- Beanies are so hard to find, that when I do find them the prices are way jacked up and I can't afford them. Sometimes my Mom or Day will loan me the money if it isn't too much and then put it in the 'beanie vault' at home until I earn the money to pay fo
- I don't think it is right that the retailers pay a couple of dollars for Princess and Erin and Brittania and they sell them for the highest bid. If they do that then they should have to pay more for their beanies.
- Secondary Market is too Greedy, and needs to remeber that beanies are for KIDS!!!!!!!
- I LOVE beanie Babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- It is very hard for the middle class person to purchase an Erin or Princess . My grandaughter wants one of each of these terribly and we cannot afford the outrageous prices.
- Because of the greed on the secondary market I see this fad fading in the next year. No one will be able to get the retired versions
- I also think Bones,Zip,Patti,Chocolate,Curly,Crunch,Hippity,Hoppity,Floppity,Blackie,and Scottie.
- Ty should not make Princess so hard tofind!
- I love beanies and hope to get the whole collection.
- I like beanie babies, and I think that they are fun. I also think that it is frustrating for people not ot be able to find them for $5-7 like they used to be. It kind of takes the fun out of collecting them - especially for kids.
- I love Beanie Babies
- not enough availability on new arrivals
- Retailers that charge Too much
- Keep your beanies!!!! I sold Humphrey, orange digger, and many older ones. Now they are worth hundreds $ more!!
- MORE PLACES TO BUY
- Maintain current prices
- Don't think it can last till the end of the year.
- I love this whole crazy thing!!! The internet has helped create this secondary market pheonomonem.....it is a fun way for collectors to be in touch with each other. In December I felt a slow down in the interest of collectors, now it seems there are more collectors than ever joining in.
- dislike retailers who don't have storefronts and undercut the secondary market people who have to pay higher prices for their beanies.
- If people collect them because they like them...then there is no problem. If you collect them because you think they are "valuable", then you will lose because it won't last. I predict many garage sales in the future to have beanie babies for sale.
- My mom got me started collecting. She asked me to find some for her that she could not find in her state. She is a private collector, and collects one of each beanie baby. As I was out shopping for her, I realized how cute they are and picked up a couple for myself. Before I knew it I was hooked. This is my confession: I have become a BEANIE BABY JUNKIE!
- I think they should sell Beanie Babies for $3.00.
- i l;ove it all
- Ty needs to release a whitetail deer, golden retriever and chocolate lab soon!
- I think your site is great! I love the awesome contests! You did a great job!!!
- Lack of ability for TY to get prodict to store on time
- what a craze!
- We need to find out how to stop Store owners from taking their new stock and giving it to someone they know to sell on the secondary market without putting them on their shelves!
- I think TY has strict enough rules, but it seems to have trouble enforcing them.
- I love collecting beanies for myself and this has been a great way of having fun and bonding with the grandchildren. And Grandpa has even joined in with the fun of this!! I would really like it better if they weren't so hard to get!! Even though that is part of the fun of it. It still makes it awfully hard to collect for yourself and seven granchildren and great grandchildren though when they are so hard to fin. Especially when you work all day and then when you get off and have a chance to go and
ook and they say we had them this morning but they are all gone now! I really think that the greed of some retailers and the secondary market it unfair. Again especially when you are buying for several grandchildren. I hope Ty keeps up the good quality but makes them a little more plentiful.
- Why is Peace so hard to get???????
- LOVE THEM ALL
- Retailers that keep Princess & Erin to sell on the secondary market should be reported & lose their TY distributorship immed.
- I think retailers who mark up beanies like Princess and Erin should be reported. It is absurd. Those of us that have children who collect beanies cannot even obtain these beanies due to the outrageous prices. Some even go as far as auctioning or raffling these off or selling only to regular/special customers. It is especially difficult for those of us that have more than one child and they all want the elusive beanies. I am a working mom and don't get to go stand in lines and follow the UPS man li
e some of these beanie crazed people do. I AM OUTRAGED!!!!!
- I don't like peace bear. Lots of people consider the peace sign a bad sign & to collect all of the beanies you have to have him.
- I would like to see Erin out to retailers for sale, not just 13 either. You are hurting alot of people that cant afford to pay big money for them.
- Beanies should continue only to be sold in small outlets such as is now the case. Retailers who price goudge and sell multiples (of more than 2 or 3 of ea.) should be dropped as customers of Ty Inc. Ty is one of the only businesses that has been ethical enough to continue to make an excellent product at a reasonable price. I assume this was because they wanted ordinary people ( & kids) to be able to have Beanies. The best thing Ty Inc. could do is stop shipping to retail outlets who CHEAT and STEAL f
om the public by paying $6 or $7 dollars for a beanie and selling them for $100 and more. If you think it would be hard to find out who does this, just let us ( ordinary collectors) know. We'll send you a list in a hurry!!! Beanies are delightful. Nobody can look at one without smiling at the cute face so full of personality!! But please let's keep them available for the people who love them , NOT for the GREEDY, DISHONEST, UNSCRUPULOUS, CREEPS of retailers who try top spoil it for everyone!!!!!
- i just get them for my girlfriend because she likes them and i like her
- beanie babies are soooo ridiculous!!! get a life all of you obsessed, crazy beanie collectors. take the time you spend searching for the stupid things and spend it with your children or grandchildren. or at least spend the money on a new pair of shoes or a monthly payment or something. get a clue!!! i buy them and my dog gets them--how does it make you feel to know that he got peace bear and tore him to shreds? haa haa haa haa
- I wish the retired beanies were more accessible. I just found out about them, so I know there are quite a few which I won't ever get.
- I live in a small town & it seems that we get most of our beanies quite a while after other areas do. Is this normal or is it the west coast in general is later receiving their shipments? I wonder how long this phenominon can go on? The prices just seem to be skyrocketing week after week.
- I think the method Ty uses to limit certain Beanies SUCKS! But good marketing strategy...
- I don't belive that TY creates this frenzie I believe that they are shipping plenty of beanies and that the store owners are receiving more personal gain by selling new releases and "HTG'S" thriugh auctions and 2 nd hand markets, therfore I feal these retailers should just offer then to us at higher prices then they would'nt be so hard to get.
- I wish that they were more easier to find in my area(Denver). I'm not particularly happy that shipments are few especially for the more popular animals like the bears.re pop

- Authorized stores that sells beanie babies should not charge more than $7.00 for each beanies. For example, there's this store manager/owner who tells his customer to buy any non beanie merchandise for a value of $250.00 and the customer could buy Erin or Princess for $7.00 plus tax. The other scenario is is buy one dozen of current beanies and get one Valentino for $7.00.
- It upsets me the way some dealers aren't treated fairly - that is, they aren't receiving Princess or Erin even though they have sold Ty products for over 5 years.
- I think it would be nice to have a beanie for parents...one for mother's day and father's day...mama bear, papa bear and of baby bear....stuff like that...one for the animals that are no longer around, extinct..keep the beanies coming but watch the retailers, they brag on how they sell to dealers for a large sum
- I think there are far too many commemoratives!!
- I think that Ty is the best thing that happened to plush toys , they are great!!!!!
- Question 15 should have a "all" category. I have spoken with several men & women in their 50s who have been bitten by the beanie bug and are obsessed with collection them (me included), I think it's fun and a nice way to make new friends. Do you suppose that it's a plot?
- don't like people that buy alot of each kind, so they can sell them, and older people who don't have any kids and make it hard for the kids to get any of the Beanies
- I think retailers that sell them for $25.00 each should be denied any further shipments. I don't complain about secondary market traders because they invested time, gas, etc in tracking these.
- I love Beanie Babies!! May they last forever!!!!!!
- Ty should make fewer kinds of beanies so it can produce more of the ones it does produce so stores can get more than 36 of each style per month, especially in large metro market areas .
- there is one dealer in grapvine tx. who is selling them for way more then there worth(ex:libearty,$450!!!!!!!!!!
- I THINK THEY SHOULD RETIRE ALL THE BEANIES AND COME OUT WITH 100 NEW ONES ON THE SAME DAY
- I think that Ty should not make ugly beanies, like Spinner. (Not Offending Spinner though.) I think he could make a lot more cuter ones then Spinner.
- Beanies Are great investments!!
- Beanies Are great investments!!
- The main purpose I collect them is it is fun!!!
- Beanies Are great investments!!
- Beanie Babies like Princess and Erin are too expensive for me! I'M JUST A KID!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- the store owners seem to hoard beanies
- I love Beanie Babies, but they are a real addiction. I think Betty Ford needs to open a new wing at her clinic for Beanie Addicts like us!!
- Beanies like Princess should be produced more so that everyone who wants her can buy her.
