- I think that beanies are adorable and I love them but I also think people make to big of a deal about them. I would never get in a fight over them or spend more than 33 dollars on one I would only spend that much if it was one I liked. Some of them are u
- I believe they are getting to hard to get. I also think valentino, peace curly and Erin will retire May1 plus alot of the others. There will be more to retire this time than there was last time.
- when we moved to chicago in '95 we soon started buying BB. It was fun and the kids really had a great time. they loved it but then it got too hard to find BBand it became a challenge. fun for awhile but what the market is today is not assessible to kids and ty has lost what it once was. i hope this craze ends. I now see ny in laws buying bb for what? CRAZY
- It's ridiculous how people that have no knowledge of Beanie Babies are starting to sell them on the second market just so they can make a profit.
- The secondary market is what helps keep these Beanies alive!!! But, I feel that any retailer that is taking these Beanies out the "back door" and reselling them to secondary market dealers need to be handled appropriately. The secondary market dealers should be acquiring these Beanies the same way we collectors do!
- I would like to see more attention/regards to children when it comes to the pricing of the new ones/bears. In the long run these little ones are the ones who are getting jilted...
- I wish would create more bears...and manufacturer enough for everyone!
- Ty should put tighter restrictions on dealers who hold back the more demanding BB's,(Princess, Erin, Peace etc) for themselves and or the secondary market.
- dealers should beanies are for kids
- i would like mini beanies start a line
- Sure... I want to be first in line when the new ones come out, and first in line to buy the new retireds in the store before they're sold out.
- I would like to see the bears become more available.
- I don't like the way retailers are handling the Princess and Erin bears. I would just like to walk into a store and purchase these two bears without all the hassles of drawings and raffles.
- I dislike the fact that people are taking advantage of Ty's low production of certain beanies and the cost is much too high ($200 for Erin).
- I JUST FOUND AN INTERNET SIGHT WITH PRINCESS FOR SALE FOR 65.00. I HOPE THE NEXT TO RETIRE ARE BLIZZARD, CHOCOLATE, ZIP, EARS, FLEECE, QUACKERS, THE BUNNY TRIO, CURLY, AND VALENTINO BECAUSE I HAVE THEM ALL.
- I think that some stores have over priced the Beanie Babies, and that is not fair to children (since I am one ) . Ty needs to do something about it Now...... or something !!!!!! IT IS NOT RIGHT But on the other hand I thank ty for starting to make them, but I wish I could only get the older ones to complete my set thats what I wish the MOST...:)
- $$***@I think 46!!! **** beanies WILL retire may 1 including some new releases, and I believe the whole line will go by the fall and loads of new ones to follow, MARK my words on 46 46 46 46 see ya
- Ty needs to make the BB's more available to the children. Like Princess and Erin and Britiana
- Beanie Retailers are too greedy.
- do something besides new teddy bears maybe more insects grasshopper a new butterfly dragonfly etc.
- I dislike that most retailers in this area charge twice as much for new Beanies as they do for the ones that have been out for a while.
- I think the next BB should be ferry the ferrit
- Whomp, of course.
- I dislike that fact that stores are price gouging people - especially the children!! I like that the animals are so cute that they encourage snuggling and smiles.
- i think princess is sold for WAY too much and people have forgotten that beanies were not originally made to sell for that much.
- It is difficult to find out from dealers when they will get in new shipments. Sometimes they go for 2 weeks without any. Sometimes they get large shipments in. It can be frustrating and confusing.
- I think Beanie Babies are cute and they are a good way to make money but prices are getting out of hand.
- I think that beanie babies are adorable. The phenomenon is really unbelievable. I was just wondering though that if there are so many people collecting these adorable beanie babies, is it really likely that they will be worth money someday? When you hear about some beanie babies selling for thousands of dollars, it is pretty amazing..
- One of the few things I hate is how shopping channels lie and sell Beanies for SOOO much more than they're worth.
- I wish more retailers would be honest and place the BB out (at a resonable price) on the shelf for the collectors to buy.
- i would like to be able to turn in secontary markets such as card collector shops whose employees have jobs at ty outlets and who take the rare ones to their own personal shop
- I wish more retailers would be honest and place the BB out (at a resonable price) on the shelf for the collectors to buy.
- I think beanies will be around for a long time because they fill a need for an inexpensive gift for kids, co-workers, etc. I do not think the current frenzy involving the high prices we are seeing now will last. I believe the pricing will settle down to more reasonable levels. In situations like the secondary markets the collectors do set the prices by what they will actually pay for an item.
- i would like to be able to turn in secontary markets such as card collector shops whose employees have jobs at ty outlets and who take the rare ones to their own personal shop
- I wish that people would not get soo greedy and pick up all of one type of beenie so the rest of the collectors can have an chance to add them to our collection. and example of this is Iggy and Hissy. They are non existant in this area unless I want to pay $20 a peice for them on the secondary market.
- I think ty has a very good product but he is going to kill the colectable part because to many things are beening said bad about the secondry market people sure learn about the beanies babies before going shopping . ty should not be saying bad things about the secondy market becuse this is also helping his business !!! just my thinking
- I HATE 2ndary market
- don't like that i can't find recent retireds at a decent price
- TY will continue producing hard-to-find specific-to-a-country Beanies
- I don't think people should sell them for a ton of money.
- Would LOVE to have Brittiana and Maple. I cannot hear the phone cuz I'm Deaf and if you can find one for me, please do let me know by contacting me at EScheir@aol.com Thank you. My predicition for the next ten retired Beanies are: Princess, Chocolate, Squ
- I love them! I just wish I had them all!
- Beanies are so cute. Please never quit making them. And please bring back the retired ones when you run out of ideas.Your biggest fan.
- prices are (very, very)high and some dealers are very rude.beanies are cute and I suggest a peacock be made next . thankyou very much
- lack of availability for the new beanies
- I don't like when some beanies come out in limited production like Princess and Erin. They all seemed to end up at 2nd marketers make the prices outrageousl.
- I think all beanies should be sold for the $5 dollars that TY meant them for. I love beanies and would one day love to have ALL of them.
- I like the newest news, but you should make the price lists more accurate and not like $20-$30. Just make it like $25 or something.
- don't like the limited quantities of new ones coming out, Erin & Princess........retailers are putting Erin & Princess in drawings & raffles plus the limited amounts, very few people are able to purchase them.
- On Princess:I think that if Ty was truly interested in making money for Princess Diana's charity, they should have sent out many, many Princesses. They all would have sold and then everyone could have gotten them at a good price before Christmas. Then, they go and change the tush tag. People probably paid (myself included) $200 for a PVC tag and got a PE. Now, we aren't able to get rid for even $150!
- I really dislike how all the retailers are selling Princess and Erin for high prices, makes everyone want to wave their white flag.
- I have some beanie babies with black and white tush tags dated 1993 and am very curious about their value
- I THINK THAT SOMETIMES THE DEALERS GET A LITTLE CARRIED AWAY, I'M TRYING TO FIND A PRINCESS BEAR FOR MY 6 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER BUT I FIND THE COMPETITION MAKES IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE!
- MY PREDICTIONS FOR RETIREMENT ON MAY 1ST IS, BLACKIE, DAISY, ZIP, HOPPITY, FLOPPITY, HIPPITY, BONGO, DOTTY, ROVER, FLEECE, PEACE, PATTI.
- I think that the next retired beanies will be Blizzard, Echo, and Mel
- I like all beanies. I wish the stores would quit lieing and put all of the beanies out including erin and princess.
- I wish that beanies were cheaper and at more stores
- I have just purchased an Attic Treasure bunny called Tulip with a swing tag of Selby, can you give me any info? jmarjinsky@aol.com
- I think the "seasonal Easter" beanies will retire in May.
- it upsets me about so many retailers saying that the profits from the sale of princess was going to charity and than keeping the monies. also so many retailers selling erin for such high prices or raffleing them in the stores.
- lucky
- I love the bears
- I hope McDonalds only releases 1-2 at a time per week so it isn't as crazy as 1997 was--it is so much more popular at this point that people will get hurt!!
- I just wish they weren't so expensive!!!
- I have never collected anything in my life. I have enjoyed "the finds" and the hunt just as much as actually playing with the little things! I believe retailers should be just that and stick to the recommeded price Ty suggests. But, I also think that the secondary market makes our beanies more valuable. If they were all worth $5.00, the thrill would be gone. So, the secondary market has its place too.
- I think the beanie stuff is very addicative.
- I don't loke how they are sold for over $10. It is very unfair to people who just want to collect them.
- I really hope TY keeps making and retiring beanies--I hope retailers will stick to the 5-7 dollar purchaces for kids. Selling on the secondary market is not going to send my son through college. Happy Beanies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Beanies are becoming too expensive!!!!
- make it not so hard to find so we can get each one
- I love collecting beanie babies. My kids enjoy them. Recently I was able to get Peace Bear for my daughter and Speedy for my son. I was soooo excited to be able to get both of them. My family thinks I am "obsessed" with beanies having only started collecting them since about January of this year and acquiring about 40 of them. I just love them.
- we would love to see a wider variety of insects and fish. There are so many colorful possibilities.
- Please don't make another beanie until you have enough to go around Mr. Ty!
- I am very new to collecting Beanies, but I really wish the prices would go down for them. I cannot afford these high prices as I also purchase beanies for my kids. I also think that they need to make Princess & Erin more accessible in the near future & for the price they should be - $5.00.
- Attic Treasures will soon be the most sought after
- I don't like how the stores have made it hard to get Princess the bear or Erin. The secondary market have them, why can't we.
- The phenomenon is crazy. When I first discovered them Feb. 1997 I had no clue what they are. Now my children are hooked! We only need Erin and Princess to complete the set. And they are almost impossible to find unless I want to pay an arm and a leg for them, which I will not. So we will wait it out!
- Now is the time to get the recent retireds before the next announcement, teenies arrival. I love beanies!
- The phenomenon is crazy. When I first discovered them Feb. 1997 I had no
- these things are just so darn cute
- More BEANIES SHOULD BE MADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- The secondary market is great fun for collectors but retailers who get their beanies at below retail prices and sell at exhorbitant prices are really abusing their positions as retailers.
- Dislike that retailers give beanies to their friends and family before selling any to customers.
- I think too many adults are collecting just for themselves, and not letting the real kids get any, because they are in school when older people are out looking. I buy for my kids and put them away for special surprises & birthdays or just a treat. Too b
- They should make educational accompaning stuff like The american Girls
- i realy feel all beanie should cost the same on the retail market and am sick of retails selling the bears for hundreds of dollers they pay same for princess or erin as they do spike or scoop.
- I Dislike the Secondary Market even though that is how I got my Princess. It makes me mad that TY does not supply the demad. I think that they enjoy the sec. market to a certain degree.
- I wish there was a way to control the secondary market. A lot of those dealers are really GREEDY!!!
- If Beanies were easier to find, it wouldn't be as much fun collecting them. Part of the excitement is the "hunt". I would like to add though, I find it very irritating that retailers seem to set their own prices which is against Ty policy. The suggested retail price is supposed to be app.$5.00 isn't it?
- I think Ty should set up a system for singular purchases per address for HTF's like Princess and Erin, so a non-dealing collector can get at least one for their personal collection and not pay scalping prices.
- I think the price on Erin/Princess is appauling
- Stop the dirty dealers. More frequent deliveries.
- Prices for BBs like Erin and Princess, even at authorized retailers, are absolutely ridiculous! Get real, please. How can "normal" people even think of spending hundreds of dollars for a single beanbag toy!
- A world without beanie babies is like a world without oxygen
- i hate the fact that the secondary market charges so much for their beenie
- I love beanie babies
- I would like to comment on the stores that sell beanie babies , I know that some of the employees get tired of people asking abuot the beanies but , after all thats what they are there for right to sell to the public !!! All I ask for is that they be polite ,I am polite I do not understand why they cannot be also . thank you
- I dislike that my local retailers are putting higher prices on any new beanies that they get in and not selling them for the same price as others. I also hate it when adults are greedy and buy bunches of the same beanie leaving me unable to find unique ones for my son, after all were they not designed for kids?
- Id like to see a buffalo and wolf beanie babie
- Retailers are NOT staying with Ty Pricing!!
- I wish that beanie prices would go down. The adults are taking all the fun out of beanie baby collecting. I had to give a friend a beanie baby from MY OWN COLLECTION instead of buying one because of all the greedy adults.
- I love all beanies. I picked Legs as my favorite because he was my very first one.
- Ty should send large shipments to dealers of new realeases to avoid the over pricing
- People need to quit giving TY ALL the credit for being a genius. He is not responsible for what happens in the secondary market, other than actually retiring a Beanie Baby. Ty does not make $175 off of Garcia when he originally sold him to a retailer for $3.00(or however much it costs to manufacture a BB). Anyway, the consumers are responsible for the secondary market. We want something now, not tomorrow and we'll pay what we have to for it to keep up with the "Jones'".
- Retailers should not be able to hold for people.First come first served.
- My biggest concern is the number of Beanie Babies entering the market. I don't believe the cuurent BB's will ever be as high in value once they retire like the originals. Obviously Quackers is worth more because there were only 780 made. How will a BB w/ 5,000,000 copies be valuable? Everyone knows to keep them in mint condition, so you cant count on too many disappearing in ten years. Fortunately, I love the little guys no matter what they are worth!
- i love beanie babies!
- I think there should be more Princess bears available, as well as Erin.
- Retailers that never put Beanies out, but hold them for friends.I also think Ty is able to release more Beanies, but chooses not to do so. Therefore, part of the problem in holdouts and higher prices charged by retailers is due to the Ty marketing process.
- If the secondary people were not there the Beanie Baby craze WOULD NOT have happened. Supply & demand created this. TYs marketing is genius and without the secondary market these cute little furry creatures would be just that and have no value at all!
- I think Ty retires too quickly and too often, I think I know what the strategy is but it also may be the reason for the multitude of beanie greediness going around :)
- wasnt this suppose to be for children enjoyment?
- I would like to see Princess the Bear manufactured more and have it open to the general public. Lots of people would buy one, even if it sold for like 20-50 dollars. The proceeds could still go to charity.
- The outrageous behavior of adults on the teanie beanie babies at McDonalds my kids just wanted a meal and a toy but we couldn't even get near the place try telling 3 and 7 year olds they cant get a meal and toy because the lines are way to long and the caos in the restaraunt was ridiculous I hope McDonalds controls it better this next time or I will not subject my kids to that again!!!! Beanies are great and kids love them but again it got ridiculous with adults buying them and leaving none for the
kids!!!
- Secondary selling to gain profit should be banned.
- I like collecting BB's but some people have their prices a little to high.
- I feel the same way as other people do about retailers putting certain stipulations on their sales of beanies including the bears. I am from Ontario in Canada, and we do have some honest retailers who will not sell a beanie, regardless of the style, for more than $10.00 (the going Canadian rate). However, I feel sorry for these honest retailers, because now Ty has put a stipulation on the Canadian retailers wherein for every Princess, Maple or Peace bear they order , they must order 10 other regular
eanies. Ty decided to do this so that retailers could not order just the bears and sell them for higher prices. However, this has now just made it even more difficult to obtain the bears. It's as though Ty is punishing the consumer for choosing a favourite style of beanie baby. I cannot understand why Ty has a problem with a consumer picking a favourite. They should be proud that they have created a favourite that so many people (children) wish to have (wish to purchase). Does Ty not want our money.
Instead of putting this stipulation on the retailer and having the retailer pass it on to the angry customer, Ty should provide whatever the retailers wishes to order. Sure, we'll still have some retailers selling them for outrageous prices, but eventually it will stop when a customer can just as easily obtain the bears for regular retail price somewhere else. I often wonder if Ty has purposely chosen to put the stipulations on retailers in order to continue the high price craze and in the long run, not
are about what was to have been an inexpensive toy for a child to enjoy!
- Derby And Mystic Are Retiring
- The Beanie Baby phenomenon will probably suffer in the near future, due to the official dealers jacking up the prices of certain beanies, (I see this every where in NY city, where I live). Greed destroys collecible markets. Also due to the hoarding of "ho
- Waddle, Peanut, Pinchers to be retired soon
- I FEEL THAT TY NEEDS TO HAVE A DIRECT WAY OF SELLING TO THE PUBLIC TO STOPP SOME OF THE VERY,VERY HIGH PRICING THAT IS GOING ON. THIS HIGH PRICING IS HURTING THE REAL MEANING BEHIND WHAT THEY ARE PRODUCED FOR. OR, SOMEONE LIKE ME SHOULD BE ABLE TO TAKE ORDERS AND BUY FROM TY AT COST AND RESELL AT SAME PRICE TO FRIENDS.
- kewl
- I love them all.
- I wish that beanie babies were just like a dollar or two cheaper so that I could buy 2 beanie babies instead of 1 with my allowance.
- need to have more dealers selling BB's.........tighter control on dealers that sell BB's............more Erin and Princess Bears need to be made.........
- I hate conterfeits.
- I think that the Ty Company should manufacture more of the hard to find beanies (Erin, Princess, Peace, Valentino)
- I don't like authorized dealers selling currents for $10 and then having you write your chek to them personally instead of to their business name.
- I really dislike the way people are selling the BB for hundreds of dollars. Because of this people who truly enjoy them such as myself, children etc. can not even buy the one they want. People who buy them and resell them for a higher price are ripping people off. I know a man who buys his BB from a Hallmark, which sells them for six dollars, and then he sells them for twenty dollars. It is awful. I love BB and I will continue to buy them for 5-6 dollars for my boyfriend and myself, and from Hallmar
stores.
- I dislike people who sell the Princess Bear and don`t give the money to charity
- I wish I would have started this earlier!
- I think that it is silly to pay more than $100 for a piece of cloth stuffed with beans. I mean, i LOVE beanies but my limit is $10. I'm not crazy!
- I hate how stores like Ballons Cards and Gifts sell beanies for $20 and up
- It is a bug, when it bits it bits hard, and you are hooked!
- it woult be nice to get a list of stores in my area.
- mom2gnv@earthlink.net
- The shows in New Orleans are never posted. I find out after they are finished with. I need more information on Beanie Baby shows.
- neat survey! when will the results be p osted?
- I just wish my daughter could afford to but Erin at a resonable price, Ivhope that if any new bears come out they don't skyrocket beond reality, so Kids can have one instead of crying for them because there so high you can't afford them.
- I dislike the retailers practices. They are next to impossible to find in the stores, and the ones I do find at the stores/gift shops will put the "least expensive" on the shelf and put the others up with higher prices! I wish I could purchase directly from Ty the ones I want for my child.
- I think that it is stupid that people sell Princess and Erin for so much!
- I think the secondary market is very greedy; Beanie Babies were meant to be affordable for children, and shouldn't be selling for $1000+!
- It enrages me that these beanies are so hard to come by. I started collecting them for pure enjoyment, but it has become somewhat of a painstaking process to acquire just my favorites due to extremely high prices, and retailers selling to flea markets and second hand markets only to make a HUGE profit. Other than that, I am thrilled with my collection, and look forward to FINDING new and more Beanie Babies.
