- Bring back the dinosaurs
- I enjoy beanies - especially the hunt and finally getting one. After that, the poor dears end up with a tag protector, in a ziplock and hidden in the closet. Kind of unfortunate I think - but we do have quite a few that the kids play with too! Overall, we have had a fun time collecting...but I think the phenom is wearing off on us. We shall see...
- Cool site!
- Bears are the most popular Beanie. I can't get my hands on even one single bear.
- I'd like to put the high price dealers out of business. This is a kid's toy!
- I wish Ty would do something about the retailers, they sell out the back door and they sell at markets, have complained but have gotten no results, I wonder if he cares.

- i love Glory!!!!
- a black and white cat with grey ears
- I don't think retailers should sell beanies for more than 5.00 like they were not suppose to do or there licensed could be pulled
- Instead of making more beanies of one group like dogs or cats, I think you should make a new kind of beanie animal !
- Instead of making more beanies of one group like dogs or cats, I think you should make a new kind of beanie animal !
- I can't quite figure out why the May releases are so hard to find. It seems to drive up the secondary price through the roof!
- Grown ups are greedy when it comes to beanies. they ought to be ashemed of their selves!! and i think that all the bears will retire next
- Greater quantitys of new ones.
- Secondary market people are rude, greedy, and selfish. I think Chocolate, Pinky, and Claude may be in the next retireds
- I collect holiday beanies!!
- I have some ideas for new beanie babys: Woody the woodpecker, Meow the black and brown cat, Jellybean the all black bear , BiBi the white poddle. If our ideas are chosen can we have them for s5.95 ? Oh I forgot Fluffy the chow.

- Maybe it is my imagination, but the quality of some of the 5th generation beanies seem to be less than perfect.
- new beanies shouldn't be sold for $50
- I do not think it is fair that TY retailers are selling to secondary market vendors and not put the new releases out for the general public
- I just wish when the release new ones they would do so in adequate numbers for the demand......It's very frustrating to find out the retailers only get a dozen each of the new ones.....And they are on the secondary market BEFORE the every get to the retail level
- I just want have NIttany Lions for Ty beanie babies, mascot for Pennstate in Pennsylvania. And I want birth date is April 29. Because I love ty beanie babies, and nittany lions sound good, Roary need brother and sistier. So, I wonder can you made nittany lions for new one. Nickname is Nittany. Can you? Hope I hear from you all soon! Keep up with Ty Beanie Babies!
- it is annoying that it is impossible to get Erin bear .. without spending way too much $$$$ I want him for my neice Erin!
- I THINK SOME STORES SHOULDN'T BE ABLE TO SELL THEM FOR SO MUCH, BECAUSE THE KIDS CAN'T BUY THEM AND ENJOY THEM!!
- Beanie Babies are the best thing ever!!
- Beanie Babies are the best thing ever!!
- When the new collection came out the only stores to have them were the secondary market, I think the dealers should be the only stores to have them first!
- I think all of the rest of the original 9 will be retired.
- Please remember that most of the beanies are for children; I have seen far too many adults act like monsters to get a beanie baby. I am fed up with authorized dealers selling beanies for $10-15 and am really disgusted with secondary market dealers.
- I think that it's about time that some of the bears will retire.
- I absolutely adore TY BB and I enjoy looking for them but I am equally appalled when I see authorized BB dealers lie to their customers. Sometimes I can get very frustrated because I can't get the BB my daughter (7) and I want. I hope TY retires another 28 soon. I want to see TY keep all the Bears in production and flood the market so everyone can get as many as they need.
- I think that they are very cute and would love to be able to collect them fur the fun of it; though that seems to be impossible because Ty and the secondary market has made that difficult by limited production and prices that are too steep.
- I DISLIKE overpricers. I believe they all should be banned from the internet. Hey I'm a kid.
- It would be nice if the supply of bears were as plentiful as the others.
- I dislike it when the kiosks have the brand new beanies(Glory, Fortune, etc.) and then put the prices up so high you can't hardly afford to do anything else(I'm 11, and don't like to waste money) when you can get it for 5.99-6.99 later, and I don't understand where they get the new ones from, no one else hardly has them, so I would like to know where and how much they get them for
- I think TY should control it better because some of my friends have quite buying because of what some ofthe retailers do.
- They are great warm fuzzies that the country sure needs!!!!
- i am beanie crazed i stalk down beanies then i buy them
- Ty should make more streches. Its too hard too find him
- is there any contests to win beanies?
- I think that all the people who try to sell the 14 new releases for tens and hundreds of dollars when they are intended to be sold for $6 (along with Brittania) shouldn't be allowed to sell for that much.
- I don't think it is right for the new ones to be price way up there. They should be between 5-7 dollars when the first come out not 149.00 like the Glory bear. It's just not right. After they are out for 6 months or so then maybe go up in price. Thank You
- My BIGGEST complaint would be the "grabbers". The people that are obviously NOT buying the Beanies for themselves, but for resale only. My 2 daughters (6 and 8 years old) and I just happened to be at a Hallmark store when their BIG shipment came in. We waited around to see what they had and as the Beanies were brought out - my daughters were pushed and shoved as these "collectors" made their way to see also!! Ever since that happened, we are NOT as "into" Beanies as we use to be. We have started t
look around for something less "dangerous" for my children to buy. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest!!!
- people that take them away form little kids
- It is very hard(impossible) to find prices of bran new beanies on the internet easily!!!!!!
- I really like beanies very much. I enjoy giving them to friends and family. I dislike all the people who are money hungry and jack the prices up!
- the people that sell the ones they just bought at a really high price!!!!~
- My children and I joined the official BBOC and we sent into TY for our official certificate to also receive the order form for the BBOC Clubby Bear. When we received our certificates in the mail, only two to the four contained orderforms. My eleven year old daughter was cruched! She has written a letter to the address of the BBOC and we are still awaiting a return answer or just two more order forms. How will I know if they even read this letter? From Mary D.
- I love Beanz!
- I just wish that they were easier to find. But that is part of the fun, looking for them.
- more retirements a year to keep beanies alive
- Their needs to be a set low price for currents.
- the availability of them in michigan is limited also they need to lower the price after all this is suppose to be for kids to enjoy!!!
- I think that all the knew beanies including Erin and Prinsess should be sold for 5.99 to 8.99 i can see the retierds but the knew ones come on!
- I just heard Princess is out of produciton; but not retired. And Seaweed is about to retire.
- no coment
- beaniemom i have a question i need to ask you, i lost my clubby application and i was wondering if you think they will except my offer if i send the money in and tell them my story and also give them bboc # and name etc. please e-mail me back with your opinion. thanks!!

- Unavailability of new beanies at a reasonable price. "Beanie Hunters" seem to make the rounds and grab up everything before regular people can buy them and then they resell them for ridiculous prices.
- I do not think that it is very kind to kids that adults are collecting beanie babies because then the kids can't find the one they want. By the time the kids get there the beanie babies are all gone!
- I work in a toy store that went very much in debt buying an inventory. The beanie baby phenomenon is what is bringing the owner out of debt!! It's a curse for me though. We are allowed to buy beanie babies at a 45% discount (that's about $4 per baby) and against our next paycheck. Often I literally don't get a paycheck because of my beanie purchases.
- I never thought I would buy one and look at me now! I think it's crazy, but I hate to go a day without buying one now. sbrook@wwisp.com
- I don't like the Hallmark stores holding back certain beanie babies.
- I have been collecting for 2 months, and have gotten friends hooked on beanies, (a friend got me hooked), and I'm sure this will continue to happen. I don't think that Beanie Babies are a trend that will end soon as most do. Beanie Babies are for all ages of collectors who are "young at heart".
- Stores like Hallmark and others are selling beanies to secondary market out the back door and not even putting them on shelves for the customer. Cannot report as don't know exactly which ones. Know it's happening . Especially the bears and others.
- i think this beanie baby phenomenon is getting out of hand- the new releases are being sold for very high prices. i dislike the very high prices- ty warner was supposed to make these prices reasonable for children like me to buy with our allowances. i think that mystic the unicorn, mel the koala, pouch the kangaroo, erin the bear, glory the bear, and pounce the cat will retire. ty warner should make more insect/bug beanie babies. that's what my brother likes. they can come out with a cricket or grassho
per or a beetle. thanks for reading this!!! mission viejo, ca
- I was wondering if this is just a fade and I will lose my money. I was thinking about saving them for a college fund.
- I am really upset by retailer who take advantage. Granted sometimes they have to put up with a lot of disrespectful people, but there are ways that they can sell the beanies at regular prices and still maintain control. There are far to many abuses on the part of retailers.
- I feel it's a real shame that most of the retailers that sale Ty beanies reserve sets of the new beanies for their "special" customers before the public can get a chance at purchasing them for the $5-$7 value. I also think it's bad for the retailers to take their own stock and sell it for outrageous prices. And it's not just a few that do all of this. Actually I've found in my research that at least 65% (or more) do this.
- I can't believe how these beanies took off!!!! I thought they were so silly when they came out, and now I'm collecting. I'm addicted. I'm also having alot of fun too. I'm trying to get my hands on a Glory but everybodys asking to much. I will not go over $50 for a beanie (right now anyways). I think they need to come out with another dinosaur beanie. They all came out on 3rd gen. tags, and retired on the same tag. I jumped into the game too late. I predict Wise will retire by the end of this year,
thats what everybody is saying because of his hat., I also think Weenie will retire next, also Ziggy,Valentino,Squealer, and Seaweed. Well see. Thanks, Christina
- I think chocolate should retire soon he has been out on the market for a long time (since the first 9 beanies).
- Think the retail price should be the same for all Beanie Babies that are not retired.
-
- beanies are cute and fun to collect
- Yes
- I hope that the secondary market (Shop at Home, Home Shopping )doesn't flood the market and decrease the value of our beanies
- Beanie Babies are the best toys ever!
- The beanie baby trade has allowed me to work from home while my children are small. I keep one of each style I find, if possible, and resell the rest. I try to buy them at fair retailers, but given the limited number recieved in each shipment, it becomes more difficult when the new styles come out. I even spent all of last night camped outside a store because they were getting in a new shipment. Unfortunately, we discovered when they opened that we had waited 10 hours only to be allowed to purchase
ONE of the "NEW" beanies, and they included Princess, (not new), Erin, (not new), Peace (not new), and they only had 5 of the truly new beanies. Overall, I have had a lot of fun with collectors and non-collectors alike. My husband laughs at me and my customers, but then I remind him of his 10,000+ baseball cards, and that usually does the trick. As a new collector/secondary market beanie maniac, I am grateful to the magazines and web sites for my beanie education.
- I think in December 98' all beanie bears even the May 98 ones will be retired.
- the bears are definatley the best
- I hope the interest in Beanies continues. It is fun and fairly inexpensive.
- no,what do you mean- i am a beanie baby!
- I would like to see them sold at a more reasonable price range
- no thanks
- i dislike the way some ty retailers sell their beanied to customers
- I think selling the beanies so high is crazy & people should NOT BUY them at those prices it's just crazy .......
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!
- i love beanie babies.someone should do something about high prices on current beanies, though
- I love them. But I dontlike stores that dont put out the special ones. It takes too long for us in parts of Florida to get the new ones.
- Make more new animals
- I wish there were more retailers selling beanie babies because the secondary market is sometimes outragous.
- I think the stores should not be so greedy. Also I think TY needs a cardinal and some insect.
- I like the thrill of buying a rare expensive beanie baby for $6.00. That truly is a great thrill!
- My father keeps telling me this craze will not last much longer and I'm nuts for standing in lines to purcahse Beanies for 6+ hours with all three of my children, but I enjoy it and I don't care if their market value drops! To me it is worth every minute spent.
- I believe the prices of the new Beanies, i.e. Ants, Rocket, etc., is way too high for new Beanies. They are hard to find and, usually, out of reach for most people. It is a shame that so many children must do without these cute beanies because of inflated prices. We must drive a minimum of 30 miles to find a place that sells beanies only to find that the price is too high to be reasonable. I am very disappointed in Ty Beanie Babies.
- I don't like how people are selling them for high prices and kids like me can't buy them or we can't find them in stores cause all the adults take them!
- beanies are cool!
- I hate how people buy them just to resell.
- Greedy adult collectors are out of control. I am tired of seeing them in the stores and at Beanie shows with their attitudes and strange ideas as to what their Beanies are worth. These same people are rude to children and tend to be annoyed when asked even the simplest question by kids.
- Chocolate will never retire because it is the only one of original 9 not netired and I think Ty want to always have one of the originals around!
- I only wish all retailers would be fair in putting out all their inventory at the same price. (no higher than $7.00) I hate having to buy extra beanies I don't need in hopes they will retire, go up in price so that I can trade for the ones I do need for my 3 children. It's becoming such a pain that I and many other mothers are losing interest in this whole beanie babies mess.
- no
- I find it sad that adult collectors seem to be so greedy with a product meant for kids. I once saw a woman in line with a basket containing 3 Peaces. (That was the limit.) They were the last in the store. A little girl about 7 years old was staring wistfully at the basket - almost looking like she wanted to ask the lady for just one of the beanies, but was sure that the answer would be no. Couldn't this fanatic have just taken one for a personal collection? It's wrong that the adults should take away t
e beloved toys meant for children.

- Yo the Chawowwa
- I hate when people try to sell May retireds for over $50.
- I wish they'd be more timely with introductions. They have a graduation owl and you couldn't buy it if you wanted to for a graduation gift. Also, Glory would have been great to have out July 4! And when you go to a flea market and see a lot of the new ones with outrageous prices you have to wonder what dealer is selling them to make more of a profit. You hate to think that people are being greedy, but when you see it time after time, you can't help but feel that way. I also really get frustrated w
en a dealer has a sign above some of the more sought after bears that says "Secondary Market." My husband says we should report these dealers, but I'm not sure how to do that. Do we contact Ty directly? Our daughter goes to a private school and they have a fund raiser (auction) every year so we've started buying Beanies to donate to the school for their auction. The prices that current ones brought this past year was crazy. People really love these little critters! It's hard not to.
- Have not seen any new ones in Phoenix. Where are they being distributed? I would like to see a pillow pal like Whisper. The moose pillow pal - Mortimer- is being used for cry therapy in my office. He just is hugable and looks up at you with the words -" tell me all your troubles, honey". He gets lots of hugs.
- I WOULD MUCH RATHER LIKE FOR THE COUNTERFIET BB TO BE DESTROYED. I DON'T THINK IT'S FAIR TO THE PEOPLE THAT ARE NEW TO COLLECTING SUCH AS MYSELF TO BE DISCOURAGED BECAUSE OF STUPID GREEDY PEOPLE
- Beaniemom is great but I wish the news of new beanies should stay up longer. I check about once every two weeks and sometimes I miss the announcements.
- Would love to see a tiedye rabbit join the rest.
- How much does Clubby cost?
- i think that by the year 2000, the secondary market will be gone, and that the only beanies that will hold any value will be the bears because bear collecters never die!!!!!
- TY KEEP IT UP!!
- Sales of the New Releases from 50 to 150 dollars! This is rediculous! Retailers or Ty has to be responsible for the early releases to these people.I feel the Beanie Market is here to stay, but if not, still a wonderful tool for the children and grandchildren to learn about the diffferent animals.I would love to see an Angel Bear, since the craze over Garcia and Princess, every child needs a quardian angel.Retirement(Ty will pull the new birds so price will sky rockety)Thanks, Brenda
- the new bb r by far some of the best, need to release more to the good dealers to knock out the secon dary market. the people at okbrk r the best bravo 2 ty
- beanie clothes for infant's
- The counterfeits are going to hurt the Beanie Baby market.
- I love beanies no matter what!!
- I hate the way stores hold back BB and overprice and play games with the buyer. I hate the secondary markt and am very disgusted with the people who use the secondary market. What can be done about it ? Will Ty ever listen to us the consumr. They should make more bears and new ones. Please let them know how people feel.
- I would like to see a beanie baby that looks like a deer.
- I dislike the high prices and the trouble tofind them
- No answers above mean, I like them all, I will buy whatever I can find at the local hallmark store for $5. And I will buy the 4 new ones I don't have, Whisper, Gigi, Glory, and Ant. I have all the others. I might buy a retired off the internet.
- I would like to know how to obtain a number to receive beanie babies at a wholesale price or how to become a retailer
- Here in California for the last two months it seems that "generation tags" have no meaning unless they are 3rd and older. I only started collecting in Mid 97'. I wish they secondary market in my area would put more value on 4th gen. Instead of lumping them together with 5th. Cn you imagine buying a 20th generation Chocolate? Authenticate your Beanies and give them their appropriate value!!!
- i lied
- I love beanies, but I am very dissapointed that some greedy adults are taking beanie buying opportunities from children-whom they were made for- just to sell them again for more, and making it imossible for the children to ever get their own Princess, Erin,Glory,Fortune, or any other HTF's for a price they can afford, therefore, causing many little hearts to break.
- Make the bears more available to kids.
- A Princess Bear Retirement on the Anniversary of Princess Diana's Death/Retailers like Hallmark are charging outrageous prices all over the U.S./Ty needs to start sending out undercover Ty representatives to keep an eye on these greedy retailers!!!!
- beanies bring great enjoyment!
- Why does the secondary market have the new beanies first? Asking 35.00 ??
- I'm pretty sure that Beanie Babies are just a fad, but I may be WRONG!
- More Stores should offer Childrens trading/buying days to give kids a chance to spend their allowances.
- I cannot stand the fact that the newest beanies are so hard to get and so expensive!!It doesn't seem fair and it takes the fun out of trying to guess which beanie will be more valuable amongst the oldies but goodies.
