- I keep hearing that this phenom is just a fad, but I don't know...
- Thank you for letting the world have a say - whether it makes a difference, or not - in how we feel about Beanies and the retailers.
- I dislike when Ty makes a Beanie only available in a certain country like Maple or Britannia. I would like to see more tye-dye and different colors, maybe new forms instead of remakes.
- I just started collecting BB a couple of months ago, and i hate that i can't purchase the bears like Princess and Erin for $6. The retailers don't even give us a chance to purchase them, because they either sell them out the back door or they raffle them off, which makes me mad. The should start making more of these bears so college students who are poor, can afford to be a collector. thanks
- I am upset by retailers, selling at secondary prices
- Thank you for letting the world have a say - whether it makes a difference, or not - in how we feel about Beanies and the retailers.
- I understand the secondary market, but I think it would be great if the beanies were easier for the children to buy how many children can pay 100.00 for a beanie.
- I don't like rude or greedy collectors!!!
- I don't think it is fair that Erin went so out of reach.
- I have been in stores where they have priced their beanies at different prices according to the marketability, availability, etc. on each different beanie. This is a turn off for parents who want to buy their child a certain beanie that the child likes. I am not opposed to the retailer setting their own price for the beanies as long as the price is the same for every beanie.
- My kids and I LOVE beanies and wish it was easier to get some of the special ones, like princess and Erin (seems to be almost impossible unless you pay a premium price).
- I do not like the way retailers handle the hard to get beanies. If they get some Princess or Erins in the ones who work there get them all and there are none left for the public. If you are not a buyer and own a shop you cannot get the hard to find ones. I have talked to people about this and some have friends that have sold these to them for 5 to 10 dollars.
- TY should never distribute to large, retail stores (like Wal-Mart,etc) because half the fun of collecting BBs is the search and getting to know the store owners.
- I think that Ty should prohibit the so called " Silent Auctions " of Beanie Babies in local stores. For example a store near me got in 12 ERIN Bears and they auctioned them of to the highest bidders . Personally I want the bear but I am not going to pay $200 for a current beanie especially at a retail store.
- Great!! So glad they now have info on the Plush.
- there are more beanies on secondary then with the dealers
- It is delightful dealing with people with this common interest. Beanie people are usually very friendly and happy people. I enjoy going to beanie shows because the atmosphere is always so friendly. I do dislike the few people who do have the greed attitude. There is always a beanie somewhere at the right price if you keep you eyes open. This is a fun time for all of us and it is best to keep this attitude or you might become the weary, bitter seeker and seller.
- I think Ty became to big to fast and I do believe this will die down. I also think that because they are now gearing up a new company it will ruine a good thing
- I hate it when autherized dealers sell for secondary prices.
- I would like to be able to purchase Britannia.
- need to produce more
- I LOVE BB's!!!!! I don't think its right for people to be so greedy..
- I am just amazed at the whole thing in general and at myself for getting hooked!
- keep up the honest dealing with bb get the counterfiters out of business keep bb collecting fun
- claude crab because tieddyed, alsp peace
- retailers who charge 20 times the suggested retail price are my biggest peeve
- I would like to see some of the old beanies remade.. im not really in it for money .. i just think they are so cute.. id love to have some of the old ones, just to have them
- Ty should make The New Beanies easier to find - I don't like that Princess is a ridiculous amount of money even if it is for charity - Where is Erin? Why can't we find these Beanies??? It is very frustrating!!!!
- retail stores selling beanies at secondary market prices!
- Retailers that charge double the price for current beanies should be reported to Ty and be reprimanded or dropped from Ty's shipping list.
- when are you going to announced the new retired beanies babies?
- Market will not last forever.
- It is a nice hobby that both children & parents can enjoy together!
- It is a nice hobby that both children & parents can enjoy together!
- I dislike how high prices are. It's nice to know that you paid money in the latest phenomenon, but over $20 for a beanbag(sort of) is WAY too much!
- there are all some so many people love them
- I never would have believed that I would be involved in collecting little bean bag things..but I love them! I got the bug! Also helping my 2 grandkids get a set beteween them. I dispise what TY did with Princess, when they said it was for charity, and they'd flood the market. Now it's too late, people have paid way too much. Half the fun, for me, is in the "hunt", to get them at retail prices ($6 tops). After all, they ARE kids toys, and they do enjoy them so. Thanks for the survey, Mary in Californi
- I think they are the best things ever only wish i would have started a long time ago to purchase them !!
- I can't stand to be lied to by retailers or to be charged outrageous prices by retailers with actual TY accounts.
- What I dislike the most is that all the new or hard to find Beanies seem to be in the hands of the secondary market. I would like to know how they and home shopping on TV seem to have all they can sell while the general public scurrys around trying to find them. I would like to see an inexpensive glass or plexiglass cabinet to show off my collection and keep them clean. My ideas on retirements are Patti , Bones, Chocolate, Daisy, Dotty, Ears, Fleece, 3 bunnies, Happy, Lucky, Mel, Mystic
Pinchers, Pinky, Pouch, Rover, Scottie, Squealer, Stripes, Twiggs, Valentino and Zip. Thats a lot but there are a lot of them out there and its time to stir things up. Ty Warren is a genius at marketing and a mass extinction is called for.
- I am fairly new to collecting Beanie Babies, and I often feel that those before me have spoiled what should be a good experience for all! I have run into some retailers that are downright rude, and allthough I understand their frustration at having been asked the same question numerous times I feel that the behavior is uncalled for. I have heard stories of people actually using profanity with independant dealers, because of not allowing lists and so forth. Allthough I usually just go about my merry
ay, collecting beanies, this is troublesome.

- I'm a mother of two who wish adults would leave the beanies to the kid's I would love to be a distributor of ty beanies to sell them to everyone for a fair price. But I don't know if Ty is taking any more distributors or how to go about it. I love the beanies but dislike the high prices. Kid's can't afford these prices. My son would love Kiwi and Seamore and the ones we've missed but can't afford the high prices. Takes all the fun out of it when a child can't buy Princess or Erin unless they rob a ba
k . very sad that the american public can be so greedy that even toys for tots is in on the high price of beanies. sad indeed.
- Rain forest animals would be interesting
- Some retailer are asking the same prices as the secondary market. seems alittle unfair to the beanie junkies.
- It should be a collection that kids can enjoy - getting to be too much money for kids
- I think TY is terrible for giving only 12 beanies to retailers who, as they did with Princess, LEAD THE PUBLIC TO BELIEVE all the proceeds went to Princess Diana's foundations when actually, they hoarded the bears and sold or auctioned them off and kept the proceeds for themselves or sold them on their website for $300 + . They will do the same thing with every new one coming out and all because TY is creating this monster mess. I am all for buying the counterfits. I have seven grandchildren who don
t know the difference and I could at least give them something thry will treasure, real or otherwise. Andi Decker Austin.TX
- Derby W/O forehead star, Bones and Valentino will definatly retire next.
- I like TBB and hope they continue this annual Event
- BE KIND TO CHILDREN, IT'S BECAUSE OF THEM WE ARE ABLE T HAVE BB'S. SOME PEOPLE PUSH THE CHILDREN TO GET THEIR BB, OH NO, NO.....
- I like TBB and hope they continue this annual Event
- Blizzard will probably retire soon because of copyright reasons between him and the Dairy Queen Blizzard.
- i just got started collecting, hope it doesn't fizzle out too soon
- I think stores need to just put the beanie's on the shelf and sell them. Put a limit on them, but sell them first come first serve.... Don't have all this standing in line for hours.. Put your name in to be draw for a chance to buy a new one...
- Stores should only sell Beanies for $5 - $6 and that's it. Not outrageous prices.
- If you take a look at the results of this survey, you will notice that most Beanie Babies collectors are the older people who are probably the people that resell them for higher prices. Come on, people! They weren't meant for greedy old people. Let the kids have some fun.
- Prices are getting out of line
- I think that Ty Warner is a brilliant man because he is making lot's of money and everyone enjoys buying Beanies to make money andbecause they are so adorably cute!
- I think that Patti is going to retire and some of the other pretty old beanies.
- come out with a new style of cats.
- My family enjoys them. We wish we could get at the hard to find ones easier and not spend so much money because it's a hard to find.
- I wish I could find them readily; when one works 9-10 hours daily and barely has time to shop on the weekends it really makes it difficult to collect. I refuse to pay the exorbitant prices that are present on the secondary market. I am not made of money. My little girl loves them and I hope to be able to continue the collection we started in 1994 but with the greed of the secondary market it is getting harder and harder. I can't believe how people get boxes and boxes of these beanie babies and I can
t even get the new ones. I really miss the good ol' days when this wasn't a phenomenon and you could walk up to a store and purchase any one you wanted without standing in line or even being attacked by a greedy customer who only plans on re-selling it for a major profit. Yuck!! All I really want is to be able to buy a Princess or Erin or Maple or Brittania at a price of $5.99 is that asking so much??
- I think that retailers should not retain the beanie babies like princess, peace, etc.. and sell them high just so they can put money in there own pocket. I think retailers + familly should not be allowed to purchase them
- My girls , ages 10 and 11 , really love their beanies, I think it is unfortunate that some people are using the beanies to make a fast dollar, and depleting the supply for kids like mine. We all know that in 5 years or less, these things will be worth only what it costs to make them. I also question how retailers can obtain highly desireable beanies to raffle off, EX. Princess, but they don't have them to sell to kids. I'm sure Princess Di would not approve of her name being linked to something like t
is.
- i think that retailers are way too greedy. my mother sells beanies at her store, and she has them for $4.99. they only cost $2.50 for the store to buy. I don't get why people buy them for over $100. Even the princess only costs $2.50 to purchase. of course to make a profit you usually sell it at double the price. I hate it when other stores say that they paid more for it, that is why it is costing the consumer over $100.