- They are too expensive.
- They are wonderful childrens toys at the $5.00 price, we have alot because they are the most played with, slept with, loved toys the kids own (even my son but he wont admit it!)
- we are hoping to see a beanie house and a beanie little town some day
- I think the prices of beanie babies is increasing rapidly. I think it's rediculious to pay more then $10 for a little stuffed animal. The prices and stock should be better controlled.
- I really do get sickened when I walk into a secondary dealer and see shelves of hard to find new bears at prices that are 50 times what I would pay at a retail store. Where are they getting them. All I ever here from licensed dealers is they haven't seen any Erins, princess etc. yet. And it makes it even worse when they smirk as they say it.
- if there are so many of these beanie babies everywhere, then why in the world are they selling for so much money? I think its crazy to pay over $10 for them!
- There are 16 or more dogs! I sure hope Ty retires some other ones soon! I don't like how Ty makes so many dogs but retires so little of them. Only three of them are retired, Spot, Spot without a spot, and Sparky!
- I think it is a disgrace to have store clerks sell a beanie to me, 12 years old, for over $6!
- disappointed that we are unable to purchase the princess bear and erin bear for a reasonable price anywhere in our area. I hope that all these greedy secondary market people and the regular stores that have price tags of over $200 choke on them. I have 2 very disappointed children that love collecting beanie babies that can't even touch one of these bears. It's to bad Ty couldn"t have flooded the market with them so the price stayed within reason. He certainly did not have the best interest of these l
ttle ones in mind.
- I think that if we are all patient, we can all get Princess or Erin for reasonable prices. we just need to watch for them and let them get more common.
- It's Great Fun, and I enjoy it
- I think that they shouldn't make all the bears limited sales because the people that collect just the bears don't have alot to purchase and not everyone has the opportunity to purchase because of the lack of supply and demand like is available with all the other beanies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- I feel that it is unethical for retail stores to create their own secondary market.
- we like beanie babies
- I wish adults would stop fighting children for beanies. They were made for children not greedy adults.
- My daughter and I LOVE BEANIES (and Disney's too)
- Ty has really let the retailers get out of hand with beanie babies. The price gouging, back door selling, etc... has got to stop. Many collectors and potential new collectors are getting turned off by the retailers. When a new beanie is introduced, it's the one that kids want the most. Unfortunately, they usually can't get their hands on it until it's been on the market for several months. It also burns out collectors who can't afford the sky high prices. Ty shouldn't release new beanies until th
y have enough to send at least 24 beanies to 85% of their store accounts.
- People who find out about information about BB and go and buy out all the BB. Also people on the secondary market that just go to reseal. Not for collecting.
- give it back to the children!
- People who find out about information about BB and go and buy out all the BB. Also people on the secondary market that just go to reseal. Not for collecting.
- I think Ty should create "Bathtime Beanies." They would be made of terrycloth so that they can safely go in the water.
- we love beanies but would like to see more new ones and that they be easier to find in the beginning
- It won't last!
- I love Beanie Babies!!!
- I dislike it when people sell Beanies for more than $20 if they are not retired
- (question) how come everybody is crazy about beanies besides there cute and everybody loves them?
- I have been famillar with Beanie Babies since late 1995 when my Mother began buying them for my children as gifts. I knew of "Trap" the mouse since then and I still have yet to see one let alone even hold one in my hand. I have been looking for "Trap" along with my Mother & friends for three years and there is no way I will pay over $1000.00 for him. I guess i'll have to wait for the lottery to fall my way in order to obtain him. Thanks for listening to me complain about my lack of "Trap" being in my f
milies collection. Keep up the GREAT work.!.!.! =O)
- I started buying Beanies for my seven grandchildren and found them so much fun that I started saving one each for myself. The count that I submitted for the survey varies as I send Beanies to the grandchildren for every special ocassion and inbetween as
- I can't beleive that I am appart of this crazy thing! But once you've started, it is hard to stop! I wish that the retailer's would think a little bit more about strategy in handling crazy beanie Mom shoppers within the store. Some order and control needs to be taken by the retailers! Please help.
- retired are to expencive so unable to get the entire collection just so i can have one of each, just because i like them not to make lots of money
- Why make some so rare and unattainable like Princess or Erin, the majority of people will never see them.
- IT WOULD BE NEAT IF TY MADE A GRASSHOPPER NAMED SPITTY
- I'm interested in becoming a dealer
- I love the popularity of it, but I worry that people don't realize that kid's should be allowed to enjoy them too!!
- i dislike the fact that they might go out off fashions
- Iggy the Igauna is a character on a tv show Under the Umbrella tree. Most of the stores in our area pulled their Princesses and Erin and sold to the secondary market.
- I Love Beanies !!!!!!!
- I wish that the secondary market wouldn't mark current beanies up so high. It's just not fair to the regular collectors. I can see the price of a retired beanie going up in price. That is expected. But in the instance of Princess and Erin....this is terrible. It's impossible to get your hands on one of these bears for less than $100. Why? Because people are holding them for secondary dealers and not letting them out to the public. I can't say that I would be sympathetic to those of you who pai
BIG BUCKS for these two bears, if Ty were to come out with AMPLE SUPPLY of these bears and all the rest of us were able to purchase them for $5 each. It would serve you right and the persons trying to make a BUNDLE on these little bears to loose some money. Let the currents be current, would ya?
- I get most upset by seeing postings on Ty's site regarding a "dozen" Erin's or Princesses. I have not been able to find one of either and know that it's not likely to happen because of unscrupulous dealers and retailers.
- I love Beanies as you can tell from my survey! They are great! I am only missing Britannia the bear and that's it!
- i would like to be able to buy from ty
- don't like how greedy adults have taken fun away from the kids
- new reteries might be: Jolly, Patti, Gobbles, Twigs, Valentino, Peace, Curly, Blizzard
- i htink the value of bb's will go way up after ty stops making them
- I think that Squealer, Zip, Snip, Hppy, Inky, Inch, Mystic, Bones, and Daisy will retire.
- When new Beanies are introduced, I would prefer they be plentiful in the retail stores--I have not even SEEN ERIN the BEAR and St. Patrick's Day is over!! Let's get them out in a more timely manner.
- I feel retailers for TY should not!!!!!!!!!!! be allowed to sell beanies for more than $4.99 and those that are reported to TY should have all shipments suspended immediately. These cute little guys were created originally with love for children. Now the children can't even find them to purchase and if by chance they do find one to buy, someone makes them put it away because it is worth money. This is a crime against the children and should not be tolorated!!!!!!!
- GOOD
- Beanies are cool!!!!
- I live in a small town and we only have 5 places that sell Beanie Babies. There are some retailers who never got Princess in their January shipment, and I think that this is unfair. The big cities get their shipments complete and on time. Ty is not doing a good job of distributing, and small towns are the ones that suffer the most.
- I dislike the fact that Ty Distributors get beanies that are not retired and sell for outrageous prices
- I like the great people who I have stood in lines with and chatted until the store opened and we got beanies, but I dislike some of the others who are dealers there or are trying to get all the BB and resell them for big bucks...come on guys....its a fun thing....why is everybody in stuff for the money????
- i feel that ty should send more bears out to all the stores he deals with just as many as any other beanie, because children all over want them just as much as an adult or collector or business person and parents and children get very frustrated if they can't ever get them and i'm afraid people will eventually lose interest in them also i don't feel any retailer should be allowed to change the prices to ridiculous amounts so average family people can't afford them it started out for kids and i think i
should stay there i feel once youve had the chance to buy them then its your fault you passed them up and when they retire its ok for the prices to soar but not when they are currrent and in the stores for sale. the stores that raise the price should be fined or dropped from his accounts. I have 5 kids and i like beanies and so do my family members and its impossible sometimes to find 1 certain current one. We all love beanies in this family and i hope they'll be around a long time to come.
- The bears are much too difficult to purchase at a reasonable price.
- I predict they will make a Mexican bear named*Ole'*Since I live near mexico, it will be easy to get!
- I love the little things, each one is so creative. I would like to see some retired and some new ones come out.
- I don't feel it is very fair for the retailers, such as Hallmark, to start seeling prices above ten dollars, when they should be seven or so. What's going on? I am trying to continue the collection that was started for my son when he was born a few months ago, but I can't afford to buy all the new releases, or just retireds for outrageous prices. If people or merchants have them in stock, they should continue to sell them at average prices. I want my son to enjoy his collection and to become an avi
collector, but if we can't afford the Beanies then this collection will come to an abrupt end. There is no way we could catch up, with the merchants selling them at more than $20. Will something be done about this?