- I don't like the fact that one retailer will sell a certain Beanie for the regular price and another retailer will sell same Beanie for a great deal more money. There should be one standard price
- Older greedy parents suck!!!
- There will be more teenie beanies in May
- My home has been invaded by BEANIES!!!!
- Viva Beanie!!!
- my kids and i love them/ they r mommies animals
- beanies born in 1994 will retire in May '98
- add a mouse named squeakers
- I think TY will retire the 1993 & 1994 BBs
- I think that the three bunnies will retire in the upcoming retirement on May 1, 1998
- nopers
- I love them because they are cut, cuddly, and i find it very intersting, finding places to get them, endlessley sufing the internet for beanie pages, I even started my own Beanie Babie club ! I guess you could say I'm an addict !
- I think this may retirement will be bigger than we all imagine.
- I don't like that people are so greedy about the money. Espesicially the stores. I used to go to one store for a really long time because they sold currents for $5.99 and Retireds for $10.00, both without tax. But now, all beanies they sell are $15 and up. And you can never find Princess and Erin for a reasonable price. I love your website and fortunatley, I'm very patient and will not buy any current beanie for more than $6.50 or any retired more than $20 without tax.
- I wish Ty would remanufacture some of the retired Beanies as a 2nd Generation version (like Trap the Mouse)so us new collectors could get a chance to get genuine Ty "lookalike retireds" at reasonable prices!
- the one thing that i dont like is two of the hallmark's in my area are taking the erin's and princess and selling them on the secondary market instead of selling them to peolpe for their intended price
- I love beanies Iwould never sale any I only have one of.
- They have covered almost every animal what animls will be next?
- I do not like when they limit the # of beanies retailers can order (i.e. 12 of Princess Di & Erin. I also dislike how the beanies are being shipped out of the US & why can't we acquire Maple & Britanicia in the US.
- In my area, it is very hard for a working person that say works 8:30a.m. 5:30 p.m. to have a oppurtinty to get achoice b.b. they put them out first thing in the morning . they are usually gone in a couple hours by the time a working individual gets there all that is left is not much. thanks beanie tu tu

- I'M THE BEANIE QUEEN!!! WITH 3,500+ BEANIES! YEAH BABY! MAKE ME HORNY ONCE AGAIN! PEACE IS DA NUCLEAR BOMB!
- no
- i wish the retired beanies were easier to get and wasn"t so expensive to purchase.
- I THINK THAT BEANIES ARE UNREASONABLE PRICES IN CERTAIN STORES!!!
- Retailers are not always fair with sales, they hold(steal) for friends, and sell all of them to secondary market dealers. Some stores that I could name mark teddy bears up to $300-600 and they hold them in the back room for you to make the best offer when they retire
- I think beanies are a wonderful toy/collecter item! I know i am way to addicted to them when I start feeling bad for the beanies being played with by kids! I seen a brand new quackers being rubbed threw the dirt and it broke my heart! Crazy, i know!! Thanks! Windy
- bb's suck!!!!!!!!!!!!yeh baby yeh!!!!! do it to me again!!!!!!!!!! you make me totally horny!!!
- ok.. i'm from Canada and i hate it when ppl from the U.S.A complain about beanies costing $7.50..here they cost $13.86
- The thing that makes me the maddest about authorized beanie retailers is when they keep some of the beanie in their shipments to increase supply and demand. I know some retailers who own a successful store but yet they do this anyway. Also, I think that more valuable beanies like Princess and Erin should not have their prices yaked up by authorized Ty dealers just to make an extra dollar.
- sell more old current ones (ex. Daisy, Pinchers, etc.)
- i don't like the secondary markt's prices
- If the beanie baby price was lowered more people would buy them and ty would make more money.
- why is it so hard for ty to supply such beanies as maple, peace, etc. to canadian retailers ? As a canadian retailer, we are very frusterated that maple has been on backorder since september, yet we are able to get lots of bones, doby, etc. I think ty deliberately causes these shortages and the result is the secondary market.
- Me and my 3 kids collect beanies and between the 4 of us we have about 400. I get real frustrated when we go to stores to get beanies and they keep them hidden behind the counter then tell you that they don't have any. My daughter made the comment, after
- I object to the trickling out of new beanies backing them incredibly difficult to find and buy. This is especially true with the January issues and Princess and Erin. It makes the Beanie experience less enjoyable for the whole family. The secondary market seems to acquire them initially making them prohibitive further aggravating the less than enjoyable acquisition when they are first issued. Also Ty retailers have private lists which seem to be filled first which then makes the final acquisitio
of Beanies 2-3 months from the time some children have already acquired them. I wish this could be prevented. I wish that you will retire Chocolate, Pattie, Pinchers and Squealer. I would like you to make more endangered species, like a black-footed ferret . Scary the ghost , Cheesy the mouse and a Brainy the brain coral.
- Too many greedy people out there. They go and buy handfuls at a time! Mostly greedy adults with snotty kids. Greedy people!
- I am frustrated that my girls cannot get the BBs they want because of the secondary market. As far as I can tell, a Princess has never been on a retail shelf for less than $10.
- i wish the beanie market wasmore geared towards kids
- awesome beanie babies awesome as can be
- I love beanies! They're so cute!
- Two new Beanies are: Flippity the blue bunny and Peach the Bear. Two retireds are Squealer and Gracie.
- I just hope that Ty Warner has enough sense to keep the interest going on for years to come, not only are the fun to collect, they're cute, & make all that see them happy...............
- i believe chocolate, blizzard, scoop, the bunnies will retire
- I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE HIGH PRICES. IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE SECONDARY MARKET, THE BEANIES WOULD NOT BE WORTH AS MUCH AS THEY ARE!!!
- I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE HIGH PRICES. IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE SECONDARY MARKET, THE BEANIES WOULD NOT BE WORTH AS MUCH AS THEY ARE!!!
- One comment! All Reatailers selling the new ones for 30.00 should have their license taken AWAY!
- Latest merchandising scheme I saw at the Mall. Since Ty's announcement about pricing. Our local Small World store had Princess and Erin in baskets along with a lot of other stuff that I wouldn't want under any circumstances. Price of the baskets differ but most were around $75-100. On the back of the clear wrapping paper were the "price tags" of each item in the basket with Princess and Erin both listed as $5.95. One had a weird sculpture with $49.95, candle for $19.95 and misc. other items driv
ng the total of the basket up to the previously mentioned high price. Of course the items in the basket are non-returnable!
- Tye-Dye Bear with a smiley face on the chest.
- I like meeting people who are collecting so that I'm not alone in this silly craze. I really got hooked on this by hunting for them for my grandchildren. Now I don'tknow what I'm going to do with them in the future. I know this has to peak out somewhere but I am looking at it as a business since my health has kept me from working.. The thing I don't like is getting involved with such high prices when these were originally meant for the children to enjoy. That part makes me uneasy but business is
business as they say.
- Wow! I've been collecting for three weeks now and I'm hooked! I sit the the internet every night and run around town on lunch hour in search of Beanies to add to the collection. I never thought it was this much fun and such a great investment! All the beanie people you meet are so nice and I've made a lot of new friends. Who would have thought! Happy Beanie Hunting to All!
- Di will be next.
- even after ty's newsflash every retailer in town is still selling them for the same price and only one store in town has lowered their prices.
- I'm a 51 yr old mom who's really enjoying my 2nd childhood thru collecting Beanie Babies. Keep them comming!
- It is an exciting yet frusrtating hobby and we are kept wondering which one will retire and how many new ones will they make.
- If Ty does not like the practices of the retailers, they should produce more of the popular beanies.
- I'm a 51 yr old mom who's really enjoying my 2nd childhood thru collecting Beanie Babies. Keep them comming!
- I wish people would make Beanies easier to find and it upset me when my favorite collectible's prices went sky high.
- I think people who work that sell beanies should not be able to buy as many as they want for thier family. One lady said to me thats tuff I have 8 grandchildren and my mother and all the other staff before any one will even touch erin in my store can they do that thats not fair if every one has alot of family.
- I want Princess and Erin for my collection and am so tired of not being able to get them except by luck of a drawing or at an outrageous price on the secondary market. These are the only 2 beanies I need to have a complete collection since I started (from Oct 1997)
- Retailers are crooks and the ones the up the price should not be able to sell them any longer.
- I think they are extremely addicting and hope that the bottom does not fall out of the craze.
- Beanie Babies are for kids, NOT dealers!!
- It is very very difficult to find a retailer selling beanies at the Ty recommended price. It seems most use the secondary market price to sell their beanies. Is Ty planning to do anything about it? For instance are there any retailers that sell all current beanies for the recommended retail price? I haven' found one, not even at Hallmark.
- I believe that retailers selling beanie babies for outrageous prices should not be allowed to do that as it makes it impossible for children to purchase bears like Erin or Princess for their collection, and isn't it the kids that these beanies were intended to be sold to? I can understand limiting it to one per family or person, but come on, the adults are making it impossible for the children to collect them, and the kids were the ones who started collecting in the first place!!!
- There are not enough of a supply of Erins or Princesses in the retail stores yet Home Shopping networks seem to have an unlimited supply, since when is HS considered an upscale boutique?
- I wish that I could find a princess bear for it's intended price of $5!!!
- The hunt for beanies is half the fun. And, you meet some really nice and interesting people standing in beanie baby lines.
- There are not enough of a supply of Erins or Princesses in the retail stores yet Home Shopping networks seem to have an unlimited supply, since when is HS considered an upscale boutique?
- nuts the squirrel
- I predict that Princess and Erin the bear are soon going to flood the market and I'm going to be mad that I spent 140$ on Princess!!!
- I THINK THAT TY SHOULD GIVE BB TO STORES INSTEAD OF DEALERS THE DEALER SELL TY BB 'S FOR WAY TO HIGH
- I dislike the difficulty in finding Beanies, and I dislike the the fact that I can't afford to get my son the beanies he wants.
- I hope it goes on forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think that the bears in the BB collection will always be really popular because there will always be Teddie Bear collectors looking for them. My mom, brother, and I all collect them. It's a lot of fun because all 3 of us can go shopping for them. We like to find places that sell them cheaper than other places and predict which ones will retire next. Those are the ones we add to our collection. We each have our own taste. My brother likes the different ones like Hissy, Gobble, Scoop, and Batty.
My mom likes cute and origanals ones like Curly and Fleece. I like onew like Goldie and Seaweed that are sea creatures. I also like bright colors like Pinky and Pattie. Overall, Beanie Babies are here to stay!
- I think the people that wait outside the closed retailers doors all night to get a chance for a beanie is absolutely nutz.
- Like Ty's new price policy, but am skeptical if he will enforce. I hope he does. I am angry that the adults have "taken over" a toy market that was originally intended for children. My kids can't afford secondary prices or the hundreds Erin and Princess are sold for, even in the authorized outlets!
- like to see a snail, coyote, red and blue bird
- Some retailers are over pricing beanie babies for more proffit.
- Ty needs better access to report bad retailers
- Bones, Chocolate, Patti, Pinchers and Quackers are sure fire retirees
- I LOVE COLLECTING BEANIES!
- I think Pounce will retire because of "Pounce" kitty treats.
- Erin is the next one I am looking for but she is not on your list.
- I HATE GREEDY ADULTS JUST IN THIS BUSINESS FOR THE $$$!!!
- Prices are way to high on Princess and Erin. They are still current and should be selling for $5.
- I would like it if Ty would move their retirement day for BBs to May 21.
- I think BB are so cute and I like ALL of them.
- Gracie, because she is white & ugly
- i love beanies
- I think Princess should be more available to benefit Princess Diana's charities like originally announced
- no
- FLEECE IS GOING TO RETIRE!
- Bring back the dinos and STING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I hope Ty is going to add a bunch of different animals and hold back on the endless bear variations. I'd like to see an anteater - and how about a hen and a lioness? The main thing - and I really appreciate Ty's recent newsflash on the subject - is that this should be a "kid thing" and the retailers should make EVERY Beanie available to kids who want them. Thanks!
- Make larger ammounts of beanies so we don't have to pay as much because there hard to find.
- I love the hunt - I do not like secondary market buying up the retireds - but the thing that bothers me the most - store owners on the net selling -instead of selling to their regular customers - I tracked down a local store owner in my home town and he was selling on the net the ones he told us he never got
- I wish that all thoes stuiped fat mumskulls would let use kids get the old retierd beanies. Beacause to me all they are , are 5$ TOYS.
- I dislike it, every time I ask a sales person about beanie baby they give me an attitude. I don't collect them, I wanted to a Princess Bear for my niece since she likes Princess Diana. So far no luck, unless I pay 100-200 dollars for it. Which I think is uncalled for. It is very furstrating when someone like me who just wants to buy it for fun and I can't but I do get labeled as another person wanting to hoard beanie babies..
- The stores sell beanies for way too much!!!!!!!
- I don't mind the search for new Beanies, that's fun. I hate it when there are none, such as Princess and Erin and the only place to buy them is the secondary market right from the start.
- I think its out of control, I like beanies because they're cute. Now I have trouble getting them because of greedy people who can afford to spend hundreds of dollars.
- All prices will grow
- I wish the market were flooded with beanies so that the rediculous pricing would stop at the retailers.
- I think Beanies should be easier to find. I am having a real hard time finding Erin for a reasonable price. Even Ty distributers are selling him for an outrageous price. I do LOVE those Beanies!!!!
- They are just so cute, I can see why they are adicting.
- I have a question about the Maple Bear and the Brittania Bear, are they available here in the U.S.? I cannot locate any? lorijack@redrose net
- would like to see a cat that can sit. I dislike that beanies are not readily available in this area, stores go for months without having any in stock. They are bought out by the secondary market and sold for triple the retail price.
- would like to see a cat that can sit. I dislike that beanies are not readily available in this area, stores go for months without having any in stock. They are bought out by the secondary market and sold for triple the retail price.
- would like to see a cat that can sit. I dislike that beanies are not readily available in this area. S
- Some people are way to greedy, like adults selling them for $2,000.They need to remember, they were made for kids in the first place. Some retailers sell to other people who just sell them again for way more than what they got the beanie for.People selling fakes are horrible!!!! They are for children.Don't they care about anything but money?
- Where are the reputable dealers?
- Ring the Angel
- I like that the phenomenon is not age or gender restricted--it appears universal. I like the gentle nature of the toys themselves. I like the size--I've got 60 or so in a basket, no problem storing or displaying. I dislike the retailers who disdainfully answer, "NO, we DON'T have any Beanies!". I like the retailers who limit purchases to one of each type--makes it more equitable for us desperate BB maniacs. Prediction: BB craze will disappear within 10 years, be noted by antique/collectible dealers in
0 years as a time of madness in the country. Any existing Beanies will then be absolutely priceless. Hang on to those Beanies!
- I think BB's are cool and cute. I don't think it's very fair that some stores do autions or raffles for hard to find Beanies like Princess. I think they should sell them to CHILDREN ONLY and not let adults buy them for high $$$ which kids can't even compeat.
- I wish Ty would make it easier to get the bears. How do the secondary markets get all the bears and we can't?
- I when into a hallmark gold crown store 3 wks ago to find that they had legs, flip and curly. and they were sellling them at 20!! I was disgusted because I knew that they were breaking their agreement with TY. Curly is current too so I don't understand that! Anything to make a buck I guess.
- It's a crazy fad, and I'm right in the middle of it!!
- I think beanies are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- no
- I think the rest of the original 9 will retire along with Princess and Erin
- Beanies Rule!!!:)
- I know the secondard market is higher but they should keep it down they don't have to be that greedy
- As it stands right now, I feel BB's could last just like collecting Barbie's. As long as they keep producing new ones the public will keep the interest!
- I don't like how they dont produce enough teddy bears for retailers making it almost impossible for customers to pay retail for the teddys(Erin, Princess, Peace, & Valentino) making the secondary market easier to manipulate higher prices!
- I get very upset when people in the secondary market wait in lines to buy all the hard to find beanies. I am a single working mom and cannot miss work to stand in line to purchase, so I miss out on lots of beanies .Most people who wait in lines are reselling . I collect for my 3 year old daughter and it's just seems so unfair that you can't get your kid a beanie because adults have bought them all to make money.
- i think all the beanie babies should be sold in stores for $5. people are tooo greedy.
- I'd like to be able to obtain the harder to get beanies at a reasonable price, since I'm a new collecter. Retailers should some how be forced to sell to the public and not the secondary market!
- I want retailers to stop selling Princess for 130 dollars!
- collecting beanies is very addictive and has taken over my spring break.
- what will happen if beanie s go out of style?
- I think beanies shouldn't be so expensive, kids want retireds too!
- Beanie collecting has given my mother and I something to do together that we both enjoy. Thanks
- I DISLIKE THAT THEY ARE SO HARD TO GET.
- I DISLIKE THAT THEY ARE SO HARD TO GET.
- I wish TY would make more of them, since the are for kids. Its hard of the kids when you have to tell them, that a $5.00 toy is now selling for $100.00 or more, just a little over your price range. Or when grown-ups push & take toys away from kids, sets a real good example for the children. I think Ty will retire the bunny trio and come out with 3 new bunnies in little yellow, light blue, and white (like clover) .
- I think Spike,Valentino,Curly,Fleece,Chocolate,Peace, and Weenie will be the next ones to go.
- I want Princess more available
- having great fun with it---so are my friends at work !!!
- LIKE FINDING THEM FOR 5 DOLLARS!!!
- I don't like that the beanies are too expensive now and too hard to find for me to spend my allowanc.
- I would like to see an order form for the TBB's that are supposed to be coming out next month - in addition - for every order form without a meal, I would like to see those meals go to safe houses.
- Many retailers in the us sale priness and erin for high prices and I don't like it at all. I thought priness was suppost to be for princess Daina not for money. So I think they should lower the prices of those beanies.
- I love collecting beanies! BUT, I feel that retailers have gotten a little carried away with the pricing of the special ones that kids and adults really want. They have outpriced them for the average collector.
- I think it is dumb how they sell currents for so much!!
- ALL beanies are precious
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!! I WANT TO BUY ALL THE ONES THAT I CAN
- i personally think that its fun to go out looking for that next one that i need. Its fun looking at the different ones there is. And watch people fight over the ones that is good for sale. I hate that the price is way above the 5.00 range & hope that this keeps up for several years to come. Thank you for the time. Sharon
- I think that people who sell princess or Erin for more than $10 should be found and sued by Ty because 12 year old kids like me can never get our parents to pay or collect enough money for them...I also think the next beanie retireds will be Erin,Curly, valintino, and the ,mismatched tagged iggy and rainbow.I also think that princess will retire in August around when diana died for memorial reasons.I think that Peace will retire soon too.i think that erin is even hotter then Princess because i have only
seen two 2,the one i have and a
- i personally think that its fun to go out looking for that next one that i need. Its fun looking at the different ones there is.
