were more readily available; however, for a true collector, secondary market is currently THE ONLY WAY to ensure you'll get what you need! It's worth it - I LOVE BEANIES! All I need is Brittania and I'll go to England if I have to!
- I feel that TY should do a better job of getting their product to market - stores waiting 6 weeks or longer on regular shipments is ridiculous.
- I personally do not like when new ones are issued that they are as hard as hen's teeth to find at a regualr price. I do not have alot of money so can only spend under $10 per baby. I would love the Princess bear but can't find one for under $100. the new Erin bear I hear is going for over $200. Why does Ty release them in such small quantities? They are not making a profit for this policy but really frustrate me. Thank you.
- Great Fun! Sorry stores can't get all they order.
- I think that the teddy trend will continue throughout ht ebeanie babies career as top collectable, many people like them and that's what makes them so hard to fing and so valuable
- shouldn't announce new until mass produced
- I don't like how Ty doesn't give stores an exact date on when their shipment of beanies will arrive. It leaves these stores out on a limb. Also, I don't like how a store near me sells current beanies for $25 and calls them retired. It isn't honest. ( I hope they aren't doing that on purpose. They might have been told by Ty that those were retired, though it's a lie. ( This idea came from my mom and me)That same store also holds some beanies in the back room and only sells them to certain custom
rs. That steams me up. BUT I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!! THANKS TY FOR COMING OUT WITH THEM, EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE SELFISH LIERS( SORRY TO SAY).
- I think that TY should 'stockpile' the new beanies that they come out with before they start sending them to the retailers. That way the retailers and secondary sellers aren't so greedy. Your average person cannot afford to pay $100 and up for a stuffed animal.
- I think the internet is developing this into a long term, worldwide collectible. I looking for baldy to retire soon when they bring out a red, white & blue eagle named Sam. I'm looking for snort to retire when they bring out a black and red bull named Jordy to memorialize Michael Jorden. Who knows! It's fun guessing!
- TY mustCANCEL greedy retail dealers! TY should create a system to keep check on these dealers that cater to secondary market before satisfying the current demand. TOO MANY GREEDY PEOPLE! I can understand and sort of accept prices for the older retireds and such but for the new and current???? Retail storesin my area have HIGH prices on hard to find currents. Its TOUGH explaining this to the kids!! What a way to teach ethics and morals to the younger generation!!!
should keep buyers more aware of what's happening in the Beanie World. Really would like TY to retailers
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)
- I love beanies!!! I have one complaint though, I can't srand it when I go into a Ty retailer's store and find them selling the beanies they received directly from Ty at secondary prices!!
- NOTHING
- I am very unhappy with the retailers in my town who will only sell you the new beanies if you purchase three old ones with it. I only like to buy one of each and when I have to buy beanies that I all ready have it puts a strain on my wallet.
- I don't like not being able to find the new beanies in the 15 or so stores at a fair price. I wish i'd bought my kids more of them when they first came out ( but then would they have taken care of them??) I'ts too bad the prices have gotten so out of hand.
- retailers shoould treat all patrons the same. not save for special friends, not keep for themselves, and when ty puts out a new beanie it should be readily available at all market sites. princess hasn't shoown up nor has erin in northern WI or else store keepers are keeping them well hid or with friends.
- I LUV Beanie Babies & I am glad that my mom helped me start my collection. I know, though, that some people go over board & have hundreds of them. Some places that sell Beanie Babies put a limit on the amount that you can buy at one time & it is kind of unfair.
- I LOVE BEANIES! KEEP THE PRICE UNDER $6.00!
- I love Beanie babies, but a lot of people are too greedy. I wont spend more than $30 for a Beanie Baby. I accquired 97 Teddy and Snowball for $7 after their retirement so there is still hope. I would like to get the Princess but not at an outrageous price. That is not how Pricess Di would have wanted it. Hate me or love me for it. I collect them for fun and because they are cute and not for the money!!!!!!
- I dislike the unavailability of the Princess & Erin bears, and the lying by Ty to retailers about shipments
- some retail stores are charging too muchm
- I am really intrigued by all of the beanies I especially would like to have all the bears including the new Erin however at the rate charged on the secondary market I probably will never have her I am on Social Security and am collecting the little beanies for my great grandaughter but I am keeping them for me until she is old enough to knows they are a real collection worth keeping and enjoying not just for throwing around
- I am really tired of going to malls and seeing people who sell things like baseball cards, etc., with a whole bunch of beanies, including the new ones, and Princess and Erin, and selling them for exhorbitant prices. I long for the days when my daughter and I would run around to various stores....find new beanies...and only pay $4.99 - $6.99 for them. It was fun running around and looking for them...but when they were found...you did not have to pay outrageous prices. These people who get them early.
.and sell them at high prices...should not be able to do that. Why can't it go back to being regulated, that no one can sell them for more than $5.99. I refuse to pay alot for Beanies...and am angry that it has come to this!
- I think that princess should be more available, along with Erin, maple and brittiania
- Collecters should stop paying the high prices for Princess and Erin and the greedy retailers would have to drop their prices.
- I do not like stores selling beanie babies for more then $10 or putting limits on what you can purchase.
- I think that more people should carry ty beanies
- I dont like the way retailers are jacking the price up for princess they only pay $2.50 for her and there selling her for $125.00.
- «»«»«»I PREDICT THAT POUNCE® WILL BE RETIRED BECAUSE OF THE CATFOOD BRAND POUNCE! GET HIM WHILE YOU STILL CAN! I HEARD IN A CHAT ROOM THAT POUNCE IS SUEING TY! THEY COULD CHANGE THE NAME TO FLUFFY® THE CAT WITH A BIRTHDAY OF 7-28-98. THIS IS JUST MY SUGGESTION! «»«»«»
- I PREDICT THAT POUNCE THE CAT WILL BE RETIRED BECAUSE OF THE CATFOOD BRAND POUNCE, AND I RECOMMEND THAT YOU GET HIM WHILE YOU CAN! HE WILL BE LIKE DOODLE AFTER A WHILE!
- It is becoming too easy for unethical Ty accounts to jack the prices up on hard to find and high demand pieces. Those of us that are doing this for a hobby are having a hard time finding the ones we need. There should be a way to monitor the retail prices. Other companies have retailers sign a contract with very specific guidelines for what they can and cannot do with regard to pricing. Ty should look into this. JMHO

- I am addicted beyond belief.
- Want to see more Princ. & Erin , reasonably priced.
- I am furious at retailers who sell at secondary prices. They claim that because they can only order to many from Ty they have to charge more! They are driving the prices up and profiting from the collecting craze. They take advantage of the consumers.
- Ureka! TY Warner has created a gold mine.
- I dislike people who sell beanies over 30.00!
- I think the beanie phenomenon is so cool! After going to the website i found out what it ment if you had 1st,2nd,3rd,4th generation tags!!!!!!!!!
- Secondary market retailers should be ashamed of themselves. Kids cant afford the high prices they are asking.
- I don't care for the way second market people buy out all the Beanies, as soon as they reach the stores, and jack up the prices on the secondary market. Also, retailers should limit their sales.
- I think the sitting-up bears are likely to retire next, especially Curly and Valentino. I dislike the way when stores get Princess, Brittania, or Erin, all the employees get them first for $5
- greatly dislike retailers who will not sell newly shipped babies to children who are there to buy with their own money, and mother accompaning is limited in her purchases--tough to do when you have five children
- I'd like more holiday issues with girls/boys names
- It's shameful the way ty retailers immediately turn around and sell the hard to find beanies to secondary market businesses to make a huge profit off people.
- I'm incredibly disappointed in the marketing of the Princess & Erin bears. I feel completely manipulated by both TY and the dealers on these two must-have items. Why hasn't TY done more to make these two bears readily available? It feels like they are promoting unfair practices by the retailers.
- I do not feel that the retailers of Beanie Babies are to greedy and should sell their Beanies at fair prices,as was intended by theier creator,H.ty warner
- I would like to see a wider variety of the current beanies sold in my retail area; the few stores that sell them all have the same limited variety
- The people selling them for more than 5 dollars are greedy jerks
- I dislike the shortage of bears, i.e. Princess, Peace, Erin.
- I am very disappointed in the greediness of the adult resellers in the market. I believe Ty Warner himself said his goal was to make a cute toy thet children could afford to buy with their allowances. I don't know about you, but my children would have to save their allowance for a long time to have $200-300 to buy a Erin bear or a Princess bear. It just is not fair. We try to teach our children to save their money and learn the value of money. What do they see when they see a product that they kno
cost $2.50 selling for 100 times that amount??!! I wish that the resellers would be put out of business and put the fun for the kids back into the collecting.
- I like the Beanie phenomenon. I think that Patti, Blackie, Zip, Scottie and Crunch will retire
- I think Beanie Babies are bigger than Barbies
- Where I live its hard to find beanie babies I want, or if I do find one, for instance, I found Erin for $200, Its hard to find the money for this beanies when people raise the prices by hundreds of dollars.
- None
- UNETHECAL STORES NEED TO BE DROPPED. THEY KEEP THE HIGH ONES LIKE DIANA ERIN AND SELL THEM ALL OUT TO SECONDARY MARKET LEAVING THE PUBLIC OUT AND PRICING THEM ONLY FOR THE CRAZY.
- I have no old retireds but Im still looking!!!:O)
- I personally have decided to sell all but a few of our favorites. I have become discoraged by retailers who are not putting out the beanies at the regular price, they are selling at secondary market prices.
- They should have a sight that tells you which beanie babies are going to retire next
- To many retailers are making it hard for people to purchase them, they raise the prices, hide them under the counters for special people, it's becoming harder and harder for kids to afford them. I'm saving mine in hopes of one day giving them to my future grankids.
- Dislike-stores taking bids on Beanies.
- Ty needs to be careful about making the Beanie Babies too hard to get. If they are too rare, there is incentive to send them straight to the secondary market at outrageous prices like Princess and Erin.
- I DO NOT LIKE IT WHEN THE RETAILERS HAVE THE BEANIE BABIES IN STOCK AND DO NOT PUT THEM OUT UNTILL THEY WANT TO. THE RETAILERS THAT OVER PRICE THE BEANIE BABIES THAT JUST CAME OUT , FOR MAKING ALOT OF MONEY SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF OF THE MAILING .(TO BUY & SALE AT HIGH PRICES) I LIKE THAT THEY ARE COMING OUT WITH NEW BEANIE BABIES ALL THE TIME. ALSO, I LOVE THE HOLIDAY B.B.'S (LIKE ERIN THE BEAR FOR ST. PATTY'S DAY!!!!) :)
- I boycott retailers who charge more than $6.00 for ANY Beanie Baby!!! Hoe do you explain the secondary market to a 6 year old who just wants the "Purple Bear"!!! My prediction for the next retirement.....Chocolate, Pinky, Patti, Valentino, Peace, Gobbles, Spinner, Bones and the bunnies>
- I love Beanies!!
- Dealers (secondary market) personnel should not be allowed to go into a store and purchase a large quantity of any beanie baby and then turnaround and sell then at 40-50% higher than they purchased them.
- I feel that it is unfortunate that it is virtually impossible to purchase the special Beanies like Princess and Erin for a "reasonable"price. Even my "good" dealers have jacked the prices up way to high to make it affordable. I would probably be willing to spend up to $25.00 for either of these, but it seems that it will never happen!