- I wish we all could go to a store and get Princess
- I predict that retired BB's will continue to increase in value with older ones increasing the most. I think many currents will be retired within next 6 months.
- Hardship on handiecap people trying to get Beanies
- i feel that retailors get a bad rap about beanie we are tired of people calling all the time about them and thats not to mention all the people that come in and ask if we have them and no one believes you when you say you dont have princess or erin (i think alot of the customers are rude)
- I love 'em!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- it's fun!!!!, but some secondary market people are absolutely too carried away w/ this.....waiting in front of stores all day for a particular beanie baby is ridiculous
- The fact that the stores just don't put them out. They sort through them first for retireds and then call people they have on a special list.
- I think at least 1bb should retire every month.
- I wish they cost less and make more new ones
- I don't like the way TY is making Beanie Babies with less quality then before.
- MAKE MORE BEARS!!!
- I love Beanies (a LOT) but I am very dissapointed in how most secondary market sellers are so greedy. I mean, selling Britannia for 100's or 1000's of dollars??!! And Princess, meant to be a charity item, has now become just a profitable item to the greedy Beanie collectors who can get their hands on them. Then, the people (such as myself) who only want the beanies to enjoy, cannot get a Princess or a Beanie like Chops (whom I want because he has my birthday) because those who are selling them for craz
prices. It's kind of a big dissapointment! Oh yes...lets not forget those TBB's....the greedy incidents there are too numerous to name!
- I DISLIKE TY LIMITING ERIN TO 12 PER STORE AND THOSE 12 ENDING UP BEING SOLD ON THE SECONDARY MARKET FOR $225.OO TO 325.00.
- I hate that dealers are selling the news on the secondary markert bofre they retail them, we have four ty dist. in Jacksonville Il that rent booth space in a collectible mall and mark them very high, most people going in there don't know that they are distributors, they think they are buying from secondary market but they are not, only paying the price. I refuse to buy from these people, even though we sometimes have to wait for two months to get the ones at a small town drug store near here.
- I love beanies and I understand that other people like to collect them and everything to but people shouldn't have to spend more than $20 to get a beanie. If they do then they are being sort of beanie greedy. Just remember..."You can't take it with you!"
- beanie baby clothes are way too expensive
- secondary prices suck!
- It upsets me that the new beanies are available to the secondary market before my local stores even get them in. Also, same thing goes for retiring the 97 Teddy and Snowball before they even hit the markets. I also had heard to be patient and Princess would be available in masses. Haven't seen this yet!
- My husband start buying beanie babies. At the time he thought to was crazy that people were going crazy over a bean bag. Well, he purchased Digger and Seaweed for our children. He found out that Digger retired the next day and he was offered $80 for it. He did not sell and that started the craze. We have never paid more than $30 for one and the big ones we have (like Garcia) we strictly traded for. Digger is our favorite because it was our first. Now we have started into the plush line.
- I think grow-ups are getting way to greedy with beanies. Whenever my grandma and I look for them, they're gone. Tell grown-ups to lay off and let the kids do the hunting.
- My biggest gripe is that TY only lets dealers have one dozen of new beanies (like Erin) this makes the price for them skyrocket. I like that TY retires often and releases new ones often. I think Princess will be retired April 1, because of the re-application problems with Diana charity. And then because of all the controversy with the sale of her, she will be retired .
- I think Beanie Babies are the most wonderful little items that I've ever collected.
- Sad to see people so very greedy regarding selling Princess. I imagine she would be disappointed, also.
- I very much dislike out local Hallmark stores requiring an unrelated purchase in order to have the "right" to buy a Beanie Baby -- probably against company policy...
- I would like to see beanie babies become more available to everyone.
- I like the regular price..eg. 5 to 7 dollars each.....but dislike greedy retailers who jack up prices and take advantage of consumers. Also, the retailers who sell their harder to find beanies on the secondary market and not in their retail stores, it doesn't seem fair to those of us who continue to hunt daily for the ones we don't have. We don't even have the chance to get them when greedy people act that way.
- I don't like it when authorized dealers "set back" beanies to sell later and jack the prices up. I feel beanie babies were orginal made for children, price was low enough so any child could purchase one for either themselves or as a gift. Adults have ruined it for the kids. I especially detest the stores raising the price of the new beanies when they have only been out for a short period of time.
- Dealers selling out the back door to secondary marketers, doesn't enable the collector the opportunity to purchase at fair market value. This forces the collector to purchase from a secondary market at an inflated price.
- I like the secondary market as it's almost the only place I've been able to obtain beanies, but they're getting way too greedy! Also, TY should crack down on dealers that sell Princess and Erin's out the back door without putting them on the shelves. I don't know of any other product that's been done this way. How do people get them before the stores do?
- upset that erin wasn't out 3-17-98 thats not nice....it was for $250.00 i may sell al of mine and get out.. I've spent $1000.already
- I am dreading when McDonald's comes out with their new beanies, I was extremely disappointed with the lack of consistency last year had. Burger King will not give out a new toy until the following week when scheduled, whether they are out of the current one or not. I believe Ty & McD's should follow this practice this year to allow people from all income levels a chance at getting all of them. As a single Mom trying to go to school I can't afford to buy McD's 10 times in one day!
- I collect tie dyed beanies..Thanks :)
- Dealers selling out the back door to secondary marketers, doesn't enable the collector the opportunity to purchase at fair market value. This forces the collector to purchase from a secondary market at an inflated price.
- I know secondary sellers are selling them to make a profit, but why is it that a retail store can sell a Beanie at secondary prices?
- Do NOT like the retired value going up so high that new collectors have no chance to afford any. Do NOT like the shortages of Princess and others, like Maples & Britannia. Do think they are all (or almost all) CUTE! Makes me feel like a kid again!!!
- I WANT A LAMA
- I dislike authorized retailers selling new beanies at secondary market prices and/or not selling the hard to finds in their stores, but rather selling their shipment to a secondary source.
- I'm on my way to a psychiatrist tomorrow
- retailers getting in a shipment of erins or princess and acting like they were only shipped 2....i believe they are selling them on the secondary market for $150-$250
- I love the BB but people got to greedy for my wallet
- To me it is amazing how much people will pay for a retired beanie. I do not like the fact that the retired beanies and the beanies like Britannia are not acessible to hard working people like me. I cannot aford to pay $400 + for a beanie babies. Being handicapped and not able to go to the special ballgames and get a special beanie, it not fair. I believe some of these beanies will retire. They are patti, pinchers, spike, Bones, twigs, pouch and beanies will continue to be popular for a while.
- I enjoy collecting but don't care for retailers that accept the highest bid for a beanie. My children use their money to buy and are automatically eliminated due to this practice.
- i dont like that one of the hallmark stores in my area are selling princess bear for $200 dollars and $10 for the new releases when they are all going to be produced for a while.
- I want to get Princess,Eirn,Britannia, and Maples for $5.50 . Can you tell me where I can buy them? My allowance is $5.00 a week. I am 10 years old. Please E-Mail me at kristetang@aol.com
- I am totally enjoying the entire beanie phenomenon!
- I am totally enjoying the entire beanie phenomenon!
- I think retailers should have to sell at regular price and not be able to make you purchase a certain amount of their merchandise to have the privale to buy a Beanie Baby !!!!!!!!!!!!
- I have yet to see a Princess or Erin in any stores-how is the average person supposed to find these items. Stores that charge exessive prices for beanies should loose their licence to sell them.
- It's amazing how this cute critters have become so popular! I never paid any attention to them until the McDonald's promotion with the Teenies last year, but once I started...I was hooked (and I've gotten a couple other people hooked in the process-LOL)! I think Ty should come up with some sort of regular retirement schedule. It seems like every 4 or 5 months the rumor mill goes ballistic & maybe something more "schedule-like" would help keep people from panicking over the retirements a bit.
- Just don't like retailers that are charging more than they should for the new and hard-to-find beanies!
- I feel like they will be around for a long time. Changing the tags and putting Birthdates & Poems on the tag is a remarkable idea to track the year and time of year the Beanie was made. I think the Beanies will hold there value and keep going up.
- This was started as a hobby to enjoy with my 6 and 8 year old girls. They achieved so many good grades, they got a beanie. We were enjoying. It is now difficult to explain that they won't have a Princess or Erin, because as the watch the Gold Crown Store take them from a box, the next step is to the box under the counter and their price will be $250.00+. I will do the best I can, but, I will not play into whatever game is being played.
- why are the new ones costing so much and are so hard to find?
- just that i enjoy , and am glad i started collecting
- i wish that beanie babies had a larger availabilty
- I don't like the way retailers are maintaining the idea that some beanies are hard to find by holding back their shipments and then driving up the primary market prices by acutioning them off as in the case of the Erin and Princess bears. I would like to remind everyone to remain patient and ty will get their orders out so everyone can get these beanies at a reasonable price. Please don't participate in these auctions that is driving the prices through the roof.