- I do not like retailers who lie to the public and tell customers that they have Beanie Baies in stock when they DO NOT. They just want to get you into their store in hopes that you will buy something else. I do not like retailers who save the harder to find Beanies , so that they can sell them at an absurd price. One retailer that I went to hid Beanie Babies in her store and had people line up out side her store while she hid them. The doors opened and people were literally pushing shoving and kno
king people over to get at the Beanies that they could find. I was disgusted and left without purchasing even one Beanie Ba˙

king people over to get at the Beanies that they could find. I was disgusted and left without purchasing even one Beanie Baby. I think that there should be a maximum price that a retailer approved by ty, Inc. should be able to charge for Beanie Babies. I have seen some of the regular non retired Beanie Babies for up to $95.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There will always be a secondary market and there is not much you can do about it other than boycott these people.
- just about anyone can collect its great
- Make larger quantities and monitor retailers on a regular basis-what do they have Reps for anyway????? Afterall, these were made for the KIDS as toys!!!!
- I think we need to remember the kids...when people start to get greedy , retailers should not sell out the back door as long as there is a kid standing there with hopes that someone will sell them a Princess or Erin!!!
- I think its cool.
- dislike mail fraud over the net
- I think Ty should make a major retirement and release at least fifty new beanies
- retail stores' should sell beanies for
- erin bear is going to become a regular beanie that is easy to get soon
- I enjoy the hunt, but hate to pay too high of a price
- I wish TY would over-saturate the market with Princess and Erin... that would stop a lot of the price gouging!
- I love Beanies and I think Patti is soon to retire since she was introduced in 1993.
- I really believe that if people would stop buying beanies at the outrageous prices that the retailers and secondary markets wouldn't sell like the Erin and Princess for such outrageous prices. Beanie baby hunting is fun as long as the people don't get too crazy. Those crazy collectors that cause scenes make it horrible for the rest of us
- I do not think thet Princess will retire soon because, Ty stated that they wanted "Every one to have one" ...... So it would defeat the whole purpose of retiring her soon if they want every one to have a Princess.
- I love beanies. I have been collecting them ever since they came out. I have almost all of them. I only am missing 7. Ihave a duplicate of 436 of them out of 500.Make more new ones!
- I want to thank everyone for all the GREAT information i have gotten and i have really learned alot form this site ! Keep up the good work! -Anisa (neecie5203@aol.com)
- I love beanie babies, butI wish the prices on them would not go up so fast. My mom is very dissopointed because she thout the price on Coral would drop but it went from $99.00 to $319.00 and now we don't have the money to buy it.It is very disappointing.
- I love it!! I am having a great time collecting them
- I love beanie babies, but I don't like when stores get 12 Princess' , and they sell them for $100 to $250. The money from the sale doesn't go to charity like it was intended to, and the stores make a huge profit. They should sell the rare ones, if they must sell them for a price other than $5.95, for no more than $20.
- Stores should sell every Beanie at the same price!
- I wish Ty would stop limiting supply so we could all get the cute beanies. IE Princess, Erin.
- I think more stores should carry beanie babies
- I THINK AN EXCLUSIVE BEAR FROM AUSTRALIA WOULD BE NICE. OR A SHIBA-INU BEANIE BABY AND CALL IT AKIRA
- I am upset at the exorbitant prices and the availability of many BB's. It is virtually impossible to find an Erin for less than $100. When Princess first came out, the stores SOLD OUT and actually sold them for $300. They sold them to secondary sources and made it almost impossible for the average person to acquire. I think that the pricing is unfair.
- i dont like having certain beanies available in only tha t country
- I love beanies but hate retailers that sell currents for more than 10 dollars.
- Beanies are kid toys. Why should adults collect them and make them expensive.
- I would like to see Ty make a Shih Tzu dog beanie baby!
- I don't like he ide that the ty retailers can sell their special releases to s2ndy market and not make available to the younger kids that save their $$ for something special. I would like to know why we in the USA don't have access to the special foreign
- Retailers should only sell for $5, unless it is like consignment. I love all Beanies!!!
- Retailers should be more controlled. We pay $5+. They pay $2.50. Then are able to put outrageous prices or sell out the back door without us even knowing they ever had them. This should not happen.
- I think it's wonderful that you can buy these darling little animals for $5-7 and get such a great return on your investment! I hope Ty continues to be a marketing genius.
- I hate it when authorized Ty retailers sell at secondary prices! I can't afford that to collect for 4 kids!!!
- Ty Warner started selling beanies for children and it should have remained an item for children. Adult collectors should never have gotten involved. The inordinately high prices and lack of supply causes a lot of disappointment amongst the children who were the original purchasers and still want to purchase them for themselves!
- I disliked the idea that I was unable to get Britannia Bear Last week in London a nd I shall not be ablle to return there for some time.
- I am very dissapointed in the retailers who charge more than the standard retail price or put a beanie in an enclosed basket and sell it for 5 times the actual price. I have also heard of retailers who sell (even before they receive a BB such as Erin) it as a hold for 200 and up to the buyer.
- I dislike stores no telling you that they have beanie babies and they tell their friends first and they can hold things and share with their family. I think ty should ma˙
- I'm tired of the retailers that sell the retired beanies for up to $100.00 and more than that for Princess and Erin when they paid under $3.00 each for them. They drive the price so high it's not fair to the children who collect or the mom's who help them collect. What % profit is beyond reasonable?
- I think that Ty needs to exert much tighter control on its dealers. Look at the price that a Ty distributor at Embassy Gifts is charging for new released beanies. If Ty's goal is to get beanies into the hands of as many kids as possible, when that dealer,
- Would like to see bears for all major countries - AVAILABLE - great education for kids in a fun way!
- I think its absolutely horrendous what most dealers are doing to drive the prices of beanies upward. They have succeeded in taking the hobby of collecting out of the hands of children and into the hands of money grubbing adults. Take Princess for exampl
- I think that Ty needs to exert much tighter control on its dealers. Look at the price that a Ty distributor at Embassy Gifts is charging for new released beanies. If Ty's goal is to get beanies into the hands of as many kids as possible, when that dealer,
- I am so addicted to beanies! I need a support group!
- I'm a collector who enjoys the company of the beanies I collect. I have no interest in selling or making money on my beanies, but I enjoy watching my investment grow. My only concern is for the people who intentionaly inflate the prices for their own greed making it hard to collect without going broke, almost taking the fun out of collecting.
- DEALERS SELLING TO SECONDARY STORES
- I'VE ALREADY SOLD A BB FOR $300 (THAT I BOUGHT FOR $5). I CANNOT BELIEVE WHAT PEOPLE WILL SPEND FOR A *TOY* ($1000? $3000?!!). I DO NOT FEEL GUILTY FOR MAKING A PROFIT - THE FREE MARKET IS AN EFFICIENT MARKET. IF YOU WANT TO PAY, THEN THAT IS YOUR DECISION HOWEVER FOOLISH IT MAY SEEM TO ME. THE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT RETIRED BEANIES FETCH DEMONSTRATES THE *IRRATIONALITY* OF THE BUYING PUBLIC. YES, SOME ARE RARE, BUT WHAT MAKES THEM VALUABLE??? HOW WILL THEY IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR LIFE AS YOU FORK OV
R A WEEK'S SALARY? SELLERS MIGHT ASK HIGH PRICES BUT IF PEOPLE WILL BUY THEM, THEN THE PRICES ARE FAIR. REMEMBER, NO ONE FORCES YOU TO BUY A BB. IF YOU COLLECT BB'S FOR THE SHEER FUN OF IT - WHILE ACQUIRING THEM AT THE SANE PRICE OF $5-10, I AGREE THAT IT IS A WORTHWHILE AND REWARDING HOBBY. IF YOU ARE DISGUSTED, THEN STICK TO THE PRIMARY MARKET.
- when will the bottom fall out?
- I am getting very frustrated about how hard they are to find. I always say thats it I'm not going to collect anymore. Now I see your newsletter for the first time and show the news coming out and I'm getting upset about it because it was so hard to get Jan. bb. But the ones I'm most in a panick about are the Mctbb. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!
- I often go to this store in the New york area to purchase Beanie Babies...this store normally charges $4.99 but had reduced the price to $3.99 on all the ones that were not selling and because Ty kept sending this particular store the same ones. The store owner said that the Ty Rep. came in and said that she could not sell the Beanies for $3.99. I just do not understand the logic of this because they do not care if stores are charging $12.99 or more for the common ones. This is rediculous and Ty sh
uld not be allowed to tell store owners that they cannot sell their Beanies for less than $4.99.
- I don't like it that Diana is so hard to find and then when it's found it's a ridiculous price. Also the same with Erin. If Princess is suppose to fund Diana's funds then why is all the extra 100's of dollars going into greedy retailers pockets.
- Currently I am collecting sets of the Teenie Beanies. I think they will dramatically rise in price once the new TBs are released. I am a Peace Bear nut with over 3 dozen. I collect the unusual colored ones and frequently pay from $80 to $100 for one. I buy these off the net.
- I think Libearty should have two "offspring" named the "Sons of Libearty "for a 4th of July release. This is based on a childhood song I remember.
- how hard it it to find them in the store, then you go to to the flea market and there readilly available for an incredible price
- I think more of the original nine will retire
- Love the Beanies!
- Are retailers able to buy Princesses and Erins at the regular price and then just take all the profit for themselves? Or does Ty charge more for some beanies than others? Also how is the money getting to the Princess's fund if all these people are raking in extra money for themselves. This defeats the purposes and really stinks!
- I would like to see the availability of the Erin Bear and Princess Bear increase and be more reasonalble in price.
- It would be really nice if the kids were able to purchase the ones that they want instead of the secondary dealers buying them all up and then charging unreal prices for them. It's a real shame that something that was meant for children has become a booming business for so many adults. It's okay if you're buying them because you like them, but to take people to the cleaners is another thing.
- I just love all BEANIES!!!!
- Since bears are favorites of many people I wish ty would not make them quite so hard to find.
- Just that I love collecting beanie babies but wish the were easier to find in retail stores.
- At first collecting was FUN! It was a project my mother, daughter and myself could do together and have fun, but then the long lines, unavialable beanines and GREED made it a "chore". I HATE the fact Ty doesn't make "certain" beanies easier to get. My child wants an Erin..the shops are only getting a dozen at a time and sell them out to their "friends" first!