- I hope that ty will understand that all collectors are not wealthy and should make those bears easier for us to obtain.
- We need more ERIN ......limited OK...but not that limited!!!!!!!!!
- I really think there should be tighter controls on retailers that are: 1. selling BB at prices above recommended retail, 2. selling to the secondary market rather than regular retail market and 3. selling fakes mixed in with original BB. I also wish that TY would develop some kind of list people could submit BB want-items to and ship directly to the purchaser. I realize this could not bypass the retailers nationwide, but maybe Ty could offer paid membership in a collectors club through which a limit
d number of direct purchases could be made yearly by each member.
- I enjoy waiting to see what is going to be next.
- I think the old ones are too expensive!
- I lOVE Beanie Babie's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, but I think that the retalers are way to unfair. They buy beanies for $2.50 a piece, and sell some of them for $250.00!!!!!! I also think that ty needs to make sure that some of these retailers are really stores. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I truly love collecting beanies, but I think that the secondary market dealers are making it way too difficult for "us little people" to obtain hard to find beanies like Princess and Erin. This was started for children and now it has become way to greedy. I would like to see the availablity of such beanies more obtainable for children and the like. Thank you for all of your hard work. We really appreciate your dedication!!!
- I would like Ty to sell 1 each to new collecters of the old BB that he has in he wearhouse.
- I think beanie babies are awesome, but adults should let us kids have more of a chance to buy them
- "I don't think that anyone has the right to sell a piece of fabric(s) for more than $4.95 when the company makes them for a heck of a lot cheaper. I would never buy a beanie baby for mor than $10. But you have to admit it, some are pretty cute!"
- I think collectors my age are giving up the hobby that was originally made for them because of the secondary market.
- I think Ty should consider making a snail called "Pokey" with a tye-died shell. Whaddya think?
- I think collectors my age are giving up the hobby that was originally made for them because of the secondary market.
- I COULD WRITE BETTER POEMS
- i really feel that retailers should not be able to sell beanies for outlandish prices. there is a store by me that is selling peace for 150.00 . that to me is very unfair./
- BEANIE BABIES ARE THE BEST!!!
- Great Hobby. Secondary market should be eliminated. Ty is getting greedy by only shipping a limited amount of certain styles. The whole thing is getting out of hand, and I'm beginning to lose interest real fast. I'm also encouraging everyone I talk to not to pay more than retail for any beanie.
- i feel that most of the retailers do hold back a lot of the new and scarce beanies to sell on the secondary market. The secondary market would work fine if the public gets to buy new beanies at retail price while they are available. If all the new beanies are going primarly to the secondary market no one is going to be able to afford them and a lot of collectors are going to get disgusted and dicouraged with collecting beanies.

- I think the beanie phenomenon had gotten a little (a little?!) out of hand between May and July and now it is on track again but now I think the demand should be a little higher.
- I really Ty should flood the market with Princess. I make me angry to see people line out side for literally days for the 24 Pincesses available at regular retail only to re sell them for huge amounts.
- More Horses!!!!!!
- I really missed out on a really good find!!! Princess was found in a small town near me for only $10.00! They were all gone by the time I got there! Oh well, the hunt is the fun part of collecting. Keep your eyes open, you never know where you will stumble across a deal! I really can't say which beanie is my favorite. I like all of them. I picked Spooky becuase I have been looking for him the longest. He is different, that's why I like him. I am looking forward to see who they will retire next.
I really enjoy collecting these beanies. My children love them, and yes, I even have my husband liking them a little! Take care of yourself fellow collectors!
- Ty should make a goat, a deer,and a wolf.
- I think that righty should be worth more because of his rareity.
- Fal the falcon
- Ty should make a deer awolf and a goat
- BB's warm my heart, they make me feel good inside
- all 93 beanies will probably retire next!! Especially the ones that are the original 9!
- I don't like how prices have gone so high its hard for me to afford a regular unretired beanie
- I think it's like nothing else I've ever seen in collecting! I do get tired of Ty's games, but then it's his business and he can do whatever he wants. I think people (retailers and others) should be able to buy, sell, trade, whatever for whatever price they want, and the people who complain about it should get out of it. After all, for most of us, it's about making a few (or in some instances) quite a few bucks! Who cares! If the demand is there, let it be! Thank you.
- price guide available over internet
- I dont like the high prices on the beanie's. Like the Princess and Erin Bear. $200.00 and up is a crazy price for a little stuffed animal!!!!!!!
- I like the Club Idea! Need Exclusives!!!
- I enjoy collecting my BB's and I hope the phenonmenon keeps going. It's a lot of fun and not that expensive, if you're a cautious and watch who you buy from. I plan to leave my BB's to my children for them to enjoy. Hopefully, the market will be good to them; but if not, so be it.
- I am upset that retailers sell the new beanies for $15 - $20. I will wait until the honest stores get them and sell at regular price.
- I love beanies but I am 11 years old! I only get $5 a week and I depend on my father to buy me beanies. So if anything, I hate the pricing for hte rare/retired beanies. My grandma just purchased a Princess for $100. $100? Help!
- All I hear is everybody complaining about the secondary market and how "something should be done about it", well, the secondary market exists because of us! If we would all stop buying from them and refuse to pay their outrageous prices, then they wouldn't exist! Think about it.
- TY> telling dealers to increase prices
- I think that if Ty Warner truely wanted to make Beanie Babies "so children everywhere could buy them with their allowance", then he wouldn't be releasing so few Erin and Princess bears. He is obviously targeting the secondary market dealers and avid collectors... not children.
- It bothers me that they only manufactured a few of the princess bear because it would help the charity more if they produced a lot and we could all have one at a reasonable price.
- I say they should bring Brittania to North Ameracia. I want him a lot.
- dislike how the secondary market people are getting all the new ones before the ordinarly people have a chance. and that they continue to buy them when they still have them at home and are just trying to acquire more to resell at outragious prices. i mostly collect them because i like them, but the chase of trying to find the ones you need are getting ridiculous for us full time working people in and out of the home.
- I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE FOLLOWING...STARFISH, SEAHORSE, ANGEL FISH, PARROT FISH, HUMMING BIRD, ROBIN, CARDINAL, ANOTHER BUTTERFLY, SNAIL, ANTEATER, TARANTULA, AND MY LIST GOES ON AND ON.
- The prices for the retired Beanie Babies are too inflated.
- I think Gracie the swan, Seaweed the Otter, Scottie the terrier and the Princess Diana Bear will retire next. Why? Nobody seems to like Gracie, and Scottie and Seaweed aren't that popular. I think Princess will retire because everyone wants one, and because it is in memory of princess Diana.
- Beanie Babies are cute!
- beanie babies are cool
- I hope it continues for a long time.
- How am I supposed to get thousands of dollars for a few toys I really want ? I wish Ty would make 3 times as much bears, new releases and Princess and Erin as they do of each currents. They need more factories. They need to make Maple and Brittiania easly available in the U.S.A. I wish Ty would make a hegdehog and echidna beanies.
- I THINK PRINCESS IS THE GREATEST BUT I DON'T HAVE HER YET.
- my husband and i just love beanies. I think that beanies will be around for a long time.
- I want Coral so bad because it is my birthday.
- I love collecting beanie babies. Every time my mom says " their so hard to find" I say " that is part of the fun of it" and it is.
- This time last year, the Ty guestbook was full of wonderful comments from children (a pleasure to read)........ now, it seems that the greedy adults have monopolized the market (and guestbook). I am sickened by this phenomeon and no longer want to collect these Beanies. I now buy them just once in awhile - when i'm shopping with the kids.
- I dis like that Beanies retire. I look and look and look for a Beanie and before i find it at a low price it's retired.
- Seriously, something must be done about the greedy secondary market!
- Beanie Babies rule!
- I wish Ty would stop issuing "specials" like Erin and Princess. Regular kid collectors like my 11-year old daughter can't afford them! Only adults can get these single releases! I know they do it to hype everyone up, but it puts beanies out of the reach of kids.
- Our whole family collects Beanies. It's great. I don't like the retailers charging more than the $5-$7 thou. You should never see a retailer charging more. I don't care if it is Princess, Erin or what. If the secondary market charges more, that's fine.
- They are so cute!!!
- Ty Warner has not thought out his marketing strategy very well ... instead of creating a panic-like demand at the very beginning, he is purposely putting a lot of money into secondary marketers pockets. Instead he should have enough quantity when a new beanie is released to be able to sell for $6 so some kids can get them, and then just retire them sooner - thereby creating the demane and secondary market at the end. The way things are now not many children can get either Princess or Erin.
- I dislike the secondary market.
- Crunch will probably retire soon too becuase of his teeth- look at what Bucky is doing now. :-)
- i think that when the turkey is retired, a peacock with a simalar tail will be introduced
- parents are ruining it for the kids
- Retailers selling to the secondary market and under the table for higher prices.
- I would like to see Midnight the Black Lab, or Peaches the Yellow Cat
- I think it's unfair that people can easily get beanies for low prices and sell them for extremly high prices, and make a large profit.
- They should put Thoughtful consideration into Iris the Peocock
- I think Ty should come up with a hamster
- Would like to current beanies sold at regular retail cost by everyone.
- beanies rule GO BEANIES
- I wish stores could get more Princesses. I have found numerous Princesses, but the stores are asking outragous prices.
- I would like to see a new royal blue elephant or bear. That was a great color and most of us don't have it. I like the good people I have met along the way of acquisition! I think there is a degree of greed at work here, but for the most part, the people I have met in both the retailing end and the secondary end have been quite fair minded. I am a long time collector of antiques with an eye for the unusual and these appeal to me in that way. Also, the workmanship of the Ty product, has been quit
good. I hope it doesn't change. The PVC vs PE controversy bothers me. If Ty is changing to a cheaper fill, people will react. I notice that some of the Hissy snakes are marked PE and others PVC. Is it only a tag error or an attempt to reduce the cost of the product? I hope Ty will clear this mystery up very soon.
- I think that Beanies are great! And there's only one Ty!
- Secondary markets should not be allowed to purchase beanies at a low price and sell them at such a high price. There should be a limit to the amount that a beanie can be sold at. I collect because they are cute. Adults are the reason why I think the whole idea has been ruined. Beanies were meant for children and they are so expensive that they can't even buy them with they're own money. The adults should be assamed of themselves for ruining it for the children, and TY should be ashamed as well for
etting this happen!!!
- I love all the beanies and I would like to get all of them if that is really possible.
- I don't how you can hardly ever find anyone you really want.
- I love beanie babies I want all the beanie babies, but I especially want Erin because we have the same birthday!!!!!
- There should be a ty pillow pal list.
- BBs should go out on the shelves on the week-ends. Retailers are not being fair anyways but more so to the working force.
- I love Beanies and I pray they keep coming out with new ones.
- i have 55 beanies and i love them all!
- Ty's communications and dropping of numerous suppliers really borders on discrimination. Beanies are cute and fun, but when your friends are mistreated maybe people should boycott Ty to make a point. A company's product may be the best in the world, but if they mistreat or discriminate against other people, than their customers should take a stand and say it's not right.
- I think it's a wonderful hobby and investment!
- I have a real problem with retailers buying directly from Ty selling directly to the secondary market.
