- i LOVE beanie babies and i think that: gobbles, crunch, chocolate, pinky, patti, zip, peanut, bongo, happy, and batty are going to retire
- Without a secondary market (good or bad) there wouldn't be any demand for Beanies or a strong first market - Beanies wouldn't be the #1 collectible.
- I feel people who collect them strictly for money are wrong. I collect them because i love them and that is right. Selling a Princess Bear fro over $600 is wrong. I had two Princess Bears and I gave one to my Grandmother fo rher birhtday.
- beanies kick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I don't like when a store receives Erin & Princess and then sells to their friends. The customers don't even have a chance to purchase.
- dislike the difficulty of trying to obtain new beanies like curly, peace, erin ,princess: my kids don't understand that $150 is way too much to spend on a toy they play with
- Retailers jack the prices up to high!
- I think that beanies that are not retired shouldn't cost so much. Theres a place where I live that sells new releases for 18.00!!! WAY TO EXPENSIVE!!
- As a whole, collecting these little creatures has been a pleasant experience. Now that I have all the current ones, I have found the experience of dealing with the secondary market not as pleasant by any means! Also, the manner by which even the retailers distribute the NEWEST and HOTTEST babies is distasteful. I too have participated in the all too familiar drawing/lottery game just to have a chance at one of the highly sought after creatures. Unfortunately, I understand this is just the way the g
me is played and not much can be done. On a different note, I have some ideas for new beanies. A sea horse or starfish would be a nice addition to Ty's other undersea creatures. Thanks for the chance to air my concerns. S. Jones
- I really HATE the stores that wont sel the hard to find beanies they sell them to other stores for more money and when we try to get them for a special occation we cant our son is a great boy always trying to do for others and he want a few new beanies how do you expect us to tell him who unfair and greedy the retailers are? We want him to grow up and trust people but he cant if the adults are so spiteful to the kids they are more concerned in money than making a child happy !!!!!!! THATS SAD!!!!!!!!
- Princess should be available to all
- BEANIE BABIES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Ty is very "crafty" when it comes to releasing new bb and holding back stock on existing ones. They definitely do not need to advertise, they handle their merchandizing well.
- I wish retailers would stop playing favorites on Erin and Princess...put them out on the shelves with the rest of the beanies for "normal" price so kids can at least have a shot at them.
- I wish everyone would just calm down.
- I'm ready for the Teanie Beanie Babies
- Fuck The Secondary Market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- As a new collector, I am totally disgusted with the way Beanie sales are handled. Yet at the same time, whenever I find something good or think I might be able to acquire a new beanie, my heart starts pounding.
- Bears to high in price. Kids can aford to buy them.
- I have really enjoyed beanie babies. I have met alot of really cool people waitintg in lines. I have two girls who are getting burned out because they cannot find Princess or Erin. If this trend continues, I am afraid they will move onto something else to collect. I have no problem with the secondary markets but I do have a problem with the local retailers selling them at outrageous prices. Some of them have totally lost me as a customer because of their unscrupulous practices. What will they do
hen beanie babies are no longer the trend and they've offended all of their old customers?
- I'm anoyed at how fast beanies go...
- I would to walk in a store and not worry about the cost of a certain beanie - like the bears or newly release it gets worst by the minute the price just keep going up Erin 250. & Princess 150. Iggy & Rainbow 20. what next it takes the fun out of beanies when greed gets in the way, come on a couple of dollars difference isn't bad but hundreds I don't think so.

- I DISLIKE THE FACT THAT THE RETAILERS SET PRICES OVER AND ABOVE THEIR PRICES THEY GET THEM FOR. THEY SHOULD BE RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC FOR A SRP .THE RETAILERS SHOULD NOT MAKE UP THE PRICES AS THEY SEE FIT
- I think that any stores that take advantage (charge high prices) for the beanies should be cut off...There's a store in Livermore, Ca. (Livermore Craft Station) that are so nice- they have a calling list of over 700 people-they are trying to be so fair to everyone-so they only sell 1 new release per family per month-they also put everyones name in they're drawing for Princess--36 names were drawn and the lucky ones got to purchase the bear for $5.50. + tax. I LOVE that shop and Dorothy and Carol are
the greatest!!!
- I think it's great and has been the most fun alot of people have had in a long time. I hope Ty Warner can keep it going. I have confidence that he can. He's come this far with it.
- The Ty Company will destroy themselves with their crappy way of doing business. People will get burned out very soon. The only way to keep this trend going is to start bringing out the new and dumping the old. All I know is I will not buy Dianna for $300.00 $ 5.99 is the price it should be & what's the story on Erin? This is why I'm getting burned out. No chance to complete my collection.
- The secondary market on the Princess bear is a disgrace. None of that money is going to charity. Ty needs to put tighter controls on it's retailers. As it stands now, children are the ones who can't afford a toy that was made for them. The Peace bear will probably retire because back in the 1960's the Peace sign was registered as a trademark. Ty is in violation of the law on Peace. The toys are really very nice for little hands to hold. My granddaughter has a complete set that has been collected for
er. They are strictly for her to play with. I only started collecting after I finished getting her her collection. She loves them. I believe that was their original purpose...every child should have something to hold in the night when they are scared. Beanies are very good for this.
- I never thought the BB craze would carry on this long. It seems to be never ending. It really seems a shame that children can't have them to play with anymore. Now, their zipped up in plastic bags and stored away.
- I enjoy the hunt, but I am getting discouraged in the selling practices of some stores. I would think that Ty Inc. would support the suggested sell price and not the price gouging that is going on. I would like to see more kids being able to obtain the beanies instead of the dealers of the secondary market. Thanks for letting me vent.
- I think that the bears that are currents prices shouldn't be jacked up. I thought they were all retired!
- Collecting beanies is teaching my daughter things like, organization, respect and care for belongings, social skills, improved reading and computer skills, and we do it together! Go beanie babies!
- I like all of them thaey are cute.
- My only comment is that I find it totally unfair that retailers are getting in new stock of for example Erin of Princess and immediately marking them up to $200 plus. We know they only paid the same amount they pay for Inch of any other abundant Beanie. This was supposed to be fun and affordable for kids. Ty needs to stop this. Also, I'd like to be able to contact someone at ty to turn in local retailers.
- I wish there was a way to find stores in our areas that carry beanies. I live in Dallas.
- I like most Beanies, but I think that there are way too many teddy bears. They take up about 25% of the Beanie Baby population!
- I really love Beanie Babies. They are so fun to collect and will never go out of style. Just today I saw an article about them in Time. Keep up the good work and continue doing surveys. =)
- The beanie craze better not die out
- This entire craze amazes me, but I think beanies are cute. People profiting from Princess should be ashamed of themselves. The proceeds should go to charity.
- Please get rid of the up/down arrors in price lists
- My all most favorite BB is Erin and then Libearty. I don't have Erin, but when I saw his picture, I fell in love. Thanks for hearing me out.
- I think that Erin, Princess and Maple are going to retire! And I think that retailers should do more drawings for the option to buy, instead of making them way out of my price range
- I think the pastel bunny trio will retire
- Wish Princess was accessable. Why is she so hard to find?
- i very much dislike the secondaries who seem to have a surplus stock of beanies when the authorized dealers who don't ask increased prices have none on their shelves.
- Love the baby animals. A reminder of the innocence of the very young and keeps us young at heart.
- I think that TY should stop making new ones, to let everyone catch-up, then make 10,000 of the retiered beanies without birthdays, sell them for 1 year and aution, trade and sell any leftovers
- it's a fun way to invest money.
- I think that Floppity, Hoppity, Hippity, Mel, Happy, Derby, Blackie, Blizzard, Bones, Bongo, Britania, Chocolate, Curly, Dotty, Fleece, Gobbles, Maple, Mystic, Nanook, Patti, Peace, Princess, Rover, Tuffy, Twigs, Valentino, Zip, and Pinky are going retired this year.
- It sort of makes me mad that everyone is so into Beanie Babies now, I may sound stuck up, but I have collected them for like 4 and a half years. I like that they are popular, but to most people, it is just a phase.
- I feel Ty should ban the sale of beanies at ridiculous prices on the Home Shopping Channel
- it's a fun way to invest money.
- Beanies are a big fad and should stay that way.
- I love Beanie Babies, they are sooo cute!
- Children should be allowed to purchase beanies first when stores get shipments in.
- I think the Beanie Bandits (secondary market) are way out of control. The toys should be for kids.
- distributors should be forbidden to sell to secondary market. These are toys loved by CHILDREN. Secondary market make some IMPOSSIBLE FOR CHILDREN to own.
- I would like to see more bears in the collection
- on the internet there should be a list of all the BB's.
- i am only 6 ears old.i love beanie babies.but i do not have a lot of money to use to buy them.i buy some when it was my birthday but i want the nice ones i like erin peace princess all the bears fleece coral flutter coral and lots of the other ones. my sisters they buy some for me but there only 8 and 11 so they do not have a lot of money to spend my mommy and daddy some times but for me too but they are not going to use 100 dollars or more to buy me toys i wish that the store people would not be so
mean and make me pay so much for beanie babies. also the bid alduts are mean to me when i want to by 1
- I love beanies!
- I really like Beanies!! I think that authorized dealers should be required to sell every beanie at their store at $5.00 ea (plus tax) I think TY should put out more new beanie so that collecting never rests. I also think Ty should retire BB's more often.
- I love it!
- Is Blizzard going to be worth a lot of money
- People at my local mall which is Karcher Mall in Nampa Idaho are selling Beanies for their retirement values. It's not the beanies that are retired it's the NEW BEANIES!!! :-(
- none
- It is very hard to find cheap, affordable beanie babies.
- What?? Back Off!!
- I tell people that have not started not to
- I love Beanie Babies and the other Ty Plush. I collect BBs, Pillow Pals, Dog House collectables, and Kitty Klub collectables. I think the BBs will die out soon and Pillow pals or some other Ty plush will become popular.
- I wishs dealers would put out beanies when they arrive in a shipment, rather than notify people and sell them the next day. Some people in this area camp outside the store as early as 1:30 am. It's impossible to get some popular beanies unless you're willing to do the same.
- I dislike how you can never find Beanies
- I think Chocolate will retire soon
- I think that Gobbles will be retired in the next retirement because he is so complicated to make. Look at all the sections of fabric and intricate stitching patterns. He is so large and has so many colors!
- I think they're cute - I hate the price gouging - I think they'll retire 11 beanies
- SOME PEOPLE ARE SELLING $5.00 BEANIES FOR $12.00 + THAT IS WAY TOO MUCH!!!
- I LOVE BEANIES
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES
- I enjoy collecting beanies and have made many new friends standing in line and on the internet. What I dislike most is stores that are taking their Erins and Princesses and selling them to the secondary dealers. If they have a TY account they should not be allowed to do this.I was at a store last week that received 12 Erins and the management said he would not put them out,He also received 24 Princesses that he wont sell either.Everyone knows where these bears go.It is frustrating. Some of my predictions
or the next to be retired are:Peace,Maple,Lucky,Patty,Scottie,Congo,Seaweed,Waddles,Weenie,Zip,Rover,Ringo and Quackers.
- Secondary sellers have ruined a nice toy!
- The only problem I have with retailers is when the beanies go out the back door. If they put them on the shelf, and the secondary marketers want to wait in line for their turn, that's fine. At least all the rest of us have a chance to get them too.
- I have seen big differences in prices of beanies, from store to store. The best thing to do is shop aroud and know your prices.
- I feel this trend will last another three years.
- Profits from Princess will be donated to charity. If this is so why doesn't Ty make more available so that such donations would be significant? Under their current policy of sending 12 to a store enbles only the store workers to buy them or pack them off to a secondary pirate where the charity does not benefit at all. Surely there is a beeter way to allow everyone interested in botaining one to get one and to have the profit rightfully distributed. Or is Ty secretly bankrolling the pirates and not cari
g about the children?
- I think it's the cat's meow. I love Ty Beanies. Collecting these cute critters kind of compensates for my mom giving away by baseball autograph collection, Madame Alexander Collection, Knife Collection and Steiff collection & my dog when I went to overnight camp at 12 yrs of age. Beanie Babies are definitely addictive. I believe this trend will be around forever as long as Ty doesn't change its policies or sell out to a large co like Disney. They are inexpensive for currents and give everyone from
all walks in life a chance to collect for personal pleasure and investment at the same time. The more Ty retires, the higher the prices go and the more fun the chase. I hear Ty is retiring 30 currents May 1. Since this appeared on the Ty Web site, people have been literally buying out many of the stores' stock in NYC. The only thing I don't like about the marketing is that too many dealers are greedy. My cousin in England has been trying to get Britannias for her two children as well as for me. She c
n't seem tofind any. Everyone tells her that they're shipping/auctioning, etc. to America where they're fetching $500 US and over. I don't believe that is right. Thanks for this great web page. You've all done an extroadinary job.
- I LIKE SETS SUCH AS HIPPITY, HOPPITY & FLOPPITY
- I think it's a shame that kids have to fight rich adults with more free time to be able to obtain beanie babies. When adults stand in front of a kid in a line to buy them and the kid says he only wants a certain one (a common one - unretired) and the adult then goes in and takes the last one of those, well, it says a lot about collectors.
