- the beanie market sells beanies for too much money.
- I dislike greedy Ty dealers that charge different prices for different Beanies depending on their popularity.
- I WISH THE NEW BEANIES WOULD GET TO THE STORES QUICKER
- I really enjoy collecting beanie babies. My only complaint would have to be the authorized retailers not putting out all their stock, selling to secondaries, and selling BB's for ourageous prices. Overall, I would like to say that most BB retailers are pretty honest and shouldn't be classified in with the dishonest ones.
- would like a seahorse,tortishell cat,starfish
- Beanies are getting way too expensive!
- I dislike how people up the prices on the currents including the new ones
- I think more and more people are collecting. I hope Ty continues to limit production, release/retire new/old ones regularly.
- wise and fortune will retire early
- why cant canadians join the official ty beanie club
- Beanies are sold for way too high on the secondary market. Those people are sooo greedy. Beanie Babies Rule!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I hate when people rip off the tags!
- I wish they wouldn't limit the bears all the time. The bears are my favorites and it seems they always make them the limited edition ones. I know I will never get a Princess, Erin or Glory, because I REFUSE to pay the more than $7.00 for a beanie.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!! THEY ARE THE BEST!!
- I think you should sell them in places other than the US and China
- I think their great and they definatly are withstanding the test of time
- For highly -sought -after Beanies like erin, Princess, and Peace, I hate how some stores are greedy and sell them for hundreds while other places sell them for 4.99. It's too much of a gap, and that bugs me so much!
- Visit my site at http://www.welovebeanies.com
- prices too high on the bears
- I hate them so much, I love them. I even dream about them at night. Buying, looking, cataloging anything you could possibly do with them, I dream about.
- Is it fair for authorized dealers to call their friends rather than to sell to the average customer first???
- Keep prices affordable... Beanies should still be for kids!
- this sucks!
- flea market/crafters hoarding them for resale and big profit have stopped the common consumer from being able to walk into a store and purchase the most resent releases and have made people absolute idiots over it!
- I went to a Hallmark store to look at beanies when I heard this guy say "hun I just got the last Curly. Give me a break. The store was giving out free beanies for the person who purchest 4 or more beanies to get ready for the new ones.he store
- I really like beanies but who really cares what it is worth. I don't!!!e
- Beanie Babies are cool. Davy and I have 99 of them and my mom has about 15
- resent stores raising prices on currents, or new beanies.
- I feel that Hallmark stores and other sellers of Beanies (not secondary) should be required to sell for 5.00 and should not be allowed to put the beanies behind a shelf or put a limit on them
- I feel that Hallmark stores and other sellers of Beanies (not secondary) should be required to sell for 5.00 and should not be allowed to put the beanies behind a shelf or put a limit on them
- I'm very upset that so many dealers are (knowingly OR unknowingly) dealing with counterfeit Beanies. I went to a Beanie Show today and found NOT ONE Scottie that didn't have a suspicious looking set of tags and fur. It would be so much nicer if you never had to worry whether a Beanie was genuine or fake. Greed of the market is all that caused it.
- I LOVE BEANIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I want Erin!!
- some beanies are priced way too high, they are just bean bags!
- I hate the people who get them just to make money....
- Remember beanies were made for children not greedy adults just in it for money.
- i would like to see a starfish in the next release.
- I like the way Ty retires and brings out new Beanie Babies on a regular basis. It continues to interest more new collectors and stimulate the interest of veteran collectors.
- I like the fun of finding and collecting the beanies. I hope they are not flooding the market now with too many.
- adults too greedy--Beanies should be for kids as they were designed.
- On the Ty guestbook dealers have dozens of 1 baby for sale and Ty does nothing about it, any idea on when and if that will change? Those of us who collect for fun can't even get near a dealer with a new shipment - but the secondary market is flooded. What's the deal. Also, can't seem to find any info on Ty- no phone - no e-mail that will respond intelligently - please advise.
- I dislike the high resale prices for those of us who just want the beanies for our kids.
- I dislike the high prices that other retailers are allowed to charge the consumer.
- i like it very much.
- sick of these TY Dealers selling there bears at 50-150 for each one
- I regret not knowing about them sooner, so that I could get some of the retired ones going for high prices
- i like that i could invest and get money . they are also cute.
- I WISH FOR BUBBLES! I saved my money for 10 weeks only to find out his price had been rased! I'm only 12 ! It's not faor!
- I think Beanies have been the best toy fad EVER!!! I want them to stay around for a long long time! But the problem is that some people are too greedy!
- I never thought I'd get hooked, but I did.
- You guys Rule !!!!! I love Beanie Babies (even though I only have 14) I wish They didn't go retired!!!!
- I like that I can buy them for low prices. (Some of them.) I also like the way they feel in my hands. I don't like how scarce some of them are in some areas and how people are paying such high prices to get them. The man from Ty who invented them made them for enjoyment. I don't like when I hear about people who sell counterfeits. Overall I love beanie babies and I love your website. Keep up the good work!
- My son told me to sell what I have. Once the fad is on the cover of USA today, its on the way out. Go figure.
- I think there are still to many disreputable ty authorized dealers
- i believe that in ways this is totally ridiculous to spend over $8 on any beanie baby. If you can afford over $8 like many of us can good for you but why waste $60 on one beanie that you can't even use for other things other then sitting on a shelf or hidden away hoping just hoping values go up. I love this craze for beanies yet hate it
- Do not give retailers such a bad name. Although the Ty site says that retailers are to sell no beanie for over $5, Ty reps are encouraging their dealers to raise prices on retired beanies and other "desirable" beanies such as erin, princess, etc.
- I think there should be a price restriction on certain items. Other wise i love beanies!!
- I dislike the QVC sale of Erin and Diana for 299.00
- retire them only once a year! make new ones only twice a year!!!
- I think that the Beanie Baby Phenomenon is great, but sometimes it just pushes people too far. I don't think anybody would pay up to $4,000.00 for one beanie baby. Some collectors are way to greedy, setting abnormal and dishonest prices, and buying hordes of Beanie Babies when found. I strongly disagree with Les and Sue Fox in their Beanie Baby Handbood, which says something about "stashing away 10-15 of a type of Beanie Baby for a good investment in the future". This is not the purpose of Beanie B
bies, for greedy people to make money and cheat people. The purpose of these Beanies is to make small children happy, with a cute toy that is fun to play with and inexpensive at the same time. Shame on greedy, selfish second hand dealers.
- I think there really cool!!!!!
- I Think it is a Shame to Pay Secondary prices for princess and the Money does not go to the Charities as was intended.
- I really love Glory The Bear!!!
- Something has to be done about the dealers selling them on the secondary mkt BEFORE placing them in their stores. Its not right, and it creates too much of a frenzy when trying to purchase one beanie for your collection. Example: at Ebay ONE Fortune the Panda just sold for $75.00 I bought mine for $7.99 and do not plan to resell. Dealers are creating this demand for beanies, Ty is also not helping with holding back on certain ones. Thats how I feel. I love
eanies, they are too cute! But for the regular kid who is trying to collect them, what are the adults teaching them by causing a ruckus every time a new batch comes out? I have seen children in tears over not being able to get that one beanie they want. Its very sad.
- I love beanies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- it will be around for a while yet
- Only kids should buy them
- you need to make more dinos
- I have found out that most children who collect Beanie Babies have about 20-30. (Class survey.)
- I am not a "stuff" person, but love the Beanies.
- They should lower some prices on retired and new beanies
- I don't coolect BB's. If I see one in a store that I like, I'll get it, but only if it's cheap. I won't but the ones that cost $10 or over. I think it's stupid to waste you'r money like that becuase One day soon, the trend will die, after you've spent thousands of dollars to collect these things, and then you won't like them anymore. Thats whay I think they're stupid to collect. I only have 4 of them and I bought them all at $5. Thanx. -Not a BB's collector- NJ
- I was wondering if you could try to find out a place in Massachusetts where I could find Grunt the razorback because he has mostly the same birthday as me and I really really love him and could you do the same with Peeking the bear he is my absoulte faveroite.
- I don't like when the "new" ones come out that retailers (secondary) only will sell them in sets. I think they should be able to be purchased individually.
- i like beanies except they're not that cute for 8,ooo dollars
- more bears for us that missed out on the colored ones.
- i love beanies and collect them because i like them. i think there are way to many people going crazy over them!
- I don't think that people should sell Erin and Princess for more then $10.00.
- People need to know how to contact ty if they have created a beanie baby. I personaly need to know how to.
- I dislike the games many dealers play in selling their beanies, such as the Ty Rep told me these were hard to finds and to charge more for them.
- Punish counterfeiters. Every store should carry Beanie Babies. There should be counterfeit detectors.
- I've been collecting for 2 weeks and I have 54 beanies! The '98 tbb got me hooked!
- I have met so many very nice people and have so much fun collecting. I just wish the stores would quit with all the raffles!!!
- I think that the secondary market is good because it makes it easy to find hard to get beanies, however, authorized retailers should not be allowed to buy all the product and sell to secondary markets. Come on, have fun with this, don't go crazy!!!!
- I wish secoundary market people would start finding something else to buy to resell!!!!!!!!!
- I think this will eventually die down but enjoy buying beanie babies because they are very cute..a friend of mine from Chicago got me started when she gave me Kiwi in Dec of 1996 for Xmas..I havent stopped buying since..just acquired Princess!
- I think all stores should start selling Beanie Babies!!!
- I dislike people who buy all that they can just so they can sell them and make money from people who can't find them at the regular price
- I think that the primary dealers should really sell their beanies at the suggested retail price. Instead they hold out the beanies they think is going to make them more money (princess and erin) and you just can't afford them!
- I think Erin& prinncess will retier next if not decrease in price
- beanie babies rule
- I think that every Beanie you buy should come with a tag protector
- I LOVE THE BEANIES I DONT LIKE IT IF I GET FAKE ONES... OTHER THAN THAT THERE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I WANT TRACKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Beanie Babies Rule!!!
- BB are the BEST!!!!!!
- I dislike that TY has new releases and then it takes so long for you to find them. TY should not anounce that they are releasing new ones until they are ready to ship them.
- I don't like how right when new bears come out they're so exspencive.
- i want price guildes to show value on the internet plus i think you should sell all of them you can because they are becoming to fancy and exspensive
- anybody should be able to get retired ones for less money!
- I LOVE TY WARNER! I LOVE BEANIES!