- I like Beanie Babies
- I believe that TY should have the Secondary market values be set a certain preice.
- This is a toy ment for young children to be able to by and when people charge prices up to 3 or 4 thousand dollars for them it is outragous.
- I think the pricing is getting way out of control in the selected stores that are selling them. I thought they were not to exceed over $5.00 a piece a beanie baby. Plus I know of several stores that hoard the beanies and sell them on the secondary market. Collector people are just going nuts about this beanie baby phenomeon.
- I wish people in the primary market had access to Beanies as easily as the people that sell on the secondary market!!!
- I enjoy collecting beanies as a hobby, and wouldn't think of selling them unless I had another to replace it. Sometimes, I believe that beanie babies are hard to find and I wish more chain stores would carry beanie magazines and accessories.
- I think retired beanies should be re-issued
- i think pouch might be retired due to the danger of the baby kangoroo becoming unattached and harming a young child thank you lisa
- Dislike retailers who over charge on current beanies, just because they are hard to find.
- I have been told by salespeople or their friends that the hard-to-find beanies are often snatched up by salespeople when a shipment comes in so that they never even reach the sales floor. I think that what started as a cute collectible has become a very nasty business with the consumer taking the brunt of the greed involved.
- My daughter and I loved to shop for beanies before. But now it has become a real chore to get the ones she needs. The secondary market prices are crazy, especially on some recently retired beanies. Also if you don't get to a store immediately after the get a shipment, you don't get any of the new ones. I don't think the Princess and Erin bear release was handled well. Only a select few own them, and they either won them in a raffle or paid a fortune for them. Either way I sure the charity for the
Princess Bear never saw more than a few dollars. Also unless you can spend more than $100 on a bear, you never got one. Rumor is that the market will be flooded with these in the summer of 1998. I hope this is true. It would stop many unscrupulous people from making a fortune off of a child's toy.
- WOW
- My daughter and I loved to shop for beanies before. But now it has become a real chore to get the ones she needs. The secondary market prices are crazy, especially on some recently retired beanies. Also if you don't get to a store immediately after the get a shipment, you don't get any of the new ones.
- I don't think beanies should be so expensive. Didn't Ty Warner want beanies to be inexpensive toys that people could buy? I think that any beanie price that is over 50$ is ridiculous!
- i dont like dealers that sell these5.99 toys for 1000 dollars.
- I think beanie babies are very cute and one day they'll be worth a lot of money
- EXPECT REMAINDER OF ORIGINAL 9 to RETIRE
- There is a retailer who does not put out the Princess Bear or Erin Bear and instead keeps them in back for certain customers.
- I would like to see retailers sell their beanies to normal people. Then we would not have the crazy demand/lines at the stores. Ty is making plenty of new ones, it's just the secondary people get them first, and no one can afford them!!!
- Primary suppliers like Hallmak should not be allow to charge secondary market prices for current beanies like princess and erin. This phenomenon will pass like card collecting if the children are driven out of the market because secondary dealers are able to secure hard to get beanies like princess, erin, peace etc.from people who have accounts with Ty Inc. This happen in the starting lineup toys. Lots of epople dropped out since they can no longer aquire the popular pieces directly from stores and m
st paid a substantial mark-up from secondary dealers. These epople are good and bad for collecting. I have seen a dealer at a beanie show asking a store clerk to get her every purple (princess) and green (erin) bears that come in. He told her he would and they would be $6.00 a piece and that he'll have the total shipment for her. She was ,at this show, selling princess for $150 and erin for $250. This type of action will kill the phenomenon.
- I feel TY knows what they are doing in making the toys so unavailable to children. They are just like any other big company and they got greedy.
- I only wish the bears weren't so untouchable price wise. I only want them for my personal collection. They are pretty. My daughter is the one that is really the collector of beanie babies. She loves them all!
- because of the regular stores now seeling at secondary prices, a lot of us will have to give up collecting because we will never be able to afford to complete our sets---this is meant fot the new releases--the retireds are what you can/and are able to pay at your own choice...thanx
- price gouging makes me sick!!! They are a $5.00 kids toy!!!
- I wish Ty could get the new ones to the local stores at approximately the same time. This would make collecting more challenging and keep the price fixing out of the hands of the retailer. I want a Ty Poodle to be next.
- They need to make a Golden Retrever Puppy named Max and born on April 22
- The secondary market is part of the reason for the beanie success. Retirement is good. If someone just want's a beanie baby there are plenty other brands. The scarcity of Ty and retirements are part of what make them increase in price.
- I also like TBB's -allot
- After getting really enthusiastic, I cannot find Erin or Princess for less than $200. Ty should assure that their authorized dealers do not sell them to the secondary market rather than to Ty's loyal public.
- I think that a lot of the white Beanie Babies are going to retire very soon because they get dirty faster.
- I don't like the greedy old women who fight over them. I wish that they hadn't become so popular. I think that Ty should make a goat and another horse
- Thre really fun, I enjoy colecting
- Wish we could get all of the recent beanies for about the same price: some of the recent beanies are ridiculously overpriced just because they're 'special'- even though there are supposedly just as many as the other recents. Even in small shops that sell other beanies for $6, beaniies like Mystic, Magic, & Peace are 3x (and more)the regular price.
- Chip will be retired very soon and TY might retire one or all of the rabbits for easter this year. I am only thirteen and have completed my active be3anie set and draed starting on the retiteries. The secondfary market(no affense to any one!) Can go to H--- for all I care they jack prices up so high I can hgardley afored to buy active beanies not to mention the retired ones. I think more places should have 13 and under days when they get a shipement in and have a restrictrion on how many beanies a p
rson can buy at a time from their store!!
- Dislike secondary buyers hoarding public merchandise - product never gets to the shelves!!!
- i feel that all current beanies should sell at around the $5-$6 price. some stores give different price catagories (i.e. easy to find currents $5-6, hard to find currents $12, and currents not available for awhile are $25.) that is ridiculous since they are pricing by what their shipments have contained and not what is actually available in all stores that sell beanie babies. i also feel that retailers should not sell at secondary markets but could allow consignment sales in their stores for the
econdary market.
- I like that there not expensive in stores. I don't like
- I think they're a great reasonably priced collectible which most people can afford. I don't like the way a lot of collectors act - you see the worst in people coming out. And, I'm disappointed in the extreme difficulty in obtaining new ones. You have to be there when the boxes are opened. No one thinks about the people that have to work all day and can't be at the stores when they open. I spend a lot of lunchtimes beanie shopping!
- We need Princess & Erin, and the prices are out of sight....my 11 year old used to be able to purchase these with her allowance, but , no more! That's sooo sad.
- I wish TY would set a price limit on retailers. I've seen gift shops and some Hallmark stores with prices rangeing from 7.99 to 15.00 for current and new Beanies and much more for the retireds. I will not pay those prices and will wait for some of my favorite stores here in Little Rock, AR to get them in for the regular price of 5.00 . I collect for myself and 3 daughters and can't afford to pay the inflated prices. Thanks for listening.
- I dislike uavailability at retailers.
- The thing that upsets me with buying Beanies is when you see someone with a whole arm load of the same Beanie. And they tell you right out that they are just buying them to sell on the secondary market for twice the amount. And when you ask if you can buy one for your child they almost laugh in you face. I collect them for my 4 kids and each of them collect a certain kind. My one daughter collects the bears and she doesn't understand why she can't get it to add to her collection. I think people a
e forgeting about the kids that collect these and only thinking about how much they can make off their next sale. Thank you.
- this whole craze is making me crazy!!!!!!
- I just think it's a shame that what started out as a cute toy a child could buy or an adult could buy for their child has now gotten to be such a quick way to make money. I however do not blame the retailers or the secondary market for such prices. If people would not be so desperate to pay these outrages prices there wouldn't be this secondary market. I have found that since about Nov. it is getting extremely difficult to find beanies and of course it's a joke to try and look for Princess or Erin beca
se of the greed invovled of getting as much money as can be got for these beanies.
- I dislike it when new beanies come out and they charge way to much, when they know they won't sell for that in the near future.
- My daughter would love to see a Hermit Crab as a Beanie with a Birthdate of 5/25/xx also since she has a twin brother she would love to see some animal made as twins.
- i think it's terrible to get Princess & Erin for over $100..if you're lucky you can get them that cheap!! it almost make me feel like i should stop collecting beanies all together.
- make more beanie baby bears
- #3 should also have another choice - collector for self and also selling on secondary market
- I think there should be a Ferret Beanie Babie
- I am very unhappy about TY retailers who sell all (or a great deal) of their shipments to secondary market. I personally know of several reatilers in our area who do just that. Also they raise the currents and new releases to $10-25 apiece. I think a standard price should be established for all current and new releases (whether they are htd or not). An increase in price on retireds could be tolerated until they get outrageously over priced. Peace, Valentino and the bunnies is a good examplel of pr
ce gouging by the retailers.
- I think that there will be a lot of new Beanies when they release and retire next.
- I think they may create another armidillo or a tie died fish
- I hate the stores who jack up the prices and try to rip you off!!!
- I think the fad may pass and everyone will be caught holding a lot of worthless beanies. Hope not, but I think it could happen.
- I love Ty's beanie babies alot
- why cannot ty produce more bb and put the secondary marketers out of business. this collecting thing statred out as good, clean, cheap fun that children of all ages could participate in. i am sure that ty is painfully aware that the secondary marketers are profiting off ty's goood name and good product and would do well by supplying more toys. i personally do not think that ty could flood their market and loose profitability. ty would only be expanding their bottom line and put yet another third wor
d economy to work. i truthfully hate secondary marketers and the stain they put on beanies.
- I don't like having to stand in line to buy a beanie
- I dont really know why there is such madness with the Beanies but I can get swept into it also. It is a fun thing to collect and I enjoy seeing them, esp. the dogs and Teddys
- Collecting the beanies is very addictive!! However, the retailers who hoard beanies make it difficult, if not impossible to purchase new releases (Princess or Erin specifically). Those of us who collect simply for the excitement of the "hunt" are getting frustrated in this area by the retailer's actions.
- kochen@zoomnet.net
- It is a fun Hobby.
- princess and erin need to be more readily available.
- I live in a town where some of the dealers who really don't need the sales of beanie babies to make a living but, they horde them and sell currents as retireds for bigger profits or just mark up the price and their response as to why the do this is "because we can"
- I think this is a wonderful business, I so enjoy selling as well as collecting and so does my children. I just wish they were easier to obtain.
- Beanies issued in other countries should be more available in the US, without paying such exhorbitant prices -- i.e., Brittania!
- blizard
- The Beanie craze could go long until I am an adult and beyond. It is a brilliant idea that seems strong and not going to let up
- I think it is great that it support the kids but I think that store are going over board on there price for Eirn, and the Princess
- I worked at a Zainyrainy at Christmas (96) and would buy Beanie Babies for $3.50 with my discount. I thought they were cute for my daughter to give her friends for presents. At the time there were hundreds on the shelves. I only wish now that I had bought more.
- Beanies are the coolest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I don't think retireds & mis-made Beanies should cost more. that is dumb
- Beanies are the coolest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- The beanie I really want is Peace the Bear. My most valuables are Manny w/o tag, Magic, and 1997 Teddy
- Like everything of value that is sold to the public there has been to much of a price swing with most of the retailers that I have seen some restrictions should be instituted to prevent over pricing.also I would pay a little more if the tags had more protection Example a small plastic ring around the heart hole.