- How can retailers charge so much extra for newly retireds? Where is Erin and Princess?
- How long is this CRAZE going to last. Will Ty ever shut down the business or will Ty start producing some other type of merchandise and stop making beanies? Who knows? I think that all currents and new releases should be sold at $10 or less. The price for beanies should never increase until there is a retirement. I think this would help all collectors of all kinds get their choice of beanies and will help the secondary market value after retirement. I rarely purchase or trade for older (retired)
eanies due to the high cost. If you don't purchase one at a reasonable price while their current then you've lost out once they retire unless you wish to pay high secondary market prices. I think the retailers should not hoard their shipments of beanies for secondary market people to buy. This is truly unfair to all collectors. Let the collectors make the secondary market a true secondary market through retailers being retailers and collectors being collectors. Isn't collecting what it's all about any
ay? This is my opinion. I would greatly like to see Ty make some revisions in the way retailers sell their beanies. I know it's hard to monitor every retailer, but it has to start somewhere. Thanks for listening to my opinions. Tracy
- I would like secondary market prices to come down so that I can finish my collection
- Coming from someone who works at a store where beanies are sold; I am FED UP with the constant phone calls from people looking for beanies. They call everyday, sometimes twice a day! They also stop in, not to shop, just to see if we have beanies. When we say no, they leave. Also, we are accused of hiding them in the back, keeping them for ourselves and many other unmentionable things. More women are even asking to go to our bathroom (far in the back room) to see if we have beanies "hidden". We get so
any sob stories it's not even funny. I think they are trying a different angle to see if we will say we have beanies. I wish TY would retire about 30 beanies. It's hard trying to keep up with them all!
- I hate agressive beanie shoppers. I also hate the "Authorized TY dealers that sell beanies out the back door to the secondary markets.
- I hate agressive beanie shoppers. I also hate the "Authorized TY dealers that sell beanies out the back door to the secondary markets.
- I LOVE BEANIES, BUT I SOMETIMES WISH TY WOULD RETIRE MORE AND MAKE MORE TO GET COLLECTORS EXCITED AND KEEP THEM GOING!!
- Well what i have to say is this I think beanie prices are getting to high!!i am only 12 and it is very hard for me to get beanies. It seems like this craze is only for adults now! I hate it!
- they are alot of fun.
- I would love to see a Boston Terrier. Thank you
- keep hunting this will keep the market going!!!
- I do not like seeing the retailers keeping and selling their more hard-to-find beanies to themselves, or to profit from them. They should sell them all to the public, or make drawings for every one, and if they are interested, they can include their names and hope to get one, just like anyone else.
- I love Beanies, my 14 year old daughter and I have really gotten closer by shopping and collecting them. It has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful for it. I do not like having to pay $5 at some stores and $7 and up at others. Some of the prices on Beanies are way out of reach for alot of us. It is hard when your children love a particular one and you just can't afford to buy it or to buy 2 of them because you have 2 or more children. All in all it has truly been a wonderful experience !
!
- Even without the secondary market, I would enjoy collecting Beanie Babies just because they're cute. I've met a lot of nice people and made some new friends. I hope the BB phenomenon continues. : )
- collecting beanie babies is fun but it is more for adults now
- I do'nt like the high prices that some people charge for the beanie babies it is unfair to those that do'nt have a great deal of money.
- I think that this phenomenon has had to have caused divorces. My adrenaline rushes whenever I am hunting for them and I think I would mame and kill for them. This is a very scary thing.
- One thing I would like see change is when you by TY BB's from stores they shouldn't raise prices for special or rare BBs
- Collecting beanies has become a family affair. After driving my 3 daughters to and fro in search of beanies, I began falling in love with them myself. We have had so much fun on our beanie runs. Even my husband has become involeved in the hunt. Irregardless of the future worth of the beanies, I think the memories we have of collecting them will be irreplaceable.
- I think the interest level has decreased; Princess and Erin are too hard to find and Warner could be doing something about this and doesn't.
- I personally do not collect these things but I enjoy getting them for my girlfriend who enjoys them greatly, I dislike the outrageous pricing on some of the retired and non retired beanies, as far as the ideas on retirements I look for Peace and Pinky to be one of the next ones to retire
- keep it going
- It's sucha joy to collect these darling beanies with my 6 year old son! Even my firefighter husband loves them! We collect for fun not profit ~ this is a terrific survey:)
- Personally, I think this whole Crze about these Beanie Babies is rather stupid and people overreact about stuff like thsi too often...
- Retailers shouls limit the sale of BB, such as Erin and Princess to one per customer.
- Beanie Babies are fun and exciting to collect!!!!!!!!!!
- I find it very frustrating when new beanies are released and then you can't find them anywhere except through the secondary markets, where they are marked at outrageous prices.
- Hope it keeps going!
- They need to retire and make new ones more
- The current trend of adults storming a store where Beanie Babies are back in stock and grabbing the TOYS out of the reach of children is not acceptable to me. Also the "secondary market" vendors that are actually "retailers" selling new releases at a very inflated cost not at anywhere near the suggested price by the very company that makes and releases these TOYS for CHILDREN.
- retailers have forgotten that these toys were made for children and should be kept at a minimum in price for children to buy. It is one thing to make a profit, it's another to make a killing.
- I don't like dealers who charge $25.00 for new releases
- Even though Beanie collecting is expensive, it is a great hobby for the whole family and everyone should just have fun doing it!
- BEANIE BABIES ROCK THE WORLD BABY!!!
- I think the only problem we have, is that more adults are purchasing beanies to re sell that sometimes causes a problem, we were recently pushed and shoved by adults getting to beanies at a store, that they actually pushed my 10 year old down. that is ridiculous. Another wrong thing, is when retailers will sell only (1) per household, what if you have more than one child collecting?
- beanies make me and my children very happy!
- I love Beanies
- i hope erin retire, i paid a fortune for her
- I wish there were some really kind people out there who would sell their Beanies for prices that I could afford!
- I wish people would lower their prices ,I don't have $100.00!
- I think that anybody that is an adult with no kids that buys these expensive piece of shit toys has problems!!
- Retirement: Bones,Chocolate,Quackers,Zip,Chip,Rover,Squealer,Twigs,Inch,Inky,Pinchers,and Patti
- I do not like sports card dealers entering the market and cutting prices just to make $1 and not even covering the sales tax for the items.
- I love them!!!!
- I do not think that beanies are all that good. I also think that people make way too much of a big deal about nothing.
- I think there should be a goat beanie baby.
- It sometimes get real hard to find the new beanies when they first come out. I have a list of stores that I call daily and with a little persistence I find them and if I do not go get them when I find them they are gone quickly. There are too many people buying them to sell on the secondary market and that makes it real hard for the people that just want 1 for their collection.
- Love the hobby. They are really fun and cute
- I don't think retailers should be able to raise the price for any BB and they should recieve larger shipments
- i think in my area (fairfield county connecticut) it has gotten out of hand. you can not find any new ones and when you do you stand in line with your children who want to buy them and the older collertor has just bought the last one. my children are a little upset with the fact that you can not buy peace, prince di or erin at any store for the original price of 5.99.
- I think people charge way too much for beanies that should only be $5.
- I dislike retailers who use Beanie Babies as a way to exert power over consumers and adult collectors who are so consumed by their collection that they take the fun out of collecting for children.
- I hate retailers that are selling Princess Bear for $500 when other stores are selling them for $5. Isn't collecting them for kids? What kid can afford $500?
- Where in Pa. is best to get BB's?
- Hopefully there will be a beanie baby for every day of the year so everyone can celebrate their birthday with their own special beanie!!!
- Prncess, Erin, Curly will be retired.
- I have heard that Bones, Bongo, Crunch, Gracie, Squealer, Patti, Twigs, Valentino, and Waddles are next to retire. Some new ones are Ferdinand the bull, Loppity the bunny, Antlers the deer, Star or Stear the horse, Blue bell the blue cow, Cloudy the grey bear, Archie the Scorpion, Blondie the retriever, Bugs the anteater, Chuckles the hyena, Colors or Pretty the peacock, Cuddles the llama, Dirty the rat, Eggs the chicken, February the groundhog, Fluffy the poodle, Growl the wolf, Andy the ardvark
Dip the white cat with black paws, Feathers the ostrich, Golden the gopher, Muddy the tye-dyed frog, Pooch the dog, Timber the coyote, and Yanky the Pony. THESE ARE ONLY RUMORS THAT I HAVE HEARD!!!!!!!!
- The direct retailer saleing over $10.00 for any current beanie should be dropped by TY
- Beanie babies are so cool, even my mom likes them
- TY INC. SHOULD BE BOYCOTED !!! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEY WANT SALES BUT DONT WANT TO HANDLE COMPLAINTS . I WAS TRAVELING AND PURCHESED SOME 200 00 DOLLARS IN BEANIES UPON RETURNING HOME 1 BEANIE I NOTICED WAS USED , A VENDER PROBLEM TO BE SURE THOUGH ANOTHER HAD SOME STICHING COMING APART SO I CALLED TY INC THEY WERE NOT ONLY NOT ABLE BUT NOT WILLING TO HANDLE MY COMPLAINT . NOW IF IT WERE A FURNITURE MANUFACTURER PEOPLE WOULD LET THEM KNOW HOW UNACCEPTABLE THEIR SERVICE WAS BY
NOT PURCHASING THEIR PRODUCTS. IN CLOSING PUBLICALLY TRADED COMPANYS SHOULD BE HELD TO SLIGHTLY HIGHER STANDERDS IN THIS FORMER CUSTOMERS OPINION.
- antler the deer
- I don't like it when Ty advertises a new beanie available and then it is next to impossible to purchase. Case in point: Erin the bear.
- I think that all the BEANIES with misspelled "ORIGIINAL" tags could be a clue as to which ones will be retired in May. We have Squealer, Peace, Curly, Blackie, Valentino, Bunny Trio, which are rumored to be retired. Could this be true? We'll all find out in May!! Thanks!!
- I think that the beanie market is way out of control. The people that sell beanies for more then they are worth should be ashamed of themselfs. Im only 16 years old and cannot afford the way high prices for some of these beanies
- too much mony 30 or 40 $$ for something that cost up to 6 or 7 $$
- As long as TY continues to not flood the market, beanies will hold their value. The direct dealers who sell any beanie over 7.00 should lose their license.
- No way! It's da bomb! So are Beanies!
- I understand that the secondary market sell beanies for more than the alotted price, but the actual stores that get them directly from the ty company have no right to jack up prices. When new beanies come out and stores put an astronomical amount on them, only the peolpe with hords of money are able to by them.
- I dont like when the retailers keep beanis for themselves such as Princess and Erin, and sell them for higher dollars or save them all for themselves.
- TY never reply to letters i have written to them, they are too secretive, and there web site is awful !! with the money they are raking in , the could get a better designer !!!!!
- Blizzard is retiring in August.
- I HATE WHEN THEY SELL BEANIE FOR TOO MUCH
- I don't think that Beanie Babie should EVER be sold by large chain stores as looking for them in little hole in the wall stores is half the fun.
- more beanie names on #18.
- Beanie Babies ROCK! Go TY!
- I wish beanies were more accessible to children. Retailers have made it impossible for kids to get "special" ones.
- I think Beanie Babies are wonderful !!!
- Its like going on a treasure hunt when looking for beanies.
- I just get sick of going to shows and seeing the secondary retailers try and rip people off by saying they know tha this beanie is going to retire and are charging and arm and a leg for it. These are supposed to be toys and yet people will rip one out of a childs hand if it is worth some money.
- none
- The beanie phonomenon is agood book with great information.
- I hate that beanie babies at stores sell for so much. One store near me sells princess and erin for $100-$175
- I wish all retailers would limit the number of new beanies to one per customer so we don't all have to wait for the 2nd or 3rd shipment to be able to get any. People buying 6-12 of each the minute they hit the stores are probably reselling them. not fair!!
- You should sell your beanie babies for less than they already are so your business will sell bigger.
- i have friends in a store that sells beanies , so they're easy to get for me!
- How long will this craze last?
- please go to my webpage at http://members.aol.com/ILuvMiCat/beaniesrule.com
- I love BEANIE BABIES. I wish they wouldn't cost so much, and go retired.
- I think the beanie baby phenomenon is just fine. I just don't like the counterfeits. I don't want to waste all my money on a fake Bubbles.
- Would like to be able to purchase Princess and Erin for reasonable prices. I don't understand why it is so difficult to find the Erin bear. Why?
- I personally think that patti, gracie, and waddles will be the next to retire. I just wish beanies weren't so hard to find
- I wish they were easier to come by for those of us who just like to buy them because they're cute.
- I dislike certain merchants holding back the most recent release and then selling them for higher prices or only putting a small amount out at unknown to the customer times. I wish Brittania would be easily available in this country. I am a bear collector and unfortunately the bears are the hardest to obtain.
- I hope it goes on for a while because it is fun!!!!!!!
- TY KEEP MAKING THE CHILDREN OF ALL AGES HAPPY ! THANKS
- THE RETIRED AND SPECIAL ONES ARE JUST SO EXPENSIVE
- I love collecting beanie babies and I think they're a wonderful concept! I just wish people wouldn't take advantage of the craze and be more concerned about making money instead of just enjoying them!!!!