- I think some of the beanie babies' prices are TOO high. I mean, some are as high as $2,000! It's not fair for kids that they have to buy it for SO much. I think there should be a sale that sells Erin for like $25, Princess for $20, Peace for $15, Humphrey for $300, Trap for $250, Garcia for $45, Bronty for $200, etc. for KIDS ONLY so the secondary market merchants can't buy it and sell it 10 times more the reasonable price. If Ty wants to earn more money, why don't they just "welcome" a few of the po
ular TOO expensive reitreds into the current world (like add about 100,000 more) and then sell them for a more reasonable price?" I mean, I could just buy a $2 regular stuff animal instead of paying for a $1,000 beanie baby. Or I could just make one myself. If this is how Ty makes profits, I'd say they are really greedy. It's REALLY UNFAIR for kids that can't afford a $90 Erin or a $2000 Humphrey or a $50 Magic, or a $30 Cubbie, or a $60 Princess, or a $25 Goldie
- next to retire...Peace, Curly, Princess, Chocolate
- Well, I think the issue price is a good deal, but I think too hard to get ones that are retired. There should be a BIG sale once in a while to help those who can't afford some really cute retired ones. For example, I'm willing to pay about $900 for Trap, but every store I've been to sell them for $1,200. I don't like it when some of the beanies' prices jump WAY TO HIGH and WAY TOO FAST. (like Princess, Erin, Grunt.. etc)
- The beanies are cute, but they are sold for to much.
- I couldn't choose what type of beanie I like to collect like domestic, fish, dinos, because I like them all!
- The beanies are cute
- Our Beanie collection was originally started just as gifts, however my daughter and I love them sooo much we just can't seem to get enough of them fast enough. I liked the one question on the survey I would love to start a beanie related business. My daughter and I make all kind of neat things for our beanies I would love to see some of them copy righted. I would also like to see some of the very first Beanies re-released like the dinosaurs and such. I was never able to find any of them and I would lov
to start a collection of the prehistoric Beanies for my Grandson. He is 2 and simply loves dinosaurs!
- I love beanies, but I get them as presents mostly. I probably would never pay more than $6.
- I think that the people who have accounts should have a certaint price on the beanies because alot of kids want them and they can't by them if they are to expensive.
- I don't like how difficult it is to find the bears. It is especially annoying to see them so expensive when you do find them.
- Beanie babies are for kids to collect and play with not for adults who have nothing better to do that buy them all and overcharge for them on the secondary market.
- I wish they were easier to get and that adults would not be so greedy.
- I'm addicted and there so darn cute!!!
- Why doesn't Ty produce more Beanie babies of each kind? Ty would make more $$, kids would have an easier time getting them, and secondary market prices would drop. I don't think it is fair that retailers keep many beanies for themselves and don't even put them out when Ty's shipments arrive so that they can sell them on the secondary market. I wish Ty would make another white seal - even if it has another name, I'd buy it!
- I think that the Beanie Baby phenomena will be over within 2 years.
- I have a Rainbow with an Iggy tag!
- Check out the new tush tags found on the newer shipments of beanies.
- I just bought an Erin for $5.25 a few days ago and I am very proud of my purchase. I never like to pay over $10.00 on a beanie.
- DONTLIKE HOW BEANIE BUYERS ARE TREATED IN STORES,LIKE WE AREA BOTHER TO HAVE IN THEIR STORE.
- Collecting beanies has been a fun family activity. Would love to use them to pay for my son's college tuition in 10 years...but if they lose their value, his kids or a hospital's pediatric unit will enjoy them!
- have them improved for the future
- I would like to see "Tyrific" store franchises in Malls so we could do away with unethical sale prices of beanie babies. I would buy a franchise from Ty and abide by their rules.
- the secondary prices are way to high and Ty should stop sending beanie babies to the stores that they know are selling them too high.
- I am having such a hard time finding different stores in the Dallas/Mesquite area that sell the babies and when the new ones come out. I don't understand how quite a few people know the stores and when they are going to get the new ones. I need some help on this matter. I am a single mom and can't afford to spend alot on these adorable babies.
- I HATE the fact that children rarely get the opportunity to purchase these because of the greedy resellers. I would LOVE it if TY would offer catalogs to the children and let them order directly from the company, with a one order per type of beanie limit, maybe having children register with TY with a birth cerificate and/or SS#.
- I JUST WANNA SAY I LUV BEANIES
- i think wise is next to go because he's dated
- Ya know peace Bear? Well you should make an orange bear with the Hanson logo in the corner like the peace sign(copyrighted)-Annie Clark
- In Canada good prices are at Neat Stuff the store located in Fairview Kithener, Ontario
- I imagine that soon the craze might start to die down a bit, but not right away!
- I think that the retired BBs should cost less money.
- I like that they are a non violent toy that kids and adults can enjoy.
- Peace Sh
- n/a
- I think the secondary market people are greedy and selfish because they want all the "money". They should have to sell them for the original prices. I can make beanie babies for TY in exchange for some retired beanies. I think the next retirements should be Princess, Blizzard, Chocolate,Curly, Maple, Patti, Quackers, and Twigs.
- I have 3 presses beanies and got them for $5.95 each. got them in tenisse
- I think beanie babies for collectors are akin to Barbie lovers when I was a child. It created a bond between friends and was really fun!
- They should Make Guinea Pig Beanie
- glory the bear is good.
- I mainly get these for my 5 year old, I refuse to pay over $5 a piece for one!! The "collectors" have made this very difficult!! I find myself buying other brands instead of ty because of the price!!
- I HAVE 2 CONGO'S ,THEY HAVE DIFFERENT FEATURES,SWING TAGS ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT,AND TUSH TAGS ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT.....COULD YOU SHEAD SOME LIGHT ON WHY,OR WHAT EACH IS WORTH???????
- I love beanies!
- I dislike the prices on retired beanies. A store nearby me has Flutter,Bronty ,Rex, Steg and many others for $1300. It's ridiculous!
- I am new at this and am still learning.
- Its hard to decide which beanie babie is my favorite. I like all of them
- i Iove beanies
- CANT FIND PRINCESS & ERIN!!!!
- OLD & Middle aged women buying beanies either for themselves or two resell
- I love getting beanies for my son. I dislike not being able to find them at a current price.
- Obviously all the beanies will be retired someday
- I don't think it is fair for retailers to hold the bears for special promotions. Like they only sell the bears once a month and to get one you have to buy 4 other beanies to buy a bear. I also don't think it's right for retailers to run specials like spend 100.00 in my store and you can get a bear. I think they should put the bears out when they come in so everyone has a chance to get one.
- I wish that anyone would sell beanies for the market price for once!
-
- I know an authorized dealer who just got in the New beanies, he doesnt put them on the shelf, rather he sells them to a secondary merchant for 6.99 each and this secondary merchant is then selling them to us for $30.- $40.00 Now thats not fair to us, and these authorized dalers who do "Back Door" Deals should be dropped from TY.
- I don't buy beanies that cost too much!
- I really enjoy collecting them. My boyfriend also enjoys buying them for me because they are inexpensive and cute. I only hope that they stay inexpensive because this is especially for the children and if they get to expensive the children will not be able to buy them.
- it's crazy but it sure is fun :P
- I really enjoy collecting them. My boyfriend also enjoys buying them for me because they are inexpensive and cute. I only hope that they stay inexpensive because this is especially for the children and if they get to expensive the children will not be able to buy them.
- bears should be made easier to get.
- I'd like to be able to get Princess and Erin but it doesn't look possible. I'm not lucky enough to get my name drawn at the local Hallmark store here.
- many collectors are greedy, fighting over toys-COME ON-i've seen adults push kids out of the way to get at them-isn't this supposed to be fun
- Cool
- dislike retail selling for more.
- We just wanted to say that we think that beanies are sooo cute. We also think that , yes, they are collector items, but who were they really created for in the first place? Kids....RIGHT!! Little children can't afford to buy expensive ones.
- I dislike the fact that some retailers and marketers are so GREEDY....children cannot get the ones they want! I think it is terrible that retailers sell their stock not in their stores, but online or at shows where they can inflate the prices tremendously. And the secondary marketers are WAY too greedy. Bring the beanies back to the children!!! Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to express these opinions! :)
- PEOPLE ARE WAY TO GREEDY WITH THIS BEANNIE BABY THING. I THOUGHT THESE WERE FOR THE KIDS. CHILDREN CAN'T EVEN EFFORD TO BUY THEM WHEN THE SECONDARY MARKET BUYS ALL OF THEM UP AT THE STORES. IF PEOPLE WOULD STOP PAYING OUTRAGEOUS PRICES, MAYBE THE CHILDREN WOULD GET SOME BEANNIE BABYS TO.
- I like fair and honest dealers, dislike those that sell "most wanted" beanies out the back door, or take them to the shows and sell at an increased price instead of to their customers
- i like your servey that is realy informative
- I'M GOING INTO BEANIE RETAILING RETIREDS FOR $6 WOW!!
- ANYONE WANT TO SELL ME ANY BBs?!!!??!?!
- BB-movies,cartoons,commercials love them
- I wish TY would sell directly to charitable organizations. I say this because Beanies are so very popular that they make gre successful one doesn't want to have to pay retail to start!at fundraisers - but for fundraisers to be truly
- I hate stores that sell for more then $5.99. I have found in my travels alot of good stores, but one great one in particualr. They even call me whenever they got beanies in!
- Although the bb phenomenon appears to be constantly growing, I'd never count on making thousands in the bb market. It could crash without warning overnight. Remember the Cabbage Patch Kid craze?
- would like more dogs to buy
- The secondary market is ruining this fun hobby for everyone that truly enjoys for the real reason....
- i think beanie baby phenomenon is a great idea. I have no idea what they are going to retire. That's what makes it fun!
- I love Beanies, I dislike how the retailers here treat customers looking for bears, they keep them put back for friends and relatives, and they cannot be purchased, if they can be they are unaffordable $50-100 each. A child of age 3 cannot buy a $50 animal, makes me ill sometimes. I will be very surprised to ever see Glory Bear for sale anywhere here where I live : (
- I think that the winning trainer, owner, and jockey of next year's Kentucky Derby should recieve Derby. I also think that more "IP" cats should be made.
- I do not like the attitudes of some of the collectors. It's dog eat dog!!
- Please do something to stop the outragous prices, on the secondary market!
- I like the way their poems tell about themselves, but in some stores they cost a lot of money.
- Prices are way too high, &150-300 is way too much for a stuffed animal ment for kids.
- I think that you will come out with a new animal beanie soon, like a mountain lion, or a line of baby beanies, like lion cubs or kittens or puppies. I think that there should be a line of new baby beanie babies
- I love collecting, but find it very difficult sense I only have weekends and everyone gets their shipments on weekdays!!!
- my kids have me addicted to the cute little things!!!
- Thank the powers that be that you came along! What a phenomenon, and an affordable one as well! I firmly believe that beanies are here to stay, no matter what some people think: they're too firmly ensconced in the hearts (and pocketbooks!) of the popula
- I think that Princess will retire within the next 2 months because Diana's birthday and deathdate are both coming up soon and TY isn't getting any profit from Princess it is a fund.
- Please send my friend info on bbs to trade or sell for good prices. BeBuck@ibm.net
- It really makes me mad when an authorized dealer sells some of their beanies for $40 or more.
- none
- beanies are cute but people get way too into them!!! why would somebody who had half a brain buy a bean bag for over ten dollars?
- I wish when a beanie baby is not retired, it is not sold for more than the usual price, about 5-10 dollars, e.g. Princess and Erin
- people are selling beanies WAY too high, they are just bean bags!!
- none
- to many adults spoiling childrens fun
- My first choice is being able to buy the TBB in authorized stores.