- Next retirement wave I predict, Princess, Valentino, Curly and Peace will be the bears that will retire, along with all the current beanies made between 1993 and 1996. Maple, will not be, because it was just put back into production and now the US has another exclusive bear...and thousands of Canadians are waiting for Maple (and already have most of the beanies they want!
- TY should make another horse
- I think I a year or two the Beanie Baby values are going to all drop to under $10.00 when they become unpopular. So I'd say collect all the valuables you can get and sell them fast!
- Thanks for making beanies, there the bomb.
- I don't like retailers limiting you to one bear , If they received 2 or 3 styles they should sell you 1 of each, not one bear period.
- I think stores should sell every beanie for the same price.
- PREDICT.......CURLY & TUFFY RETIRE(MATERIAL COSTS)
- I like when you retire beanies. If i sold all my retireds i could get alot of money.
- it's addictive
- I love Beanie Babies and I really wish they weren't so expensive.
- I hate those retailers, (of the many,) that sell beanies for $6! They only aim for personal gain. And they are TY retailers! Believe me, I complained many times!
- I think that retailer shouldn't have the right to sell over the price that TY has promised for currents. If you choose to go to the secondary market for a retired beanie I would expect to pay a higher price but, I think it's a rip off to have to pay more than the $7.99 price that TY has told there retailers to sell for, seeing as though they get them for$2.00 a piece. I do not buy from anyone that sells over the $7.99 for a current no matter what it is. I do however go to the secondary market for the r
tireds. Everyone that I have talked to has pretty well shared these same feelings.
- TY should make a wolf beanie
- When buying the new releases beanies a customer should be limited to one per style of beanie. Most of the retailers around here where I live are unfair. I would have to buy 3 of the regular current beanies to1 of the new releases. Most of us collecters already have the regular current beanies so we are being punished by having to buy more or not get the latest ones.

- My dislike would be the secondary market ... I have found that I can get a Princess for 5.99 whereas a 2ndary store is selling her for $99.00 !!!What kinda people do they think they are? I would like to start selling beanies as an authorized dealer but I have found that they stopped giving appllications :(.
- I think the secondary market is missing things up for the kids to buy beanies which is who they were intended for in the first place!!!!!
- I believe that beanie babies are the best thing to happen to the stuffed toy market.
- I DIS-likeadults trying to hog the Beanie babies.I think they should be able to collect them, just not get every Beanie Baby in sight then not leave any for kids and then joke about it by saying "O h when I saw (Beanie's name)I grabbed all of them in sight to sell!"(laugh.laugh.)
- More sitting up bears with patches.
- Distribution of new beanies by Ty is too slow and too lopsided. Many retailers have had more than one shipment, and others have had none.
- I dislike retailers who sell new beanie babies for more than $5.50.
- Retailers selling on the secondary market.
- i would like predictions on anything on beanies
- The holiday bears retire quickly i think
- I would like to see more beanies being shipped to Official Ty retailers, so that the average person can purchase them at resaonable prices. As is stands right now Ty only ships 36 pieces per item to the stores in my area.
- I love them all. I just wish there was more control when they come in to the stores. I work day shift and by the time I go to the stores the good ones are already gone. I would love to get my favorite one "Peace" but never get the chance because they sell out within a half hour. The stores wont hold them. They sould allow only one per customer. I hope I can get him before he retires.
- prices on secondary too high, also store prices too high on retireds
- I think that that Beanie Babies are a good future education , college as my parents say.But I think that it would be a good shopping spree if I decide to sell anyway.
- They should send maple out to the united states
- I would love to see a Chinese Crested in the dog's and a few more bears so they would not be so hard to get
- I would like to find those that are considered "most difficult to find." Many authorized Ty dealers need to put a limit of one special beanie per day. And they should not be allowed to sell to secondary markets in bulk. We have seen this happen so many times and it is very frustrating. We would like to at least TRY and find Fortune, Glory, Princess, Erin, Peace, and Valentino for $5.99!!
- Beanie Babies are addictive!!!!!
- Beanie Babies are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I just hope this all dosen't fold up too soon. It seems prices are already falling a bit!
- New releases are oriented to a particular event, such as wise the owl for the 98 graduates, but it is now July and most stores where I live didn't even get one shipment??!!
- I just hope this all dosen't fold up too soon. It seems prices are already falling a bit!
- I love them all!!!
- Stop the sports commemorative beanies - this drives down the value of regular ones! It's creating a different collector and will eventually stop the regular collector.
- I just hope this all dosen't fold up too soon. It seems prices are already falling a bit!
- i would just like to say BEANIE BABIES RRRRRock!!!!!! i remember my first beanie was chops the day after i got the tbb chops!!! it was sooooo cool right now i have the limited edition clubby in my hands its up for bids so E-mail me if u r intrested bids start at $10 my screen name is xpap bye no if u want clubby (only 1,000 made) for 10 dollars my screen name is xpap so E-mail me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bye! :)
- secondary market sucks
- i LOVE beanie babies and i like clubby best
- I like the idea of giving out beanie babies at sports games but I hate it when they are overpriced. They may retire the Princess and change the tag. And I hate it when ty distrubutors are distrubuting beanies unevenly.
- some people sell them to much!!!!!!!!!
- Way too many retailers are over-pricing BBs. It needs to be stopped!!!
- Beanie Babies made me sell my house
- I love Beanie Babies but I don't really think it's fair to sale Beanies over $20.00.
- keep them coming
- I don't like that so many people stock up just to make money when many just want one and they can't get them because they sell out too fast.
- seaweed will be retired in october
- I don't like that so many people stock up just to make money when many just want one and they can't get them because they sell out too fast.
- Ithink all stores should sell their in-stock Beanie Babies for $5 each (current & retired). In our area, some stores sell them for $5 and others for $7.99. One store is offering Erin for $5 with $150 additional purchase. I don't think this is right.
- Love beanies...hate how the secondary markets raise the prices of even new ones so much that they are totally unabtainable for the children who would really like to have them. If I'm crazy enough to stand in line and pay over retail, that's my head trip...but a little 4 or 5 year old who is just hold ing their breath for a "cute little teddy bear with stars all over it", which is how they see it, becomes almost an impossible item to obtain for that child! I appreciate Ty Warner for controlling his co
porations pricing therefore allowing those that would just like to own them a chance. The retail stores that are dealing in secondary markets that receive bagfuls from who knows what illegal source should be prohibited from marketing them in their retail stores.
- Ithink all stores should sell their in-stock Beanie Babies for $5 each (current & retired). In our area, some stores sell them for $5 and others for $7.99. One store is offering Erin for $5 with $150 additional purchase. I don't think this is right.
- I think all BB should be displayed and sold. No waiting, no lists. one for each customer.
- Beanie Babies Rule!!!! They should be for kids and casual collectors, not resellers.
- waiting so long to get new ones
- i think only authorized ty dealers should be able to sell beanies. the secondary market is making way too much money off beanies. children and adults that don't have a lot of money to invest or are not collecting to resell can't afford to buy from secondary markets. i think any authorized ty dealer caught selling to secondary markets should never be able to buy from ty again. THANKS
- I think Beanie Babies rule!!
- Beanies are addictive! I was just going to buy one but then I found another that I liked, and another, and another...... I love Beanies!
- I own one Zip. I got him in 1995 before I knew there was a "craze." I think it's absurd that he's now worth so much. This whole phenomenon is a pathetic example of materialism gone rampant and people misplacing their desires. I feel sorry for people who spend so much money on bean bag animals. When the bottom falls out of the market in a few years, what will you be left with? Take your money and invest it more wisely, and take your energies and use them to help people rather than just to buy toys
for yourself.
- They are very addictive little creatures....=o)
- w45tqwert
- I can't wait until I receive CLUBBY!
- i think chocolate will go retired next.
- Secondary Market is way too greedy and spoil the fun of collecting for everyone.
- I love collecting Beanies, I just wish they weren't so hard to get and that they weren't so expensive through retailers. Its hard to find retailers out there who will sell them for $5 anymore.
- I DON'T LIKE THAT SOME STORES THAT SELL BEANIE BABIES RAISE THE PRICE. LIKE THEY BUY ERIN AT $2.50 FROM TY AND SELL ERIN AT $290 AT THEIR STORE!!!!!!!
- I think its too difficult to find and purchase teddies from retailers unless you can stand outside their door at midnight before they go on sale. I can't and have a very difficult time finding any.
- i love beanie babies!
- I wish the new ones recently introduced were locally found
- i think that the dealers need to think about kids more and not making more money for themselves!
- I think that the secondary market is SO UNFAIR!!! There are so many adorable, cute Beanie Babies around, and I can't obtain most of what I desire because they're "out of our price range" {as my mother says.} Lots of people I know say not to worry, that this trend will come and go as did the Tamagotchi craze, but I'm uncertain, plus I DON'T WANT TO WAIT!!! The most expensive Beanie Baby I have purchased is Chops the Lamb, who is cute, and I love him to pieces, but I pine {I'm being dramatic} for Bumble
he Bee {with a 4th generation hang tag...I love the poem}, the most appealing Beanie in the whole TY selection to me. I wish all Beanies could sell for five dollars each. That was how it was meant to be.
- I dislike the new editions starting out so hot and expensive! I think they should have to climb the ladder in order to be considered valuable!
- I think that the secondary market is SO UNFAIR!!! - I'd enjoy a rat beanie baby.
- I think that the BEANIES should not be available to employees unless they stand in line like the rest of us. In other words, they should not be allowed to "hold back" personal choices for their own purchase.
- When the new ones come to the stores they are gone before you even hear about them.
- I really enjoy collecting beanie babies for myself and as gifts for my family. I can
- This Beanie Baby thing is getting crazy...BB's are too hard to get these days.
- Ty should be stricker with retailers in regard to the prices they charge for beanies. It should be possible for a person to afford all beanies without having to go to secondary markets to find the ones they need to complete their collection.
- i love buying them!
- its funny cause when im trying to get caught up on the current ones and get a few retired ones you all come out with 15 new ones. Its hard to get caught up, but the chase is fun!! Keep up the good work!
- One thin I dislike are authorized dealers to do is sell beanie babies for more than what their release price is.
- This started out as a great deal for kids...but the secondary market and greedy retailers are selling even the "new" beanies for ridiculous prices, ones that children could never be able to touch. I collect, but it is for my own pleasure, not greed....I wish that other adults would at least give kids a crack at obtaining beanies at reasonable prices before they (the adults) begin hoarding them for resale.
- make them cheaper
- IDO YOU HAVE AN Y4.99 BEANIES THAT ARE BIRDIES
- I dislike it when a purshase is required for the purchase of another beanie baby that is in higher demand. For example, At one store, I had to buy one current beanie to get a new current beanie.
- lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala
- I wish that you could find Princess and Erin in the stores. I will not pay more than $6.00 for any of the Beanie Babies since they are for my children. We love the beanies and enjoy finding them at a reasonable price.
- I wish people wouldn't make the new Beanies so expensive.I like all the Beanies TY has made.I dislike that the discontinue Beanies so at one point they get too expensive to afford.I do like that I can sell them for lots of money at one point though.I wish that instead of fortune they should of made Lunar the bear like they were going to.
- I love beanies!!!
- i would like to buy alot more because right now i don't have all that many
- I demand more Beanie Bay penguins! Penguins! Penguins! Penguins penguins penguins!
- I PERSONALLY HAVE NOTICED THAT THE BEANIE MARKET SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING...NOT THE SAME INTEREST IS BEING GENERATED.....HOPE IT PERKS UP A LITTLE....
- I don't like the fact that Glory is being sold for way to much money
- I'm very distressed with the people gouging the prices for the recent additional 14 beanies. I think this totally defeats Ty's purpose of having an affordable toy for children.
- Not At This Time. Thanks!
- Beanie Baby collecting is a great hobby for children because it is such an affordable, wholesome activity. I like them all and give them to my five grandchildren.
- I love them!!!!
- It's Cool
- i neeeeeeeeed the beanie babies!!!!!!!
- it is like a crazy trend
- I wish more chains would sell them, and you could be able to purchase them off TY.com for normal store prices
- Many secondary market shops in the Minneapolis area are out of business. The strength of beanie baby collecting for monitary gain has a very weak foundation. Beanie baby values are stable to falling and will need a new foundation for long term value growth. Ty hurt itself by crapping on the customer!!!!!
- I think Ty should make the secondary market have a restriction on how much the retailers can sell beanies for, because some sre just way to much.
- The ty company retires too many beanies a year!!!
- I think there should be a girl Glory bear named Gloria She should be blue with whit and red stars and the USA flag
- i don't think that brittania and erin and princess and peace should have high prices
- I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT THE 2NDARY MARKET GETS NEW BEANIES EVEN BEFORE WE SEE THEM ON THE SHELVES!!!!!
- I think it is great that children now have something cool to collect and play with!
- I thought Beanie Babies were supposed to be for kids!
- I like Beanies a-lot!!!
- I think you have to "KNOW" some one to get the more popular ones. I don't like how some stores cater to "special" people. I think this has gotten way out of control and I am personally sick of it!
- Authorized retailers should not be able to choose beanie babies out of their shipments and put them away or give them to friends ( Princess or any bears). I have spoke to several retailers who have admittedly stated that they give them to friends or auction them off to the highest bidder, or even give them to their best customers. This is very unfair.
- Do not release so many at a time
- I like Clubby, it looks gorgeous. Very much dislike the colorings on Glory.
- I feel that the secondary market is very unfair....
- We have trouble finding many BB's here in Hawaii!
- People are nuts to pay the prices they are paying! They have outpriced children's piggy banks. One retailer told me a customer told her she should not sell to children.! Come on now! Aren't these supposed to be for children???!!!!! It is about time that these cute little critters be given back to the CHILDREN.
- I dislike the fact that Ty has discontinued to supply the main store in Renton, Washington ( Creative Treasures ).
- I do not like the retailers who get in shipments, keep them in the back, and only offer them to certain people. I'm also amazed at the stores that still get away with selling them for $9.00. As far as future beanies, I would love it if Ty would take ideas from the public. I would love to see a peacock, another butterfly, a dragonfly, a donkey, a wolf, a cardinal, a seahorse, to name a few.
- Im excited to get the parrot. I was hoping they would make one. Even considered writing TY to ask them to make a parrot. Then, today, I saw in a book that they HAD made a parrot for this year!! Cant wait to pick that one up. Guess I just look for those that I like. Today, I just purchased my most expensive beanie yet, the Glory bear from the Denver "All-Star" game, with commemorative card and a ticket stub. I am excited to have it. Hope to buy Princess and Erin soon.
- I know that Beanies have become a recent "obsession"/hobby of mine. It has been exciting for my daughter and me-searching for the best deals. We are about to venture into the trade market to acquire some retired beanies that we do not have. We recently purchased Mary Beth's Beanie magazine and have learned an amazing amount of information on past and possible trends, so we are planning to track the trends of the new releases. Good news! We accidently walked into a little store that just received a
shipment of the new releases. We got 6 ! Yay. The enjoyment has been great.
- My husband thinks I'm sick in the head and need professional help =) He might be right, but I have a lot of friends to be with at the looney bin.
- The secondary market stinks. People should not be allowed to sell beanies on the Internet. I bought a zip the cat on the Internet and It had a hole. Two holes as a matter of fact. It was not in mint condition what so ever. I am currently sueing the person who sold me this beanie.
- We wish it wasn't so hard to find them. We have only found 5 of the new BBs after they have been out for a month.
- We wish it wasn't so hard to find them. We have only found 5 of the new BBs after they have been out for a month.
- what i dislike about all of this is the dealers that save all the good beanies for there friends and when i go to a show and see dealers with cases of hard to find beanies whats going on out there
- i'd like to see consistent practice followed by primary vendors when putting beanies out. working women don;t have the opportunity to get the new ones for several months as most are put on shelves during work hours.
- Hallmark Stores and Authorized Dealers should sell Princess and Erin at the regular price of $5.99 and not $50 to $75. These beanies do not cost these dealers any more than the common beanies. Maybe if TY would allow collector's to purchase direct this would stop.
- I am very upset that the May, 1998 new releases have been unavailable for purchase. They are just now trickling out on the market. I am also upset with the fact that some of the TV shopping clubs have these new releases and are selling on the secondary market way over affordable
- I like Beanies!!!
- I think that people are wasting their money on stupid stuffed animals that will go out of style soon!
- I don't like retailers jacking up the prices just to make more money for themselves, especially off princess (which is supposed to be for charity).
- I think TY should come out with another Princess that is not hard to find.
- I love beanies! I dislike the fact that people seem to know what stores got new shipments the night before they are put out and those people camp out all night then buy up all the new ones and resell them.
- Clubby is the best!
- Wish they'd reintroduce the dinosaurs...
- I think people should stop selling Beanies for more than 5$ because than Beanie fans won't buy them. : ) Thanx!
- I sell Beanies however, I do not like secondary market dealers who gouge the people. I make enough to pay for my collection. I will not shop in any store that sells their beanies for more than $6.
- Dislike parents who send their children in to buy beanies when they have already bought their limit.
- I think the retailers should be controlled better and not be allowed to require you to purchase 12 or 15 of the common beanie babies in order to purchase an Erin or Princess or Maple or any of the other newer and more popular ones. I already have all of them available (except some early retiired ones) and think that is extortion to hold us hostage to purchase ones we do not want or need for our collection. I can give you the names of at least 3 dealers in Canada that do this.
- I wish I could catch the new releases, always a day late!!!!!!
- I really hate that people are getting rich off of this!! I think that people shouldn't be able to sell any beanie for more than $10 on the secondary marker
- It's very difficult for me to get beanies because I work during the day and when the beanies come into the stores, there are usually the some greedy 20-30 pushing, shoving and swearing. I can't hang around to be abused because I took a coffee break to run to the store. I feel sorry for the average retailer and what they have to put up with. Maybe if Ty made many more, we working people wouldn't have to miss out.