- very interesting site
- What did I get myself into? eek!
- I can't choose a favorite, i love 'em all!
- I'm so happy because I won Princess in a raffle!!!!!!!
- I think that when a Hallmark store gets a shipment in of 35 or more princesses that they should place them out for sell at a decent price like the other beanies. I don't think they should make the markup on them as out rageous as they are doing..........
- WoW
- I think its disgusting when you here that adults buy out stores and kids are not able to get beanies b/c of that. I think the kids should have the "right of way", and prices should be lowered back to five dollars so kids can buy them.
- It's addicting!!!
- drop the secondaries stores that are sellind ty beanies
- I think that good beanie ideas are a hummingbird, another donkey, and a starfish.bird
- I wish that they would make it easier to find out more information on how to spot frauds
- ty needs to redo there authorized dealers
- acollectable for children which adults have used to profit.
- acollectable for children which adults have used to profit.
- I think that the ty retailers should not sell currents for more than $12 a piece.
- People shouldn't spend so much money on a stuffed animal!
- I think that any retailer caught inflating prices should have their dealership licence pulled.
- i think quackers, spike, pouch, pinchers, gracie, waves, spunky, echo are going to retire next. At least i hope!!!! :) :) :) :)
- I think this trend will last for a couple more years and than people will
- I think this trend will last for a couple more years and than people will
- I think that the Beanie Phenomenon is a great way to help businesses grow and to help kids learn to invest thier money.
- wish i could find more of them!!!!
- My daughter won the set of 77 beanies from our local McDonald's last April! We therefore are usually watching for new Beanies but I won't pay more than $6.00!
- Keep it fun!
- I hope the market holds for at least 3-4 years
- I THINK THEY'RE WONDERFUL!
- I love Beanie Babies!!! everyne in my school collects them and im in the 6th grade!!!!
- My children would love to have Erin or Princess, but it looks highly unlikely they'll get one at the prices that are being asked for them. I think it is sad that a child can't afford to save their allowance to purchase the toy they'd like to have.
- This is my first hobbie and have gotten alot of my friends into it and we have alot of fun. Have a Very Beanie Day! Seressa >^..^<
- I think that the stores should be able to order and carry more beanies at once, instead of spacing out different orders.
- May 1st ALL the Beanies will retire (my prediction..)
- Be able to get them more often, without being on a list!!!!
- Be able to get them more often, wihtout being a list!!!!
- some of the prices are to high!!!!!!!!
- I really dislike when Ty retail stores let secondary market dealers know in advance about shipments and even save some of the harder to finds for them.
- I think BB's should be harder to find. If you can find them almost everywhere than it's no fun collecting!!
- I wish there was a limit on how much Princess should be
- For the last year I have been having alot of fun collecting beanies for my daughter and some of the bears for my mother and myself. However as the time goes on and it becomes increasingly harder to purchase any of the newer beanies at stores rather than the secondary market my enthusiasm is waning. I hope that the people who work for Ty can truly appreciate the frustration for most people who don't mind spending $6 many times over for these toys but who can not or will not pay $100s for just one. I
realize it is hard to control greed but eventually the fun will go out of collecting Beanies and people will turn to something or someone else. Thanks for listening. M.Miller - Poway, CA
- I dislike the high prices put on beanies that are not retired. I would like to see a control on the pricing of the non-retired beanies. If you do not have an inside person at a store, the ordinary collector will never have a chance to purchase them - Princess and Erin are great examples. I have seen them for sale for $500 and have been told other stores sold them for $5.00.
- Stores should receive more to keep up with demand
- I dislike how private persons are making a mint of hard to find beanies. Wish we could purchase retireds and hard ot find beanies at reasonable prices. Also dislike that TY has made so few of certain ones and then retires them way too soon!!!! Personally would rather spend the money to TY rather than a greedy individual!
- enjoy looking for them
- I AM DIEING FOR GARCIA! I NEED HIM! IF YOU HAVE HIM FOR SALE, E-MAIL ME AT: Angel44100@aol.com. THANX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Erin The bear should sell for less!!!
- I think that sooner or later people will get sick of Beanies and it will be back in a couple of years
- I enjoy collecting Beanies and have made most of my purchases from honest Ty dealers. I am very upset with I am very upset with Ty re selling
- As a UK collector I find it unfair that US customs are trying to prevent us dealing with the US -our UK customs are far too busy looking for drugs and weapons etc to be bothered with a few stuffed toys!
- I can't beleive this whole beanie craze. I have nver collected anything before & I now have almost 400 beanies since 9/97. I think it will continue for a long time as long as they keep on retiring some & introducing new ones. Every day I hear of someone else who started buying them & eventually wants them all.
- Auctions by authorized dealers; they have access so they keep how many they want and put a starting bid on what's left. Even the ones that are new releases are too high priced.
- On #11,I checked OTHER,that's because I LIKE ALL OF THEM!!!!
- I wish more stores sold Beanie Babies. All the stores here have the same limited selection.
- We don't think the "new" beanie baby list you think will come out is true. Espically Dip and Blue Bell.
- Why is Erin so much to start...terrible!
- I dislike the way that Ty has limited the Princess Bear and the Erin Bear. Not because I can't get one, because I have. It has caused problems for the retailers. What is fairest way to distribute these without affending your best customers. No matter
- would like to be ableto find some of the new ones for a more reasonable price/Erin/Princess?peace
- Trying to find most of the new beanies is difficult, but hopefully TY will be able to produce for the demand of the public pretty soon, or they will have some pretty disgusted collectors...$150 for an Erin...$175 - $500 for a Princess...they better hustle their butts!!!
- I love how much of a collectors item these cute critters have become. The search is truly part of the fun!
- I don't like not knowing when shipments come in retail stores!!
- I don't like the secondary market prices
- i think that the strores who buy the beanies for $2.50 should sell them for $4.00 or less
- I'm having a lot of fun however, I'm afraid that since I bough some for investment resale, the bottom will drop out and I will be stuck holding them. I hope this isn't true. I have quite a few duplicates and triplicates. The hardest part is knowing when to start selling them and which ones. I am anxiously awaiting news of what Ty plans on retiring next.
- The situation with the retailer has gotten totally out of hand. They are taking the fun out of collecting BB's. Even the new ones are going for at least double what they seemed to has started out at. Disney has the right idea when they keep much better control over their retailers. They are going to destroy the market. Also, it seems the retail stores seemed to be so flooded with all the current beanies that they are taking the fun out colleacting them. Half the fun is the challenge. It is fun
o see them increase in value but with as many of them as there are out there they won't be worth much of anything. People will lose interest!
- I think that current beanies like the new releases, Princess, Curly, Peace, Erin, and Valentino should be sold at current prices, the way they should be ($5-$7) It's not fair for the kids (like myself) to have to pay inflated prices for them. I wish people would sell them for less.
- SET A DATE AND KEEP IT THE SAME FOR NEW RELEASES AND RETIRED SO THAT THE COMPANY CAN KEEP UP AND SO CAN COLECTORS.
- The game that I play with Beanies is to find them at the normal price of $5-$6. I am looking for Peace but refuse to succumb to the high prices or combination purchases you must make to get him. I WILL find him someday before he retires and I WILL only pay five bucks.
- I like they should sell more of the bears and new beanies alot more and have them available most of the the time
- I dislike how adults have butted into beanie babies and bought them all so kids can't buy them....and they were made for the enjoyment of children...right? I also hate how because there is such a scramble for some of the beanie babies that the prices have gone so high that oly a fairly rich adult could have a chance to purchase them.....
- A peacock
- I think it would be better if TY did not release so many new ones at one time. They are too hard to get and the retailers are jacking up the prices as soon as they hit the stores. A release of 3 or 4 new ones every few months would be much better. Thank you for this opportunity to speak.
- I love Beanie Babies!
- I think they will make a new Dalmation every year till there is 101!
- some of the prices are outrageous
- I would like for beanies to be readily available. It is way to hard to purchase the beanies you are looking for and that is what is driving the prices so high. It is a nice hobbie but prices are out of control. I called a store that has Brittannia and they are asking $695.00 for her. Who can afford to buy that beanie for a private collection. I enjoy seaching out beanies but Ty has now made it to hard, to expensive and I am tired of the disappointments.
- It is very difficult to find Erin.
- I miss the list on the Ty page that I could run off. I also would like to see Ty do a list for the Attic Collection. I get the Beanie Babies for my kids, and the Attic Collection for me. To me the Attic Collection to me is far cuter than the Beanie Babies any day.
- I think only children should be able to perchase beanie babys.
- i FIND IT VERY DISTURBING THAT CERTAIN AREA RETAILERS ARE SELLING THEIR SHIPMENTS OF THE MORE DESIRABLE BEANIES AT PRICES WAY ABOVE RETAIL!
- i don't like vendors selling best ones to 2nd dealers
- I love Beanie Babies so much!! I don't plan on selling my Beanies, but I would like to take good care of them. A lot of people ask if I would sell my Garcias, Princess, or Erin, but I just can't give them up!! They are like my family!
- I love Beanie Babies!!!!!!
- No authorized Beanie Baby distrubutor who has an account with Ty is allowed to sell Beanies for more than $6 unless it is retired!
- I am quite angry that Ty makes it so hard on working moms to be able to find Beanie Babies by making their deliveries so rare . Another thing that really confuses me is that at our local flea market this week I saw dealers with bags upon bags of new releases! How can they have so many and sell them for well over market at regular stores when we can't find them at the regular stores?!!!
- I think they should make a tie-dy cat named Hip.
- retired beanies go for too much
- I do not like the retailers who force kids to buy 2 or more current beanies before they are allowed to buy a retired or new beanie. I think that these retailers should be punished for doing this as children is whom the beanies are made for and most of them do not have a great deal of money.
- Rude retailers
- RWMEADE@AOL.COM
- Retirement Predictions - Claude, Gobbles, Pouch, Hippity, Garcia, Curly, Spike, Chocolate, and Rainbow.
- I think it's terrible that stores who have princess sell it for $150 i
- The 2ndary market is hiking up prices far too high such as is the case with Princess and Erin. The shipments should be more regular so collectors can have an idea of which stores will be getting which quantities. Similarly, efforts should be made to ship "seasonal" Beanies on time. For example, Spooky was not sited in my area until far after Halloween as were the cases for Gobbles, Snowball, 1997 Teddy and Erin. Ty, in efforts to curb the voracious and hysterical rantings of many collectors, should
periodically release an "Official" list with estimated prices and, more importantly, statements that indicate if certain production mistakes are legitimate variants or if employee 314 simply put too much blue dye into the vat that day. They're so damn cute, it's awful that so many people are cutthroat about trading and collecting! Good hunting to all.
- I think that the Beanie Baby market will climb, and climb, and climb....Then it will fall like a five ton sack of bricks. (Then I can FIANLLY get the old, in demand and retired beanies that I love!) :o)
- dislike that the Princess Bear will retire before I EVER have a chance to get one. I can't afford $200. for one beanie.
- I would like it if so many people would stop buying and then selling BBs
- I think collecting beanies is fun for both me and my 3 children
- they need to get more tbb's!!!!
- I woould dearly love to own Princess and Erin, but everyone is selling them at such ahefty price, I am not able to get one. I also purchase them to put in Easter baxkets, and other special times of the year.
- I can't believe the extent that people will go to search for Beanies -- following the UPS truck, pushing & shoving to get Beanies!! It's really turned some people into NUTS!! I think Ty should flood the market with Princess & Erins (2 hard to finds right now) so that EVERYONE can get!! I have not gotten either & will not stoop to levels that some people are!! I'm much more intelligent than that!!
- I really like beanies. I have never and I hope I never am crazy enough to buy a beanie for more than $10 nor have I ever bought on the secondary market...only from authorized retailers. Is there a list out there of Authorized dealers? Also does anyone know how to become an authorized dealer? Thanks...
- Inform ALL HALLMARK DEALERS to consider placing one Beanie Baby of each in stock in glass case. I was a witness to a Beanie Baby theft at a Hallmark store which had them out in the open for the public.
- I think Ty should retire 30-40 beanies and only come ut with 2 new ones each month
- The internet is a great resource for keeping the craze going
- See my predictions at hhtp://expage.com/page/bonesid1
- Last Sunday, my daughter headed out @ 4am to be one of the first 100 people in line @ the opening of Noodle Kidnoodle in Northville, MI, only to be denied the right to purchase Princesss Di beanie for $5.99, she was #89 in line. Buy time the store opened @ 11am, their were over 400 people in line. The store decided to only honor vouchers they gave out the evening before. This totally went against their ad. My daughter was #89 in the store, and was denied her right to purchase the Princess for $5.99.
have filed an action with the Better Business Bureau, results pending. Their was also extensive media coverage on this event. The people with the vouchers, are the "dealers", selling these beanies @ uotrageous prices. We need to ban together, and refuse to pay these prices!
- I would like to see the remaining original 9 retired.
- I would like to see the remaining original 9 retired.
- The thrill of the hunt is whats so fun! I hope Ty keeps the Beanies a challenge!