- Stores that charge too much for hard to get beanies are the pits!
- RETAILERS SUCH AS HALLMARK SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SELL PRINCESS AND ERIN FOR 100.00 EACH SINCE THESE STORES ARE GETTING SHIPMENTS DIRECTLY FROM TY FOR 2.50 EA SUCH AS BILLS HALLMARK AT 630 W PLEASANT RUN SUITE 140 IN LANCASTER TX 75146_1576 ALSO GROWING IDEAS SELLING THE SAME TWO BEARS FOR 79.95 THANK YO I HOPE TY WILL CORRECT THIS
- Ty needs to regulate the price stores put on BB. There are some chains around me that sell them for way over $5 for personal profit. People like me, who enjoy BB's should not have to deal with these retailers!
- I hope it lasts a long time!
- I hope all the beanies I have will retire, and nothing else until I get it
- I would like to see Ty create a similar creature to those they reitre, (i.e. Snort and Tobasco), and make one of them afforable, like Snort, and let the retired one increase in value naturally. They have done that with a few of their creatures, but there are ones we just think are adorable, and we cannot afford, (i.e. Trap, Peking, Spot w/o a spot, etc.). I dislike the way the prices of the retired and hard-to-find Beanie Babies have gone through the roof! Because of the excitement of retirement, peo
le are buying and selling like crazy just to get a buck or get it cheap. Prices are raising daily!!!! The internet has just facilitated buying and selling throughout the nation and even across the globe. I just collect Beanie Babies because they are adorable. Unfortunately, some of the adorable ones are worth hundreds of dollars. I hope to never sell my Beanie Babies. They are for our family, and are here to make us happy (which is their original intention). I also hope to see Ty come up with new ch
racters/animals/creatures which are out of the ordinary (seahorse, opossum, anteater, etc.) Thanks for listening...or reading!)
- I PREDICT IT ONLY GETTING HOTTER!
- I dont like the way the store have handled the pris Di and Erin bear. They are selling them for unreasonable prices. I collect for my young daughter. and she does not understand way the stores can do that. I thought TY made these for kids, but once again adults are ruining it
- Beanie babies are awesome!
- Beanie prices vary so much-- it's best not to impulse buy unless you've shopped around and found a good buy.
- I don't like the fact that the beanies made for other countries are very overpriced and that customs can control what I can bring into this country. If it's for my personal use and I'm not bring them back by the truck loads let me keep them.
- some bb have been around for a long time. this collector thinks bb should be retired according to how long it has been on the market and if it is selling well or not. also, these toys are for children i pay for bb out of my own pocket. i recieve then as gifts for christmas and birthday. i WILL NOT buy a bb over $12. it is outrageous that ERIN is being sold for $100+. i recently got PEACE for my b-day and know it wasn't bought for $6. but how can any child or middle clss working parent afford NEW
b at $100+?
- Thank you so much for this survey it is kinda fun
- I really enjoy Beanie Babies and I like the exictement of which are going to be retired and what new ones will be!
- I hate People who are selling beanies at secondary market price because some people have been collecting a while and they can't afford some like the newer princess and erin selling for $200 and more.
- I think Zip, Valentino, & Squaler will retire next.
- BEANIES RULE!!!!!
- Dark Blue Peanuts is a good idea to buy
- Beanie babies are a creative, yet cute idea!
- I dislike the fact that the retailers pick and choose who they will sell what to and for how much. It started as a fun collection and hobby which, for me has turned sour due to trying to purchase them for reasonable prices. Everyone wants to get rich quick.
- You should make a wolf Beanie Baby
- I predict that Mistic is going to be retired.(Mystic with the brown horn)My name is Monika and I love Beanie Babies.I have 9o something Beanies and I have something to say.TY is not fair. They say that Beanie prices are supposed to be 5-6 dollars but they
- MAKE MORE BEANIE BABIES ALREADY, I NEED MORE, NOW!!
- I want them to come out with a Beanie Babie that is a Horse named Attizan because I would be the first to get it.
- They should make enough of the "BEARS" for everyon to collect. It took me ever since Princess Bear came out until now to finally get 2, and I only paid $5.00 for them even if they aren't the 1st generation, I still like them. I wanted them in honor of Princess Diana, because I had/have respect for her.
- I would like Ty to re-issue retired Beanies
- Thank to TY for their price stand its hard to pay secondary prices when the children just want them.
- richie
- A Hip the Cat is COMING!
- I really hate it how people are counterfeiting beanies. It's not fair.
- I can understand people wanting to make a profit from their beanies, but if you have started collecting these beanies late, you don't stand a chance of getting the older ones (pre-oct). I hope ty come out with more of the older style beanies ie coral, kiwi, sting, etc. Something that looks similiar to those beanies. I believe that would help those of us who were unfortunate enough not to get the older retireds.
- I feel that many of the authorized stores maintain a nice balance by having both currents and some retireds at very reasonable prices. It was because of that we were able to get some retired cats and dogs for my daughter and son's collections. However, many of the authorized stores are hoarding the new releases and currents until they can charge a premium. That practice is despicable and my kids and I don't shop in those stores anymore, and also pass the word. Thank you for this forum to speak a
out those cute little critters.
- We just love those cute little beanies
- I think that all current BB's should be up to $6 and no more!
- Iam very young but very into beanie babies.I would love to have princess and i really want erin.i know that they are very expensive and i wish they weren't.i wish ty would give kids a chance to get beanies they really like, like erin or sting and other rar
- drop retailers who sell bears for $200.+up
- I hope they retire the beanies I have in May
- I truely love Beanie Babies! ! ! ! ! I wish I had all !
- We have found a lot of the retail stores aren't selling the Princess bear in their stores like the other beanie babies. They are selling them on the secondary market /shows or they are hording them while they are waiting for the prices to escalate! Maybe the answer to all of this fuss would be for Ty to sell to more national chains so that none of the beanies are worth anything! I can't believe the behavior we have seen adult display in front of children over these things. They are setting very ba
examples for them.
- I have an interesting comment about Pounce the Cat: i think pounce will have to be retired soon because its name is the same as the name of pounce cat treats made by Heinz.
- What I dislike is the uncertainity that newer beanies will ever show up in stores before they retire. Wish Ty would be more upfront on production policies.
- It is a fun hobby for my sister and I to share but it is frustrating when retailers overprice. Also I am disappointed that Princess Bear is so unaccessable. The next wave of Teenie Babies at McDonald's will be an adventure!
- I think ty should ship to australia
- hope it goes on for a while
- I think it's wrong that so many places sell the Babies for more than Ty, Inc. recommends (which I heard was approx. $5.00 each)
- I think the phenomenon is incredible. Ty should make new release and special release beanies more available so that children can afford them, and their parents for that matter. I realize that this is part of their marketing and what keeps beanies a hot item, however, if I worked full time, my daughter would not have near the collection she has because they are so hard to get.
- Would like to see more reptiles and i love the tie-dye stuff.
- My daughter is the collector. She is 9 yrs old. But I do all of the running for them and spend all the money on them!!! I am just as addicted as her though. I wish it was possible to find Princess for a reasonable price. I think Beanies should stay available to children for collection, as it was intended. Too many adult collectors are in in for the money and are stealing the joy from the children. $300 is way too much to spend for a stuffed animal!!! and I can't find Princess for less than that
n my area!
- hope it stays just like they are selling now
- I feel people are reselling them to high priced
- prediction- Pinky& pinchers&squealer will retire
- i need teenie weenie beanie babies
- I think stores should sell them for a price around $5.00 or $6.00 dollars not $175
- I would like to see a grasshopper. I would like to not have to worry about fakes. I would like to know exactly how many of each Ty made.
- I did not think their April Fools joke was funny!
- i've had a lot of fun collecting
- There is a Hallmark in Frisco, TX that makes people buy merchandie to purchase a Beanie Baby. I think merchants who overprice should not be a client of Ty. The BB's are for kids - at a kid's price!! So I for one will be HAPPY to see Ty doing some monitoring of their clients. Thanks!!!!
- Teenie Beanies are great! They should sell princess at regular price..not 100's of $!
- May 1 is the retirment.I'm trying to compile a list of which beanies will be next to retire and I need your help. E-mail me your predictions and I will post the results on the survey. Thanks!
- i think pinky, happy, chocolate, stinky ,freckles and rtoary will retire
- Retailers must remember that a proceed of Ty's sale goes to the Princess Di Memorial Fund. If these retailers are inflating their prices up to $100, they should be donating a large part of this profit to the fund!
- Just getting started, more later.
- Some Prices
- I hope they keep some of the beanie babies at low quantities to keep the interest up and keep some of the beanie babies scarce. It is much more interesting fun.
- Retailers selling beanies for more than $7.00 should be dropped
- Beanie babies are awesome
- I think everyone should sell beanies for $5 because it all started JUST for kids.
- Thanks for the survey. I really hope that the can come up with something so that those of us that want to collect one of all of the beanies can and not pay an arm and a leg. My daughter and I collect together as bonding time. I can't afford the prices so our collection isn't as fun as it use to be.
- I have heard that all of the bears are going to retire like Erin, Princess, Valintino, Curly, and Peace. I have also heard that Peanut, Twigs, all four of the bunnies, Quackers, and I can not remember the other ones. I do not like the way that TY allows the retailers to sell the Beanie Babies for more than ten dollars. I really think that TY should not give them any more beanie babies if they try to sell them for more than 15 dollars exept for when it is a retierd and then I think that the highest a
ount it should be sold for is 25 dollars.
- I think that Beanies are adorable, and most are afordable. I don't care for the greedy adults that shove people out of the was and practly "take candy from a baby". After all, Ty intended beanies to be for kids.
- I think Ty should flood the market with all the bears. It would prevent those greed dealers from charging us outrageous prices for them. For me to get a Princess or Erin, I would have to spend $250 - $300. I don't have that kind of money to fork out.
- I think its sad that children , who the beanies are intended, can't get the ones they are searching .
- I don't understand why the Canadian beanies are so much higher priced than the regular beanies. There is not really that much of a difference. There are just two tush tags attached instead of one. Then the people in Canada, (I'm not saying every one in Canada does this) can go to the store and get a beanie for $5.95 and then since we think their worth more so we buy them for $20.00 when in reality their worth $5.95!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- The Phenomenom will die out in 1-2 years.
- I feel I must have missed something in my childhood to have become so totally wrapped in this Beanie Baby craze. Just hope it keeps going and that someday our collections will be worth a little more.
- I LIKE LOOKING FOR GOOD PRICES AND STELL GETTING THE BEANIE I LOVE!!
- The beanie baby trend will be over in 10 years
- I LOVE Beanies!!!!!!
- I like the way TY makes beanies by looking at other pets... like Bruno and Nip!
- I think that beanies are meant to be children's friends and now children can't even purchase them anymore because all the authorized dealers have bought them all. Other than that, I love beanie babies. They're my life!
- I dislike how people sell them for unreasonable prices
- I think that it is really mean of Ty to make Princess so hard to find. Every day I call stores, and I am always either too late or they "don't have them." Aslo, I KNOW that retailers keep some beanies for their own family and friends. I am only twelve years old, and don't think it is fair what has been going n with beanie babies. I have many old ones, and try hard to get Princess and Erin....Why can't it just be easy to get every beanie. I thought the point of these toys was so kids could purchase th
m and that they are cheap, so kids can buy them.
- make more right before retirements
- I relly think that prices on beanies are out of wack! I mean who would pay $1,500 for a stuffed animal that can fit in the palms of your hands. The highest I've payed for a beanie was $20. Well maybe if I was rich I would buy a Humphry but I'm not so I have pretty much no chance in getting Humphry wich is sad, because i really want him !!!!!!!!
- I think the prices put on Princess and Erin are ridiculous. They are simply stuffed bears that were created for the enjoyment of people.Especially Princess. It was made to remember a very special person. Also all the money made from her is for Diana's memorial fund. She shouldn't be sold so people can make $200-$400 for their own use. Its just plain wrong.
- I think the secondary market has gotten out of control, but without it, then this would end up being a fad.
- Far too many secondary markets are hoarding the new releases and driving the prices up for the regular comsumers. I'm dissapointed by the number of sellers that have lined their own pockets with the profits from high priced "Princess" bears. TY's intent for this to be a fund raiser for the Princess of Wales Charities has been overlooked and greed has taken over. Why the huge price tag and difficulty obtaining Erin? Will the New teenie beanies be hoarded by all the secondary dealers too?
- I hate the idea that the new bears come out and you have to purchase them for over $150. The retailers themselves save them for their families or just don't put them out because they don't want to get in trouble with TY. I have never even found the Peace Bear for under $50.
- I don't like how Princess Bear and Erin are SO rare to find. If you DO find them...they are 100 dollars. That is not fair to children, or consumers. I refuse to pay more that $6.00 dollars for a beanie!
- i love collecting beanie babies but I think that all stores selling them should keep the price at 5.00$. Also more retail chains should sell them.
- I Love Beanies!
- WE ARE CONSIDERING SECONDARY MARKET FOR LIQUIDATING SOME BEANIES. TY IS DOING A GOOD JOB AND I WOULD NOT FEEL ANY CHANGES ARE NEEDED UNLESS, THEY WOULD ESTABLISH A CLUB AND ISSUE MEMBER PIECES. BEANIES ARE CUTE AND AFFORDABLE FOR CHILDREN.
- #15 was too hard to answer. I love them all!
- I think Ty should really regulate retailers from selling beanies at such high prices for those of us who cannot afford to pay $200 for a bear! I have paid $40 for a bear from a Ty retailer which is still a little ridiculous. I also think that Ty should come out with a parrot beanie.
- You can't buy just one! As soon as you buy your first one, you've become addicted and can't stop!
- I dislike the greediness of SOME Ty retailers who purchase ALL Beanies for $2.50 and sell some selected ones at secondary prices in their stores, instead of placing on their shelves with other "stock"!
- I DONT SEE HOW THESE ADULTS CAN TAKE A CHILD'S TOY AND TRY AND MAKE TONS OF MONEY OFF OF IT. tHESE WERE MADE FOR KIDS AND WHEN THEY ARE PRICED SO HIGH PARENTS CAN NOT AFFORD THEM FOR THEIR CHILDRE
- I predict that the following beanies will retire, Batty, Chocolate,Claude, Curly, Erin, Fleece, Gracie, Patti, Pinchers, Princess, Rover, Spinner, Gobbles, Squealer, Valentino, and Zip. In the next month or two.
- I think Curly and at leasy 1 of the first 9 will retire.
- Beanies are the best! And take the cooments with the bad words off of the comment page!!! Little kids read this stuff!
- I hate all the rumors of upcoming retirees, it causes a total panic with buyers. I wish people wouldn't do that until they know for sure!!!!
- I THINK PEOPLE SHOULD STOP SECONDARY MARKET!!!!!
- I ADORE EVERY Beanie because each of them have a way of making me laugh or smile.
- I only paid $20.00 for Erin... My most expensive so far. I want Princess for $25.00!!
- I just want Ty to keep up the good work.
- I think one of my dealers is saying that he got the beanie Erin on the Net so that he can sell her for $179. I told him that I would not pay that.
- I really, really enjoy collecting for personal use overall. I would like to see more control and a system of getting MacDonalds Teenie beanies, like keeping it one type of teenie per week and maximum of 10 Happy Meals per purchase. Thank you
- I can't wait till May 1st!
- Beanie Babies are the Best!!! I think they are so cool!!
- I like to see a group formed to inform TY of retailers who sell hard to finds at riduculous prices or say they donated them to charity without proof of any donation, etc.
- i don't care
- billy the goat for our president
- I think that TY should retire Inky, Crunch, Squealer,Congo, Nuts, Sly, Gracie, Baldy, Bernie. Dotty, Zip, and Ziggy. If TY releases I think they should make a chicken, hummingbird, rabbit or bunny with a fluffy tail, and a baby chick. That's All.
- Princess and Erin should not be sold for more than $10.00. I just bought Princess for $5.50 yesterday.
- Unlike most collectors, I don't mind the fact that some Beanies are impossible to find (like Erin or Princess right now). That's what keeps us addicted and collecting. However if either were to retire quickly, or even before the end of 1998, I'll be extremely disappointed (unless it were due to a legal problem, then it'd be okay). If I still couldn't find one after the mini "dump" immediately after a retirement, I might even stop collecting.
- Retailers should sell beanies for $5!!
- I think beanie babies are great! They're inexpensive, cute, and valuable. My only problem with them is the secondary market. I'm a 14 year old collector, and I don't think it's fair for adults to raise the prices of certain beanies on the secondary market, just because they have more money than kids. I don't have $500 to spend on beanies, so I wouldn't buy Bronty, or any other extremely high beanie. I am especially disappointed in the price of Britiana. I really want her, but I can't buy her beca
se of her EXTREMELY HIGH PRICE!!! It's not fair, because beanie babies were made for kids, and adults are ruining it for all of us. I hope the secondary market goes down, low enough so I, and many other kids, can afford the retired beanies that we want so badly. ~GirlPow564~
- It is unfortunate that people seem to think that they should sell Beanies at prices high enough to put someone into debt or have to mortgage their home. These little critters are adorable and everyone deserves to be able to have a Beanie no matter which one, current or retired. I trade and sell to others who can't find ones they want and I purchase to add ones to my collection that I can no longer find near home. You can never be too young or old to have a Beanie!! =)

- Too hard to find any bears!
- I just don't like the fact that a lot of retailers unfairly sell HTF beanies to secondary dealers instead of to the intended customers (children)
- beanies are the cutest things around!!! Most of them are in a good price range, I'm just sorry I got started so late. My grandkids love them to pieces---good old Snort started us off!! Thanks,Ty!
- This whole phenomenon is unbelieveable!
- I dislike the retail stores selling the new bears for over $75 I thought they were supposed to be $5 so the kids could afford them. It's not right. It's pissing me off, I'm thinking of just not buying the product any more that's the only way to let ty know they need to stop retailers to sell for over $7. Otherwise they are the cutest stuffed animals. My son loves them.
- I love collecting beanies, but Im new at it and all the ones i want that are older or retired are to hard to find, and retailers dont put out too many of the princess, peace, erin they are to hard to find and secondary sellers seem to have them all.
- I am so addicted it drives me crazy. I actually get stressed out over these cute little stuff animals.
- My son only wants one of each and I personally do not care if they are worth one dollar in years to come- but I have a few duplicates for my other children and to me they are savings bonds for collegethat I am cashing in on next month!!
- I FEEL THAT PRINCESS DI SHOULD BE ACCESSABLE TO ALL SINCE THE PROCEDES GO TO CHARITY. ERIN SHOULD NOT COST MORE THAN THE OTHERS IN SOME STORES OR PRINCESS DI FOR THAT MATTER
- I think that they should come out with a yellow bear with a black smiley face on the chest and call him sniley the bear
- '97 Teddy will Skyrocket!
- i think it is very bad that when a store gets them the employees get to keep them then they auction off the only one or two left.