- I love Beanies
- I hate to see retailers selling for more than $5.00, especially since they only paid $2.50 for them. I have only been collecting since about Nov-Dec 1997 & I already have 85 plus 7 retired, you could say I'm just a little addicted.
- the pastel bunnies are gonna retie!
- I think I have a brownie the bear but I can't seem to find much in the way of information?
- can't wait for teeny beanies return
- I feel that they need to retire more. I am seeing too many older ones in stacks at stores......
- Ty asked that people not buy PRINCESS on the secondary market but then he didn't distribute enough so that people could buy them from retailers.
- retailer and the secondary market are making way too much money on a toy that was originally intended to be played with by children and adults, i am very discouraged by many marketing tackets by TY and retailers .... spend 50 dollars on store murchandise before you may buy 1 beanie baby... this is rediculous
- I love beanies no matter what they cost
- I wish that Ty Inc. would send out BB orders to the merchants that order them. It is frustrating when you eager to buy and the merchants don't have their order from Ty yet, and don't usually get it for months. Also, they should leave the price at $5-$6 and not raise it, even for new BB.
- I love beanie babies and hope that the current hype doesn't kill the market through over kill. Also, Please Ty Warner --More Bears!
- iI FEEL PEOPLE ARE GETTING TOO GREETY OVER BEANIE BABIES. MOST OF THEM ARE IN IT FOR THE MONEY, BUT THERE ARE SOME OF US OUT THERE THAT STAND IN LINE IN THE FREEZING COLD JUST SO OUR CHILDREN CAN GET THE ONE THEY WANT. I HOPE THAT ALL OF THE GREETY BEANIE DEALERS SOMEDAY GET STUCK WITH ALL OF THERE STOCK AND LOSE A LOT OF MONEY.
- I just love them!
- I dislike how some retailers have high prices, and dislike how rare they are, but they are so cute I can't help but want beanies!
- I would like to see more snakes like Hissy
- I'd like to see more stores with beanie prices like they use to be. I have to sell my retired for higher so I can afford the new hard to gets.
- STANDING IN LINE - WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO BUY FROM TY DIRECT
- I feel that this retirement thing is wrong. If people want them, TY should keep making them. People on the secondary market are taking advantage of a good thing. If they want money, they can get a job. Let the collectors have their fun.
- BEANIE BABIES WILL BE AROUND FOR AWHILE
- I think that some people have the nerve to charge what they are charging. Some prices are way to high. I've heard blizzard is next to retire.
- We just now got them at our local Hallmark store, wish our store was able to sell the older babies, not just new releases. Due to the fakes on the market, I have no idea where to even shop for older babies and feel safe that I am getting the real thing. Y
- I believe that the Beanie Frenzy will last for a longtime due to the wide variety of age groups that are involved
- I wish it was easier to get ahold of the little things!
- Parents trying to acquire these BBs can be as obnoxious as little children!
- I have run into many stores in CA that are marking up or requiring that a customer give donations to charity in order to purchase and Erinn bear. I think that charities are great, but I was under the impression that Princess was the only beanie for this purpose. I am frustrated at retailers who are doing this. I will probably never be able to get an Erinn because of this and I don't like to pay more that $20 for a beanie. Thanks for your survey!
- I dislike the outragous prices for BB's through out stores and I also feel they should make more of Erin and Princess!
- dislike new beanie prices 100-400$
- I find it really disturbing that retail stores are selling Princess at such outrageous prices. Aren't the proceeds to go to a good cause?
- i want sparky and will pay good money for him.
- Why are so many of the hang tags not folded correctly at the factory?
- I am greatly annoyed by shopkeepers who have beanies in stock in their store, but sell them for very inflated prices over the internet. I also dislike shop keepers who sell their beanies for the prices that they are going for over the iternet
- The fact that TY limits supply is causing some frustration. Folks who work can not get out to buy new and limited Beanies before the secondary markets buy them up.
- greedy secondary price gouging needs to be stopped!
- I wish Ty would not announce a ney Beanie unless production is better able to keep up with demand
- Ty made a good product at a good price. But because he is so good at marketing. and because people are ridiculous, this whole thing got out of hand
- I Love Beanies Babies cause they are cute and affordable.. I'm really mad at Ty for not looking at the Ty dealers who receive directly from him for $2.50 to go and sell princess and erin on the internet for $200.. I haven't found one yet.. I probably wont get one till end of summer.. I really piss me off.. He needs to stop making those currents and just mass produce the bears... thanks..
- i think erin will be retired soon after st. patricks day 1998.
- Make an old face Peace Bear!
- secondary salespeople should not be able to have "connections" to authorized dealers
- There should be a formal place to report dealers from over pricing
- i have a hard time finding stores that sell them!
- Yes. like Freckles better than any other Beanie baby. Yes
- I hope it stays a fad or I'll loose a lot of money
- I just wish the small local stores didn't get so greedy about certain items. TY should start being careful about who they are dealing their beanies to.
- Hate the Games Played By TY and Dealers
- It amazes me how one week a certain beanie can't be sold and the next week its the hottest item on the boards. I wish TY would retire all the old ones that aren't selling anymore and come out with more new ones. Also, TY needs to mass produce new beanies to meet demands. It's so hard to get PRINCESS and ERIN and retailers aren't selling them. They raffle them or they never make it to the shelves for people like me to buy. I've also seen beanie retailers jack the prices of PRINCESS and ERIN up to $
00 which isn't right. But I love beanies and I will continue to collect them.
- Beanies are addictive!
- I feel that some Ty dealers are becoming perinoided about Morhers bringing children with them when we find a retailer who sales BB at a cost we can afford. Retailers over react to the public and that is why they often sale out the back door to known second market dealers. I refuse to pay overpriced payments for current BB .
- I enjoy finding people willing to trade evenly. It gives my kids the opportunity to get HTF and otherwise expensive Beanies without caving into the secondary market greed!

- Inconsistent pricing from retailers & Ty creating shortages through limited shipping to established retailers.
- Would be nice if Ty could treat every dealer equal. In this area we have dealers who are still receiving their Jan. shipments. Secondary dealers seem to determine who gets the shipments.
- I think the next TBB promotion will really fire things up!
- I really love beanie babies because they are affordable and lovable. The fact that they increase in value so quickly is simply a very nice bonus. Sometimes it is too stressful, and hobbies and such should be relaxing. That is the only part of the whol thing that I dislike. I have been trying desperatly to get a Princess or Erin. But the prices are, in my opinion crazy, for a beanie that is newly released. I wish this situation didn't exist. But I am up for the rest. thanks
- I would like to see a Maltees dog
- I'd just like to say that I FINALLY got a Princess after entering every drawing in my town and in the next town (both relatively small) and am quite pleased. So is my husband who is tired of bringing me magazines while I sit in lines waiting for the UPS truck to arrive. As to the future retirees, I'm thinking Spike and Blizzard will be in the next batch, but I've been wrong before and will most likely be wrong again.
- i think that newly released beanies shouldn't be so difficult to find. They should also be sold for the correct price of $5.99. These raising of the prices is only bringing down the interest of the BB. I know alot of people who have just given up. This is supposed to be fun and the secondary market is ruining it.
- I think all the hype is crazy...but I still love them!
- Purchased 'many' beanies to resell and Homeless shelter, pediatric hospitals, & crisis centers area all super places to share your beanies. :)am finding it too difficult to part with them. Fortunately many have retired and increased tremendously in value. I love seeing so many people, old & young alike with a common interest...makes collecting beanies all the more enjoyable. As difficult as it is for me to sell my beanies, I thouroughly enjoy giving them away to children especially those in need. W
at a special feeling it is to see their young faces light up from such a small gift from a caring stranger.
- I AM SO DISCUSTED IN STORES CHARGING IN EXCESS OF $100.00 FOR PRINCESS AND ERIN, WE AS COLLECTORS ARE NOT ABLE TO FIND THEM AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.
- how long is this going to last???? how hi is hi????
- I wish that all beanies only cost $5-$6 so that I could afford them, I also think that they should be made more available and easier to find. I have a hard time finding my beanies and sometimes have to search for a long time if they don't retire first.
- i love bbeanies!!!!!!!
- I wish that all beanies only cost $5-$6 so that I could afford them, I also think that they should be made more available and easier to find. I have a hard time finding my beanies and sometimes have to search for a long time if they don't retire first.
- I think Princess should not be sold for more than $10.
- I Think they are incredibly Adorable.
- I think this is a great place to be at!!
- I Think they are incredibly Adorable.
- I dislike the limited distribution of some beanies, especially Erin, since my daughter is named Erin and I wanted to get one for her. I am not willing to pay $250 for her.
- The secondary market is good for collectors but its a shame because of it my kids will never own a Princess, or Erin or the next big hit selling for hundreds.
- When will there be a goat?
- They are entirely too addicting!!!!!!!!! Retirements: I've heard about: Pinky, Inky, Chocolate, Balckie, Rover, Iggy/ Rainbow, Daisy, Mystic, Crunch, the 3 colored bunnies, Gobbles, and Batty
- I wish that when the new Beanies are made, that there would be more to go around! I hope that there will be another Teenie Beanie promotion soon. I think a peacock Beanie would be cute, also a guinea pig Beanie.
- I wish that when the new Beanies are made, that there would be more to go around! I hope that there will be another Teenie Beanie promotion soon.
- I THINK THAT THE WAY TY IS ONLY LETTING A FEW BEANIES OUT AT A TIME (PRINCESS AND ERIN) IS CAUSING RETAILERS TO DO LOTTERYS. YOU PAY A DOLLAR AMOUNT OR HAVE TO MAKE A PURCHASE, AND THEN ARE ABLE TO PURCHASE A LOTTERY TICKET. IT IS GETTING WAY OUT OF CONTROL
- I wish they would do great danes, Ty could do a fawn, a boston, a brindel, and a black great dane they would be awesome.
- Angry that they have cancelled orders with one of my favorite distributors, because she is in a residential area. She is one of the most honest retailers I have dealt with. I am getting tired of greedy retailers increasing the prices on hard to finds.
- I think it is unfair how People are selling Erin and Princess for more than $10. I mean, I really want Princes and Erin, but I have to wait for more than a year until I can get it because I have to wait for the prices to drop. I think TY should control how much beanies go for in retail store. Today I went to Raining Cats and Dogs and they were selling Princess for $100 and Erin for $175, that is riducilous!!! I was hoping to get them for $5-10. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM THAT ARE RESTRICTIN
KIDS AND PARENTS FROM BUYING THE BELOVED BEANIES!!!!!
- should be sold only through ty authorized dealers. secondary market is very important to keep the primary market going
- I Don't Like Limited Editions Like Erin It Just Causes The Secondary Market To Get Greedier And True Collectors To Become Frustrated
- We just started collecting Beanies too late to get the ones we really like to have.
- Those of us trying to help grandchildren complete their collections are simply appallled that this has gotten to "out of hand". Weren't these cute Beanies deliberately priced to be affordable for the little ones to buy with their allowances? Totally ridiculous that adults (be they collectors, parents or grandparents) would EVER pay some of the prices being asked on the secondary market. I also believe that TY should REQUIRE their dealers to price all currents the same and all retireds at maybe a sli
hter higher price than the currents.