- When are the new ones officially going to come out?
- I like the fact that, with luck, I can purchase a sought after Beanie Baby for around $5.00.
- i think that they should start to make more dino beanies
- i wish the bears wer more reasonable and easier to find!
- I really have a problem with the authorized retailers holding back their stock of beanies to sell at shows or to secondary markets. Several "authorized retailers" in my area do this and it is very dishonest. I think Ty should take action with these retailers. Collectors are being treated unfairly by several retailers. Many retailers won't put their stock out if they know familiar faces are near by, causing collectors to basically stake out stores to get beanies, what a drag :(
- beanie Babies are the coolest things since sliced bread!!!!
- I think that Ty should come out with a poodle named Copper! I have over 110 Beanie Babies in my collection. I just wish I had thought of them. They're only cloth stuffed with beans!!! Beanies are VERY COOL!!!!!
- i think all stores that get beanie baby bears should put them on there shelves so everyone has a cance to get them
- BEANIE BABIES ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!
- Ty is way to greedy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I hate that people sell beanies for more than $5.99 when they are not even retired. Also you people need to update your infromation. For example Glory the new bear is not on your lists, Princess is als not on some lists.
- I hate that people sell beanies for more than $5.99 when they are not even retired. Also you people need to update your infromation. For example Glory the new bear is not on your lists, Princess is als not on some lists.
- I have come across 2 retailers that will only sell to adults (must show valid DL to purchase) that is quite ridiculous since beanies are supposed to be for kids to collect. My 15 yr. old was refused a sale because she didn't have a DL.
- i think some retailers should lower there prices
- Keep the beanies flowing!!
- I liked your survey! It was really cool and FUN!
- I don't like that the secondary market obtains beanies faster than authorized retailers. How did the flea market vendors have cases of the TBBs when McD's didn't have them???
- pat's hallmark in duluth, georgia (suburb outside of atlanta) is an authorized retailer of ty beanies, yet marks up all current bears...do not support this business and any others not operating under the ty rules!
- i hate unethical retailers and want to know where to report them....
- I really think TY will start retiring bears, so hurry out and get them!
- I don't like it when a new beanie retires before it can even get on the market good.
- I think that authorized dealers selling current Beanies, including Erin, Princess, Peace, Valentino, Curly, and all the new releases for more than 4-6.99 should no longer be allowed to carry Ty merchandise.
- BEANIE BABIES RULE!!! ;)~
- I think that the BB market is a good one for kids to get into because it is good clean fun. However, I believe that their are many retailers who try to take advantage of this market and this is not fair for younger ones.
- I feel retailers could limit sales of beanies to 3 per day to each person so more people have a chance to buy all of them. Also more Beanie Babies available through TY'S offical beanie club. Keep the prices low, and somehow offical TY dealers should not be allowed to sell new Beanies for more than ten dollars!
- I think TY should start making the older reitreds again. Many people want them, but prices are too high.& most people have all the currents & just need the retireds.
- Nope
- I absolutly love beanies but I hate waiting in line for them. I figure that if I wait for a little while I'll get them all eventually. They are very popular. I love Glory and Fetch. They are darling.
- Ty should come out with a sea star beanie
- They should not retire so soon
- I love beanie babies but the only problem is that some people sell the beanie babies to high in price and kids and even little kids aren't able to finish are collection because we can't get the retired beanies because they are high in price!
- I would like counterfieting stopped... unlikely
- I collect beanies by chance primarily. Most of my collection was obtained by just happening to be in the right store at the right time. I would be happier if beanies weren't so hard to find and cost so much. I work full time during prime time beanie swamps. All new and hard-to- come- by are usually sold by 5pm. And my ethics won't allow call-in sick as a way to beanie hunt when the stores have new shipments.
- The Retailers are shipped only limited quantities of the new beanies and the cell phone vultures take them all for months! It's frustrating.
- Ty should have a hotline for reporting Ty dealers that sell to the secondary market!!
- I still don't get it, but my kids love them, and they are harmless, cute, little toys.
- I AND 3 OTHER FRIENDS JUST STARTED COLLECTING BEANIES. WE ALL WORK FULL TIME AND THERE IS NO WAY WE CAN BE AT THE TY DEALERS WHEN SHIPMENTS COME IN. CONSEQUENTLY, ALL THE "NEW" AND "REASONABLE" BEANIES ARE GONE BY THE TIME WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY AT LUNCH TIME TO GET TO THE STORES. IT'S JUST NOT FAIR! WORKING MOTHERS NEED A BEANIE BREAK!
- It would be interesting to know exactly how many beanies are shipped to retailors as opposed to how many actually are put out for purchase. Hallmarks seems to have their own pricing tables and sell according to "their" own agenda
- SPICE GIRLS
- no
- hope they are popular for a long while,i like the retail price . i do not like some of the high prices just because a beanie is retired.i predict people will want beanie that they can put clothes on and dress up.
- I think that ty should find out which retailers are selling at extraordinarily high prices (ie: $50 for Princess) and charge those retailers higher prices to penalize them for "cashing in" on the popularity of certain beanies.
- hope they are popular for a long while,i like the retail price . i do not like some of the high prices just because a beanie is retired.i predict people will want beanie that they can put clothes on and dress up.
- NO!
- retailers should be able to charge any price they want to, if the consumer thinks it is too high then they will go somewhere else.
- Like thousands of others I entered the Beanie Mania with the 1998 TBB promotion and got REALLY hooked quickly. I have been in a buying frenzy. I have got to slllooowww down and it makes me sad. There are so many old ones I don't have and will likely never see, much less own. I wish Ty had not retired so many.
- Beanies are addictive to collect. The thrill of the hunt has become more important than the beanie. Rumors of princess retiring because of a name problem with the royal family letting TY use this name?? Hope to see glory come down to a resonable price soon!! Looking forward to getting clubbie from TY!!! Thats It!!
- These are so much fun, and not overly expensive
- When I began collecting them for my son it was much more enjoyable than it is now. People weren't as greedy they were much friendlier. The whole thing has gotten out of hand, it is no longer for the children.
- More Bears!!!
- Our neighborhood storess do not sell the bears. These they sell under thr counter for much higher profits. I'm sad for the kids who love these beanies.
- It would be great if TY would let consumers buy directly from TY's warehouse. Let's cut out the seconday market rates.
- Adults have become too greedy and it is hurting the children who have a limited amount of money to spend on beanies.
- They're adorable.
- Again, and again, you see the new releases on the secondary market, before they are in the stores. Ty will never be able to put a stop to retailers selling out the back door to secondary dealers. Whats angers me, is you go into a Ty retailer, and they will have a Princess, or an Erin, but they are asking high prices, because"Oh, I got that one from my niece".....Now they lie to mark up the price. Guess they were too high for the secondary guys!
- yes, i want my birthday!! january 11 beanie!
- I dilike ty dealers charging 100's of dollars for beanies, especially the bears.
- The Beanie Babies are addictive. I wish Ty Warner would find a source other than China to manufacter the Beanies.
- Buy Ty Attics now, they're the next craze!
- I buy beannie babies for my daughters because they love them and have not intention of reselling them. One manager from a store I visited has decided not to sell beanie babies anymore because they were tired of grown women fighting over them. What does
- It bothers me the way that the prices of the new ones are so high. It is impossible for me to find any for my daughter at a reasonable price.
- I love the design and fabric of each animal. They are adorable. I find it frustrating not to be able to obtain the new beanies when the secondary market and home shopping clubs are selling them already.
- Why?! why!? DOES IT TAKE SO LONG FOR SHIPPMENTS TO GET TO LOCAL STORES. I TRIED TO COMMENT ON A TV SHOW THAT SELLS HUGH QUANITIES OF BEANIES BUT MY COMMENTS WERE DELETED BY AOL. HOW DO THOSE TV SHOWS GET SUCH LARGE SHIPPMENTS ,WHEN I AS A LOCAL COMSUMER CAN'T GET THEM AT UNLESS I PAY ALMOST $100 AND UP. TO REACH THE STORES. TY OR SOMEONE SEEMS TO HAVE VERY POOR CONTROL OF HOW SHIPMENTS OR THERE ORDERS ARE RELEASED. ON TY DEALER , IN VERMONT WHO I HAVE DEAL WITH FOR A VERY LONG TIME, TOLD ME SHE
IS BACK ORDERED 17 DOZEN PRINCESSES. I THINK EITHER SOMEONE IS SELLING " OUT THE BACK DOOR" . OTHERWISE HOW WOULD TV SHOWS LIKE " I SHOP AT HOME" GET SUCH A LARGE SUPPLY.
- The fun is gone for the children now, greedy adults have taken over.
- i love beanies and i'm never going to stop collecting them
- I have seen some sugestions on creating a Teddy Bear in rememberance of the P.O.W.'s & M.I.A.'s. I think that would be a teriffic idea, and it would encompass more collectors.
- I LOVE BEANIES!! I just wish that the secondary market people would stop buying them all up and then selling them for way too high prices!!
- Retailers do not know what will be in their shipments or when their shipments will arrive.
- The introduction of Erin made it hard to get..like Princess. If you are going to sell them ..then, sell them and don't make it to hard for the children to get them!!
- I HATE HAVING TO WAIT MONTHS FOR NEW RELEASES TO SHOW UP, I LOSE INTEREST!!
- i love them!!!
- I am a new collector and have been able to find most of my beanie babies for no more than $7 each. I have paid $20 for 2 cats in my collection, but with the help of Mary Beth's Beanie World Magazine I at least am aware of what to pay for the retired and what is priced too high!
- I wish more people would trade, I also wish people would remember what they paid not what a beanie is worth before trading...I have traded with children and gave them retireds for commons because it feels good to make someone very happy.I even sent princess to someone over the net for nothing....she was just very nice and wanted it for her little brother who is handicaped..We have become good friends...Its nice to meet people in other places because of a common interest...
- I hope the beanie craze lasts a long time.
- What I dislike about buying beanie babies is that you can not always get the beanies you want because most ty dealer stores try to sell the hard to find beanies with other things. I do not think that is right. The new collectors will never be able to get what they are looking for at an honest price.
- I think it is ridiculous that people pay and charge high prices for a bag full of beans. These are childrens toys and I think it is sad that they can't get these toys because of greedy people.
- I know that certain stores in my area are receiving the new styles but sell them initially to guaranteed secondary marketeers due to the tremedous profit. I was confused why the new styles were being sold at flea markets and special sales long before they were available at retailers and I was told that "why in the world would a retailer sell the Beanies for $5.99-$6.99 when we agree ahead of time to pay cash under the table for a much higher price and buy all they have arrive? The revenue is easily c
vered by sales of older styles due to the profit margin!" I was astounded. I thought the black-market trade was something left done in 3rd world countries!
- I think dealers are selling out the back door to secondary market people. This takes the fun out of collecting and has made me consider stopping. I rarely search for beanies anymore because of this.
- I fell so much in love with my Roary beanie that my boyfriend suggested I cut his tag off so he (Roary) didn't think he was just a collectible. I did, and he is now sure that he will not be sold or traded.
- I think it's ridiculous for people to speculate about retiring any of the holiday-related bears (Valentino, Erin, Glory)...These are perennial favorites and Ty can sell all of them that they make, so why fuel the secondary market?
- Beanies are the greatest and they are keeping me very busy. Yes, I admit I have thought about following the UPS truck before. I call about 20 different places everyday to see if they got a new shipment in. I just love beanies!!!
- I dislike how stores make people wait in long lines for beanies when they could just put them out when they come in.
- I think TY should hold releasing new beanies until they have production up to supply all the retail stores before secondary market gets them.
- I am very disgusted because all of the secondary markets seem to have the new releases a lot sooner than the primary retailers.
- why do retailers always jack up the prices? bb's are supposed to be for kids!! what about those poor kids who can't even afford a bear?? they are deprived fom the toys they want. adullts should be restricted from buying bb's. kids only!
- My 2 daughters, and neice started collecting beanies, their passion combined with me having to drive them to look for the little treasures has brought us closer in many ways. My sister in-law has joined us in the collecting fury, we have fun spending time together. This shared hobby is an excellent way for many families to have fun and spend valued time together.
- I feel that the lion "Roary" may end up being retired soon because that is also the name of the Detroit Lions mascot. It seems that everytime TY names something that is a name close to or the same as another company or team it is retired!!!
- Beanie Babies Stink
- My 2 daughters, and neice started collecting beanies, their passion combined with me having to drive them to look for the little treasures has brought us closer in many ways. My sister in-law has joined us in the collecting fury, we have fun spending time together. This shared hobby is an excellent way for many families to have fun and spend valued time together.
- Some are too hard to get, the person in front of you just bought the last of what you waited in line for, etc.
- I'm very new at it but VERY VERY hooked!
- It is frustrating when they make you buy 11 easily found items just to get one of the poplular ones. It is also not right to see the new ones wrapped in a group package with a $100 price tag for an item worth perhaps $15.00. I saw the bluebird and a cat with a basket of coffees and it was $109.00. I didn't buy it!!!!
- PEOPLE NEED TO QUIT BEING SO GREEDY
- Clubby RULES!!!
- I think that they will probubly retire Erin in the fall.
- love them all
- I think the secondary market puts prices way to high. If beanie babies are supposed to be for "children" then why in the heck does the secondary market sell them for hundreds of dollars?
- I hate when a store puts a condition in order to be able to purchase a new beanie baby. Such as having to purchase 5 current beanies in order to buy one of the new ones. Very unfair. I totally agree in having a puchase limit but not having a condition attached to a sale.
- I love Beanies, but most of the prices on the secondary market are ridiculous.
- How do I report an unethical Ty dealer who is selling new beanies for $100 each right out of the Ty box?
- I think it is too bad that children can't have first pick of the newest and neatest ... for instance, all children want Princess! But the price is so out of reach. It's a toy, for crying out loud!
- qDon't let people sell the bears for more, some kids can't even pay that much but we love them!!
- I think the Ty coorporation is way too slow on getting their products to retailers and it is very, very annoying!!!!! I love beanies ,though!
- I hate people making money off Princess Di's death by selling Princess for more than $5. Sure, people say they are making money off a small, stuffed toy. However, if she hadn't tradgically died, then Ty wouldn't have introduced Princess, and you wouldn't have money in your pocket from selling her.
- I wish they didn't cost so much! What started out as a child's toy has become a wild, expensive addiction for adults!
- i think all beanies shoud be sold for 5$-7$ (not counting retireds)
- i would like to say that i think it is unethical for retailers to sell retired beanies at secondary prices. don't you think that it is a double standard to be able to sell at primary and secondary rates. if you are a primary store you should only be allowed to sell at primary rates. it makes it hard for the serious collector!
- I don't like how stores can onlt get so many bbs at a time. And only 12 Erin and Princess's at one time.
- I don't like when ty dealers sell bb for more than 5.00
- YOU NEED A STARFISH
- I would like to say that I don't think it is fair the way some stores are making you purchase a certain dollar amount in other merchandise in order to buy a Beanie Baby. I think any store using this technique should be cut off from being a Beanie retailer. I also think Ty, Inc. should come up with a system that is more fair for the retailers. Those of us who work have a lot of trouble finding the more popular Beanies because as soon as they come in, the people who don't work (and also the secondary
ealers!) buy them all up before anyone else gets a chance to even see them!
- i love beanies
- I just love beanie babies, I collect them for myself, and my kids even though my son refuses to keep the tags on :) I just wish where I live they were more available, there are only two authorized dealers within 20 miles of my home, other than the internet, that is the only places I can find them without driving for an hour. I think the prices the secondary market dealers are charging is ridiculous, it makes it hard for those of us that are new to beanie collecting, to get older beanies.
-
-
- I think the company needs to come out with another fish, the last was Goldie, but the prices of Bubbles and Coral are way out of most people
- I wish TY would come to my city and get rid of the stores selling beanies at the prices we can't afford. We are just a common family trying to collect all the beanies and it is hard when they are so over priced!! Thanks for letting me have comments.
- Beanies Should cost no more than $7 unless retired.

- IMY HUSBAND AND I ENJOY COLLECTING BB. BUT I AM STOPPING BECAUSE THE RETAILERS HAVE BEEN SELLING THE BRAND NEW BB OUT THE BACK DOOR. WE ARE VERY DISGUSTED!!!
- Too hard to get new Beanies (From 98 release) Distributors must keep them for friends, etc. Not fun to collect any more. Can't get them for regular price and won't pay $40 + any more. Too many people collecting. All the same BB in the market now.
- I wish I could find the New Beanies!
- I WOULD SAY THAT MY BIGGEST COMPLAINT IS TY DEALERS WHO SELL PRINCESS, ERIN, OR WHICH EVER BEANIE IS "HOT" FOR MEGA BUCKS! I WAS IN A STORE THAT WAS SELLING ERIN FOR $250.00 EACH WHEN HE FIST CAME OUT IN MARCH! NOW HOW IS A CHILD SUPPOSED TO GET GET A BEANIE BABY AT THAT PRICE? I JUST CANT BELIEVE THE GREED OF SOME DEALERS! THEY ARE ALREADY MAKING OVER 100% PROFIT IF THEY SELL THE BEANIES FOR $5.00 TO $7.00! I THINK THAT BEANIES WILL BE AROUND FOR QUITE A WHILE BECAUSE EVEN IF THE ADULTS STOP COLLECTIN
THEM THE KIDS STILL LOVE THEM, AND THEY ARE A VERY INEXPENSIVE GIFT FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS ALIKE.