- I FIND IT QUITE ANNOYING THAT ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A PRINCESS OR ERIN BEAR ( UNLESS I WANT TO PAY A GREEDY MERCHANT THATS OVER- CHARGING FOR THEM!!!) THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A FUN THING TO COLLECT, TOO MANY MERCHANTS ARE GETTING CARRIED AWAY WITH " THE CRAZE"
- I like all the different types of beanie babies that there are, I like it when new ones are released and I can go and hunt for them
- I think that ALL retailers should have to sell ALL beanies at the SAME PRICE (about $5-$6)!
- ty is doing a very good job with the Beanies phenomenon. I would, however, like to see ty retailers put all their merchandise on their shelves like the ty newsflash. I wonder, if ty did the statement only for public relations.
- better controls on the retailer
- would like to see better availability to the babies and a uniform pricing by the dealers.
- Would like to see the stores sell all beanies, except maybe the ones that are retired for the same price, not higher for the newer ones, and not the prices they are asking for say Erin and Princess
- Where can I find a BB list? Help???????/
- Having to stand in line to purchase, limits per household so my kids and I have to share the limit, not getting to choose the one you want but the clerk selecting for you from the bag, raffles for Princess and Erin and none on the shelf... these are a few of my dislikes.
- Retailers not putting stock on shelves
- I have a wonderful marketing idea for ty as if he needs it and would like to talk to him direct if anyone knows how to insure that a message could get to him e-mail me at nanapop@bellsouth.net
- I have a wonderful marketing idea for ty as if he needs it and would like to talk to him direct if anyone knows how to insure that a message could get to him e-mail me at nanapop@bellsouth.net
- I think that adults need to get a grip when it comes to tennie bb. I think that they should let kids get a toy in their happy meal that is not a piece of crap that goes in the trash with in 3 days. Also I think ty should come out with at least 5 new beanies every month. Where I live in one store there will be a specific beanie for 5 dollars and across the street the same beanie is being sold for 20 BUCKS! I think that is pretty stupid.
- No!
- I think that Gracie the swan will retire because it seems like she's always one of the last ones sitting on the shelves.
- the greed of the merchants....expecting $7.50 to 9.00 for a beanie tht you can get elsewhere for $5 just makes no sense.
- I like that there are so many cute styles in the Ty Beanie Babies collection.Ithink however that ty should increase the number of beanies that they manufacture so that all Beanie Babies are easier to find .I Dislike that some beanies cost so much to buy.I wish that ty would not keep which Beanies are retiring such a secret. It is hard for a kid like me to get hold of all the BB we want because so many adults take allthe ggod ones.
- I would like to see more availablility of some of the beanies, especially new ones.
- TY should ship a very limited amount to the USA of Maples and Britannas
- I have all the current Beanie Babies (eccept Erin & Britannia) Including Princess. Ialso have 6 retirees! And im 13
- I wish serious collectors could get beanies for a decent price like we used to before it became such a fad !
- love beanies but dislike the people who say they will make a deal and then back out of it without your knowledge.
- They cost too much for kids like us.
- I like the tye-dyed benies and the bears. I only buy the current beanies and then wait for them to retire.
- Some shops are unehtical in wo gets beanies as the make sure shop people and family get waht they want first and if you do not have connections you are just out or luck. Some have "drawing" but do not have the list of who wins. some require you so buy 10 and then you are in a drawing and again no list of winners. (Sweet Basil and time in Maple valley Wash.)
- We just discovered beanies. I would like to be a retailer. I would love to make it my life! I would like to find out more information on how to become a retailer.
- I THINK BEANIES ARE GOING TO NOT BE SO POPULAR IN ABOUT 3 YEARS AND PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE MAD BECAUSE THEY'VE PAID $500-$1500 ON ONE BEANIE AND NOW THEY CANT SELL IT AND NOT EVEN GET$50.00 OUT OF IT!!THEY WASTED THEIR MONEY.......
- I think that new Beanies should be available enough for the average collector, like me to be able to buy for the suggested price of $5-$7. I understand retireds being expensive, but one should be able to get Princess or Erin at the introductory price for a few months at least. Paying hundreds of dollars for new Beanies is not right.
- I would like to see Ty take a look at the Baseball Trading card industry, and relax a bit about what's going on in the secondary market. Baseball card collecting is fun for all ages, and all income levels.
- Ty needs to add new animals instead of making more of the same. For example: possum, chipmunk, snail, peacock, fawn, groundhog, and a new mouse.
- I think some beans should have clothes.
- Why do they limit ones that are for charity?
- I think it should be easer to get a checklist, HOW MUCH ARE BEANIES REALY WORTH?????????
- I love how cute bb are!
- beanies RULE!
- BB priced too high, greedy grownups buying and pushing kids out of line.
- My problem with TY's new pricing policy is that the kids will still see few HTF beanies on retailers shelf. There will just be more for the fanatics and dealers who have made a profession out of collecting. My kids(there's eight of them) have given up any hope of having a Princess of Erin. They love their beanies and their beanies show it. You just can't pay $100 for a toy for a kid to sleep with. I do hope they change Princess so the dealers who paid big bucks will be happy and maybe leave the ne
design, produced in large quantities for the ones who would truly love her.
- It's a good way to teach kids about the way the stock market works. Beanies go up and down in price with supply and demand, just like stocks. Prices get high so everyone decides to sell and take a profit, so the market gets glutted and prices drop again, so people stop selling, and demand increases, etc. Kids can learn about investing, holding on to things until the value increases, and selling at a certain profit level. A beanie is just like a share of stock, and in today's market, they are as goo
as cash. I hope it continues because I find the whole beanie game lots of fun, and it's helping me get through school financially. No huge profits, but it makes up for the interest on the loan I have!
- I THINK THAT McDONALDS SHOULD HAVE MORE TEANIE BENIES ON HAND!!!!!!!!!!
- They should make a new one named, Slimy the Slug.
- I feel that the licensed retailers should be required to display all of the beanie babies that they have received. Holding (or reserving) for individuals should be allowed, but just to hold and sell to the secondary market should be stopped. If there is a
- retailers that jack up prices/more retirements
- fuck you
- I think the beanie market will keep rising because as they retire, people want those.
- I think TY will come out with a Russian Blue cat.
- i really wish that certain retired one weren't so rediculously priced.
- I'm angry that Ty "plays games" with those of us who collect. I believe we should all be able to obtain ANY non-retired Beanie. The idea that Ty allows only certain Beanies in each shipment and controls the number sent makes it difficult for those of us who only collect for fun to obtain Beanies we really want, such as Princess or Erin.
- I HAVE SOME FUN IDEAS FOR NEW BEANIES. I'D LIKE TO SEE AN ALL BLACK SEAL (SLAPPY) A RAINBOW STRIPED ZEBRA (ZANNY) AN ALL WHITE FOX (SNOW) AN ALL WHITE BUNNY (EARS STYLE) (COTTON) A BLACK LAMB (BAAAABS) A NEW SIT UP BEAR, PEACH COLOR (PEACH) ANOTHER DINOSAUR NON TYE DYE DIPLODICUS STYLE (DIPPY) AN ALL WHITE OWL( MOONY) AN ANGUS COW BLACK (GUS) JUST SOME OF MY IDEAS.
- All new Beany Babies should be offered at the same price and made available to everyone- It was horrible, the pricing and un-availability 0f Erin and Princess.
- It is discouraging when you frequent a dealer store who sells at the $6 price and people have just bought beanies and turned them right around to the consignment case, marked up to $20.
- I think that I am being forced to pay entirely too much for beanies.
- i really wish that certain retired one weren't so rediculously priced.
- why is erin so much money? what the hell? this is ridiculous.
- Wish the prices would remain close to retail
- I started collecting with my boyfriends mom who has cancer, as a fun thing to do together. We try to help each other out. I have sold a few good pieces, because i found i desparately needed some cash for my car, house and college funds. I enjoy the bears, cats, mythical, tye-dyes..I can't get my favorite(rex) way to much $$now! Thanks, this was fun.
- I like the people I've met, standing on line!
- would love to find a cheap radar
- I feel that it is time that Ty open an outlet for the consumer to order from and quite messing around with the dealers who charge $7.00 and up for BB. I love BB and buy them for myself and my son's family.
- I enjoy collecting because it gives me something in common with my nieces and nephews. I have made a point of only buying from retailers who are following Ty's pricing policies. Some of the retailers in my area have had to resort to hiding the more popular beanies from the adults and then offering them to children who are looking at beanies in the store. I think Ty will retire Princess bear early just because of the outrageous secondary market prices on her, especially since proceeds where supposed
o go for charity.
- If you told me a year ago I'd be buying these things, I would have laughed at you. Now, I'm so hooked it's all I think about! hahah
- I wish the bears were easier to get.
- I think Chocolate the moose will retire next! Toodles
- A lot of people think that bb's are not as popular because stores have them longer than they used too. I think it's because everyone has the current bb's and are waiting for new bb's to come out.
- Ty dealers being rude and unethical, this is why the secondary market people thrive. Ty needs to get rid of the ty dealers selling $5.00 beanies for $200.00.
- people are too pushy and greety
- I have been a collector for many years and really enjoy it. I started collecting as an activity that my children and I could do together, Hallmark miniatures(with my sons), dolls and magazines(for myself) ,southwestern art (with my husband) and now beanie babies for my granddaughter. I think beanie babies are a great idea and I hope the trend lasts a very long time. I just wish the retailers would set the same limits when selling to the second market and I wish the "games " would stop( store raf
els, and the hold back so the store has 100's of people lined up outside at 6:30 AM).
- I don't like retailer's keeping shipments off the shelves until all the employees get theirs.
- Too many secondary sellers are too GREEDY. This toy is supposed to be for kids - what kid can afford $200 for a $3.00 item?
- I DISLIKE HALLMARKS SELLING @ HIGHER PRICES, ON RETIRED AND NEW BEANIES! OR HOLDING ERIN & PRINCESS FOR THEIR OWN PROFIT ON THE SECONDARY MARKET!
- l love beanie babies but my family think that they are a waste of money!!!!!!!(but they are wrong)
- I loathe that retailors sell Beanies for more than the $5-6 range. I was in VA visiting when I saw beanies that I had just bought in MD going for 4 times their retail. Not to mention retireds that were extremely over priced. I looked on the ty website and they frown on this also.
- I wish Ty would quit coming out with the same animals w/ just different names. There are still plenty of animals left to do.
- I LOVE BEANIES!! I just don't like the prices for some! :o(
- I'm getting out of the beanie collecting business because it is too greedy now!
- It really"twerks" me that a local FEED store can sell beanie (supposedly from TY) and put the condition that you have to also buy $25-$50 worth of their other stuff, like plants, animal feed etc. When I got my Peace Bear from them they wouldn't even let my 8 year old daughter pick which one she wanted. They said "this is the one you get" she doesn't even like the way it's colors are. (Not enough on the "girlish" side ;)
- I think that the Bears should be easier to find. I think that the dealers should only get one of each Erin and Princess.
- I don't think it's fair that the first market is selling beanies for so much. Also I wish there were more Bs in Maryland.
- Beanies are the most funked up things in the world. I have a beanie wit ywo asses and thats the only reason I bought it. Mr.ty warder can beeeeep his own self. They should have people beanies that are nude and Iam not sick . When the world fucking ends you should ask yourself why the fuck did I spend so much fucking money on these worthless pieces of shit. i sugest that you all should donate your money to the poor pepople in the world who are right now straving to death and are propbably dieing and al
you mest up people are throwing ouut cheeseburgers form happy meals just to get theis mest up muchkins Well sorry i had to swear and all that but you so damn phoney
- they should sell princess for less
- I hope the beanie craze doesn't stop anytime soon, I love to collect them!
- I want to sell all my Beanies and get rid of them because they are a burden to this world. I think I was nuts at a point in my life time and I think all you people are freking CRAZY.
- ***NOTICE*** there has been a mistake made up at TY in Canada!!! There have been 100 Curly's made with a darker ribbon! This only appears on Canadian Curly's! The Phoneys have a dhinier ribbon and the real ones have a slightly duller ribbon!
- I think that Ty should stop putting out these limited releases, I have heard that they are making a bear for mothers day now!!
- A LIKE TO SEE SOME MORE BEARS, WITH FLAGS FROM COUNTRY'S AROUND THE WORLD....LIKE..... OLYMPIA THE BEAR...FROM GREECE
- Love them! They're so cute! But I have a hard time getting all the ones I want because they're so hard to find.
- I believe Valentino will retire next because he is the oldest of the current bears. I will never buy from a secondary market retailer ever!!!
- some of retired ones are way too high for people to buy
- I REALLY LOVE BEANIES AND WILL CONTINUE COLLECTING THEM FOR A LONG TIME I KNOW I WILL NEVER GET ALL OF THEM BECAUSE THE VERY FIRST ONES ARE REALLY EXPENSIZE NOW AND WILL CONTINUE TO GET HIGHER AND HIGHER AS THE YEARS GO BUT BUT I WILL COLLECT AS MANY AS I CAN I LOVE THEM ANS I AM ADDICTED
- Ty should watch over stores that are seperatly owned stores more carefully because they set their own prices. Chain stores (like Zainy Brainy) have to stay at on price.
- I think that TY is going to lintroduce a new bunny and retire Ears on May 1, 1998.
- I lov beeny babys caus ther cute
- Collecting is so much fun for my daughters and I. The thrill of the hunt for the next one we would like to have is a lot of the fun!
- Love those Beanie! This is a great hobby for my l0-year-old and myself to enjoy together. Thanks TY!!!
- May 1 is the big retirment.I'm trying to compile a list of which beanies will benext to retire and I need your help.E-mail your predictions and I will post the results on this survey.Thanks. My e-mail is adk008@mailcity.com

- I think you (they) should NOT retire them so quickly because you have been retiring them quicker lately.
- May 1 is the big retirment.I'm trying to compile a list of which beanies will benext to retire and I need your help.E-mail your predictions and I will post the results on this survey.Thanks. My e-mail is adk008@mailcity.com

- The novice beanie baby shopper has no chance of getting a new release (at a normal price) because the stores have sign-up lists that consume their future inventory through the end of the year.
- I have all of the Beanies that have been issued in the past several years. Now I am concentrating on getting the very first editions made. It will cost me a fortune. I am 43 years old and I can't believe that I am spending this much money on tiny stuffed animals! Ty, I'm hooked and I hope you're happy!
- All the anti-secondary market nuts should be quiet! It's easy to find currents for under $7. Do your kids really demand hundred dollar retired beanie babies? If you don't like the secondary market, then don't get involved in it! They are fun for evryone to collect, a good investment, and shouldn't be limited to children. No, I'm not a greedy middle-aged dealer, I'm 12 years old! To be retired: Bongo, Chocolate, Bones, Pinchers, Blackie, Peace
- I can't believe the "phenomenon!" I don't know how so many people began making money so soon on them. I wonder just how long this will go on and how many people will get stuck with beanie babies they don't want and can't sell. Or if it will happen.
- I think they should come out with more dinosaurs especially tie dyed ones
- Prickols the Porkie Pine,Doe the dear
- I think people selling beanies for rediculous prices should lower them. I won't pay 100 dollars for a Princess bear!
- I, like the rest of us would like to get Princess, Erin and Peace at retail. This has gone way out of line when these stores want hundreds of dollars for something that was intended for children and adults alike to be able to buy and enjoy. Most of us do not have these kinds of funds, so we are left empty handed. It is sad when I have to tell my children sorry that just costs too much. It breaks my little one's heart!!! Ty needs to come back down to earth and let the children have their toys back!!
- I used to make fun of Beanie Collectors, but now that I am addicted I can't get enough!
- chocolate the moose and patti the platupuss are most likly to retire next
- ADULTS, GET YOUR OWN THINGS TO COLLECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Its Crazy! I LOVE It!!!!!
- I resell but I also collect for my children. they have a small collection and buy all theirs with their own money!
- I think bears like Princess and Erin are way overpriced. Nobody should pay over $20 for them.
- i think it is totally wrong for the dealers to limit. i have three kids and they all want iggy but i can only get one of each style. and a store around here limits to 5 per family. if i bought 5 and then my mom wanted to buy some, she couldn't because i had already. its just not fair. and for maples, erins, princesses, etc. to be selling at hundreds is just totally out of control. personally i've had it with the whole beanie baby crraze!!
- Beanies Rule!
- bEANIES ARE addictive and fun and will be around for a long ,long time.tye die is the best beanies.
- I hate people who sell on the secondary market
- i hope the ty pricing thing goes through!!!! i really, really, really want princess and erin, no matter what their worth
- The value really is in the product. Ty has done a beautiful job with this line. They have an energy which can call to you at $5, or $500. The craze isn't based on nothing; they toys really do call to people - they become aware of them and the toys themselves catch new collectors, not just the appreciation potential.
- I think that Erin and Princess are way too expensive! It's not fair to kids who aren't rich, but love Beanies. Also I think there should be a peacock , a deer , and another fish.
- Retailers should not increase the price on Princess and Erin to several hundred dollars when they sell the regular ones for 5-10 dollars.
- I feel this fad will start to drop dramatically!
- love them, having problems with people charging way too much for hard to find beanies like erin, princess, gobbles, and spunky. people are just getting too greedy and are buying too many of one kind and not giving others a chance who are new the beanie collecting. thank you. edgerton, wisconson
- i am really angry at the secondary market dealers because i only need princess and erin and those are the most exspensive!!!!!!!!!!!:(
- I think in 2 or 3 yrs. BBs are gonna be dead. But I am not critisizing them, Ilove them. For M-day I think there should be a Romeo bear. Liked your survey!
- I love the beanies. I teach 2nd grade and buy duplicates for my classroom so my kids can have the experience of them. I like to match them to characters in books and also to various holidays and seasons. The children love them and take good care of them.
- I love beanies and I enjoy shopping for them, but lately I have been discouraged. Shop owners are charging way too much! This is out of control. It doesn't make it fun to collect something you can't afford! I think Ty needs to come out with new ones more often. It seems like forever in between cycles! Thanks TY! I love beanies!
- I don't like how some stores are selling beanies for hundreds of dollars. A child like me does not have a job and cannot afford a beanie of that price. Also, I don't like how some retailers are so greedy that they only want to make money.
- I think that for people who deal on the secondary market, whatever price they choose to charge is perfectly fine, and noone should question them. However, if a store on the primary market is buying directly from a company like Ty, they should sell at the suggested retail price, or maybe slightly higher if it is retired or extremely rare. I have seen primary marketers sell collectables such as Princess and Erin for $350 a piece, without having it at it's regular price
- I do believe that retailers should be able to charge whatever they think the market will bear for new releases. I hope that collectors will have enough sense not to pay exorbitant amounts. I will not pay $12 for currents. That's happening here in Denver. One of my favorite Beanie stores has just jacked up the prices. I hate that. Another trend I hate is the line up, and certain times to begin selling beanies. After being screamed at by someone while waiting to purchase beanies (this was Spring 9
), I will not stand in a line. This certainly cuts out most establishments. Price gouging and lines are offensive to me. I just want to be able to buy three of each style between $5 and $8. One for me and my two kids. I hope the retailers will put a stop to this practice. My time is way too valuable to waste standing in line for the newest Beanie. Thanks much for listening! Jennifer
- I think that secondary prices are unfair. Im a kid and I cant even afford the beanies I want to buy. The adults have taken over. Beanies were supposed to be for kids
- retailers who charge over TY suggested prices should be dropped.