- My 5 year old granddaughter and I love everything about Beanie Babies. We sometimes make a day for hunting a special beanie. Keep up the good work as we are also new to the net.
- I'm disappointed that adults got greedy with this toy in that children save their hard-earned money and go to the store to buy a beanie baby and they can't find any.
- I think the retailers ought to be forced in some way , by the TY CO. to sell at least a portion of the best ones to the general public, instead of keeping all of them for their selves, no matter at what price. At least the public would have a chance at them. I also think the raffles at the retailers should be stoped.
- I don't like when a new beanie baby comes out and retailers jack up the price right away. Also when the princess bear came out, they wouldn't sell any of them, they kept them for themselves.
- It's something my 13 year old daughter and I enjoy together.
- I use 90% of my collection for charity fundraising - Very Rewarding for all. I would like to see the TY distributors more accountable for making the product available to the general public instead of the back door sales, ( like Princess and Erin), that we have experienced recently. The whole Beanie Baby phenomenon seems to bring out the very best and unfortunately, the very worst in people. Please keep a smile on your face and remember what really matters in this world.
- My children love them a lot!!! They play with them all the time. I like that they are some of the least expensive toys on the market that makes the children happy!!
- I don't like how high priced some are. They were created for kids to love, NOT FOR ADULTS TO BUY ALL OF THEM SO WE CAN'T GET THEM!
- i just want to say beanie babies are the greatest things i have ever collected! i luv them,
- I do not like the fact that prior to Erin and Princess being sold they were priced extraordinarily high and not easily available.
- I have never been a collector of anything before now. It's a little scarry when I think I'm spending too much money on something that could possibly end up in sacks in the attic some day. I guess there's no way of knowing. I remember the cabbage patch kids craze and where is that now? My son does enjoy them and I do enjoy getting them for him so this will have to be enough just in case this craze ends. I would like to know other views on what people think these will do. I would also like to know
hat to do about purchasing every knew beenie that comes out from now on. Is it a good idea to try and collect them all??
- I live in a smaller town, where everybody knows everybody. The local merchants are either selling for very high prices, or the are claim not to have received the hard to find ones and are then seen at shows, trading their new ones for retireds for their own collections.
- I think they will last forever, and I love them!
- Collecting beanies is FUN. Just hope TY doesnt' flood the market. The fun is in the hunt!
- I dislike that , while Ty Inc. has issued all Beanies to be sold at 5.99 each, satores have been selling them for more.
- I like collecting Beanie Babies.
- I am buying beanies for my granddaughters and hope they appreciate to assist them in financing their college education.
- I don't like how the secondary markets works, some of the prices are just to way out of reach, for children and hard working parents.
- This whole beanie thing was designed for children, but adults have ruined it by buying them all up and then charging redidulous prices for them.
- people who only collect beanies for profit.!!!!
- Retailers do not put the new ones out such as Erin but hold them and either put the price way out of whack or you never see them so they must be keeping them for themselves.
- I think it is great but I don't think the retailers should decide who they should sell to and I think they should treat all their customers with respect even if they are buying beanies.
- I LOVE beanies!!! I have called the same store each day to see if Peace, Princess and Erin are in!
- We would love to see a Golden Retriever Beanie Baby named Hrbie.. named after our dog
- I do not like how people are making it almost impossible to find beanies. It is ridiculous. They are selling them on television now. This is why I am stopping collecting Beanies.
- Those athletic shops selling for outrageous prices
- It is to bad that prncess and erin are so expensive. All the ones that I like are too much.On a site that I went on said that the next to retire are gracie, crunch, twigs, and waddles.
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!! I JUST WISH I HAD MORE!!!
- For Ty to send only 12 of one beanie to each store is outragious!!!
- Retired prices are way too fast in skyrocketing!
- I don't like that places are charging princess and other hard to finds for so much money.
- It's fun to collect but it's hard to find some of them because some of the store owners are not selling them and are hoarding them for a higher price...which is hard for people with kids to collect them.
- Retailers shouldn't be able to dig through shipments to resell BBs
- i feel beanies shouldn't come out costing big $
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!!!! My mom and I just started collecting them. I wish they would be a little cheaper, though.
- I know of someone who is friends with a Hallmark Owner and before the beanies are put out - the best go to the friend who sells them on the side and splits with the owner of the shop!!! It is true they are doing this and should be stopped!!! The store received Erin and the store tells all - gee no shipment yet folks - but I know they were taken and being sold for $$$$$$$$$$$
- Retailers in my area are not selling their Erins but they are raffling them off and I don't think that is fair, I just can't get one because I don'y win. Am looking on the net but the prices are outrageous
- I hate it when I see people selling Beanies like Valentino, Curly, Peace, Erin, Princess and other popular not retired beanies for a ton of money because it is not fair.
- I am having much fun collecting Beanies!
- I think it is terible the way they are not sending out enough for the kids to purchase. Then the adults get them only to sel and make money it is not right to make them so difficult to get.
- I collect vicariously through my children! That means that I buy them to give to the kids. Each child gets different ones and so collectively we have quite a collection! I think this is how many collectors (formal or informal) got started. I still have a problem calling myself a collector or 'beaniac'! There are many first-hand retailers who keep the prices low for the kids who collect and I really commend their attitudes.
- I hate people making a profit off of children. Beanies are primarily for them, and it bothers me when retailers don't recognize that.
- Quite retiring as many as you do. Ridiculous!
- MAKE A S SCHNAUZER BEANIE BABIE
- sell more Ally's,Flip's & Smootchy's
- I don't like the fact that Princess & Erin are so difficult to get and also if you do see them they want to much money which is defeating the purpose of the Princess Bear
- They should make a arctic tern ,arctic fox,and a OX
- make them easier to find, no more lotteries
- make them easier to find, no more lotteries
- I think the secondary market is getting way out of control and I think the retailers should NOT allow one individual to buy out their stock. This leaves individuals like me in line behind one person who buys up the remaining 31 Peace the Bears (for their resale) and I'm left with nothing!
- I think that some people have become a little obsessed with the phenomenon.
- It is such a shame teh Beanies are going out. I really enjoyed them. I haven't seen any in over a year where I live. And teh store I bought them at treats them like a fad, and has stopped purchasing them. And what really asnnoys me are those greedy people buyinbg 3 sets of ecah and wiping out the stores. Hopwe fully I can find a way to increase my 23 Beanies (10 of which are the Teenie Beanies).
- Stores should not sell to known secondary market dealers. The ones that sell on the side of the road.
- Something needs to be done with the secondary market, they charge way too much money and hoard all the beanies !
- I personally think the retail stores are hiding away the Princess and Erin - selling to other for flea market and etc. They the making the money - not necessarily the secondary market people
- I think it is madness.
- I think it is sad that Beanies like the Princess bear & Erin the bear are priced so high or are of such limited quantity to retailers that the kids miss out. Isn't that who beanies were orginally targeted for?
- I think when TY comes out with novelty bears such as erin and others they should make enough so they are available to children because after all its the children and not the adults who will buying these when adults become less greedy
- It's a wonderful way for children to collect at affordable prices. How often do bbs retire?
- I have had a lot of fun with beanies. I have made a lot of friends who have helped me get beanies I wanted. Why is Peace so hard to get? Do they not manufacture many? I have never been able to get one at retail.
- Great for a hobby... my first collection ever and I enjoy it, although my family says I spend too much time on it. Prediction: four retirements and new releases a year 1/1, 4/1, 7/1 and 10/1. At least I hope so. Must get rid of some older beanies and make way for new ones. This helps collectors... they get more value on retireds in their collections and have the fun of search for new releases!
- I wish stores would give everyone an equal chance, maybe take waiting lists for those of us who can't check the store every day at opening time!
- They should retire Curly. He's been around for awhile and I havn't seen him around much anymore.
- I think the secondary marketers should be ashamed of themselves. They make it next to impossible for any of us wanting to collect for the fun of it to afford any beanies. We collect for the fun of it and can't add to our colection because of prices!!!!!
- I think that there should be more Princesses made and more Erins made
- Erin and Princess too scarce
- What I dislike is that my husband works in New York City so I regularly hound him to visit the 3 stores near his office to look for the beanies I need. Princess was one of them. He paid $200 for her which I thought was ridiculas. He said worth it now he dosen't have to look for it anymore. Where did he purchase it. at a HALLMARK in the world trade center. Proudly displayed with a huge sign.
- make them more availabe and less expensive so the kids can start to enjoy them again. I feel we have taken it away from the children.
- I feel that the prices are getting out of hand by seconary sellers.
- I dislike price gouging
- It is a shame that MOST store owners are recieving beanies from Ty and are selling them out the back door for alot of money, It is almost impossible to find Princess or Erin, at regular price in any store. There are ALOT of people who cannot afford these crazy prices, and the store owners who are doing this should not be allowed to sell beanies for Ty.
- I think they should do a goat bb.
- I feel retailers selling at inflated rates--STINKS!!
- I really dislike the secondary carts that are set up right outside the local retailers who are able to go in daily and purchase all the hard to finds for $5.95 and go over to their carts and place a $39.00 price tag on them!!!!!
- I love the hunt, then finally finding it at low cost
- Nanook and Seaweed next to retire.
- I love Beanie Babies and I think they should be in a lot more stores cause around where I live there isn't a lot of stores that have them
- I think Ty should do something about the high prices. I understand that Ty can't tell retailers what BB's can be sold for, but they could do something about it. Ty could take consumer complaints seriously and stop distributing to places that are selling BB's for over $5.00. Ty says their target market is children, if so, should BB's be sold for a price they can afford? If Ty wanted to sell to their directed market, they would take this issue seriously. Look at it from a marketing aspect.
- I hate how Princess & Erin were well over $300 on the secondary market and you don't have a prayer ;of buying it at a store because some retailer has sold all of them to a dealer who has around 50 of them at $300. many dealers where i live are directly selling them in antique malls instead of thier stores because they make so much more on them that way.
- I did have all the current beanies and the Complete set of Jan and May 1997 retireds but when it became so hard to get the new ones at a fair price (Peace) in retail stores, I became disgusted. I sold the majority of my beanies and now I sell beanies for my friends on the Internet. I think it is wrong of retailers to try to jack the prices of new beaniew up to secondary prices. They are making a mint off of us anyway. what other product can you get in and it flys off the shelves? The secondary mark
t drives the primary market. With out he secondary market the primary market wouldn't be to the level it is.
- I think that the secondary market prices are way too high. If Ty's target market is really to kids like they say it is, how are kids supposed to afford collecting them.
- I am enjoying the Beanie Baby Phenomenon but I do resent the resellers. Especially those who sell lots of 12 etc. They aren't even allowing little kids to get a chance to buy one. We sell beanies where I work and are very ethical however, we see a lot of 'dealers' coming back again and again to get their limit because we sell them at regular price and I know they're going to resell them. It's frustrating!
- I don't like how people are selling them for a lot of money, I mean were just kids trying to collect the bean bag toys
- new ones out and can't find in dealers store
- my mom is an authorized retailer and these people who harass her for selling them from 6.99-10.99 need to shut up if they dont want to pay the price.