- i'm confused on why one dealer charges $5 and another dealer charges $25 for same beanie baby
- It's nuts, the prices people are asking/getting.
- Yes, i have two beanie babys, without the ty tag, i have the grey happy the hippo, without either tags, and legs the frog, just with the tag on his leg, how much would they be wirth?
- My 9 yr old daughter wants TY to retire Roary the lion so they can make room for Leo or Noodle the lion (after Leonardo DiCaprio)
- I would like to see Ty do a collie, an orange cat, an oranutan, and a wooly mammoth
- I ENJOY BEANIES MAINLY FOR THE FUN AND JOY IT BRINGS TO MY KIDS. WE HAVE FUN FINDING BEANIES IN REGULAR STORES LIKE HALLMARK (CARD 'N QUILL HALLMARK IN ALAMEDA, CA IS ESP. NICE AND VERY FAIR.) WE HAVE GONE TO A COUPLE OF "BEANIE SHOWS" TO BE APPALLED AT THE PRICES AND GREEDINESS OF THE SECONDARY MARKET. THIS IS ALL TOO SERIOUS, AND TAKES THE FUN OUT OF IT FOR THE KIDS. WE HAVE WITNESSED ADULTS ARGUING LOUDLY WITH EACH OTHER OVER PRICES, AND NASTY ATTITUDES. IF THIS CONTINUES, WE WILL STOP GOING
O THE BEANIE SHOWS BECAUSE IT IS NOT WORTH IT. EVERYONE WANTS TO MAKE A DOLLAR, BUT THIS IS RIDICULOUS. WE ALSO WISH THERE WAS A WAY TO CONTROL HOW MANY OF THE SPECIAL BEANIES LIKE ERIN AND PRINCESS THAT HALLMARK OR ANY GIFT STORE, CAN SELL FIRST TO THE EMPLOYEES. I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN ERIN BEAR OR PRINCESS BEAR OR EVEN HEARD OF THEM AVAILABLE AT A RETAIL GIFT STORE IN THE BAY AREA. THAT IS DISCOURAGING TO THE KIDS. THE RAFFLES AND SUCH ARE OK. BUT WE KEEP HEARING THAT EMPLOYEES ARE BUYING CHOICE BEAN
ES BEFORE THE CUSTOMERS EVEN KNOW A BOUT IT. ALL IN ALL, BEANIE COLLECTING HAS BEEN A POSITIVE AND FUN HOBBY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. THANKS, LDY
- I do not like that stores hold for certain people and sell to others at higher prices
- Love the low price and fact they are so cute!
- THIS RULES
- I would like to have the opportunity to purchase the ones I want and have them more available to us, like princess and erin.
- More of the diana bears, Erin
- why is erin so expensive if it just came out?
- Pattie and Pinchers should be retired!!
- no
- none
- I don't like that retailers limit how many different ones I can purchase, and that I have to purchase so much in store merchandise to purchase one of the hard to find beanies they keep behind the counter. But will sell to someone they know without the required added purchase.
- would like princess di bear to be out for all people to obtain at reasonable prices after all noone should be deprived of a beanie because of financial situation many children who looked up to princess di as a role model would love to support her charity in their own little way and it would bring a smile to alot of childrens faces to know they are making a difference thank you
- Too much repetition in the product line. Need to expand animal choices. How about a chipmunk, hummingbird, black lab? Why two whales, two dalmations, tons of bears. The scarcity and thus overpricing of Princess and Erin is annoying too.
- The fact that TY retires some as they announce new ones keeps the market going.
- I think Ty should not of dropped their cap on prices of beanie babies , that would stop the retailers from ripping off the general public who used to think it was un collecting these with her children!! It is NOT fun anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I do not like the way the secondary market got princess, erin, maple, and britannia and first editions and marking the prices up!
- we should all keep in mind its for the children
- I think Princess should be more attainable.
- I do not like that TY is closing stores accounts for no reason.Just because TY can not keep up with the demand, they close stores accounts. What is going on.I think they should close Hallmarks accounts for selling the new releases for $12.00 each........My 6 year old can not afford $12.00 for 1 that is normally $5.00...
- no
- I think they need to go ahead and retire several now and more late summer and in early winter. Retailers should have set prices by Ty and must abide by those. It is ridiculous to pay $250 for princess or erin. They should be $6 like the rest. Can an individual become a authorize beanie retailer?
- I love all the bunnies, beanies or not, but the whole bunnie collection stays on my bed. I love them!
- I HOPE THIS CRAZE CONTINUES FOR A LONG TIME.
- If stores would quit letting people know when they get BB's in - they wouldn't get as ambushed, the clerks wouldn't be so irritable and more people would have a chance to get BB's!
- i luv beanies, started my collection 3 days ago, have 4 already!
- I dislike the adults making it hard for kids to get them
- your idea for beanies was good, I just wish it was still as easy as it used to be to get them... I can never find them any more, because people who resale them camp out at the stores and buy them all before us kids even get a chance. I don't think you should retire them quick like 97Teddy... because it just makes people more greedy!
- I dislike the adults making it hard for kids to get them
- I think (very, very, very highly) that you should make a dragonfly beanie!!!! Please!! I also think mystic should retire soon. I also think that you should re sell a few more flutters! THANK YOU FOR READING
- I HAVE A HARD TIME FINDING OUT WHICH BB'S ARE RETIRED!!!!!
- I enjoy collecting for my own enjoyment!
- I wish retailers would stop ordering only a few for family and friends, then raffeling off 1-2 left , at a large profit. Beanies Rule!!!!! I started by buying my granddaughter Snort-she is only 4--her latest is Prance--her Kitty who goes everywhere with her. They just touch the heart of everyone.
- I can't stand when retailers hold BB's and jack up the $.
- There should be more sea creatures!!
- I wish they could make Princess cheaper! I want to buy her so bad but I can't afford it!
- It's very frustrating trying to get the Princess Bear when only 12 are shipped to a store. Unless you are right there when they open the box, you will never get one. And a few stores are going to raffle the bears off, but that can be expensive ($5.00 a chance) and no guarantee you will get one. Enough should be made so everyone can get one without paying $150.00. It's for charity and it's to remember a wonderful person. I don't like the ideal that people are profit off Diana's death by selling the
Princess Bear for the inflated price when the bought it for $5.00!
- princess should be retired. Let her rest in peace
- I would like them to be one set price
- I don't like the retail stores that raise the prices so high
- create a hamster beanie
- i don't like the retailers that buy them from other retailers and sell them for a higher price because one time i bought one for $12 and there was a price tag on it from another store that we get beanies at and i felt that they were cheating on people
- I personally like Teddy Bears, but I can see how people get really "obsessed" and have to buy every one that comes out!! I probably would be in that cagegory if I had had the foresight of their value when they first arrived in stores -- I would have bought many of each. But then, so would everyone else!! I have been to some secondary market shows and am a bit disappointed with the "dealers" who have hundreds of retired beanies and brag about connections with TY or retailers - They hurt the little kids
ho can't find a Beanie in the local store because they are being held back for the secondary market.
- Hey guys!! Do you really think TY cares..As long as TY gets $2.69 for each BB sold...Why should TY care... :(
- I frankly am in love with these little critters. I am exhausted, though, by the chase -- I never seem to be in the right place at the right time. The secondary market greed has fueled the primary market dealers to start selling at astonishing prices -- $100 for Princess to start. I'll continue to collect (it's too hard to stop, each new introduction has such a wonderful mix), but it is harder and harder as others get into it just to make money.
- The secondary market has the ones i'm looking for but the prices are way-out-of-line and i refuse to buy them for my kids at a inflated price!!
- love to know your projections on what u think might retire
- Tis a great hobby but too frustrating at times!
- They are very cute--Keep up the good job!
- I WANT CORAL SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think that Ty should make and ship the beanies faster.
- I love collecting them, its fun.
- would like from ty, the number of each beanie produced. the worst offender of secondary market is the "shop at home" network on tv. they are a discrace
- stores should not sell at secondary market prices because their are some people who can't afford to pay alot! thanks!
- dislike greedy people selling them!
- I love collecting them but I think it is very dishonest and rude to make or sell counterfeit beanies
- Beanie Babies ROCK!
- Beanie's Rule!
- It would be nice if Ty made the new ones more available especially Erin and Peace
- People are too greedy. I am not going to pay more than $10. for any current beanie.
- They are very hard to get especially for working people, the tied died beanies will worth more money in the future, Erin and Diana will be worth money.
- I think that Crunch the shark should be retired next because he is the only beanie with all teeth showing.
- I think that Crunch the shark should be retired next because he is the only beanie with all teeth showing.
- They are very hard to get especially for working people, the tied died beanies will worth more money in the future, Erin and Diana will be worth money.
- I think that Zip and Curly will retire soon
- no
- i just love them and wish i had princess and erin!!
- I love Beanies but I haven't seen anything as much as the prices of Erin and the teddies, if TY wants to make teddies then he better make lots so kids, like me, can afford them (let alone see them!)
- I like that children love these, not that adults try to make a profit!
- I hate when people buy as many of the same beanies as possible and hoard them. This is not fair. I just want one of each beanie for my daughter.
- Secondary market is too greedy and there has been a recent increase in cheating... tag switching, misrepresentation of values, taking advantage of childern in trading etc.
- I think chocolate will retire next.
- I love Beanie Babies!