- The secondary market is a good place to find the old, old, old, retireds. Don't pay the ridiculous prices on Erin and Princess.
- I think they all should sell for $10 or less
- I think that if the secondary market weren't here then there would have never been a beanie craze. The avaliablity of these beanies make it funner to collect. You don't have to nescessarly buy from those overpriced secondary merchants. Just give it time and you will find the beanie you want. Hey, I found my Princess!
- great questions they were easy to anwser
- the secondary market keeps the thrill of the hunt for the perfect beanie alive and keeps value up, but i don't think authorized retailers should sell in bulk to secondary market or raise their prices to match the secondary market
- GOTTEN CRAZY
- I really enjoy Beanies. They are a great hobby and I can't wait to get the new ones.I really want Jabber and Fetch. I don't like retailers who charge more than they are supposed to.They should sell them for the price they have agreed upon with Ty.It really upsets the kids to go to the strore and then not be able to purchase because the price has been jacked up. Ex: The Wildlife Co. does this. Question, does the new Golden,Fetch, remind anyone of Spunky? Thanks for listening.
- I am upset that after I have spent hundreds of dollars at one particular store, exhibiting MY loyalty, they no longer call me when they get in shipments. Now that beanies are so hot they don't need to bring in more buyers, so what happened to loyalty? I never bought a beanie at another store if I could get it at my primary store. I am quite miffed.
- the secondary market is outragous but i am forced to participate in order to complete my set
- I do not like it when authorized Ty dealers sell certain current beanies well over $6.00.
- Wish more new one would come out.
- I don't see a foreseeable end to this crazy phenomenon!
- I'd like to see more sea creatures and more ty-dyed beanies
- more erins to be made
- I'm thinking anteaters. Not just any old anteater. "Ants the Anteater." Talk about original designs!
- A bird. Maybe a cockatoo. Call it "Kuku"
- I wish that some of these Hallmarks would not sell Beanies for more then $7.00. They were meant to be cheap animals. One Hallmark in my area sells ALL Beanies, retired or new for $4.99. I will go there rather then anywhere.
- no
- sabortooth tiger
- My daughter is on the beanie baby incentive plan. She earns beanie babies by completing extra school works. The beauty of this is that it motivates her to do extra work, and she seems to treasure the "earned" beanie babies a little bit more than the gift
- My daughter is on the beanie baby incentive program. For x amount of additional school work (i.e. reading to me every night, finishing a supplemental workbook), she receives a beanie baby. It works wonderfully. The best thing is that she really treasurest
- I think eventually they are going to become like baseball cards and the value will drop enormously.
- I like the fund raising for the Princess bear
- i like the fact that a few good retailers are still selling bb for $6.00
- EEks! Where will it all end!
- Beanie Babies are here to stay
- Insanity for Glory and Fortune!
- Beanie Babies are here to stay
- would like to see a "cougar" Beanie Baby
- i dont like how some stores have lists and yet i ask to get on one and they say its a 2 year wait!!
- no
- I just like the thrill of the search!
- i don't like the bears
- I just like the thrill of the search!
- I honestly believe the beanie babies craze is nearly over and that the mrket will crash very shortly. Mu opinion is based on the fact that TY did not retire Princess and has promised that she will be available in all stores at $5.99 or so. This has caused those who paid $100, 200 or more to say, "that's it, no more beanies." Since that announcement by TY it can be tracked that the entire secondary market has crashed and once the secondary market crashes then the retail appeal will disappear very qui
kly thereafter. As a former advertising executive, I believe the retailers need to do something very creative to keep the interest in beanies alive, and there should be a national coalition for some kind of marketing ideas. I have many, and know instinctively that if a marketing plan is not activated, the product that has been so many retailers' bread and butter will just go away. TY doesn't give a rip, he was smart enough to know the industry backlash by not retiring Princess. Frankly, I believe his m
rketing strategy has shifted to gradually getting away from the beanies and out of them altogether by 2000.
- I buy from TY dealers only and have had to pay 400,150,215, for princess and erin and 15 for new releases I don't feel the dealers should be able to raise the prices llike this. They are the biggest reason for the price gouging in alot of the secondary market sellers.I can't sell something for less than I pay for it. And many of them are selling directly to secondary market so customers have no chance to get them. I know of six dealers right in my area that eaither price jump or sell to chanel 17 tv st
tion for them to sell at high prices thanks
- It is very hard for the people who like to collect the bears to get any, especially those of us who work. I would like to see a fairer issueance of the bears. I love how the Beanie Babies bring the children out in everyone.
- Send Wildlife Orangutans BB to Retailers ASAP
- I think Ty should send shipments on a regular basis to their retailers. Our local store didn't receive shipments for months! and now is getting all their old orders. Bad business.
- I most dislike the rude, rude people in lines or who are rude to the salespeople. I believe these are for the children and those of us who are young at heart. I hate seeing the huge prices for the secondary markets and the unavailability of the bears.
- Beanie Babies are here to Stay
- Some of the adults are way too mean and pushy collectors. It really gives Beanie Collectors a bad image.
- The only thing I dislike is that the beanies are made in China, I would be willing to pay more for ones made in U.S.A. C. Martin
- BEANIES ARE GREAT. I DO THINK THAT THE SECONDARY MARKET PRICES ARE EXTREMELY HIGH. EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BUY THESE CUTE LITTLE TOYS, BUT NOT ALL CAN AFFORD WHEN THE PRICES ARE OUTRAGEOUS! I THINK THE BEANIE CRAZE WILL GO ON FOR A LONG TIME.
- I do not like the greedy people who hoard the secondary market. They make it so difficult for the children and adults who collect for the joy of it.
- It's a health,inexpensive hobby for everyone
- I enjoy collecting Beanies for myself and my grandchildren. I hope the market stays competitive but affordable.
- I am enjoying myself thoroughly.
- I think adults are ruining this as an affordable collectable for children.
- I wish the bears were easier to find at the lower prices!!
- Lots of fun looking for certain beanies. Dislike rude people who push and shove to get there ahead of you. Also dislike secondary dealers who charge outlandish prices for beanies that you can get at 5.00 to 7.00.
- I have received 53 beenies and 11 teenie beenies from my mother as a present to my newborn daughter. I will be selling them to pay for my daughters college tuition when she goes. My question is will this craze make beenies more vaulauble in 20 years or will it just die completly? confused the dad.
- stop the secondary market's
- I love beanies and only wish that I had started collecting sooner, so that I had the older ones.
- dislike secondary market prices!
- It is so frustrating to constantly lose out on purchasing an Erin bear for my daughter (whose name is Erin). If the people who camp out in front of a store beginning at 3:00 a.m. were doing it for their children, then I wouldn't have as big a problem with it. These people don't care about the toy - all they are interested in is the profit they will make when they turn around and sell it for $200. It is really sad that children have to miss out on having a toy that they will truly treasure because of
greedy adults!! And now for a word about McDonald's teenie beanies - it made me so angry to see people walk out of McDonald's with their precious toys and think nothing about throwing away all that food. Shame on you! Admittedly, McDonald's could have offered to sell them without the food and all that waste wouldn't have happened.
- The dealers Men and Women trying to make money have not made it fun for the kids that just want to collect. We are unable to spend that kind of money ! ! ! !
- I absolutly love the TY BB's!!I would like to buy 18 more though..Including the new ones that are coming out.Thay are GREAT!!!!
- wish I could find more of them
- I love BBs how come I can't find any barTy is greedy!!!!!!
- create more unusual animals, a buffalo, a mule, an angel fish, etc.
- The secondary market is important to the long term success of beanies, however, I'm apposed to Ty retailors selling out the back door or selling beanies for more than $8. Everyone should be able to purchase BB for $6-8$ and then if you want to sell them for higher that's your choice and the purchasers choice. Hope it lasts it's a lot of fun!
- I don't think TY should only release 12 of one type to a business like they did with Erin. Princess is understandable, but Erin is just another bear.
- There should be second and third editions of the original BBs so that people can own BBs they like, or ones they believe are cute for a lesser price, of course.
- I think the Willows by BelAir in elk grove is an exellent store th eowner sells them for 5.99 for everybody.
- unfair prices that some of the stores charge . They are telling people that certain BB are retired before they really are. And the limited supply of certain bears the stores horde them
- I love Beanies, I am new to the craze and don't care about their investment value, I just wish I could find the ones I want such as Erin, Libearty, Maple, Peace, etc. And the retireds are TOO expensive. I'd love Righty and Lefty along with some others, but I'm afraid it will never happen.
- I wish TY would flood the market, maybe then my kids could get an Erin, Princess or Maple for the price in which they were intended. They are allowed one of each, they remove the tag, then play and love them for the toys they are!
- I would like to see the prices being lowered on the secondary market, i mean kids are getting ripped off! I mean they see a beanie they like and it's from $100-$300 dollars, now kids don't have that knid of money!
- First of all I think that if you counterfeit beanies you are SCUM also I have an idea for a beanie that everyone would want called angel the bear it's a white teddy with irridecent angel wings and a silver ribbon if anyone from TY is reading this please consider the possibilities. Please!
- Ty should not limit the number of each they produce, nor should they retire them-these toys should not cost more than $6-the children for whom they were intended are being stampeded over by greedy adult collectors.Getting the toys my child wants should no
- I don't like the retailers holding back the bears and selling them to their employees, family, & friends only.
- I would like to hae Princess
- Beanies are here to stay!!!!
- I wish I would have started earlier
- I wish I would have started earlier
- mcginnis02@sprynet.com
- pathoen@smig.net
- what's fascinating is the potential for variety!
- I think when the new 14 come out, that everyone will be trying to get the new Fortune & Glory bears that the prices on Princess,Erin,Maple,& Brittiannia will go down to reasonable prices.
- I think the markets should sell beanie babies for what Ty Warner desired in the first place! $5.00!!!
- there should bigger shipments
- I think that they should make more of the popular ones, instead of retiring them so fast.
- I do not like when people buy up 12 or more beanies just to resell all of them for twice what they paid. I can see re-selling one or two, but I hate people who are too greedy and who don't leave any beanies for anyone else!
- I wish Ty would make extreme tons of the new releases before they hit the stores. That should keep the prices down. Supply and demand should be more equal.
- Ty dealers who sell for $25.00/beanie should be banned by TY
- I hope it keeps up or I am sitting on alot of wasted investments!
-
- Well, the reason I couldn't answer question #'s 15 and 18 because it's really, really hard for chose. You could say that I love 'em all!!
-
- I have never had so much fun.
- i need erin!
- If they really want this madness to end then Ty Warner should push for a law making it a federal crime to sell his toys for $1.00 or 10% more than his suggested retail price. There already are federal laws for crimes against children & the price guaging going on for a childrens toy like this is disgusting. This would make it a crime to sell any beanie including ones such as Chilly or Royal Blue Peanut for more than $8-$9, and would truly make them available to children like Mr. Warner claims he wants t
em to be. I ahve complained about several dealers in my NJ area and even given the name of the person buying them out the back door of the retailers, but Mr. Warner has done nothing about this.