- PEOPLE ARE GOING TO EXTREMITIES JUST TO GET THEM, IT'S CRAZY
- I want a new beanie's name to start with the letter K
- I love beanie babies, but I think all beanies no matter how much they are worth (If they are currents) should be sold for the retail price of $4.99.
- would like to see results
- I love to be in the big crowds of people fighting over the cute things. You should make a new beanie groundhog called Shadow.
- too greedy
- beanie babies kick ass
- relative to the secondary market and the princess di beanie ,what contributions are actually made to her fund?
- add to Ques 17. Should retailers set quanity purchase limits. (YES max 3 per day) This would cut down on 2ndry market & allow us lovers to get ours. I want a Princess & Erin and refuse to surcum to the outrageous 2ndry price. Sure it's great the BB are worth $$, but how many of us can really affordt hundreds & thousands of dollars. I collect them because I love the little guys. Although, have purchased Maple on 2ndry (was Xmas present) & now I am considering getting Coral??. Even retailers are gree
y with the BB's, they keep what they want. THIS HAS TO STOP. TY GET SMART and get a 1-800 for customers to call in. I was very upset with a retailer and after 3 hrs of calling, got through to TY, & then they told me to send a letter. If TY buckled down, I believe BB's would still remain big business,& still allow 'us' real people to get the beanie we love. So what if everyone who wants a Princess & Erin gets one, it is only a big $$$$ deal to the vultures who are trying to get as much $$$$ as possible.
I wish the real BB collectors would ban together & refuse to STOP PAYING THOSE OUTRAGEOUS prices. I really don't care if my beanie never become worth more than I paid, I still love them. HOW ABOUT A WEEK OF REFUSING TO PAY TOP DOLLAR??? Let retailers know YOU will report them to TY, maybe TY will get a heart & send out the beanie police. Something to think about. Thanks for your time. A true beanie baby lover, LMT.
- I want retires to be more valuable and rarer. Now retires are going for 10$ to 30$.
- I just wish you could walk into any beanie baby selling store and buy what you want without a million other people being there. I also wish that if stores receive twelve Erins, then they have to sell them all without keeping ten for themselves and only selling two.
- I like cheese
- I can't wait until the teenie beanies come to McDonalds again!
- add to Ques 17. Should retailers set quanity purchase limits. (YES max 3 per day) THis might cut down on 2ndry market & allow us lovers to get ours. I want a Princess & Erin and refuse to surcum to the outrages 2ndry price. Sure it's great the BB are worth $$, but how many of us can really affort thousands of dollars. I collect them because I love the little guys. Although, have purchased Maple on 2ndry (was Xmas present) & now I am considering getting Coral. Even retailers are greety with the BB's

g to think about. Thanks for your time. A true beanie baby lover.
- I absoutly love beanies;however, people need to remember that although rare and difficult it is to find a beanie, if all the second hand retailers buy them, nobody else may be able to afford them and share in on the experience!!!
- I don't know. I just LOVE ALL Beanie Babies!
- I think that it is very sad that retailers are putting aside the most desireable beanies (erin & princess) for family and close friends first or seliing them for an astronomical amount that the everyday person can't aford.
- I JUST GOT ERIN! I AM SO HAPPY! FOR ONLY$5!!!!
- the secondary market is well. i enjoy it.
- BB'S rock but i wish there were more of them
- The thing I don't like is that there are too few beanie babies and I think they need to create more. The new ones should'nt be rare ones because some people don't have a lot of money and I thought these were created for kids and I mean who knows a kid whose got a couple hundered dollars to use on beanies? That's my opinion. Sincerly, Alison M.
- I think that some people set prices way to high for a bean bag animal. I mean they're cute and all but they're just toys. I think some adults are raising the prices too high. I mean they were meant to be just five dollars. Cheap anough for children to buy them, not adults.
- I beleive that the Beanie Baby craze will eventually go the way of the Cabbage Patch dolls and Tickle Me Elmo... but hopefully not for a LONG time!
- The beanies were made for children, and now children can not readily obtain them because overzealous collectors are making them difficult to find and afford. Some of the adults are obessed with these TOYS and they should grow up!
- I dislike the people in stores who sell beanies for $20, They're only supposed to be sold for $5
- I feel that I have become obsessed with finding beanies at a fair price. I don't sell them ..I just want 1 of each..Is that too much to ask for? I will not pay over 25$ for any beanie
- I love to see families collecting together. It is always fun to talk to other collectors and ask how they got started. I find that Beanie collectors are very friendly and sharing people. I really do dislike the retailers who try to "rob" people on Beanies. I know of one who raises the price on all new Beanies from $6.95 to $10.00 and often makes people buy one older one for every new one purchased. Then, when other retailers get their orders in, this retailer lowers the price back to the $6.95 tha
should have been the fair price to begin with. I also think it would be more fair if retailers would place a limit of 1 or 2 on each new Beanie so everyone would have a chance . The retailer has to know that when one person comes in and wants to buy all 36 of one Beanie - that person will likely resell them on the secondary market. These Beanies were originally made for children. Greedy adults are making it impossible for most children to own Erin, Princess and Peace. I think that is very sad!!!!
- I strongly feel that Blackie and Princess are going to retire or Princess will be like Derby where they make a new version of the Beanie Baby. I sometimes think that secondary merchants are to greedy but me personally , I sell at the price that there worth and don't rip people off. But I don't think it it fair for a store to sell beanie babies at $50 because they have the chance and oppurtunity to buy the Beanie Babies at $2.50. We don't we have to buy them through stores and then I sell them so som
times I don't really make that much money.
- I think Beanies are becoming WAY overpriced and I have just recieved a fake BALDY the Eagle. The inside of the tag is an off-whitish yellowy color. And the tushy tag is in black printing. IThe man in the store where I ordered it from had a case on the tag, so I couldn't look at it if I didn't buy it. CLearly (after four hours of inspection with three other friends, I think it is a counterfiet or a factory reject. From, Rebecca.
- If Ty was serious about raising money for the Princess Di foundation it would make more available instead of backordering constantly. Such a practice is only making the secondary marketers rich. What about the children who really enjoy the toys but are unable to afford the rediculous prices. Afterall these are bean bags , not bags of gold. Ty should be ashamed of thier marketing policy on this bear.
- I hate the fact that kids can't have retired and hard to find beanies they don't have, because they can't afford them! Kids should get them for $5, retired of not.
- these toys are great for kids, or even adults. The secondary market has ruined the whole thing for the kids.
- I would love to see new Ocean-theme beanies since they've disc all the fish!
- I think that they are way too hard to find and should be easier to find at a reasonalbe price.
- Loath the retailers who grab all of the new releases and sell them on the secondary market and Ty doesn't seem to care
- Ty should be more open to consumer ideas and comments
- I would like to see another Peanut. A pink (girl) peanut.
- Beanie Babies are the most hair raising , enjoyable & rewarding, collection, I have ever had.
- I really dislike retailers who charge $25 for new current beanies. I don't think that it's right.
- I don't like the high resale of Princess who is supposedly for charity. People have become way too greedy with her. TY created her for the memory of Princess Diana and this isn't a way to pay tribute.
- Although my children and I find Beanies to be very cute, I think Ty Inc. is purposely keeping the market so tight so that it can make a killing on these things. I like the fair market price of a new beanie, (around $5.00), but am constantly annoyed when retailers look at me and say, "I don't know when they'll be in." I don't collect for resale, I just like to get the ones that my kids think are cute. If they happen to be ones that are retired, that's nice, but not important. Once they have them, th
y love them so much they wouldn't want to sell them anyway! Also, I dread the upcoming release of 2nd generation teenies, because it caused pandemonium in my small town the last time McDonald's did it! Thank you so much for letting me voice my opinion. I hope the people at Ty Inc. will actually get to hear from 'regular' collectors like myself.
- I would like to know how to get in touch with TY to give them a new Idea for a beanie. Also I would like to know where people get 12 Erins and 12 Princes at a time to sell over the internet. I found a store that had a Princes, which they said they only had one, and ty says they issue more than one, anyway this store you could only by a ticket on Princes if you bought $25 of there stuff, this seems unfair. Also what some people are asking for Erin and Princes. Does anyone remember the old say of how
many hours you must work to buy something. Some of the prices there asking would take me two days pay just to buy them.
- i hate that the ty company wants to sell princes for $7 so that everyone can have her, and so that money can be raised for charity, and greedy people have snatched her up and are selling her for money that is a) too much, and b) the charity will never see. cut the greed, at least on proncess...
- The most upsetting thing I hav come across is when a Ty authorized dealer gets in a current beanie and has the price marked up so high! I feel the secondary market is going to hurt the continuation of people enjoying collecting beanies or at lest trying to pick up the older ones.
- Really hate to see common beanies selling for $15-$20 on the secondary market.Greedy merchants will ruin the hobby.
- I have a feeling that the beanie collecting will soon come to an end. Many people are dying down on the collecting...I'm just starting.
- No one knows exactly which Beanies will retire, but I have a feeling that the May 1 retirement will be big! I'm racing around trying to get four current Beanies that aren't in my collection that are very likely to retire. I think that Ty will continue to retire the 'ip' cats to make way for, perhaps, more like Pounce and Prance that don't rhyme -although I do love my rhyming cats!- And this retirement, some of the dogs are definetly going to go.... maybe Bones, Rover, and Scottie. We'll probably lo
se some bears too. In my personal opinion, Curly will be the next one to go, but no one can be sure of that.
- Produce more Bears, they are way too hard for workjng Mom's to find. We can
- I'm basically type who will buy them if I happen to come across them. I don't harass retailers as to when the next shipment comes in. My children and I enjoy collecting Beanie Babies for fun and eventually I will sell individual ones I have if the price is reasonable.
- I think that the May '98 batch of retirements will include chocolate, blizzard, the bunny trio, princess, pinky, blackie, and crunch.
- I feel it's terrible that new BB's like ERin & Princess are impossible to get, before they were even released! If you're unlucky @ lotteries & aren't rich you don't stand a chance!!! Also, I think the uglier, the higher the value, eventually!
- It is very difficult to get new BB. when they come out if you work. Many places hold the new ones for certain customers or only put out a few of the new ones and if your not there early you never get ot see them much less buy one.
- The fun is been able to buy one and here they are so hard to find . This up sets me.
- I hope this trend never ends!!!!!!
- I think the Beanie Baby phenomenon is astounding and exciting! I like all the myriad different types of Beanie Babies. I dislike the Brittania not being sold in the US. I think the trend will be: the Beanie Babies types will get groovier and groovier! And the Beanie Baby Bears will be the greatest Beanie Babies, since they are the cutest by far! I think Chocolate the Moose will be retired, as well as the older Beanies and the uglier Beanies. Maybe Rover, the Red Dog will go, Maybe Stretch, maybe
Princess since she seems like a limited edition, or ??? who knows??!!!
- Retailers could place limits on purchases, so the secondary people would have a harder time buying up all the hard to find currents, making them next to impossible to find except at an inflated price.
- I hope they don't retire Erin for a long time.
- it is very frustrating when the authorized dealers sell their retireds and hard to finds right out the back door without customers even getting a chance. I have purchased beanies on the secondary market but think we should at least stand a chance at purchasing them for $5 from retailers.
- Ty is either switching to PE Pellets or will be using them along with PVC pellets, which makes all of this ballyhoo about a first or second version of Princess exactly that -- ballyhoo!
- I would like to be able to get new ones
- Finding and Collecting Beanie Babies is such a fun thing to do, I enjoy searching for that "special" beanie and there is something quite amazing about the feeling I get when I finally find that "special' beanie. I believe that Ty has extremely unique marketing ideas and I hope things stay the way they are!! The harder it is to find a beanie is what keeps this incredible phenomenon going!! Whatever Ty is doing to keep this craze alive is very obviously working. Keep those surprises coming!! My w
ole family is involved with Beanies and it's a nice way to keep a family together! I never thought my husband and I would know the name of each Beanie!!!! Thanks so much, Mr Warner, for providing us with so much fun.
- I love beanies. I wish I could get a hold of Princess or Erin. I hope to acquire some older retireds sometime. Someday I wish to own every beanie.
- prices down for retired and children who want and can not afford tobuy princes di the money got charater my daoutger has one year twins that would to have one ibetlady di wouldratherthepoor children have them who wouldlove ad play with thehandneverfor get her thie waythey will forget are cry many nites because hesschoolmateshave and hehas noe to poor
- Beanies are great foe kids. They can afford it off of thier allowance. Also the prospect of being able to sell it years from now teaches them to respect the toy. I'm truly annoyed over TY only sending out a dozen of the latest teddies to each store. Most of which many retailers kept in the back room till the prices jumped. Then they sold them . The only reason the prices went up is the availabilty was zip. I also am appaled at retailers who mark up the new issues to $10 and $15.
- I think that the secondaries markets shouldn't be able to sell at the inflated prices that they do that they should only be sold in authorized stores that way it would kept the cost down so that everyone can enjoy them without paying an arm and a leg for them.
- stop charging so much for some of them.
- Next RETIERMENT May 1 1998
- ty needs a beanie bride and groom
- I love getiing any inside info on which ones are likely to retire.