- What I really hate is that some stores (most) will sell a retired new or hard to find one for so much money, it's silly! I bought a Maple bear for $60.00 and I see it in other stores for $250.00. Now that's silly
- I think they should make a reindeer for next Xmas
- I think everyone should stop paying secondary prices! Or "the Big buck" everyone should work together to keep the cost down for everyone!
- Ask Question about how do you protect your BB's? Tag protectors, display boxes, not at all, etc. Thanks!
- I dislike the greed that this phenomenon has created. I have seen angry, loud adults in waiting lines who fuss and fume when a child is handed a number, they are afraid that the child and the accompanying adult may get one more beanie than they do. The people selling on the secondary market are the loudest. Come on people, Beanies are toys!!! I can remember the joy on my 10 year old daughter's face when she found Waves tucked into a display of other stuffed animals, after the store had told us they we
e out of Beanies. She was absolutely tickled to death with her find. Little did she know that I had Waves put away for Christmas, but of course I let her make the purchase--it was her find! People have to remember that Beanies were created to bring that "joy" to all children.
- Ty should make ferret beanies!!!
- I think it is unfair the way retailers are pricing some beanies higher than others, claiming they are hard to find. This puts them out of the reach of a majority of collectors.
- In my area it seems that th BB craze is on a declinen and it has been for several months. I know of three stores within 5 miles of my house that have about 30 different styles each of the currents . No one is buying them, and there are no lines. I think this fad is slowly dying out
- Come on people. Don't you understand what has made this a "craze". It is the adults and the secondary market. If it weren't for the adults, the secondary market, and if beanies were available everywhere and more abundant, then there would not be this phenomenon. Take for example Bean Sprouts and Russ' terrycloth beanies, they are cute, but no one is crazy about them like they are for Ty's Beanie Babies. People want what they can't have. If you were able to find beanies everywhere, then it just wo
ldn't be as fun or interesting. People like the challenge of finding beanies. I do agree with you all about the secondary market prices on new currents, but then, hey, that is basic economics! We have to be more patient, which drives us crazy, and puts us more into the game! It is absolutely fun trying to find beanies. I buy for myself and for my little boys, but you know who gets more enjoyment from it, and appreciates them more - ME! So again, it it weren't for the adults and the secondary market,
eanies would not be what they are today, and will be in the future. Anything else, then it will become a fad and be over and done with, then no one will have anything to complain about. Is that what you want?? Stop the complaining, and enjoy it!!
- I think a lot of people are getting VERY GREEDY with these $5.00 toys. I love them as much as the next person and I do trade but I only ask whatever the fair market price is at that point. I do not agree with retail stores trying to sell these for more than the $5-$7 that they are worth at the time they come out. SORRY for the disappointment ! Thanks to all of the fair people out there !!!

- Any teddy Bear is so hard to find!
- I AM ADDICTED TO BEANIE BABIES
- That Ty is limiting how many princess and Erins each store gets.
- I am new to the hobby and am quickly getting very disgusted with the greed! I do believe that children are the real victims here and something should be done to protect them. This should not be a business but a hobby. I am grateful to the secondary market for helping to complete my list but I would be just as content to swap Beanie for Beanie without the excessive pricing.
- There are too many ridiculous rumors regarding all aspects of beanie babies and it is very frustrating when foolish people fall prey to them and increase prices.
- I believe distributors who want to charge secondary market prices should lose their distributorship. A shipment comes in and they adjust the price according to what they have received i.e. Princess $450.00 when they paid $2.50 -- this distributor should lose their distributorship!
- I really don't like it when retailers who pay a little over 2 dollars a beanie sell them for secondary prices or by if they are retired or hard to find. I have talked to alot of collectors and they have said if prices don't start coming down in the retail stores that they are going to have to stop collecting. I really hope that doesn't happen because that will bring secondary prices down and then they will end up being worth nothing. I really think TY should do something about this. I had a friend who
rote to the co. and told them about a store that is raising its prices and their response was to just not shop their because once they have sold them the merchandise ty can't tell them what tey can do with it. I thought right after christmas that I saw where people were posting that ty had taken accounts away from retailers who were charging more for the beanies than they should have. What's going on? I need help.
- i collect and give to kids, people are out of control that are selling them. They really ought to get a life.
- Get over it....we'll charge whatever price you are willing to pay. nanner nanner nanner....run and tell Ty! You people did it to yourselves! Take a good look at all retail items, the big sellers are priced higher because the more money we make the better it is for our business. Crime to raise prices...quit your whining and get with the program. That's business, pay up or quit collecting!
- I think thst stores should have "children days" where only children can buy beanies. There should be one a week (if beanies are in stock). All beanies in the store on children days should be $5.
- We sell beanie babies in our restaurant and I cannot begin to tell you how many phone calls we receive a day from people DEMANDING that a busy waitress or employee go a name all the beanies we have. Beanie collectors need to get off of their rear ends and come to the place of business and look for themselves. I know that not all beanieacs are rude..but the majority is. They think that we should only charge a very minimal price, (so they can by tons of them and resell them on the internet) They shou
d be courteous and even think about eating in the restaurant, or visiting the rest of the gift shop. I am so sick of hearing how we can't charge whatever we want...Hey, it's America....and do you know who drove the prices up so high? Yes it was the beaniacs in their frenzied wild eyed stalking and rude ways that have done it. I have seen adults shove children down to get to the last few beanies. Come on people, you'll go alot farther with the vendors if you were a little more thoughtful about how helli
h "just receiving" a beanie shipment is. I have more to say but am afraid that you beaniacs will be too offended rather than see it from we retailers point of view. Price gouging? You bet....you will pay any price, this whole "fun for kids thing" has gotten so out of hand....and it is the beaniacs fault...not the retailer....we are just in business to make money, and honey, we aren't making much because inventory counts say that there are a lot more beanie thieves out there than buyers!
- I don't like when retailers put a much higher price on the currents because they state they are "hard to find" I don't think that is fair. If the currents come ito the store and I am there, they should be sold for the same price as the other beanies!
- My store sells ALL beanies for $5.00. Never $6 never $7, $5.00. How these retailers can get away with charging so much higher than the suggested retail is an absolute CRIME!! Write to TY and tell them if you agree with me. Maybe something can be done to control this.
- I love Beanies. I play Beanie wars everyday on the floor!
- I think the secondary market is buying out the new or retired beanies as soon as they hit the store. This leaves the store owner with inventory of the older beanies that are becoming hard to sell. Everyday collector are not frequenting the stores as much because they are always out of the beanies needed to complete their collection. I will not buy a new or retired beanie from a secondary seller. My biggest complaint is that some stores have a list of people that they either call in advance or pull
elected beanies for. There are some beanies that my girls and I have never even seen because they are gone before the store opens???
- I started collecting Beanies for my Grandchildren but the prices being charged for Princess $350.00 and Erin $250.00 make it impossible I thought this was for children to be able to purchase these beanies It was fun at the beginning but now it is almost impossible especially when you have beanies tat are not available to us in the U:S I am talking about the different colored beanies. being an irish family I would have liked to have Erin fr all the girls (4) and my daughters (2) but the
price maes it impossible I would also like to know where the home shopping club on Channel 9 in the NY area gets their many beanies and are allowed to charge so much money for them Thanks for listening.
- Secondary Market should only be for private-collectors. Local pharmacies should NOT sell on the secondsry market!!!
- I can't satisfy my craving--there are not enough new ones on the market and available
- I think that it is sad that beanies like Princess and Erin aren't available to the regular collector for a reasonable price. The gift stores are getting them and selling them at 1000% markup. Disapoints me. If this is what I as a collector have to look forward to, then I will find something else to collect. Regular collectors like me are being ripped off by mass produced toys.
- My husband and I are collecting beanies for our 4 month old daughter. There something she will have in years to come.
- I'm hooked!
- I dislike the fact that in my area retailers are not even allowing children to buy beanies. The secondary people have made this happen and it is not fair.
- Hate greed of retailers!
- I think the retail store should sell them equal...not raising the price just because its retire or new.
- many beanies disappearing before they get to the retailer
- I am waiting to see if I am getting Brit I love the bears and Peace is my all time fav I am trying to get as many as I can I even Have a vision impaired one! (he has a manu, defect eye gash) But I cant trade him in for a new one hes to cute
- I think people are too greedy and prices are to high. I can't afford to purchase Beanie Babys anymore.
- I love collecting beanies for my daughters as well as myself. I only know of a few good retailers in my area that are still selling these adorable toys for the original $5.00.
- It is unfair that the retailers sell the beanies for more than the suggested price by Ty for example a store here charges $100 for Princess Bear when all the rest of her stock is $5.50.
- yes please
- yes please
- BEANIE BABIES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- The chase has been fun. I'd like to make some money on some of my duplicates to pay for the new ones I want!
- I hate to walk into a retail shop and find that they sell for more than normal retail.
- I enjoy collecting and looking for BB. I don't enjoy watching people fight over BB. I have seen it and it is horrible. There has been many times I have just missed getting the BB i want or need. But , it all works out at the end. Three weeks ago I wondered how I would ever get Princess, Teddy and Peace. Now I have all three. Princess , I won in a raffle, total cost $20, Teddy $5 and I won Peace in another raffle $7.95. I don't think it was luck. I prayed about it and told myself to be patiente (sp?
and if I didn't get it, that someday I would. I now BB will be around for along time. They sure are cuter than Cabbage Patch Dolls. I wish they would make a german shepard BB. Have a good night.
- I dont like how retailers are putting high prices
- I think people that are selling Princess for more than what a 96 retired cost is a person that is mentally challenged
- retailers selling to highest biders on hard to finds.
- I can't believe how obsessed i have gotten for these cute adorable critters. I have been learning alot since i have just started collecting a few months ago. Alot of people have been beanie friendly and have given me some great sound advice on what to look for when collecting. I have already found and purchased a princess Di beanie for I feel was a very reasonable price. She is in a plastic collector container and displayed proudly. All my beanies are for my pleasure and not for selling. I just can't b
lieve how much people can sell these little cuties for. It's amazing. I am always looking for info on collecting so if you have any suggestions for someone like me who is new to this craze please feel free to e-mail me. Thanks, Debbi Friedman
- I think the original Princess should be retired and a redesigned one should be released.
- I would love to see Ty, Inc. re-release all the beanies so that kids can get back to collecting them for fun - at a price they (and their parents) can afford.
- I just don't know why everyone is collecting beanies? I don't collect them,I wouldnt know where to put them all where and what do people do with them put them on a pedelstool? mmm I'll never get it but it is fun!!!
- I think that the Princess Bear shouldn't be so expensive because you won't have money for the Princess Diana fund if you don't sell any because the are so expensive! I would like a Princess Bear but I can't afford it! Plus they are just stuffed animals
- Just that I wish the retailers would stay honest. Too many in my area who put new ones or HTF ones behind the counter to sell at much higher prices than they should. If they want to sell like that then at least they could do is not show them so the kids can see them only to hear mom say we can't afford it. The retireds don't bother me but the new ones and current beanies shouldn't be sold like that by retailers.
- I hope that Ty will mass produce Princess so that every child can have one and the secondary market will stop making money on the terrible loss of Princess Diana!
- Its totally unfair for people on the secondary market to see BB's before the authorized stores have put them out. How does this happen?
- Not being able to get the new ones!