- I think beanies wil be big for another 5 years then stop being big and everyone will wonder why they didn't sell their beanies when they where worth something.
- dont like standing in line for hours
- Don't like to when retailers charge 20.00 one time for a baby and then sell it the following week for 6.50.
- Ty needs to make endangered animals & partner up with a consevervation org. (ie. WWF) & donate profits to them for good causes (ie. habitat preservation).
- waddle will retire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- TY should make a neopolitan mastiff dog beanie baby
- THAT IF TY TELLS THE STORES FIRST COME FIRST SERVE THAT THE STORES SH0UD ALLOW THAT AND SELL THEM FOR WHAT TY TELLS THEM TO.
- I love collecting Beanies with my 3 girls-its so much fun!! I just wish all the retailers would only charge the 5.99 for currents. My kids use their allowance money to purchase BB, but can not afford some. My 10 yr old desperately wants ERIN, but is crushed how much she costs on the net, and she is impossible to find in the stores.
- i do'nt think that beanies are a craze that will just go ''away''
- I think this market will soften in three years for quite a while...Then 'True' values will peak in long term collecting...say ...fifteen year range?
- I have several friends who are retailers and they have real problems with their shipments--delays and mixups. Not enough continuity of service to dealers. Also dislike inflating the price to benefit the retailers not the designated charities
- Just hope this craze keeps going :)
- would like to see older beanies reissued
- I like everything about it
- I just love them. I've had alot of fun collecting them.
- keep up the great job
- I think the prices on Princess should be lowered
- It is a wonderful and very helpful book! - Caitlin
- I love everything about beanies!! I think that Nordstrom and all the other sores that sell hard to finds like Erin and retirds like spooky, are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got Erin today for $5 and I can;t wait to shop at Nordys again!
- I love Beanie Babies they are the best collectible ever and always will be
- Alot of people are upset about secondary markets, excuse me, but its our authorized Ty dealers that you should be upset with, they are the ones who are selling out the backdoor to those secondary markets for the extra cash. If it wasn't for the secondary markets there would be alot of retired beanies I would not be able to purchase. I don't pay outrageous prices there is a limit. I discourage paying anything thing higher than $7 for a current. They are only beanies that cost only $2.50 to make if e
en that! As far as people stating its for the kids, well this is the USA and it is the land of the free the last time I checked. Does that mean adults should quit buying collectors cars, trains, and etc! Lets be real here.
- I think they are a great hobby but I would NEVER pay $150 for 1 beanie babby. And do you guys know that in the question who might retire next you have some BBs that are already retired.
- I have seen the brand new Spring Beanies and they are really spectacular!
- stores should only be allowed to charge $5 for new and no more than $10 for retireds for at least 3 months then increase the price
- Beanies Rule
- it should not be so hard to find beanies like princess, erin, and Peace
- I think that the new beanies should be on the market sooner
- I hate how it is so hard to get beanie babies like- Peace, princess, and Erin.
- Stop making new beanies! I can't catch up with you!
- I would like them to make a Shih Tzu dog beanie baby named Casey or Bailey
- I just wish I could afford some of the more expensive ones.
- BEANIE BABIES ARE HERE TO STAY!
- I love Beanies! They are fun to collect!
- I love them and hope to make some money!!!
-
- i JUSTB LOVE THAM
- How do Beanie Babies retire?
- Ty seems to be really trying to hunt down & prosecute fakes. Along with that & if they would get better at delivering on time dealers monthly shipments the Beanie craze should just keep trucking along but Ty has to get better a delivering their products to the public.
- sometimes my buying is cyclical, i may sell some then regret what i have sold, like seamore for 30$ but at least i am not greedy, i sometimes think the bottom is going to drop out of the market, but at least i ahave birthday gifts forever
- Personally the thing I hate most about beanies is the swing tags- because they bend so easily and many come bent when you purchase them.
- I hate it when stores sell beanie babies for higher that the average price or make you buy four or five other beabies before you can buy the one of the more rare ones.
- keep up the good quality/ they're cute
- The Princess Bear and BB shouldn't cost so much
- I wish adults would leave beabies for the kids
- I think it is a wonderful and harmless addiction
- I just love beanies!
- I think TY should make another mouse and annother butterfly. I hope they get more control over the secendary market.
- I love the thrill of the hunt and helping to find Beanies to add to my friends collections.
- I think it is sad that it is almost impossible to acquire the Erin Bear (people are asking anywhere from $300 to $500) and the Princess Di Bear (You can find them for $100.). I've been looking and looking for the Erin Bear ever since the announcement that it was coming.
- I WISH THEY WOULD PUT THE RETIRED WORTH OVER 300.00 ON SELVES!
- I would like to see a Canadian Goose BB
- I think that secondary market prices should be dropped to regulation prices
- I think the main flow of popularity has slowed down greatly, but the serious people will stick this out forever
- I like that you can get them but they are such a fad that they are very expensive.
- they should do another turtle
- Retailers should put out all of the products they receive instead of keeping them hidden to charge higher prices to make more money .
- i love beanie babyies but i hate how you cant get money if the tags off that bites
- Dislike stupid people that believe the secondary market dealers are authorized TY distributors and end up paying double!
- The hunt and collection of Beanie Babies have created some good bonding between families and friends. It's great to see how people have responded in helping others with their collection. Thank you Ty for bring people together.
- the McDonal;ds promotion this year 1998, was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. People in our area were ordering 85-100 happy meals, donationg the meal to charity, and keeping the cartons of teen beanies they received.
- They are going to have a new Beanie called Swirls. He will have an ice cream cone on his chest and he will be tye-dyed.
- just keep them out of mass merchants. They will totally satuate the market, and we all know what that means!
- Hi! My name is Bri... and I would just like to say to you all..... I love beanies!!!!! For all you greedy secondary dealers ..... FIND A REAL JOB!!!!!!!! these beanies were made for children, not for you greedy people!!!! Bye!!!!! :-)
- I love only the bears and dogs. What I like is to get Britannia
- Help!! I'm obsessed with Beanies!!
- I hope that the beanie bears will become more accessable in the future.
- i am losing interest totally because of the secondary market
- I think more specialty stores should be able to become Ty accounts
- I called a shop at 12 and they were out of new BBs befor I called. That sucks.
- It's crazy but too fun to give up!!
- make a bobby the bobcat
- Prices are going to level out now that there are so many retireds. New collectors won't try to get them all because there are too many and they are too costly.
- Someone should market a well-made and inexpensive beanie display item
- I dislike the fact that it seems like I can only get the beanies I want on the secondary market. I think that if it is not retired, they should send some to the retail outlets to give everyone a fair shot at getting these(such as Erin). I feel like the secondary market sellers are driving the prices up to where average people cant purchase the ones they want. As far as the next to retire, I feel like it will be a bear, because they haven't retired any in a while.
- I like the total randomness that Ty is using now on when and where things will be released. The thrill of the hunt makes the phenom phun! However, it is particularly disgusting to see second hand marketers buy everything in site. But, then again, if they didn't, then Beanies wouldn't be worth what they are.
- Retailers are making all the money.....Collectors such as myself are getting a Royal S-------.....Not Fair
- I do not like the way people charge very high prices when this should all just be fun.
- Sadly when i started collecting for my daughter i collected cause she liked em and it was something we could afford NOW the prices have made it impossible for her to obtain many of the new ones..
- love collecting, but hate retailers that jack up the price of hard to finds
-
- I wish the special bears like Erin, Princess, and Peach was affordable and accessible.
- i dislike the way they put out the diana bear, and the erin bear. it should of been sold just like the rest and dianas charity still would of made a lot of money. ty is making this way of selling out of a childs or moms reach. not fair to children.
- I hope those new beanie babies come out soon!
- Beanie Babies are the best
- I can't wait for the new ones to come out. I strongly dislike the secondary market people.
- my kids got me started, now I am worse than them I want them ALL
- OVER PRICED!!!!
- They should be cheap so kids can get them!
- I would wait until Princesses price goes down, it was around 200, now its 50.
- I wish people wouldn't get so rabid about it!
- Was happy to see letter on retailers over pricing.
- It's not fair that kids and adults can't buy specialty Beanie Babies for the regular prices that Ty says the retail prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Was happy to see letter on retailers over pricing.
- My husband hopes and prays my obsession with beanie babies will be a investment in the years to come-and with any luck will pay off down the road.
- Please add the retired beanies to your website!!!
- I am sooooo addicted to BB. My friends and family think I am a freak. My family threw me out. Now I live in a sewer and live off roaches. I am kinda dirty but the BB are all OK. Thank goodness! I would have no one to talk to if they died! Our friendship is so beautiful!
- Beanies are the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- BB are my life, my obsession, my one and only thrill besides taking my heart medication (I am 109)
- I like it that they are cute and well made. I don't like how difficult it is to get some of them.
- It's a fun family passtime, but I don't think retail stores should be allowed to require the purchase of several other currents in order to purchase the bears ( princess, peace, erin, valentino, & curly) thank you
- I like 97 teddy and Nanook
- teenie beanie's being sold for $9,50
- I really like getting BBs and take excellent care of my Beanies, but some of the prices from dealers are just too expensive!
- ty limiting the amount retailers can order, and ty not going after the stores that are selling for higher prices. Children can no longer compete with the adults for the high price beanies. I think Ty should stop selling to stores that sell to secondary markets. It was fun to try to find them for the grandchildren, and a few for myself, but now I can't pay the price, and it's the same people who get them.
- Initially, I collected these for my daughter and myself and went around hunting for them. But now, I only buy them if I'm out--no special trips. I also will not pay more than the going price ($6 approximately). I only paid up to $20 (as reported above) for a few because I wanted to complete my set. Thank you. I am also somewhat disallusioned with collecting any new ones because of the difficulty in getting them. I belive that Ty may also be contributing to this because of the retiring of beanie b
bies. It's no longer fun looking for them. But, it's a craze and it will soon pass as most everything does. But I am mainly buying them just for my own personal pleasure--I like them. I'm not buying them for resale (except to trade with someone that I know might need one and they have what i need). But i don't do it for profit--at cost. Thank for the survey opportunity.
- I dislike that many stores charge more specific beanies, such as the new ones or ones that are hard to find.
- I think there should be a badger Beanie Baby!
- NEED MORE EXTRA CASH NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
- I have a question for you, how long do you expect the "fad" to last?!? E-mail me your answer at tommyw@mcia.com (your help is greatly appreciated!!!)
- i don't like the extremely high prices that can be charged by alot of the retail stores.
- Beanies(not including retireds)should only be $5.00
- 3 generations of my family are "beanie nuts" (grandchildren ages 11, 12, & 13...daughters in mid 30s...myself - age 55). They're wonderful!
- THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL YOU WHEN THEY COME IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- More efficient delivery (and information on delivery) to retailers to better serve their customers.
- you should take all the retired ones and make them current.make the prices lower because it not fair and people have been complaining.make alot more kinds of beanie babys.