- Collecting beanies is a fun and exciting hobby for me. I have met alot of other nice beanie collectors. I don't like store owners that hold certain beanies to sell for alot of $$ I'm getting sick of all the raffles for the new bears that come out! Why don't they make enough of them? I thought the idea was, an inexpensive stuffed animal that all children can afford?! Most places, unless you are constantly hunting, you can't find Erin for less than $150 and she's not even retired! thanks for listening!
- I am a kid and I love beanies. I have been collecting for 2 1/2 years now, and am a proud owner of many retireds including all black Zip, brown belly Sly, Garcia, and Seamore. While Diana was alive, I admired her for her unselfish acts of kindness. She was my hero. The night she died, I was pouring tears. Later, I heard about the release of Princess and it made me happy to know this gorgeous bear would always help the world remember Diana and Princess would also help Di's charities. I was determined t
get her, but lost all hope when I saw her being sold for one to four hundred dollars. Like I said, I am just a kid and cannot afford these kind of prices. Finally, one of the best things that ever happened to me happened. I finally found a store with Princess ( and also Erin) For TWENTY DOLLARS EACH!!!! Right now I have one on hold and am in the one of the happiest times in my life. But still, it makes me very sad to hear the secondary prices on Princess. It's like these greedy adults are taking advange
f our Queen of Hearts and making money off her. Thank you so much for listening.P.S. If you live in the DFW area, E-Mail me at mmillard@mci2000.com and I may be able to sell a Princess to you for 25 dollars. I am doing this so we can all remember Diana. Thank you again.
- I can't believe I am into this whole thing....but it is fun and a bit of a challenge...like buying a penny stock and trying to make something on it...
- I s there a BBA somewhere?
- Everything is going great but that truth of the matter is one day this whole thing will burn out. Although everyone says it will never, i love beanies as much as the next crazy person but i know this will die out eventually. and it is already begun. Too many beanies are in production. SUPPLY+DEMAND ty get it through your head. take em off the market for a bit and kaboom beanies never die out... -peace to all!
- THE APRIL FOOLS JOKE WAS TACKY BY TY!!!!
- dislike dealers increasing the price of hard to find, retired beanies
- I think its to bad that so many people out there are trying to get so much money for there BB's. all the second hand people go and buy all of them up at $5 then turn around and sell them for $50. I think they are cute and fun to get but I will never spend more than retail for mine.
- I dislike the fact that you can't get Princess or Erin without paying a ransom for them!!
- I think the phenomenon is not going to last much longer. It is crazy to pay in excess of $100 for a toy that cost the original owner $5. I think it is cabbage patch kids all over again, and in 10 years, someone will be selling them at a toy show for $2 each.
- I think patti, happy, chocolate will retire next
- Love the babies - but feel it's unfair for Erin & Princess to be so difficult to get - and so expensive! (Bought them, anyway!)
- Many of the Beanie Babies that I buy are for my 7 year old daughter. It make me very angry when she saves her money to buy a BB, and the the store won't sell to her because she is not an adult. I will not go back to the dealers! I think greed has taken these toys away from the persons that they were produced for.
- I wish it would go back to a kid toy instead of an adult attraction. I hate the people that are in this just to make tons of money, because that cheats all the kids from getting beanies.
- dislike:outrageous prices on both the internet and shop at home show, yet i am aware that this does keep the craze alive and well.
- I just wish there were more stores I could buy Beanies from. I live in College Station and there isn't much here in the way of Beanies.
- I buy beanies for my daughter all the time! I think Princess and Erin should become more availible and more reasonably priced. My daughter has 56 and wants Princess and Erin VERY BADLY!!!
- Where would we be without a craze like this? I love every minute of seeking and my "beanie runs."
- It's a shame that we can't get Erin & the Princess for a reasonable price and also be able to find them. It think ty should open up the market more. These cost too much on the open market.
- I LOVE TY BEANIE BABIES!!!!!
- I think there should be a ferret beanie because my ferret is so cute!!!
- I LOVE TY BEANIE BABIES!!!!!
- I think it's crazy how one day they can be worth $5, and literally the next be $50. I would just like the set for my little brother and specific ones of personal meaning for myself.
- The trend will go on FOREVER!!!!!
- I think adults have robbed children of the joy of collecting beanies. Kids can't afford them anymore because of greedy selfish adults.
- I feel that the authorized TY retailers should not hold back stock on Peace Bear and Princess Bear and sell them for $50 to $250 dollars. They should have a drawings for these bears and let the winners purchase them for no more than $20.00. Beanie babies are for the childern and they should not take advantage of their status as an authorized retailer by setting there own outrageous prices. I now refuse to purchase a current beanie if the price is over $5.75. I have paid more for a retired beanie, b
t since the beanie is retired it makes more sense. I have seen current beanies selling for $12.95 each!
- make all available like princess;erin ect,
- I dislike those retailers who require you to spend so many dollars on things other than beanies in order to purchase a retired or hard-to-get beanie. For example, the Hallmark stores in OKC require you to spend $20.00 on other products before you can purchase one of these. The dollars spent on other beanies that are not considered hard to get or retired does not count towards the $20 -- I believe this probably violates some type of free trade law.
- I think al kids should be able to get Beanies like Princess and Erin at a reasonalbe price. I can't afford the high prices and the stores here are selling them for $150. The stores that sell them for $5 either never get them in or sell them to friends. I love Beaniie Babies but sometimes, it gets discouraging.
- I love all the beanies, but I wish the secondary market prices weren't so high!
- i love them!!!!!!11
- please retire 20 beanies soon! No one should be able to purchase more than one of each beanie type per day!
- i hope the price on the secondary market goes down
- I also Love attics and plush from ty
- I began collecting beanies before they became poular. I wish they weren't so popular, so they would be easier to get. I'm not interested in the value.
- I don't like how some Beanie's - such as Erin are so expensive. I've heard that the going rate is $300!!!
- Current beanies should be readily available
- I dislike retailers who hike the price on certain beanie babies. I refuse to do business with any retailer that require you to purchase a dollar amount of merchandise (not including Ty products) from their store for a chance to purchase a Princess or an Erin bear. There are even retailers who will give you a free beanie baby if you purchase $50 dollars worth of merchandise (not Ty merchandise). This is unethical for retailers.
- I liked the survey . I wish I could only get a hold of some beanies. They're just too hard to find :)
- I don't think it will last.
- Beanies are fun. I play with them lots - we have birthday parties, weddings, balls, school, and other things. I even know about their personalities!
- beanies have brought me closer to a lot of people. They have brought much fun into my life,i feel like a kid again. Thanks Ty !!!
- I'm 13 and I think that Beanie Babies are the coolest things since bellbottoms !
- I Dislike the small amount of the bears around
- I love my beanies Ijust wish they weren't so hard to get also I think it's terrible that the secondary market has appeared in normal retail stores where beanies should sell for five or six dollars. Ty warner should worry that this will discourage people from buying them .
- I think that Beanies will live forever!!!!
- This is so fun...and Beanie people are generally very nice people to meet.
- I'm very new to this beanie phenomenon and am trying to understand it. I have one very old beanie baby, that's it. After doing some research on the internet and speaking with a local dealer, I'm wondering if "secondary market" is a misnomer. Is it legal/
- I have my doubts on how long the collecting phenomenon will last - so many people are buying them now as investments that (at least in my area) they are hard to find in stores at all.
- Beanie hats and more Princess because I need one
- I think they should lower the price on retireds. so more people can afford the retired ones.
- I think that there should make beanie hats and
- I can't help but wonder when this craze will crash.
- I've noticed that weenie now has two different color types. Nor Ty or books have mentioned this yet. Do u know anything about it? (found this out at Hallmark and I couldnt see anything that made it look fake)
- Erin and Princess be more available
- There will be more new beanies coming annd one is Peach the Bear.
- I hope they make a bunch more!
- some dealers are selling them for too much money and the bears aren't even that cute. it had better be a good investment. by the way, i got princess and erin the bear for only $5.99 at a store in san francisco, and they don't even care if they can sell them for $300, they just wants to sell them for the normal price because she doesn't want to take advantage of people, like other dealers do!---i really did get them for $5.99 each, honest, i'm not lying.
- There will be more new beanies coming annd one is Peach the Bear.
- We need more bird Beanies!! Also Beanies like Erin and Princess need to be more affordable and obtainable!
- Erin and Princess be more available
- would like to see a mothers day bear (pink w/red heart!! or flower!!)
- I heard from a beanie saler Valentino the bear will be retiring by the end of this year. Some think that ia an early retiermint.
- Do not patronise retailers who hold back/ overcharge or create an artificial market. I feel that all Beanie buyers should take this approach, maybe then retailers would see the light.
- I think the next retired beanies will be the 12 being offered in the may McDonalds teeny beanie promotion.
- Ty Warner is BRILLIANT
- I wish they were sent to more stores and more in small cities it takes sevral months to even see the new ones around here!
- For those of us who collect beanies as a hobby, those of us who only want one of each to complete the collection, this whole deal is completely unfair. It is impossible to find beanies such as Princess or Erin for less than $150
- No one should sell them for over 5$ including dealers.
- My parents get me everyone I want when I want it. I think the Ty Company should have a direct order-line, ao ship them to my house. I'm angry right now because I havent gotton a new beanie in 5 hours. I always get at least 100 beanie a week, and it is almost saturday and I've only gotton 99.
- I love the fact that I can now find them almost anywhere, even in my small town!
- I wish I had all of the beanie babies.
- please make "weenie " black&tan
- Advance notice on retirments
- If Beanie Babies are a FAD, then this is the longest and best fad ever.
- I can't believe the growth in a few short years!!! I've never seen anything increase in demand daily like Beanie Babies!
- I think this is a fun hobby to do but I agree that the secondary market is what makes it hard for private collectors yet on the same hand this is what makes the Beanie Babies valuable. So it's a mixed blessing! What can I say?!
- I think beanies are here to stay, there will always be collecters out there.
- I mostly dislike the way Ty is handling getting their products out! Don't retired anymore if you can't fill the orders for ones people are still trying to find!
- Beanies are fantastic! I believe they are not a fad, and will live on for at least 5 more years, if not forever.
- I wish beanies were all the same price because they are fun to collect but not to pay thousands for. I would love to have Garcia and all the other expensive ones.
- I don't like it when retailers set limits ie purchase $ amount then you can purchase beanie baby for an additional amount, and then it is limited to only ONE! We may like to purchase several and this should be OUR choice not the retailers!
- I think that greedy retailers are going to be the biggest factor in bringing an end to the beanie phenomenon. I really dislike having a millions drawings for Erin and Princess. I would like more colored bears (ie Red, Blue, Yellow), more reptiles, more fish. I think it would be awesome if TY would do a TBB on all of the beanies current and retired (or just retired). I hope that they produce a special beanie for BBOC members.
- I think there is an obsession with the BB and it's sometimes scary to see people go to such lengths to get them.
- I just love beanies, I wished I've started sooner. Oh well. Thanks.
- I love them!!!
- We need to get Britannia over to the states.
- I'm 11 and stopped collecting BBs because most of them are too hard to get. I don't like seeing grownups fighting for them ther're getting too expensive to buy with my allowance. My mom wants me to give them to the kids at the hospital. I think it's a good idea too.
- I would like to see the retailers have MORE controls put on them for their pricing. I have run into many with new ones starting at $20 right away. WHY IS ERIN GOING FOR ALMOST $200 to start???
- I really dispise the "secondary market". I enjoy Beanie collecting for my future grandchildren, and my goal is to have as complete of a collection as possible for them - unfortunately, and because of the secondary market, many of the retired beanies, and even some of the current and newer ones, are simply "out of my league", and this is really sad. I feel that it is pathetic that something which is intended for children is now so totally out of their reach out of nothing more than the greed of adults
- I enjoy collecting the beanies with my mom, aunt, and cousin. It gives us something fun to do together, we have become closer during the time we have spent searching for the best deal.
- I feel Ty needs to be more upfront with the purchasers as well as the retailers. Why are they allowing the retailers to order Beanies that have already retired again on there March orders?
- Michigan is full of us crazy collectors. It is very competative and people can be mean when they are determined to get the beanie they want. I am collecting them with my five year old daughter. And someday she can do whatever she wants with them. She understands the importance of taking good care of them and leaving the tags in place. She gets as excited as I do when we locate a beanie we do not have. She loves all the cats!
- It's great fun the search is half the fun. Also the anticapation of what will retire next and then what the new ones will be makes the collecting neverending.
- N/A
- The adults have gotten out of control. It's obsurd.
- I don't like the Hallmark Stores in my area (3 owned by one person) that proclaim they have never had the 1st Princess or Erin, when in fact, they are selling them out the back door, while others are so limited to their supply. I also wish the Canadian Beanies would stay home!
- FIRST I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT YESTERDAY WAS IN VERY POOR TASTE ON TY'S PART.THEN I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT BB WERE STARTED FOR CHILDREN,I MYSELF BOUGHT FOR GRAND KIDS THEN THE ADULTS HAVE TAKEN OVER,THEYFORE THE STREET PEOPLE ARE THE ONES LITERALLY GETTING RICH,I BELIEVE THIS IS TYS FAULT,THEY SHOULD MEANT THE SUPPL AND DEMAND AND CUT OUT SCRALPERS.THANK YOU
- unbeleivable what has happened with them. i wish that the new ones like brit and erin werent so hare to get i think ty should allow more than 12 per store of these
- I just want to collect all the currents , I love them!