- I predict the trio of bunnies to retire next. I wish TY dealers would not put limits on what beanies we purchase and require other store sales in order to purchase beanies
- I really like the way TY deals with distributing all Beanies except the way he distributed Princess and Erin. They shouldn't be impossible to find, because that is very frustrating and causes some collectors to drop teh "hobby," I love all Bears and love the whole phenomenon.
- I wish Ty would not releases beanies that we cannot obtain without paying big bucks for because it is not sold in our area. Also I would like to know if everyone else (Europe and the UK were able to by our American Trio!
- Nothin I guess
- SOME SECONDARY MKT PRICES ARE JUST RIDICULOUS!SHOULDN'T THIS STILL BE AFFORDABLE TO CHILDREN?
- I love it when I purchase a Beanie Baby for $5 and it soars to $50 in a week.
- retire-chocolate,patti,pouch,roary...... . idea for new= set of deer( jane doe & shawn fawn ? )
- where will it end
- Make the bears more available!
- Beanies are cool. There will be a beanie show in corte Madera calif. in april on the 4
- i would like to se cheape ones
- MY DAUGHTER LOST INTEREST WHEN WE COULD NEVER FIND ANY AND WHEN WE DID WE HAD TO STAND IN THE HEAT OUTSIDE FOR 3 HOURS - WHEN WE FINALLY WENT INTO THE STORE THERE WAS A LIMIT OF 3 PER FAMILY AND THEY ONLY HAD THE OLD BEANIES THAT WE ALREADY HAD. ALL OF THE NEW BEANIES HAD BEEN PURCHASED TWO HOURS BEFORE. THE YOUNG FELLOW IN CHARGE SEEMED TO GET HIS EGO BUILT AS HE HEARDED US ALL LIKE COWS. I LOST INTEREST AT THIS TIME ALSO.
- retailers that put huge prices on beanies
- I DON'T LIKE PEOPLE TAKING BEANIES OUT OF MY HAND
- I DON'T LIKE RETAILERS CHARGING $25.00 FOR SOMETHING THEY PAID $2.50 FOR. NOT ALL PARENTS CAN AFFORD TO PAY THAT MUCH FOR A SMALL TOY. I KNOW OF ONLY 2 RETAILERS THAT SELL ALL BEANIES FOR $5.99, REGARDLESS OF HOW POPULAR IT IS.I LIKE THE IDEA OF TY NOT SELLING THESE THROUGH LARGE CHAINS, BECAUSE IT DOES GIVE THE SMALL BUSSIENESS PEOPLE A CHANCE TO BRING MORE PEOPLE INTO THE STORE.I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE BEARS! THERE ARE A LOT OF US BEAR COLLECTORS OUT THERE!
- i love beanie babies, but I think there needs to be one price for current beanies, i also think there should be a buffalo.
- I hope they make affordable Teddies(brown,Jade)
- I dislike how hard it is too get BB
- I think limited access to Beanies is a good idea (as in only letting small gift shops and odd places sell them as opposed to letting chain stores like Wal-Mart get them) because nearly half the fun in collecting Beanies is in the search to find them.
- I LIKE THIS PAGE ALOT
- I love Beanie Babies although I only have 16!!!!
- I don't like of how only the expensive "shoppes" sell them. I think they should be sold in department stores too!
- I really feel that the dealers that are selling retireds for over retail price are wrong. Why? well, I came across a Snowball about an month ago, and they were selling him for $25!!!! I was fuming! Some child was going to go try to find a beanie that they don't have and will be unsucessful, because they can't afford it! I believe Ty Warner should get rid of those merchants right away. Not because they are a small business, but for real reasons like dishonesty and those who rack up the price so they can
have some more doe. Also, I think a good beanie baby would be a tie-died starfish. I really like them. I just hope they don't name it starry. that name is soooo unoriginal. Maybe star, but not starry. that really bothers me:) lastly, I think ty should sponsor beanie shows. the actual company. This would make sure that they are sprinkled evenly around the country, istead of just in one spot. Thats all, and I feel that Ty should unretire all of the teddies, and all of the dinos!!! Later all!
- I think it is great fun collecting them!
- I feel there is to much control on certain beanies and are unable to get. There should be enough to go around for everyone, such as Princess Di Bear. I know this is a selling strategy. Also would like to see Beanies available not only during day time hours, but for the average working person to be able to shop at night for them.

- I wish TY would retire more at a time.
- I get so upset when I want a certain beanie and cannot get it . Now I only need the princess and Erin and I can't get them anywhere times like this I want to forget the whole thing . I feel princess should be available everywhere
- for # 18. I would select BRITTIANIAnot being fairly distributed to dealers
- Ty Warner is the greedy one. He is the one who created the secondary market, & it wouldn't surprise me if he starts to make it harder for everyone to them now. I'll bet you he has people selling his private collections on the internet. Thanks for listening.
- I hate Ty I think they are gready
- Get a grip! to the pushing and shoving bb shoppers
- Retailers are keeping their erin and Princess so that its hard for us to get them at regular prices < than $10.
- I dislike that secondary market prices have gone up so far that we can't afford to get the retired ones we want at all. My kids are really into beanies, they study the books and want to collect them all but prices have gone so high (over $200 for Chops, over $350 for Libearty, etc.). It's also frustrating because I've never seen Princess or Erin in a store (at any price), yet secondary dealers have them by the dozen at $175-$350. I thought these were supposed to be $5-$6 toys. How is my 11-year-old dau
hter ever supposed to get a Princess or Erin? Why can't TY produce enough to supply their honest retailers so this doesn't happen? In my dreams, I would like to see TY reintroduce some of its retired styles on a mail-order basis, limit one per customer, so that my kids could finally get a Flutter, Peking, Kiwi, etc. Of course I don't have any delusions that this will actually happen, but it is just about our only chance to get any of those older beanies that the kids want so much. Thanks for listening.
- I hate adults that push in front of kids in lines to buy them to sell for a profit. I also hate stores that sell them for more than $6.00.
- Bongo, Pinchers, Blackie, Chocolate will be retired in April.
- I think Ty should make a Jellfish named Squirmy!
- Would like to see Ty afford the consumer an opportunity to report gouging retailers on the net. There is one nearby who routinely charges $8 or more for old currents and asks up to $30 for new currents. I won't even mention what they want for Erin or Princess!
- "Jay" The Bluebird
- I work, and by the time I get off, if a store has received a shipment of new beanies, I don't stand a chance of getting one. I have yet to find a Princess or Erin in a TY retailer store.
- I have met a vendor that sells currents for $15 but only offered me $10 for my perfect condition Goldie. That is really stupid.
- I have 2 children, a girl age 9 & a boy age 7. They both collect & I can reasonably say beanies are the ONLY thing they can agree on & play with together without fighting. (Except Titanic - they both LOVED it). Anyway, thank you Ty Warner!
- I started purchasing Beanies for my six year old twin boys two and a half years ago. It is no longer fun. The adults have stepped in and killed all the fun for children. In my opinion this is a child's territory for $5.00 until the adults came into the picture. I have stopped buying them and my children have lost interest. Too much room for disappointment. I refuse to buy them anymore.
- I wish that it would not have been overtaken by the secondary market. I thought this would have been a good toy that my 2 year old's brother and sister could have purchased for her. Now we cannot even find a new one for her birthday. I am selling some of them, 3 for $1,000 if this keeps up. I will then put the $ away for her education. I hate to do this because they are so adorable but the fun is going out and getting a new one for her is taken away when I see someone have 30 BB's of the one we
need at a ridiculous price. I really do not want to fall into this mentality but if she can get something out of them now I will proceed. Her future is my concern now. Adults making a profit off of childrens wants is not a hobby I would like to see my daughter involved in. Thank goodness she is too young to see what is going on.
- I hate the fact that retailers don
- All of the new ones should be retired
- I love beanie babies - I just wished that new releases were more readily available to complete collections.
- Dislike-$Prices$
- If a retailer sells the beanies they got from Ty at $2.50/apiece for $8.00-$200 they lose all my business for not only beanies but for anything else. I make it a point never to shop there again. As a Ty rep said to a retailer, "you can sell them for any price you want, but your reputation is on the line." Also, PEACE is the greatest stuffed animal or teddy bear EVER EVER EVER!!! Peace is SOOO cute, and every one you get is like having a completely different Ty bear...
- When new ones come out the market should be flooded to stop prices from zooming up.