- Allthough sometimes frustrated when searching for a popular Beanie Babie, I realize that if they were not so elusive and readily available, they would not command the prices and investment value that they do. I do feel that dealers should sell what they recieve from Ty at a reasonable price. If they continue to sell to secondary markets, they will kill the goose that laid the golden egg. There is nothing like the thrill of walking in a dealers store to see your treasure laid out in front of you after t
ey have just recieved their shipment. In my area of shopping, it is soon apparent who had beanies and who sold such beanies such as Erin. It's amazing how it's always the same dealers. The same dealers who never charge more than $6.00. Yet, out of 50 dealers in this area, only 2 that I know of set Erin on the shelves. One was a hospital and another was a gift shop. Yet in this same area, where secondary dealers set up shop at flea markets or whatever, always seem to have a ample supply of the latest Beanie
first. This is wrong. It takes the excitement out of it. There has to be a better way. I once bought Valentino at a Hallmark for $10 each. It is the only bear I've seen at a Hallmark. Get rid of the Hallmarks and stores that have large numbers of employees. The hot items are not getting to the General public. Secondary markets are fine, If those dealers are getting their beanies the same way everyone else is. The lottery, the baskets made up with beanies and unrelated products that don't sell, and the hoa
ding of the Bears have got to stop at the Hallmarks. If the trend continues, I for one, am giving up and moving on to another hobby. Leave the charities to organizations other than gift shops. If Hallmark is so generous, give the beanies to those organizations and let them raffle the Beanies.
- RETAILERS SELLING THEM FOR $15.00 OR MORE
- Never thought I could get this caught up in anything. I would never have believed this could be so much fun, and so addicting.
- I'd like to know how all these secondary retailers get ahold of the new beanies (Princess and Erin) before anyone can get them from the authorized retailers.
- Why wasn't Peace on the list for Q18?
- I wish TY would ship more of the new beanies so the secondary market would stop driving up the prices so outrageously high. And all of the people who paid $200 for Princess & Erin would think boy was I dumb. I should have waited for the price to come down.
- Why wasn't Peace on the list for Q18?
- I'm afraid that I got into this craze too late and it will fall apart.
- I dislike the fact that before Christmas you couldn't find any and now you can find all but the new ones all over
- not enough bears to go around
- I dislike the fact that before Christmas you couldn't find any and now you can find all but the new ones all over
- I love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I just think it isnt fair that new beanies such as Erin should be too expensive for people to get. Save the expense for the retireds.
- Those who have "more dollars than sense" should stop paying so much for current beanies, it's a dumb investment that way!
- adult collectors keep the market going, otherwise it would just be a bygne fad, remember hula hoops?
- retire them all and watch the madness
- adult collectors keep the market going, otherwise it would just be a bygne fad, remember hula hoops?
- I think that TY beanie babies were a great idea! They bring joy and fun to many people.I do think that making counterfeits are cruel because people pay lots of money for them. I also think that some of the prices should be lowered, because epople can't afford what they love to collect!!
- I hate capitalism!!! Retailers are making 5000%profit
- I think that TY beanie babies were a great idea! They bring joy and fun to many people.I do think that making counterfeits are cruel because people pay lots of money for them. I also think that some of the prices should be lowered, because epople can't afford what they love to collect!!
- The secondary market is selling certain Beanie Babies at too high a price. It was suppose to be for children, it's not for children anymore when Erin or the Princess Bears are going for $180 to $250. What child has that kind of money. Even the retired ones are way up there in price, $20 to maybe $60. I sell them at the store I work for and the childred can not buy the ones they want because the prices are so high. If the adults do buy them you better believe they don't dare to give it to the child be
ause of it's high price. Isn't there something the Ty Co can do to stop the maddness?
- I don't like the way many retailers handle the sale of new shipments! Scarce ones like Princess or Erin ar often all reserved for "favorite" friends, rleatives or customers.
- Those stores that are selling beanies with a certain amount of purchase should be totally be dropped from the retail list. Most of them are probably are not getting direct from TY Inc. Where are they geting them? From Retailer that are ordering a substancial qty of beanies to sell only to retailers. This is not fair to other retailers who are being honest with their sales. I have heard that even the stores that are fairly honest are not being fair with the limited special additions. They give those
to family members or even get a great profit to choice costomers. I don't know what should be done about this or if anything can be done. I there is a lot of people out there that are buying these outragious priced beanies when they should be putting money back to educate their children or grandchildren. An I,m sure some of these families are spending money that was susposed to be spent on food for their children. I've seen it priorities are not in the right prospective. And again , what can you do about
that .? Actually the smartist people have yet to purchase their first beanie. Those are people that are not hungry and don't have to worry about what time they should be in line for the next beanie sale. The best sale I heard was when a college student sold her 26 mouth old beanie collect to pay for her next quarter college tuition. Think the child will miss them? hope I haven't discouraged you to much, after all what is this going to matter to those who have the beanie fever. Happy Trails!
- I think Maple will retire because Libearty is retired, and Maple has been out for a while
- wish TY would release sufficient amounts so everyone has a chance to acquire one - at least
- I have been thinking that TY may do as Garth Brooks did and seued the used tape market for his share of the profits. This would seem appropriate, I know it is hard on retailers to sale a beanie for $7.00 for the person to walk and side and get $40.00, also in regards to th Princess Di foundation fund. Who knows, all is fair in making profit it seems.
- My 5 year old daughter wnts to trade over 90 beanies for Flutter! We would love to see a new Butterfly! All stores in the area are selling hard to finds at secondary market prices, and above. Peace 40.00 at three locations, or the say they have not received. We do not , or can not look at all ty dealers due to price, etc.. I have many stores that are selling way above TY suggestive prices for Beanies!!!!!!!! Can anything be done?
- Hooray for the honest retailers that sell all Beanies for the same price!!!
- Hooray for the honest retailers that sell all Beanies for the same price!!!
- RETIRE BRITTAINIA AND PRINCESS!
- They are charging to much for Erin!!!!!!! For Princess, they are charging $900 at some places when the beanie costs only a dollar or so to make...it's so rediculous! I bought Princess for $100 which I think is a lot for a bean bag!
- I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE MORE OF RARE BEANIES
- don't like that the cost so much. Too many people collecting, not enough beanies out there to get what you want.
- I love them and so do my children and grandchildren. I think the high prices are a shame because it makes it harder for the kids to get the ones they want. The store owners should be prohibited from selling their beanies for high prices. The dealer where I buy my beanies has been charging $8.99 since I started buying them and just recently raised her price to $9.50 . . . .makes it so easy for the kids to buy their beanies ! ! !
- I THINK THEY SHOULD MAKE MORE OF RARE BEANIES
- I hate that so many of the bears are nearly impossible to find and are very expensive when available. No one sells a Princess, Erin, Britannia or Maple for retail.
- I think that more of the rare beanies (like Princess and Erin) should be available at lower prices (less than the $400 I've seen). I think Ty will retire a few of the numerous dogs that are out now soon.
- I think Erin the bear is the cutest. I don't see why peaople are selling her for so much. She is brand new for god sakes!!!!!!
- Need/Want more information about the official club we understand is starting.
- I think ALL Beanie stores should have to sell them for $5 and have more in stock because they are only around for 2 days after delivery. I also think people should have the retireds for kids at a good price like under $30.
- I love collecting beanie babies very much and they should be in more stores and stores should get a bigger selection
- I think they should expand thier factory so they can keep up on thier beanie orders
- Ty is WAY too greedy - Beanies should be more available and retailers should be able to order those available. Ty also needs a great deal of help in the supply/demand area - they appear clueless. The animals are cute, but not worth the effort anymore.
- I hate that so many of the bears are nearly impossible to find and are very expensive when available. No one sells a Princess, Erin, Britannia or Maple for retail.
- It is too bad that people are allowed to sell some of these beanies at ridiculous prices since there are some of us out there who love collecting certain types of beanies and cannot afford these prices. The reasonable prices are hard to find.s @
- On April 1 3 new beanies are gonna retire!!!
- I find it sad that my children used to be able to save enough money to buy a $5.00 BB and now the retailers have even gotten so greedy that they are selling them for so much more and the children cannot afford to buy them as regularly as before. Also, how difficult it is to find some of the BB is sad. Even if they are not retired they make it difficult to locate ones such as Peace.
- I like how the market is lasting, but I dis like TY limiting the authorized dealers to 12 per month of Erin and Princess
- the rosters suck
- I think the new beanies should be more readily available for everyone before being shipped out a few at a time and only to a few stores at a time. The prices are outrageous for a collection that is for a child!
- I would like to see them in more stores such as Target and other discount stores so there are more available.
- some people are to crazy over them and are in it for the money not the fun
- I believe that the chains of retailers that are receiving beanies are family greedy. They take care of theirselves first and customers last. Secondary suppliers are very greedy in Ohio. Erin priced at $245.00, just plain people like me can not find the bears, etc. or we can not afford their prices when we do find them. I started in Dec. 1997, and it gets pretty hard to stand in a line all night long to find out that they only have five erins and etc. Then you go to a secondary sport store and ye
he has a lot of them for $245.00 each. Ha. I am about to give up to them, and sell the ones that I have left just to get my money back. Thanks
- i think some dogs will retire because there are so many!
- store owners get what they want first
- For the next year I predict that beanies will continue to sell rapidly, then drop rapidly to nothing at all. All of the collectors will be very dissapointed but you and me both know that this is true.
- I hate the secondary markets & won't purchase any, also I feel that TY should have released Princess should have been made available to all of us - I don't have an extra $200 for a Princess
- I dislike that people will sell a current beanie babie like congo as high as $20 when you can buy them at a store for just $6.00
- Too many greedy people, I sell currents for $10 and Retrireds no matter how old for $15 to $25. Plus shipping $3.00 and cod charge $3.50, wish more people would. Also give some extras to kids. For instance a friend knew a girl named daisy, her parents have a hard time finding anything with Daisy printed on it , so when Daisy the cow came out I sent it to their daughter for christmas, but did not put a return address on it just santa. Her parents are still wondering how it got there and from who. That
what beanies were made for!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Try to get more people invovled in beanies.
- I think that they should make a persian cat and name it fluffy, and they should make a wolf called Midnight. Beanies are great!!
- I wish Ty would make all Beanies available at all times - no shortages - so that there aren't any shortages and therefore no secondary market price markup.
- What "beanie phenomenon"?
- What "beanie phenomenon"?
- I think that Erin is going to be retiared
- The retailers need to get more at a time or more than 1 shipment a month. They are getting to be too hard to find or the retailers are out of them the same day that they get them in, and when you work days, that makes it hard to get out there to get them. Alot of retailers are raising the price on them too. One retailer I go to charges $10 for the new ones, when they should only cost $5.