- I don't like that some of the beanies have the same shaped bod (i.e.. Velvet, Stripes, Blizzard, and Freckles
- I love beanies!!
- Way to go TY. Great NEWSFLASH!Now can they put their money where their mouth is??TY really needs to crack down on their retailers. I am sick and tired of these retailers getting greedy and marking up beanies, especially Princess & Erin. I have 4 kids, and
- I bought my first two beanies(black/bl. lizzie and trap) for my cat-for $4or$5 ea.; she never played with them; and today I am going to sell Trap to a local store!!
- I think that they should not price beanies that are new like Princess and Erin so highly. They should sell them for the retail price, from $5-$7 dollars.
- I think Spunky is soooooo cute!
- i'd like to see a beanie design of a feret
- I was in line for Princess and Erin the other day and said to the woman in front of me, "This is the first time I have ever stood in line for a Beanie Baby." She replied to me, "It won't be your last!"
- I would like to see more information on upcoming babies and complete lists in a compact form one page.
- There are several retailers that I shop from....who are great and don't sell to secondary...and who sell at close to the $5.00....there are many others who are horrible and rude and very ungracious about the whole thing!!!!!!!!
- make it a mail order only
- is there any way to get ty dealers to sell allbeanies they get in to regular customers and not secondary peope?
- They just keep getting more irresistable!!
- If you know where to look prices could be just right
- I hope Ty will stick to it's price guidelines. I like the idea of a toy I can buy my children or that they can save up for themselves, that is fun and safe.
- In California the secondary market has gotten to dealers so they never sell Princess or Erin under $150. it makes me want to stop collecting.
- I would like to see more control of the sellers, so that there wouldn't be such price gouging. It would be nice if there were some places you could still buy them and not have to pay through the nose. Also, I really get angry at the stores who keep them in the back, probably so they can sell them for higher prices.
- I think the rest of the original 9 will retire next
- THE BEARS ARE SUCH A HIGH DEMAND. COME OUT WITH A COUPLE NEW BEAR CHOICES. MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR EVERYONE TO AFFORD MAKE A LITTLE LARGER QUANITY.
- i think that happy may retire soon
- NO
- I think to many people knock the secondary market. There are a lot of honest secondary people out there who pay money to get beanie babies and sell to us. I have a hard time finding beanies in the TY authorized stores. So far, most of the stores I go to have list of peoples names who they call when the first new batch of beanies come out. It's not fair to those, like me, who go store to store to be told you have to be on our list and I can't add you to our list. Just put out the beanies and first
come first serve. I am still trying to find a Princess and Erin for 4.96. That's how much I paid for my Peace Bear. I happened to go into my favorite store and the manager likes surprising his customers and he put Peace Bears out. It was great.
- The Beanies are here to stay! Major companies that produce popular products all seem to be coming out with their own version of the Beanie. Everybody wants a piece of the acion. But there is only one TY. Like him or not, he does know how to market his product!
- I get upset when stores never have them when my Mom takes me to get one. And I get mad when I don't have enough money for the one's I want.
- I would like to buy them at a reasonable amount!
- Maybe they could "unretire some TY beanies!
- Canadian retailers making a huge profit from selling to American Secondaries should be dropped.
- I think secondary prices should be lowered, and I also think they shall not be sold for more than 6 dollars!!!!
- I Like Cheap Beanie Babies!!! I think this fad will last a lot longer than some people think!!!
- Canadian retailers making a huge profit from selling to American Secondaries should be dropped.
- Dislike retailers selling to the secondary market before offering to general public and selling at prices many times the acceptable TY pricing for example Princess & Erin. Like the variety of styles and the retirements that make collecting more of a challenge. Nothing like walking into a secondary market and finding the next addition to your collection that you thought you would never find.
- I hate store limiting 1 per style per lifetime, and I don't understand how a store refuses to sell more than 6 even if I want different styles, there is no other product I can think of that a retailer would say, sorry I don't need your buisness
- For people who wants to collect only, they should be able to get any current ones from dealers, instead of having to "hunt" for them!
- On #16, if you mean authorized dealer selling to secondary businesses, then I would check it. Otherwise anyone buying a beanie is potentially a secondary person.
- I'm Mad at a Hallmark for selling Princesses for $50. Ours was only $5!
- I love beanie babies. But I think that they should sell Britiania and Maple in the USA.
- I hope I can get bears soon !!
- I'm a kid and I like to play with them alot. That's what they were meant for.
- The retailors selling the beanies like Erin, Princess,Holiday beanies for crazy prices and selling common ones for $10-$15. I hope Ty stops distrbuting through this retailors.
- I dislike the prices for Teddies
- hard to find beanie babies
- I think that they are too much money. For one not retired beanie baby it's $10.00 and that's alot I think all of them shoud be around $5.00 then more people would buy them.
- the bunny trio is supposed to retire
- I like beanies a lot. I don't like the fact that I'm 17 and have to pay $100 to get a beanie that I really wanted becase people around here are to greedy to sell it for the $5 price range!!!
- I wish people would stop making up rumours just to see people panic & make things crazier than they already are.
- i think bones, pinky, mel ,seaweed, sly ,bongo ,zip, hippty, should retire very soon
- Casual Collectors shold not be forced into the secondary market to aquire current BBs. Like Rainbow , Princess , Erin, Peace, Iggy, etc. I don't want to fight to get what I like and I don't want to take advantage of suppiers to sneak in before others.
- I don't like the way many dealers restrict purchasing to children only. I'm 19, and I'd like to be able to buy one if I see it... I do think that people have gone a little berserk over them, though. I buy the ones that appeal to me, I'm not interested i
- Speedy is the best
- I think Princess Diana baers cst too much.THE Princess was generous and kind. Now people are selling them for 500 bucks. THE BB is supposed to be there for us to rember her by, not to spend a fourtune on it.
- THE MCDONALD'S TEENIE BEANIES ARE BACK! THE NEW ONES ARE: BONES, BONGO, DOBY, HAPPY, INCH, MEL, PEANUT, PINCHERS, SCOOP, TWIGS, WADDLE, AND ZIP!
- I dislike that the only way to get Princess the bear is through raffles (which I never win)
- I would like very much to see all retailers that are selling to secondary market dropped from their Ty account......
- I just hate the fact that retailers hold the beanies back or really inflate their prices. They should all sell for $5.00-$10.00 but no more than that!!!! I wish I had an address or phone number to turn in one of our local retailers who had Princess for sale last week for $300!!!!
- I own maybe 3 beanies and anyone who spends their whole life collecting them for $ not just cuz you think one is cute or something are really dumb!
- I think Ty will make lots more TY-dyed animals because they are so popular a TY-dyed cat, rabbit, or even bird the TY-dyed ones are the best
- I'm trying to collect every bird beanie and I only need 2 more and everyone charges way too much money for any BB that's retired
- I hear that Bones, Crunch, Gracie, Squealer, Twigs,
- TY WARNER SHOULD SEND REPS. TO STORES THAT ARE AUTHORIZED DEALERS TO ENSURE THAT THEY ARE NOT PRICE GOUGING. WHEN CAUGHT, THEY SHOULD STOP THEIR ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY
- Retailers cannot act as a secondary market, because then the whole masket will crash. I believe it will be the beginning of the end for Beanies.
- I hate the fact that I haven't been able to find a Erin Bear anywhere in my area.
- I think they should make a hyena beanie baby
- I think that it is discusting that people sell Erin and princess for so much money I am only a kid and can't afford them. And I am very disapointed
- I think that people should leave ty retailers ALONE! If we choose to sell ERIN at 700.00 it is our choice! Can't afford it? GET ANOTHER HOBBY!
- I think all the bunnies, Blizzard, Gracie, and Nanook are going to retire.
- Retailers cannot act as a secondary market, because then the whole masket will crash. I believe it will be the beginning of the end for Beanies.
- i THINK IT IS SERIOUSLY WRONG FOR PEOPLE TO CHARGE $300 FOR PRINCESS AND ERIN WHEN THEY BUY THEM FOR THE SAME PRICE AS ALL THE REST. THEY'RE NOT EVEN REITRED.
- I dislike it when adults come to stores and take almost every beanie baby there. That has happened to my friend and I before and my friend hadn't yet decided which one she wanted and was disappointed. I also dislike it when stores that sell beanie babies charge outrageous prices for ones such as Princess and Erin.
- It is a fun hobby for both my wife and I and something we can do together. We both have become very interested and hope "the phenomenon" lasts for many years to come !!
- I only started collecting December '97. Princess was my big purchase then. $250 for an authorized Ty dealer. That action and the fact that I was trying so hard to finish my collection of currents before the Dec.24 retiirement. I went all over looking for retailers. Some told me I never got this one, or that one, or I only got 21 not 36, or it never came in. I realized that I had to got to stores twice a day and to call or I would always miss the delivery time. No one would hold one for me. I start
d buying extra's guessing the retirement. I was wrong on all counts there Dec.24. But I was able to know shich stores on my circuit had the current retired in stock. I went back on Jan 2 and purchased as many as I could get. I still have most of them as there is a glut on the market place. I went to a Beanie Show in January to look for some of the retired that I did not have. I bought 97 Teddy for $30 at that time and a few currents like Mystic. I saw trades and prices that I wish I knew enought to buy
but at the time I thought it was crazy. It was. But Maple for $115 or Libearty at $250 look awful good about now. I have done three shows since March. No great shakes. I think I buy more than I sell. I have to do better or my credit card companies with devour me.
- Could someone please list the nine original beanie babies for me? It would be strongly appreciated. Also, I think that Ty should come out with an Emerald the Peacock-Holly Martin, Fort Worth, Texas, age 14.
- I love Beanies, and I wish the secondary market, especially the greedy people that want more and more $$ should be stopped..
- I don't like the way stores sell beanies for silent auction, it not fair to kids who don't have that much money.
- I think that the next 10 beanies that are going to retire are Claude, Spinner, Crunch, Strut, Coarse mane-Tan horned Mystic, Chocolate, Daisy, Pinchers, Gobbles, and coarse mane-no star Derby. Also, could someone please list the nine original beanie babie
- I think Beanie Babies will be around for a long, long time!
- There are several that I would like to see come out. For instance, why not have a Ptera the Pteradactyl? They could release her with a special re-release of the dinosaurs. And then, there's Terry, the black teddy with golden embroidered halo (on her chest) in honor of Mother Theresa. I've got many ideas, but I don't know how to submit them to the correct people...
- i enjoy the bb webpage alot. Please find me a princess bear, i have seen her but for $200 dollars and more. i want to find one alot cheaper than that. Can u help me?
- i love erin and princess and i wish that i could have every beanie but they are too expensive
- I LOVE TY® BEANIE BABIES! They are the best!!!!!! Thanks Ty Warner!!
- I love beanies and so do my 2 kids. I am now frustrated and disgusted by what retailers are requiring consumers to do/purchase in order to get access to beanies - i.e. in my town we had to purchase 3 pillow pals to buy 1 new beanie at $7.50. $37.50 for
- I thinkthat the next 10 beanies that are going to retire are Claude, Spinner, Crunch, Strut, Coarse mane-Tan horned Mystic, Chocolate, Daisy, Pinchers, Gobbles, and coarse mane-no star Derby.
- I wish I had more and people are paying way too much on them.
- I wish stores would get more timely delivery of orders and be apprised in advance as to what they are getting. I guess better communication between retailers and TY.
- I would like to see more new beanies.
- Beanie Babies will stay forever
- I really like beanie babies because they are not a very expencive hobby!!! Thanks
- A TeenieBeanie Bear from McDonalds
- I just collect them for my grandchildren. I wish that the retail stores would quit hiking up the prices and put their stock out on the shelves. It is getting impossible sometimes to get them. My grandchildren love them so I keep putting myself through this.
- I collect for family. I have a knack for finding them. I hate what the "collectors" market has done: kept Beanis from children by overpricing them. TY should flood the market to kill the greedy collectors.
- Beanies are great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Their so cute!
- no
- I heard all currents should be under $5, even Erin, and it makes me mad that some are $255.
- The greediness of retailers
- I love how there are so many different animals. That's what makes it so fun; getting all the different beanies.
- I think that as you collect more beanies, you start to have all of them. Then all you can do is sit and wait till the next ones come out. I also don't think the prices for some of the beanies like princess and erin is fair.
- I LOVE ALL MY BEANIES
- I want PEACE!!!
- It is sad how greedy some people are, especially when all children should be able to enjoy these wonderful collectables.
- Not enough Princess Bears for Di Fans
- I never thought I would collect these myself...but they are too cute!
- I take STRONG objection to TY retailers selling at secondary market prices!
- I think people who sell beanie babies for over 15 dollors are wrong..I saw a orange digger with no tag for $395.00
- I take STRONG objection to TY retailers selling at secondary market prices!
- I'm very disappointed in many of my local retailers. Many have blatently told me that they intend to keep their stock of Princess and Erin bears for themselves or are selling them for between $25 - $200 to the public. This is unconscionable!
- In general, the secondary market does add a value to the beanie baby market. However, some secondary market retailers and Ty accounts are consumed with a wave of greed. In my travels throughout the US, I have come upon far more than one Ty retailer selling Erin and Princess for well over $100 each. When asked if this money is going to be donated to charity, the reponse is most often, "No." I don't mind paying more for retired beanie babies from secondary market sellers. It is sad to see so many people
locked from acquiring these wonderful beanies as they are going to only the wealthiest of customers. That is sad.
- I Love Beanies.
- I think they should have a day where the ty factory sells old retired beanie babies for their original prices in stores.
- I hate it when people sell a $2.00 beanie babie for $2000
- i'd like to see a set of deer--jane doe & shawn the fawn ?
- This "phenomenon" has gotten out of hand; however, i do believe that some of the beanie babies have a great significance.
- I don't like the way some retailers sell beanies, they keep them for themselves or resale them for a lot more than $5.00. I think they all should be price the same retire, new or special ones like Princess and Erin.
- I have an Idea on storage for beanie babies,I hope I'm not repeating somesone else's Idea but here goes.It is an over the door shoe organizer holds up to 8 pairs of shoes or 16 beanie babies,it has clear pockets,it measures 45" long x 19" wide,it comes fully assembled. It has a heavy fabric backing. What I plan to do is get another one and sew them together and string them across a wall and if someones wall is big enough do three.I bought mine at a dollar general store for $5.00.Not to expensive and with
the money I save I can buy more beanie.I hope this helps.Signed Mary Anne. Whimsie@juno.com
- Need to make more Princess bears beacause I think everyone should be able to have/afford one in memory of Princess Diana.
- I have an Idea on storage for beanie babies,I hope I
- i hate that the currents like princess and erin sell for 150.00$ but i love the variety of beanie babies
- I think TY should set a limit of $5 when bought at a primary retailer
- I
- I'M HAVING FUN- KEEP THEM COMING.
- I think TY should set a limit of $5 when bought at a primary retailer
- I could not afford to keep buying if I could not resell some for a profit. It just allows me more money to spend on more beanies. It's the most fun I have had collecting ever!!!
- I just think this thing is getting way to greedy!! Look at the people who wrote that "BEANIE BABY HANDBOOK!" by Les and Sue Fox they admitted in their book to going around to 500 or so McDonald's for the teenie beanie promo! That's sick! SHAME SHAME SHAME!!! Now folks are asking 300 for a set of $20.00 mini beenies my child would love a set but who can't forget groceries for a month to buy dolls? I'm no different than other mother's I want to get what my child asks for {he get's good grades, has manners
and obey's his mother} but that's way out of range!! Thank God PRINCESS sounds sissy to him because their is a mortgage payment that I need to make first!!!!!!!!!!
- I HAVE FOUND DEALERS (STORES) THAT SAID THEY HAD TO SEND THEIR ERIN AND PRINCESS BEARS BACK TO THE MAIN WAREHOUSE TO WAIT AND SEE IF THEY SHOULD HOLD THEM AND SELL THEM AT A HIGHER PRICE. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN DEALER OF TY BEANIE BABIES AND I DON'T THINK THAT IS FAIR.
- Cool, See Ya, Go Peace
- I don't like it when they raise the price because then nobody will probably buy them.
- No I Won't
- The selling of the Princess Bear got way out of hand. All the bears that were sold over the retail price - the profits did not always make it the Princess Diana foundation or a local community charity. Princess Diana would have been very disappointed in the behavior of some people just to make money on that particular bear. The Erin bear pricing has gotten way out of hand. Children can not even afford to purchase either of these two bears. The fun is in collecting them not in the profit that is t
be made from them. Hopefully these two bears will become more available to purchase at a reasonable dollar amount.
- I love the beanie craze, but I do think Ty needs to do more about the retailers charging these unbelievable prices and the lies they tell. I have a store in Columbia, SC that is wonderful to deal with, They don't sell to the secodary market and they have kept the prices at 5.95, every time you make a purchase in the store you enter into a drawing for Princess and Erin when they come in, it works great because thier customers get the special ones.
- I think people should be notified of what beanie babies are going to retire in the next month or so.
- I wish it were more affordable to collect beanies.
- I heard that pounce may retire because it is the name ao f cat food. I also hesrd the same about blizzard because of Dairy Queen. I love collecting ty beanies, but SOME of the adults are too greedy and mean about beanies!!!
- My biggest complanint about Beanie Babies is that the stores that purchase BB and resale as a secondary market price. At this rate we will never be able to buy BB at $5.00
- I heard that pounce may retire because it is the name ao f cat food. I also hesrd the same about blizzard because of Dairy Queen. I love collecting ty beanies, but SOME of the adults are too greedy and mean about beanies!!!
- when you retire them let it be a suprise
- I think Ty should come out with a grey wolf beanie baby.
- I am curious to see if Erin or Princess will become worth a lot.
- beanie babie collecting has helped my depression. I have not taken anti depression drugs for months since I started collecting beanie babies.
- I am not near my collection right now so I'm not sure if I picked the right bunny as my favorite. My favorite is the pink one, I think it's hoppity. My second favorite is Stretch. I just adore that ostrich! Boo-hiss on the retailers that jack up the prices on "hard to find" currents. Retired beanies, it is great to still find them at 5.99 but I understand if they feel like they absolutely have to make the extra profit and capitalize on it. But in that circumstance they need to sell directly to a
econdary dealer. It is very disheartening to go searching for the freshly retired and find it in the shipment and have an automatic inflation. But they should not affect the impact of a new beanie (current-hard to find) to the consumer.
- Some retailers charge WAY-WAY too much!!