- We are a retail store still selling Beanies at $4.95
- Beanies are for kids, i can see collecting retired beanies , there are two catagories CURRENTS and RETIRED but the retailers and secondary market has opened up other catagories which make it very difficult to get your child a beanie that they really want, these additional catagories are HARD TO FIND they make them hard to find, ABOUT TO RETIIRE only Ty knows for sure, come on, NEW RELEASED, these are current beanies new or not. By having these extra catagories it makes it very difficult for a child to c
llect these beanies. thanks,
- Ty does not know their lizard species very well, iggy is an iguana which is suppose to have dark blue fabric and a razor back, Rainbow is a chameleon which is suppose to have tye dye fabric and his tag confirms this, and a chameleon has a crest on the head. The tags are on the right lizards according to the species , the fabric is on the wrong lizards, it should be switched to opposite lizards, not the tags.
- they need a fish called sushie
- i love beanies
- I love the beanie pheomenon!!!! It's no.1!!!!!!!!
- I am very disappointed in the way the seconday market has taken over and made it very hard for children and people like me who are buying beanies for their children to have to pay a HUGE price for a toy. My daughter recently saved her money and worked making extra money to purchase Garcia from a secondary marketer, and when she saved the complete amount, she was told that the price had increased by over $100.00. This broke her heart. How do you explain the greed of adults to children?
- I think the "secondary market" stinks and should be all but done away with. They are greedy and making it hard for those of us that want Beanies for our children to get them. GREED IS BAD!!! STOP THE MADDNESS!!!
- I won't participate in any more "retailer games" $10 tops to purchase. Will not purchase $30 or more of other store merchandise to qualify for a beanie purchase. I buy these for my son, who is the collector. He does not have the big bucks. We only patroni
- I just started collecting last year and I wish that certain BB's were more affordible $6000 for a Beanie? I can't afford $20!!!!!!!
- I think all unretired beanies should sell for the same price-via 5.00
- Beanies such as maple and britannia made available in US at normal cost price
- I think these cute little creatures are priced way too high. People think that kids shouldn't have them because we might PLAY with them or LOVE them instead of storing them in glass cases. I really wanted Seamore, but a man wouldn't sell her to me because I'm under age 18 and I might get her dirty! (He really said that too!) I don't think it's fair that a toy intended for kids should be hogged from them just because they are the latest craze! Ty intended to make a toy, not an expensive collectable! (Ty
priced them so kids could buy them too!)
- the high prices on some current beanies
- Beanies such as maple and britania made available in US at normal cost price
- what are they?
- i want erin and the princess bear
- bones, spike, gracie, crunch, blackie, chocolate, daisy, and happy will retire next
- should make a cow/angel name it holycow
- I don't like the ty retailers selling Princess and Erin for more than $10. Unless it is for charity, and then I want to know the charity and see their certificate from the charity. Other than that, they are pocketing and making huge profits!
- I think it is almost criminal that it is so hard to get the beanies like Peace, Princess and Erin. It appears that the primary dealers are selling them to the secondary market and it makes it impossible for an ordinary person to get them and pay the high prices. It seems to be a marketing tactic..lower supply and increase demand..and I hate to be manipulated. I have several friends who have said and I hear others in the stores complain that if they cannot get a Peace, Princess or Erin at the regul
r retail price, they will quit collecting beanies.
- It is a shame that those of us collecting for our children are sometimes at a loss due to the greed of secondary retailers. If a person is buying for an investment, fine...but should parents be fleeced in the process??
- Stop making so many of each kind.
- dislike that new bears are limited in shipping making them for more costly then they should be at initial introdustion
- I KNOW EVERYONE IS WELL AWARE OF THE MIS-TAGGED IGGY'S AND RAINBOWS, BUT DO YOU THINK TY IS AWARE THAT THEY DID NOT DESIGN THEM CORRECT EITHER. AN IGUANA HAS SPIKES DOWN THE BACK AND THE CHAMELEON SHOULD HAVE THE HOOD BEHIND THE NECK!! JUST WONDERING IF THEY NEW THAT?
- I'm saddened and discouraged that the main purpose in beanie babies from the beginning was that of an affordable toys for CHILDREN. My 4 1/2 yr. old son collects them and has been reduced to tears frequently by some retailers regarding beanie babies. We always are polite and friendly to people when inquiring about beanie babies and understand the retailer's frustration too, and have also sent letters to TY, Inc. voicing our concern. Some secondary market dealers out there are down right cut throat i
their tactics and would sooner run over a child to get to a beanie baby than lose their chance to make some money off of them -- I feel they're driving the prices up (which may be good for those collectors out there who are in it just for the money), but for the kids, it just plain stinks! I have yet to find a retailer who will cater to children regarding beanie babies. I find that really sad. I wish TY would just flood the market with the toys -- the collectors will still have their retireds to hang o
to for value anyway. Thank you for letting me vent!
- I am tired of secondary market prices. I remember when I began collecting, I found beanies everywhere and then, boom, it hit and prices skyrocketed
- ICAN'T AFFORED MOST OF THEM
- all of secondary markets are going to be stuck with alot of beanie baby b-day presants if the market crashes and the desire to colloct dies out!
- My kids play with the beanies. i wish there were easier and less expensive ways to keep their collection current. They throw parties, bake treatsetc. and really enjoy them They are sad when they can not get a new release or i tell them it costs too much. I am sure there are other parents telling them the same thing. Ideas on products: a good storage system for a large collection!
- I dislike the fact that I cannot afford to buy many of the new beanies for my children to play with due to price gouging by people on the secondary market. My children play with them and I cannot afford to spend the outrageous amounts of money people ask after they buy up the supply!
- would like to see a poodle
- I think it's outrageous what some retailers are selling the beanie babies for when they only cost them around $3.00, even ones such as Peace, Erin and Princess.
- retired prices are too low
- I don't think it is right for an authorized Ty dealer to not sell "highly sought after" currents in their store, but instead to sell to the highest bidder.
- I love lizzy and chocolate
- I can't believe some people are selling new releases for twice their value!! Talk about greedy!
- Ty is doing a disservice to children by limiting the number of particular Beanies issued, therefore jacking up the price so that adults might act like complete idiots causing a pricing frenzy which drives up the price for children. Greed is ugly!
- BB's are awesome!! Very fun to collect, I just love small soft stuffed animals!! I like bears, dinos, and reptiles best!!
- Ty is doing a disservice to children by limiting the number of particular Beanies issued, therefore jacking up the price so that adults might act like complete idiots causing a pricing frenzy which drives up the price for children. Greed is ugly!
- I am just getting into the investment aspect of Beanies. It pisses me off that the suppliers never stock half of the ones they get onto their shelves.
- It really bothers me that people are selling these cute little things for so much money and that other people are ACTUALLY BUYING THEM. Though I collect them, I believe that the beanie craze is just a fad and their value will not last. It undermines the childlike spirit of beanie babies to ask such outrageous prices.
- erin and princess should be more reasonably priced
- Searching is half the fun. I just wish people who want Beanies for their personal collections wouldn't have to pay so darn much $$$ for new releases like Erin. And Brittania? guess I'll never have her. Oh, well!
- should retire princess, erin, and peace
- I don't think stores that sell BB should be allowed to keep BB for themselves (sale personnel) they should have the same slim chance as we do when trying to obtain a BB. They call their friends to let them know a shipment has arrived and what time the doors will open. I have seriously considered stopping THE HUNT.
- thie cute, at least some of them
- I like that TY retires beanies. I dislike when retailers give or sell to employees & there families instead of to customers. Alot of people say the botttom will fall out, but as long as TY keeps making them We are going to keep buying as long at the stores don't increase prices
- My children have their own small collection in addition to my business inventory.
- I think that (obviously) the beanies that are new will not retire soon or get rare(like Princess)unless some greedy person hordes it.The toy might get retired quickly if only scarce quantities of it are produced.
- I would just like to say the Ty knows exactly what they are doing. The problem I have and others have, is when you work, you have a hard time getting to the stores to get the little darlings before they are gone. It upset me that the people who are selling second market, snatch them up before thiose of us who only want 1 of each for our collection can get them. Also dealers who sell them for more than the retail price , I feel, is not ethical. But then again...supply and demand! And my search to c
mplete my set and continue collecting goes on!
- New releases should be more abundant. Not just in lots of twelve.
- Keep the issue price low, retire to increase value.
- I think all of the origanal 9 should retire.
- please! please! please! lower the prices of bb i am only a kid !!
- I think they shiuld sell Beanies at like K-mart and Target, and other normal stores for like 4 dollars
- i wish retailers had a cap on how much they could sell a beanie baby for when they purchase it from ty (ie. erin, princess) for $2.25 and then sell it to the public for $100-$250 because they know the secondary market can get that price
- I want people to buy mine for lots of money and I want all of them.