- GREEDY RETAILERS ARE THE PITS
- I don't like the fact that the New Releases are all over the net for $25 and way up but me and my kids can't find them at any of our local stores! What are they doing, sending out the back door of Ty?
- My mom and I LOVE beanies! In fact I brought some to my senior picture shooting. I think it is great that Beanies go up in price as they retire, but many retailers and secondary market sellers take this way to far. I feel very rooked when I miss out on a new beanie because a load of sellers got there first. I couldn't part with my beanies! I would never sell them unless I could use the money to buy my dream Flutter. Instead of selling, my mom and I are a beanie team! I research beanies over the
et and she pays for them. We buy TONS of beanies and give them to kids as gifts. She is even planning on taking some to the hospital to pass out to children there. She is so happy when she can offer an extra beanie, for free, to a child who has been dreaming of just that one! That is what Beanies are supposed to be about! I will probably never stop collecting and I hope and pray beanies never die!
- Some Hallmark stores charging more than TY says they should
- The latest 14 have been out long enough to be more readily available. Yet, all I see in the local outlets are the same old crowd of Beanies.
- I don't like that they are so hard to find and that Ty always back orders everything!
- Beanie Babies are at the height of their phenom. The worst is yet to come with more counterfeits sneaking into circulation. And with secondary markets prices skyrocketing the public may tire purely out of irritation. I give it another year before this craze dies down. Remember Tomagotchis?
- I hate the whole idea of counterfeiting...It's scarey.
- !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
- you left out some important beanies in you lists - ie Fleece, Twigs etc
- Beanie Accessories are a good idea.
- supply will exceed demand
- I love BB's but have stopped the madness in my life of running madly to the store that has "the latest" ones...it just got to be crazy and I have a full time job. I don't like dealers who have "favorites" but I see why they do...when a person buys $400 worth of regular Beanies then that person will certainly get the newest ones and the hard to finds. I love your new BB's and hope I will be able to acquire several of them -- I especially like Glory and Fortune and the birds -- great names!! I think s
me more retirements are in order but that's up to TY to determine. I think they should come out with a series of them, make them available for only like 6 months and then BOOM retire them...that would really get everyone. I got locked up in the McDonalds TB craze, oh my goodness!!
- I think that Ty should somehow control the price hikes on certain retired beanie babies. Kids who take up beanie collecting are not able to have a fair chance at purchasing a retiered beanie baby.
- I collect because it is fun. I don't understand why the new releases are going for over $20 on the 2ndary market. In a few months they'll be everywhere.
- I dislike the fact the new beanies are very limited in the stores especially if they are very popular. It is very disapointing to take a grandchild in a store looking for a popular beanies and find out the store only got a few in. Try explaining that to a 6 year old!!!!!
- Like spec. OBBC premium idea.Enjoy auctions.
- I think kids should be able to pay as much as they want for a Beanie Baby.
- I really like all beanies and enjoy collecting them with my grandma.
- I like beanie babies...Period!
- need tighter control on pricing and availability
- I think they should keep making more and more BBs
- I think collecting beanies is something to do and am so sorry that it has become so much a money thing for the stores. A store in Bay City , Threads Quilts and Creations has a new way of getting rid of abundunt stock. To buy a new bear you must first purchase three of their over stock. Some trick and so sad. Something fun to do has turned into a greedy hassel. I am thinking of getting out its just not as much fun.
- I think beanies ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
- na
- TY shuld let you buy them on their web page
- needs to have contests witch give mailing address becaue I am useing a library's computer and canot use internet and also needs to have coloring pages where you can print off and color yourself and then send it in to you and you can either put it on the internet or in a magazine thank you Laura scherer
- DISLIKE WAITING FOR NEW RELEAESES TO APPEAR IN SHOPS AND HOW SOME SHOPS SELL TO A SELECT GROUP OF PEOPLE
- I wish people would leave the beanies for us kids!
- THEY should make Beanie "characters" such as Saxy Kat i.e. a Cat playing a beanie saxophone w/shades and beret.
- If the secondary market becomes to greedy, then no one will be able to afford the beanie babies, then the beanie babie phenomenon
- I wish that retired beanies were less expensive so I could buy some of them. It's a $5 for goodness sake!!!
- I think Ty should make the beanies more readily available to the public so children could get them more easily. When Ty withholds them then the secondary market jumps in with extravagant prices that are way out of line and it makes it impossible to buy them for the children who I thought that Ty was originally making them for.
- No answer does not always apply sometimes can"t decide is better, also why just U.S. for contests.
- It's just a trend that will run out in a year or two.
- No answer does not always apply sometimes can"t decide is better, also why just U.S. for contests.
- I like very much that the beanies are affordable for my family to enjoy but i do not like the fact that some of the more popular beanies are being grabbed up and sold at such unreasonable prices and they are not plentiful for all to enjoy.
- i hate it when i can't find the one i want, for retail price, because it's the new phenomenon.
- Crack down on greedy retailers!
- My daughter and I love collecting beanie babies. This is a great affordable thing to get into with your kids!
- beanies are so cute it doesnt matter if they were made for kids young and old enjoy and it shouldn't matter if people are reselling although some people are way to greedy they just don't care
- I think the secondary market should not get any beanies to sell because they always raise all the prices and the only people who can get them are adults who would spend 300 on a bear. Because of the secondary market the little kids who are most into the beanie babys cant get the ones they want.
- I hope Ty Beanie Babies stay around for a long long time.
- I dislike it how the new 1998 BBs like doodle, get retired too early the new BBs shouldnt be retird till a year in a half later
- I love beanie babies, even though I just started collecting! I don't plan to spend that much, I might stop at about 50!
- I have been trying to get the new 14 releases for a month now, and no one in Orlando, FL has them. But yet I go to the Beanie Baby Shows and the secondary market has some of the new ones, what gives!
- It drives me crazy to see a dozen of a certain beanie on the internet when I cannot find them in my local stores. I understand that everyone needs to make money, but when retailer buy beanies for $2.50 each and then sell them on the internet for 100's of dollars I think it is unfair.
- I don't like the greedy secondary market people who don't give me a chance to buy Beanies.
- Retailers that buy direct should not be able to scalp prices, or sell beanies for secondary market prices. They have become greedy. Retailers that buy direct only pay $2.50 plus tax and shipping and should not be able to retail them at outrageous prices.
- I have been looking for the new releases in Dallas area and can find none. Why are they everywhere but here? I heard they were at one store, but it is not in my part of Dallas. When can I expect to find them?
- I love them. But I think the prices are out of control. Most of the time all the stores have the same beanies. The ones everyone already has.
- Difficulty finding new releases;e-mail me at caMAMAdot@aol.com
- It upsets me that when new beanies are released they "somehow" never make it on the store shelf -- but are yet widely available on the secondary market at exhorbitant prices. I don't mind the footwork to locate a beanie or the waiting and calling -- but I find it discouraging when they're snatched up or go out the back door for very profitable resale only. The issue of counterfeits is also disturbing; especially when it occurs with new or hard to find beanies -- you don't have much opportunity for co
parison. Also when they're displayed in containers and with the heart protectors, close examination is difficult since most dealers don't want you to handle the beanie much less remove the tag protection.
- Retailers should be restricted from selling certain ,current, beanie babies for such outrageous prices (i.e.Princess,Erin,Glory to name a few). Believe it or not, there are some of us who would like to have these beanies just to complete the collection-not for outrageous re-sale prices.
- I just wish they weren't so dang difficult to find these days. I often see them around for ridiculously high prices, but what happened to the days when you could drop into your local card shop and pick up a few of the latest BBs for $5? That's when it's
- i think offical ty dealers shouldnt make you spend a certain amount just to get a beanie for reagular price.I am going to start complaing to ty.
- I am curious on how to tell if you have bought a counterfiet beanie babie vs the real thing. Any pointers or obvious details that you could bring to my attention would be greatly appreciated.
- I think Peace and Blackie are going to retire next also Chocolate and maybe Curly
- I think Peace and Blackie are going to retire next also Chocolate and maybe Curly
- The marketing department is very clever.
- It's fun for me and for my daughter and grandchildren. I don't like the TY retailers sacking up BB's for friends and calling friends before they sell them to the public. I watched them do this in a store today. They also sold the bears for $25 and the other new ones that they had for $10. If I knew where to e-mail TY, I would. They were also very rude to the public at this store in Waco, Texas.
- Ty has flooded the market with current beanies, if this keeps out, the craze will die out.
- I LIKE THE RETIRING IDEA AND HOW YOU HAVE TO GAMBLE ON WHAT YOU THINK WILL RETIRE FOR PEOPLE IN RESALE
- no comment
- I would like to see a sea horse made and a llama.I would also like to see more wild cats made and less dogs, even tho I like dogs. How about another monkey say a baboon.
- I think that there should be a beanie baby beagle named Ginger and have the birthday be on November 2, or 9,.
- Stop Hallmark store owners from selling direct to secondary market, before the Beabies hit the shelves!!!!!
- I think they should make a chipmunk beanie and definetely some more dinosaur beanies.
- -------
- manny
- manny
- dislike bb's that can only be bought in another country; like the friendliness of collectors
- Ty is a marketing genius. The secondary market is what keeps this trend alive. This trend survives like a pyramid scheme.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!!
- Ive enjoyed this survey, i hope my input has helped you! :}
- I think that a beanie survay is a cool idea but you should try to find diffrent questions like Favorite teenie beanie or Most expensive beanie you have.
- I THINK THE OFFICIAL CLUB IS A GREAT IDEA
- Hello!
- It's gross how much some people are selling Beanies for! I can'tbelieve some people spend that much on a single Beanie Baby!
- Would like contact # for TY retailer complaints
- Beanie Babies are so addicting! I love them way too much!!!
- I HOPE THAT IT WILL BE A LITTLE EASIER TO GET THE NEW BEARS VERSUS PRINCESS&ERIN FOR REASONABLE PRICES
- I like Peace and Erin.
- chocolate should retire
- i don't like it when retailers don't tell you when they get beanies and save them and give them to their friends
- I thought mabey they could come out with more pillow pals and attic collections
- I think that retailors should put beanie babies on hold.
- I am upset with the prices put on the "new" beanies i.e. Jabber the Parrot , Glory the Bear etc. Who can afford to spend $35 - 100 for a stuffed animal??
- Personally i think it is ok just to collect and maybe go a little crazy for the beanies but the people who are paying $500 and up for just one are CRAZY
- beanie babies will continue to be hot items, but unfortunately some retailers have become very greedy and making it more difficult for children to purchase, as the prices are being increased or unable to buy any bear for a normal price.
- beanies seem to be taking a dive; store shelves are filled with older common styles!!
- I DO NOT THINK RETAILERS SHOULD SELL BEANIES FOR MORE THAN $6.99 A PEICE AND I FEEL VERY VERY STRONGLY ABOUT THIS AND IT MAKES ME QUITE UPSET!!!!
- Don't flood the market, and keep at $5.00, make sure all UPC drivers have life insurance policy's
- I believe that the bears are the most popular beanie babies and will be for a while.
- I love beanies but REALLY hate secondary market sellers. They make beanie prices go up! And yes, I am giving offense to those of you who ARE secondary market sellers (only those that go behind stores and ask for things like 4 Princesses for $50.00 each and then go sell them for $200.00!)
- they should make more pillowpals
- I dislike how people can sell them for so much money when other people are selling them for like $100 dollars less!
- Rude adult collectors get my goat!!!
- when people write you should write back
- i think prices need to be loiwered around 6.00. I also think ty should sell more of pricess and erin for the same price as the rest of them.
- arctic fox
- I think that they should make a Cicada BB.
- I started collecting before most people had even *heard* of these things, and sold my rare ones (Panda, Snake, etc) for lots of money later. Sad, but, hey, I won't complain.
- All beanies should be $6 max. People charge for new ones up to $200! Way too expensive
- TY says it only sells to authorized dealers, and Ty wants them to sell only to the public at low prices. How are sellers on the internet getting QUANTITIES of new releases/rare beanies? If TY is being honest about their selling/pricing policy, they need to check their "authorized dealers" and employees much more carefully!
- I think the secondary market sells the expensive beanie babies for way too much money. Not all of us can afford to spare $5,000!
- I think that they are making too many at one time and that people cannot keep up with it, especially the bears unless they have the money to buy on the secondary market.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!
- i'M SO SAD AT THE SECONDARY MARKET WITH THE GREEDY PRICES. tHE HALLMARK STORES THAT ARE PUTTING THE BEARS IN GIFT PACKS WITH ABOUT 10.00 OF MDSE AND SELLING THEM FOR 50-60. iT IS SO UNFAIR.
- Too many reptiles, please allow us to make recommendations ie. Wolfy the Wolf or Hedgie the Hedge Hog. How about adding to the prehistoric line of animals, maybe a Ty Warner Beanie Baby -- making this your only human. Beanies are great and have really brought an interest back to the stuff animals. I like the pillow pals but they are really too big they should be half the size they are now. They lose their cuteness when they are big. Also when you try to collect these, storage space becomes a proble
too.
- Wish the second, wasn't grabbing up all the new ones and selling them for outrages prices. These were made for Children, I thought and should be a fun thing, Instead of grown adults standing in lines fighting over the ones that everyone are after!
- Many people take the fun out of collecting beanies---they love to tell what they just got, but when asked where--"I can't tell" is their answer. GET A LIFE!!!!!!
- Although I enjoy this beanie mania, I do think it's sad that the prices have jumped so high that the kids are the ones who can't afford them anymore.
- Ty needs to do a better job of monitoring authorized dealers. All dealers but two dealers in our market are requiring additional purchases of $25.00 in order to buy a beanie and also using other stupid games and stuff in order to purchase bears or new ones. To keep the secondary market in check Ty need to run a tighter ship with their authorized dealers.
- have a hard time finding the new ones
- Retail stores should be more honest and not hold back new stock,
- i own a creepy spider. have you seen this?
- I love Fleece
- One idea for a new bear is, BLUES. He should be a dark royal blue with a black musical note embroidered on his chest. Also I think beanie bears should be a bit more rarer to boost their value and to keep collectors on their toes!
- Well first of all I think the secondary markets are having a kick on torturing their customers , because everytime we call "Hallmark" stores they always say they don't have the newest 14! They say we just sold out! EVERY TIME WE CALL!!! I'm outraged!!!
- I admit that I am a beanie babie collector for both personal and profit reasons. However, I am wondering if this craze will turn out to be the same as the cabbage patch doll craze where as these dolls are not worth anything although at one point were in fact expensive and considered a collector's item...
- i wish it was not so hard to find them.
- I think Ty should consider the State animal of the 50 states with their State flag sewn to them. That would be a real challenge! Very similar to Maple and Brittania!
- I think the phenomenon is peaking...the last retirement was too big.
- I have every style of each beanie baby plus, many many duplicates!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have almost 5000 beanies!
- My beanie baby busness is stealing them from little kids, and cutting them up and totally mutilating them! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! The cuter the beanie, the more likely it gets mutilated
- My beanie baby busness is stealing them from little kids, and cutting them up and totally mutilating them! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA! The cuter the beanie, the more likely it gets mutilated
- Think the trend will definately be here a while longer!
- Get over it already.
-
- I think that Princess is a lot more important than all of the other bears.
- I would like to submit an idea to Ty. I would also like to keep prices down. The cheepest I've seen since I started collecting is 6.99.
- it kicks ass!
- Beanies are hard to find. My idea is a dove named Harmony.I really dislike the secondary market.Beanies were made for chilldren not adults. They should be sold for $5.00,only
- Have collected PM's for 20 years and Ty needs to learn what they learned..when product is retired..it is retired and retailers are no longer being shipped..if retired piece is an a "backordered" shipment, it should be removed and either distroyed or given to charity(but not for a charity auction)just for the children..
- secondary markets stink
- they are a burning my money faster then i make it.
- I've been collecting since June 1997 and am a Beanie Baby fanatic! Sting is my favorite because I love stingrays, but I don't have him yet! Boo-hoo!
- Beanie Babies are addicting, once you buy one you can't stop.
- I want Glory so Much Hopefully I will aquire him SOON!!!!!
- I think that they are going to make more cats soon while retiring the rest of the "IP" sisters, but only after they f–nish the birds craze.
- I take the tags off all of mine-I don't think grown ups should buy more than one of each kind of Beanie, because there's hardly any left for us kids who don't make as much money! Because toys are made for KIDS!
- I've noticed many retailers have held back the different bear beanies and will sell only with purchase of other merchandise or way above suggested retail price. These are authorized dealers doing this not just secondary shops.
- i get frustrated with greedy retailers re pricing
- I Love beanies so much that I get mad if anyone disess them or me for collecting them!!!
- trying not to get rip off
- I just wish people would remember kids are involved with these toys. I hate seeing some of them sell for such a high price.
- I do believe the bottom is dropping out of the beanie baby market.. You probolly remember when it was like chrmast morning when you saw the sign "We have Beanies!!!" Now I have the whole current set, and whenever I go to a dealer, they always have "buckets" of beanies no one is buying. And also I would just like to mention somthing about the new beanie babys. Every secondary market guy I know has tons of them, but I have yet to see a primary dealer have any!! I think the dealers are selling the new bea
ies "out the back door" to these venders. I hope to find the New Beanies soon-for reasonable prices (as is everyone...) Write, and tell me what you thought. My E-mail is Blasebear@aol.com
- i have a canadien seamore the seal and can't find a price on it???
- I think that TY should flood the market with bears so that the secondary market will not be able to rip us off. The "Official Ty dealers should not be able to sell the bears at super inflated prices. I have never seen Erin, Princess or even Peace for sale on the shelf, except for at PlayCo Toy Company who has a very fair sell policy.
- I wish TY would watch the retailers that overcharge for particular bears. TY should do business with the stores that will keep the prices down so kids will be able to purchase and enjoy them as beanies were meant to be.