- I love dinosaurs but I cant get the dinosaur trio because their too expensive. Im just asking why TY created them so kids could buy them with allowances and suddenly their only selling in a limited number of stores and sold at too high a price for kids to ever get enough to buy.
- I love Erin the Bear. He is so cute.
- I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A PRODUCT THAT IS SO POPULAR AND SO PROLIFIC CAN POSSIBLY INCREASE IN VALUE AT THE RATE THAT BEANIES DO. I'M NOT COMPLAINING, YOU UNDERSTAND, IT'S JUST THAT I'M NEW AT THIS (EARLY '98) AND I WORRY THAT IT CAN'T LAST! I HOPE IT DOES BECAUSE I LOVE THEM AND CAN ONLY JUSTIFY MY EXPENSES BY SHOWING MY HUSBAND (WHO, BY THE WAY, COLLECTS HOT WHEELS) HOW MUCH THEY HAVE INCREASED IN VALUE OVER THE YEARS. P.S. BEANIE BABY COLLECTORS ARE THE NICEST PEOPLE I'VE EVER MET!
- i think that inch the worm should retire..to tell u the truth i dont think anyone likes inch the worm...i think he is ugly and think he should retire already!!!
- I think it's a very affordable and fun collectible.
- I really enjoy Beanie baby collecting and hunting. My 12 year old sister has been collecting for 2 1/2 years and she got me hooked. I think the secondary market helps the retireds, but not the currents.
- BB searches are helping me & my friends get thru menopause!
- I really hate having to try and find beanies. when there should be enough to go around without having to go to secondary markets.
- I really enjoy Beanie baby collecting and hunting. My 12 year old sister has been collecting for 2 1/2 years and she got me hooked. I think the secondary market helps the retireds, but not the currents.
- I really hate it that people go to great lenghts to get these at any cost . I once saw a lady pick one up off the floor that a little boy dropped and he started to cry and she wouldnt give it back ! Thats mean
- This is definately an obsession! Every person I know who gets one wants more, more, and more! I call it the Beanie Babie Fever!
- your survey was fun
- I think the beanie baby trend is fun, though somewhat discouraging for someone new, such as myself. How do collectors find out when Nordstroms is getting a shipment, or where to get new beanies so soon, for instance. I guess I'm just an ordinary joe that's not quick enough for these folks.
- I think Ty should make all retailers sell Beanie Babies at 4.99, because it's getting ridiculus paying up to 12.00 for a current. If it is a retired I can see otherwise.
- The people that come into the store and yell at you about not having the new yet and that your prices are to high but yet they are the same one that buy as many as they can and to around and sell them for alot more then they payed for them.
- ty,inc should do better to meet demand .Also to have a more uniform delivery schedule. Some stores get a ton. Some stores get none,
- this is a true addictive illness
- I think thier should be a beanie babie "Nessie" the loch ness monster
- I AM NOT REALLY HAPPY ABOUT THE FACT THAT THERE ARE SUCH LIMITED QUANTITIES OF CERTAIN BEANIES SOME OF US HAVE TO WORK DAYS BY THE TIME I GET TO THE STORES THE BEST ARE ALWAYS GONE THANK FOR THE SURVEY
- I just wish TY would get there act together so the beanies are more available and greedy people get burned...... It bothers me when I take my kids to a store to purchase one beanie and these greedy people are hording the things, they sit outside waiting for the ups truck.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABYS!!!!!
- I love the cuteness of the beanies, and usually, I like the challenge of trying to find them in local stores. I don't like the fact that people are getting hurt in the beanie "mobs" at stores, when they get shipments of beanie babies in.
- I think they will soon come out with a new princess bear
- This has become a fun and exciting hobby. If nothing else comes of it at least I have some very precious stuffed animals for my nieces and nephews. I would like to make enough to pay for my collection but where I live supply and demand are in great competion.
- Sad that children can't afford to have them to play with anymore...
- Why does Ty limit the sale of Beanies like Britiannia, Erin, Maple. It merely drives up prices on the secondary market and keeps collectors from completing collecti9ons.
- This all started very innocently and has snow-balled into a craze at my house. It's a fun hobby and exciting. On one of my beanie "outings" I ran into a neighbor collecting them too. We have a riot contacting each other for new releases. A suggestion for Ty is : Club members should be able to purchase special beanies.
- My familily and I think that Beanie Baby collecting is a great hobby. I love the fact that they are afforable. Kids luv'em and grandmas luv'em!!! I think Ty should have more retirements and more new beanies during the coming year--this would really keep everyone more interested.
- yo, waz ^???
- are there going to be anymore teenie beanie babies made?
- I hate the fact that Ty keeps making new bears but only in limited quantities which makes it impossible for most of us to purchase them. We love the new bears but Ty torments its faithful consumers by not making enough for us to buy them. Why torture us like that? I don't understand why they don't make just as many Princess bears and Erin bears as the rest of the ones out there. Its ridiculous to me.
- Retailers charge too much for new ones
- Why is supply so scarce for new beanies? Do you think they deliberately make errors to increase purchases? Like iggy and rainbow switched tags...seems like a manufactured error to me.
- I think that more beanies should be made because the stores I go to are always sold out!
- I do not think it is fair that a great deal of the retailers are now selling out the back door.
- If TY retires Erin before anyone really has the opportunity to get her, many people will be upset. What they, and the shops are doing is simply wrong.
- When I started collecting about a year ago, I had a lot of fun hunting for the beanies I needed. But lately, supply has not been able to keep up with demand and I find myself becoming frustrated that I can't find that one or two elusive current beanie; but of course I keep looking!
- I do not like how ridiculous pricing has become for new beanies i.e. Princess, Britannia, Erin. I can understand for retireds, although even that is getting a little preposterous. They are adorable but hundreds of dollars for items whose RETAIL price is supposed to be $5.00 is a little disproportionate.
- Do not retire erin, princess, or peace, please? I really want them for a reasonable price! thank you!
- i like doing this
- Some of the prices I'm seeing on the secondary market are pretty surprising, but I believe that these prices are based on supply and demand, and they will naturally decrease when people stop paying them. Unfortunately, until this occurs, the majority of children for whom these toy were initially created won't be able to afford them.
- I think it is horrible that stores mark the prices up on beanie babies it makes me not even want to buy them. (Hello Kitty)Surprise Inside is bad at rasing the prices. They should all sell for about $6-7 a piece
- I love beanie babies,,,,,especially Gracie. My little 3 year old daughter was killed in Sept. 11, 1995 and her name was Grace. Gracie has her birthday. I will own quiet a few Gracies, because of this.
- think the people are going over board on the internet with the prices they want for the beanies
- Cannot compete w/ "pro" collectors! Too hard for children to buy now!
- I am very angry at the Ty retailers who raise the prices on Beanies to secondary market prices. They should lose their right to sell them. Also, stores who are selling Princess and Erin for $200 and not for charity!
- I LOVE BEANIES. BUT I DONT LIKE IT WHEN THEY ONLY MANUFACTURE 12 OF THEM LIKE THEY ARE DOING WITH PRINCESS AND ERIN.
- The hunt makes beanie collecting fun. I think that having a beanie baby that represents a specific country or certain holiday is a great idea. However, I do feel that they beanies should be available world-wide otherwise prices through the secondary market is more than most people can afford.
- That I can never find any of the new ones or the ones I want. I dislike that most of the adults buy BB's for themselves to make money.
- I like how you dont let wal-mart and other big stores sell them.
- I thought the idea behind beanies was to make them affordable for kids to buy with their own money. I am disappointed with the greedy adults who sometimes literally snatch them out of a babes hand to buy and resell.
- why not make new breeds of dogs instead of copying the old ones
- Where are all the brown faced teddies.
- Scalpers on the secondary market
- secondary market
- Princess is too hard to find at a reasonable price
- beanies are here to stay
- To Bad Only 18 Di's put out
- beanies are here to stay
- All I know is that I love Beanie Babies and I haveNO idea what I would do w/o them
- Counterfeiting is going to hurt us all
- BEANIE BABIES RULE, I wish the new one's were easier to find and rare ones. I think blackie,Curly and inch are going to be retireing
- Mr.Warner should make a yellow bear named Sunshine!!!
- secondary retailers make it impossible for the average child to get their favorite beanies at an affordable price.
- I adore beanies! They have to be the best things thats happened to the world. Thanks Ty Warner! :)
- I think Beanie Babies are the best toy that has been made in a long time! They are an adorable toy at an affordable price!!
- I think people are becoming too gready. THe retailers are not allowing those without "connections" to get the harder beanies.
- Add some more sea creatures such as a starfish
- Here are some ideas on Beanies: Stilt the stork, Nails the Hammerhead shark, Spirit the Angel Fish, Pearl the clam and Harley the Roadrunner.
- I think that beanies are great. However, I wish that there were more stores where I live that carried them because often after new releases I am scrambling to find them and suddenly they get retired before I can get them. I don't like the way dealers try to sell certain BB's for way more than their secondary market value. Example: Princess the Bear is supposed to be selling for the regular price 5-10$ so that quote "Everyone has the chance to aquire one". Considering the great love that Diana showed fo
the world, I believe we are taking advantage of something that I'm sure she would want everyone to have the chance at getting. It is a disgrace that following such a terrible tragedy that people are still greedy enough to try to make money off her life and memory. These bears are selling for hundreds of dollars currently, making it very hard for people who truly cared for her to aquire one.
- I think it's great fun. Something my 16 year old daughter and I can still enjoy shopping for together. Prices vary way to much and I have found retailers forcing one to buy 5 to be able to buy a new one and charging $30. for same ones selling in other stores for $5.99. One store in Poughkeepsie, NY selling for $7.99 right next to another that sells for $5. All in all great fun!
- I think that stores such as "Party Tree" should not say you have to buy a $20.00 balloon bouquet w/ a beanie in it to buy a beanie.
- I would love some of the older beanies but they are way to high in price. I donate most of my beanies to a Children's Ministry and try not to pay over $5 but unfortunately some retailers call their friends and reletives and the public does not have a chance.
- I enjoy collecting beanies very much, but "two thumbs down" to stores where you stand in line for hours only to find they have 12 or less of each style, and have let people purchase more than one of each
- i think Princess should be more readly available, to allow the profits to go to charity as intended.
- It is frustrating but also fun.
- Do not like the price gouging on the special beanies! Its hard to tell a 6 year old no, because you can't pay $250 for princess!!
- I LOVE BEANIES!! I'm crazy for them!
- I think there should be a billy goat beanie baby named "kid" or "billy" with a little beard. it would be so cute ! ~:-)
- I need you to do me a favor .Can you E-mail Ty and ask them about a goof up with two beanie babies tthat one of their names are Rainbow and Iggy they are very new .please put your awnser in your web site by next week thank you my name is ***** todays date is 3/9/98
- I am upset that the Erin bear has become impossible to buy for the little guy like me. These were designed to be available to all income levels and now some retailers are keeping all the bears for themselves.
- I need you to do me a favor .Can you E-mail Ty and ask them about a goof up with two beanie babies tthat one of their names are Rainbow and Iggy they are very new .please put your awnser in your web site by next week thank you my name is ***** todays date is 3/9/98
- I love beanies!
- Ty needs to stop selling to retailers who are selling beanies for outrageuos prices. If you look on the internet under beanie buyer home you will see lots of stores sellin multiples for high prices instead of selling them for $5.oo in their stores.