- I love BBs
- I'm new to this and am having a hard time with knowing who I should buy from. I cant find them in stores near me, so I'm surfing the net for them. I'm concerned about buying from just anyone, and some are just soooo overpriced.
- we need a wolfe next
- I think Beanies are the best thing on the market.
- i live in pennsylvania, and i like the fact that i can pretty much walk into any store and find one i don't have, and princess is sold for the lowest of $100! all in all beanies are cute.
- Iggyandrainbowtagsaremixedup
- I WISH THEY WERE MORE READILY AVAILABLE.....12 TO A STORE JUST DOESN'T GIVE SOME OF US WORKING FOLKS A CHANCE AT EVER GETTING ONE....THX
- I like BB's that are bugs and Dinosaurs.
- I have Erin, Garica, and others to trade for Maple and Brittania. BeaniezBB@aol.com
- I hate how companies are feeding off of Ty's success!
- I think you should make a biger variety of more animals. Plus make a specil beanie baby
- Son paid $35 for Peace from his birthday money, other than that we have not paid more than $16, we collected entire set of currents and 5 retireds within two weeks, started collecting March 29th after attending a beanie show.
- need more bears in the market they are to hard to find at the f#$@ moment. so would some one get a brain at ty
- I just need an Erin for my collection at a reasonable price
- I Love Beanie Babies!!!
- I hate 2nd hand marketers!!!
- The company TY should watch for what happens to the beanies once they send them to the store. Every place around sells beanies for higher than the retail 5$-6$, and these corrupt dealers should be dropped!!!
- we dont like limited productions, or retailers selling Princess for $100+!!!!
- BORING!!!!!
- I dislike the stores that up the price on new babies
- no
- I think Ty should supply more becasue theres like 30stores by me I can call but its a pain and I have a very hard time trying to get new ones and I spend up to $20 trying ot get them before they retire!
- If you want details on the Iggy/Rainbow thing, email me at Candie4evr@aol.com
- visit beanie4ever: http://members.aol.com/SmartyKid
- Iggy and Rainbow are not mistagged, the fabrics are reversed. Look up a chameleon and an iguana in an encyclopedia, Iggy is actually a chameleon and rainbow is an iguana. iguana's have the spikes on their backs, and chameleons have the ring around their neck. check it out!
- I would like beanie babies to be more cheaper. PLEASE. IONLY HAVE 23
- I don't like shops that tell you that they don't have Erin or Princess for sale and you hear from a friend that they bought one form a store that had them behind the counter.
- I predict Ears is going to retire.
- they are alright
- I would like it if the beanies from other countries(Maple and Brittania) were sold in the U.S.
- TY WARNER SHOULD FLOOD THE MARKET WITH PRINCESS AND ERIN IN ORDER TO KEEP THE SECONDARY MARKET PRICES FROM BECOMING OUTLANDISH !!!! WHILE THERE ARE MANY OF THESE BEARS AT THE SHOWS I HAVE YET TO FIND ANY AT LOCAL SHOPS WHERE THEY COULD BE BOUGHT FOR 6.00 ...
- I hope Beanie Babies go on forever!
- I would like to see Beanies accessible to kids.
- I love these little babies and I even enjoy the thrill of beanie chasing. I also like people like "Beanie Mom" wwho help to keep us informed. and the people I've met on the net. I do not like people who are scam artists, fakes. People who aren't honest, and are only in this for the God almighty dollar and don't care who they hurt. fortunately I have found more nice, fun , cooperative, friendly, and honest people than dishonest and nasty. I believe this beanie mania is for all ages collecting, lovi
g, adopting, and they sure don't eat much and they are very desirable little critters. How can anyone resist the looks on those Bears? Or for that matter on any of Mr. Warners irresistable Babies. I will continue to collect as long as I remember not to lose sight of what feels right and what feels wrong. I hope I will always follow my heart and do my trading, collecting and selling in a way that I will be able to lie my head down at night and dream of Beanie angels and not beanie nightmares. I would lo
e ty to make a beanie angel to remind all our beanie lovers that there is more to life than $$signs and that love and doing right by one another will continue to make this fun instead of making enemies we can make an angel connection with our brothers and sisters that enjoy trading, buying and even selling. I always keep Valentino and Peace by my computer when on the net. Need I say more. None of us are perfect, but can't we strive for better. Thanks ty for giving me a toy I can enjoy even at my age.
- my daughter and i really enjoy collecting beanies. I wish they were easier to find at good prices. we usually pay 5.95 but have seen even current ones priced very high. I will no longer pay more than 5.95.
- I really think the high prices for the Erin and Princess are wrong the kids will never be able to get them
- I LIKE THAT YOU CAN GET JUST ABOUT ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT IF YOU HAVE THE MONEY. BUT I DONT LIKE THAT THE ONES I WANT ALWAYS JUMP IN PRICE WHILE I'M PONDERING BUYING THEM!
- Trend will continue, secondary market will get greedier
- We need more dealers in Yuma, AZ!!!!
- I hate to see BB's being sold for $12.95 when that is against Ty's wishes.
- I love beanies but I think that adults need to get a life. These are STUFFED ANIMALS - they're toys. Toys are meant for kids and we can't have them if adults are scrambling to put them in tupperware. We just want to play with them.
- Beanies are for the childern and were made popular by them, and WAS something they could afford. Adults and sellers should remember this.
- i wish it was easier to get retireds!!!!
- I enjoy collecting beanies but some are way over priced
- I live in Ca. It is hard at best to aquire the ones that I want. Most places want you to buy from there store just to qualify for a place in there drawings. (Erin, Princess etc). I would like to be able to obtain one, but I won't put out that kind of money when I know that they won't send all that money to charity. I have seen a price of up to 300.00 just for Erin. It makes it kind of hard on those of us who can't afford that. I loves my bb very much, and I probably will never sale one. But they
are fun to share with the Grandchildren. I guess I would say to all the folks out there charging huge amounts of money for these addorable creatures, ( you were born without feelings.) I just want to say Thank You to all you fair dealing stores out there. I truly appreciate your honesty and caring. Cam
- I have found that McDonalds is going to produce several new beanie babies (mini)
- I Loooooooooooooove Beanies! Beanies are awesome!
- Good Page
- I think THAT THE PEOPLE WHO SELL SHOULD NOT CHEAT PEOPLE BY SELLING A CURRENT BEANIE FOR 100 dOLLARS IT IS WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS CHEATS LITTLE KIDS tHE PORPOSE OF BEANIES IS SO KIDS CAN USE THEIR ALLOWANCE TO BUY IT BY THATMSELVES. THE ADULTS ARE RUINING THE SAYING cHILDREN FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LET KIDS HAVE SOMETHING FOR ONCE IN THEIR LIFES WHILE THEIR STILL KIDS BE A KID THING. FROM ALLIE NAGEL
- a peach colored bear would be great
- I don't like that it is so difficult to obtain Princess or Erin and that retailers and private people ask outrageous prices for them. Raffles for charity are fine, but not just for the retailers pocket, especially when after you "win" you then have to pay $10 to $15 for it.
- a peach colored bear would be great
- I wonder how long this craze will go on and the prices skyrocketing?
- I hate the way retailers(ones we thought were "good ones") are selling Princess & Erin for so much money making the secondary market values skyrocket. And these same retailers selling out the backdoor to known seconday market people.
- I detest the secondary market dealers who are buying directly from retailers (I was in a store in Cedar Rapids, Iowa yesterday and the owner had no problem displaying beanies in the original plastic bags that are shipped to retail dealers.) This store was then quadrupaling the sales price, when you know darn well they purchased them for $6 or less!!!!!
- I have 52 beanies & love them all. I have 3 or 4 retireds.
- I first purchased Beanie Babies as gifts for family and friends, now they're collecting along with me. It's not fair that the so called "rich people" are able to get Princess and Erin when the rest of us can't.
- Ty really needs to take control of their product. Some of these prices are getting out of hand. The stores that sell straight to secondary market SHOULD LOSE THEIR ACCOUNTS!
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!
- BEANIES ROCK
- very hard to find in britain
- No, but you're making great beanie babies
- I think that adults have driven the prices way to high so that kids such as myself can't get them! It's so frustrating, but I also would like to commmend the people who let kids have the first say in Beanie buying. I think that Beanies aren't just a trend, but rather a collectible.
- beanies are fun to collect but this is getting rediculous
- I think that beanies should be more reasonably priced. The high prices make them unavailable to kids, who should really own beanies
- Why do people have to be so greedy? I just don't understand.
- I am hoping ty goes through with the restraint on retailer prices. I have been looking for Princess and Erin for a long time. And when I do find them they are at least 80 and up! (The 80 dollars being Princess.) If you feel the same way as me, please e-mail me with your thoughts. Here is my address: Betsy3000@AOL.com
- I find it hard to explain to my son why we can't afford to buy him Princess at the local Hallmark store. It breaks my heart to say "I'm sorry, we can't afford it" and watch his heart break at being so close to adding one to his collection. Something should be done about the distributors that are charging outlandish prices for the beanies.
- I love to collect these cute little friends!
- I think that if Ty Werner were to set a strict policy about dealers selling to the 2nd market or themselves taking there stock (selling none at their retail location) and inforce said policy when when the consumer makes the compaint those of us who are true COLLECTORS would have a fair chance at achieving a full collection.
- In a few years a chipmunk will come out
- I think that beanie are wonderful but that the craze is ending soon and that the teanie beanies might ro might not help. You never know with beanies. Also i like how there is such mystery in beanie colloecting because you never know which beanies there are going to retire and what they (TY WARNER) will come up with next. I think that they should make an EEL. That would be very cool. Bye and thanx for the Survey!! have a beanie day!!
- BEANIES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- i collect beanies just for fun-not profit
- Leave the secondary market alone. If it wasnt for the high prices, beanies would not be so popular.
- I think that you should have a chihauha called Chi-Chi
- they are too expensive but sooo adorable!
- I HOPE THAT THEY KNOW HOW MUCH THE PEOPLE LIKE THESE BEANIE BABIES AND THEY SHOULD START TO MAKE BIG BEANIE BABIES LIKE THE PILLOW PALS I THINK PEOPLE WOULD JUST AS ENJOY THEM AS THEY DO THE OTHERS
- It's just FUN!! Plus I may have an addictive personality!!! :-)
- I think that it should be illegle to sell Beanies for over 10 dollars. It is just not fair. They are just cute stuffed toys! Sheesh!
- I collect beanies mainly for my 8 year old daughter. She loves them and I love them. I also buy for many friends and have been known to "give away" a princess, a Peace, even a Garcia to children who do not have them. That is what Beanie Babies are all about --- CHILDREN!!! Caitlin (my daughter) and I collect all beanies and will continue to do so. We love them very very much!!
- Beanie Babies are a fun and cheap (sometimes) hobby, fun to collect and play with, hope the Beanie Babies Phenomenon lasts for a LOOONG time!
- I LOVE THEM !
- I am very upset by the practices of some retailers by not putting all their beanies out at the same price and allowing everyone a chance to obtain them on a first come first serve basis. This has become true in my area for all the new beanies recently re
- I don't understand why people go so crazy over them!
- I would like to see Ty put a stop to retailers uping the prices on their beanies, just because they say they are harder to get. The retailer pays the same price for a common one as they did for a harder to get one. I started collecting after bumble the bee was retired. I would like to see it come out as a teenie beanie. My daughter (6yr) loves that one and I am not able to afford that one for her collection. I also think that retailers should not be able to use their stores as a front and take the spe
ial beanies like Princess, Erin, Peace and sell them on the net. I think that they should have to sell them to the customers that come to their store. I know of may Ty dealers that are not putting them in their stores, just taking them and selling them on the net. It makes it very hard for us parents to get the collections for our kids at a price we can afford. I predict that beanies will be around forever. I believe that Ty has made a great product that is affordable for children to buy and give as gifts
nd as long as there are children, there will be a demand for a great, cute, affordable beanies baby.
- Give me a Princess and /or Erin ?!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!
- They are cute, fuzzy
- I think it is a kick!
- am decorating my babies room (she is due in may) in noah's ark and the beanies are great. what's not great is the hassle of dealing with greedy secondary marketers to get just one beanie i need....
- I would like to see them become more available
- Ther are two paterns to the way Ty retires their "cats", one way is definate the other is indefanate!
- they will be around tomarrow and i will buy them
- I especially enjoy the ty-die and bears. I work the night shift and have a particularly hard time finding my beanies. I drive many miles after work to try to find my beanies, only to learn that the store owner will not sell to me or is auctioning off to the highest bidder. I work at St. Jude who has a gift shop which receives a great deal of beanies, especially the newer ones. They just had Erin for sale for $10.50 and Princess for $20.00, but do you think anyone on the night shift was able to purc
ase these? No. We don't ever know when the idioit that runs the shop is going to put out the beanies. She gets them in and decides at her convenience when she will put them out, therefore I have to drive all over creation to find my beanies. I am fed up with these kind of store people who get a high off of making life difficult for someone who is clearly a dedicated collector.
- I just started, but I think people are crazed about the Princess & Erin. I think they're beautiful, but I can never have one because of how dealers are pushing the price up. I couldn't believe it when I found myself standing in my first line to get a beanie. I'm hooked. I don't like how it's made me hunt for beanies all the time. I think the bunnies and any bear will be good retirement beanies. Like your page...thanks.
- Would be nice if Products like Erin & Princess were more accessible to the general public. Dealers are selling them for big bucks and they are doing to many auctions for them.
- There are too many dealers out there holding on the the teddy's which drives the prices sky-high for collectors
- I think TY should make a greyhound, and, like they did for Princess, should have part of it go to a greyhound fund. Beanie Babies are fun, cute, and exciting to look for. I hope the trend never dies and my children (when I have them) will want to collect also!!
- I don't like that people sell Erin and Princess for such high prices!
- I have an Iggy Iguana with rainbow hang and tush tags. What's up?
- THE GREED OF THE AUTHORIZED DEALERS IS UNPARELLED TO ANYTHING I HAVE EVER SEEN.
- People using the word "mint" for everything and it is not "mint". I think Ty should enforce stores selling over retail, or making you purchase a certain amount in their stores. Ty should have a hotline, or email address where these abuses can be reported. I think Ty will continue to retire one or two original 9 every retirement, plus one or two of the teenies. Look for one or two of the new teenie moms to retire May 1st.
- I am 5 yrs, old, and would really love to have Lefty, but due to all you greedy people I am unable.
- I think bones or rover will retire in May also
- I feel Beanies were meant for children, I have a 5 yr old who really wants Princess but due to greedy people she is unable to have one.
- It's wonderful to have personal investment much better than have money market. you wont lose anything that you have own Beanies babies while investmestment will lose money with cash itself. having BB as investment felt more secruity and will increase all stuff.
- I don't appreciate retailers scalping the consumer on the prices. ex. the Princess & Erin Bear. I also feel that the retailers are taking advantage of the whole situation. There are some very honest retailers out there who sell their beanie for $4.99 & $5.99 and they should be commended for their honesty.
- I feel Beanies were meant for children, I have a 5 yr old who really wants Princess but due to greedy people she is unable to have one.
- It is fun & affordable for people of all ages
- I wish more stores carried them. I also wish Ty had a direct market via internet or mail with which you could use credit cards. I also wish retireds didn't cost so much!
- i really dislike ty dealers who charge $ 150.00 & up for erin and princess or ty retailers who charge $ 50.00 & up for peace
- I think ALL beanies should be at the retail price of $5-8 so everybody can enjoy them(especially children), because that's what it was intended for. Now, children cannot buy the beanies they love. It would be years of allowance to get like a Tusk that was mint! It is not fair that children cannot enjoy the toys that were intended for them.
- THEY'RE TOO ADDICTING
- Doing some research on them, I strongly belive that all covered in white (or nearly covered) shall be retired. All the yellow ones of Quackers color will be retired to, and so will the orange ones of Goldie's color. By the end of the year, all the "Original Nine" will be retired.
- Doing some research on them, I strongly belive that all covered in white (or nearly covered) shall be retired. All the yellow ones of Quackers color will be retired to, and so will the orange ones of Goldie's color. By the end of the year, all the "Original Nine" will be retired.
- stores sell bb at fair price & all beanie babies
- Because of the incredible amount of time and money currently required to collect Beanies, I have decided to sell my collection. It used to be possible to walk into a store and buy a current or sought-after Beanie for $5.00. Not anymore. If you don't have a friend/contact at a Ty retailer, it is almost impossible to obtain "new" Beanies. And if you do see any "new" or hard-to-get Beanies in a store, they're usually priced at $10, $15 and more, sometimes much, much more!!!! There are a lot of gree
y/selfish people out there, and it's gotten out of control.
- I love Beanie Babies!
- i love beanie babies
- It's a great hobby as long as everyone uses the brains God gave them
- I have just gotta have them!!!
- I wish some of the retired weren't so expensive
- its stupid
- I love beanies, but if I try to purchase Seamore he is to much so I will never be able to get him.
- I think that Crunch should be retired next
- I think it is a great family hobby. Something for everyone! However secondary marketers are spoiling the fun for children who do not understand why they charge so much for one or get to buy so many and then there are none left for them to buy.
- It's hard to find recently released beanies that aren't being sold for $15 or up. I have never seen an Erin or Princess for less than $100. I think that stinks!
- I HATE THE WANNA-BE BEANIES
- i hope this never ends. if it dose a lot of people are going to lose
- I am addicted to Beanie Babies!
- Why was it that beanies that made it so big. There has been countless other bean bag animals in the past. Who cares they rule. I got 39.
- I like collecting Beanie Babies. I just hope one day that I will get the Princess Diana Bear I have tried to have bought it, but there sold out and I tried 6 raffels and more beyond this day!! Thanks Erica L.
- They are going to come out with more bears
- Cool Beans
- I think all of the original nine will be retired by the end of 1998.
- My first onw was Lizzy. I did not know about the beanies until I looked on the Internet. Boy, was I surprised to see how many there were!:]
- I think tthat the next retires will be valintino, bongo, patti, & crunch
- Beanie Babies are very fun and I enjoy hunting for them!!
- I think tthat the next retires will be valintino, bongo, & patti
- none
- My fav beanie is Erin the green bear, because my name is Erin, I'm Irish, and my favorite color is green. I would really like to buy Erin but since I'm 13 I can't afford the prices people are selling her for. I think it is really mean that people are selling her for so much money.
- I think anybody who sells beanie babies for the price over 15$ should be arrested
- I hope that Ty does not make any more purposly limited beanies, such as Princess or Erin
- I LOVE TRAP!
- Ty should set specific retire dates; retire more each time; release fewer each time; make more colored teddies; put a cap on how much stores can charge per beanie; dont create situations of incredible demand, ex: Princess, Erin, Peace, Garcia etc.