- I donate beanies to abused children programs. They love them and enjoy having the "real beanies".
- just keep making them accessible
- I want more bears!!!
- If TY really cares about american children & keeping prices in thier reach the stop making the damn things in China. There are plebty of Americans who need jobs here instead of in some Chinese sweatshop. This would also cut down on the amount of counterfeits coming from China
- Most retailers are selling bears for way more than retail - and not even displaying them. I wish TY would be more responsive to the complaints about that type of issue. Although I do sell some beanies on the secondary market, I have other items in my little "antique booth" and refuse to get caught up in the super greed being praticed by some. i also wif\sh there was some way to recognize/honor honest retailers who follow the rules. By the way, the practice that irritatees me the most is requiring a
shopper to buy $100.00 in other than beanie merchandise in order to purchase a "premium" (current, bears etc) beanie. Those retailers should be banned !
- I think they should make a beagle beanie baby!
- I am very disgusted with the prices of the new ones in the stores that first acquire them. I think if Mr. Warner is making these for kids he should make a lot of all of them, unlike what he did with Princess and Erin.
- They rock!
- I think Beanie Babies are really great, but currents should be sold at their retailing price on the secondary market, because it's obvious that no one is willing to pay more for a Beanie which they can go out to a store and buy for a lower price.
- People are making way too much money off of little stuffed animals. Also the bears are way to hard to find, there should be more produced.
- My good friend is a dealer and sells them at the normal price no matter the baby. I do not like dealers that hike the price or require you to buy so many dollars of other products to get a beanie. I too was once a dealer of other collectables and am very upset with greedy dealers.
- I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE MORE INSECTS
- I am an employee of a retail store that carries Beanies, and there are more customers who are rude and mean than there are nice ones. The calls come in constantly daily from people accusing us of lying to them when we say we haven't received any. It has become a very big turnoff. As much as I love the Beanies, the greedy people make us want to stop selling them.
- I think that something so great for kids had to be destroyed be adult greed!!!!!!
- It is too bad that adults had to ruin this toy, that so many kids like to buy with their own money and can't because sometimes the one's they want they can't get because the adults have made it inpossible to find.
- I hope I have done good on the survey.
- chocolate has been around awhile surprised hes not retired. why do teenie babies sell for so much?
- I think they should do a native american beanie
- HALLMARK DOESN'T GET THEM FAST ENOUGH OR ENOUGH IN AN ORDER. I WOULD LIKE TO BE A DISTRIBUTOR
- TY's Decision to retire so many beanies last time was a stroke of genius... This took all of the collectors by surprise, since many of them were not even being speculated about... I would like to see continued large retirements, which include Newbies.. This will keep the collectors seeking out the newones, or recent retireds that they didnt get... it is good all the way around, and keeps the CHASE going that gets so addictive!!!!
- I don't like people who sell beanies for more the 5.99.What ever happened to fair selling. And I wish Ty would bring back the old retireds for a while so that new collectors like me can get them.
- The Hallmark dealers that increase their prices should be repremanded
- Beanies are so much fun. If I would have known this when I was younger....I could have had so many more by now. Heck only started collecting them 2 weeks ago and I got Erin on the luck of the Irish and the UPS. :)
- make more sheep,please
- I am totally disgusted with the lack of availability in my area (Houlton, Maine) to get the new "glory" bear. The only place in town that has it, is a collector shop that is selling it for $150 each!!! The authorized dealers, are unable to get any at this time.
- i wish there were more honset retailers and that the retailers that I know of in my area did not have LISTS that they called when they get new bb's or bb bears in. It isn't fair to those of us that aren't on the list, because their list got SOOO big. I would like to add that when retailers put out the new bb's and they advertise the fact, do it on the weekend so that the working folk have a chance to acquire some. I don't mind the line on the weekends. It's fun to get up early and stand outside a s
ore wondering what they have. But more and more are doing during the week now, i hate that.!! Love the web site and page! Thanks for the opportunity to sound off and give my opinion. Wendi
- Some prices of non-retired Beanies are too high!!!
- Some prices of non-retired Beanies are too high!!!
- ALL BEANIES ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think there shoulkd be more brightly colored beanies like twigs, smoochy and Pinky
- i am beanie crazed i even had a heart attack once trying to get beanies not to mentine a stroke
- I don't like how some stores take lists of names, should be first come, first serve.
- I think when people sell princess in the secondary market for more then they its bad because if you do sell princess for more then the usual $5-7 the money should go to her charity.
- you should make groups of beanies that are only expensive when you have all of them and shold make people beanie babies like ELVIS
- I haven't found a beany with Nov. 19 for a birhtday!!
- I think anyone who sells TY Beanie Babies for more than suggusted retail price should not be able to sell them any more. I think Valentino, Curly, Peace, and Claude should retire soon!!!!!!!!
- Think beanies are cute, hope the demand continues
- I Love Beanie Babies!!!!
- I'd like to see the beanie secondary market become less greedy, so that when new beanies are released, the average person can easily obtain and afford to buy them, without taking numbers and standing for hours in line.
- Blame my mother for my addiction...but she has close to 1000!!!
- I HATE IT WHEN PEOPLE ON THE INTERNET RIP YOU OFF ON BEANIES!!!
- Put a Beagal in called (Sassy)
- I hope the thrill of beanie hunting last forever!I just wish people on the secondary market would sell them for so much, My daughyer would to have Humphrey but he cost too much. The quality of beanies is wonderful! I hope TY keeps up the good work!!!
- I think by retiring all 28 commons on May 1, 1998 in one shot made everyone less interested in collecting bb. It was too abrupt, it was like Ty was "cleaning out" all the excess baggage. NOT a Good move.
- I believe people should remember that this is a children's toy and should help keep prices reasonable so that children will be able to purchase beanies.
- wont be as big as it is now
- I think there should be a control on the prices. They have gotten out of control. This was to be an affordable toy for everyone.
- NONE
- would like to see a "Smokey" the grey cat, or bear. I also would like to see a ferrett beanie babie named "Fred" , Thank you
- I get very frustrated at the retailers who care more about making extra money than making their customers happy. I have been able to find, on occasion, some of the "hard-to-find" beanies, and very gladly sold them to friends and acquaintances for exactly what I paid for them. These retailers are already getting a 100% markup if they are selling them for what Ty asks them to, yet I have been told by more than one retailer that Ty can't set prices because of the Fair Trade Act, and they will continue t
sell the harder to find beanies for high prices because they know they can get it. My children and I are constantly on the lookout for Princess and Erin; I am hopeful that if I am patient, we will eventually find them at the prices they are supposed to be sold for!
- I dislike the border restrictions from Canada to U.S of beanies
- if done right this fad could last for awhile
- I like how some are hard to find, it makes it more valuable,
- I hope to give my beanies to others in the future. I believe they can be a great blessing!(:
- Impressed with realistic quality of new beanies
- It should not be announced when there will be new beanies coming out. By the time I can get to the store to check, they are all gone. It's too frustrating.
- I really feel that too many "dealers" are exploting the market
- I think TY should create a yellow lab called "Charlie"
- i don't like when retailers put them out during working hours-doesn't give me a fair chance to buy new ones
- Wish stores would limit one of each to a customer.
- I like all the beanies- no favorite. I think that the secondary market is good because you can get like older retired beanies but they sell like Caw for thousands of dollars & kids don't have that much money.
- they should make a Greyhound Beanie Baby!!!!
- no
- I have limited my collecting to only bears, and specail beanies that apeal to me. I used to have over 300 beanies. Way too many to have around. I have sold all those I didn't want to keep to save for college. I am glad the market was way up there when I sold. The market is sinking faster then I thought it would. I collect the bears now. I think it is so crazy that retailers that hold all the bears they receive, jack up the prices and try to make such a big deal out of it!
- Ilove them. I wish I could find the new ones.
- stores price goughing big time

- Ty should not be selling to big stores like K-mart. They should only sell to little stores b/c big stores will get greedy and take away business from small stores. Also, they should have a BB w/ the b-day 9/2 (my birthday-send presents!)

- I LOVE COLLECTING THE TY BEANIES. THE ONLY THING I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CHANGED IS THE HANG TAGS. FOR US TRUE COLLECTORS IT WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE A HANG TAG THAT WILL NOT BEND OR CREASE.
- When I made a comment to a retailer about getting Erin for $25, I was told that they just had her last week for $4.99. For whom? The owner, the employees, certaintly not the customer. We all know that any current bear sold for five bucks is a dream . At the very least a once in a lifetime at least from where I sit. aj
- Beanies are just cute, some are ugly, but some people go crazy over them! Geez! Some of the letters I've read are rediculis! So,don't go crazy with them, It's just plain STUPID. Sure, they might be worth money, but they might not be either. It would be a shame spending so much on, say, Aaron bear and then have the price drop. I encourage people to collect them, but don't get wacko like some of my friends who have 53! Have fun, But not too much. - Alaskan resident
- I don

- I am discouraged in locating Beanies at the retail price. I work full time and it is impossible for me to be in the right place at the right time to find any desired Beanies at the retail price. The retailers are rude when asked about if they have Beanies, and act as if handling them is a bother. Frankly, I know that Beanies have made some store show a profit for the year.
- I think its great..but I dont take it too seriously
- prices too high for the new beanies that
- It is fun searching for these little guys. But when you announce a new release it should be in the stores within the month.
- I feel beanies on the secondary market are an awful thing don't get me wrong but after seeing a little girl who wanted the Princess bear crying just because it was pretty and she wanted it I am never going to purchase form a 2nd market. The bear was 200 dollars and her mom couldn't get it for her a small bear is all she wanted. It is sad when things get to out of hand. beanies are supposed to be for fun I thought.
- I do not like how it is becoming impossible to purchase the new beanies at reasonable prices. Glory is not even in the stores and people on the net are already asking over $100 for him. I think the prices are getting too high.
- TY should produce MUCH, MUCH, MUCH more beanie babys than right now, and not retire beanies. Its unfair that some people can get Erin for $5, and others can get him only for $100 or more.
- on the ty page they show in their "dog-house" beanies ive never seen or heard of before ! i hope these are coming out soon because they are realy cute !!!
- This was fun!
- I think the Disney bean bags are diluting the interest in Ty Beanie babies. I love going to the Disney Store and being able to pick and choose! I also love the way Disney sells to anybody by mail. I haven't spent money on a Ty Beanie for two months (a long time for me), but I've bought at least 50 of the Disney Beanies, and there seem to be a lot of people like me lately.
- I will not buy any more until prices go up
- At first they were hard to find, but now since I have all of the currents it's hard to find the new ones. Unless you want to stand in long lines and calling retailers daily. I feel like we all really bother these retailers by the numerous calls.
- Most of the beanie babies are priced too high. They started out as a child's collectable, but now they are priced so high only adults can afford them, unless they wait several months for the new to wear off of the "new' ones. I do not see why some beanies are more important or special than others. I don't see how a Princess is different than a Peace. The only difference is price and color. One thing I noticed is that the 14 new beanies are realistic looking. The first beanies were fantasy. But n
w I think the target market is moving toward adults. Is this the case, and if so hasn't Ty Warner moved away from his primary objective.
- Would like to see more bears produced since they are most popular and always demand the high prices.
- Now that I am into BB's I only wish I would have started collecting a long time ago. My oldest beanies are May 1997 retireds. I have assembled a fairly large collection in a short period of time and haven't gone too haywire, mostly I kept looking and got BB's at reasonable prices, athough some I have paid over $100 to acquire. I have a Lefty but no Righty: I would like to get Righty but after him I will probably not buy any more of the older retireds - too expensive!! As long as Beanies and Teenie Bean
es go on I will probably collect. I have duplicate for possible trades. I have many favorites that I look at every day. Am I hooked, or what?
- I BELIEVE THAT BEANIES ARE ONLY WORTH WHAT SOME IDIOTIC PSHYCOPATH WILL PAY FOR THEM
- I understand that there are a lot of dealers and collectors out there but I think we ALL need to remember that BEANIE BABIES WERE MADE FOR KIDS!!!!!!! We all need to respect that especially the retail stores that won't sell a kid a new beanie without buying an old one, when the child saved their allowance for 2 weeks to buy a certain one.
- I would like to see a German Shephard Guide Dog named Sheba.
- I believe that the market will even out with even some increases on the latest 28 retireds. The new ones will help raise the cost .
- Teenie Beanies are a great idea! Don't you think?
- I think Ty is being mean by retirering beanies. I don't like that because I can't have all the ones I want ( I have a low beanie budget).
- Teenie Beanies are a great idea! Don't you think?
- I hope it never ends.
- Dislike how retailers are limited to in-stock of new releases. Somehow, dealers have a way of having first crack, finding it's way to the secondary market and costing consumers 3 or more times the purchase cost. I saw Jake the Mallard Duck selling for $45.00. Ridiculous! I don't mind re-selling my duplicates at a reasonable price...when I'm too reasonable, other sellers see it as underselling the market price. I'm a collector first...I have 3 Princess Bears, 2 Erins, 4 Peace the Bear, 4 Valentino's
1 Brown Teddy, 4 Curly Bears, 3 '97 Teddy; Raffled 1 Curly and 1 '97 Teddy...Haven't sold a single bear yet!!
- I dislike the retailers(IE: Hallmark Stores) saying 'We don't have any of (insert popular Beanie Baby)". then the next person that walks in buys one. This is particularly prevelant in Fairbanks, Alaska
- make more bears
- I hope the Beanie Baby Club will help put the kids back in control of the market.
- I really think that they should make a new beanie baby called Billy the Goat. This name also means a lot because a good friend of the family just died yesterday, and his name was Billy.
- Stores elevating the price on popular beanies
- TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SECONDARY MARKET, WAKE UP!!! THANKS TO THE SECONDARY MARKET, YOU ARE ABLE TO GET ALL OF THE RETIRED BEANIES THAT YOU NO LONGER CAN AT A TY DISTRIBUTOR STORE. THANKS TO US, WE ARE ABLE TO KEEP THE BEANIE CIRCLE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- dealers should keep the price down so everyone can enjoy BEANIE BABY
- I love collecting these wonderful toys and hope this craze neveer dies!! Ty Warner is a great man to have thought of this collection( if he was truly the one perrson who did!!)
- I find it very frustrating that people sell Beanies at flea markets, and in glass cases for outrageous amounts of money. It's not fair to kids, and Ty should do a better job of controling it.
- All Beanie Babies should be priced at 5.00 each-no matter what.
- I just wish the retailers could get their orders shipped in a timely fashion. Taking a month to fill a order is slow going on Ty's part.
- I would like a Hippy the tie died Hippo
- prices of Princess and Erin should be controlled in the Ty distributors to the $5.99 a piece
- I thinh Princess and Erin will retire soon because they keep increasing in price on the secondary market and especially Princess everyone really wanta her.
- All new beanies will be sold out within 10 mins.
- its great
- I started late in collecting beanies. My son and I just love them. In my area, it is hard to buy them. The stores never know when a shipment will be received. Since I live in a rural area, it's hard for me to purchase the ones that I want. I cannot afford to pay high prices for the beanies. I buy what I can.
- I think it is a shame that the secondary markets are jacking the prices of the older beanies so far out of sight that in my wildest dreams I will never be able to afford some of them.
- Hamley's toy store charges highly inflated prices in London - up to $25 for a beanie baby. They should be taken off the authorised dealer list as they are coining it in.
- Complete Insanity! But I love it!!
- I hate that the greed of the few has deprive the wants of the many...
- I wan't the wise owl b/c it has my grad year on it!
- i think fat women could stop running in beanie baby place and buying all the beanies so little kids like me that are collecting can actually get them
- I don't think the market will hold. I think that the bottom will fall out on the prices really soon and I think that is sad. I am about ready to sell my entire collection.
- Why does the secondary market get everything first ?
- I don't like how much they cost. I don't get that much money, and I have to save for a while to get just one.
- Still waiting for that buffalo beanie :)
- I think that it is super unfair how Adults collect bbs just resell them, when there are kids out there like me who collect to play with them, not to make money. I think there should be rules that prohibate
Adults from well taking bbs away from us kids!!! Ty should also make the Bear bbs easier to get hold of (they are my very favorite).
- I hate the way Ty never puts out enough of the bears. It immediately creates a run for them and my kids will never have them when the prices are so high.
- I LOVE THAT THEY ARE AFFORDABLE. I DISLIKE THAT NEW ISSUES ARE NOT PRICED AT THE LOWEST PRICE. ALL BEANIES BEING ISSUED SHOULD BE PRICED AT THE LOWEST PRICE. I FELT THAT WHEN PRINCESS WAS ISSUED, FOR EXAMPLE, SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN 6 DOLLARS LIKE ALL THE REST. MY CHILDREN CANNOT ADD TO THEIR COLLECTION WHEN THEY COST 250 DOLLARS.
- I think that Ty should have more control over the unethical sellers of Beanies.
- I am getting more and more upset with the secondary market, I think they have a place but it is not buying up all the stock that should be on store shelves for individuals to buy. Everytime I go to the shows or on the Net and see dozens in Ty bags and boxes I feel more like quitting . I really feel that TY should do more to stop the sale of the product by retail dealers directly to the secondary market. It might be costly but in the end I think it would be beneficial, many are turning away from the
e wonderful toys because of the greed. We picked up a few extra for trading purposes but who wants to trade? Not many at all, they would rather sell at grossly inflated prices. I would think that it would be fun if you could get on the net and trade one for one of currents, help people in different areas to collect what might not be available to them . Even in the State of Maine I find that my sister in the southern state can get what we can't in central areas and vice-versa. I think I would like to g
undercover and blow the lid off from dishonest dealers and give the dealerships to the many stores that really want them and that would give everyone a fair shot at buying them. I don't think TY intended them to make people rich. Legitimate secondary dealers would have enough of the market if they dealt only in retireds bought from legitmate former collecters selling out. Thanks for letting me sound off. Wish it would do some good before we get discouraged and quit collecting.