- I'm disappointed that the retailers are now setting their own prices as high as the secondary market which takes away from the kids who save up their money to buy these beanies and can't get the ones they want because they can't afford them. Isn't this su
- none
- I Wish That Some Retirees Weren't So Dang Expensive Because I Really Like Them But Can't Afford Them.
- I think that ty should retire more of them!!
- Love them - keep them coming
- They should make a deer, bring Brittania and Maple to the US, and make more Princesses and Erins.
- i think that one day you should make like three of each of the retired beanie babies and auction
- how can you get princess and erin over the internet and how much????
- I think the collection process is somewhat bad for little kids. My four year old daughter is very worried about retirements. It makes her feel there is a sense of lack in the world, and at age 4, that's hard. She is sometimes worried that spaghetti wil
- The retailers in my area are rude and treat us poorly. They tell me that they do not call people, but I see a list right on the counter. They hold their bears back for their friends and sometimes sell them on the internet. I think these retailers should be warned and then dropped. This is supposed to be fun and emjoyable, but the retailers make that extremely difficult. Thank You!!
- I think there should be stores that sell only beanie babies
- I think is it awful how they were made for kids, but knids can't afford them
- Whoever wants to give me free Beanies is welcome to.
- I wish they were more reasonably priced. Last summer I purchased Digger the Crab and Goldie the Goldfish from a vendor at my office for only $5.50. The cheapest I can get them now is $8.00. I am however pleased at the value these two are worth now!! I never would have imagined this when I got them. And what happened to 'THE OFFICIAL BEANI BABIES CHECKLIST' of Active and retired Beanies and the calendar with the birthdays on www.ty.com. I printed it a couple of weeks ago and can't find it today??
Thanks.
- When ever a new beanie comes out the stores charge more usually 10.00 and when it's a bear forget it up don't stand a chance look at the prices of Princess and Erin I was in a store today and Princess was 150.00 and Erin was 200.00 what happen to the 6.00 beanies so when ever a good beanie comes out it cost us. I truly feel that Ty should make a limited edition bear that you could order so that everyone could get at least one becasue lately I've been spending way to much on bears I have three children
so how can I come home with just one Princess or Erin? Watch the same thing is going to happen with the next new bear.
- I wish that someday there will be a golden retriever.
- My name is Melissa the poo
- i think that the secondary market and some stores take beanies for granted and sell them at high prices if its even the littlest hard to find...just the other day i went to a store selling the jan.'98 releases for $30.come on...if they have it,then sell it for what it's realy worth at that time.like $6! same for the secondary market. if you got it for $6 or $7 dollars sell it at least under $15!!!
- my fovorite toys
- I dislike retailers holding back stock for resale on secondary. I dislike raffles for New Bears, ie: Princess and Erin. The search is exciting
- Beanies are a fun and exciting hobby to share with your children. We have tons of fun talking about , looking for, buying and playing with our Beanie Babies!
- I think that adults are taking over what should be a children's collection. How is a child supposed to buy a $600 beanie? I feel that people are being selfish and immature about these things; they are toys. . .stuffed animals for KIDS.
- I'm reallt tired of the dealers waiting overnight at hallmark stores to get the newest first. Normal people have jobs and cannot do this I have two children that both have a collection and its getting harder to get the new ones than the old. the dealers took Erin and forced her to 225.00 or higher nad dint they pay 5.00 for them. Ithink dealers should stop hiking the prices before the new ones have come out and hoggin the toys meant for children. I love beanies too but with two kids its hard to col
ect when 5.00 toys are being sold at 300.00 + dollars when we should get a chance to collect before the prices get too high!!!
- I LOVE these things! Also, I'm having lotsa lick trading at school-I know 2 people who have Brownie the bear, and others with more!
- Beanie Babies were created for kids to love, not adults.
- I absolutly love beanies!!!!!!!!!! Everyone has at lest one these days!!!!!!!!!!!
- The secondary market has gotten out of control, which will cause REAL collectors to give up. The older retireds are becoming un-affordable (I WILL not pay $500+ for a retired beanie. Last summer, the prices for retireds were $100 or less and made it acceptable to try to collect...It is a shame, as there was a real void in collecting, since Barbies and GI Joes were popular. Idea for a new bear would be a bear called Charity (for Mother Theresa, royal blue with a white cross and a white ribbon to matc
the Sisters of Charity...they could donate to their good works.
- sport beanies like football bear and baseball frog will be made
- I don't like secondary market getting all the beanies and people who really love them can't afford them.My mother was very depressed and is home bound and I got her collecting them and because of the secondary market she cant afford them where she could get them if they were the price they are supposed to be.
- Dislike what they are doing with the new teenie beanie babies, its unfair, the should be punish for it.Someone is posting the new set for alof of money. Its sickening.
- I would love to have a Princess, but I know I will never get one, because of greedy people that are interested in money. I just collect them because they are cute.
- My store doesn't get their order a lot
- I think if any store is given the chance to buy beanies all stores, not including chains should be able to.
- I would like to see some action from the company to have tight control over authorized dealers selling it through the back door; they are worst than the secondary dealers.
- I think the next ones to retire will be Gobbles, Bones and Stretch ?
- Echo the Dolphin is soon to retire (I hear) because several years ago Sega Genises came out with a game called "Echo the Dolphin". I think we might have a new "Doodle" or "Tobasco".
- I think that the bunny trio will be retired soon and all together.
- the January beanies should cost as much as the other curent beanies
- YOU SHOULD MAKE MORE BEARSWITH THE EMBLEM LIKE PRINCEES, ERIN, VALENTINO, AND PEACE
- high costs of new beanies ex: erin, princess
- I dislike the way some stores sell beanies like Peace (and other teddies) to their employees, even if they don't collect Beanies. Then us without relatives or contacts within the system don't have a fair chance to get a rare beanie for a reasonable price
- When TY retires he should retire a couple of new ones( like he did with the snowman)
- This was started for children. Lets keep it that way and just let adults play along!!!!!
- none
- This was a good survey.
- This was a good survey.
- Beanies are going to get even more popular
- Many authorized retailers are going too far by holding inventory for special friends, store employees, and customers who are willing to pay extra. Greed appears to be a factor. This is taking the fun out of collecting.
- I am too new at this to make predictions. I have discovered that I dislike using my vacation to wait in line when new ones come out like Erin and Princess.
- Go Beanies !!
- I think Curley is going to retire soon . Ecspecally with Erin and Princess out !!!!!!!
- Beanie phenoneon...your books are too expensive! I can buy 12 beanie worl mags. for the price of that book!!!!!
- :.>
- I would like to see more cooperation from TY when there are questions. I would like to have access to someone who has been with TY from the start to communicate with on the net. I hate getting up at 4 am to wait in line.
- I would like to know how to contact TY to tell about a TY dealer who is price gouging??? Please let me know if you know. Thanks
- What I dislike the most is Ty always stating that they have nothing to do with the secondary price hikes. Yet, Ty is always doing things by chance which causes the secondary market to sky rocket. I don't think it's accidental.
- I love beanies - but feel sorry for the kids who used to be able to be able to collect them - parents can't afford the time or money to get them for their chiildren anymore.
- I wish that I could get Erin, but I don't exactly get $1000.95 for my allowance, and I'm sure other kids don't either. I DId, however, get Princess for $5.00(WOW!!!), but I'm not so sure 'bout Erin. I think that(As much as I would hate for it to really, truley, happen) Ty is gonna kill their market. I wouldn't be surprised if it was sometime this year. I do know a store, though I won't list it's name, that is the most UNREALILABLE store I've ever delt with. They promised us that the first 12 people to
be in line would get Erin, but they sold all but 4 of them before putting them out to dealers. I was number 10 in line, so I didn't get her. She's my definete fav.!!! Sincerly, Jaina, Shauna, and Jacen Asgharian
- I am extremely disgusted with TY regarding Erin and Princess. Retailers in SD are selling them out the back door and there is no way the average collector or child will ever be able to acquire on. Paying extra for retireds is one thing, but this is rediculous. I'm about ready to just quit because this looks like it could be a trend and if so then the fun will definitely be gone. If TY wanted the proceeds of Princess to go to charities, why didn't they just donate her to charities and let them aucti
n her off? The one or two retailers we know of that had auctions for Princess, auctioned off only one, what do you suppose happened to the others. Very disgusting.

- I am extremely disgusted with
- They should be sold in Japan!
- We choose to remove the swing tags and give them to our kids to play with, they are 3 and 1. I wish more people would remember that these are just toys!
- I do enjoy collecting the beanies but do wish that some of the ones like Erin and Princess were more reasonably priced I think 400 for erin is way out of most peoples price range
- Colored bunnies most likely to soon be retired
- I'm sorry I'm getting in on it so late, but I could never find them in the stores until recently. That makes me nervous. Are they more available because people are losing interest? The prices would indicate that is not true. I wish all the stores would sell all beanies at the same price.
- Hallmark sucks!! they are greedy, prejudice, snooty, place retires on consignment with secondary dealers.
- Retailers who sell out the back door, or even sell blatanly for hundreds of dollars piss me off. Oh, and also when they reserve for "special" customers. I was in a gold crown hallmark and was being told they had no beanies, when a lady walked in and the other clerk said "Oh hi MaryAnn...your beanies are in the back, like usual"
- Interesting how they are not manufacturing as many new ones.
- I love the Beanies in general and have a good time Beanie hunting. i don't like the way some retailers hoard the benaie, but then again they complain about the inconsisent way Ty ships Beanies and it seems all of the employees also have the"bug". So how can the public get the ones they want! There are too many really greedy people out there, the prices go up much too fast,( But I guess there must be plenty of 'nuts' who are paying these ridiculous prices!
- I don't like it how people buy Beanie Babies for $5.00 and $6.00 ˙
- Employee greed seems to be making this hobby unaffordable for my 11year old son.It is a shame that he cannot get any of the "desirable" beanie types because they are priced way out of our family budget.