- I like the suspense of retirements; I would like the general consumer to be able to find out how many of each product are being produced.
- Benie Babies were more fun to collect in early 1997. Standing in Beanie lines with other collectors and swapping stories etc. Now there are almost as many dealers as there are collectors- that takes the fun out of it. There are to many people trying to make a profit instead of just enjoying them. I began managing a Hallmark store about 2 months ago, so my beanie hunting days are over, but I enjoy helping other collectors and children obtain the ones they want. I'm not sure why, but you definitely
an't buy just one!
- i think the availability of the new bears is so bad because
- In Hawaii, there are not many retail stores that carry beanies. When the stores get the in the secondary dealer buys them by the CASESLOADS with total disregard for the people who just want ONE. And most of the retail stores here have high prices because with minimal competition there really isn't anywhere else to go. I know of a POLICE OFFICER who bought one Erin from a fair retail store, but because their limit was one per person, he stood outside and paid passing kids $5 to buy him another!! Bea
ies are cute and a wonderful imagination tool for kids, wish someone would remind sellers that there are more important things than the "almighty dollar".
- I'm having FUN AND helping the family budget!
- Find me Libearty for a reasonable price.
- I think that authorized dealers that sell beanies for over ten dollars should be dropped. and I also think that ty should be ready when new beanies come out and have enough so that people arent afraid they wont get one. I know people that pay very high prices for beanies that should be buying food with that money.
- we enjoy these little animals...theyre fun to collect and actually have a value and market for them (not like MY sports cards......lol) My favorite ones are actually the tiedyed beanies.
- The articles I have read about "fake" beanies really scare me as a new collector. I do not have the experience to protect myself, and may have to refrain from any really major purchases (over $100) due to fear of fraud.
- That liecensed Ty retailers opt to sell Beanies such as Princess and Erin over the internet for more $$$ rather than keep them in their own stores to be open for the general public. I believe this is some kind of discrimination against people that don't have or don't have access to a computer.
- I hear, second hand, that Hallmark dealers are selling them out the back door. This is wrong. It makes the cost go up and the children can never get them. It forces you to nearly fight to get the new ones and I feel they should be available to any child with $6. After all they are a contrived collectiable. What will their long time value be? My daughter just wants to play with them. Collecting in American and maybe everywhere is out of control. How much stuuf does any one person need any way?
- I don't mind Beanies being traded or sold on the secondary market, but really don't appreciate authorized Ty resellers who sell Princess and Erin in silent auctions or for elevated prices -- they only paid $2.50! I've had resellers tease me (pretending to have Princess or Erin or mocking me for asking) and heard other resellers insult Beanie collectors in general. If they don't like to deal with collectors then they don't have to continue selling Beanies.
- I think it's a bad thing when people go into a store and buy up everything. I have two babies that like to get some beanies too!
- As a working mom, it is REALLY hard to get the newer releases. Can't wait in the lines and take time off work. The stores sell out of them by the time I get off work. Can't something be done for those of us who must work outside the home?
- I know I'm hooked because I actually defend their honer when people make comments about how crazy the idea is!
- I love seeing the excitement on my 7 year old son's face when he can find a new shipment of BBs...but it's becoming so much more difficult to purchase them....I speculate that TY's shipments are slowing down and they are sending fewer of the newer BBs. We haven't found a new BB in 6 weeks. It's very discouraging for a child...and I wish TY would get back the the basics....letting the BBs get back into the hands of the children!
- How is it that when we go to a beanie show the sellers there have dozens of Princess' and Erins selling for over $200? I do not mind the raffles in stores for Princess as the money is going to charity. I am sure that the money being charged by these other people at the beanie shows does not go to charity, but only into their pockets. My prediction on retirements are Crunch, Maple. Pinky, Zip, Squealer, Chocolate, Pouch, Valentino, Claude and Rover. Thanks!!!!
- I love Beanie Babies!!
- The secondary market is beginning to upset me, because I am not able to purchase just 1 per style of Princess or Erin for my own collection. I wish peole did not have to be so greedy - it's unfortunate that BBs are becoming unaffordable for the average person. Thank you for listening!
- Ty Warner for President & Princess = 1st lady
- I think people should stop being so greedy before someone ends up getting hurt in the collecting process
- I am a red head with the nickname "Sarahbeara" and would love to see a Red Teddy Bear named "Sarahbeara" !! More/new butterflies would be great. I dislike finding out that " second marketers" are buying beanies by the caseloads from authorized dealers at $6. and selling them immediately in their "candy stores/ collectable stores" for 3 or 4 times the amount. They are only interested in a quick, high profit and are taking the fun out of collecting our beanie babies !!
- I herd that there is a new beanie called "Peaches" is this ture?
- Retailers taking advantage of us collectors of Beanies!
- I dont like people trying to make a killing on a beanie that isnt worth that much and they know it.
- I hate it when retailers jack-up the prices to $10.00 and up for current Beanies. These people are trying to get rich off the backs of little kids!!!!
- Since I am not able to purchase from TY I don't think it's right that retailers jack up the price or hold back selling Beanies to stir the public up to buy more
- It would be nice to be able to get the beanies I want. Erin and Princess are sought after and the prices are reidiculous for a childs toy. What are we teaching the children?
- Ty should monitor their retailers -- surprise visits by "shoppers" to see some of the rudeness and bad attitudes the retailer projects to its customers with the excuse that a customer was rude to them when purchasing and how much they hate selling bbs.
- Retailers are NASTY to Beanie Moms!!
- I think that Ty should make the bears more available!
- Beanie babies are great!!!!!!!
- What i dont like is that the retailers get to set their own price for some BB
- I dont like the Retailers that lie to some customers about shipments and save alot for there customers that spend alot there!!
- Ienjoy your information!
- retailers are the ones that are getting too greedy. they stockpile beanie product and sell it for outrageous prices. secondary market people at least are trying to keep the pricces within range
- My "biggest" complaint is unethical Ty dealers. I have 4 grand children that I purchase Beanies for. I have been told by secondary market vendors that most of the dealers in our City call them when they get in special issues, (Princess, Erin, Peace, etc.), and they purchase them "out the back door" at "jacked up" prices. I feel this is most unethical and unfair. I have been able to get my two oldest grand daughters complete sets of the currents and some retired at retail prices. But there is noway I ca
pay $100. to $150. for Princess and Erin and $50. for Peace for them (these are prices Ty dealers that do not sell "out the back door" are charging in their shops. I sincerely hope that Ty will "flood" the market with these three issues. Also, I feel that Ty should drop dealers charge unethical prices or sell out of the "back door" to secondary market vendors. It "hurts" grand Mothers when they simply can't afford to purchase their little grand daughters with their most "wished for" Beanies. Out of 19 Ty
ealers that I know of in our City, I know of ONE Ty dealer that is still ethical and fair. He sells what-ever issues he get at his retail price of $5.00 ea.
- What I don't like is the idea of having the children waiting, sometimes with very little hope, of getting some specific Beanies; if it is a product for adults to collect, should not be treated as a toy.
- I hate it when people take the beanies from their stores and sell them in fairs. We don't get a chance to buy them!
- I think it's wrong for retailers to mark up currents, especially"ERIN & "PRINCESS". This was absurd!
- I think people should not sell beanies on the secondy market more then $200.
- make less, means worth more
- make them harder to find and limit the numbers more
- more information on counterfeits
- i think that some of the retired ones should come out again like punchers and some other sea creatures
- Retailers are having too much delay in receiving their orders lately. It is beginning to discourage those who are trying to enjoy collecting as it isn't always convenient to go back and forth to faraway stores. I do love the beanies - fell in love with them when collecting for distant grandchildren and now have more than they do plus two large display cabinets! I would like to get info on what's going on easier and so pleased to have discovered this site - thank you for all info you can give us ! !
- I LOVE BEANIES! They are on of the greatest things to happen!
- I hope the trend continues for a long time!
- hope interest continues into the future
- I think that the method that Ty uses to distribute Beanies causes a false shortage. Since a retailer can only get such a small quantity they immediately requesta premium price (with a few exceptions) . It is very disheartening to someone who is collecting Beanies just because they like them or perhaps just a particular one. I also hope that Ty doesnot retire any particular Beanie until it has put into the market enough pieces of any one Beanie to allow the average collector the oppurtunity to purchase
a piece at a reasonable price. What happened to Ty Warner's wishes to produce a cute, plush animal at a price that ALL could afford, including young children who save to buy something special. I hope that someone who cares about this sees this, THANKS
- More bugs would be cute.
- in my town we have two places where we can buy beanies one is a hallmark that sells for the price that they are suppose to the other one is selling beanies at secondary market prices(mind you that she buys straight from ty!!!) i really think that is NOT RIGHT!!!!!
- Hi, im a young collector of beanies. And i love them so much. I have good ones like the 97 teddy garica curly peace erin and around 19 other retired. And l bever paid more then 6.99 and i have 105 of them. I think its unfair when they sell new releases and old ones for 80.00 and up. They say its becuase its on the secondary market. But the problem is its not even retired yet. And i made my way around it. So never buy a bad buy. You need to wait and search before you buy a 1,000 dollar beanie. Remember
ll it is ,is beans and thread. So may be if people read this they will relize. That if you pay alot of money for one beanie. The dealers well keep on riasing the price. But if you dont buy it and wait. The prices well graudely go down and you can get a good beanie for less then what these (out of there mind dealers) are selling them for! Thank you
- I HAVE LIBEARTY
- I love this beanie baby phenomenon! The thing I don't like is how much retailers put a price on new ones or hard to get currents. For example: after I had already gotten every one of the January releases 2 weeks later I see a beanie stand selling them for 50 dollers each!!!!!! Saying they just arrived! Then all the places that have Princess or Erin where people aren't running into the stores or standing in line are places that have them for about 100 to 150 and UP!!!!! I have even seen Princess (slthou
h it was fairly new then) for 400 dollars! I think that's outrageous! But what can I say? I love the little things, and I can't stop collecting them! I have 97, not counting duplicates, and my collection will keep on growing! The only 2 I need, not counting some retireds like Peking or Chilly are, Erin and Princess. E-mail me at NellieQTee@AOL.com if you have any beanie news or rumors! Also if you know of any places in Chula Vista, CA, or San Diego CA, or in that area please contact me and tell me the name
of that stroe! Thanks! =)
- Am unhapy many Hallmark shops in my area are selling at very high prices-such as 100.00 or more
- like all of it
- I hate the fact that so many currents and new beanies are inaccessible to most people because of greedy retailers and resellers, particulary the Princess and Erin phenomenon.
- More bugs would be cute.
- I'm fed up with the secondary market as well as unethical retailers. The store where I work at presells beanie babies for $5 and you can take your chances on the ones that are left for $5.75. VERY REASONABLE. I am looking for a Sparky for my own personal collection. A guy who deals in the secondary market found one for me but was very rude about the price, he wanted $200+ for something he only bought for $60. How much is that asking? Not a lot to give somebody who does it for the pure enjoyment.
Thank you!
- I strongly dislike people hording and selling these cute children's toys for such high prices. These people should get stuck with buying so many. I will wait patiently for the Princess to come around and those idiots that paid $200 will be sorry!!!!!
- I think that it is an outrage on how much they are charging for Princess and Erin
- ithink beanie babies are great.it is the best idea yet.
- Not enough space - secondary "grabbers" should be illegal and dealers catering to such should loose their right to sell Ty products. The "secondary" market is made up of mostly people who have purchased more than one beanie baby for personal collection or for another person, solely for the purpose of resale. If one million beanies of a kind are made, one million individuals should have the opportunity to obtain the beanie baby at the regular suggested retail price. I see "secondary" sellers beside t
e road with their goods spread on their cars with current priced beanies at well above the suggested price. If they had only bought the one beanie made for "them" there would be more available to greater numbers. These items were made for kids, I enjoy giving these to my neices and nephews and friends, as well as having one for myself. It is adults that have turned a very fun thing for all ages into a vicious snatch and grab or "pay the price if you want what I have and you don't. There should be bette
service from Ty to certified dealers. My personal favorite dealer waits three times as long and gets one third the quantity as some other dealers. The Princess concept is a wonderful idea, however if the project is to be as successful as it can be, more dealers should receive these beautiful beanies, more often and in large quantities. The same with Erin. Equal opportunity, larger supply to meet the demand. . .this is what I see. After all Ty W. didn't start this business to profit these snatchy, gra
by, vicious so called "dealers" on the secondary market. I support a legal and fair dealer in her business, she is not treated fairly by the Ty company. Yeah, I know all about supply and demand, as long as the demand is so large - why not turn those beanies out faster? Well, enough, Ty doesn't seem to acknowledge the dealer/consumer frustration, and caters to the secondary "robber". Thanks for the forum.
- I luv beanies they are da bomb!!!! Humphrey rocks! I luv Lefty, Righty,& Libearty! I have all three of them! Thanx!
- I enjoy the people I've met buying/trading/selling beanies. I organized a swap meet last fall that raised $700 for Toys for Tots and hope to do so again this year.