- I hate The Secondary Market they Are the Greediest people in the world, bb are made for 2.50 $ and now the 2nd ary market 2500 $$
- I think Zip w/white paws will be retired soon because Zip w/white belly and all black Zip have already been retired. All three Nips have been retired, including Nip w/white paws. I am having a hard time finding Zip w/white paws in my area. Also, I think Derby w/coarse mane may retire soon since Derby w/star on forehead has been released.
- I strongly disagree with all the 2ndary market dealers. They are all greedy people who have too much money already, and say they are just doing it for fun, but they are all greedy. Think about it.... why else would they have a bazillion Garcias, and not sell it to me for $5?? WHY WHY WHY?? I am SoooOOOoOOOoOOooO Annoyed with all of them! Why can't I have all the retired beanies for normal price? Why can't people get princess, erin, and all the other current bears for normal price?? I mean, people ju
t pick out a certain beanie and say what " Hmm... I think I'll make a kid angry today, and tell everyone this camel is worth $3,000! Ya that's it! And everyone will believe me! Hey I have a get rich quick scheme, and plus, I can prevent those bratty kids from getting beanies that they have been saving up their monts' allowance toget!, But I can take my trusty credit card, and just snatch it from the kid because they can't do anything about it! Now I'll go tell all the retailers that this one is worth a l
t, so that no one can ever buy a correctly priced beanie again!! HAHAHA!" And the sad part is, is that most of these people are middle-aged women or older! One time, they were pushing me (in October) and screaming for gobbles. HA! But I outsmarted her! I pushed her right back! And the funny thing is, is that she looked at me all bug-eyed! Going thorugh my mind was the golden rule "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"... and that's what the dumb lady got!!
- The whole family enjoys beanies!! I find it distressing that beanies such as Erin and Princess are so expensive. I have a daughter named Erin and was desparate to find one for her. I finally got one for $10. Love your site!!
- beanie babies are so cute
- I'm sick of all these people making stuff up on the net. There's Peach, who I doubt even exists, tye-dye Happy, and lots of other stuff I haven't heard about. Also, some prices are just rediculos. I've seen $750 Lefty & Righty, $200 on Doodle and "only" $150 for Pinky. C'mon! Isn't it crazy?
- I love Beanie Babies and everything that has to do with them. I love the predictions because the upcoming new and retired beanies are a mystery that I want to solve beforehand.(I dislike surprises......unless they're good ones that have to do with Beanie
- don't like having to compete with secondary markets when I really just want to collect them
- I think they should band the people who are selling bbs for a rip-off price
- Beanies are the best!
- Ringo , I hope will be retired in May.
- None
- I'd like to see TY make- Ruby the Cardinal
- Yes I would like to say that I think that these are so cute and I love them and I would also like to say that I think that The secondary maket are to high in there prices and that so of the retailer are going and charging way to much for theres.
- BEANIE BABIES RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I love beanies, but, People buy 20-40 at a time, and their is none left for the kids, that they were made for, the adults should let the kids have some, the ones that beanies were made for!!!!!!!!!!
- You should do more Beanie Baby surveys. I like to fill them out!!! - Erika Hoffman
- I really think Ty should drop retailers who raise prices of retired and hard to find and those that don"t sell ones like Princess and Erin to their customers. The retailers that sell to the secondary market shoud have their accounts dropped.
- I don't like what they've done w. Erin. Ty announces a new item and then only ships a few to each store and even then small stores have to wait months to even get those. No wonder the secondary markets are able to get the prices they are getting. I have 2 children under 12 yrs. who love these toys and are very disappointed when they can't find ones they want and at a price they can afford. Thanks for listening to me!
- I think that pretty soon the beanie babie fad will die and everybody will be stuck with all of these useless creatures!
- I like the search and am pleased that all stores do not sell beanies. However I am upset that beanies such as the Princess draw so much money. I would like to get her but I refuse to pay so much. I am going out today andhope to acquire Erin.
- I AM A CANADIAN AND I WILL NO LONGER BE PURCHASING "ANY" TY PRODUCTS - ANY TY PRODUCTS - YOU TOOK AWAY ALL THE FUN OF TRADING WHEN YOU SHUT CANADA OUT - I AM NO LONGER INTERESTED AND I HOPE A LOT OF OTHER CANADIANS FEEL THE WAY I DO AND THAT IT WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- I detest retailers who raise the prices of a particular beanie just because it is the "flavor of the day."
- It would be nice if Ty would place a price on all Beanies Babies, even if this includes a price on their tag. That way the retailers could not sell them for outragious prices. I also think that Ty should not introduce the Bears unless he can produce them on the market in mass quanties!
- I think that Ty should ship to Australia. If people are getting depressed about how they can't find a beanie at a store. Just think there are NO shops that sell BEANIES in the whole of australia!!!!
- I am saddened that these were taken away from kids. My daughter wants a chops because the birthday is the same. Well at $200, she will probably never get one!!!
- i don't like how expenisve they are
- Well i just wish that the secondaries stores wasnt so much they like to put a high price on things. I just got into this and i buy them for my self and i have paid over a thousand dollars for what i do have . I am trying to catch up but it is almost impossible but i will keep trying just wish it was easier to find all the beanies i want and with a fair price . i think i was crazy to spend 250.00 dollars on the princess bear but i did she was so pretty and i thought it would go to the cause but later i
ound out it didnt .It was only when she first came out . but there is nothing i can do now well thanks alot for listening Michele McIntire Groton Connecticut
- I feel that that retailers should not sell at secondery market prices. And tat TY should try to put a stop to it...
- I am a huge baseball card collector, and I see alot of the same trends. Errors, variations etc. It is strange to see how much they have in common. I just hate the fact that retailers are selling for higher prices than they should. Secondary market is a good thing. It keeps the hobby going. I really think TY should look at what is going on. The only people that could kill the hobby are the greedy retailers. Thanks for you web site. I have learned a ton about beanies.
- I do not like the way TY only sent out 12 Princess bears and Erin bears. I think this was the reason the secondary market went so high on them. Why not make them readily available for all collectors?
- HI!! I love your web site!! Anyway, I am a 10 year old beanie collector. My family and I love these little things but we cannot afford $400.00 for one little bear!!! I have seen Princess & Erin for up to $800.00 each!! I think that RETAILERS ARE GETTING WAY OUT OF HAND!! These beanies are for kids. Sure if adults weren't in this there would be no real value on beanies but so what? Who needs to spend $400.00 on one little bear? If the adults didn't mark up the price, they too wouldn't need to s
end $400.00 for a bear to add to their collection or a Christmas present for their kid. You guys, the adults are the ones that are making it more ex[ensive for yourself. Please think about that.
- Do you have Bessie?? I need a bessie really bad! I collect cows abd I can't find a Bessie for a reasonable price($35-$40). I'm 15, I can only pay so much.
- I would just like to say that BB's are 'da bomb.
- They are coming out and retiring too many. Once I obtained all the current ones, then they release new ones and the process starts all over again. I have stopped collecting because of this and are only concentrating of certain BB's instead of collecting all.
- I love them all and strongly believe that the may retirement will have princess and peace involved!!
- My family and I really enjoy collecting beanie babies
- I dislike how these people try to sell beanie babies for hundreds of dollars each.
- You have an excellent beanie baby site, very imformative!
- I love the tie-dye beanies
- I love beanie babies! About four years ago my mother and I were on vacation and I saw a snake named Slither I just had to have! It was like my Ty pig at home. My mother said that I did not need two beanie babies! After begging she still said NO. To this day I am still mad that she would not let my buy Slither for $5.99!!
- I only wish that when they brought out new ones that they would limit to 3 or 4 at a time not 11 and 12, thats too many to find and it gets expensive.
- I wish people wouldn't be so greedy about how many BB you can buy at a time! They sell them for high prices too!
- I dislike dull colored beanies and like colorful beanies! Next retirement will have Patti and Pinky!
- I love beanie babies.I think they are adorable!
- Beanies are the best. My husband thinks I'm crazy, however, he is now starting to understand the whole phenomenon.
- I enjoy collecting, dislike the greed, secondary sales are the only to get a lot of beanie babies. All the bears should be in the shops for sale & not so scarce, this makes collection a pain instead of a joy.
- i enjoy collecting beanies but i hate hearing people lie about their value. i wish they could be more honest and sell new and current for decent prices.I love your book and web page they help people (like me) who may not know much about beanie babies and who could probaly be easly riped off. thank you very much.
- You should put more Beanies in stores.
- Retire Valentino!!!
- It angers me that the retailers are keeping the new ones (limited quantities) for them selves and/or selling at a higher premium.
- what do you do with this survey?
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!! They are great!!! But I wish people weren't so greedy about them!!!
- it would be nice for retailers to charge the manufactuer's retail price vs their own "greed/market" price.
- Too many people are getting into this!!
- Ithink that everyone tries to rip off everyone else. People selling on the internet are way too high priced, and people buying do not even offer the minimum value of a beanie. How am I supposed to increase my collection if I can't afford the retireds, and the cheap, but greedy people out there don't offer enough?
- Beanies are and should be about kids and adults that love them for their own sake -- I am sickened by the secondary market. Ultimately the outrageous secondary prices will "bottom out" just like they did in the sports card market. I let my kids play with their beanies -- that's what they are for!!
- I love Beanie Babies. I just wish I had thought of them.
- This is a great hobbie and I have met a lot of nice people.
- I think TY should make beanies like they did before, now there making ones that look fake.
- I like bbp. It's okay.
- I love their cute little faces and poems!!!!
- More Dogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- A new bear that is coming out in May is named Peach.
- It really upsets me when retailers sell their shipments directly over the internet or secondary market without offering them to their customers.
- I think retailers selling beanies over priced should be dropped from ty's lists
- I think that happy, zip, lucky, and inky
- I love Beanies but I hate this stinkin' craze!
- I'd like to restate the opinion that any authorized dealer selling secondary or "back door" should be dropped immediately.
- I am still looking for some and they are the most difficutl to find, TY should make more of each model. I think that Blizzard will retire next because I heard a rumor that Dairy Queen may be sueing. I think that TY should try to make a sea urchin beanie!!!
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES
- I dislike stores charging more when they are paying the same as they did in the beginning.
- choclate
- I love collecting for fun, not money. I am in Med school and cannot afford the outragous prices people are asking for Beanies. I mean come on, these guys cost $5, how much profit does one person need? I have no duplicates, nor do I sell Beanies. A secondary market is fine--within limits. When dealers have no concept of the kind of money they are asking for a $5 toy, then I am sad to be a Beanie collector.
- I think beanie babies are groovy, baby!
- new retirements
- I predict the next TeanieBeanies at McDonald's will be a even more popular!
- I'm wondering when it will all come to a crashing halt
- I think the secondary market, and stores who make you buy 200.00 in merchandise to get one beanie is terrible. Flea markets and dealers are bad too. Beanie Baby shows are great. My son and I are getting discouraged because of all the secondary prices. A 5 year old does't understand why one beanie is 500.00.
- I wish there were more Erins and Princesses released so some of us without large funds could purchase them.
- I had no idea that they would be so popular!
- I think Beanie Babys are great, until the greedy adults come along and take all of the cute ones.
- I just wish I could get a Princess and an Erin!!!!
- I think that should make a starfish and a peacock
- I am so angry at the retailers that get Princes or Erin in,lie about having them and then sell them out the back door or on the net were they think we can't find them. I hate secret actions from dealers who pick and chose who they want to win.Sure makes the fun of collecting hard, and sometimes just getting them is hard enough. Love your pages!!!
- Inch is retired.
- On 4/8/98, I purchased Curly and Valentino for $5.95. The previous week I purchased Peace for $19.95. (All from the same Miami store) My brother told me that he knows a retailer that has received 40 Princess bears and has kept them all to sell to the secondary market. He would not give me the name of the store.(I would have informed TY)What Greed!
- I think prices on beanies should go down!!!!!
- better customer service and product reservations for authorized dealers., as it is now you have no idea when and if you will ever receive product that was confirmed in Tys system. Along with maintaining a backorder system that is fair to all merchants
- I think that they should produce more teddy bears so that everyone has a chance to buy them at a decent price. Meaning no more that $10.00 for one. I really think the prices on the teddy bears are ridiculous. -kimmy
- I wish I had started sooner
- I'm frustrated when Retailers jack the prices of their beanie stock to outrageous prices. If they want to sell Stretch for $20 at a Hallmark store, they should just get out of the retail business and start a flea market stand!!!!
- Make a list of beanies!!!!
- I don't like the retailers uping the price on the "bears" because they are new on the market. My daughter was so disappointed when we found out we could not get her an Erin bear (it's her name!) because the stores wanted to sell tickets and make more money rather than just sell them. The same goes for Princess- now that they are going to it out on the market in quantity.
- I'm Elise Larsen! I have some beanie babies! I like them a whole lot. They are very cute. I have 6 and 3 of them are retired. Whoo Hoo! The ones that are retired are Lizzy, Magic, and Velvet. Velvet is my favorite because she cute and soft. And best of all, she has a Magic tush tag. I am interested in selling Velvet. I need to sell her desperatly.I nedd the money so I can buy Chilly the polar bear. I almost have enough nowGH.D
- I realy wish there was some way I could get Erin!
- I feel some people are getting out of hand with the prices they want for a child's toy that originally cost between $5 & $7.
- I buy ONE of each beanie for my son, maybe a few more for friend's kids and nieces. I'm not planning to finance a college education off of this... but It bugs me that if my son is at school and I'm at work earniing money for beanies, by 3:00 pm they're all gone from the stores! Also - how do we help McDonalds get the discarded food to the homeless during what will surely be the next fiasco this Spring?
- I LOVE THE PRODUCT BUT THEY SHOULD HAVE SET PRICES THAT IF ONE STORE IS REQUIRED TO SELL AT 5.99 ALL SHOULD SELL AT THAT PRICE INCLUDING ANY AND ALL BEARS ITS GETTING TO CRAZY OUT HERE.
- My children used to buy all the Beanies after doing a good deed for a neighbor , etc. now they can't even get the ones they are missing. I went to the retailer I always purchase at to get Erin or Princess and he told me he was not going to put them out for under $250.00 each. That's when we decided we were going to sell them all and never buy Ty again. As much as we loved them, The secondary market has ruined them for the children. It's a shame.
- I wish that TY would allow new merchants to purchase beanie babies, a small business owner cannot get them right now.
- There should be a way for people to buy the exclusives easier. For example, Brittania the Bear can't be bought in the United States. We have to have a connection in Europe to purchase it.
- none
- The secondary market has made it difficult for children to buy for themselves with allowance money as Ty Warner had originally intended.
- I work at a toy store that sells them and I am ADDICTED! But I love it!
- I work at a toy store that sells them and I am ADDICTED! But I love it!
- it is too expensive yo buy retired beanie babies
- I REALLY HATE THE GREED I DO BUY FOR CHILDREN SPECIFICALLY AND ADULTS ARE ANIMALS!
- The "phenomenon" is just about over. Look at how the prices for the most recent list of retirees (and some of the Oct. ones) has staggered in the $10 range, while retirees from Jan '97 and May '97 are in the $100-200 range. See a pattern (or a slide) starting?
- I really hate authorized dealers selling beanies for secondary market prices. Current beanies should be found at a resonable price. I wish people would stop buying the current bears for more than $5-7 dollars. If no one were paying $100 to $200+ for Princess and Erin then obviously people would have to lower the price. I wish I could buy directly from Ty through a catalog.
- I have a hard time finding reitred BB's that people aren't selling for an arm and a leg. Ty Warner makes no money off of the secondary selling of BB's. Scalpers who sell BB's for ungodly amounts of money are in it to make money. Ty Warner created Beanies Babies because he it was something that "EVERYONE" could afford. I am a college student and would like Kiwi and Chilly and all the other ones. I have two choices, I can wait till Ty decides to remake them, or wait till the market falls out. Which will
ventually happen. And for all those people that complain about the high prices, if you have ever bought a BB for over 20.00 then you are adding to the high prices. Remember that the prices will remain high as long as people are willing to pay them.
- I think that Ty shoud sell Beanie Babies in Asian countrys espicially Japan because it would be a great hit like Tamagotchies!!!!!
- I really dislike the greed of people who hoard the beanies off the shelves...my daughter collects and would like to be able to find the BB's, but with adults grabbing up the new ones as they hit the shelves she doesn't have a chance to learn to shop for something she saves for--instead I have to grab any she doesn't have when I see them.
- I dislike the retailers that are out there gouging the public with ridiculous retail mark-ups on the beanie babies; which prevents some less fortunate children the opportunity to own particular beanies.
- i do not like retailers who have beanines and refuse to sell them. what are they keeping them for? this particular retailer only puts 5 out of one kind each day and then tells the kids they do not have any. if you know the UPS man like i do, i know they have boxes and boxes. go figure.
- i pray that they stay hot. Mr. warner is a genious.
- I enjoy traveling around looking for beanies everywhere I go. I'm beginning to get frustrated with the secondary market - it does not raise the value of Beanies, it's only making money for some person who does not a conscience! That's all - and there are those of us that are so stupid to pay those enormous price tags.
- I HAVE BEEN HUNTING FOR ALLY
- I dislike the very high prices! I hope the beanies will stay as collectibles! I wish Ty would get more beanies out to everyone!
- I really dislike the fact that I con't complete my collection because of outrageous prices. I ahve an Erin & Princess, but i wouldn't sell them because it would disrupt my collection.
- I just wish that they were easier to find. But, I guess that is a part of their charm.
- I wish that Ty dealers wouldn't sell beanies for such high prices that children cannot afford to buy them!
- I think you should have a certain time of each year where you can buy retired beanie's at a normal price.
- I just love beanies! My friend and I even run our own BB Club! I wish I had all of them!
- I can understand high prices for those that are not being made anymore, but it is rediculous to have such high prices on ones like princess and erin that are new. How do people get more than one of these anyway? I can't seem to find one at a decent price.
- If Ty would just mass produce Erin and Princess, it would discourage the secondary markets and make more available for perople like myself who just want one for their collections. the same with britania and maple - ty knows that crazy people will pay crazy prices. why not make the bears available anywhere inthe world?? I would love a Maple or Britania, but cant afford to pay the exorbitant prices!! i love the bears, but will probably never get to own them all.
- I have heard about these for over 2 yrs. from my friend in Arkansas. On many trips across the United States I looked for her. Last August I actually acquired my 1st two beanie babies at the Dallas airport. When I tried to find more, I really discovered the rareity of these darling creatures. After researching TY Warner, his background and many other things, I decided to invest in these for college tutuions for my 4 granddaughters. As of this date, the appreciation of these are better then the stoc
market. I have only been doing this since last August, but have traveled several thousands of miles and have attended many shows to get the sets for my grandbabies started. I will never be able to afford the older retireds, but am very proud that I am able to put aside these for my precious grandbabies who live over 3,000 miles away from me. Thank you!