- I hate the fact that there are adults out there are making this "beanie situation" out of control. Just today a Hallmark in our local mall had to call the sheriffs dept. because of an unruly mob of people were fighting over places in line to buy Erin. There is just too much greed.
- Retailers should sell for their FAIR markup. Ty has suggested this. Retailers often try to take advantage of the secondary market value. Example: Peace for $45-$50. Erin for $225. Princess for $150 - $175. This greed will cause the decline of
- I think that Erin shouldn't be so hard to get. I like all of them but the older retired's I need are tons and tons of $$$.
- I've only been involved a short time, but there are lots of people out there who have gone over the edge. I'd like some more retireds, but they're so blasted expensive!
- retailers are getting greedy asking $20. for a new release is rediculous!
- Personally I don't do it myself, but I dislike the retailers that make you stand out in line for hours, by saying that the beanies will go on sale at a certain time. I get all my beanies from a woman who owns a small market. Each weekend I go there and buy everything that she has that I don't have. I hope that no one finds out who she is!
- NO
- Hope they lower prices, other than that I just love 'em
- I have a question about the tags, not the swing tags but the tush I think they are called, some of my beanies have red stars on the left next to the ty heart and some don't is there some sort of meaning for the star? Please respond like putting it on your home web page THANKS
- The hunt is half the fun. I think it is a great idea to have beanie babies representing different countries or specific holidays. However, I think those and all beanies should be available world-wide. Otherwise the secondary marketers get involved and the price gets inflated unrealistically. Think about it Ty, beanie babies were invented for children. Well, what American child can afford to pay $200 for MAPLE or $500+ for BRITTIANA.
- every month new collectors, like to guess next retires
- beanie babies rule!!!!!
- Dealers who hoard or sell their beanies at inflated prices creating a "fantasy" market of inflated secondary prices.
- I just hope that the Beanie Babie craz doesnt stop.
- I just really enjoy the whole thing, plus all the nice people we have met, doing this. I'd do it all over agian
- I have a question about the tags, not the swing tags but the tush I think they are called, some of my beanies have red stars on the left next to the ty heart and some don't is there some sort of meaning for the star? Please respond like putting it on your home web page THANKS
- fairness for those who work 7-5 have no chance when shipments come in and ups delivers only monday-friday. we need consideration.
- I am diapointed with TY putting out only 12 Erin to start. That's what drove the price so high, just like Princess. He should not release any beanies till he can release 36 to each store each month. That would keep the price of the new ones a lot lower. PS ( I LOVE BEANIES ) --()¿()--
- Hope the greedy secondary market does not ruin the beanie phenomenon..especially for the kids!!
- boo: retailers limiting purchases to one item
- I think they should make Lots more bears!!
- I DON'T MIND THE SECONDARY MARKET. IT IS A GOOD WAY TO GET BEANIES. BUT I AM ONLY 13 AND I CAN'T ALWAYS AFFORD THEM. ONE LADY WAS SELLING HISSY FOR $50. THAT IS NOT TO MUCH FOR A RETIRED BEANIE, BUT HISSY IS NOT RETIRED.
- Ithink TY should make a limit on how high the prices are sold at on BB's
- I don't like that it is soooooo hard to find a list of value on the beanie babies.
- i love beanies and enjoy the "hunt" but what i dislike the most is some retail stores are selling selected ones for ungodly amounts of money! i saw several places selling Princesss for 150.00
- I think no matter what retired and current beanies should be at the most $20 because some retailers are selling beanies for over $5,000 and they are greedy! They are self-fish and selling beanies just for money!Since the prices are so high children can not collect them sometimes.
- as a retailer, i would really like to see the other retailers who are selling their entire shipments to stores who are not ty dealers stopped. a store opened in the mall i work in that has tons of beanies and is not an authorized dealer. i would love to see him stopped!!!!!!!
- Collecting beanies is so much fun - the hunt is almost a much fun as the catch. All of the collectors I have met or delt with have been wonderful people.
- I think there should be 1 price for all current beanie babies. Also there should be a snail.
- I wish the retailers would consider the people who work and not put everything out in the morning when it comes. they should put some out in evenings or Saturdays and they should let customers who come in know this, not publish it in window for all to see.
- I don't like the fact that that new beanies cost so much to buy before they actually become available in the retail stores. It isn't fair to the general public to have to pay secondary market prices. How do these people get their beanies before the stores do unless it is actually retailers that are selling on the secondary market and holding back from their regular customers. Ty should set some stricter rules. Put a cap on what retailers can sell them for. Some stores pretend to have beanie consi
nment areas so they can sell retired and new beanies at inflated prices.
- I have heard retailrs say that if they get an Erin or Princess in they will keep it to e
- Beanie Babies are hard to find
- you should make a longhorn and a collie dog for the colleges.
- I really believe the market should be flooded with the Princess Bear, considering it is for charity and it is impossible to get a hold of. the only way to own one is by buying it secondary market and paying $200, now who's charity is it for??? I work at a place who is recieving them and selling them for $200 also, that is crazy, Ty should have a set price for these retailers to sell them!! Thank YOu
- I like how cute they are and how many different animals ty can think of to become a beanie babie
- I am tired of retailers that have TY contracts gouging prices and selling a dozen of one beanie to one person, but not to another!!
- I love Beanie Babies and I am trying to add Peace the Bear to my list next.
- Why don't they make hamsters, girbels, or guinea pigs?
- I would just like the stores to sell them for the orginal prices. And remember they suppose to be for kids and affortable for them.
- Why don't they make a hamster, girbel, guinea pig or such?
- As my statements in the survey have indicated, I am disgusted by the secondary market and those who are trying to make money off people. Though it is natural to want to make a profit, and though I am a 23 year old collector, Beanies are toys. They were meant for children and I find it sad that some "enterprising" adults are making it hard for children to enjoy these toys.
- People shouldn't be overly greedy. I have a friend who will buy up all of the valuable beanies without giving anyone else a chance at even one. She does this to the point of being dishonest and totally unfair.

- I dis-like all people charging way to much for beanies thatshould only cost five dollars
- no comment as of now.
- It will all end & beanies will be worthless
- None of the beanies used for baseball promotions will be retired this Spring. These beanies will become hard to find just like Cubbie did during the Cubs promotion.
- I think that Peace, Erin, and Princess are going to retire next, because everyone wants them. I really like the Princess with no rose (Don't ask me why!)
- I hope I find Erin
- I think the animals are starting to look more realistic, with more details.
- Beanie Babies have given my 9-year-old son and me (his 37-year-old mom) something we both enjoy. I won't pay over $7-$8 for a current Beanie, even the new releases. I've only purchased one retired beanie. That was to replace one that was damaged by my brother's dog. I don't feel I'd spend the money to purchase retired beanies unless they had a special significance to me.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!
- I hate beanie babies!!!!!!!!
- I wish they were easier to find, my kids love them and are rarely able to find them anymore.

- I enjoy collecting very much. It is just a disappointmen to me and my son (9yrs., avid collector) that the availbility of beanies is hard to come by. We started late in the Beanie craze 2/98 and adding retireds to our personal collection is way above our means.
- I have 126 Beanie Babies!
- it makes me very upset to see how much people are selling princess for. it wasn't intended to make a great profit. it was made in honor of princess diana.
- i love collecting beanies i just started on valintinesday and already have 30
- i love collecting beanies i just started on valintinesday and already have 30
- I think Ty should better monitor some retailers, some are making you purchase other items in the store in order to purchase Beanies, I think this is unfair. Iam only interested in Ty Beanies not their store products. I think Ty should put a stop to this.
- Sad comentary for auth. dealers selling beanies out there back door
- I think stores should have to restrict number purchased two to each customer. Not let secondary sellers by all they have just to jack up the price and resell. I am very unyhappy with the Elephant Trunk in Eugene, OR any Beanie that is hard to find not even retired the price is incredible they are selling Princess for $200. I have stopped shopping with them. I wish more of Princess and Erin would be available the only way people that want one will get one is if they are lucky enough to win in raffle
or by paying 150. or more. I hate secondary sellers who by all they can find and then resell for rediculous prices.
- It's a shame that the secondary market has ruined collecting beanies for children. After all, they are toys meant to be played with not set on shelves merely to be looked at and admired.
- MY MOM GETS THEM FOR ME WHEN I HAVE DONE GOOD IN SCHOOL
- Bitey the Possom
- This is a fun and frustrating endeavor!