- I hope this stays for a while since I just started
- Secondary prices are getting to be outrageous. Some are hard to find
- Beanie Babies are the BOMB...
- It's kinda boring!
- I see some vendors (not necessarily retailers but people who are in private business for themselves inflate the prices in which it is difficult for many people to afford buying the popular ones--such as the Princess Bear, Peace, etc...I would like to obtain Seamore and Chilly but they are more than I can afford. The ones selling for between $5-$7 are reasonable and can afford to buy those for my kids.
- I think they should make more reptile beanies like the dogs.(I'm a reptile fan)
- I love Garcia I have 3.
- I love beanie babies! Although, Ty Warner made these for kids and some adults who have no kids buy a zillion of the same kind and sell it to kids for $50! Kids can't afford that! Beanie Babies are not just a fad. They'll be around for a while. Glory and
- I love the Bear Beanie Babies, the are so CUTE!
- I think that beanies will continue for a while, but it seems the fad is slowing down a bit- sell 'em while you can!
- Never thougth I would get involved!
- I wish that eventhough certain beanies are in"Demand" moreso than others everyone was able to purchase them at regular prices. Its not fair that some people buy 10 of one and the store only got in 25. An idea for a new beanie is a peacock and jellyfish.
- I would like the TY Co. to sell to anyone that has a store so the secondary market wouldn't be so high and everyone could have half a chance to be able to purchase equally. I would like to see TY Co. bring out more of a variety instead of so many birds at once. I know there are lots of them and want to see them be made, but there are so many others...ferrets, otters, etc.
- I really hate those who sell immeadiately to secondary markets. I like the retailers that do lotteries on HTF's and try to make sure that everyone gets at least one and also sells them at the same price as every other Beanie baby that they sell.
- I just love all the cute wild cats and amimles with american flags on them .
- Check out TRADEGUARD.COM
- I hate that some people think they can charge an outrageous amount for one beanie baby.
- I love Beanie Babies!
- There's 1 store in my town(Delray Beach, Fl) who when got Princess in last year, raffled 6 of them, sold 5@ $800 AND 1 AT $1,OOO!!!!!!! NONE OF THE MONEY WENT TO CHARITY, SHE KEPT IT AS A BIG BONUS 4 HERSELF!!!!!!!
- this is the fist time i have collected anything.
- I dislike retailers who sell HTF beanies at prices where kids can't afford them.
- I believe that it should become easier to become a member and their should be contest and special drawings for members to win beanies and money
- It's sad that this has become out of reach for most children - too greedy adults!
- I love your beanie babies
- Wonderful product and fun to collect!!!
- i hate secendary market sellers
- It's an affordable and fun collection. The only thing I dislike is when adults get crazy. I couldn't believe how rude people were during the teanie beanie happy meals. I just love to hunt for new beanies and enjoy looking for my nieces who also collect them.
- to much money
- I don't like that they sell Princess and Erin for outragious prices. They are not retired so they should not be sold for more than $6.
- I love them they are so cute but They are so hard to find because of people buying to sell for a lot more than what they got them for.
- Beanie Baby collecting is suppose to be fun. But some people go out and buyt so many that no one else can get them. Like during the McDonalds teenie beanie baby sale. A few people came in and bought out the whole store. Thats not fare, especially for people like myself. I only purchased one complete set. That way other chilrden can have them too. My neightbor wanted to get a set for her child, but she only managed to get 4 teenies. People are too greedy
- I started collecting for my grandchildren but the prices for some are way out of line I have two that collect all the beanies and three that collect in groups of beanies such as dogs rabbits and the cats The rices for Princess and Erin are out of sight will we ever see Brittania I doubt it how about the Panda already and the new ones aren't even out yet.
- Beanie Babies probably won't loose popularity for a long time.
- I believe that the beanie baby phenomenon is great for children and adults alike. I like being able to find a lot of them in one store. I don't like not being able to get them for my boys because some greedy person wants to sell them quite a bit more than they bought them for $5 to $8. My predictions are that they'll continue to make children happy unless the fake beanies monopolize and take advantage the honest people in the world. I have plenty of ideas for other products. Only Mr. Warner knows
hat will retire next.
- Retailers are greedy Would like to tell about greedy retailers who show Favoritism Do Not know how to reach someone who cares E mail address is asilverman @adelphi. com
- The availability of beanies can be quite trying at times especially if you have a physical handicap and cannot travel with ease as per se some customers try to push you out of the way to reach their desired beanie. It's almost like they become degenerates with bad manners. I don't know it is greed that creates this phenomenon or it's inherently part of there personality to begin with. Any way if it weren't for my grandaughter and very close friends I don't think I can bother with it any longer. I do lo
e bears and have been a collector for some time now. That was the beginning of my collection of beanies. I believe this phenomenon will continue as long as they continue to make bears.
- o like them very mudh.. but i wish the secondary market wasn't so expenxive!!!
- All retailers that sell beanies for more than the $5.00 to $7.00 price that Ty wants them to sell the currents for should be dropped then the good stores will be able to sell to the public the beanies at a reasonable price.
- I don't appreciate retailers selling two currents to get one new one.
- bears should be easier to get at a reasonable price
- The thing that I resent the most is retail dealers either uping the price of beanies to or above the secondary market, forcing you to purchase a large quanity of merchandise from their store inorder to purchase a princess or erin, or saying they never got any popular hard to find beanies and selling them strictly to their friends or secondary market. I have seen retailers hord exclusive beanies and then sell them at extremely inflated rates. I already know that I won't be able to get glory or fortune
because of unethical practices by retailers. A lot of us out there are getting so discouraged that we are thinking about not collecting beanies anymore.
- dislike prices of newly released beanies.
- Secondart market should stay primarily with retireds
- I love Beanies
- I would like to brag about owning 2 of EVERY Beanie Baby except for Flutter the Butterfly. Of that I only have one. But I am WAY more richer than anyone who reads this shall ever be so if you think you can top me, HA! In your face! I'm also going to be reciving 3 of each Teenie Beanie Baby in the original bags. Don't worry all of you little twits, I doanate 50 newly bought 5th generation tagged Beanies to charity every month, so I'm not as evil as you think. So there. Hmmmmppppphhhhh!!!
-
- The people that by them for $6.00 and sell them for $25-$50 dollars.
- there is a store in town that holds beanies until they're retired and then sells them for a ton of money - that is really pathetic
- We need a greyhound beanie baby! Adoption groups would go nuts for one! Beanie baby collecting is a affordable for the whole family to be involved.
- I think that retailers who sell at secondary market are hurting the value of the beanies. People are going to see that this hobby is way to expensive and stop collecting. Therefore, this craze may die out...I hope it dosen't die out , I LOVE MY BEANIES!!!!
- We need a greyhound beanie baby! Adoption groups would go nuts for one! Beanie baby collecting is a affordable for the whole family to be involved.
- I LOVE BEANIES
- You shant pay more than $6.00 for a unretired beanie
- I like to buy them cheap!
- I think that beanies are the best thing in the world. Mr. Warner should recieve an award for creating the best toy ever. They are fun to collect and serve as a bridge between the generation gaps formerly "un-bridgable" They hopefully will be around forever so that my kids can enjoy the same expeiences I have thanks to beanies.
- Beanie Babies RULE!!!
- The secondary market has made collecting very difficult.
- Ty should not sell to Home Shopping Channel!! There are not enough for retail stores and you see them on there for outrageous prices! I try and be flexible and fair and sell only to offset the cost of the retired beanies!
- I hate that all the secondary shops get all the new ones before the actual retailers do.
- Little Elegance sells retires for premium!!
- Better distribution would (could) eliminate speculation in secondary mkt. Seems as though some people are keeping the prices inflated because they bought high.
- I never thuoght I would start collecting them but now I have 39 beanie babies and I just stated collecting them!!!!!
- I want Sprint the Cheetah, and any new dragon or mythical creature would be great!
- I LIKED DOING THE SURVEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Betcha these retire next: Blackie, Sly, Seaweed, Snort, Peace, Valentino, Curly, Bongo...email me if you want to know how I came to this conclusion!
- The beanies are positive toys much loved by children of many ages. As a mother I am delighted to see BBs becoming even MORE desirable.. they are even replacing my son's toy soilders and guns. I am dabbling in this market..making a little extra cash. To me there is no real risk of loosing money because I have the beanies..and if they do not sell they are STILL valuable as gifts. Very affordable and are always a hit. The one negative thing is the "feeding frenzy" behavior displayed by some collectors
when they decend upon a shop who has just received a TY shipment. When we see a UPS truck near a shop we go the other direction.
- I wold like to see stricter controls and penalties for conterfeiting Beanies.
- they charge too much..stores try to rip u off and its pathetic that people wood pay $20 for a current bb
- I think princess diana bear will retire on the 1 year anniv. of her death.
- I really really want to get Peace Bear for $15.00!!!!!!!!
- I wish the bears were easier to get!!!
- I would like to have a chance to get a new release without putting up a fight with the dealers to get it.
- When TY comes out w/new BBs, like they just introduced 14, I would like to see them be available. Why introduce them if we can't buy them?
- I think that people are getting to greedy and crazed over these stuffed animals I think that it should be for and I don't think you should have to pay a ridiculas amount for some plush animals I know I wouldn't.
- please help by boycotting unethical secondary retailers!
- I hate it when retailers sell new ones like glory and them for high prices ($150). I hate it when people take trips to Canada (my home country) and the UK for weeks JUST to find Maple or Britannia. I would like to see how crazy pricess and things would go if Britannia, Maple, Erin, or Princess retired. Tah twould be something worthwhile to see. I think that if those beanies all retired at the same time, there would be no beanie baby market because everyone is only interested in high prices for those be
rs, no new-comers will be coming to ty, and everyone will be getting crazy and not to mention greedy trying to scoop up as many of those beanies as possible. It would scare everyone!
- I enjoy the chase and don't mind the frenzy. I like the secondary market, but think the primary market should keep the prices low (for the kids). However, it disgusts me to see grown people shoving children aside and plucking beanies from out of there hands. It is deplorable!
- i just hope they don't die out like Cabbage Patch Kids.
- I hope the trend continues as it is really fun to collect. I think that retailers that sell to the secondary market should be dropped immediately. I collect out of interest and I only buy the ones I personally like - valuable or not.
- I Need To Enlist In Beanie Babies Anomaous
- if they sell bad and slowly they will be retired
- if they sell bad and slowly they will be retired
- I believe there will be a change in WISE real soon
- I dislike how hard it is to find the bears and how greedy people get. I buy one for myself and maybe one for one of my brothers. You will never see me grabbing 5 or 6 at a time. Also you should put to space words once before they write.
- I think it has really brought kids and adults closer, because they have something in common. They bring me so much joy as I continue collecting them, and sharing my new finds with friends, family and the kids that I teach. I also have friends and family in other states that look for them for me, and not because I have asked them to, but because they want to. I don't like that the current beanies are so hard to find, except in the secondary market. How did they get it first? Thanks for the survey.
- i wish ty would get their act together on shipping
- I don't like greedy adults who hoard the hard to finds, like Princess & Erin.
- It is most unfortunate prices (secondary mkt.) have become such that many of us can no longer "collect." Recently noted a new release -- Glory -- was auctioned for $150.00. I can appreciate people wanting to make money, but this is getting ridiculous.
- I would like the adults to start acting like adults. They are starting to get very very rude about the beanie's and it is very sad to see this happen when the little kids are around this. thank you!
- Listen people, it's real simple. STOP buying from the secondary market and the prices will go down and the retailers will have to sell to us at reasonable prices. It is the people who buy from the secondary market who are resposible for the terrible prices. Wait for the shops to have a good supply of new beanies and then buy.
- Beanies are awesome! I will have some of them forever!
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I dislike the escalated cost from secondary and some authorized retailers. Example would be Erin and Princess. Tell me what child can realistically afford the exorbitant price that is on them. Definitely not mine! I can't even afford them.
- I think Wise will retire because of "Wise" Potatoe chips. There maskot is an owl.
- did you know there is a new rainbow with a toung and the tag attached to the spines with the correct tags? this type is only being sent out as one shipment.
- too hard to complete collection -scarce
- Tired of greedy retailers! Will not participate in their drawings, lotteries or demand purchases!!
- love the price, kids and anyone can afford 4.95!
- no
- I wish that stores would sell beanies at resonable prices. Not 50- 150 for Princess and the new beanie's for 12-20
- I'd like to see a black labrador retriever
- I hate the overpricing on retireds. When Beanies were retired on May 1 I immeadiatly tried to get some. Already they were $20 each!!!
- I really hope that we are not witnessing the end of the Beanie Baby craze.
- Retailers who get BB's directly from Ty should not sell currents beanies for more than 7 dollars
- The rarer Beanies (such as Garcia, Flutter, Chilly....) are too expensive for kids like me to buy! I've always wanted Sting and Flutter but they are way too expensive!
- I just want to say that Beanie Babies rock! The next retirement (after the May 1 one) will probably be Valentino and Curly.
- Maple & Britannia should be sold in the USA
- Looks like we are all scrambling for the new ones again, and Ty is making us go crazy AGAIN, only sending out a few at a time. So far I only have ONE!!! But I will not be as nuts as last time. I will bid my time. The only ones I am concerned with are the bears and owl and if people will play those stupid, childish games again. Looks like one already is, selling for $50. Get real. I know quite a few who will sell for $6 and I applaude them and thank them so very much!!! Love you Sue and Jean
- I think the beanie "craze" is burning out. That is why I am hoping to sell atleats 50% of my beanies.
- I think Princess will be retired
- I just love those lttle guys.
- I think it has gotten out of hand
- I think it is ridiculous that Ty dealers make you purchase merchandise in order to buy a beanie baby for retail price $4.99-$5.99! I wish I had a way to write Ty to complain. These are toys...TOYS...for kids! Let us not forget this.
- They need to make a Newfoundland
- It is sad that children can't enjoy these inexpensive or should have been inexpensive toys like that want too. Instead I have to tell my girls that they can't take retired and hard to find beanies out of the house. They are my 4 year old's security at times. The secondary market has ruin the fun of this toy. And now we have bean bag everything like the copies are going to sell.
- I would like to see a larger range of babies in stores, most of the time, we are lucky to have six different babies at our 1 local store. I have a small gift and would like info on getting started resales of the ty beanie babies.
- It is sad that children can't enjoy these inexpensive or should have been inexpensive toys like that want too. And now we have bean bag everything like the copies are going to sell.
- There is too much time between announcement of new beaanies and their appearance in the retail market. Also there should be more bears produced since beanie collectors buy them as well as teddy bear collectors.
- Beanie Whores they all are.
- Erin and Princess should be more readily available in the retail market
- I gets very disgusting to see princess and others sold on Home Shopping in th amount of $98.00, and they suppossedly sold 11650 of these. Where did they come from ? I have never seen one in any store for $6.00. Just one of my gripes!!!
- TY should make a giunea pig beanie baby.
- I would like to see TY do a beanie babie calandar with big glossy pictures of the beanies in different settings. I would also like to see ty make a seahorse, a gopher, a peacock and a spotted horse! May be even a badger! they have cool markings. And what about a hyena named ha!ha! or giggles? or chortles!
- I think there should be a new billy goat named" kid" with july 11th birthday !!! :)
- I'd like to know where to send information on those who are selling brand new releases for $20 and other poor marketing deals I see around. Someone needs to print an address for relaying such information. I also think that bears such as Erin and Princess should flood the market and bring down the outrageous secondary pricing.
- Upset with Ty primary dealers selling special beanies for big $. Erin, Curley, Princess together for $100. Sold a few separate Princess for $6.00 to certain people.
- I love their faces and they are snuggly
- hedgehog, wombat,black lab
- hehe
- This is CRAZY! I started getting BB when they first came out as jokes for freinds of mine. Of course, now they have all of the "hot" ones. But now I can't find any that I want. I HATE the GREEDY retailers (Corporate HOGS) that are making quick bucks off of the unknowing public! I REFUSE to buy from any retailer that is out there abusing "TY's" Philosophy.
- I love Beanie Babies, but some retailers are not very fair. A while back I had to pay $10.95 just for a Hissy from an authorized dealer! I really don't make enough allowence to pay that, but I'm devoted. I just can't say no to Beanie Babies!
- BEANIE BABIES KICK ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I think it is a shame that it is so hard to find beanies at a decent price. The stores that do sell them for $6 or less can't keep them due to the secondary market trying to buy them all to resale. I also think the Ty dealers should keep their prices to $7 and below.
- Beanie babies are really cute but I can't see why anyone would pay so much for a child's toy. There are other bean bag toys that cost less and are nicer.
- Some people sell Beanie Babies for more than their estimated 1998 value, way more. People are selling Brittania for $700!!!
- too hard to find
- HELLO AGAIN, IT'S ME! REMEMBER I WAS THE BILLY GOAT LADY. WELL NEW SUBJECT I DON'T WANT TO GET INTO THAT AGAIN. YOU KNOW WHEN I SENT IN MY LAST LITTLE COMMENT. I JUST FOUND MY KLEENEX BOX AND CRIED A RIVER. ACUALLY IT COULD HAVE BEEN AN OCEAN!!!!!