- People say that can't understand why a stuffed toy can become worth so much money? Well to put the same question into another context. How can a piece of canvas with paint and pencil on it become worth so much money? Art comes in many forms. Live with it.
- people feel this is a fad but that's what they said about barbie
- I think beanies will live forever :)
- i dislike that erin hasn't even been seen in stores, and people are already selling it for as much as 250!
- Some Ty authorized dealers sell the new beaniies including Erin and Princess for alot more than 6.00 . Is that fair to consumers who can't afford but likes to collect? Can't Ty do something about it?
- I do not like paying so high prices.
- I have a Congo with a Puffer hang tag.
- I predict these will retire in may : happy, chocolate, blizzard, peace, bongo, pinchers, peanut, pinky and freckles. Ty needs to come out with more bears! cute....
- Keep up the good work, but try to control the unfair retailers.
- I dislike the greed of the retailers especially towards Princess, Erin, Peace and other harder to find beanies. They are for CHILDREN not to make money, they are supposed to be cute and to be enjoyed, not sold for hundereds and thousands of dollars.
- REALLY DON'T LIKE THAT I KNOW DEALERS WHO HOLD OUT AND SELL TO SECONDARIES.
- I am particularly annoyed at gift shops and others which "pick off" the "just retireds" and immediately mark them up for their own profit. The shops are the only way we collectors have of (other than the secondary market) of acquiring BB's, and it seems unfair for them to place their own profit above kids' desires to have a particular BB that just retired. I understand if shops think, "well, if I sell Speedy at $5, some lady will just come buy them and sell them for $25. Why shouldn't I have that $
$." To me the answer seems: limit your sales, e.g., one per person of a "just retired". What makes this particularly galling is that Ty's recent "update"/list-clearing of its sellers eliminated many "good" sellers who were not trying to price gouge -- for example "Cow Pattie's Country Store", while retaining some gougers in my neighborhood. (Washington DC area) My own attempt at a rememdy is not to buy from these gougers, but SOMEBODY must be buying, because they're still in existence.
- I wish we had more update info on the Web.
- I wish we had more update info on the Web.
- ty warner should address the secondary market. It's totally out of control because of greedy adult speculators.
- I love all the bears and hope they make more kinds. I also love all the sea animals and cats, dogs, and farm animals and tie dyed ones. They should come with tag covers for free. Bye for now.
- I think It is not fair that only rich people are able to purchase a Princess Beanie that only took $5 to make. We should all be able to celebrate Diana's life.
- I wish TY would sell "Mail order" with limits so that serious collectors, not secondary marketers, could purchase them.
-
- I've been to shops where people from flea marts and auctions have at least 4 hand baskets overflowing with beanies, I think that is a disgrace.
-
- I don't think it is fair when retailers receive the most desired beanies (ie Princess/Erin) and either hold them back from sale, raffle them off only, or hold them for friends or "regular" customers, or let someone come in and buy the entire delivery because they don't want to be "bothered" with the beanie hunters. In my area, you have to know someone to be able to purchase the hard to get beanies, or not be a working person (as I am) and be on "duty" watching for the deliveries. There seems a need
o have a "fairer" method of distribution accomplished. Don't ask me what that could be! I think it's highway robbery however when you have to pay 200 each for Princess or Erin - and now that I've done that - a new controversy re. PVC or PE beads arises! Thanks for listening. By the way, I was introduced to beanies about a month ago - and I am definitely addicted to them - they are all adorable and therapeutic to look at and hold at the end of a work day. Thus, I don't have a favorite - I love them al
.
- i'd like more tie-dyed beanies
- I think Beanie Babies are coo, but I don't like when a beanie, who retired a long time ago, cost so,so,so much, it's ridiculous
- It's crazy. I feel like I'm going insane. It's a sickness!!!
- To many people are buying and selling by the dozen, no wonder I can't find the current beanies and the prices are higher. Stores should be fair on who they sell to and not to hoard them.
- I think this beanie craze has gotten wat out hand
- I do not understand why "bears" are more epensive then the others.
- I have just started selling Beanies on the secondary market, but I'm very offended by the comments I've read regarding secondary market dealers. I own a very nice convenience store/gas station, and wanted to purchase directly from TY, but found out they will no longer deal with my type of store. So, I took it upon myself to invest a couple hundred dollars in a few select Beanies. I did this NOT to make huge profits, but for 2 simple reasons. First, the supply in my area is depleted as soon as it ar
ives at the few stores who do have the "privelege" of buying from TY, so I felt I could offer a small selelction of Beanies to people who couldn't find them elsewhere. Second, I MIGHT make enough of a profit to purchase 2 or 3 retired Beanies from other secondary dealers. I do NOT price my Beanies so that kids can't afford them. I pay about $5 to $6 dollars for current Beanies, and sell them for $8. For those of you unfamiliar with retail, this is a very small profit margin. Also, I spend about 2 hour
every day looking for Beanies to purchase, mostly from the Internet. I will not sell retired Beanies or ones such as Erin or Princess, as I would have to may the same outrageous prices as everyone else. This is America, people, and one of the great things we have is freedom of choice. I choose to provide a product that people want, and the people who purchase this product CHOOSE to do so!
- I have so much fun collecting Ty Beanie Babies. I do think it is a shame the way people charge such outrageous prices for beanies that aren't special editions or are not retired. Thanks
- The new McDonalds Beanie Babies are: Doby, Bongo, Twigs, Inch, Pinchers, Happy, Mel, Scoop, Bones, Zip, Waddle, and Peanut. Of this I am sure - I have seen the McDonald's bags.
- As much as we love them, I hope that the prices get back to a place where CHILDREN can afford to buy them again!!!!!!
- I dislike retailers that hide beanies and sell them to their friends, or if you ask for one they say they don't have any, when you can see them wrapped up in plastic bags for their friends. I believe who ever comes through the door should have dibbs on the beanies, none of this calling and asking will you hold a so & so for me. That's not fair. I think the prices on Princess and Erin are ridculous (yes I did pay a high price for Princess and it still bothers me today that I did it. But I do enjoy th
"hunt" for them and the happiness my daughter and I feel when we find a beanie at good price.
- that retireds are so hard to find, worried may get a fraudulent one
- I Love Beanies!!!!!
- I love Beanies! I do think some people and stores are a little fanatical about them, which makes it hard for us fun collectors.
- I just hope this is for real and not a fad!
- This is fuc*y
- I don't think anyone could have just 1 Beanie Baby. Once you have one, you've gotta have more!
- would like ty to be fair and state approx how many made of each and not to remake in any way once retired. Would like to have them make Collie Dog
- They're cute - a toy for kids - it upsets my child when she can't have one she really wants because adults have bought them all up to sell as mint, never touched, never loved. She sleeps with hers.
- The circulation of Beanies are not fairly distribuated. Do not think the raffles for local charities at particapating retailers is the way we the customer should vie for a Popular Beanie. Maybe raising the price and 1st come first serve way of selling t
- I am an authorized Ty retailer and I find that customers are quite angry with "retailers" in general due to the high priced markups by secondary marketers. They are disgruntled and feel that Ty is not accurately monitoring it's distributions to retailers. This statement offends us as an authorized retailer as we have waited at times weeks and months for our orders to filled from TY and find that the general publics impression is incredibly negative and detrimental to the light hearted and good nature
that TY's plush, collectibles, pillow pals and BEANIES were intended to be. I am frustrated because we are straiight forward and direct with our customers and there is a constant battle with them regarding this negative perspection. I know that we are just one store in hundreds; however, I speak for the above board retailers who are frustrated with such negative PR for an item that has been positive up til August 1996! Thank you for reviewing my commentary!
- There are some pretty nasty, greedy people out there! Thank goodness for the few honest ones....
- Gray Whale
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!
- I enjoy a portion of the collecting experience, meeting people with the same interest.
- Beanies are the cutest little animals. The adults who collect are so greedy that our children are shouted at when buying beanies by adults waiting in line to buy beanies. Those type of people should be ashamed of themselves!
- Beanies are so much fun for the whole family
- BEANIE BABIES RULE!!!!!!
- I love the excitement of who will retire and what new BB will be coming out. I totally dislike some of the secondary markets because they are too greedy and have totally forgotten that BBs were originally for children to collect with (preferably) their own money from allowance and gift money. Now my son can't even dream of getting a retired BB as they are so way out of most people's price range. I also dislike the fact that either by intention or coincidence certain geographic markets have no stock
hile others have a full stock. Distribution should be more even across the states.
- I have 3 Princess I bought for my children would love t sell 2 now that the panic is out to get one. I started buying them because my daughter loves cats and now we have all the kitties. She's loved them and I have made good friends endlessly discussing them.
- I think they should make it eaiser for children to buy them and keep dealers away.
- I dislike retailers that treat beanie hunters badly
- I don
- i love the feeling of not knowing what is going to happen next.. that is why i love collecting because it is not predictable, and it is a safe, fun thing to do
- I wish beanies were a bit easier to get, I wish all were sold at retail, and I hope that TY will enforce retail selling prices. But I love them anyway!! and so do my children!
- I think they started out for children to enjoy but now kids can't get or afford them!
- Its lots of fun
- I hate Ty retailers who sell beanies for large amounts of money like $200 for Erin. Thesed retailers should not be allowed to buy from TY.
- Many retailers are charging $20 and up for recent retired Beanies that they are still able to order from TY (ie 1997 Teddy, Lizzy, Snowball).
- The unavailability for Princess and Erin other than at outrageous prices is very frustrating!
- When TY started making beanie babies their purpose was to make a stuffed toy that children could afford with their allowances. Now I don't like the fact that beanie babies are hard to find and TY retires them before any children can get their hands on them. Now it is all profit.I think that instead of TY worrying about how they can make more of a profit they should go back to making a toy for children not adults.
- The only pet peeve I have is authorized dealers selling Erin and Princess for secondary prices.
- My family and I really do enjoy collecting beanie babies. The excitement of the hunt is always fun. However, it is troubling to see the less reputable retailers setting aside the hard to find and the popular beanies for their personal friends. It makes it very difficult for the average collecter to find beanies for a reasonable price. We love the characters that Ty has created an we look forward to collecting many more in the future.
- I am tired of not being able to locate beanies, and if I do the price is getting too high.
- I would like to know more about them
- I dislike the price gouging by Ty merchants!
- I am totally disgusted with direct Ty dealers selling at secondary prices!
- I dislike the fack that most retailers are selling Princess Di and Erin to secondary mkts. so that I am unable to get them for my grandchildren for their collection. It's not right to see them so plentiful at Ishop at home and secondary shops at extremely high prices and not available to the rest of us at reasonable prices.
- I think that it is too bad that the prices have raised and the kids that it is intended for can no longer afford them. It is now a collection for adults.
- I'm tired of the greedy customers rushing the sales floors.
- hi everyone!!!!!!!!!!
- I enjoy the beanies very much, but the dealers make it very hard to purchase a new release, chargin about 20-25 dollars for new onew and around 400-800 for Erin and Princess absolutly rediculous.
- I think that patti and peanut and pinky and chocoalte
- How about a beanie parrot ???
- I just hope Ty keeps making them. The darn things are just so irresistable!
- I have a Iggy and aRainbow
- I don't like not being able to buy the Princess or Erin without having to pay $250 - $300 for them
- Retailers and secondard market vendors are usually very friendly and tolerant of the craze - it is the customer that can be very nasty and beligerent. I, as a customer have seen it many, many times while in a Beanie distributors stre and I feel sorry for the clerks! Unfortunately, collecting crazes brings out the worst in some people!
- Ty should correct what's happening with Erin & Princess by flooding the market, or announce that they will be limited. Then drop any retailer not selling them at regular prices.
- like- that some authorized dealers have not raised their prices ( still $5 for all beanies) --- dislike that most authorized dealers either get no princess or erin or say they don't and raise the price on any retired beanies they get. dislike that a lot of dealers won't sell to kids without an adult. i thought beanies were a stuffed toy for children!
- I WANNA KNOW THE NEW BB RETIREDS!!!!!
- I would like it a little easier to obtain these BB before the secondary dealers got their paws on them. It makes it very difficult to afford to purchase for the kids when on a budget.
- Irecently sold my entire ( 100+) for over $8000
- Retailers are selling BBs out the back door to high paying individuals before they put the least wanted BBs on the shelf. My dealer says they did not receive PrDi or Erin. I know by their sales persons they received them. They are also selling them on the NET and not putting them on their shelves. THEY ARE GETTING GREEDY. Hallmark stores in Cherry Hill< NJ are selling retired pieces they get for what the market will bear.
- I really get angry at retailers that sell currents (Princess & Erin) at inflated prices! I heard Ty is coming out with a new Bear named Peaches!
- Princess and Erin are way too hard to find at a reasonable price!!
- Would love to see a Bison....how North American can you get? Would like to see Maple and Britania made avail. in the states.