- I need you to do me a favor .Can you E-mail Ty and ask them about a goof up with two beanie babies tthat one of their names are Rainbow and Iggy they are very new .please put your awnser in your web site by next week thank you my name is ***** todays date is 3/9/98
- I hate when people jack up the prices and sell them. I also hate when greedy people take large quantities of them so we can't find them
- I dislike the unavailibility of the Princess bear and the Canandian bear. The secondary market is way out of control. All the people who loved Diana and would like to have this rememberance of her are being held hostage to the all mighty dollar!! Not a good representation of values for children, for a childrens product.!
- I am a minor (13) but I am participating in the Beanie market by purchasing Beanies (old/retires/out-of-production) for less than their value and selling them at full price (example: Slither- bought $200; sold $750). This is how I have made all of my $$$, and now am able to buy whatever I want w/o having to beg my parents for cash. I just think Beanies are something good to invest in. I'll be off to the Stock Market when this Beanie craze is over.
- I believe that the secondary retailers--including flea marketers should be reported to TY- the same people around here get in line and don't allow others to get what they do not have in their own collections.
- I hate the that it's so hard to find the new ones in the store. I buy these as rewards for good school work. Now that its so hard to find them and the money they cost really takes the fun out of it.
- retire tie dye and three bunnies
- People will actually pay over 2000 for a small stuffed animal? Incredibly NUTS!
- I would like to know what the deal is with the Erin bear
- I think that Ty should produce the same amount for each beanie babie so that everyone can enjoy them all.
- I just bought a princess for $200, I have a suspision that the value isn't going to drop very much.
- Many retailers tell me that they have no idea when they will be receiving a new shipment and I find that hard to believe. There is one store in particular that I visit that gets a shipment every Wednesday. How is it possible that they are aware of their shipment dates and others are not?
- need more tigers
- I am very tired of "fanatics" that are allowed to buy 7,8,9,and 10 of the same "babies" at once so they can make big money on their duplicates. They do not allow others that wait in long lines to get the hard to obtain beanies.
- I would love to be able to buy retail. However, I work days and cannot stand in lines or 'drop everything' and run to a store that has some available. Therefore I am subject to buying/selling on the internet. The secondary market has been a life saver for my collecting. I do, however, feel that beginning prices for new babies are WAY TOO HIGH! Princess I can understand, but Erin at $150 and up is absolutely absurd! I have a few older collectables, but I prefer mine without hang tags. They are ju
t as sweet (after all, it is the babie that attracts us) without the tags. The loss of 15-50% for hang tag damage or missing is really a shame. Otherwise, it is a great hobby for me!
- I think if Ty made more of Princess and sold them in quantity he would still make alot of money for Di's charities and would give everyone a chance to have this great beanie. I also feel he should have let the retailers get more of ERIN so that there is plenty to go around for St. Patricks Day. And one more thing, these critters are way addicting!!!!!
- Dislike dealers that charge high prices for new beanies(ie. ERIN)
- How about different colored cocker spaniels?
- I LOVE ALL BENAIE BABIES! BUT I AM ONLY 12 AND I RARELY EVER GET TO TRAVEL VERY FAR TO GET THEM AND THEY NEVER HAVE THEM IN REGULAR STORES LIKE WAL.MART OR TARGET CAN YOU PLEASE TY WARNER LET YOUR BEANIES IN REGULAR STORES SO US KIDS CAN GET SOME CUTE LITTLE BEANIES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I LIKE ALL BENAIE BABIES!
- THE GREED INVOLVED IS MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO ENJOY FINDING OR BUYING THESE ANYMORE. I HEAR ERIN IS GOING FOR OVER 200.00 HOW ARE CHILDREN SUPPOSE TO AFFORD THIS MR WARNER? THE PRINCESS IS STILL RIPPING PEOPLE OFF!!!! NOT TO MENTION THE PRINCESS OF WALES FUND!
- I think that Gobbles the turkey, is going to retire next, because if they already retired the 1997 Teddy, and Snowball the Snowman, then they are probably going to retire soon Gobbles, Batty, and Spinner.
- I think the way they are selling "Princess the Bear" on the secondary market is terrible. If they auction her off for money for the charitys like should be done then the high prices are great. Just to have her sitting on the shelf somewhere for $200 is not cool! Ty should step in and do something about that. The same thing will end up happening with "Daisy the cow" and other in the future. Ty should be able to step in and do something they own the beanies.
- I think it stinks that TY is not giving stores as many Beanie Babies. They need to make more.
- I think it is terrible that some retailers are price gouging the current beanie babies. People that support these retailers are doing other consumers an injustice and are just contributing to greed instead of a fun hobby and collectible!
- Princess
- I just LOVE all the beanies babies I have, although the Teddy Bears are my favorite. I am very upset about the secondary market having so many beanies to sell. I know that it would be hard to keep them off the secondary market altogether, but something should be done about it.
- I just LOVE all the beanies babies I have, although the Teddy Bears are my favorite. I am very upset about the secondary market having so many beanies to sell. I know that it would be hard to keep them off the secondary market altogether, but something should be done about it.
- I took your survey because in my Soc100 class we are also soing a survey and writing a paper on Beanies
- BEING ABLE TO PURCHASE NEW BEANIES WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED. I THINK IT IS VERY WRONG WHEN WE CAN NOT GET THE BEANIES, WITHOUT GETTING PUSHED DOWN AT THE STORES.
- I love this site..it is all here
- I like the tie dyed beanies the best!
- Beanies were intended for kids but it seems that only adults are the ones that are buying them. I've seen adult women push each other -- and children -- down to get at the Beanies. I've seen them yell at store owners. I've seen them hoard armload of beanies and turn around and sell them at garage sales and flea markets. Thanks to these greedy adults, I've also seen kids -- most of whom probably would just like to play with Beanies -- start screaming and crying if they can't have a particular Beanie th
ir parent has told them they should have. It would be nice if Beanies were sold everywhere so the second hand market and all the greedy individuals who have created it would be destroyed and children would have a chance to use their allowance to buy themselves a Beanie on occasion. The whole trend makes me embarrassed.
- I don't think It is a good idea for TY to retire Erin right after St. Patrick's Day because they haven't even come to our town yet. It's just not fair that everybody doesn't get a chance to get Erin the bear.
- I LOVE ALL OF THE BEANIES! I AM ONLY DISAPPOINTED IN HOW HARD IT IS TO GET SOME OF THEM.
- I would like to see retailers who are ripping off the general public dropped
- the only thing that bothers me is when i see listed for sale 100 of something such as erin or princess when a normal person cant find them .i dont think collecting then is as fun ,i know the few stores in our area that got erin and princess sold them to dealers instead of putting them out .kids buying then with their allowence is not going to happen .i appreciate those stores still selling them at a price kids can afford.
- I would like to see it become easier for new collectors to become involved ,
- please keep the trend going
- I love them but wish they were easier to find!
- Retailers are selling "HOT" BB's out the "backdoor" at tremendous profits. Does not give anyone even a chance at ever getting i.e. a Princess or Erin. These retailers should have their Ty accounts taken away!
- More, More Beanie Babies are needed
- People should make currents more available at reasonable prices.. even the stores around my area are selling Erin for 225. When I dropped off a benie at the Embassy for Princess Diana, we ended up in USA Today , Ty tracked us down and sent us a personal note with 2 beanies. I think that was VERY nice and I always stand with by my feelings even when there are negative comments about him. I think this whole Princess thing got out of hand becaiuse she was meant for charity! I won her at a charity raffle.
- I'm tired of being hung up on by retailers saying, "No more Beanie calls!" I predict there will be a slew of new Beanies before July 1, 1998.
- Frustration in trying to obtain Erin & Princess, Hard to find Peace, his price should be 5-7.00 as should be Curly and Valentino. These also are hard to find. My biggest grip would be the store employees who gobble these up before they hit the shelves for the public. Disgusted with TY for holding out. They could be doing more to meet the demand.
- The thing that I dislike the most is the fact that retailers are ordering directly from Ty and marking the premium beanies way up and Ty is doing absolutely nothing about it.
- Do not think it is right that the stores are selling both the new ones and princess and nost likely erin for more than the rest. They buy them for what I am told for around $3 each. They are making some profit on these and do not think it is right when young children are wanting them as well as the adults who wish to purchase thena and can't afford the $200 plus that they are selling for.
- I hope no one buys anymore Princesses for more than 6 dollars
- please do collage mascots "UNC RAM"
- I am very discouraged by the resent trend of retailers to jack up prices on beanie babies when they hear that they might be hard to find. I resently was in a store that was selling stretch for 50.00!!! Outrageous. I have also enacoutered peace bears, where available for also up to 50.00. It should be monitored better, remember this was originally meant for children and once again adults take over and ruin it for all.
- please do collage mascots "UNC RAM"
- Beanies make me happy, they put a smile on my face. I've given them as gifts to sick and injured people, instantly there's a smile on their face and they cuddle, talk, and pet the Beanie. For as little as $5.00 you can make youself or someone else happy. They do multiply fast though, all it takes is 1 Beanie Baby and you're hooked.
- retailers who charge over $6.00 should be dropped.
- I bet you anything in mid March we'll have a retirement.
- It really upsets me when the authorized retailers sell certain beanies for at least 20x the purchase price from Ty.
- I dislike the way Ty is trying to make money off of the death of Princess Diana by limiting the amount of Princess Bears and increasing the price to over 300 dollars each.
- I am truly unhappy with retailers that do not put their beanies out, they take all the good ones and sell them out the back door!!. This creates an unfair pricing arena in the secondary market! I'd love to be a Beanie Patrol Police to stop this!
- I wish I could buy Princess Di for a reasonable price.
- ty needs to open
- i would like see some of the retired go down
- I think more restrictions need to be placed on retailers who sell beanies at outrageous prices. I personally believe that any current beanie should not be sold for over $7.00 by a retailer but that bears could be sold for as high as $10. It should be remembered that the retailers buy the beanies for $2.50 each and that beyond that, they have an obligation to their customers to be fair. As for retirees that come to the retailers on back orders, I am undecisive. I know of a local retailer who sells t
em for $12.50 each, which is reasonable, but like I said previously, they only pay $2.50 each. I look for the beanie craze to die down drastically because, speaking for myself, I am discouraged with trying to get the last few beanies I need to complete my current collection (princess, peace, and erin). I am tired of having to fight crowds and wait in lines only to find out all the other beanies from that month's order arrived except the ones I was waiting all that time for.!!! Thank-you for letting me ge
all of this off my chest!
- I think Patti, Chocolate or Pinchers will be next to "go."
- I have collected antiques all of my life. I always thought I'd never collect a new item, I just didn't get the draw to something new. But, now I am hooked! I really don't want to pay big money for the retired ones I don't have, but I am seriously considering expanding into the TY Plush. I really appreciate the internet sites of info. Living in Wyoming, seems to limit our purchasing opportunities. We are shopping deprived, since we have to drive 200 miles one way to get to a mall!! Thanks, Beth
- I only wish there were more available so that all children were able to purchase the beanies they want . Due to long lines of people waiting during the day for the beanies in stores , working parents with children are not able to acquire the beanies by the time school and work are out secondary markets ,etc have already purchased the beanies leaving the shelves empty for many children