- I hate the fact that selling Beanies has turned nice business people into mean, rude and full of lies!! They lie strait to your face!! Some Hallmark stores are trying to sell to the secondary market!! They need to remember that people have Caller Id!!!
- control authorized dealers on prices and rules.
- COOL! :)
- I THINK THE RETAILERS THAT ARE SELLING THE BEANIES ARE GONE A LITTLE OVER BOARD ON THR PRICES,THEY WERE BROUGHT OUT FOR THE PLEASHER OF THE CHILDREN AND THERE IS NO CHILD I KNOW THAT RECEIVES $100.00 OR $200.00 A WEEK FOE ALLOWANCE AND THE WAY THEY ARE SELLING THE NEW ONES ARE A LITTLE OUT OF HAND.
- I do not understand how a store can be selling a 1997 Teddy for $25.00, and another store is selling it on the same day for $5.99.
- Love those beanies!
- alot of ty dealers limit you on your purchases
- alot of ty dealers limit you on your purchases
- I feel that if retailers continue to ask exorbitant prices even for current babie like peace and valentino, then there will soon be a large collector drop.
- I simply love them!!!!
- Love them all! It would be more fun to be able to find Beanies in stores more often. It's disappointing to a young child not to be able to buy one with his own money.
- I think collecting beanies is fun and chanllenging, but I think alot of the retailers and the secondary market are draining the fun out of the craze. I started them for my son but the prices that people are charging for the hard to finds make it almost impossible for us to finish our collection. I wish it could go back to being fun again. I would like to add that it brings a smile to my face to see my child along with his friends play with and get so excited about these cute, little critters! Thanks
for taking the time to do a survey....I think they are greatly needed.
- I like the fact that large chain stores are not retailers of beanies. This gives me the chance to experiance the many items that these places have to offer. I might not have gone to them if not in pursuit of beanies.
- Nope
- I like the fact that large chain stores are not retailers of beanies. This gives me the chance to experiance the many items that these places have to offer. I might not have gone to them if not in pursuit of beanies.
- It's great fun!!!
- Princess should not be boughten on the secondary market unless all the money is going to charity as intended
- I don't think it is fair that beanies such as Princess and Erin and Brittania are going for such astronomical prices because a collector such as myself and my children cannot afford to pay these prices. I think restrictions should be placed on the retailers for all current beanies and if not they should not be able to sell these anymore.
- I had collected a set of over 100 beanie babies for my kids and when all the retailers started selling them for outrageous prices I sold them all except for the bears, its very discouraging when retailers sell only to friends and family or out the back door, I didnt stand a chance.
- I believe Ty creates this craziness. If they came out with sufficient numbers then the secondary markets would not be successful. They seem to be able to get unlimited numbers of the Princess, Erin and Peace and other retailers have none. I also believe the retailers who do receive these beanies are selling to secondary markets or they keep them for themselves and their families. They help create the problem also. Why does Ty come out with a limited number of the beanies? They still only get thei
regular amount of money for them. Is it because the shortage keeps people running to find them and hopefully they pick up other beanies while they are in each store. I am a very patient person and have been treated very badly by store employees when I ask if they have any or know if they are getting any. I realize they are asked many times a day but this is my first time and I expect to be treated with respect. They may not realize it but beanie buyers purchase other items in their stores also. If tr
ated badly they may not return. I also do not like the fact that I may or may not be advised if they have something I am looking for unless I make a purchase before I ask. What about those of us who work? By the time we get to the stores they are gone. I hear the same people buy them all the time and seem to be able to find them everywhere. What about the rest of us who are getting quite fed up with the constant driving from place to place on our lunch hours and on Saturdays. We come up empty handed
nd are very discouraged.
- I buy them because they are cute and I wish that some of the retired ones could be bought at a more reasonable price that I could afford. But even if I can't get the older ones (I just started getting these and did not have any idea what was going on) I will still buy the new ones that come out.
- just love them
- To call oneself a "true" Beanie collector, one must submit to the challenge of finding Beanies wherever and however they can! I would like to see a porcupine and a deer added to the collection.
- The only problem i have is if i go a day or two without buying any i get depressed and have panic attacks
- I am wondering what beanies will retire.
- I couldn't understand why people were so obsessed with Beanie Babies. UNTIL I bought my first Beanie Babie. It has become an obsession. I have all my Longenberger baskets filled with Beanie Babies. I just love looking at their cute little faces. I dislike people who become nasty when shopping for Beanie Babies. It takes all the fun out of it for me. I get frustrated when I can't find a Beanie that I really want like the Princess and Erin. I also would love to have Garcia. I have donated Bean
e Babies to silent auctions in our community. They are always big money makers. I love to give them as gifts.
- I don't like store owners selling the Princess bear and Erin on the internet, instead of selling her to their customers. So that everyone can have a chance to buy them.
- when i began buying beanies they were available everywhere, but recently they have become almost impossible to find.
- Reatilers are being too GREEDY!!
- Ty has caused way too much stress to the average collector in his handling of the Princess and Erin. The difficulty in obtaining these two are starting to turn people off and has caused the secondary maarket to go out of control.
- dislike retailers upping primary costs
- I think Ty is jerking us all around now -- too many retireds & new ones being released before they are even on the market.
- I think that it is disgraceful the way that UK dealers are sending ALL their Britannia's over to the US to make a huge profit. Those of us who live in the UK can't even see one, let alone buy one!
- Antiques Arts & Collectibles Paris,Ky sells beanoes for$6.00 everyday every one that makes it nice for small collectors with small pocketbooks
- I love the fact that they have so much character!
- Dislike people purchasing for intended immediate resell. I would confront someone purchasing many same style beanies. I predict to retire: Chocolate, Patti, Happy, Squealer, Zip (never saw ) and Seaweed.
- lower prices on retired bbs
- I want Ty to dump the retailers that sell at secondary prices or out the back door.
- make more teddies
- I wish that us kids could still purchase beanies. I mean, I don't exactly get $250.00 for my allowance. Also, I wish that Ty would either come out with a Collie, German Shepherd, or Wolf, or he should really retire some of the Dogs. I have a Princess that my mom got me for $5.00 and I'll be getting Erin probably in a week or two. But I wish my Dotty could have a Sparky to play with!! Sincerly, Jacen, Jaina, and Shauna
- I think that there should be a limit on how much Authorized Ty Dealers can sell the Beanies for. It is getting way out of control. What started out as a fun, cheap collection is almost to the point of being unable to do.
- tHEY SHOLD BE RETIRED MORE OFTEN
- It started out as a great thing for kids - because of its cute appeal and low price - and now it has become far overpriced and out of range of a child's allowance.
- Lookig forward to the new set of teenies, but I'm not looking forward to the craze!
- Will peak then die down if TY floods the market.
- sick of not being able to get princess and erin at retail prices.
- I would like to see the following beanies created: artic fox, pygmy hedgehog, chipmunk, elk, deer, fuzzy catapillar, collie or sheltie dog, long haired cat, state bears (representing each state, afterall there is Libearty, Britannia and Maple!!!) and I would like to see a polar bear. What about Mom and offspring sets??? I thought Peace was going to be one of the new teanie beanie babies???
- I think Ty Warner is a lousy businessman. He can not keep up with supply and demand. He just cancels orders!!!!! I think the Princess bear is a fiasco. If the money is to be going to charity, then why don't they flood the market with them and give all the proceeds to the Princess Diana charities instead of making some retailers VERY RICH!!!!!
- Beanies rule and are not hazardous to your health.
- Retailers selling Beanies that they pay regular price for and sell at secondary prices should be dropped by Ty. Ask people to e-mail Ty the names of any stores they know of.
- I'd love to see retail outlets regulated to the $5 price unless they plan to donate the excess profit to local charitys or needy children, the greed has gotten way out of hand.
- The BB phenomenon is really incredible. I got sucked into it because I never collected anything before. For one thing, collectibles are always expensive. But BBs are very affordable at $5 - $7 each. I hope the craze continues and what I've already collected for far will appreciate in value. This way I have something of worth to hand down to my daughter!!! ......Tessie
- I think this is a fun thing that Mom, Dad, Kids all alike can get into and enjoy. I hope that prices stay resonable so kids can continue purchasing with their own money.
- I enjoy collecting with my daughter. Every time we get a hard to find retiree, we mark our sites on a new one, but I am concerned that our fun is turning into a lesson of greed, because the authorized retailers are jacking up the prices on the first hand so high that this may be one of those dying collections. It really is a shame.
- Ty should make sure that when they announce a new design, that they actually are capable of supplying the stores. I don't think they should announce new designs unless they are ready to go out the door. Rumors are always flying about new beanies, and when people hear of one they expect to see it in their stores pretty fast. The Erin bear was announced in January, but the waiting time for these to show up is a good 6 months. I can't even buy one at a local store. I have to buy a raffle ticket. An
websites that claim to have them are charging up to $300! I will only buy beanies at the regular price ($4.99 around here). Otherwise, I will stop buying altogether.
- All beanies should first hit the retail maket at Ty set prices. I dont mind the prices going up after they retire, but the retailers who pretend to sell beanies at ty set prices, yet skim off populars like princess, erin, peace, etc should be banded from Ty distributorships for life!
- I resent authorized retailers that sell the beanies above the suggested retail price, and I really resent those that manipulate the market by selling directly to the secondary market!
- I think Squealer the Pig will be retired soon.
- i just want to say i love beanies
- I wish Ty would do something about retailers that are charging more than 5.00 for current Beanies. I also wish that Ty would make Beanies like Peace, Diane and Erin as available as the other currents. My children and I collect Beanies because they are cute and we like playing with them. We don't buy duplicates, and we have never sold any of ours.
- This started out as a fun hobby when the prices were 5.99. I am really shocked at how many shops are selling the jan 98 releases for 15.00 each or more. I am hoping that other collectors will stop paying these high prices. Maybe then, the original spirit of collecting these darling beanies will return again.
- I really hope the beanie baby craze stays around for a while!
- In Boston they play very unfair. You can hardly find a beanie under 10 now anywhere. They hord all the new ones and only put out two or three a day. It's getting really hard to collect.