- DEAR DARLA, I HATE YOUR STINKIN' GUTS. YOU MAKE ME VOMIT. YOUR SCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM BETWEEN MY TOES. LOVE ALFALFA
- HELLO, MY NAME IS GEORGE-ENETTA, I am 96 years old, I have 10 children and 27 grandchildren. I get most of the beanie babies for them. They really seem to enjoy them around Christmas time. I really liked it when TY made the holiday beanie babies. I th
- PUT THE CALANDERS BACK IN THE WEBSITE
- I WOULD LIKE TO ADD A HEDGEHOG BEANIE BABIE TO MY COLLECTION IF ONLY YOU WOULD MAKE ONE. YOU COULD NAME IT "PRICKLES." BUT PLEASE PLEASE MAKE A HEDGEHOG. I USTO HAVE A HEDGEHOG NAMED "PRICKLES" AND EVERYONE LOVED HIM UNTILL HE DIED I'M ONLY 9 AND AM VER
- LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT A LITTLE STORY. WE HAVE GOATS ON OUR FARM AND I JUST LOVE THEM. THEY ARE SO CUTE AND CUDDLY. I PRACTICALLY GREW UP WITH MY BILLY GOAT. HE WAS MY BEST AND ONLY FRIEND. BUT JUST ONE WEEK AGO, POOR OLD BILLY PASSED AWAY. SO I WOUL
- I greatly dislike the greed of people who buy up all the bear beanies and then mark them up outrageously. I have 2 kids who try to collect. I am a single mom and can't afford to pay $100 for a stuffed toy when I can feed my family for 2 weeks. That's crazy...
- I think beanie babies will be around for a while because they retire and come out with new ones
- I think that you should make a hedgehog beanie babie that is named "Prickles." My grandkids and I would really appreciate it.
- I'd like to know where the secondary market gets the new ones before the authorized dealers get theirs.
- I think that you should consider making a 'hedgehog' beanie babie who has the name of "PRICKLES". Another idea, that may work, is to make a 'hampster' beanie babie, it's name could be "Doonswick T. Hampster". He was 'working for ty' at one time. I hope
- My friend and I both think that Stripes the tiger will retire soon
- You should consider making a 'hedgehog' beanie babie who has the name of "PRICKLES". Another idea, that may work, is to make a 'hampster' beanie babie, it's name could be "Doonswick T. Hampster". He was 'working for ty' at one time. I hope that you tak
- I suggest to create a billy goat and name it Billy.
- make a hedghog named Prickles
- Some stores are to expensive.
- I like the Beanie Baby phenomenon, however, I believe that Authorized Retailers should be kept under tighter control. One of the stores where I most often purchase Beanies and other TY collectibles sells ALL currents for $6.95 (Including Erin, Princess, the new ones, etc.). And they sell recently retireds for $12.00, but usually there only are about 6 each of 2 Beanies (Like 6 of Peanut, 6 of Twigs, etc.). I believe that this is a reasonable selling price. If you would like the name of this store, plea
e e-mail me at: JoJo6288@aol.com. Thanks! --Kara
- Glory and Fortune, the new beanies will be worth alot
- i think beanies r great
- I predict that the currently mis-marked Rainbows will soon be selling four different variations: 1) Tag through paw/no tounge, 2)Tag through back fin, no tounge, 3) Tag through back fin w/tounge. The fourth and final Rainbow will be with a coreected tush tag, and this group of Rainbow variations will retire October 1998
- I think beanies are cute but I also like to sell them.
- I am sick of the HOGS who buy and resell them so the rest of us can't find the ones we need. The Teenie Beanie escapade also made me sick! It's a shame everyone can't just collect a set for themselves and buy them for their children. I'm almost ready to just get rid of them all, even though my children and I really do love them. I sure do wish we could get our hands on just one Princess and Erin bear at the price TY intended to sell them for, so the money for Princess would go to charity. Anyone s
lling Princess for more than retail price should be ashamed of themself! Thank-you for letting me sound off!
- I am very upset with some of the retailers in my area. they are VERY unethical. I have caught a few of them in lies- they say they don't have any new, but then they sell to people they know, or save for certain people. I feel this is unfair. Especially for parents trying to find for their kids. I buy beanies for myself only, but I know some moms who have been treated unfairly by retailers, in turn having to diappoint their children. NOT NICE!! other than that, I am just thrilled to count myself among t
e many who have caught the beanie bug!
- WHY IS IT THAT THE SECONDARY MARKET (i.e. shop at home) HAS THE NEW RELEASES BEFORE YOU CAN FIND THEM IN THE RETAIL MARKET AND ARE CHARGING WAY ABOVE THE RETAIL PRICE
- I LOVE BEANIES! I have 99! I LOVE them all
- I only have 7 beanies but they are worth up to around 285 dollars. This is true because three of them are bears. Erin, Valentino, Peace. I got Erin for 85, Peace for 30, and Valentino for 25.
- I think they're great.
- I just hope it keeps going! It's Great!
- I love the hunt, but I hate to see them retire before people have had a chance to get one. I think that TY distributors should not participate in the secondary market. I'm concerned about a couple of things that Ty has done recently. One is his removing certain beanies from retirement to provide them for team events such as Rover. Another is his making Glory available in large quantities for game events when most people can't even see one up close. I wish Ty would produce them in quantity before they
release them. I believe that it will turn into just a passing fad if the secondary market doesn't cool down a bit.
- I dislike authorized dealers that sell at secondary market prices instead of Ty's suggested retail price.
- Doesn't anybody understand? If BBs were EVERYWHERE, collecting WOULDN'T be FUN!! Part of this is effort! Also, the secondary market ISN'T BAD! It exsists for all collectibles, why should BBs be different? Not only does it give these toys value, it gives collectors a chance to catch up on beanies they missed. I'm not a "greedy BB dealer
- I collect the BB because I think that they are adorable! I don't care for buyers who grab as many as they can of a particle beanie! Beanies should be fun, not like going into battle!
- My friends Grandma lives next door to the Ty vice president so I always know what's going to happen. Crunch , pinky, claude, and spunky are going to be some of the next retireds.
- no answer.
- I would like to know how to contact Ry regarding suggestions for a beanie baby. I think they have pleanty of dogs and cats. I wish they would produce a ferret beanie baby. What do you think? Thanks Helen gmiddeke@execpc,com
- I think that the craze will die out.Just like the rest of them. People who spend astronomical amounts of money should be put in an insane assylum. $5.00 is enough for a peice of cloth with beans inside.Ty does not (obviousley) know how to run a business. He plays stupid games like the Princess/Erin one just for a little money. Although I am a collecter & have close to 100 beanies (97) , I am furious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- I absolutely ADORE beanies! I think it's a great trend. The only thing I dislike is when secondary markets sell the beanies for more than $6.00 when the beanies aren't retired!
- Make a hamster Beanie Baby!!!!!!!!!
- People are charging too much for these toys.
- Hot Toy's in Valley Hills Mall of Hickory's Prices are too high!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- None
- It gives me something to do in my spare time.
- I was dissapointed that no Bears were retired in the May 1998 Retirement. I also don't like the fact that some Retailers are more or less setting their own prices for their Beanies even though they are not supposed to.
- I AM THANKFUL FOR THE SECONDARY MARKET, IF IT WEREN'T FOR THE SECONDARY MARKET I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET ALL OF THE PREVIOUSLY RETIRED BEANIES THAT I NEEDED FOR MY COLLECTION, IF I DON'T LIKE SOMETHING THAT ONE DEALER IS DOING I JUST DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. THANK YOU!
- I believe the new group of beanies that came out around April, 98' were some of the worst made and thrown together beanies in the group. Ex: Iggy / Ranbow???, Prance and Pounce, Stretch, and Puffer??? The best (in my opinion) was the Cocker Spaniel. It appears (based on what I have seen) that this new group of fourteen are of top quality craftsmanship. In case anyone cares, I think it would be a profitable venture for 'TY' to produce more bunnies in blue, peach, yellow, white, black, brown, red,
and purple.
-
- I LOVE COLLECTING THESE CUTE ' LIL THINGS BUT IT IS REALLY STARTING TO AGGRAVATE ME. THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS WATCHING THE HOME SHOPPING NETWORK AND THEY WERE SELLING BRITTANIA FOR $899.99. GIVE ME A BREAK. HOW CAN THEY SELL A LITTLE TINY BEAR FOR THAT MUCH MONEY! I DO NOT CARE IF IT CAN ONLY BE FOUND IN BRITIAN, THAT IS TOO MUCH MONEY. PRETTY SOON WE ARE GOING TO HAVE HOMELESS PEOPLE ON THE STREETS, BUT HEY ATLEAST THEY HAVE OUTRAGOUSLY EXPENSIVE 7 INCH ANIMALS. I HAVE OVER 110 BEANIE BABIES BUT TH
RE IS NO WAY THAT I COULD PAY MORE THAN $75 FOR ANYTHING. I GOT PRINCESS AND ERIN FOR $10 EACH, LIBEARTY I PAID $7, VALENTINO AND TEDDY, ONLY $5. MY POINT IS SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THESE PRICES ON THE BEARS. SOME PEOPLE GET REALLY GREAT DEALS AS I DID, BUT NOT EVERYONE HAS THE TIME TO GO LOOKING FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. IF TY WARNER DIDN'T CHARGE SO MUCH FOR ONE LITTLE BEAR, HE WOULD PROBABLY MAKE MORE MONEY ALL TOGETHER. WE ALL NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I'M NOT SURE HOW OR WHAT BUT THIS
IS OUT OF CONTROL.
- None
- I think it is a money market trap, personally.
- I love the beanie babies and all of the different kinds of them, but I think more bears should be made.
- There aren't enought places to buy. And by the time you get there they're all gone. Especially if you have a daytime job.
- I don't like how secondary retailers can be so greedy!!!!
- There is something seriously WRONG with people that are willing to spend 100's of dollars a friggin 7 inch STUFFED ANIMAL. They are stuffed animals lets treat then as that not some precious lil treasure.YA sure there cute and all but I shouldnt have to give up a car payment to get the stuffed animal I want
- an ant beanie babie named picnic
- I really like the product; however greatly dislike what the secondary market is doing to the product.
- Prickles the porcupine
- Dealers that sell as if secondary sellers should be stopped
- On Princess's Diana's birthday her beanie babies should be retired.
- My daughter loves the beanies as so many do. I only wish we could afford the price for Princess and Erin. We keep searching in hopes of finding one at the retail price. Thanks for this website. I feel it is the best beanie source out.
- I think those skeptics who keep saying Beanies are not a safe investment and will not be around in 5 years should shut their pieholes!!
- I THINK THAT TY SHOUD MAKE AN ELVIS BB AND A TITANIC BB IN MEMORY OF ALL THE PASENGERS THAT DIDED, BUT NOT IN CELEBRATON OF THE NEWLY RELAST MOVEY TITANIC.
- I Think That A Lot Of Customers Are Just As Greedy As The Retailers They Complain About
- i love my beanies
- I love little beanie babies, I used to collect stuffed animals as a child, and now that I am a grandparent, my grandkids have the some of my same likes and dislikes, and one of them is beanie babies, if it weren't for them I probably wouldn't be as crazy about the little creatures. I really wish Ty would come out with an endangered species line, and give some of the proceeds like they did with Princess to the wildlife fund. I realize they do have endangered species as beanies, but I would like to see
a line specifically for helping out the endangered species. I know I'm getting a little neurotic about my beanies because now I only let the kids play with my duplicates and the others are in a glass encassed storage case. I often bring them all out at night and inspect them all as I become more familiar with fakes. Some of the beanie's that are not Ty beanies are quite cute also. So my passion is that they are just so darn cute. Will I ever sell them? Heck no. My grandkids already know that the col
ection will be theirs in the event I pass on. I have specifically named the ones each one will receive, and sometiimes I have to buy a duplicate to satisfy their hunger for the little rascals. I wish more stores would keep a better supply. There are some that I am missing from the current line, that are very difficult to find. I really resent the secondary market. Who sets those prices anyway? The craze may die down, but right now it's hot, and I'm right there. I have a freind in the Chicago area, a
d we spend hours on the internet discussing hard to find beanies. My husband thinks I've lost my nut, cause to him if it isn't golf related, there is no sense talking about it. But whatever I spend is fine with him, cause he knows its for the kids someday. Ha, Ha. But now it's for me.
- I just say to everyone, wait for the new ones!
- I think Princess and Erin should be at a reasonable price. Like 5-10 dollars so that everybody could afford them.
- Ty needs more reps for better customer service, and to monitor those companies who are cheating the consumer!!!
- For me, it is the thrill of the chase. I love to see which ones I can get at retail (6-7 dollars) . So far, I did get 8 May retireds, Jabber, and Erin at retail price. YEA!!
- It has brought my daughter and I closer as a result of our Beanie hunts.
- we need a way to communicate to TY about authorized dealers selling beanies at secondary market prices
- I hate it when some authorized dealers make you buy the current beanies that everyone has in order to get a bear or a new realease. I also hate it when they give out numbers to people that wait in line long before they open and the store hasn't even received its shipment yet. For those of us that can get there when they get the beanies its not fair.
- we need a red bear for valentines day. Don't put tag on Iggys spikes (the colorful beanie). Better yet change the tags on Iggy & Rainbow! Please!!!!
- wierd syrvey
- I like the new beanies. I dislike the high price of retires. I dislike the shortage of new and retired babies. I like dealers who sell babies for less than six dollars. I like talking with fellow collectors. My prediction is that a new list of babies will retire this fall.
- I DISLIKE THE FACT THAT WHEN A NEW BABY COMES OUT, SUCH AS A BEAR, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET, THE PRICE IS TO HIGH AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC DOES NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO GET THEM. I FEEL TY IS WELL AWARE OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND REALLY DO NOT CARE. THEY KNOW PEOPLE WANT THEM AND THEN THEY DO NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH. THEY KNOW BEARS ARE SELLERS AND WILL NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH. I FEEL THAT I AM BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF AND THE PRICES ARE WAY TO HIGH. I STARTED TO COLLECT THEM AS A FUN THING AND I AM NOW COMPLETELY
ISCUSSED. WHEN I GO TO BEANIE BABY SHOWS THE DEALERS ARE JUST AS ANNOYED AS THE PEOPLE BUYING CAUSE THEY SAY THEY CAN NOT GET THEM EITHER. I THINK TY HAS MADE ENOUGH MONEY BY NOW, AND SHOULD PRODUCE ENOUGH PRODUCTS SO EVERYONE CAN ENJOY THEM. I COLLECT FOR MYSELF. I DO NOT KNOW HOW A FAMILY WITH CHILDREN CAN BUY AND STILL PAY BILLS. THE THING I LIKE IS THAT THEY ARE CUTE AND I HOPE SOME DAY I WILL PASS MY COLLECTION DOWN TO MY GRANDCHILDREN. MY PREDICTIONS IS THAT AS LONG AS THE GENERAL PUBLIC KEEPS
BUYING BABIES TY WILL KEEP ON MAKING MONEY ON IT. THE GUY IS NO IDIOT. THANK YOU.
- i havechilly!!
- I love Beanies woo woo woo! I love beanies, how 'bout you?
- I only got started when the TBBs for 1998 can=me out and there was a giraffe. I collect giraffes and I thought why not have a whole set. My mother in law collects them and has bought me a few.
- More retailers should sell them and there should be a bigger supply because their in such high demand
- In this day and age of TV violence and crime BB are a wonderful family hobbie . It is dissapointing though that the secondary market is so extortionatly greedy . I believe that Ty Warner started the BB for children and show me a child or even most adults for that matter that can afford the hundreds never mind the thousands that are being asked for some of the retired BB . It would be nice to think that in 20 or 30 years from now when the children who are now collecting BB are adults that BB would be wo
th the money being asked for now . I believe that the secondary market will do more harm than good to the BB phenomanon as it makes prices rise to quickly. Our family is enjoying our BB collection very much my sons are enjoying it as much as me and my daughter and even my husband stops to look in stores as he passes for BBwe dont have.
- thay need to have a plase where you can figger out how hush your strange or miss marked binie babbys are worth
- i think that many retailers sell beanies at very high prices!! I love the few stores we have that actually sell beanies for $7.00, but they are always out of the ones i need!
- I think retailers are way way way way tooooo greedy, Im just a kid i cant pay 200 for princess=(
- I love to collect the bears.
- At the Hartville Flea Market in Ohio you can buy Princess for $45!!!
- I Think Gracie Will Retire Because She is so White!
- ithink they are adorable.
- I really think that crunch the shark will retire because he isn't a top seller. Also I think that people are taking this craze too seriously. Beanie Babies are meant for kids. Kids can't buy them for 100's of dollars!
- I would just like to say that when this beanie thing first started, and my mom and dad and sister were going crazy over them, i didn't really like it. But over time I've learned to love them and even knew more than anyone else in my family about them.
- not so many new ones at a time and why wasnt princess retired so that the many who paid big bucks for the original had a real collectable. She should have come out a lighter color or some other significant change,
- I don't like how some people try to resale beanies for really outrageous prices. I can understand wanting to make money off of collectibles but lets not go overboard. I love beanies....especially the kitties =)
- I love to talk to fellow Beanie lovers! And collecting them is so much fun!!! I'm working on a collection of cats, as well as a wide assortment of other Beanies.
- not so many new ones at a time and why wasnt princess retired so that the many who paid big bucks for the original had a real collectable. She should have come out a lighter color or some other significant change,
- do you know of any way to contact Ty and report overly priced dealers
- I can't understand how these "dealers" always know within minutes of a shipment arriving at my local retailer!
- I can't even get on and every one is grabing them up and selling them at the flea market at terrible prices it not fair and it takes the fun out of collecting.
- keep up the good job.
- I got hooked on beanies when I picked some up for my nephew who was collecting. I now have an antique bookcase with glass doors housing my 100 beanies. I have a princess, erin, and garcia which I never thought I would have. I'm not fanatical but I love them!