- It should be less violent
- I think that people/collectors should NOT make such a big deal out of certain Beanies, like the bears. Personally, all the Beanies should have the same value, not having to pay $150 for a bear, and $5.99 for a dog (for example).
- PRINCESS SHOULD RETIRE ON ANNIVERSARY OF DIANA'S DEATH. NEW BEAR SHOULD BE WHITE WITH PURPLE ROSE AND NAMED ANGEL REPLACING HER
- I don't like retailers jacking the price up so high that you about have to take out a bank loan to purchase some beanie babies. These retailers forget that these are mostly for children to buy, and they simply can't at the prices these stores set.
- I started buying beanies because my best friend told me 2 beanies that my children had worn out and tore the tags off of would have been worth about $150, so everytime I see a new beanie in the store I bought it so that it can happen again
- i don't like the greedy secondmarket dealers.those toys were intended for kids and not greedy dealers
- The people I have dealt with have been, in all, were honest people. I am glad to see that there are still people you can talk to, make trades and enjoy a mutual fun filled hobby with......
- no
- You have a great site!
- Ty needs to make a lightning bug Beanie! It would be cute :)
- The bears a nightmares they don't ship enough and they are the most popular. Plus to many of they stores are selling them out the back door to the secondary market. Because they can get more money that way. It's not fair, the one thing that is forgotten most of the time is that beanies were made for kids kids should be able to buy them in stores at a reasonable price 5 to 7 dollars. Ty needs to ship more
- I have found the only way you get the good beanies is to know someone that is a retailer. They will only sell Erin etc. to their special people. I would like for it all to be fair.
- I have never in my life collected anything and I'm OLD. But my first one got me hooked and it was Weenie, cuz I just love Dachshunds.
- I'd like to see the bears more accessible to children.
- I wish people would sell more of them
- Infuriating that a Ty retailer takes the Princess Bears, Peace & Valentinos and will not sell to children. Puts aside and sells for $25.00 to $100.00
- All rare bears should be made more available to the entire population. The secondary market has too tight a grip on these "childrens'toys"!
- I love Beanie Babies and hope that they are never dropped. They are something new and exciting, and also a c good collector item.
- I enjoy locating scarce beanies. I do not like retailers who hold their shipments and only sell the most popular beanies a few at a time. Then these same retailers complain about not being able to get into the parking lots of their businesses after they have created the mob themselves.
- I have not liked the way the retailers are selling princess & erin - it seems that employees usually buy them up or the retailers sell them for40x's what they have paid for them! Because of these practices, I have been very selective where I spend my money! Some stores are absolutely ridiculous...they make you buy two old to purchase one new! I still have not seen a single Princess or Erin for Sale under $99. Even now the McDonald's teenie beanies that carry a label on the bag 'not for resale' are
eing sold for as much as $15 each in a local beanie exchange store! Actually I have been collecting beanies for a little over a year - I am getting very fed up with the bologna! But I do love my beanies - my nickname is Nana Beanie as my grandchildren call me! I would like someday to get the 'Nana' beanie - oh well enough complaining!
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Ask people what their least favorite beanie is!
- I would like to see brittiana and Maple released in the states
- i wish it was easy to find all the currents at all the authorised dealers
- I like any unique additions, i.e. a goat or porcupine or newt, maybe a ring tail, or geographical additions: roadrunner, tarantula, etc. I do think that retailers, esp. Hallmark stores need to halt with the "spend this much" to get this one garbage. Bad,
- I think that every store that sells beanie babies should sell them all for the same price. And not like princess for more or anything. because then less people get to enjoy them.
- unickorn1
- If anyone has a mint Garcia for 50 please email: UCGV76B@prodigy.com
- I'm really warming up to the little guys, but rabid collectors have really ruined the field for those of us who'd like to get one of the rarer (and now really expensive) ones.
- I love these SURVEYS
- create more ty-dyed ones and more dogs
- I never thought I would collect anything like this. It started out as a couple of gifts to my son (who at the time liked to teeth on the hang tags) now my husband and I both are crazy! I love it!
- create more ty-dyed ones and more dogs
- Beanie babies are very cool as colectables and as toys fgor young children
- none
- I don't like the way retailers are dealing with the bear beanie babies
- I DON'T LIKE WHEN TY I WANTED RETIRE
- Idea of global the bear light blue with globe on chest and blue ribbon on left foot
- are you ever going to make a beanie of a rot wrieler?
- I don't like that stores such as Rowe-Mans in NJ take orders for beanies like Princess & Erin for $6 then sell them to dealers rather than fill the orders. Then they claim that they can't fill the order for you & offer a different less valued beanie in it's place
- I think Beanie Babies are cool
- would like to see more dinosaurs
- I think they are very cool and funky.
- store owners selling for more than the beanies are worth...its not right
- please parents stop the beanie maddnes . ,merissa kovach
- I would like to know how some retailers can get more than one shipment a week, while others have to wait 2 to 3 weeks before they get anything.
- People that deal with Ty should sell at Ty's price.
- I love Erin because I'm Irish!
- I think they should price the bears lower so kids can buy them.
- Pounce and Curly are both my favorites. I like Bears and Cats th same
- i would like to see more children enjoying the beanies. others to buy only one beanie for their own and leave one for another. stop being greedy!
- I don't like how I can'
- I love beanies!!!
- In general I love Beanie Babies. I do think the secondary market keeps beanie babies popular. However, I do feel that some secondary market people are overly greedy with their charges. If it wasn't for the crazy demand, beanie babies might fizzle out. I will continue to collect beanies whether they are high valued or not. I hope Ty continues to retire and introduce new beanies for years to come. Of course, I may have to buy a house just for them. ha ha
- I wish that TY would ship thigs to the stores on time!
- i need a list of the newest beanie babys
- Too many bears, cats and dogs. More bugs, fish and snakes please
- Dislike threat of counterfit purchases on secondary market
- You need a maybe on the yes/no questions
- I enjoy collecting them for my daughter and wish that the adults that collect and horde beanies, would remember that these are for the children and not the greedy.
- We need a new Christmas beanie!
- Beanies are great!!
- I am worried that the beanies are going down
- I like the way bbs are being used for fundraising, and have bought with that in mind myself. I volunteer at several animal welfare organizations.
- Introduce more new types of Beanie's.
- Beanies are soooo cute, but it is hard getting them with out paying a lot of money!
- You need a chipmunk,badger,&porcupine!
- i think people should not be able to sell current beanies at a higher price it isn't fair to children who do not get 40 dollar allowances.
- i wish stores had Erin/maple , in london UK
- It's a shame that retailers are being allowed to use BB as a blackmail tool to make consumers purchase their "mainline" products. I have stopped shopping at stores that are using these toys for reasons other then fair distribution. While these TOYS are cute, they are not worth our children dying over.
- how much should they cost?
- would like to see a guinea pig!
- Beanie's are great!!
- I dislike the way the Ty Co. treats the stores.
- i think i'm addicted. I see the prices the secondary market is fetching, but I can't seem to part with any of my Beanies!
- I dislike some places I can only get 1 retired bb. So I have to choose keep for myselfor give to my mother as a gift..
- I WISH THE BEARS WOULD ALL BE A LITTLE MORE ATTAINABLE.
- I dislike the manipulated shortages on "hard-to-finds" like Princess and Erin. Ty is not seeming to honor its commitment to make them available. They could restrict ordering to only certain styles as they did around Easter to increase the supply of Princess & Erin.
-
- juanita disher
- the more i learn, the more i need to know
- I'm not really a collector, I just love stuffed animals in general, particularly the unusual ones (bats, platypuses, hedgehogs, dragons) and bears of all sorts. I find it offensive that Ty retailers feel they can resort to extortion to satisfy their greed for the almighty dollar. I will ONLY purchase Beanies from one particular retailer in the future because though she does charge more for rarities ($25 for Princess) anything over $5, even on the $6 current Beanies, goes to a charity (currently the A
erican Cancer Society). She periodically chooses charities as recipients of these proceeds. I respect the efforts of those who are doing the right thing with excess profits and applaud their commendable efforts!
- I think wise will retire soon
- This is a cool survey!
- I do not like that my six year old daughter, who plays with her beanies can not get the one bear she would like because Princess is too much in the secondary market and retailers who do get her let their employees buy all of them.
- people complaining about the sec. market are the same people buying the beanies to sell to it. They only complain because they can't find something for $5 and re-sell it down the street for $100. why should the retailer give away money. eveytime someone buys that special beanie they might as well give them $95 worth of other merchandise because that is what is actually happening.

- Not to retire them so soon
- I have met some very nice people while I`m out and about BBing!! I dislike the greed of some of the people involved with the secondary market! But on the whole, if ;you think the price is too high-- walk away and buy it somewhere else!! I hope this phenomenon keeps on going as I enjoy it emensely!! It takes the pressure and tension off me frm my work ! My sons have a name for a BB!! RUFF, the grouse
- They should not have country exclusive beanies. This creates situations that gives collectors a bad rep.
- I THINK LESS SHOULD BE MADE TO KEEP THE MARKET UP. I ALSO THINK THE QUANITY OF EACH PRODUCED SHOULD BE AVAILABLE.
-
- I don't like hiegh prices
- I would like to see the bears retired faster but more available.
- I have great fun collecting Beanies and enjoy meeting and talking with people all over the world about beabies and their stories!!!!
- I don't like second markets
- I like beanies very much but I have a feeling they will be cooling off and the prices will be going down eventually.
- I don't like the way retailers are jacking up their prices and that you cannot get ones like Priuncess and Erin. It ruins your collection. I lieve in a rural area and they are very hard to acquire here, plus at very inflated prices.
- I love B.B's , it's a ball searching and collecting them. Most people are fair in their sales, but a few of the retailers scarf up the new releases for themself which is their porogative I guess, but then they later pull them out to sale at a secondary market price in their place of business, I think this is tacky, the least they could do is sale them someplace other than where they have claimed that they were unable to get them.
- I don't know about anybody else, but I really want to see a hamster or rat beanie baby. I think that would be really cute!
- You can buy Princess and Erin for $6.00 at a store in Seymour called Tuffs and Puffs. The address is 1403 E. Tipton, Seymour, IN. The phone number is (812) 522-4942. ALL of their Beanies go for $6.00 apeice.
- Beanies make me happy!I wonder when next retirement is? It is exciting to wonder!
- guinea pig, ant, different fish, more horses.
- They're the coolest thing since Adam & Eve!!!
- I like bbs because I love animals, esspesianlly Spunky.
- I really do not like it when retailers receive beanies that are scarce & they sell them at a top dollar price even though they've paid the same wholesale price for them as they pay for the non-scarce beanies.
- I have shopped, hunted, entered drawings, bid on auctions, etc. for the past for months to get an Erin Bear. It's very disturbing to see these items sold by the dozens through the auctions for hundres of dollars. Something is wrong here. Someone (retailers?) are apparently skimming the hard to finds off the top of their orders and selling them over the internet and through auctions for tons of money and us little people who just want one single bear for our collection can't find one without paying a
arm and a leg. I finally found an Erin Bear this weekend for 35.00. Several Erin'sand Princesses were being sold a a yard sale by two children. Guess where their Mom worked? The local Card and Party Store that normally sells their beanies for 5.99. Of course, you can never find an Erin or Princess for that and now I know why.