- I feel that when Ty puts out a new beanie(s) they should plan to ship more to there stores so that every child would have the opportunity to purchase one, not set it at 12 or 36 per store, they should send bigger quantities. Also the secondary market values on some of the retireds and even non retireds is ridiculous. Ty should set a price on this. Secondary markets need to be banned.
- It's a lot of fun. I share it with my daughters. The older one (14) really studies s etc. on values and has learned a lot about trading, etc. We have fun together and it's such a healthy hobby. She really puts time into it.
- I believe that beanie baby manufacterers should stick to making ANIMAL beanie babies. I personally find snowman beanies, ghost beanies etc. very annoying and a waste of time. They are also made sloppily. Stick to cute ccreatures. Cute is the only reason why most of the masses buy them, take my advice.
- I am bothered that people on the secondary market are able to buy unlimited quantities of beanies at retail prices and sell them at such outrageous prices. There are people out there who collect for their kids, who love them for what they are and not for what they might be worth someday.
- Why do they have to sell for tons of $$? That's my question. People will go out and buy a cute little teddy bear off the beanie collection for tons of money! They are cute, but I'de rather spend all that money on alot of beanies, not just one.
- I wish TY would stop playing the distribution/demand with customers. It is the reason the secondary market is greedy
- I think the craze is too out of hand. Stuffed animals for over $300! They need to make some weirder animals, like an emu or vulture....
- I dislike Princess and Erin being so limited in quanity and in turn high in price. It takes away the fun for someone just collecting for her children.
- I am throughly disqusted with Ty for not making the Princess Bear more obtainable for all of us...it should of been marketed with the same amount being made as say Hissy the snake for instance...they only made a few and the retailers sold them for a fortune or raffled only one or two off....kept the rest for themselves...really poorly done and I figure they are going to do the same with Erin and I think it is wrong wrong wrong. Make the same amount of these bears as the did Cubby the bear. Its just t
rrible when a child asks for Princess for Christmas from Santa and you don't even have a chance to purchase one or they are too expensive to purchase. It's really not right and I am sure Diana would of been disqusted with it also.
- I think that Seaweed , Doby and Hoppity will be in the next retirment
- They should not give a Beanie a human name (such as Erin) unless they have enough available for people who have that name!
- I love beanie babies but some of the prices are outragiuos especially when you just started to collect and want the older one too!
- started buying for my grandkids.got hooked, i love them..also looking at them as a future investment as values escalates...buying cyrk stock as well...they are precious
- I love beanies, i just wish they were cheaper in the stores and worth more on the internet. :)
- Shopping network that really jack up the prices
- I have two comments ... First of all, ...What is this business of US Customs confiscating Beanies?!? What next? They have become a controlled substance like alcohol and tobacco. When you cross the border you are allowed one Beanie per person entering the USA. Are they going to ask "do you have any alcohol, tobacco and or beanie babies with you?" . PLEASE I think this has gone just a bit too far. Second point...the secondary selling of Princess for outrageous prices is WRONG! The profits are supp
sed to go to Diana's Memorial Fund, not some greedy dealer! Would Diana like her name to be associated with this?
- I hate Ty Warner for making it difficult for a kid like me to get a Princess or Erin for REGULAR ($5-6 dollars) price!!!!!!
- Wish that they would put out more of the Princess and Erin bears so we could have a chance to get one. Would like to see a chipmuck named Chippy
- I dislike a new Beanie like Erin coming out and costing so much before it even gets to the retailer. I just want to collect the Beanies because I like them. It doesn't matter to me what price they get up to because I don't want them for resale. I think supply is catching up with demand somewhat. I was at a show recently, and alot of Beanies selling for 5.95 (not the newest 10) were just sitting there at the end of the show. Alot were sold, but imagine, there were Beanies left. I figure TY will ge
production up eventually and then were will all the speculators be? Thanks for the survey.
- Wish that they would put out more of the Princess and Erin bears so we could have a chance to get one. Would like to see a chipmuck named Chippy
- I wished that the average person could obtain Peace, Princess & Erin, and not have to be disappointed. I am still hopeful of getting them but not real sure if I will. I feel they should keep a steady stream of them in the stores and not send zillions of old ones that are sitting and retailers getting frustrated so when a new one arrives they give or call a select few. I love the beanies , they are adorable. Still hoping for a Princess for my own since I'm half English.
- I think "TY' should make more Princess Bears, that way everyone can have one. The money raised is going to a good cause, and more money can be raised. Diane would want to put a smile on every childs face, and it would be so simple to do that.It is a disgrace to see her name used for nothing but pure greed!!!The secondary market can make there money on something else!!! {NOT ON PRINCESS DIANE}
- This great toy/investment/treasure hunt/collectible can live forever if the greedy retaiers don't kill it.people are sick of seeing store owners raise prices to flea market levels. There is hardly the thing called the $5.00 beanie anymore and that is part of the fun of it is hitting those great beanies for cheap prices. If every beanie costs $20.00 or more people will stop collecting.Leave the secondary market where it belongs, out in the street and papers. And the NET
- I don't have a problem with the 2ndary market. My career is quite intense and sometimes I just don't have the chance to find a Beanie I need. When that happens, I have no problem trading or paying a bit more to someone who took the time to hunt them down. I have met great people all over the US who have sold, bought or traded current or recently retireds with me. I do have a problem with retailers who pay $2.50 for a Beanie & then charge $40, $100 or even $200 for it only days after they have rece
ved it. One store in our area was bought out by a couple from IL and he instucts the staff to pull out the hard to finds and retireds they receive in their shipments and then he takes them home on his next trip up here and sells them for outrages amounts on the internet. I no longer buy ANYTHING from his store anymore. I used to be a regular customer who bought many things from them. A florest in our area used to have my personal and business accounts, since they have decided to charge $8.00 for curren
s, $15.00 for new release and $50 for Peace, I have chosen to do business with another florist. I used to own a very sucessfull retail store before changing careers and I built my business by being honest and fair to my customer. Any business who has to rip off their customers on one thing does not deserve my business in other areas!
- My favorite part is all the people I've met and made friends with
- I think they should make more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I feel that Ty should require their authorized dealers to sell their product at reqular markup and not allow them to sell at secondary market prices.
- I don't like the fact that may retailers hold back the hard to finds and then sell them to secondary suppliers who put the price up so high you can't afford to buy them. I also don't like retailers that hold back or call people to let them know they are in. If you don't know the right people or have a connection, it's virtually impossible to get several beanies.
- I wish Ty would make and send out more of them so they would not be so hard to get . and for the stores to keep the prices down so the kids can buy them...
- Magic is my favorite beanie and I don't have her. I would like to find her somehow. Oh and one more thing................I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- People should remember that Beanie Babies are for children and not just for the greedy secondary market sellers.
- Prices from distibutors in mall locations and other local distributors is getting way out of hand. These wonderful beanies are for children of all ages and from various economic backgrounds. In order to have a good collection, and at affordable prices, shopping around by phone and any other way you can to locate what you want is a top priority. It seems that those who have enough time and money purchase all the beanies they can to later resell them for almost twice the amount to unsuspecting purcha
ers.
- what is with the import export thing
- I think people who are collecting them for "investments" are going to be disappointed. Other than the very first batch, there are simply too many BBs for the values to hold up.
- I'm kind of disappointed that its very hard to get the new beanie babies.
- i hate the control the secondary market has and i really hater that some stores require you buy 5 BB on one shelf jsut to get one other that is either new or simply popular. oh yeah, i hate when people buy up a million of one kind and don't leave any ofrhte rest of us, casual collectors.
- find it terrible for people to complain about the time it takes to find beanie babies. i have been able to get almost all issues since late 1997 and i work a full time job also. i also kind of resent those people who do not work and who can go out all the time looking for beanies
- I'm going to start selling mine. I've got too much invested in these little stuffed animals. I'm afraid this is starting to fizzle out.
- I think there should be limits on how many beanies can be sold to an individual. When Disney carried them, we allowed only two of each kind per transanction. We did not have but one problem and that lady was finally gotten by security for fraud. She was paying people to stand in line for her, she was really obnoxious. Beanies should be kept behind the counter so everyone has a chance to get them, instead of one person coming in and buying all at one time.
- I think Princess will retire because of the licensing problems with the Spencer family name that is now required.
- I hate that secondary dealers buy them all up before regular people even get a chance!!!!
- I wonder how long Ty will continue to make more Beanie Babies!
- I think is is very sad the price that is being put on the princess bear. Princess Diana didn't stand for grrediness. I really feel she would be disappointed seeing the outragious prices on the bear that was designed in her memory. I think Ty should do something to control the outrageous hike in prices being asked. Those of us who are collecting for the children will never be able to attain this precious bear. Would this have been something Diane would've appoved off?