- I wish ty would make them more readily available. My duaughters and I have an awful time trying to find them from reg retailers. Then when we go to gibraltor trade center on the weekends we find that all the secondary market people have all the new ones and they are charging $35 a piece for them. It just really dosn't seem quite fair. I'd sure like to know how they get all of them.
- I think that authorized dealers will hold back or secondary market the new bears (Fortune/Glory) like past Bears so that the general consumer will never be able to find them for a reasonable retain price ($5).
- personally, i'm about ready to sell my collection as i am frustrated with the whole thing...i work full time all week and don't even have a chance when people are waiting for the ups man at stores or stores selling out the back door...tired of the hassle...no fun anymore...sorry, mr. warner, but you just don't seem to be concerned about the people buying these and making you rich...
- my biggest complaint is that they are hard to find but that's kind of the fun of collecting them to!!! My other complaint is that some people take it to the extreme and take the fun out of children collecting them(example mcdonalds beanie happymeals i have heard countless stories of retailers buying 40 or more happymeals just to make money!! is this for their children? I doubt it!!!
- it's a cool web site
- I think that Chocolate should retire because he is the only one of the original nine that is not retired.
- Well, I don't like how so many adults try to take advantage of the kids who collect beanie babies! I also can't stand stores who sell beanies for more than they should be sold! I think they are just being greedy, its all right for the people who are not authorized dealers to sell them for more, because they had to take the time to go and do the work, enter the drawings, etc. but the store owners get the beanies shipped right to them! Thats really not fair! Well just thought I would add that to your sur
ey! Thanks for hearing me! Lindsey
- i pretty much just got started, its fun to something both my 7yr. old and myself enjoy having.
- I think that since TY lists them at $5.00 then all of their retailers should sell them at $5.00.
- The best marketing stratagy I've seen in along time....You guys must be in 7th heaven...I do wonder when the bottom will fall out though...
- Some retailers have a very sour attitude toward beanie babies and there customers which is uncalled for. If they don't want the revenue and attention, they should stop ordering them!
- I think that the beanies are out of this world and that it is a challenge to see how many that I can get without having to spend to much for them.
- I wish Ty would send out as many of their bears as they do the other beanies to the retail stores.
- I love collecting beanies and appreciate the thrill of "the hunt", however it is discouraging when retailers sell to secondaries or allow customers to buy out their entire stock. I think it should be limited to 2-3 per style per customer per visit. I agree with stores that limit the amount you can buy but disagree with limiting it to only one since my daughter and her best friend wanted to bond with matching mystics and I couldn't buy two at a time.............
- gets frustrating trying to get the new ones
- I think people are getting way to greedy over beanie babies. Peoples are selling bb's that aren't retired and are easy to find for ridiculous prices. People are selling Dobys for 15 dollars a piece! How can a kid buy a beanie babie at that price and have a decent collection?
- This family LOVES Beanie Babies
- i don't like that some stores sell beanies at high prices
- Some like Princess and Erin are to hard to find.
- i think crunch is going 2 retire
- I think the teenie beanies of 1997 have gotten way out of hand. Happy meals are for kids and there are grown men and women fighting over them.
- The only thing wrong w/ the Beanie Baby Phenomenon, is the secondary market is way to greedy and alot of people are just buying beanie baby's to resell them and make a profit.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!!!!
- I think that since retired Beanies are going for so much now that in a few years people will avoid Beanie Babies because of the high prices.
- This is a totally riduculous phenomenon but . . . they are soooooooo cute!!
- The new releases are upsetting to me a new collector. Why do some have already and asking outragious prices? Also the one only rule for stores; I can understand if you are buying to resell but as a collector I would like to be able to buy any and all different ones (one of each) if I need for my collection.
- Well, I think that thousands is a lot, I just like to buy the ones that are really cute.
- I would like to find an AFFORDABLE way to display my beanies besides ziplock bags!
- I like your web site
- I just think that they are good for kids and a great interest for all who enjoy them
- I believe that the secondary market is part of what makes the whole thing fun. I only wish I could come across a dino or an old face teddy somewhere at a ridiculously low price. It's what keeps me going!
- My guess is that Wise the owl will be discontinued due to "Wise" chips, I also think that possibly in August, for the anniversary of Princess Di's passing, that Princess the bear will retire marking a a year long tribute to a special person.
- i hate how store owners give their friends and family first choice of the beanies that arrive. I have gone to stores that have just recieved two to three dozen of a certain retired beanie (tank) and they kept them all for themselves! Why God? why?
- I didn't buy these years ago because I felt that it was just a fad. I've finally given in , and boy do I wish that I had picked them up all those years ago!! now, that I've dropped a large chunk of cash into them, all I can do is sit on them for a while and hope that this craziness continues!
- I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A GROUNDHOG
- I love Beanies! I hope to see more retire soon!
- Retailers selling the the secondary market are going to ruin Ty's business because new beanies are to hard to get. Look at what happened to Princess, Peace and Erin. Ty was to slow in getting these beanies out to legitamint retailers. There are very few legit retailers in Omaha.
- yeah, the prices on some of them are rediculous and people shoulded always depend on the money part of collecting them and be more responsible.
- I do not like the way the stores are holding the Princess and Erin bears back and calling certain people to come get them....
- Beanies are cool
- more bears for countries
- You should do a line of beanies after ball team mascots: example, Detroit Lions (another lion), Miami Dolphins (a dolphin). etc. I know that you already have some of the beanies but it would be neat to have a collection of them with the ball team cards attached to them or the song from that team.
- there are too many greedy people trying to make a profit and buying the new beanies so nobody else can find them.
- I only buy things that really tickle my fancy. Why would anyone actively COLLECT something that hundreds of thousands of other people are COLLECTING? with millions of beanies around the world, 50 years from now how much can they possibly be worth?
- I like the fact that thay are ADORABLE
- nope
- Beanie Babies are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cool
- I love beanies
- I think the Beanie Babies Official Club is great.
- i think that ty should bring more new beanies out faster then they have been doing. Some of the moms that collect yhese need to chill out the one's in rochester michigan that get them at genas down town rochester
- this is my first time I ever went so crazy and buying everyone I can get, it is just so much fun and a great investment.
- I LOVE BEANIE BABIES!
- I feel that anything tye-dyed will be worth collecting. Also want to ask someone a question about a Peace swing tag, please email me.
- I do not like how some people are obsessed with the BB.
- more questions to the survey
- I LOVE BEANIES BUT THE AUTHORIZED DEALERS MAKE IT HARD FOR EVERYONE
- i think peace will retire
- Dealers should keep the prices at $5 5. I am personally very angry about this!can afford them. If they raise the price so quickly they will loose the customers that happen to be CHILDREN THAT DON'T GET AN ALLOWANCE OF $15!
- I am thoroughly enjoying looking for my beanies. I do get upset at times when it is obvious authorized dealers are doing "something else" with the beanies they get. I don't mind having to look and wait for shipments, but have a hard time with some stores never having bears or the popular beanies available. It's like they don't ever make it to the shelves.
- I don't like authorized dealers selling new released beanies for $20.00 and up.
- i really love beanies but they are just too expensive. but they are definatley fun to play with and set on my shelf. Thank youTY
- I think they should make a German Shepard or wolf Beanie Baby!
- i wish the stores that sold beanie babies would quit acting like they are holding gold bars they act so secretive about if they have them or not why not just put them out sell them and make their money
- This Beanie Baby collecting has been so much fun for me and one of my daughters who lives far away.
- I would like the retailers to stop anouncing when they will get their next shipment of beanies. This would make the beanie hunt fair for all and not just the " stand in line all night " lunatics. My children are forever disappointed when they arrive at astore only to find a line tha goes on forever.
- I do not like the fact that authorized Ty distributors jack up the price of beanies once they are retired
- make more beanie babies and try to make the price not so high.
- i very much dont mind paying a bit over the normal price...but they dealers have gotten so greedy i cant even get them for myself or my neice without looking at outrageous prices....and you mean to tell me all that money went to Princess Dianas Fund right??? Yright....and they glom up all of them before they even hit the stores....so you tell me whats fair and whats not... a very disgruntled consumer..
- Its great, got me something to do than think of an old love!
- I LOVE IT!! Hope it lasts 4ever.
- make more mice ones!!!
- Books on Beanie Babies
- it's gotten way out of hand--it's gone from fun to way too stressful to be a fun hobby. by
- I think that beanie baby collecting is better then collecting almost anything else because almost anyone caan do it!
- Some merchants say they never have gotten Princess & Erin, one store has them and said they had to buy on secondary market to get and was selling Princess for $90.00 and Erin for $180.00. The beanies he had from Ty supposedly (the ones that are not hard to find he was selling for $6.99.
- I think Lefty and Righty should be reproduced limited during the next voting season.
- I love Beanie Babies. I don't like secondary prices!
- I luv to collect bb, but some stores price WAY too much. one store up the street is cool, and prices 5.99 each, even if retired! i luv it!! i wish all stores could be like that. but they're too greedy.
- I'd like a Black Lab
- I'd like a Black Lab
- i'd love to see another teenie beanie promo next year.
- I feel there should never be more that 2 million made of any one beanie & that they should never stay out longer than 2 years.
- I think that the secondary market and Ty retailers are cheating kids of their money
- Beanie Babies are fun to collect but I think parents put too much stress on the money towards their kids
- ty is producing to many of some beanies decreasing there value
- i don't like the retailers putting them on different shelves and asking higher prices for certain currents and retireds.
- Uk wants a magazine and club
- i have gone up and down in getting bb, i love them for myself, but, i also get the dogs for my boyfriend's son who collects dogs. i started because i thought they were cute and i have always collected bears, of all types.
- I hope that the TY company is not shorting on the bears. Just because there is an exclusive "Teddy Bear" collector market shouldn't put a limit on the production of them. My daughter loves bears and this "shortage" makes it very difficult to get the ones she likes.
- I hate how retailers who used to sell just currents or any beanies that they got, but now buy things from the secondary market and then sell them for like $200 more than their worth. That really bugs me!
- Beanie Babies are a great way to spend your time, if yoiu don't have anything elso to do. I wish retailers would have a set price for all of them, not just the commons. I think Valentino, or one of the bears will be retired soon.
- Beanie Babies are SWEET!
- Adults need to be more fair to children!!!
- have a birthday bear the color of birthstones
- I love beanies and think that people in main stores should not sell so many beanies to them.
- very discouraged with the retailers attitudes and methods of their sale, For instance one place knows that people sleep outside the shop the night before the one day distribution per week, but can't figure a way to be fairer to us who will never sleep outside for 12 hours or more t o purchase.
- I don't like the fact that some people are trying to sell the new beanies for 25.00 or higher. It makes it harder to find them all.
- Feel that all the new beanies should be available at the same time at al the locations.
- I hope the fad does not end soon. I like to see what ty has next up their sleeve.
- I can't believe how much the craze has EXPLODED since 1994-1995! It's unbelievable! (For one thing, it makes it a LOT harder for someone like me to collect them!)
- If you had SOMETHING! that would bring joy to your friends, family, especilly excite your nieces & nephews, grandbabies & all kids-young & old, YOU WOULD COLLECT THEM TOO! Who would have guessed such a THING would ?!?!?
- When my children first began collecting, it was fun and they were a good value for them to afford. Then I realized the investment potential and it has now become a family collection. It is still fun, however the attitude of some people who stand in line next to us and even some of the retailers has gotten very much out of control. I can only believe that the bottom has to give sometime and we will all still have really cute bean bag toys that make great kid gifts.
- I love beanies they're addictive!!!!
- I hope that the ones I have will be worth more in the future, but I'm mostly just having fun collecting them. As far as the retailers go, I feel that they should strictly abide by Ty's policies (even with Erin and Princess). In order for Ty to stand by their mission of producing top quality stuffed animals at a price that most people can afford, then they must insist that retailers adhere to their policies or lose the privilege of selling their products. I'm sure most if not all of the retailers hav
experienced an increase in the number of customers coming into their stores and that they have experienced increased sales of other merchandise in their stores as a result.
- Beanie Babies are adorable and are fun to collect for self and grandchildren. It is a shame that so many retailers lie about what they have and charge outrageous prices for something a child wants so badly. Having to buy from $25-$200 worth of other "st
- I THINK ALL DEALER'S AND RATAILER'S SOULD BE ABLE TO SET THERE OWN PRICE AND MAKE MILLION'S ON US LITTLE GUY'S BUT LIKE THEY SAY MONEY GO TO MONEY
- PLEASE CONTROL RETAILER PRICES
- I just wish I had a crystal ball!!
- I hate that there are SO MANY FAKES out there, and that they're SO MANY Crooks on the internet!!!!!
- Looking forward to getting my Clubby!
- I love Beanie Babies
- They should nake a beanie of me.
- I work @ a Hallmark. It helps to add to my collection! Also work @ a Vets. office and so I collect only the dogs & horses. Looking forward to the new releases any day now!! I think in a few months that BBies will cool down a little and then come back HOTTER than ever. So hang on the those Priness, Erin, and any other big names. I have both. Just an employee perk. That makes me mad also when people say Hallmark (or any retailer) should put out ALL of their BBies. Don't even tell me that if thos
same people worked @ one of those stores they woun't be saying that then. Ok, now I'm alright. Thanks.
- I would just like to say that the retailers that are selling these Beanie Babies should be fair with the public. I know that a lot of stores in my area (Chicago) hold some of their stock in back rooms and bring two or three types out at a time. I think that they should all be put out as they come in. I also know that a lot of the stores do hold the rare or retired Beanies to sell at shows because they can get more money out of them there. I am just in to collecting them for fun as a lot of people a
e and this shouldn't be primarily a money making market.
- I really like Erin and it is really hard to find her for less than $50. Any place that is a beanie retailer that I go to they are selling it for $50 - $150. Do you know of any place I can find it for less? Please Email me (Bobo4@ix.netcom.com Thank you
- I liked that retailers were selling them for $5, when they hike the price up on a child's toy it annoys me terribly
- ty really should make a peacock.
- I think TY is ripping everyone off, but that's business
- you have a very informative servay
- They should allow stores to order more than just 36 per style so more people have a chance, this way more honest collecters could get the beanies that they dream of.
- While Beanie collecting is fun and because of beanies I have learnt to use the computer beanies have also brought out the greed, rudeness and dishonesty in many people. I can no longer ask about beanies in my neighborhood stores from fear of a rude answer. I have also dealt with situations online where people trying to make a quick buck were dishonest.
- Why are Erin and Princess so hard to find? I am still trying to get them both. I love the bears. I wish you send more than 12 at a time to each store.
- They need to do a beanie day at the ball park in arlington texas.
- I think this is a great sight!
- I would like to see ty add more hard to get BBs to the BBOC like princess and erin so every one could get the at a fare price.
- Yesterday a friend told me a store had Princess at 4 PM. I didn't know it was a lottery. We went, were only 10 back from the front door and then after standing in line for 30 minutes found it was a lottery. I think it's disgusting for a current BB to have a lottery. I think stores should limit sales on the popular ones so that we grandmothers can get our granchildren a set when they first come out. Don't understand how these dealers get hold of so many.
- I predict this beanie baby frenzy will get old and die out pretty soon by the next 2-3 years and the price for the newer beanies coming out now will be worth around the same as it is now if not less. This does not include the already retired beanies. Those will keep it's worth if not more. Keep in mind this is only a prediction.
- I think there should be enough of the current BB that everyone could purchase 1 of each beanie at a good price 12.00 or less
- its not as much fun to collect now that so many are collecting and the prices for currents can be so high that the retailers put aside certain beanies and charge extra for them
- It's not fair that most of the beanies I want I can't get. For example, Erin, Peace, Valetino, Curly, and all the bears. I don't expect to get all of them but all I have are two bears. Blackie and ( I am soooooooo lucky to have) Princess. I got Princess at a regular price which I think is GREAT! The only problem is, the other good non-retired bears were already bought by adults who come when the shipment comes. I wish stores would sell only to children or something like that. Thanx.
- I think they should some retired beanies at some local stores.
- I would like to see a ferret. I think that would be a great idea also I think that Mr Warner needs to do a public, maybe a tv interview.
- I don't like the fact that TY makes exclusives. This makes it next to impossible for the children collectors to get! For example Maple, Glory and Brittania
- Beanies are the cutest thing around, however, it is a shame that folks-like me-can't get the older retired ones for a price where they don't have to mortgage the house!
- I love the thrill of the chase !
- I think the adults have ruined the collecting for kids.
- need more people e-mailing show dates, sometimes I find ot a day too late that there was one in my area. Would like to see Ty have voting on new styles, like the post office does with stamps.
- The whole phenomenon is a blast!
- Ty should add "customer service" to his vocabulary
- I don't like having to fight to get a new beanie cause the dealers won't put them out for sale, hide them or auction them if they can make big bucks
- I wish retailors would limit all beanie
- I FEEL EVERY WANT'S TO COLLECTION SOMETHING FOR 4.99 TO 6.99 AND HAVE IT BE WORTH $ AFTER ONE YEAR TY IS THAT TO MOST OF MY FRIENDS " A LITTLE SOMETHING FOR THOSE OF US WHO CAN'T BUY THE MORE EXPENSIVE COLLECABLE....
- The authorized dealers are still too greedy. They should sell at the correct price and just sell twice as many.
- Before only a few people collected beanies and not many of each kind were made but now you can find the same beanie in 10 out of 13 stores so the newest ones will not be worth as much as the older "less collected" beanie babies
- Come out with an ant!
- I don't like TY dealers selling Erin, Peace and Princess for more than the "Ty recomeded current prices" $50.00 and more? The greedy retailers.
- I wish you could find bears and other beanie babies without stores trying to get to money buy jacking the prices up and making it so hard to get them.