- I think there should be tighter controls on the direct dealers with TY. If they are direct dearlers they should not be a member to the secondary market. However, I do think the beanies are very cute and they do serve good purposes when your children deserve a treat!!!
- viva forever beanies always cute
- It's scary to see the market take a dip now in June--certainly hope this is a temporary thing--I really see the secondary market good for another few years, hopefully.
- retirements and new releases are too frequent.
- Having ones like Princess & Erin that are so hard to get & so expensive has made me less crazy about collecting
- I THINK THAT THEY SHOULD LOWER THE PRICE ON SOME OF THEM AND THEY SHOULD SELL THEM EVERY WHERE
- Beanies are the first thing I've ever collected. I love them, they're so cute.
- I love Beanie Babies, but they're too damn expensive. Please tell Ty to reduce the fucking prices.
- I have been able to get the Princess, Erin, Peace, and Curly all for $5.50 at a store where I live. I thank that it is cool.
- I think that retailers should not hold Beanies for people. However, I realize that when you have crazy people chasing UPS trucks, us normal people who call periodically to see what has come in don't have a chance.
- I think Ty, Inc. should not sell to greedy ty authorized stores. This way all children could afford to own a few beanie babies
- People who work don't stand much of a chance at getting the new ones, stores are usually sold out by the time I get off work.
- Unfortunately, beanie collecting has at times brought out the worst in people, impolite actions, yelling pushing and poor treatment of retailers over the phone.
- I think more of Diana & Erin should be sold for
- I think it is insane for people to be able to sell toys at ridiculous prices to the American consumer. We are materialistic and stupid enough to pay thousands of dollars for something that is merely worth $5.00. It is sickening. Especially whenpeople in the world are starving and we thhhrow away food simple to gain tinie beanie babies.
- I think you should make a person for a beanie
- no comment
- BEANIE BABIES ARE HERE TO STAY!!!!!!!!
- What year did Beanies come out?
- I feel some people have forgotten that beanies were started for children and to be fun. I don't understand grown women fighting over beanies when litlle kids are standing in line to get one too. It's sad.
- I think they are great, but the secondary market sucks and takes all the fun away from kids who want to collect. It should die and burn in the depths of Hell.
- AVAILABLITY
- Your list needs updating. Many beanies on your "predictions" list for question number 12 are already retired. I love beanies because they're fun to collect. I am not greedy and out for profit, and I don't think they should sell any non-retireds for more than $10. (i.e. erin or peace for $40-100)
- I think beanie collecting is a great hobby, but way too many "bad" people are out there that take fun out of it for kids like me...I mean, what is a 40 year old going to do with an Erin bear? Certainly not play with it!!! It would sit up on a shelf in a box and every once in awhile be commented on. I also think people are way too greedy (i.e. teenie beanie promo!!) and WAY too impatient-- look how the prices went soaring for Princess and Erin when they were first introduced and now they have dropped
on the secondary market (I can't afford an Erin for that much, and I was lucky to get my Princess for $6.99). I still enjoy beanie collecting even after all the turmoil it has caused throughout America. Wonder how long the craze can last. Geez, there are only so many animals you can make before it gets old....
- I feel Ty should flood the market with the Princess and Erin bears so the second market dealers stop their outrageous price fixing!!!
- TY should reintroduce Humphrey
- I love the way beanies can bring out the best in people and I ignore the bad. There are always going to be people who try to take advantage of others, it certainly isn't confined to Beanie Babies. You have to overlook the jerks in this world and hold out the belief that good always comes out the winner.
- dislike beanie babie retailers selling at secondary prices
- I love the way beanies can bring out the best in people and I ignore the bad. There are always going to be people who try to take advantage of others, it certainly isn't confined to Beanie Babies. You have to overlook the jerks in this world and hold out the belief that good always comes out the winner.
- I enjoy collecting beanies. The one problem that I have is for several dealers they go on sell on weekdays, while people like myself work it is very difficult to keep up with the new ones coming out.
- I hope places who sell them too high will get fined or something.
- my name is paul and my cousin monika just wrote in here.i agree that ty warner is a fagat retiring those hard-to-find beanies that cost $200! gosh!if anyone agrees with me write in here and maybe we can do something!i want erin but will i get him for $5.00?NO WAY!where"how?this has to change.and beanies should stay at the regular price of $5-not $100!retard!
- I think TY should produce more of the favorites so that Beanie Babies can become more easier to collect for average households. I LOVE TY BEANIE BABIES, except there are some that I absolutely LOVE but can't get even a finger on like Erin, 1997 Teddy, Snowball, Lefty, and Righty, which are my favorite beanies but I can't seem to find!!
- We love to communicate with people but can't get on the pages, like beanie philes,Beanie Mom,etc. Can't wait for the Glory craze!! Jan Mintun, mintunz@cdsnet.net, Also, we still have Teenie Beanies at Mc D's.
- are the new beanies(likeFortune the panda)going to be hard to get like erin or princess?i hope not because i never get a chance to get good beanies.what's up with ty warner?he is acting like a retard retiring the rare beanies when WE CAN'T GET THEM!-MONIKA
- I love beanie babies!!!!
- I dislike the way retailers sell out the back door to secondary sellers, and how this drives up the prices of the current beanies.
- I love Beanies and I enjoy the "hunt" of collecting. I've met a lot of great people standing in line waiting for UPS to show up. It's a nice investment, one that as a single mother, I can actually afford. I think for the most part retailers in my area (the upper peninsula of Michigan) have been fair. My theory about authorized retailers selling at secondary prices is the same as my theory for retailers who gripe about all the "crazy" people who buy them: for the consumer, if it's too expensive, do
't buy it and for the retailers, if you can't handle it, don't sell them. Let us "crazies" have our fun. Thanks, Ty Warner, keep up the good work.
- Beanies ROCK! Ohhhhhhh yeahhhh!!! heheheheheheheheheheheeheheheheheehehe
- ONLY BEEN COLLCTING 5 WEEKS. LOVE IT
- I really enjoy collecting beanie babies.
- I want an Erin!
- Any Ty retailer that sells a beanie for more than $5, even Princess or Erinn, should stop getting shipments
- I can't get enough BB's. I've never had so much fun hunting for them. Wish I could find more
- I don't like it when stores charge any more than 6.50 a piece any more than that is a total rip off.
- my mom used to be an authorized ty dealer, i got most of them from her
- Control pricing!!! Control pricing!!!
- they should have more dogs.
- I think people should sell beanies for 5.00!
- stupid
- I'd like to see more Beanies retired. Some of them have been available for much too long (Squealer), and it's to the point where I've seen people just glancing at the Beanies a store has displayed and walking past because they're older Beanies and EVERYONE has them. I'd like Ty to have a limited number of current Beanies.
- I don't think primary retailers should be able to drive the prices up for beanies. If they want to make money, they should buy them and try to sell them on the secondary market. It's getting harder to find the new beanies at a reasonable price!
- I buy Beanies for my 7yr old daughter-she collects them not me and I think adults that collect them(and drive the prices up) need to grow up and get a life! They're for children-what on earth does an adult do with Beanie Babies? Sleep with them? What???
- Its a fun challenge and my daughter loves them
- The bears should be released in far greater quantity. Ty says it does not want to deal with unethical distributors but if it continues to send out peace, erin, and princess in such small numbers it sets the stage for greed. there should be a quick and easy way to report all stores selling current beanies at inflated prices.
- greatest thing for kids since spagettios!!!
- REAL MEN COLLECT BEANIE BABIES - MACHO MEN STAND IN LINEBEFORE DAYLIGHT!!
- I find the greed of retailers to be very sad and discouraging. The secondary market is exactly that, secondary, and the prices are negotiable and up to the buyer if he or she chooses to pay the price. Retailers are, however, supposed to stick to Ty's pricing philosophy and not ransom the new, retired, and hard to find beanies by making you buy a bunch of junk from their stores in order to buy a beanie.
- I work in a store that sells them...calm down!!! These are toys for children, and you shouldn't spend more than $8 a pop!
- I think it is time to let the regular people who can't pay $300 buy Princess. I wish some how it would be made more easily available to us somehow. My 11 year old son wants me to buy it for hime so bad and he just doesn't understand why we can't pay $300.
- I feel that the retailers make a profit when they sell them for $5, so if fairness to the children, they shouldn't charge the outlandish prices that they do.
- it seems like Ty holds back and then ships all at once. Like they are making us wait so we will buy more when they eventually show up in stores. I don't like feeling manipulated into buying, if they have a good product they shouldn't have to use underhanded tactics to sell them. But then, I still keep buying!
- These are not my answers in resopnce to your survey they are from my mother-in-law, who collects them.
- I hate people who sell for high profits and wonder if all the monies paid for the Princess Bear really went for Princess Di foundation. Judy Beville, Raleigh, NC
- Many of the bears are not hitting the shelves. Erin has not been on a single shelf in Jacksonville. They are predicting the same for Glory. It's crazy.
- Wish you could get the Princess and Erin
- Once again something that was ment to be fun and affordable for kids has become an adult "investment" and ruined it for everyone.
- No Beanie should be retired until it has been on the market for 6 months
- I just love beanie babies, I am collecting for my own personal collection, I think they are so adorale and have such charm!!!
- I buy for the my daughter and god daughter. The prices of the secondary market make it impossible for me to purchase some of the beanies. It is really disgusting to see some dealers selling 12;24 or 36 of the Princess or Erin bears for $150.00 or more. What child or parent for that matter can afford these prices. The problem is when authorized dealers sell on the secondary market, where else would these dealers obtain the beanies.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES
- do away with the hang its to hard for kids to take care of it and play with the beanie
- i wish that the retailers would be more fair and stop keeping the good ones for themselves because they can make more money selling them elsewhere
- I think someday there will be a Beanie Babies Anonymous! They're addicting.
- overpriced
-
- PRICES ARE GETTING OUT OF HAND
- I'd like to see a bear that honors the armed forces....I'd like to see a black stallion or a palomino horse....I would like to see a parakeet....I would like to see a wolf or a German shepherd
- I really don't think it is fair for all of these people to try to corner the market on rare beanies and then try to make a profit. Thanks not why they are being made. They are being made for the kids to enjoy and love. It would be nice if everyone could have a honest soul and a kind heart as the children do.
- It is very upsetting to see TY dealers jacking up their prices. I also would like to see TY do more special offers to club members so that everyone collecting could get a shot at the hard to find beanies.
- MORE RETIREMENTS! MORE RELEASES!
- I think Beanies are the best things yet!! Keep making them!!!---Sarah Kulik PA
- I really wish that retailers would have a set price of 5.00. And I wish that I could find the Beanies i want.
- I hate the secondary market. They are the reason this has gone so berzerk.I think they should stop and that Ty should do something about this mess that the secondary marketers have made.I think this is a child's toy and people need to remember that.