- I think all the secondary pricings are making the collecting frustrating and taking much of the enjoyment out of it.
- I love Beanies and would like when new ones to come out when they annouce them to. Put them out the day thye announce it.
- I am mad! I am a college student on a semi-tight budget and I cannot find princess bear anywhere for less than $250. You know it's pretty bad when retailers buy each beanie for about $2.50 and sell it for $250! I think ty should pull those accounts!
- I don't like the fact that new Beanies like Peace and Erin are so expensive to the ordinary collector.
- I wish that Ty would open up a mail order department so that all beanie collectors young and old could purchase them and find them at the regular price of $4.99. I'm sick of seeing beanies go in thru the front doors of shops and them go out the back door for 100's more it is very unfair to the customer whom has supported the store all along. Hopefully Princess and Erin will be available to all of us instead of the secondary markets. All my son wants for his 7th birthday which is April 25th is Erin and
call 28 stores a day and wait in line at one for the UPS truck every day to see if they came in. Of course the day my son was sick from school was the day Erin and Princess arrived! :o( So mum was sick the next day!!!! Anyhow I enjoyed your site and can't wait to get your newsletters in my mailbox. Thankyou for your time. You can't imagine how many letters and emails I have sent to Ty asking them to open up a mail order department so that these children can keep up there beanie collections without spending
their college fund money! Sorry to have vented but I am very upset with Ty for putting a limit on these 2 bears so that the secondary market bought them up from the retailers. Hope Ty floods the market with them so that it teaches the 2ndary market a lesson. Don't get me wrong I would love to see beanies be worth a millon some day for my childrens sake! Have a great day and I appreciate the fact that you let people post tp your site. Sincerely, Nancy
- I don't think that it is fair that poor college students can not expand their collection at reasonable prices becouse the secondary market jacks up the price way out of reach for younger people that have a family!
- silly
- Beanies are for kids first.
- I think its totally unfair for retailers to double, triple thier prices and hoard all the new one like princess, erin. If eryone sold them at a fair price everyone would be happy don't you think
- i think mel is going to retire,i herd that mel gobson is seuing ty.
- I hope the beanie business continues, however I afraid that the new FAKES that are out are going to KILL the BEANIE business!
- There seems to be a greater fixation on the bear collection. Would like to see interest levels peak on other types of animals.
- Its actually a great way to teach your children about investments and the stock market in a manner that is fun and readily accepted
- I LOVE Beanie Babies! I wish I had them all!
- My Beanie Collecting friends and I all think it's pretty interesting that only one of the many stores in our county seem to ever get Princess or Erin. The other stores claim they have never had it, or sold them to their employee's. But this one particular store has literally gotten Princess 4 times. And the retail is $5.95. Obviously we support them for their fairness in letting the community purchase them for fair market price. We can only guess where all the other shipments have gone. Greedy seems to
be the word for the other merchants.Thank you
- you have an armadillo, why not make a oppossum snf you have spooky the ghost, why not make an alien? A new ocean animal or fish would be nice also, maybe a sea turtle or jellyfish!
- I dislike the way retailers (at least in my area) are marking up Princess and Erin so high that children definitely can't get them, and many other collectors also can't afford them.
- like any new teddy bears
- I am losing interest as the new ones come out so expensive and hard to find. It makes me want to quit when I see the price for erin. Princess is bad enough. It's not as much fun as it used to be
- I am surprised that Strut is so rare even though she's recently been released. I am also suprised that Gracie is not a great seller--she's one of my favorites of all time! I have heard that these two will be retired soon.
- Think prices are getting outrageous!
- I wish Ty would release more of the new Beanies before they are retired. I have yet seen a Peace in the stores. I have only seen Batty, and Spinner in the stores. I have yet seen a snowball and it is retired. What's the deal?
- I am very disappointed that retailers-even Hallmark stores have raised the prices so high!! I've been buying beanies since 1994 (from Cracker Barrel, etc. for my two grandsons, and a collection for my house for them and me. But now it is sad that it does
- It is totally addictive, but it is something that my mom and I can both do togther and look forward to.
- BEANIE POWER!
- I wish Erin and Princess were not so expensive.
- a friend started and it rubbed off on me... its cute and fun thank you TY
- I'm a bear collector with Beanies as one of those types of bears. At this point, with all of the "special" bears coming out, I'm afraid that retirements are going to begin to happen before those particular bears even show upn our area- driving the prices up so I won't be able to include Beanie Bears in my collection>
- This is the whiniest bunch of people I have ever seen.....Life is not fair. That is the first thing I learned as a child.
- I think that they should bring out a deer and name him Stalker.
- Iam really upset with the way some retailers sell the princess and the erin beanie babies well i guess you could say any that are in demand. I feel they should all offer them at retail and NOT jack the price up just because they are in poupular demand!
- Is there a 12 step program for beanie addicts?
- It amazes me to see a beanie I just paid $5 for selling elsewhere for $75 (such as Blizzard, Gobbles, etc.)
- It amazes me to see a beanie I just paid $5 for selling elsewhere for $75 (such as Blizzard, Gobbles, etc.)
- I do not like the way the stores hord them and hold them for certain people. They pick who they want to sell them to. That is not fair
- Stores should put all beanies out on the shelves and not hold them or sell them to employees only everyone should have achance to purchase, like the erin's you cant buy one because the stores dont put them out they hold them for personal friends or keep them themselves to sell at a much higher price, it makes me mad!!!
- I think that the authorized dealers who sell BB at a higher price should be dropped by Ty. Some of these dealers sell the most sought after BB at incredibly high prices. This makes it impossible for the average child to ever acquire an Erin, a Princess, a Peace, etc. Who does Ty make these toys for, the children or just for those who can afford the 100's of dollars some of these BB are sold for. I can understand these prices for retired BB on the secondary market, but new ones. What a shame!
- I think you shoud make praire dogs, the loch ness monster, a shih tzu puppy, and a tie dyed turtle, because I would love to buy them.
- I think the shipments to stores should be less sporatic
- I think that Ty should make a set price for beanies. It's not fair for a kid that wants Princess or Peace. At a TOYstore they had Princess for $200 and Peace for $75. I found out that they only pay $2.50 a peice for the beanies.
- IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW A LITTLE IN ADVANCE WHO IS GOING TO RETIRE NEXT.
- I really hope the teenie beanies get here soon
- I Love ty Beanie Babies !!! I would like to have them all, but that would be to expensive.
- How about a coyote?
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!
- The way the Princes Bear priced is beyond the normal persons budget
- I think the people that handmake Beanie Babies should be more careful. I mean there are so many defects.
- I think it should say the price on the BB tag, because I was in Washington D.C. and a store was selling Erin the Bear for $345.95
- The way the Princes Bear is beyond the
- A local retailer that I sometimes buy from told me that TY himself has hired several secret investigators to search out those retailers that are selling for secondary market prices in places such as antique malls. Then they will terminate their contract with them.
- I think that retirees and retirements should be more definite, and that Ty should only put out a certain amount of BBs a year.
- It's just frustrating when stores only get 12 cause generally they will not put them out.
- Hope it continues
- I have heard that TY is going to retire all the bears. I like the wild animals, and bears. They have also told me that the reason that they made teanie beanie babies becasue Chelsea Clinton wanted them to.I dislike Twiggs, because he is boring and should be retired that is my opinion. You don't have to take my word on it.
- I think that Quackers or Princess is most likely retire next.
- Get rid of any retailer who charges more than $20 for a Beanie Baby!
- I live in England and I have been trying to obtain a Brittania Bear but all my shops are sending them to USA which is really annoying me but I am determined to get one eventually. I love beanies and am totally addicted!
- I think that some of these beanies are WAY too expensive!
- When they Said that the people could sell the bears at any price that was putting it out out what they said it was for. they said that it shouldn't be to much money that it should cost like 5.00 so that children could buy it!!
- I think it is disgusting that there are people who buy up lots of Beanies and resell them for high prices. This started out as a toy for children and earnest collecotrs - not just rich ones. I have only a few of the before Jan. 1997 retireds - and I will never be able to buy any of them. But when the new Beanies are sold in dozens to second sellers just for personal profit, I feel that is wrong. TY should be the only company making the big profits - after they are the inventors and producers. Lets
try to keep this open to anyone who wants to collect them. By the way - I have never resold any Beanie for more than I paid for it - usually about $5 - $6 .
- I think the market for Princess is really out of line. She was made to honor and raise money for Diana's charities. If someone is selling her for $150 + You know taht profit is not going to the charities it was intended for. Also I work at Cracker Barrel and at my store we had in Spooky or Spook the ghost and a woman ripped it out of the hand of a child that was holding it and pushed him down! This behavior is way out of line.
- easier to find & less expensive
- The question about retailers. I think if retailers are going to sell the beanies in hteir store they should have them at what Ty recomends. I don't have a problem with them taking the beanies out the back door of their shops. In my opinion they should keep at least half of each variety they on the shelves at Ty prices and the rest can go out the back door. Because it is not fair for everybody but them to make extra off of them.
- I don't like it when TY floods the market with too many of the same kind of beanies. As long as they continue to retire some, I think the market trend will continue.
- I think Ty should bring back all the retidered beanies for 6 monthes
- I have really been having a good time collecting beanies. I do hope that TY will come out with some new designs for more bears. I read on a website written by a young girl that she would like to see a bright yellow bear with a sunburst embroidered on its lapel. This would be a very popular bear if it were to come to be. I hope TY gets this idea submitted and seriously consideres it in the near future. As far as dislikes, I guess , I would have to say, that unfortunately, some of the retailers are
aking beanie babies much to serious and some are actually getting a little short tempered with customers who are devoted collectors. But I do enjoy searching and I think I will be right there with all of the other collectors when the new releases are anounced. Happy Hunting fellow Beanie Buddy's
- Pouch the kangaroo is likely to retire. I heard that the little baby inside its pouch is simply sewn on, and can easily be removed (a choking hazard for little children).
- I don't like the fact that TY says they don't want a 2nd market, but only puts out a few beanies to tease and then drives the demand and prices up! Kids can NEVER get the hard to finds..erins princess etc.