- I think the secondary market prices are so far out there for a $5.00 toy it's insane. One day it will come crashing in like the stock market in 1929 and all those wasted thousands could be used to help people in need for food or clothing.
- I think that the beanie craze in price terms has gone way to far!
- If the prices keep going up, my childred and I will be unable to keep collecting.
- The adult 'phase' has made it difficult for children to collect for themselves. My granddaughter first started me on this and now she can not even get one on her own. She is very disappointed.
- I feel like too many dealers are getting too greedy,
- I like it when I can purchase the new beanies and current beanies for the normal price of 6-7 dollars.
- New currents should be more readily available.
- I dislike retailers either putting stipulations on the sale of current beanies, regardless of how rare, special, new, etc. I also have a problem with the retailers snatching these same beanies before they even go out on the floor for the loyal customers to purchase and they (the retailers), in turn, sell them on the secondary market. No wonder we can't find these special current beanies in the stores. We shouldn't have to pay outrageous prices for the current beanies, especially when the retailer pa
s the same price for each of the beanies. It is also appalling that anyone would sell a Princess Bear for any more than it's regular Ty price. Afterall, wasn't the sale of this beanie to provide donations of the profits to the Princess's charity fund? Instead, price gougers are cashing in with no intentions of donating their profits to the Princess's charities. Shame on these people!
- I do not like that store oweners can keep any or all the beanies that they want. They sell them out of the back door and the buying people do not get a chance
- I wish Ty didn't limit the amount of beanies the retail stores receive. I also wish more stores would put limits on the amount of beanies a person can purchase, making beanies more available to more people. I really dislike the "greedies". They take the fun out of collecting beanie babies.
- I had heard that there are going to be 20 retirements on april 1 from the t.v. network of shop at home.
- i really wish Ty would make more statements regarding authorized dealers dealing out the back door or on the internet to make more money. I hope they have a better handle on the teenies this year or I just may not get them at all and will get them through the secondary market instead.
- I think that Chocolate, Squealer, and Stinky will be retired by the end of the year.
- This "phenomenon" is so awesome!! It alows almost everybody be able to have at least one beaause of their price. They can be hard to find, but I've managed to, in less than 6 months, to get all but 3 beanies. Now I just need Princess, Maple, and Britania!!! Also, I think that just FINDING the beanies - which is the real challenge - makes the collecting more fun! That's part of what kept me going, that and they're just so darn cute!
- I think Princess and Erin should not be allowed to be sold for more than the normal price of a beanie.
- I wish it was easier to find Princess and Erin at reasonable prices.
- dislike difficulty in finding stores with stock
- no comments, thanx for asking.
- Prices on the secondary market have gotten out of hand. Go to a Flea mkt, the prices are ridiculous.
- Retire 20 bb's in the next month. Great stimulus.
- The secondary market is making it close to impossible to be able to afford some of the beanies ex: Erin, and some of the older beanies>
- I don't like the fact that secondary mark. exsit. This is causing the amt. of money for each to rise too high, this is for children and collectors..not for a money making thing. Greed seems too have gotten in the collecting. I just enjoy my beanies and enjoy watching my grandchildren have fun playing and collecting with me. Thank you.
- It's O.K.
- It's O.K.
- I buy them for my daughter to play with and resent the price gouging by retailers. I definitely think retailers who sell at outrageous prices or on secondary market should lose their contract with TY. I also think Ty has fed some of the price gouging by limiting beanie shipments. Has Ty lost sight of the beanie as an expensive toy for KIDS to buy?
- PRINCESS AND ERIN ARE TO MUCH MONEY, PEOPLE SHOULD STOP BEING GREEDY AND SELL THEM SO THAT KIDS CAN BUY THEM WITHOUT SPENDING THEIR LIFES SAVINGS
- Would like to have the chance to purchase Erin without spending a bloody fortune for it. These figures should be available for the children. They want to purchase Princess and Erin as well as the adults but can't swing the high prices.
- I think a jellyfish beanie would be real cute!
- Not real easy to get if you are at work all day!!!
- I love Beanie Babies
- My daughter (age 9) collects and she has learned some very adult lessons. She has learned about greed (secondary market people, regular Ty retailers wanting to make big bucks...eliminating kids from the hobby, consumers who buy up all they can so that the kids have no opportunity to purchase. She learned of poor manners as adult collectors have snatched things from her hand. I am sorry that she began her collection because this "kid" hobby subjected her to some real adult "misbehavior". We have use
this hobby though to teach about generosity ( if you have 2 of something you can give it away and make someone happy, and that the real value of her collection lies in her enjoyment...not in the monetary value. Anyway, a real opportunity for some life lessons.
- I am very diappointed in the prices on line - people have definitely made it a business and have taken the fun out of it. I really try to meet people who live in my area using the Ty site since you can post your city and state. i write to them tell them my basic area w/o sharing too much and ask them if the'd like to trade wish lists and store info. i've met some great people that way & made a few trades. I'm VERY uncomfortable about trading on line... too many horror stories posted. Thanks for ask
ng !!!!
- Authorized dealers SHOULD NOT be allowed to sell for more than the suggested price and should not be allowed to sell them as secondary or out the "backdoor". I don't feel that they were intended to be sold this way.

- I HOPE THEY LAST FORVER AND AREN'T JUST A FAD!!!
- *Nothing*
- I answered 'No Answer' because I only need Erin, Maple, and Brittanica and some of the old, old, old retirerds.
- i think that beanies should not be so exspenive so children and peole that don't have much money can purchase them and start a collection for themselves.
- stores who charge too much.......SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Merchants that jack the price up after they find out a beanie is in demand even though they openly admit they only paid the regular low merchant price of under $5.
- I would like to see retailers get in trouble for selling beanies at outrages prices, and giving to friends instead of putting on the shelves.
- Enjoy doing it with my 7-yr old daughter!
- Adults pushing each other in stores to get to the beanies makes me angry! They were created as a children's toy, not to be sold and resold and never played with by a kid!
- make more teddies of different styles, and many more of each so they aren't so expensive
- I don't like stores who have a calling list that they call and save beanies for there friends on their list before they let the public have a chance to get the beanies!!!!!!
- The secondary market is good for the hobby and selling retireds but when currents become the prices of Erin, Princess and brittania and children will no longer be able to purchase them, thew hobby will die. If it wasn't for all of the people buying $5 beanies for their kids, there would be no secondary market.e
- Very frustrated about Princess & Erin prices
- Too many stores are raising their prices from $4.99 to whatever they like. The price should remain at $4.99 each so children can purchase these, too. Also, limit the number of each beanie to two (2) styles per person.
- i wish the factory would burn down and this craze would end!!
- NOY ENOUGH AVAILABLE
- i don't think that Ty retailers should sell banies that they get at the regular price for $100 and up. For example the Princes Bear and Erin. I can see the secondary market doing this because they are buying them for over $100 each and do need to make some profit. Without the secondary market alot of new collectors would never be able to collect ones that they missed.
- I am enjoying the beanie craze very much, a friend of mine and myself are putting on shows and selling beanies and we have met so many fun people. I don't enjoy the people who are only in it as a money maker, first you have to love the beanie and then try and prosper. I hope they retire some of the ones that have been around forever, also I think they put out too many new releases out at once and they need to retire one or two of them to keep the excitement in buying the new ones. Also the Mcdonald te
nie beanies will ne interesting to see. I hope I can get a set for my daughter who is eight.
- I wish there was a way to stop the hoarding of bb by the retailers. I have heard of so many stores that are not selling their princess or erin's. Then you see so many people on the internet who have dozens of one type of bb. Seems pretty suspicious to me! I just found a store that will only sell the special ones to children (thank goodness, I have three). We are going back in two weeks and hope to find an erin or princess.
- I think that retailers should not make such big mark-ups on the princess bear, so that children can not even buy them. I was in a store the other day and they had 6 of them and they were selling them each for $150.00. You can't tell me that they are going to give this all to charity. They are going to pocket it for the store. The princess bear should not be sold like that.
- It's unfortunate that collecting Beanie Babies has become almost impossible for the low and moderate income families. Erin can't be touched for less than $250.00 dollars, and I would have liked to purchased it for my daughter, Her middle name is Erin. I have been forced to trade or sell some of my retired beanies for the Princess Bear. I know that Hallmark stores buy all the Beanie Babies at the same price from Ty yet the mark-up is different for each one. I feel that the Ty company should drop ret
ilers that are taking advantage of this.
- I think the beanie market is headed for a fall.
- Prices too high for kids
- I like the fact that there are so many different ones. However, I dont like the fact that the new ones are so hard to find.
- I LIKE TYDIED BEARS AND BRIGHT COLORS