- I love my bbs
- don't think the price war will last hope not
- I wish more people would trade instead of selling at a higher price!!!!
- i only buy the beanie babies if i have enough money and they aren't very expensive. and some of those prices may be what they are worth but i have found them for a lot less! only a fool would pay that. i also think that they are overly priced
- what about a line of specially challenged beanies to raise money for different charities; like hearing impaired etc...
- TY needs to do something about retailers that charge inflated prices for retired and brand new beanies. The prices I have seen for Princess and Erin are outrageous. I worked for a retailer that carries beanies and the constant phone calls upwards of 100 per day are very annoying.
- I don't like stores that up the price on new Beanies
- i hope the market continues to prosper
- I suggest Ty comes out with an ant named Hercules.
- I just wish someone would sell me a mint ty garcia for 50 dollars
- Dealers that mark-up rare and retireds really bake my biscuits!!!!!
- I like them all.
- Beanie babies are the neatest things in the world. I love them!
- I love collecting Beanie Babies!! I really dislike being expected to pay more than TY intended, for them AND stores that make you purchase outrageous dollar amounts of their merchandise in order to purchase Beanies!
- I think it stinks that all my child needs to complete her collection of current BB is princess and Erin and I will not pay over $20 for a BB I think it's nuts this are toys for my kid and I can't find a Princess for under $40 and Erin for under a $100
- I Dislike the fact that the make you buy product from there store like 10.00 before you can purchase a beanie .I will not shop at places like this .One of these I used to buy alot from but not any more .I shop elsewhere.
- I love all of the beanies, however I shudder at the word "retirement." These are TOYS and should be treated as such. I dislike immensely the adults who buy beanies as a "business" and I dislike Ty for allowing the secondary market to exist. Unfortunately, I am trapped in a phenomenon which I despise but from which I cannot exit.
- I think that there should be more Beanie Babies available in England. I believe that this would boost the market as well as make more people happy!
- I like when they are reasonable prices, about $6.00
- BEARS WILL RETIRE NEXT PLUS SOME DOGS
- I wish they would the bears more plentiful
- I C A U G H T B E A N I E F E V E R !
- I C A U G H T B E A N I E F E V E R !
- The secondary market is what made the BB exciting and kept people wanting to purchase them, but I think now everyone is losing their interest because they feel the BB are not worth anything! Yes some abused with too high of price mark up, but still everyone likes to think they have something of value!
- I wish I could acually find them when I want them, it's hard to belive there's a craze for something you can't buy
- I have a tbb with no tag is this more valuable.
- i just started abeanie babie colletion for my unborn nese, and i only have 5 and i would like to get more at cheap price so i dont have to buy one this way i can buy a lot at a reasonable price.and i would like to sell them, very much.
- Interesting to check which BB survivor mint condition status. Alot of BB are used by the children, therefore making the mint condition ones possibly rare.
- I love Beanies! However, I can't wait for the McDonald's thing to get over with! We still are on our first shipment, and have already received 2 more! I have 3 sets of each one, except Waddle and Peanut (which haven't been handed out yet) and I have all of last year's Teenies. May all your Spots be spotless! Lizzy----> ~~~(ooo)()~
- i'm getting sick of all the lines!!!
- I think retailers for Ty should be checked more closely. I know quite a few that mark prices way up on certain beanies. I don't feel this is fair because they only pay Ty $2.50 plus shipping for each beanie. Some are very greedy. How can children ever get them at such terrible prices?
- I've been looking for Erin and Princess and where I live they are going from $125 to $300. I am then told that some stores will sell them for $6. This is driving me nuts.
- beanies are cute but paying hundreds and thousands of dollars is stupid!
- When I go to a store likeJordans Hallmark to buy Beanies I dont want to pay $10.00 or $200.00 that they were aking for princess in the store.
- I love being addicted to beanies instead of drugs, cigs or other nasty habits. I dont like retailers that cater to certain customers and that don't give the average person a chance to get a non retired rare beanie such as peace or princess, other than that I love everything about ty warners incredible product especially the search.
- I live in a very small town and would like to see some of the smaller towns in some way be able to have a merchant that could purchase them, such as a tiny country grocery store.
- I always apologize to my husband about my "sickness". Is there a BBA out there anywhere?
- I collect the dogs, bunnies and bears. I really enjoy looking and shopping for them.
- I just love them! Even though i only have 1! I'm desperate to find Royal Blue Elephant!
- I love beanies but I think it is unfair that stores and people raise the prices on the hard to get ones like Princess, Peace, and Erin. The secondary market only makes money for the people who sold the beanie, not Ty.
- I like to go to the stores that do not up the prices on their beanies. there are some that more than double the price if it is retired, new or just very popular.
- I don't like it when dealers try to rip me off. I have Lizzy the tie dyed lizard with an almost perfect 3rd generation tag. I have had people try to rip me off a lot.
- why are there so few bears sent to the retail outlets
- I don't collect to make money, and find the shortage as in the recent McDonald promotiom frustrating. I have only purchased one beanie on the secondary market and that was because my husband wanted one for a gift and we couldn't find it any where else. I refuse to buy any others for big prices. If I don't have it and I can't get it for a decent price, I won't get it. If it continues to be this greedy gouging, I will find something else to spend my money on.
- I think that Beenie Babies are a great investment and you should start collecting them quickly.
- wish i had my money back
- secondary dealers are thieves
- wish it was easier to get new beanies
- no
- I have really enjoyed starting my collection. It got away from me for a while there. I have slowed down on my purchases, CAN HARDLY WAIT FOR THE NEW RELEASES!!!
- I don't like the idea of these shops holding back the sales of the "special bears" and selling them for $100 to $300 an item.
- Marketing strategy should insure the continued interest in collecting Beanies for all markets.
- i wish retialers could go back and hold beanies till next morning to give us a chance to get them. If they put them out as soon as they get them, well, we can't be everywhere, everytime. You see? Most of us work or have children that go to school or sleep late. Sat. mornings for all stores would be great, but I know that is not relistic. WE LOVE BEANIES, ME, MY DAUGHTER (9) and son (5)
- I am happy right now because I own both Princess and Erin!!!!
- I love the beanies and am collecting for my grandchildren as well as myself. They are so cute! My biggest complaint is the pushing, shoving, yelling, etc. that one must endure to get a beanie. I think it is absolutely disgusting! Folks should patiently wait their turn and if they are sold out , they are sold out. There is always a next time. And if you don't get what you want the world isn't going to immediately come to an end. I refuse to be a part of this ridiculous behavior! I do feel, however, e
entually this 'craze' will die down and the beanies will become less valuable.
- I wish that I could find beanies more easily! =)
- I think that beanieis are really cute and that I can collect as many as possible and I hope that thay keep on makeing more?
- I think that you should come out with another camel, humphrey is so cute but to expensive. I would get him if i had the money
- Only buy at regular retail or trade; sometimes sell; am long time trader- started on TY guestbook with many of those now involved in Beaniemom, books, etc.
- I think that you should come out with another camel, humphrey is so cute but to expensive. I would get him if i had the money
- Please don't retire Princess or Erin for about a year.
- There should be a guinea pig beanie baby
-
Ty needs to make more Kitty cat beanies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- stores do not get enough of the new ones to allow customers to get them without calling in advance
- HELLO????THERE ARE NEWLY RETIREDS!!!!!
- We think Crunch or Mel might retire next
- I think that beanie babies are awesome and that I don't know what I would do without them!!! Way to go Ty!
- I think they should only retire a couple BB's at a time. I just got the family of bunnies and Floppity went up all of the sudden.
- I get really upset that hard working people like me and my friends, can't get the beanies because of these greedy people that follow the ups truck. they need to give everyone a chance, then buy more than one. Maybe the stores could have list and check the people off the list as they get their new ones, and after their regular customers get theirs they can buy a duplicate. also I had a blast buying happy meals for tbb's,my husband and teenage kids thought i was crazy but they were feed all weekend.ha ha ha
love ya ,colette
- thanks for the survey
- i love beanies
- I think it is disgusting how the adults have perverted the market. There is absolutely no reason to sell a new issue(such as Erin) for hundreds of dollars except for greed. After a BB has been sold at Ty's price (5-7) then the secondary market people and their customers can do whatever they want, but a new issue should be available to everyone at the reasonable price.
- I think prices should be universal everywhere. They should also make more of each Beanie.
- make more beanies
- Why don't you make a goat (regular or tie-dyed)?
- elvis royal blue bear with guitar motif
- Why don't you make a goat (nornal or tie-dyed
- it's fun! I love them. They make me happy!
- I can't get enough beanie babies to satisfy my need!!!!
- greedy secondary markets - don't like
- I like beanie babies and other bean-filled toys. I also love animals so that's why I collect them.
- more horses!!!
- You should update this survey. 1/2 the beanies aren't in the list
- I Love Beanie Babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I like the dogs; i like the faces on them; they are very cute; wish i didn't always miss the bears; wish some stores would take reservations for shipments so everyone would have a fair chance
- I wonder just how long this craze will last?
- Keep bringing out new designs and keep retiring beanies too!
- 2nd Market sellers should not sell beanie babies at such a high price
- I do not think that stores should run the price up on hard to find Beanies like Erin.
- I'm tired of seeing current Beanie Babies being sold at flea markets for outrageous prices - people need to get a clue and realize that these were meant for children and not greedy adults. Some retailers are way out of control ( charging $ 100.00 for Peace ! ) and really should be stopped. I think Ty should take a closer look at what's going on. Another thing that's getting on my nerves are all the so-called "Beanie Babie experts" who are coming out with books -- get real ! -- they're only bored housew
ves trying to make a buck !
- NO
- I think beanie babies are good for the soul.
- I don't think dealers should be able to price them so high. Maybe $20, but $200 is a little much.
- new collector
- i really dont have a favorite beanie and the beanie i really want is erin
- I don't like the way Priences is sold but I know ware I can get her for $9.99
- I think Ty should release a limited edition of Brittania and Maple in the U.S.
- your BBOC needs to be kept current!
- BEANIES ROCK, MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- BEANIES ROCK, MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Some people are getting WAY to crazy about Beanie Babies. Also, I don't like to hear about people hurting each other over cute little bean bag animals. Those indivuals need to seriously GET A LIFE!
- Need list of authorized retailers/dealers in order to find beanies locally.
- authorized dealers are selling and cotrolling the prices of teddy bears. THIS IS UNFAIR> IT SHOULD BE FIRST COME!
- I think the Beanie Baby phenomenon is great. I love to collect these animals. My husband thinks I am crazy for doing it, but I just tell him that I could be into my costly things to collect. I wouldn't trade my beanies for anything in the would, well maybe... haha
- I don't mind buying from secondaries--but the retailers should not sell them for over $10.00--that includes all of the beanies!! I don't want retailers to sell any second market beanies either.
- I truly believe that the secondary sellers are way too greedy. Several children will never have some of the Beanies they should be able to acquire, but never will do to greed and beaniemania.
-
- I would like to find a ty distributor in my area
- Doby is the greatest and cutest Beanie there is!!!