- Pouch the kangaroo is likely to retire. I heard that the little baby inside its pouch is simply sewn on, and can easily be removed (a choking hazard for little children).
- I want some money
- Not all secondary merchants are unethical - the good ones provide a great place for people to complete their collection.
- I have a Rainbow the Chamaleon labeled as Iggy the Iguana.
- I don't like it when retailers hold BB's for only a few select people
- princess bear priced way to high!
- authorized dealers should be required to sell their beanies to the public at normal retail prices 5.99 to 6.99 not at inflated prices like one chain in the Phila area-Matthews Halmark selling Princess behind the counter for 100.00 each. Ty should take their franchise away.
- Hated the idea of not being able to buy Princess for my granddaughters and me. money was suppose to go to charity. a sham and a shame. Also want Erin and haven't even seen it around here.
- I just wish they would make more of the bears, they seem to be so limited, and are so popular. Ty should really consider making a lot of the Princess, and Erin bear to keep the prices down and that kids who REALLY want them (and the parents that can afford them) at 6.00 or so can buy them. Thanks a lot!!!!!
- I feel there is alot of complaining surronding Beanies that is really uncalled for, they have become a collectible which is what has caused the secoundary prices and the greed, but hey! look at hot wheels...is it just because this item is targeted more towards women and hot wheels are men? Hot wheels retail for up to $1.10 yet on the secoundary market you can pay hundreds for one! but you don't here alot about it...yet grown men will pull cars from childrens hands...do you see the similarity here? my p
int is...why have the beanies become so controversial? These collectible crazes go on every single day every where. I also feel IF Ty wants beanies to go on forever like hotwheels they need to not drop the small stores....hundreds have been dropped it is very upsetting to many women who have spent hundreds at these little stores on beanies that now this little store could go out of business just because Ty feels like it...this has turned many women sour on beanies. Well happy beanie hunting :)
- TY SHOULD DROP DEALERS W HI PRICES
- My retirement picks are: Happy, Patti, Curly, Zip,, Dotty, Snort, Maple ,Quackers and possible Valentino
- BB's have made our shop a lot of new customers. We hear so many things from everyone who comes in. You don't know what to believe!!!
- wish I could get all of my order on time each month.
- I cant find spunky and i want him he is so cute i even set him as wall paper on my desk top
- I wish TY didn't make the beanies so hard to get...make enough for everybody.
- It will keep getting bigger and better!!
- I think beanies are way to expensive, it's unfair to children who can't afford hundreds at a time.
- I'm really tired of greedy people buying in bulk and then charging the rest of us outrageous prices. I think that retailers should put a limit of 3-4 of each beanie babie purchased. It would make it fairer for the rest of and a lot less frustrating too.
- People say you'll get hooked.. trust them.. you will.. 32 beanies in 2 weeks for me..
- I hope they make a hedge hog
- Most stores in our area put back the hard to find beanies, like Peace and Princess. One store is good to open the boxes and sell them all when they first come in at regular prices. This includes retired beanies, as well as the hard to find. I wish Ty would check into this and put a policy into place to keep stores from making money under the table. It would increase our faith in Ty and perhaps worry all dealers into being fair. Otherwise, how are kids going to get these toys?
- I never thought I would become such a fanatic about this! It reminds me of my childhood joy. It's great to see other people over 50 as enthused as I am. TY...keep up the good marketing strategy. That way we'll be doing this for a long time!
- The stores that sell beanies should not be allowed to sell them for more then 5.00 or 6.00 dollars. They are now selling them (princess and erin) for 50.00 or more. THIS IS NOT RIGHT
- I don't like the fact that you have to be lucky or know someone selling beanies to get certain beanies yet secondary marketers always have these desireable beanies for sale.
- I would like a list of authorized dealers. I adamently disfavor secondary markerters in retailer's clothing.
- I do not like people who buy them just to resell them at a high price when they retire. People horde them and buy 4 or 5 of a new or hard to find BB and do not allow any one else to buy them.
- Having 5 kids 4 of which collect beanies its hard for me to afford any of the new popular ones. I love the sheen on ty beanie babies. Not all retailers hoard their beanies. My 4 year old dragged me into a toy store looking for crunch. The lady said she only had 2 sly when he started to cry she went up to her office and gave him one off her desk. Sweet Lady and to top it off it was 4th edition he loves the stories and only wants a 4th edition in his collection.
- to make the market stand up retire the new jan. beanies (SURPRISE)
- I love them!!!!!!!
- I love Beanies
- How about beanies that have an injury or a handicap that a child might have. Kids that are sick or physically challenged need to feel that their not alone or the only ones with a health problem. Just an idea. Thanks Michelle (rnphn@ldd.net)
- dislike when ty makes a shortage of 1 kind(bears
- SNORT IS NOT GOING TO RETIRE
- How long is this fad going to last?
- started getting them for my daughter a few years ago then they became too hard to find somewhere after xmas 96.....started again a couple of weeks ago after i saw peace and princess and got em both now and didnt have to pay big money with some trades which was nice, because i cant afford to pay what people are asking on the secondary market and could never find them for regular retail or without somesort of raffle etc, thanks for listening to me.....
- I teach at many locations in Houston, including a course that meets weekly at a hotel. In the hotel gift shop, I found a lot of beanies. Different people came in and started talking about beanies - people from all over the world. We had so much fun talking about beanies, pricing, and "rare" beanies. I think that beanies give people a lot of funny and "happy" topics to talk about. I hope that Ty will make the following beanies: cats in "real" cat colors; bears; mourning or turtle doves; parakeet
; a burro; different breeds of dogs. I predict that the Beanie Baby phenomenon will remain a strong trend unless Ty floods the market with Beanie Babies and then tries to raise prices. I think that people like the low prices, the beautiful stuffed beanie babies, and the wacky stories about collecting.
- i think that anort twigs the bunny trio chocolate and zip and snip will retire
- There is one retailer in our area, selling beanies for outrageous prices. I won't buy from her anymore no matter how much i want that beanie. Most of them are very honest and helpful, it's the bad ones which will ruin it for others.
- Demand needlessly exceeds supply!!! We are almost done collecting because we can't find $5 beanies anymore. Ty sickens me.
- Too many retailers are selling to secondary market people. I watched several people buy loads of 1997 Teddy and then sell them on the "street" for $35 each. They bought them for $5.95 at a local Hallmark store. And where is the Beanie Baby Collector Club infor. I go daily to my local Hallmark store waiting for the infor.
- They should make more prehistoric beanies
- I don't like that bears like Erin and Princess are so scarse that it impossible for people without a lot of money to buy them
- I feel that the latest "bear" releases have been unfair. Many retailers in my area have definitely profit from this. Raffles have been created along with purchasing $25.00 from their stores - now who is making the money. Limiting certain beanies have b
- Well I love Beanies and alot of people have told me that the Tennie beanies are back comming out May23
- I feel they should be made easier to obtain. Adults have taken over and children have a hard time finding them.
- Many people think that the new BB pounce the cat will retire because of the cat food brand "Pounce" and they think they will sue and be forced to stop production. This might not happen but it could.
- Just keep those cute little critters coming.
- don't sell to the secondaries market as they are making a killing and it it hurting the honest people
- I think Ty will soon be retiring the bunny trio and valentino, because of their age.
- I think that some adults have forgotten that Ty Warner made these for children but some people get in kids way just to get one for their collection and don't care about the kid!
- I dislike how Ty spaces out their shipments making it hard to get certain beanies. If they found a better way, this would make the secondary less expensive
- I dislike how Ty spaces out their shipments making it hard to get certain beanies. If they found a better way, this would make the secondary less expensive
- Never thought I would get into Beanies, but here I am
- The unpopular ones usually retire.
- I think ty needs to have a poodle I think they would sell really well. I do not like the unavialbility of Princess and Erin. The Secondary Market is good in some ways but how many people can afford to pay the rediclous prices that they are asking for these two beanie babies.
- it is a shame because of the craze private collectors cannot find beanie babies they really would like for their personal collection
- The retired beanies are so expensive hardly anybody can buy them!!
- I luv Beanie Babies
- I can't wait until McDonalds puts out their Teenie Beanies in April.
- I live in Florida which seems to be a tough place to acquire the more desirable Beanies at a reasonable price. The lowest price I have paid for a current beanie is 5.99. I keep hearing and reading stories about people in other states getting Erin and Princess and Peace for the same price(5.99) and I am always amazed!! Seems the secondary market here is quite pricey (10.00 just for currents) so I can't even touch the retireds!! I have almost acquired all the currents so where do I go from here? I made a
pact with myself that 25.00 would be the most I would pay for a retired beanie and I have stuck to it. I got Snowball and Valento for 20.00 each, but I don't know if I will ever see some of the older retireds such as Grunt unless I buy off the Internet. As a new collector, I am doing my homework to try and understand how to purchase safely from the Internet. Money is tight but the desire to collect beanies is strong.....so please be good/reputable dealers out there and remember......it's only a stuffed ani
al.....for our children. Thanks
- I don't agree with the pricing hikes for the current beanies. Erin and Princess should not be in the hundred's of dollars. The are current beanies that my daughter wants and I cannot afford them.
- I think they should make beanie babies more widely available
- I think Beanies should be more readily avaliable in more stores around the country
- They should be more available and at a set price ($4.99).
- i think the pricess are too high. specilay since most kids colect them
- Over the past three years, it's amazing what a craze it has become.
- I feel that the people selling beanie babies on the secondary market, charging outragous prices should be arrested for taking advantage of children/parents. I days when I have seen some beanie babies going for over $300 on the secondary market and yet there are children starving in this country, I want to vommit! It's time for everyone to take time for a reality check! These things are just toys! I know 11 and 12 year olds who are collecting beanie babies to finance their college educations. Again
reality check time! By the time you are ready for college, beanie babies will be on garage sale tables all over America! Come on, these are toys, not savings bonds! Aren't our children more important to us than the lesson that this whole craze is inspiring? Wake up America!
- I dislike QVC supply and prices charged