- TO ALL YOU COMPLAINERS OUT THERE ON BEANIE PRICES: STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT THE HIGH PRICES ON PRINCESS AND OTHER SUCH BEANIES!!!!!!! THEY ARE COLLECTIBLES!!!!! MEANING THAT THE PRICES ARE GONNA GO UP, BESIDES THAT THE HIGH PRICES ON THE PRINCESS DI BEAR ARE HIGH BECAUSE ITS FOR A PRINCESS DIANA FUND!!!!!!!!! DON'T BE AN IDIOT AND FORGET THAT!!!!!! MORE STORES THAT SELL BEANIES MEANS NOT AS FUN OR ENJOYABLE AT GETTING THEM. IF YOU COULD GO TO WAL-MART AND BUY THEM IT WOULD NOT BE AS SPECIAL!!SOME OF Y
U COMPLAINERS HAVE A RIGHT TO COMPLAIN, BUT OTHERS OF YOU DON'T THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE YOU TYPE. OK i'm calm now i just had to blow off some steam. Ty is the cause of the greedy collectors, Ty leaves the stores with no exact time of when the shipmen will arrive. By the time the shipment is in people are desperate for beanies so they get greedy. Ty shouldn't be that way. Ok lecture is finished

- you should make a FREE price list
- Does anyone know which beanies will retire next and how many? Please e-mail me at pacificwaves@rocketmail.com
- I predict the retirement of Princess and the pastel bunnies
- Secondary market sucks.
- Beanies are great! I think the ty company should think up some new kind of animals for the beanies, instead the same kinds all the time, I'm getting sick of dogs and cats! (I buy them anyway though to complete my collection!) Beanies ae like bunny rabbits, they keep multiplying, you buy a few and prtty soon you have a bunch! Have you heard the rumor on the 12 beanies coming out? And the next 12 teenies? Keep your eyes open! Also I heard a rumor about Peaches the Mother's day bear coming out, how bout y
u? See Ya, and good luck on beanie baby hunting!!!!
- I thoroughly dislike the way merchants are handling the sales of Princess and Erin. They are making them too costly to buy.
- I feel that some people are too critical of all retailers when it is only a select few who are abusing there accessibility to the beanie babies. I would never pay more than 20 dollars for a beanie. they're only stuffed with beads not gold.
- 11 Retireds will happen and I know which ones for sure!!! I have a freind that works at Ty and he says Ty Warner has putten out clues on which ones will retire next!!! I have spotted 11 clues ( a clue per beanie) so far so I know there will be 11 retired beanies
- I like all of the cool books and newspaper articles!
- I personally do not like the ty died. Want them to look more natural.
- I wish the shops could get their orders in on a regular basis.
- I would like to become a Ty Representative can you help me with this Info? Thank you
- They should try to lower the price on beanies for a while, or have a sale.
- It is unfair how some stores have received many shipments of Erin and Princess and others have not at all.
- AS I SAID IN THE SURVEY, RETAILERS ARE VERY GREEDY AND THEY SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO MAKE LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY ON AN ITEM THAT THEY ONLY PAY $2.50 FOR OR EVEN $3.00 TOPS. IT HAS BEEN REALLY FUN COLLECTING ALL OF THESE FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN BUT I PAID THROUGH THE NOSE TO GET PRINCESS AND ERIN TO FINISH THE 2 SETS THAT I HAVE. AND ITS PEOPLE LIKE ME THAT DON'T SAY NO AND THAT'S WHAT MAKES THE PRICES KEEP GOING UP. THANK YOU PAM
- I wish I could get Princess, Erin, Maple, and Brittania!!!
- store prices are way too high!
- I would like to be able to purchase Maple & Brittania. I've heard the bunny trio will retire, crunch, gracie, bones & squeeler.
- I get so fed up wit counterfits and way over priced beanie babies
- I enjoy collecting beanies, its the fun of the hunt. I wish that new beanies (princess, erin) werent sold on the secondary market for so much. Retireds can go for as much money as they can get though.
- I think that they should retire Erin (and no I'm not one of those greedy people who has it and just wants all of the money for myself.) I believe that it should retire because it was born an St. Patrick's day so I think that it should retire at least before the year is over so they can make a new special edition every year like they could make a new years bear or something. I think the same thing should happen with Princess I think that a beanie should be born every year to remember one of our greatest
losses of the year.
- I think there should be a Blue teddy named Elvis and it should have a bolt of white lightning on it's chest and then it should have TCB like Elvis Presley design.
- I really think Pouch should retire because the joey is a chocking hazard to smanll children.
- Although the rapid escalation in value intrigues me I still feel like this was designed for children to enjoy and I absolutely hate the greedy people keeping the children from getting a favorite beanie.
- I love Beanie Babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Collecting beanies is something my 13 year old daughter and myself enjoy together and it gives us special time together when we go out to get them
- I hate people who make there living selling 1 high priced beanies per week... TAX FREE!!
- When changes are made to a beanie, the previous beanie should be listed as a retired to avoid confusion
- I think that Peace will retire soon. He is very over rated and hard to find. I wish that they would make more Princesses since if Diana knew of this she would want everyone to be able to have one to enjoy. She was a sharing and giving person.. if she was still here things would've been different! NE ways, I love TY!
- I mostly buy thses toys for my children and their friends. I am disgusted with the secondary market. these were meant to be children's toys not collectables. It really bothers me that TY allows mass hysteria on BB like Princess and Erin by limiting the amount they send and hinting to early retirement of these products to increase their values on the secondary market.
- I think that Ty should set up a number system so that the selling of fake beanies would lessen, I have an idea of how exactly he could do it but the explination is to long to type here. BEANIES ARE GREAT!!!
- Beanies are Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- They are too expensive. Ty Warner puposely makes them so hard to find so everybofy is so upset and paying over 1000 dollars for a single stupid Beanie Babie whan Ty Warner is making $BIG BUCKS$. I have refused to buy anymore Beanie Babies untill this maddness stops, so I can get Princess, Erin, etc. for about 7 dollars or less! Thanks-Lauren
- You should definitely invent a collie Beanie!
- I was very disappointed at the fact that no one (in my salary range) was able to purchase a Princess bear without taking out a small loan! This is completely ridiculous. They are really getting out of hand when they just start out selling for $250. Give them a chance to grow in value without blowing it out of proportion in the beginning. They're so far out of reach now, I'll never have an Erin or Princess.
- I know a retailer that orders from Ty, and she is selling Erin for $189.00 because she says if she doesnt, someone else will.. this really makes me mad, since she is receiving the product directly from Ty.
- dont like the prices on the secondary market
- Beanies are cool, althought they ARE getting a little out of control
- Since I am not one to follow UPS trucks or stalk stores, I can't keep up with the new ones. I'm ready to give up. The fun is gone, when you can't walk into a store and just find them. Only those on stores' special customer lists are getting the BB's in metro Denver these days.
- I would like to see Princess mass produced!
- I appreciate the retail stores that sell the product at the original price rather than gouging the public for maximum profit. I shop those stores and will not buy from street vendors and secondary market s.
- These things are awesome
- It's amazing that a little sack of plastic bean pellets in the form of an animal can fetch you so much money!
- I love beanies.I used to have a lot of fun collecting until princess, erin,&brittania came out, people are so greedy askinf hundres for them.I don't mind paying a little extra but $200+ for a current beanie is just crazy. As far as retirement i think maybe gracie, crunch, pinky, spike,&crunch will go but ty always seems to retire the least expected.I sure hope they don't retire princess or erin soon since a lot of people have not got the chance to buy them yet.
- THE SECONDARY MARKET IS GETTING TO GREEDY. BB STARTED OUT AFFORDABLE FOR CHILDREN AND NOW THEY CAN'T AFFORD THEM. GIVE THEM BACK TO THE KIDS!!
- I am just so sick of the Secondary Market and their "better than thou" attitudes when trying to trade. I am also sick of certain Retailers (Ellen's It's Country, Chesapeake, VA (757) 548-2615) that will receive a shipment from TY and not put them out for sale until she checks the internet for pricing. Other than that, I love collecting them for my niece and now myself. I get such a satisfying feeling when I find something she wants.
- the secondary market should be stopped. any dealer caught driving prices up should be dropped.
- Beanie have no where to go but down hill!
- Itwould be nice if we could find them more.
- stop GREEDY store owners !!!
- I like the fact that they appeal to my boys. Finally, stuffed animals that weren't too girlish or babyish for boys to appreciate.
- they here to sta
- mail order would be wonderful for us seniors
- I know this isn't a popular opinion BUT: the high prices on the secondary market is what keeps the value of our collections high and exciting. If erin and princess were all over every toys r us shelf for $4.99, they would just be another stuffed animal. Yes, it is a collection, but how many of you collect beansprouts? Not many, because they are everywhere, readily available. Scarcity and priciness breeds desire.
- Would like Ty to conduct a contest w/winner receiving particular beanie, with special notation, on new beanies to manufacture
- I am having so much fun doing this...My kids think I am crazy, but secretly they are intrigued, they just do not think it is Cool to admit it.
- ty is going to kill itself with the kind of stuff that is happening with Erin. The first time I can't get a new beanie, I will be done collecting them.
- I don't think Ty should retire Beanie Babies.
- I am hopelessly addicted to beanies. I even want all the ones I used to think were ugly - I now think they're cute. They're all cute! Someone stop me before I go broke! Oh, and I just got Princess for retail price at my favourite store, so don't lose hope!
- I predict the Beanie fad to last no more than two years. I've seen this type of rapid fad growth with the beer cans of the 70s, Cabbage patch kids of the 80s and even that silly Pet Rock back in the late 70s. Billy beer can is still worth 25 cents today. The second McDonalds series this summer will cause another rapid growth in the regular beanie babies can all the retired beanies from May 1997 and eariler will increase in value. This will turn off many of the new collectors and the fad will dissolve b
late 1999.
- I dont like the fact that retailers are charging 15.00 for new BB and getting away with it.
- I think that Ty needs to make a more varied line of Beanies. The secondary market should get a grip and not be so greedy.
- I WOULD LIKE THE RETAILERS TO SELL THEM FOR THE PRICE THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO SELL THEM FOR
- I would like to see better availability and second hand dealers need to be restricted, because they always seem to know exactly when stores will have beanies and some ow they seem to get beanies before they are even released.
- DO NOT OVER PRODUCE
- I feel like it's an addiction to find one at a good price. You can find them for high prices anywhere, but when you come across a place that sells them for a retail price, that's exciting. I need to be less addicted to this craze.
- Wish the bears were more available at better prices, I've only been able to find one at a reasonable price, and it was still the most expensive of all the ones I have. I would love to have more, but can't afford to.
- Retailer stock is getting extremely limited and I dislike that they are selling "hard-to-finds"/popular beanies for excessive premiums.
- I FEEL LIKE THE BEANIE BABIES SUCH AS PRINCESS AND ERIN SHOULD BE AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC WITHOUT HAVING TO GO TO THE SECONDARY MARKET. RETAILERS ARE NOT PUTTING THEM ON THE SHELVES AND ARE SELLING ABOVE THE SUGGESTED RETAIL PRICE IF THEY DO PUT THEM ON THE SHELF.
- It's lots of fun, and everyone enjoys them; I'm in for the long run.
- I do not like the fact that there are a large amount of retail stores selling beanie babies for secondary market price. They are doing this because they think they can get away with it. A beanie babie that has not been sold at retail price, should not be sold at collector value.
- I don't like that people sell Erin so high just because he's a teddy!
- I'm really sadden by those people who are greety and buy their BB's for regular prices or low prices and resell them for hundreds of dollars!!! Like they are now doing with Princess, & Erin. I wish that this wasn't allowed at all specially at Ty's official home page. This is so sad. Specially to those people like me who are trying to buy just one for their collecttion.
- I wish it was easier to tell which retailers were authorized to sell BB's and which are actually secondary resalers using their business as a little Beanie store.
- I've been collecting for several months and keep hearing "horror" stories about how mercenary beaniephiles are. I haven't seen any of this! Only nice people who love to talk about their beanies, their kids' beanies, where they got them, who's next to retire. I've met a lot of really nice people, both retail and secondary. I have so much fun, I forget to eat! I do wish there was more information and less cute graphics on ty.com - it takes so long to load!
- I wish it would not be so costly and difficult to obtain beanies for my children. I have two little girls who each desire her own set of beanies. So far I have been able to do this - often at a greater price that I would like to pay. I disagree with retailers who charge exorbitant prices for beanies which were intended to make children happy. I have been guilty of paying $60 for each of the American Trio a year ago, but I only bought one each of that era because it was just too expensive to buy 2 c
ops, kiwis, diggers, etc. Initially, I thought it was stupid and was glad my children weren't involved -- but when they brought home all A's on their report cards and said, "Mommy, can we collect beanies?" it was the beginning of my beanie downfall. I have become just as hooked as the next mom. I would like to have a complete set for each of them but that will never be possible, especially when Erin is so out of reach financially for most people. Where do these dealers get bags of Princess and Erin b
ars from. I went to a collectible show and was in awe of the dealers who seemed to have an unending supply of these very hard to find beanies. How does this happen and how are they allowed to charge the amounts they do? Anyway, I could probably go on indefinitely, but children and homework call. Thanks .
- It is so addictive!!!! I laughed at my co-workers for collecting at first, and soon I fell head-first into the craze.
- Ty should go to selling direct to the consumer
- I think the rtetailers should limit what they sell to people that they know are going to sell them on the secondary market.
- I like going to the BB shows to trade and buy. I hope the fake ones are stopped or controlled so it won't hurt the hobby too much. I , of course hope the bottom does not fall out at some point!
- BEANIES ARE ADORABLE!! THEY HELP MY 4 YEAR OLDS LEARN THEIR BEGINNING LETTER SOUNDS IN MY PRESCHOOL CLASSROOM!! THEY ARE A MOTIVATIOAL EDUCATIONAL TOOL !! THANK YOU ty!!!
- I know some retailers and employees are buying the stock up and not putting them out for customers. Also, I do not mind having to purchase something in order to buy a beanie baby which some retailers are asking you to do now,
- You should send out 100's of Erins,Princesses to stores. And Maple and Brittania's to USA
- Beanie-Babies are AWESOME!!!
- Beanies are the best!
- It's dumb to sell beanie babies.Weren't they made to just cuddle and play with?
- I LOVE IT!!!!!!
- I think that the beanie babies have been a huge succses and i hope to ad to my collection
- I hate beanies you people are stupid for collecting them
- don't feel it is right that you can't get some of the beanies for the kids, like princess and erin
- Love all of them, but wish that the new ones were more readily available.
- Great site
- DO NOT LET RETAILERS SELL ON 2ND MARKET
- I think that Spike, Valentino, Ears, Floppity,Patti, Pinchers, Gracie, Rover and Crunch will retire
- I don't respect adults that are greedy in buying them at the expense of children who may just want to buy one or two.
- Just having a great time collecting..
- i think people should not be so greedy especially second market dealers, they should at least SHARE with the children!!!
- I feel 2nd'ary dealers are way too greedy with prices and not giving others a chance to enjoy beenies. It has become a "who has money can play. Others step aside. We're greedy."
- I will never understand why collectors don't realize they set their own market, and I think Ty should stop disguising itself and pretending to be a "toy" manufacturer since they are obviously only making these items for the secondary market and not for children as was the intent of the person who conceived the original idea of a "beanie baby". This person wanted to make an inexpensive, well-made toy available to children who could not afford more expensive toys. Unfortunately, greed always wins out o
er good intentions.
- I would like to see them come out with a deer, I love the beanies and the never ending hunt.
- One other retirement I think will happen soon is the retirement of the Bunny Trio
- They are da bomb!
- cool
- I don't think that reatailers selling Beanies should be able to sell them for a higher price if they are popular and hard to get!
- beanies rule! I think that they should not cost so much though and adults should let kids have a chance at them!
- I think it's great that beanies give so much joy. I've been in a childrens hospital for the past year and little kids love them, including myself!
- I wish that retired ones weren't so expensive.
- Is this an old list? I did not check all but I noticed Strectch, Squealer & Waddle were not on list.
- I HATE retailers who ALWAYS raffle off Erin, Princess, Peace and Valentino. Most don't go to the trouble to even pretend the money is for charity. It is for their greedy little pockets and they are not even embarrased about it. If they don't raffle them they either auction them off or make you buy tons of other stuff to get the chance to even buy one.
- when the BB business goes under in 15 years or so, the BBs will be worth more as collector's items then ever.
- Sure hope the market for beanies continues. The ones that I heard are retiring May 1 are all four bunnies, Claude the crab, Erin the Bear, Blizzard the white tiger, Pounce the cat. However, rumors are rumors and Ty will do whatever he wants to. Also heard there is a Mother's Day bear coming out but then heard it was to be the larger pillow Ty. Sure wish Princess and Erin were more readily available. A short story. Went to a neighborhood florist last week to see what they had for beanies. They ha
3 Peace Bears each with a bouquet at $35 per one. But she said they had had Princess bears with bouquets and they had only lasted one hour--I asked the price--she said $35!
- I enjoy collecting beanies for my children, but have become very dissatisfied w/the current aggressive behavior and greed I have seen in my community related to beanies. A lot of this is the secondary market people, some is from the collectors and worst of all the retailers who continue to raise their prices and sell the new releases to secondary market people or put them up for sale (on the internet, etc) themselves. If this type of behavior is continued I think there will be a lot of individuals, lik
myself who will not continue to collect these beanies. I enjoy getting beanies and trading them, so I hope this situation gets better in the future! Thanks.
- these are my predictions on retirement 5/1/98 zip, valentino, daisy, bones, gobbles, derby, smoochy, batty & spinner

- I think the Canadian embargo STINKS! this is where I go to get beanies! now what??? I can't buy beanies here in the US!
- I love your beanies and so does'nt my counslur!!!
- I would really like Erin. She is the only beanie I need in my collection. And I mean ONLY.
- I think that the bunny trio Zip Bernie Bones Quackers and a few others will retire next. I think that retailers shouldn't be able to sell currents for over $7! Beanies are so cute!!!!!!
- Never dreamed it would be like it is.
- I think all beanies should be available to everyone. There are never any princess, erin, maple, etc. as the owners of the shops either keep them to sell on the secondary market, or all the employees take them all first. Afterall they were supposed to be there for the children to by. This way ,they can't get them at all.
- I just recently became addicted to beanies. I think they are great fun, real cute, and a good investment. I just wish I had more money to spend on them! Oh how I would love to have Trap and humphrey!!!!!
- i think inch or pinchers will rertie soon becuase there so easy to find
- I predict that even if the Beanie Babies stop being made that that will make them even more valuable.
- I hate how Ty retires them so quickly because they are so hard to find!
- I believe the Beanies are impregnated with an addictive substance (air borne!) :-). I dislike the blatent control of the qty/per BB produced by Ty. It's a little too god like. For example, if the market is flooded with Princess bears after Hallmark has sold them for $200 per, people will be far less Ty/BB-minded & rightly so. It would show bad faith on Ty's part. It is somewhat like Mattell issueing a L/E Barbie & then flooding the market w/millions of the same doll, forcing the price down from list to
75% below list! I've switched from new Barbies to Gene dolls because of this