- dont like that Princess and Erin are so scarce at resonable prices. There supposed to be for children, and even authorized TY dealers are selling them from $25 to $99.00. That's outrageous. I want them and cant find them under $295.00 i think for promotions, they should go at resonable prices adn available thru BBOC to all members first, and some how have it computerized so no one person can purchase dozens and resell for $295. Some stores still have not gotten 1 shipment of these 2 items. This
causes much stress, waisted hours driving and calling stores to see if anything has come in and the average working parent cant get to stores weekdays at 9 to get the new shipments and jump from store to store. There needs to be some controlled way of dispensing to keep the prices down and out of secondary markets. Thank you a tired working person trying to get the collection. Love all the animals. Would like to see more BEARS. Especially PURPLE AND GREEN> ar regular Prices. Have customers pay reg
lar 5-7 dollars and donate $20 to a charity of there choice. Great publicity.
- Princess is ridiculously priced (sometimes over 375 dollars in Philadelphia's airport by illegal vendors!!) We're not all rich!!
- ther're retirering beanie 3-31-98 or 4-1-98
- Yes, I would like to add a comment, I am in Arizona and there are stores out here who receive Ty shipments and the will charge $11.00 for one beanie. Some stores will charge $20.00 each for the new ones, where as some stores will charge six dollars for the new ones. Also on the secondry market people are to greedy. They sell them for really high prices and children or the average person can't afford them. This started out to be a kid hobby and now the adults are talking over and ripping everyone
ff.
- how do we find out which ones have just retired?
- I HOPE THE MARKET DOESN'T GET FLOODED !
- a childs toy is no longer avail but to wealthy children.
- ONE PRICE GUIDE,
- i think collecting beanies is a bunch of fun. A great conversation topic
- Beanie babies are the baseball cards of the 90's
- I have a real problem with the secondary market making a killing off of Princess
- Don't like it when stores sell to other dealers by the dozen. Don't like when they're too hard to find.
- i would like some one to help me get started in the right diriction on how to buy wholesale from other dealers
- no, thanks. i would just like to know who is retiring so i can get them
- I started out collecting Beanies for my granddaughter, 7, but they seem to be hard to find and overpriced, especially when just coming out.
- Wwallywrld@aol.com
- If my name is ERIN-- guess what my favorite beanie is??? BUT a close second is PEANUT-- he's who i snuggle in bed! And you know what? Let's hear it for Pillow Pals! I Like Pillow Pals! It's a good substitute for beanies that are on display. I would love to cuddle with Fleece, but seriously, she's WHITE and I feel MUCH safer cuddling the corresponding Lamb, BaBa. (Guess what impossible beanie is on my list? trap the mouse. I am 16 and have not spent more than 20 dollars on a beanie. Now how do you a
l suppose I am going to acquire trap the mouse? :) Only in Beanie Baby Heavan...
- I think many have lost interest in beanie babies because Ty Co. kept them off the market too long and made them difficult to find. Today, I see lots of stock in stores - and these beanie babies sit on the shelf. I also don't appreciate the limited editions of the Princess Di Bear and Erin the Bear. I would love to putchase these for my granddaughters - but they are impossible to find OR the dealer wants $100 plus for them. I used to be very excited about beanies and went out of my way to call stor
s and to drive to stores. Today, it is an afterthought. I think Ty made lots of money - and they don't care about their customers.
- I would like to see a German Shepard dog named Chief. I think it's very exciting when Beanies retire and new ones arrive!
- more frequent retirements and new releases would be more fun
- DIslike Princess Bear Proceeds going to retailer's charities and not Di's
- Ty should have been more creative with the latest beanies. There are enough cats and dogs - come up with some new ones!
- I dislike that authorized retailers are selling the new beanies for triple the suggested retail price. I like that the retailers who sell them for the suggested price, limit the quantity people can buy.
- i think beanies r going to go down in value because he makes to many beanies of on type(just like barbie )
- Hope they continue to retire some and make some new ones to continue to increase the value
- I am frustrated with retailers who only allow you to buy one of each baby because I have 2 daughters who love Beanies. The "beanie quests" can be so much fun but also disappointing. I wish beanies were easier to find.
- I don't think retailers should be allowed to run secondary markets in their shops. They are using TY advertising for their own outrageous profits. If they want to run secondary, they should have to advertise and run it off site. It's mean to pull people in with kids who see a Beanie they want only to find it's $40!
- I really think that all the retailers should have to sell for $5 that was the original deal. I do believe I like the hunt - it is kind of fun and exciting. Trends - I think they are going to continue to make the bears difficult to get and they will reti
- I think prices are way too expencive
- I am going to enjoy them for a long time!
- I really enjoy hunting out rare and retired beanies. To me the secondary market is a good source of income for some and pure enjoyment for others. Now I do agree that not all 18 yr. old girls have $800 to spend on the American Trio or $200 to spend on chops but I do and it is very exciting to get a good buy in the secondary market.
- They should have set retirements. I've collected now for about 9 months and am getting tired of it. I'm losing interest. Probably will sell my set.
- I don't like the fact that the dealers cannot order plenty of Princess and Erin so that we all have the opportunity to collect these special beanies.
- Price them so we can all afford them!!!
- I heard a rumor about a Peace bear for Mother's Day. I would like to see that, but I don't want it to become like Erin and Princess.
- I think it's terrible the way the authorized retailers hold back the valuable beanies to sell on the secondary market, before they even get on the first market! Ty should drop them!
- What a wonderful concept - they are so cute. "Thanks, Ty."
- I think they should keep the price low for the younger children , also send more out than this 12 and 36 deal..I get very upset Ty doesn`t try to check out some of the retailers that charges the out of this world prices..As i mom i hate to tell my daughter you have to make a bid which she did once for 20.00 she saved it up for a month, but they laugh after she left the store and said no-way could she have a chance, i know this because my friend was in the store at the time it was said..I only wish we h
d a chance to tell Ty i`ll check on stores and report to them FREE!!!
- Some people make them way too much money, like carts. It is so rediculous! I love them though no matter what!
- If the new one become so over priced I believe that the market may go else where. We all can afford the 5-6 dollars item. That is what makes collecting Beanies fun. Pay hundreds of dollars is not some thing every one can do.
- With the difficulty in finding Beanie Babies, especially the Princess and Erin types, collecting isn't as much fun as it used to be. My daughter and I used to love visiting the different stores and talking to various people about the Beanie Babies - having to spend the night or fight over them, as is being done here, is ludicrous. Personally, I'd love to see their values drop substantially so they can go back to being what they were intended to be - fun for children, not a profit center for greedy ad
lts.
- I don't think it is fair that some people buy many of the same beanies(ex. Erin) to sell at outragest prices. All I want is get my hands on just one for a reasonble price
- I hate it when you can find a beanie for $9.99, but at another store it's sold for $6.99! The prices are all different, and you never know which one is the right deal.
- I must say the thing that upsets me the most about collecting beanie babies is the fact that a retailer can charge what ever they want for a BB based on the market, when we all know they pay there same cost for all of there orders from TY
- think it's great.i have fun collecting,trading
- Pouch should retire because the baby in its pouch is a choking hazard. Mel should retire because Mel Gipson may sue TY. Gracie should also retire.
- Wish beanies were more available at retailers. They tend to have the same ones over and over. And I wish they had regular shipments so you would know when to go.dren in my fa¢£Àk
- no
- I hate how all the cool animals are retiered and I think even though they are retiered they should be sold for less money. Every time I go into the BB guestbook everybody is selling the non-retiered's for over $10 that is rediculous everybody is so greedy but I always go to the LOVE STORE where they sell BB's for $5 now that is a reasanable price that is all Thank you for listening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Please change the style of the cats. Except for the fabric, they're all the same! Please put in more birds (robins, blue birds). I would like to see ribbons on all the teddies.
- I want all the bears! And I hate how their all retired and you cant get most of them for under three hundred dollars. Hey, I don't have that much money!!! It's not fair!!!
- I'm surpised how easy it is to get sucked into the frenzy!
- I have many comments but my first is Why would TY make only 12 Erin bears and send them to stores when there are so many collectors just make more Then those stores either sell those in the secondary market or have raffels or make you purchase $100.00 in there merchandise then pay $19.99 for the bear it's a new bear it should sell for current price sometimes i reaLLY get upset but my children love collecting these things have to keep going for them that's all for now
- I'm surpised how easy it is to get sucked into the frenzy!
- I think TY needs to check who their authorized dealers are and what prices they are putting on their beanies and drop anyone found to be selling them on the secondary market without question. Thank you.
- i think ty should let more retailers sell beanies
- I like collecting Beanie Babies because it's fun and relaxing. My daughter and I have made alot of good memories shopping here and there for our Beanie Babies!
- Please change the style of the cats. Except for the fabric, they're all the same! Please put in more birds (robins, blue birds). I would like to see ribbons on all the teddies.
- I don't like the way Ty Wrnner keeps some Beanies scarce and others available everywhere.
- beanies is like a treasure hunt, it's fun!!!!!!!!!
- should have held on to my retirees
- I love the beanie babie craze. I think the fun part is the hunt involved in trying to find the ones you dont have and waiting for more to come out or retire. I LOVE IT!!
- I have totally obsessed on these little creatures. I love them. Although I think some of the stores are selling them at inflated prices out the back door or to their employees which is bringing the prices way out of reach for the rest of us who have to buy off of a secondary market.
- need to find beaniemom trader page help!!
- More Female BBs.
- I hate the way stores are raising the price on new issues. My daughter will never own Erin or Princess because these people are so greedy!! I also know of people who are on "lists" in different stores and buy them for issue price of $4.00 - and then go out and try to sell them for $200. It is not fair to kids who are trying to collect them that these greedy people create a higher market.
- They should have another female dog. :P
- Half the fun of collecting is the hunt.
- It used to be alot more fun buying beanies now its a pain.
- I dislike how much people are selling Princess for, she was supposed to be for charity.
- I don't know this for certain, but feel that a lot of authorized retailers are selling directly to the secondary market the most desirable "current" beanies. These retailers must be receivng some of these in their shipments, but they never appear for sale to the general public. I am made to feel there has become too much greed in what began as such a clever child's toy.
- I have only been addicted for about 6 months, this situation with Princess and Erin makes me very angry. I saw at least 30 Princess at secondary outlet with $150 price on them. I have never seen one, not even one, on sale in a normal price setting. When I saw Erin announced on the Ty website I thought "at least we will be able to buy this beautiful bear" I was sooooo wrong. Was it like this when valentino or Peace were released? I can never buy a beanie baby for the prices they are asking for Pri
cess and Erin =0( =0( =0(
- Ty teases us too much with anticipation of new beanies but admittedly has one of the best marketing techniques ever. I don't like the fact that retailers are siphoning off their stock and selling on the secondary market before it even hits their own market. I do hope to see an all red bear, maybe "Red Riding Hood".
- I love every single one of 'em!
- Secondary/Primary price gouging is putting me off collecting
- I wish Princess & Erin were available to all at a reasonable price!!
- We would like new ones available reasonably
- I wish the prices would be held affordable for kids. My daugter uses her babysitting money and allowance to purchase all of her beanies. I wish retailers who over markup their beanies should lose their right to sell from TY.
- Beanie Babies Rule and always will!!!!
- having fun w ith them
- I feel it is very unfair to working people when stores put out new shipments of Beanies weekdays during business hours - some people have to work for a living and can't wait in line outside for 4-5 hours.
- I sure am glad my mom bought me Pugsly and Baldy and keeps buying more for me!
- ty dealers selling directly into the secondary market
- I think they should make them easier for kids to get.
- I love collecting them, but I wish that new ones would not come out so quickly and that Princess and Erin were available for $5-6
- i don't like the fact that i can browse all these beanie baby sites and not be able to place a direct order with you all in one step??? I urge you to provide this service to all us craze collectors. It's very hard to go to a merchant and find the babies that you are looking for. Please make it easier to sell the beanies to buyers over the internet. I suggest you go look up www.checkservices.com and see how your customers can order directly over the net with electronic check payments that are secure
and makes it much easier for people like myself to order beanies or any other products in one quick easy step! Does that make good business sense or what? You may e-mail me travel-svcs.com or fax me 813-535-5192 and let me know that you would like for me to fax you over the details so you too can make this service available! Just think, I could have been ordering beanie babies right now, so could thousands of others...we'll talk soon...God Bless, Sue
- Most Beanie collectors or secondary people are to pushy, I have been hit, pushed and shoved all for a beanie so I only go to stores that already have there beanies out(whats left).
- i wish you could find them better, but i like the hunting some to it adds excitement too!
- Just wish there were more of the newest releases and availablity wasn't impossible. Especially the oldest retireds, would like to see them out in circulation again to complete my childrens collection. More reasonable prices from secondary retailers. Speciality shops that sell extra's of currents at exhorbant prices and keep them for gimmicks/give aways should NOT be given the opportunity to do so! It's NOT FAIR!!!!!
- A few retailers immediately upon receipt, put an out of site price on the new releases. You really have to shop around and you never know if you make a mistake walking away from a sure thing at a high price. One craft mall made you purchase mall items, $5.00 purchase for each $5.00 beanie bought.
- I appreciate retailers who limit an individual's purchase to 'one of each type' and keep the new releases at $5.99. It is a shame that new releases are being sold at exorbitant prices. Ty should be more responsive to consumers reporting these retailers.
- I would like to have a complete collection but know that is impossible. Finding the old retireds is impossible at a reasonable cost.
- Too dificult to get ones like Princess, Erin, & Peace. If you arn't in store when they come in, no chance. Also, price for Princess, often $100 , is too much for most.