- I noticed your answer about following the UPS man. My husband works for UPS so I guess I could have said I follow the UPS man!!!!! They do come up and ask him if there are any TY boxes!!!
- As a retailer we are between a rock and a hard place. Ty limits our shipments and the customers think we lie when we say we don't have any and don't know when they are coming in. The people who are willing to pay inflated prices on the secondary market are the ones incouraging the "blackmarking". I was in a dealership yesterday and enjoyed seeing a seven year old just buy Spunky because she wanted it. She tore off the tag and gave it to the dealer to toss in the trash. She was so excited. Mother paid o
5.25 for it and of course tax. Unfortunately in our area dealers have been hit by two men picking up the inventory on the floor and running out. The license tag turne out to be from a stolen car. So those dealers were left without their stock and profits. Most of our dealers are selling beanies about six dollars. Raising funds with the sale of Princess and Erin for local charities. Because of the low quantities being shipped by Ty, this is the only way to meet the demand. When Princess and Erin come in l
rger quantities, we will sell them at our normal price of $6.00. Enjoy selling them to the custome who just want to fill out a collection, but hate the rudeness of the customers who are greedy and lying, only to sell on the internet or at inflated prices.
- I wish ty would get stores their orders quickly and all of their order, not just part of it

- I think the prices should be lower at local stores.
- This is a double edged sword. In order for beanies to remain of value, there must always be less supply than demand. For those of us that work full-time for a living, acquiring certain beanies is near impossible. It would be nice if more merchants would wait to put out their wares on Saturdays so that we have a chance. While I feel that the secondary market is what will keep this phenomenon going, I think some of the prices are outrageous. I have always wondered it people actually sell for those incred
ble prices. I think that as long as Ty puts out less than the people demand, this craze will be around for a long time.
- I wish the dealers would leave everything alone and let the kids collect these for a reasonable price like it was intended by the Ty Co.!
- Current Beanies shouldn't cost so much.
- retailers are very greedy about the hard to find bears (Princess and Erin). They increase the price way above suggested retail,.
- The greedy secondary market is leaving a lot of very disappointed kids in it's wake!!!
- I think the prices are to high . I wish I could have more BB's
- I dislike the feeding frenzy of greedy secondary dealers that take the beanies right out of the hands of children and push & shove their way to get their hoards!!!!!
- I think the prices are to high . I wish I could have more BB's
- how secondary stores mark up prices
- retailers need to be more fair in selling to secondaries. it becomes difficult to find beanies because they grab them all up before anyone else gets a chance to buy them then sell them at exhorbitant rates. these animals were created for the children prmarily and it is sad to see a child cry because some jerk is selling current beanies for$15 or more a peice. i was fortunate enough to find a retailer that sells the beanies for $5.99, no matter which one it is. that is where i got my princess bear--$5.9
. you may have to get on a list, but you get your beanies for the price that ty suggests and recommends. these extorsionists, i mean secondaries, should be ashamed of themselves.
- what i dislike the most about the beanie phenomenon is that the ty corp. needs to adequately supply the retailers with the high demand beanies such as Erin and Princess ect. before sending us all letters stating that we should be selling all beanies for 5-7$ if we recieved enough of them to do this without making our customers angry because they miss the short supply that we would be able to do this with 36 each of Erin and Princess in a 5 month period is not enough to supply the demand we have for th
se popular bears, he claims to not like what he is seeing on the secondary market with them but if he would meet the demand at the retail level this problem wouldn't exist. He also claims he will be cracking down on retailers who are selling above the suggested retial price, but a local retailer that has been selling Erin and Princess for $100, Peace for $50 and Valentino for $25 has yet to be cut off from shipments even after the numerous complaints that we know our customers have called in to them. Not o
ly has he not been cut off, but he has recieved numerous shipments of these bears while we sit and wait and have our backorders cancelled! Ty Warner needs to put his pledge into action and stop paying lip service! How can we expect the company to close down these accounts when they aren't even able to keep up with the maximum amount of beanies the retailers are allowed to order every month, they had no business opening new accounts,of which our local ripoff store is, until they could fill the orders for t
e customers they already had. It is also common knowledge among retailers that the accounts that are new since Jan. 1998 are recieving priority shipments! Lets be fair and stand by the loyal retailers who stick with the pricing that Ty suggests.
- beanie babies are really cool, and are cute, but sometimes it is really hard to find the ones you want for a good price, that includes currents too
- I am tired of secondary dealers buying out the stores inventory and then selling them for two and sometimes three times the price paid for profit. This makes them difficult for anyone to collect, which I'm sure is their goal. But I think currents should be bought for the price intended by Ty. and save the increased pricing for the retired beanie collecting.
- Wow I just love Beanie Babies! But I really hate how many counterfeits are coming out. When I was reading about counterfiets at BeanieMom.com I read about the Pinky's and I think I may possibly have a counterfiet one. But anyway, they're just so cute and adorable and collectible!
- I usse extras for charity fundraising after my grand-daughter and I have one
- Why are the bunnies so cheap? Nobody wants them and they're so cute!
- I can['t explain why I like them so much. They make me feel happy!
- I would love to purchase Princess, if I could find her at a fair price at a reputable dealer. I would have no problem paying more than the average Beanie, I want to make sure the difference goes to the charities and the children Princess Diana loved. So, come on TY and issue more of these sweeties to your authorizied dealers. We should be contributing to the Memorial Fund with our purchases of the Princess Beanie, not lining the pockets of secondary market merchants.
- I think the selling of Princess & Erin at higher prices by retailers is terrible. They are meant to be available to children.
- I dissagree completly on the new teddy bears selling for over normal prises{way over} leaving the kids who just want to collect them and not make money off of them {By Amanda C urry of Weatherford , Tx
- I am disappointed retailers are charging more or less due to demands. Not everyone can afford or are willing to pay high prices.
- I hate it when second-market dealers buy up all the Beanies and sell them for a lot of money.
- I hope beanie babies are around forever!!!!!!
- You should make a lot of princess and all of the other kind of bears so everyone gets one. I don't like that you keep the bears scarces.
- I feel that TY should have retailers stick to his policy of the price of new beanie babys
- I love beanies because they are so cute. Most of the ones I have are of sentimental value, because my husband has given them to me. I only buy the ones that catch my eye, and I am not interested in buying those that are hard to find, like Erin or Princess. I do think that many people take collecting much too seriously. For example, last week at our local mall in Hickory, NC, there was a fight over a shipment of Erins and Princesses. Yes, people actually threw punches over a $5.00 toy. I can't bel
eve that people would make such fools out of themselves for a bit of cloth and a heart-shaped tag. After, as cute as they are, Beanie Babies are only toys, after all, and should be treated accordingly. I am sure the secondary value of the toys makes people all the more greedy for them. I, for one, will not succumb to such activities as fighting just to buy a toy. I applaud TY for their stand on pricing, and I hope they continue to produce high quality merchandise.
- I love BBs, they make me smile.
- I think you should be able to re-take the survay if neede in the furture.
- I would like to see a white buffalo beanie!
- I think you should be able to re-take the survay if neede in the furture.
- hope it isn't fad... last forever like barbie..
- It's a fun hobby which I enjoy with my grandchildren and best friend.
- I would like to see a white buffalo beanie!
- WE'VE ALL LOST OUR MINDS AND I'M LOVIN IT!!!!!!! I DON'T LIKE THE WAY SOME PEOPLE ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE.
- I THINK THAT IT IS AMAZING HOW THIS BEANIE BABY CRAZE HAS GROWN SO MUCH OVER THE PAST YEAR, AND TO THINK THAT THEY ONCE WERE NOTHING AND NOW THEY SEEM MORE VALUEBLE THAN GOLD
- New beanie babies are selling for over $15. Not far to kids who collect them.
- I wish I'd started collecting when they first came out but who knew they'd be so popular!!!
- you shoud make a hammerhead shark
- Ty should make more colored teddy bears
- I love BBs.
- High prices for beanies suck!
- Dislike waiting for new arrivals or announcements fromTy
- fun for kids and adults alike!
- I'm a very rich man thanks to beanie babies! I just sold a Humphrey for about 1 thou, no biggie. And a Peanut, royal blue, for about, 5 thou!
- This was much more fun when it was for kids - recently, I have seen rude adults grabbing beanies from children's hands at Hallmark stores, because the child had a curly or valentino - it makes me sick! I will be glad when the market drops back and it is fun for the children again!
- see if they last like a stieff bear/animal 100yrs
- I love beanies!
- MAKE MORE DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think that the beanie baby craze is dying down. The market is too saturated right now and has been for the past several months. The excitement that caused all of the interest was the fun of the hunt. Now they are sitting in every store gathering dust. That is, except for the few hot sellers like Princess and Erin. I have watched the prices on the retireds drop over the past few weeks. Ty needs to dry things up for awhile to generate interest again.
- I really enjoy collecting the beanie babies. It started out that I was getting them for my little 5 year old girl, but now I seem to be buying alot (especially retired ones) for myself. I started late (in Feb. 1998) so I rushed to get all the list of currents before the May retirement. I got all but two--Of course those two were retired in the May retirement. My luck. But, I don't like those secondary wholesalers who charge way out prices for something that should be between $5 to $10. I don't mi
d paying more for retired beanies but current ones should be within a certain price range. But, all in all, I love collecting beanies and hope to do it for many YEARS to come!!
- That retail dealers not sell out the back door
- I think that Congo is going to retire, it is so old!
- Great Site
- I don't think that retailers (TY authorized, private collectors, or otherwise) should be allowed to raise prices of Beanies, even if they are retired or hard to find. That lowers the chances of children and people with lower income to afford Beanies. I think that Beanies should cost 5.99 to 9.99, reasonable prices like that, instead of thousands of dollars.
- none
- peop[e that sell them for high prices. How much of the princess on secondary markets is going to charity?
- Cows Rule! Moooooooooooooo

- Current Weanie Beanie Babies are going for $20. ea. at a Beanie Baby Show I went to today!!! Ridiculous!!!
- All stores that sell beanies should only sell themm to parents that have children right beside them ,so all kids that want them can get them. From a10 year old girl who collects, and loves beanies.
- These are toys and the pricing is out of control. Adults need to back off so kids can get a new one ever now and then. The teenie beanie frenzy was a true display of pathetic greed!
- i lke the valuing of retireds
- I think people really need to keep sight as to what this was all about...children and their toys...this has been a great past time for myself and my eight year old daughter. We spend alot of quality time doing this together. These days for a parent to spend more than 10 of their time seems to be a sacrafice to them. I have a great time doing this with my kids.
- Beanies are the best things I ever saw!!
- I think Wise the owl will be retired soon ,because it has a specific date printed on its graduation cap.
- I just bought an Erin and a Princess for $5.95 a piece! (I live in a very small town an thought they would never come!)
- Ty should make more Princess beanies available since all the proceeds go to the Princess Diana Memorial foundation.
- I love them and would like to be more information, I am now to this
- Ilike them alot . my mom hats them.
- sell them all over the world
